Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Pros. This is the Fantasy Football podcast. It is me, Joey P, Joe P. Zapia and the NFL season in 2025. 2026 is in the books, which means free agency is around the corner. And free agency is going to affect not just the landing spots and the value of those guys that are free agents, but also some of the players that are already on established teams as established roles as well. And how that is going to impact them is the topic of of today's show with Jake Seeley from the Athletic and the Undertaker himself, Andrew Erickson. The boys and I are going to discuss some of the players, some of the positions on some teams as well that could be very affected by what's going to go on in the weeks ahead of NFL free agency. But before we get to that, subscribe to the podcast feed, subscribe to the channel as well, and of course on our YouTube. And speaking of YouTube, for all you crazy Dynasty nerds out there, we've got a whole new YouTube channel just for you. That's right, the Dynasty Channel channel at Fantasy Pros has officially launched as of last week. So if you haven't already, go check it out. They've got all kinds of fun shows going on there right now. Rookie ranks, super flex strategy, startup drafts, everything's going on there right now. Fantasy Pros, Dynasty, YouTube is here. Subscribe today. Go check it out. Fitzy, Worm, Bogman, bunch of guests, a bunch of great content contributors over there and it is a very exciting channel. They can have some mock drafts coming up too, right, right around the corner. But gentlemen, we're going to start here today with some young up and coming talent as well on this program. Guys that kind of showed some flashes or guys that have high expectations or high draft capital attached to them that could be impacted by the free agency of 2026. So Jake, I want to start with yours here because you want to talk about J.J. mcCarthy, obviously the draft stock pretty involved for the Minnesota Vikings, they made a hard decision to get rid of Sam Darnold and the super bowl later. Sam Darnold is a champion and the Vikings were not in the playoffs. So how does the off season of free agency possibly affect JJ McCarthy stock in 2026? I could be out the window in.
Jake Seely
A zero stock and sunk cost and it's over because we've seen like the Colts, you know, there was a big talk last year with Daniel Jones being the backup and Anthony Richardson obviously got hurt in that whole. What like that ripple effect is what we could see with the Vikings without the injury. That's the whole point. It's like they might be done with J.J. mcCarthy. They might have already decided, this isn't working, we're moving on. This is, we lost our draft pick. It just wasn't a smart move because also, oh, by the way, they moved on from their gm, by the way, while he was at the Senior Bowl. They're like, you're out of here. And like, oh well, thanks for telling me while I'm out scouting these players who was behind the JJ McCarthy pick. So there's a lot here, whether they do it straight up with a free agent, whether they do it by a trade, whatever they do. I think there's a good chance that. I know we're not talking him on this show. No, we're not. But when we talk about him on the other show, certain old, old, old, old quarterback that might have some ties back to the Vikings and come back for a one off year. No, no. I see you shaking your hair.
Andrew Erickson
Cousins. Yeah.
Jake Seely
No, not Kirk Cousins.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Rodgers. I think that's exactly. But that's a guess that's fun.
Jake Seely
Either one of them. The point being is just, just, just J.J. mcCarthy might be done. And that's why he could lose all his value. But that would be good for us, for the Justin Jefferson hope. Because right now his done value is also ruining Justin Jefferson.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Do you think the negativity is exasperated over or exacerbated? I should say, pardon me, because of Sam Darnold's success this year. Like if Sam Darnold had a, you know, nine win season with the Seahawks and didn't play very well, the fact that you have to watch Sam Darnold go somewhere else win a Super bowl. Do you think that just kind of just doubles down all the pressure on the Minnesota Vikings to get quarterback? Right. Whereas you know, if Darnold had a so, so year they go, okay, well this is just rookie development and we'll be a little bit more patient because it kind of feels like that to me.
Jake Seely
I think that's a fan perception, obviously. And I think depending on how much they're listening to the fans is part of it. Because I agree with you, Joe. But I don't know how much the front office really cares about that. At the end of the day, they want to sell tickets, they want their fans to be happy and win and all that type of stuff with the team. But at the same time, like this is a JJ McCarthy issue. This is was he didn't have a rookie season, he was injured. What did he learn the whole time? Looks like nothing. And that's the, that's the biggest issue. You can't come out your second year and look as raw as he did with all the concerns we had of him coming out of college, making all the poor throws he was making. And just, you know, as much as he target Justin Jefferson, it was a massive drop off from a dude with one arm. An old ass Carson Wentz with one arm was doing better with Justin Jefferson in this offense than you were. So I think that's the biggest thing is that they gave him the opportunity. They really said, we're going into 2025. It's McCarthy's job. This is why we drafted him. He had a free year to learn and he didn't do any. It doesn't look like he took any progress forward. For all the complaints about Anthony Richardson, the same complaint should be with J.J. mcCarthy.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, fair enough. Now another player too, Andrew wants to talk about who is a young player, possibly an up and coming talent who's actually coming off a pretty productive season. Woody Marks of the Houston Texans. So Andrew, you put him on the list because you think he could be impacted by this off season of free agency as well.
Andrew Erickson
I look at Woody Marks in his situation as a former day three running back. The draft capital is not there for him to be. Not irreplaceable by the Houston Texans. And I know that you mentioned that he was productive. That's because he got volume. Because you look at every other efficiency stat for Woody Marks and he's at the bottom, bottom 10 in yards per carry rushing success rate, explosive runs, EPA like you can't find him at the top of any type of rushing metric where, oh, Woody Marks is really efficient in this, especially when it comes to the lack of involvement as a receiver. And that was his calling card coming out of college. Oh, this guy's going to catch a bunch of passes. And the Houston Texans really didn't even use him in that role. In fact, Gerard Jordan had more games with five catches than Woody Marks did. Gerard Jordan stepped in the first action. He got immediately. Rushes for 100 yards. Woody Marks had one 100 rushing yard game all season, came in in the playoffs against the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I don't think that he showed that, oh, I'm so far beyond more talented than every other running back on this roster. I mean, he was splitting touches for the first half of the season with Nick Chubb, who is very, very, very past his prime last in running backs in terms of missed tackles, force per attempt. So again, a lot of the efficiency metrics were bad for all Texans running backs. Again, Nick Chubb's also at the bottom and a lot of these lists because of the Texans offensive line. But missed tackles forced, I mean, that's on you. Like you're the running back. You got to make somebody miss. And Woody Marks was failing to do that dead last in fantasy points versus expectation. And the other thing that really got people tilted with Woody Marks was every time it looked like he was going to take a step forward in a game, he would leave with an injury. He would always get like constantly banged up in and out of the blue medical tent. So I think for Woody Marks, to your point, again, look at the counting stats. He was productive. Use him to ship him off. Like, that's what I would be doing in terms of like a dynasty perspective, Woody Marks, because even if he survives free agency, which I don't think that he will, because I think the Texans will at least add someone to replace Nick Chubb as the veteran in the room, I think they're also live to draft a running back in this year's class. So for me, and also too, I mean, Joe Mix is still under contract, right?
Bowen Yang
Right.
Andrew Erickson
Like, I don't know what is going on with him. I don't think he really should be a factor in play here. But who knows, Maybe he does come back. He's still owed money by the Houston Texans. So I do think that they're a dark horse to land a guy like Breece Hall. They were calling the jets last year about getting someone like Breeze hall. And if hall ends up in Houston, I mean, Woody Marks, sayonara to any value that he had.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Well, last thing the Texans want to do this off season is shoot themselves in the foot at the running back position. See what I did there? See what I did?
Jake Seely
Wow.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, all right, next.
Andrew Erickson
Allegedly. Allegedly.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, let's talk about that one.
Jake Seely
By the way, just so you know, I agree with Metaphor.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Metaphorically or figuratively? Never mind, don't answer that. Let's go. Let's go to the next position here on running backs too. And let's talk about a couple running backs that had some draft stock going into 2025 season. Jechore Crosby merit one of the darling sleepers of the fantasy nerd community that unfortunately didn't quite, I think, return the investment that people were hoping for. There's a lot of committee action. There were some opportunities, there were some good games. There were some disappointing games as well. So Jake Seely, how could the Washington Commanders end up going out this offseason of free agency and kind of ruining his value?
Jake Seely
Just adding somebody, period. We can see Austin eckler and obviously McNichols. They're both gone, likely in free agency. But do they turn to Jakory, Crosby, Merritt as the only guy? I don't think. And obviously not the only guy on the roster, but the only guy is like a bell cow. I don't think so. This is also last year Ben Standing was reporting before the season even started. They said let's remember he's played one in the previous two seasons. They're going to not given the ball a ton to start the season, probably looking at the second half and even kind of then we didn't get a ton of it looks to be kind of a timeshare running back, which is okay. That's what half the league is in their backfields at this point. But you're telling me that Washington with all that cap space, like everybody's talking about Brace hall to the Chiefs or Breeze hall here or Kenneth Walker, is he going back to the Seahawks or. So you're telling me that the look the Commanders bringing in, I think this is interesting too. Like the David Blow moving him up and giving the promotion to offensive coordinator. This guy learned from Kevin o', Connell, Ben Johnson and then was under Kingsbury last year. Go back to Kevin o' Connell and Ben Johnson and what they've been able to do with their offenses and also a lot of times with their split backfields. You're telling me that the Commanders aren't in play to add something to that backfield significant. And I'm not talking like Rico Dowdle, I'm talking about like what if they make one of the big names there and like even if it is Rico Dowdle, Rico Dowdle is going to split with and I think that's the problem here is that Cory Crosby merit, I would almost bet money is splitting with somebody next year even if he's the lead, I think it might only be 50% of the workload.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, speaking of workload, Alvin Camaro's gotten a ton of that in the last couple years here for the New Orleans Saints. He's been a fantasy stalwart running back that we have looked to time and time again. Last year started to show some age, I think a little bit too. And we all think that, you know, another year on and running back position, we all know what that typically means. So could the Saints be looking to change things up? I know he wanted to stay there. He didn't want out of there. There was rumors of the trade deadline that Alvin Camara could be on his way to a contender, but he's like, no, I don't want to leave New Orleans. But does New Orleans want to move on from Alvin Camara? That is the question.
Andrew Erickson
I think that that's something that they have to consider. Right? They are second worst in terms of salary cap space at negative 42 million at the time of this recording. Only the Chiefs are in a worse salary cap space spot than the Saints. But this is very status quo for New Orleans. They're always minus $40 million in cap space. They always find a way to figure things out. But Chimera, the efficiency continues to dwindle. And last year, again, worse in terms of career lows and rushing efficiency across the board. And I thought that was really interesting again before his injury that kind of derailed the rest of his season. And they never, I don't believe they put him on injured reserve. They kept saying, oh, yeah, he'll come back. And then he never came back, which is really annoying. Fewer than 17 receiving yards per game. He had never had a season with fewer than 30 receiving yards per game. Career low three catches per game. So in this new offense, with Kellen Moore, hyper targeting the running back out of the backfield was not really part of the offensive focal point. Now could that change a little bit here with Tyler Schuck being the full time starter under center, you only have Juwan Johnson, Chris Olave, Devon Vagen. You're taking Rashid Shahid out of the offense and out of the equation. So it's possible that maybe Kamara's numbers as a receiver would be a little bit better. But I think that that's really important to pay attention to, that his fit in this offense is not the same as it was in those years past when he was the number one target all the time, especially out of the backfield. With Olave dealing with injuries so they can save money if they are cutting him. I mean among all the running backs in the NFL next year, he has the largest running back cap hit, 31 year old Alvin Camara. Right. So like that, like that. Just to me it's like the Saints team wants to improve, build off Tyler Schuck in his second season. And is Alvin Camara as like the featured piece of your backfield? Is that really the best way to deploy this offense? I think that they are very live to add a player like we just mentioned Enrico Dowdle again, he's got ties to Kellen Moore. They had overlapped time in Dallas. A lot of ex Dallas staffers on that New Orleans Saints staff under Kellen Moore. So I think Dowdle again would be a perfect fit and complement to Alvin Camara. But I don't know what his role is going to be where. Oh yeah, we feel great about playing Alvin Camara in fantasy this week. Like it's going to be very situational based where okay, maybe in a negative game script he's going to catch passes out of the backfield but the rushing, is he going to be the red zone guy? And then also the flashes that you saw from Devin Neal and Aldrich Estimate last year, you know, are those guys going to be involved as like a third rotational back because they got some action later on in the season. So that's just I think Camaro, when I look at his value after free agency, I don't think that we're going to be saying oh well, Alvin Camara, big winner and free agency, I guess like if he doesn't get cut then like that would be a big win. But I have concerns about the moving pieces in that backfield.
Jake Seely
I was going to say, I don't even know if getting cut necessarily kills him. Like the fact that like he could get hurt. Your last point just by still being on this team. Because I looked this up the other day because there was a lot of people during the season, they're like, oh, they're done with Alvin Camara. And I'm like what is this contract? And I looked and they're probably going to have to restructure it if they want to just go into next year. They only save eight if they cut them after June 1st and that still leaves him on the hook for 11. So this is going to be interesting. He might be stuck there on a restructure, but I agree with you, Andrew, like it might not matter. Even if he is stuck there, he might lose his value anyway. I'm just saying don't be surprised if he's still there and if he gets.
Andrew Erickson
But if. And if he gets cut to. Joe mentioned in the beginning he may not play at all because he says, I want. It's either Cancun or New Orleans.
Bowen Yang
Like that's it.
Andrew Erickson
That. That's it for Alvin Camara.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Hey, you know, for the first time.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, right.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
A couple weeks ago. It's good options. The New Orleans is fun. I get it. I stuff my face with beignets and Andrew Erickson.
Jake Seely
That's correct. I got that one. That's really a good time.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
It was a good time. But look, it's not just some of these players, too. Sometimes free agency is going to affect an entire group of players at a position on a team. So we're going to talk about those as well. So, Jake, I think very astutely you pointed out the Buffalo Bills need an overhaul. They haven't replaced Stefan Diggs since he left, and it's a glaring hole there in their offense. And they get into these big games and they need these big plays from their wide receivers. They just can't seem to get somebody to step up into that void. So how is an addition, whether it be an Alec Pierce or an A.J. brown via trade or something possibly happening with the Bill's wide receiver group that's going to affect this entire grouping there of whatever's left with Dean Shakir and Keon Coleman, et cetera, et cetera, Josh Palmer, et cetera.
Jake Seely
You know what this is like. I mean, the Bills are realizing what they're doing to Josh Allen is like what the Giants did with Saquon Barkley. Like, hey, let's have this amazing talent and surround them with junk like, like, I know Josh Allen, similar to Tom Brady and all the other quarter. Great quarterbacks and elite ones that will be hall of Famers can rise the tide and rise all the boats, but at the same time, there's a limit. Like, you can't turn Khalil Shakir and Josh Palmer, who can't stay healthy and Keon Coleman.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
There was a limit with Brady at the end of the Patriot era, too, Jake. We saw it. We saw it. They kept, you know, fuzzing out in the end of the playoffs there because.
Andrew Erickson
Are you saying that throwing to Nikhil Harry wasn't working?
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
I'm saying throwing to Nikhil Harry wasn't. Wasn't working. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.
Jake Seely
Great shout out Nikhil Harry. I wasn't expecting to catch a stray on.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
He's a free Agent, by the way.
Andrew Erickson
I mean he know he works a tight end. That, that, that's when you know you're done is with the receiver that can't get open. Oh well, I'll convert to tight end.
Jake Seely
The good old late career Kelvin Benjamin.
Andrew Erickson
Matthews tried to do it like back to the bill.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Back to the bill.
Jake Seely
This is very simple. They don't have a one. They're, they're going to address this position and maybe it's only in the draft, but we are talking free agency. I expect with the names that are out there, there's a handful. It's not going to be George Pickens as we heard. They're already going to franchise Pickens. But what if it's like hey, Mike Evans at the end of the career and like Mike Evans, we're going to just keep discounting him. And like I know this kind of almost feels like Mike Evans going to the Bills feels like, you know, a Hopkins going to the Ravens, but it's different because they've lacked a one. And this is just a trickle down fact. Whoever they bring in is going to push down. Shakir is going to push down. I don't even know who the three is at this point. I was going to say Palmer, but it's probably not. I mean try Keon Coleman again. But this is also a very 12 heavy set, so it doesn't really matter. Is probably blank and Shakir. So maybe we can get some Shakir wide receiver for value where it's, hey, he doesn't need the attention. He isn't Stefon Diggs. He's a lesser version of Stefon Diggs, which again is okay. But just understanding that's who he is. He can't be the one for this team. Somebody else needs to be. So this is a trickle also to Josh Allen where we could get Josh Allen back to being elite. Also in the passing game where it was a little bit of a downtick of a year for him. But we could be talking about the Bills in the Super Bowl. We could talk about Josh Allen being 24 points per game next year. This is going to affect everybody on this team.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Team, yeah. Certainly going to. Indeed. And Andrew Erickson, certainly in the New England Patriots, I think could be looking for some more separation in their wide receiver core as well. Look, Stefan Diggs had a pretty good season, but it has been a no name group, right? You've had the Matt Collins, you've had Keisha Booty step up and make some, you know, big plays in some big spots. Even Kyle Williams, you know, fun, like all he does is catch touchdowns. But there really isn't that alpha dog there. And if you're going to grow a young quarterback into an mvp, you kind of need some help. And it feels like the pat's kind of lacking that. So how can potentially this off season free agency impact the Patriots wide receiver group or maybe by trickle effect the tight ends as well?
Andrew Erickson
I just think that they're in the market to land a premier pass catcher, whether that is in free agency or in the NFL draft. You look at their current roster and depth chart. Yeah, they don't have a lot of alphas. And Stefan Diggs was the number one guy this year and he really started to break out in the second half of the season. Season. But I mean no show in the super bowl. Right. Like they, he was not involved really whatsoever. And that was kind of with all the receivers and pass catchers. I mean Matt Collins was the guy making all the plays. Matt Collins is like really old. Like people forget he was in the NFL for a while as like a straight special teams player. He's a free agent in 2027. So is Demario Douglas. So is K Sean Booty. I, I think Booty's probably the one that they try to lock up long term because he's a younger player and, and showed flash as a, I think could be a number two or a number, a strong number three, especially as a deep threat. So I like Booty in that type of role. But these other players, Hunter Henry also not getting any younger. He's going to be 32. He's going to be a free agent in 2027. So the thing is, everyone is still under contract, including Stefan Diggs, but he's owed a lot of money the next two years. Are they going to expect him to be as effective as he was this past season? When he's getting another year older, he'll be 32 years old. When you have your rookie quarterback on a rookie deal, I think it makes more sense for them to not pay Stefan Diggs necessarily a ton of money if they can use those assets and resources towards getting a better younger wide receiver to pair with Drake May. And this isn't a reason just like, oh, just get rid of Stefan Diggs. No, it's. Well, explore your options because if you can upgrade, get a younger receiver. And the guy that I pinpoint to is, is A.J. brown. Right. Especially with the trade market. Reports have been that they're looking for a second round pick for A.J. brown. I mean, Mike Frable is like the one guy that you're confident, okay, they bring AJ Brown in the building. Mike Ravel can make this work. And A.J. brown wants to be an alpha. He wants to be a number one wide receiver. I think he can still play like a number one wide receiver. He's still 28 years old, still a guy that can produce at an elite level. And right now in Philadelphia, they're not treating him like a true wide receiver one. So I think that if A.J. brown or another name ends up in New England, well, you have to kind of knock down all these other pass catchers in the Patriots offense that, I mean, for the most part was mostly ancillary. Yeah, like they're. They were mostly ancillary pieces. I mean, Stefan Diggs we could barely trust because he was only playing like 50% or 60% of the snap snaps and routes.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Yeah. Diggs is not the long term answer. I think we can all agree, like, it was a nice story. It was fun this year. You know, I'm sorry that he and Cardi B. Broke up. It's very sad news. But they did.
Andrew Erickson
That's. That's.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Oh, yeah. I think that's why he had a bad game. Oh, yeah.
Jake Seely
I think she's following somebody from the.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Seahawks now because, yeah, they unfollowed each other on Instagram. That's whenever Jake and I got in arguments when we used to do radio together for years. I would unfollow him on social media and he would have followed me. That's how everyone knew we were fighting.
Andrew Erickson
They broke up before the Super Bowl.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, my daughter told me about. See, this is the plus when you're.
Jake Seely
Oh, my God.
Andrew Erickson
Before I bet on the Patriots.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
I should have known. I didn't know this either. I found out when I sat down to watch the game with the girls and they were like, did you know that, Cardi? It's like, really? I did not know that. And then they were telling me about. Yeah, because they asked her for a quote and she said, well, what do you have to say about. To Stefan digs for Super Bowl? She said, well, good luck. And I was like, that seems kind of weird. And then they unfollowed each other. So you get the tea from. Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, next up on the list we got a couple names and we're doing a little lightning round and then we're going to talk about what would happen if free agency started tomorrow, which it doesn't. We got more free agency shows coming at you later in the week too. A lot of good stuff, Jake, myself, Tom Strachan. So make sure you tuned into the channel here. Let's talk about a well known wide receiver, somebody that's established, Jake, Darnell Mooney, who could potentially find himself on the outs in free agency, especially with a new coach coming in.
Jake Seely
Yeah, that's a big thing. We know Stefanski, Tommy Reese. We're probably going to see more 12 with this team and a lot of tight end usage in those and more running. Which means we hope that Drake London and who the tight end. Whether it's Kyle Pitts or somebody else has their value. But what's number two? And at number two it's going to be hard to have that kind of value in their offense, let alone if it's Darnold Mooney, which would like we joke about the whole fact that like it would have nice to know about the separated shoulder at the beginning of the season, blah blah blah. But I mean Mooney with this team is basically pretty much post injury from the previous injury. Hasn't just been the Mooney that we hoped he could be and be like hey he's just going to be that big play threat. He only needs 50 receptions to put up 900 yards and a handful of touchdowns. I don't even know if he's the number two next year at this point. You look what the Falcons could possibly do under this with also Stefanski being the new head coach with Reese as his OC is that they don't have ties to Mooney. They don't have ties to anybody on this team. They might just come in and say hey we want our own version of Mooney who's come somebody completely different. If they go down to depth chart of I think there's somebody at free agency you go down the list like a Calvin Austin, like a random, like just a flyer like that just because not that I think Calvin Austin's any great shakes but if they bring him in, I think Mooney's job is a significant threat for the Falcons next year.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right. For you Andrew Erickson, one of the guys we want to talk about, another established wide out guy, Calvin Ridley, who a lot of people actually had some decent expectations for. Well they all fell flat and the saga of Calvin Ridley and the roller coaster we've ridden for so many years could be at an end here for him in Tennessee. So let's talk about Calvin Ridley and how free agency might impact his fantasy value next year.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, Calvin really the buy low that is still seeing his value go down and down by the days with Calvin Ridley. He's 31 years old. He's coming off a broken fibula injury similar to Darnell Mooney. You have a new offensive coordinator, new head coach combination coming in for the Tennessee Titans did not show much chemistry with Cam Ward last year. It was Calvin really seeing a lot of air yards, seeing a lot of targets, but the conversion rate was not there for him. Now the one thing that kind of works for Calvin Ridley is the fact that Brian Daboll actually coached Calvin Ridley at Alabama in 2017. However, if the Titans decide, yeah, we don't care. We're gonna save $13.4 million if we cut Calvin Ridley. I think that's extremely telling that even Day ball wasn't able to save Calvin Ridley and his job with the Tennessee Titans. I think that a move that they could make is they cut Ridley and instead Dabo gets his guy from New York. Wanda Robinson brings him in to vacuum up targets from Cam Ward. So that's a kind of a scenario I'm seeing. And that leaves Calvin Ridley in kind of no man's who's going to sign Ridley to a big deal or to really like any type of contract. Like I'm afraid with Ridley is he going down? It's not exactly, you know, one for one but like the Deontay Johnson route where again he's really productive, gets a lot of targets but you know, does some things with some coaching staff rubs in the wrong way and then all the you look up, he's not in the league anymore.
Jake Seely
So I tell you where he goes. If he gets cut, by the way, where's he going?
Andrew Erickson
Atlanta. He's going to Pittsburgh. Oh yeah.
Jake Seely
McCarthy has no wide. He's a three wide offense and he has nobody. He's gonna need wide receivers. But anyway I like that call with Dable. I actually would include that entire room because of the day ball factors coming in. Because if Wandell wouldn't just kill him and if he's with the team Wanda would hurt DK too which would be a lot of fun loss put him in that role with Dable, probably more.
Andrew Erickson
DK in the strict like gadget gadgety role.
Jake Seely
This entire room could be destroyed in free agency.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Good times.
Andrew Erickson
All the Van Jefferson. All the Van Jefferson taking shots.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Let's not do that please. All right. Let's talk about a tight end who could have their potential value in danger. The Theo Johnson. Certainly a guy that comes to mind for you. Jake. Let's talk about him.
Jake Seely
This is the easiest one out there probably in this entire list because what did immediately everybody do as soon as John Harbaugh signed with the Gian. Oh, Isaiah likely Tyler Linderbaum. They're both going to the Giants. But what's the more likely one is Isaiah likely. No pun intended there. The Theo Johnson would be interesting if he was the guy under John Harbaugh. And you understand that Harbaugh is going to use his tight end. He likes to get him a matchup problems. And Theo Johnson is a matchup problem. Let's be clear about that. But he's also somebody who has shown so far that Eric Ebron situation we got going on over here. Like catch the damn ball, dude. Like that's the problem right now. And you think that Harbaugh hasn't seen this film and coming in and being like, you know what, you know, who I know can catch the ball, you know I know can be a matchup threat? Is Isaiah likely. The Giants cap situation is very easily manipulated. Right now they're at 7. You could get to 60 in a blink with restructures and a few cuts. And that's the big thing about it. I think the Giants are more in play than people realize for both of them. More so likely it likely comes in Theo Johnson's dead.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
That's sad. I would just say Matt Nagy meeting there that that just kind of kills most fancy value. He's kind of a fancy killer, but not as funny as me being frozen and dead. All right, Jake Ferguson, is he dead in his spot here? Andrew Erickson in 2026?
Andrew Erickson
Well, he's not dead in terms of he's still going to be the Cowboys starting tight end, but I think that he's dead at in terms of being a locked and loaded fantasy tight end one because when you look at the situation with George Pickens, most likely being franchise tagged by the Dallas Cowboys likely means he's going to be coming back. Now they could always tag him and trade him. We'll see how things kind of shake out here. But when Lamb and Pickens played with Jake Ferguson last year, 7.3 points per game, very average middle line tight end production, nothing special. When Lamb was out for a period of time, beginning of the season, Ferguson was up to 13.5 points per game. So you can see his fantasy value teetering significantly based on whether Pickens returns to Dallas Cowboys or not. Because without Pickens, okay, like Ferguson, you can feel good about drafting him as one of these laid around tight ends who can finish as a top 10 option. But if those two guys, those two Alphas are back in this passing game, well, Jake Ferguson is going to be fighting an uphill battle to be like a fantasy titan that you draft. But how confident now high is the weekly ceiling going to be? Again, Ferguson, I'm not so sure that he is this super dynamic player where career alone yards per catch last year at 7.3 touchdowns really carried his finish last season. So if he's not catching as many touchdowns because of these other two guys in the offense didn't have more than 20 receiving yards in his last four games. So I have a lot of concerns about Jake Fergus, especially where he's going to be drafted probably in that middle tier of tight end. And traditionally those are really bad bets to make. So Jake Ferguson for me is trending like a titan that I'm not going to be drafting a lot next year.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, there you go. So those are five guys from each of the boys there that they are concerned about going into 20, 26 free agency in the NFL. We're going to get some more names for you in a second. Before we do, just want to let everybody know we got a fantasy football championship belt to give away too, for the winner in your league. Excuse me, from our epic fantasy football hardware store, Trophy Smack. Trophy Smack is the number one destination for epic fantasy football. Belts, rings, everything. Fantasy football. I got a couple of them myself. They are awesome. All right, let's do a little lightning round. James Conner, Aaron Jones, Michael Penix, let's start with you. Jake Seeley, James Conner, free agency. How could it affect him in 2026? Is he just done? No, he's.
Jake Seely
He's like Theo Johnson, you're done.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Done.
Jake Seely
Unless this meniscus for Theo or Theo, Trey Benson is more complicated than people thought. Like, I know he never came back last year, but it was a meniscus. It was arthroscopic. Like Trey Benson being back is already. James Connor's done, let alone at this point of his career.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
He's a timeshare piece all right, Andrew Erickson, Aaron Jones, another veteran running back. What are your thoughts on him? Has he done as well?
Andrew Erickson
3Rd highest running back cap hit at $15 million for a guy that has not been able to stay healthy. Didn't even look like the number one running back at times in the Vikings backfield last year, age 31. I mean he's probably going to get cut so that's not good for his fantasy value. Again he could land somewhere. Maybe he ends up going to Pittsburgh too, reuniting with Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers if they lose Kenneth Gainwell. But when guys get cut, their value does not usually bounce back right away. So I think that free agency is going to hurt Jones because I think he's going to be on the open market.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, is free agency going to hurt Michael Penix at all? We didn't really get into the quarterback vibes too much here. We just touched on McCarthy. Some veterans are out there and some guys that you know could be jettisoned as well. Malik Willis, the guy that's been talked about a lot. What do you think new coach could Michael Penix be? Not necessarily Stefanski's cup of tea, Jake.
Jake Seely
I think that he could see it, try to work with him. I think what Pennx showed was enough for us. In fantasy though, like I'm not that concerned about it because Penx is 90% his arm, 95% his arm and we already saw like what was he, 13, fancy? He was at the bottom. He was at like 28, 29th of quarterbacks of fancy points per game. So maybe he can get a little bit more out of him. But for us in fantasy, I'm not that worried about it. It's more for what he does for the pieces with Penix more than Penix himself.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
What do you think Erickson, about the panic situation with Stefanski too? I imagine you take the job thinking part of it is like all right, you like the young quarterback they have, don't you think?
Andrew Erickson
I mean he's not that young that's a starter. Like he's not that. I mean I think that you like Bijan and Drake, London and like those pieces like Pennix is not again, remember McCarthy's more incomplete but it's not like Pennix has this illustrious two year career that, oh he's. I mean he's coming off another torn acl, like his fifth torn acl. So I think there is some hesitance there. They have to get another backup quarterback in there. So I know that they're going to cut Kirk Cousins. But I've also read that they could cut him and then he could come back on a cheaper deal. So you can't like completely rule him out returning to an offense and a player caller that he has worked with before. They could sign Joe Flacco, right? Michael Penix plays the first four weeks. Doesn't look the right. Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco put him in. Put him in. That becomes a concern. And then Jacoby Brissette's another free agent that has worked or, excuse me, another quarterback that could get moved depending on what Arizona wants to do with their quarterback situation. Has also played with Stefanski. So I think it's just important because the Falcons are going to add another quarterback. They have to like, currently Kirk Cousins is going to get cut and Michael Penix is injured. I don't know if they have a third quarterback on the roster. So whoever they end up bringing in as that second guy I think is just someone to keep and monitor because of Pennix doesn't look right coming off. I don't know how long his leash is going to be. I mean, like, has he really locked into, like, oh, we got to give him the full season. I don't know if it's that easy, especially with the new head coach and if he's like, dude, I can get production out of Flacco with all these playmakers, I'm not waiting around for Pennix. Like, give me Flacco Erickson.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
If free agency started tomorrow, who's the one player you're most out on?
Andrew Erickson
Of everybody we talked about my ECR ranking or my rankings would say that it's Woody Marks because I'm much lower on him versus consensus.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Jake, same question to you. Who would you most be out on?
Jake Seely
I mean, outside of McCarthy, it'd be.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Crosby, Merritt, Cross merit. Okay, who would you most be in on? And you most. Let's leave it on a high note to be excited about somebody. Free engine started tomorrow. Who's the one player you're most excited about?
Jake Seely
Jake, Is it. It has to be from what we talked about today. No, no.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
It could be any free agent. Just out of curiosity that you're most like, I want to see this guy there. I know we're going to be digging deeper into it for. You know, I like to leave things on a positive note. It's kind of a. A negative show where we're talking about the landmines of this future of some of these players. It's nice to be positive.
Andrew Erickson
So.
Jake Seely
Well, I feel like the obvious name is we'll just let Erickson take it. I'm not saying that. I'm not coming for Ericsson by saying that. I feel like that's the obvious name, so I'll say the other one. And I know everybody's going to come for me. Be like, oh, the Bell Cow. You said last year, blah, blah, blah. But, like, didn't listen for the entire month of August. But I would be most. Would be most excited if Kenneth Walker is not in Seattle next year, because if somebody pays him to bell cow what we just saw happen in the playoffs with no Charbonnet, what we just saw in the super bowl, what we've seen with Kenneth Walker, and that would be good. And this is why, because it'd be good for Charbonnet, too. Like, I want both of them cleared out. We've seen Charbonnet put up top 15 numbers, top 10 numbers.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Yeah, but Charbonne is going to be so delayed into the season. They would be bad for the Seahawks.
Jake Seely
Is it really into the season? I'm sorry. I thought. I thought he was ready for week one.
Andrew Erickson
Potentially a torn acl. Tor.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Acl. He's going to be out for, I would say till November, October, like the.
Andrew Erickson
Earliest probably, if he's nine to 12 months.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
No, it was ACL tear on. On sharpening.
Jake Seely
So, like that I missed the argument. I thought it was. I thought it was. I thought it was a sprain. I didn't know.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
No, I think what you're. You're confusing. There was another one, somebody else that they thought it was an ACL and it wasn't. I think you're confusing it with the Gardner Minshew injury where it was like, acl. It's not acl. It turns out it's actually. Okay.
Jake Seely
Yeah, whatever. There's both a. In there, so.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
But, like, it's end of the year. We kind of, you know, it's a long.
Jake Seely
You can even open that up, too. Like, so, like, Kenneth Walker, somebody else. And then somebody's brought into the Seahawks to replace Kenneth Walker. Point being, you know, everybody's say Brace hall, the Chiefs and Bruce Hall. I'll let. I'll let Andrew say where he.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Well, the argument people will make about Walker will be, well, they. They kept him healthy by not doing the full workload because historically that's been a big problem for him. And I. I don't know like this. I'm kind of curious to see it at this point. Yeah, you're right.
Jake Seely
Let's just throw this one out there. What if the Jaguars with their space. Say goodbye etn. We're bringing in Walker and what we just saw with that offense takeoff under cone. I mean, I'm just saying there's opportunities. There's not a lot, but there's opportunities where he could be walking into the bell car role we've wished he's had.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
All right, yours, Andrew Erickson. Most excited about player. Who would that be?
Andrew Erickson
All right, just to confirm, The Charbonnet injury January 19, suffered a season ending ACL tear. So just.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
He's no Lindsay Vaughn. Jake Sealy coming back.
Jake Seely
Oh, my God, I feel bad so for her.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Yeah.
Andrew Erickson
All right, let's. Let's spin this Positive. If he's not on the Jets, 31 teams have a chance to save Breeze hall. And I'm here for it. I just want him to go somewhere where he can just be used in an offense where he can maybe score touchdowns. I mean, he rushed for a thousand yards last year on a crappy jets team. We all know how talented this guy is. I mean, Arizona, Houston, Chiefs. I think there are some ripe landing Seattle, I think there are some ripe landing spots for Breece hall where he can be fully unlocked. And the fact that he tweeted before the Super Bowl, I want to play in this game. Well, Breeze, you can't play in that game if you're in New York, so you got to get out of the way.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
That's anyway not with the Jets.
Jake Seely
Hell, for sure, Washington has a ton of cap space. You tell me with Washington wouldn't be super exciting.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
I'd love to see it.
Jake Seely
You said you wanted to end positive, but let's like also a little bit sad at the same time. What if, what if Walker and Hall swapped places? Like Walker actually would win the super.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Bowl and then goes to the Jets. That. No, no, that's not gonna happen.
Jake Seely
Even with the Super Bowl. He wants all the money. I mean, look, and we'd be hating.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
If he wants to do it. Good on him. But I, I, that would be shocking. What do you think? Everybody drop your comments below. Will it. Will anybody sign with the jets this offseason no matter how much money they pay them? I'll sign too. If you throw enough money at me. You know, we'll make it work, me and Aaron.
Jake Seely
Put it this way. You want to pay me a million dollars a year? I'll go kick for the damn Jets.
Joey P (Joe P. Zapia)
Oh, there you go. That's how you know you pushed Jake Sealy too far. All right, great stuff, everybody. Make sure you hang with us the rest of the week too. We've got lots of free agent content coming at you, keep you busy this NFL off season. Of course, check out our new Dynasty channel as well over on YouTube. Go check it out right now. Go subscribe. And of course drop your comments below. Could win a big championship belt from Trophy Smack. That's pretty good. That'll do it for us, but the story of the game goes on. For Andrew Erickson and Jake Cely, I'm Joey P. We'll see you next time, kids.

This is Julian Edelman from Games With Names. I want to take a second to talk about something that's personal to me. I've had the privilege of working closely with Robert Kraft for a long time, and one thing I've always respected is how seriously he takes up standing up to hate. As a Jewish athlete, my identity is something I am proud of, but I also know what it feels like to be singled out for it. That's why this new commercial for the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate that aired during the big game really hit home. Guests: Jake Seeley (The Athletic), Andrew Erickson (Undertaker), occasional interjections from Bowen Yang
This episode dives deep into the NFL offseason, focusing on players and position groups most at risk of losing their jobs—or significant fantasy value—in the wake of the upcoming 2026 free agency period. Using both fantasy football and real-life NFL team strategy lenses, the hosts highlight which young talents, established veterans, and entire positional units are most vulnerable to roster moves, and who might benefit or decline as a result.
