I said it was called the Dan Beyer backwards hat. Casual Friday. I love it. I thought that. Yeah, extra casual on Friday. I love it. So casual. I got my gym outfit on. Check it out. Straight from the gym. Getting a weekend going. Well, there's a deep thought about the gym. We're gonna get to some NBA Rafael Devers in the news. Belichick or Cavino are gonna play a game today. Yeah, we got prizes, but I want to throw it out there real quick. Right quick. I said the CNR Experience. We love hanging with you guys every day. It's the best part of our day. As far as experiences go. Would you say Star wars at Disney, Cars at Disney, or Harry Potter World at Universal? I'm gonna throw one more in there. I'm not a fan of the brand, but if you've seen it, you'll know what I'm talking about. Avatar World or whatever it's called. Avatar Land in Disney World in Florida. It's insane. Oh, what about Super Mario? That whole world they got going on at Universal. Cars Land at California Adventure park is right up there. That ride is sweet. That's a top five. Rod, what experience is the best besides ours? I don't know. Leave it to the Fox Sports Radio Nation. 87799 on Fox. Yes, the most inclusive show, most interactive show on radio, the world famous Covino and Rich. We got Danny G. Super producing Happy Friday is right. 87799 on fuzzy headed ninny muggins known as Iowa. I'm sorry, Javier from Iowa. I've got a product in my hair today, so it's not fuzzy. I am Javier. Oh, there you go. I'm heavy hair Javier. We found out that I was Sam's confirmation name yesterday. We were talking about the Pope and everything. His confirmation name was Javier. Threw me for a loop. He's the whitest guy you've ever met. Look at the top of your rundown I printed out for you. Oh, Javier, Sam. I put the Twitter handles. No, it's not my Twitter handle at the top, but I put Javier, Sam 99 Sam. I don't know if you could ever live that one down. I love it so much, Javier. And of course DB's got your updates. We got Prizes. We got fun. Take it away, Rich. We're broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studio. Before we get into the fun, one last thing about the CNR experience and all those fun parks. I realized that when your kids get involved. I know you love that expression, get involved. Getting involved, bro. Then your buddies used to say that, and that meant, like, going to meet girls and drinking and stuff. Yeah, we're getting involved this weekend. Getting involved. When your kids get involved. Travel, baseball, travel, soccer, softball, heat. You know, all these. Travel, gymnastics. I don't think families can vacation the way they did in the 80s and 90s. Because I know families that for the next couple months are like, oh, sorry. Every weekend's, you know, some tournament. And if you go, your kid falls behind. I get it. It's. It's wild. You don't want your kid to miss out. I only had one rule as a kid. When we were playing Summer All Stars, my coach was like, on game day, you can't go to the pool because you'll show up to the game, all, like, lethargic, and you were in the sun all day. So he would make sure none of the team went to the pool on, you know, a tournament game. But that was the only rule. Now I feel like my daughter's having a birthday party in a week. Half her team is like, we're doing summer travel. Can't make. It's wild. Why do the coaches in these travel leagues expect the parents to do? If the parents have to go away somewhere, that's their one time of the year where they can take a vacation. Look, vacation. That's. I was gonna say, growing up, we didn't take vacations. Really. That's just not how I grew up. We weren't summering in the Hamptons or anything like that. If we went to Sesame Place, that was a big deal. You went to Hershey Park. Or we went to the Jersey Shore. Right. So it was never an issue for me. But let's say the parents want to go to the way. What do they expect the kids to do? Sorry, no family vacations tournament in Santa Clarita this week. Plus, you're paying an arm and a leg just to get these kids enrolled. Now you can't travel. You're basically driving them everywhere. Hey, it's your life, bro. Now or never. You said it. Yeah, I did say baseball, basketball, Belichick. A lot to get to. So let me kick it off. No. No waiting. No dilly dallying. Let me ask you about this. We were talking about the Knicks Celtics game three. By the way, do we officially get confirmation Paul Pierce did walk 20 miles to work? He did, right? So I, you know, so not winded. Like, that's like Forrest Gump running. Like, I'm gonna stop now. Like, that doesn't look like a man that ran 20 miles if he didn't do it. At least he put the production value effort into what he did yesterday. Agreed. Danny G, can I share a little information here? Yeah. So, Sean Merriman, former San Diego Charger, friend of the show, Friend of the show, Sean Merriman, he tweeted out this was at 1109 Pacific time last night. He said, mad respect lol at Paul Pierce. And then he screenshotted a Grok AI summary and it says that the step count of 33,465 from Paul Pierce on May 8, 2025 appears genuine based on available evidence. And it goes on to, wow. He publicly committed to walking 15, 20 miles after the Celtics loss. And then he says. And then the grok AI summary says news outlets like NESN and tmz, along with his own social media confirm he completed the journey, which took about eight hours. Hey, I'm happy to hear Paul Pierce. Look at that. Man of his word.2 mile route and he shared a map of the route. And he is the truth. You know what, it's true. And you got to commit to the bit. Have you ever seen that sports documentary about the woman that cheated on the marathon? Yeah, she took the subway. Subway. And popped out at the finish line. Yeah, that's a great move. But speaking of Paul Pierce, Celtics, will they recover? Game three. They have to. At the Garden. New York City. That's going to be the hottest ticket. It's going to be rocking, man. It's going to be insane. It's going to be such a scene. And it's the hottest ticket in town. Look, we're from the east coast. You guys know that. But we're out here in the mean streets of la. Live from the barrios, Covino and Richard. But all of our friends, my brother, his friends, they're all trying to get that ticket because the Knicks are hot right now and Celtics are coming. Former champs, defending champs coming to the Garden, celebrity status, high ticket prices, and last I checked, like 650 for the weak ass seats. I got to check it right now while you check subhub or seatgeek. The weak ass. Just actually search weak ass seat and see what comes up. Yeah, they were like six to seven hundred dollars. So here's my Question. If you are in a city where your team is hot and that ticket is expensive, how much of a purchase does it need to be before you run it by the wifey, the girlfriend, the husband, the boyfriend? Like, what? What, do you have a limit where you need to run it by the other person? Well, we have a rule. It's an old rule. Prices have gone up, inflation shrinkflation, everything's kicked in. Times are different. Our old rule used to be this. If you're a dude and you're making your own money, but again, respectfully, you have a wife and you're trying to keep her posted on your purchases. If you're out and about, and let's say you're at a Best Buy or at a PC Richards, is this also 2005? You're at a Circuit City, guys. You're at an electronics store. Yes. Miss that place. We used to say anything over five hundo had to be run by your wife. We're not saying ask permission, but we used to say you'd run it by out of respect. So you don't just show up, you know, at home with a big, giant box and you didn't even tell her about it. But nowadays, too, how many boxes do you show up to every day at home? Yeah, it's like those rules were out the window. No. No one ran those prices by you. I remember this came up because I bought a car once, Danny. I decided I need a new car. I went to the dealership, and Camino's like, oh, what does your wife think? I'm like, oh, I haven't told her yet. It's like, you bought a car. I'm like, yeah, it's not a permission thing. It's like, hey, I'm just running it by letting you know it's a courtesy. So we used to say 500 was the limit for that. I would say with inflation, it actually makes each dollar we have more valuable. So $300 right now is the mark where me and my wife let each other know. Yeah, this was over $300, just so you know. That's a good point, man. Yeah. So what is that number now? If nick's tickets are 6, $700 a ticket for the weakest seat, you just buy those and not run it by anybody? Yeah. If your wife's like, I'm going to Beyonce with my girlfriends, do you. Do you feel like it's polite to say, by the way, it was 500? I think you can. I think you can. Because again, we said times have changed, right? How many boxes, honestly, a week or packages come in the mail that you had no clue of. They weren't ran by you or discussed in any way at all. And yeah, maybe some of it's for the house, but half of it, you don't even. What's in that package? No one cares about you when it comes to ordering stuff. Does it matter? So does it matter if you rule? Does it matter if you or her is the breadwinner? No. Because if you're in a committed relationship. Right. It's respect. It's sort of just a respect sort of thing. I don't think you need to. But they chip away $40 at a time. But it all adds up. I know it does. But, yeah, that's the loophole. All that adds up if you're making one purchase. Think about it. If you're a guy, of course, men and women are both listening, so both feel free to chime in at 87799 on Fox. How many of those packages are strictly and solely for you throughout a month? Danny. Danny. One. Danny. So, right, dg, you nailed it. I looked at my credit card a couple months ago, and I was like, did someone buy a new vehicle? 40, 30, 28, 40, 60, 20, 40. And again, these are things. Amazon. Jeff Bezos should send me an edible Arrangement. You're right. Sometimes these things just add up. And what do a lot of people say? Oh, it's for the kids. I needed to get the kid, but the kids. Some of it is necessities for the house. I get it. But how much of it is for the house? A lot of it is just, I'm bored and I'm online shopping. Right, right, right. And how many of that is usually for you? Like I said, if I get one package a month, that's a lot. So no one runs that by you. And I don't know how much you have to run by if you're going to one game because your team finally made it this far and out of kindness, you want to be respectful to your partner again, it's not asking for permission. I never want to be the guy that's like, honey, is it okay if I get these golf clubs? Like, that guy is a wimp. Oh, I couldn't. I was. I was close. Sam, your finger was on that button. That guy's a wimp. Never be the guy that's like, honey, I need permission. But out of respect, because you want to be a good man, you discuss these things with your significant other. But I do ask, do you fudge the amount. Sometimes if I'm in Vegas with you guys and I get a little carried away at the craps table, I may trim a few hundred off of how much I lost. When I'm talking to my wife, I go, babe, how are you doing? Bad day at the tables. What you lose? I'm like 600, 400. When you're talking money round down. When you're talking inches, always round up inches. You round up money round down. According to the AI overview, and I'm not talking Allen Iverson, Knicks tickets for the game against the Celtics at the Garden. Man, what a matchup. Are ranging from Approximately. It's up now 7:21-$2,000 a ticket, depending on the specific seat location and secondary market pricing. Some sources indicate that the average price for Nick Celtics games can approach two GS. So look, how often does your team get this far? This is an exceptional matchup. The Knicks, everyone's excited about it. It's one of those, yo, you were there for that. You know, you want to do it for the gram. You want to take some pictures, you want to tell the story. It's basically a must win for the Celtics, though, and they've waited a long time. You may go there to watch the Celtics win. I would be so upset as a Knicks fan, spending all that money. And it's a game really the Celtics have to have. But as a fan, too, you also feel part of that victory because the Celtics are coming to the Garden. I think they're entering real, real furious territory. Like, real excited energy levels that we haven't seen in years at the Garden. So the question really is, guys, we broke it down. You get packages all the time. Money's being spent all the time. But if you're going to spend, let's say, over 700, right? Over $700 for a ticket, Nick's ticket, Nick's ticket, or any important ticket that is for you, do you have to run it by wifey or the girlfriend or your significant other, whoever it is, listen, some couples run so independently of each other that this isn't even a question. Like, some people have separate accounts and they do their own thing. Here's another angle. If you're going to a concert, if you're like, yeah, I'm getting sweet seats to the Foo Fighters, or, you know, your wife or girlfriend. Sonic Temple this weekend, Metallica, a bunch of bands in Ohio playing this weekend. If you're going. If your wife went to go see Taylor Swift in spring, a ton of money a year ago, that's a guaranteed joyous night. Like if you go see Metallica. Yeah, you're going to have a great time. Regardless. Regardless. I'm going to speak on the other side of that, where I spent a couple grand to go see the Mets. Dodgers in the playoffs last year. Whole family, cotton candy, hot dogs, everything. Met Scott, smoked. So I left being like, man, I'm an idiot. By the way, tickets are still available, 99% sold out for Sonic Temple this weekend in Ohio. Corn. Let's see, we got corn, we got Metallica, Linkin Park, Incubus, Alice in Chains. Damn, that's a hell of a show. Oh, man. Yeah, it's a few days insane. So tickets are still available. But anyway, again, you know the point. You get the question. 87799 on Fox. The more I think about it and the more have times have changed, women are spending so much money or your significant other spending so much money on things that you don't even know about. I think you can get away with this one because it's the playoffs and it's a big game. You're. We're insinuating your team hasn't been there in a long time. And, and I'll tell you this, listen, you could say, you could say, well, that's sexist, rich. I, I don't think it is. You know, my wife does a way better job than I do about making sure things are kept up for the kids. But any package I get in the mail, you know what it is? It's like, oh, I ran out of deodorant, so I ordered on Amazon. Oh, I, you know, I need a new little wire for my laptop. I got it on am. Are you getting anything really for yourself? Never ever, dude, if I buy a hat, like a hat once in a while, like, that's it. I have a new Yankees cap. I'm never buying anything. Oh, I ran out of hair product. Let me buy, like, that's my deliveries. So let's think about it. Let's chop it up. Let's get involved. 87799 on Fox. Some great games. Do you have to run it by. Who do we got? We're gonna go to all your phone calls. Danny G's on there right now. 87799 on Fox. And while we get those phone calls lined up, I want you to start thinking about something else as well. Raphael Devers, a guy that started the season like ass, but he since turned it around a bit. He's always, in his defense, always been a great, great hitter, great player. For the Red Sox. As a Yankees fan, Yankees killer. Like, I'm like, this dude is incredible. Raphael Devers, one of those guys that thinks. Excuse me, I'm getting emotional. Okay, man, you all right? If I choke and fall in the air, is that good ratings? By the way, did you see that woman pass out on Fox News? I'm sorry. This is relevant because I'm, like, choking. Are you sure you're not having, like, an add attack or something? No. Excuse me. This is hilarious. Imagine you and I are doing our show. We do every day. Yeah, It's a guy and a girl on Fox News. Middle of the broadcast, the girl's like. And coming up, we're gonna talk about the tariffs. Faints. The guy looks. She's laying out. He's like, could someone help her? Coming up on five o' clock. He doesn't stop. He doesn't miss a beat. I haven't seen that. He doesn't miss a beat. If I fall, I want you to keep going. Okay. Looks like she fainted. Good to know, dude. She fainted and the guy doesn't miss a beat. He's like. And yesterday, Pope Leo. And it's like, dude, a woman is laying unconscious next to you. No, Rich, professional, don't go. You know, let's go to your phone calls now. Go dying on me now. I'm back. Sorry, I almost choked for a second. Chris, Alberta, line one. We'll start with you, buddy boy. What's up, man? I could be known. Rich. Hey, I was just. Hey, I was just doing a quick search on Grok there on the. On the X platform. And I typed in, did Paul Pierce walk barefoot through LA for 8 or 9 hours? Something to that verbatim. And Grok replied, there is not enough solid and credible evidence to report that Paul Pierce did that. Well, you know what? Even if he didn't, and if it. If he did a little something, at least he. He faked the funk on a nasty dunk. Yeah, at least he tried. Or if you put at least two to three hours into your bet or promise, then at least you paid something off. Yeah, I got him there. Elijah and Fresno. What's up, man? Elijah. Elijah, you're on. Oh, hey, guys. Hey, guys, I'm sorry. What's up, man? I always frame my large purposes or my large purchases. I'm sorry, I can't speak right now as surprises, so I'll be like, hey, guess what, guys? We're going to Lakers game five tomorrow. Oh, so you make it seem like everything's a gift like, oh, wow. Oh, but hold on. But you're including your significant other. Oh, I took my. Took my 5 year old with us this time. He's not going with us again. Okay. A bunch of. A bunch of money on tickets like two rows up from the floor. And as soon as we sat down, he sighed and pointed up and said, I want to sit up there. Well, that's a way safer move to include, like your wife and your family. Yeah, you're on a budget, but you included them. You made them part of it. That's a safer move. I was thinking, like, you're just going either solo, right, or bringing a friend, that you're going with your buddy Mo in Tempe. You're on. What's up, buddy? Hey, Mo. Hey, guys. Afternoon. So I got it. I've been with my wife over 20 years, so as long as you're not dipping into the savings, you know, I mean, I don't think the permission thing is necessary. Like you said, out of respect, you still give her the heads up, but if you're smart, you get her something. Just get her a small gift or something. I know what you're saying, like, pat it a little bit. Like, hey, babe, I got you. I thought of you and bought you, I don't know, got you a massage. Yeah. Oh, by the way, I'm going to the playoffs. Yeah. In Rich's case, I bought a brand new car, but I got you a muffin from Starbucks. You know the type of retorts. Got you a banana loaf. That's actually great advice, man. Tim in D.C. what's up, buddy boy? Tim. Hey, guys. Quick on the Fox News girl. Yeah, I don't think she actually passed out. I think she just was eating her words and said, I gotta just bail. I think she just hit the floor. She did not know how to finish that sentence. But it's a wild club, by the way. I know I was a tangent, but look that up later, Camino. If you haven't seen it, she just. I haven't seen it. Yeah, but it's buying those tickets to the Knicks game a form of gambling. Like, if they win, you're walking on air, you're taking a limo home, but it's the Knicks lose and I'm out $1,000. Like, I'm not even taking the subway home. I'm walking home. Life's a risk, Garnell. It is. It is definitely a risk. You're hoping they win. I remember going to a Mets game seven and they lost, and it was rainy out And I didn't. I honestly, I walked halfway. I walked through Queens for, like, three subway stops. Like, I just don't even want. I don't want to. I hate life. I remember a time you drove through the desert. Yes. After. After the 49ers lost the super bowl, and I was there. I hated life so much that I rented a car and drove home. I didn't want to wait for my flight. You know what, man? You may think it's a sexist sort of take, and I'm not trying to be, but if you're. If you're a man, like, absolutely. Like a Rocky Balboman. Like Rocky Balboa. Like. Like I'm a man. Smell mainly. Absolutely. I don't ask you to stop being a woman, you know, like, don't stop asking me. Be a man. And you make your own money. And you're not in debt or anything. Right? You're a good guy. You make your own money. I think you just do it just to establish again that you're the man. Right? Like, it's not like you're at the nudie bar wasting money. Your team made it to the playoffs. You're pumped about it. You bought a ticket. It doesn't need much explanation if you're a responsible guy. I don't think you know a lot of our significant others. Yeah, no, I'm just saying. But this is a way to reestablish, like, a reset kind of, you know, let's go to. Where are we going? Are we going to dc? We talked to. We did. Right. Let's go to Vegas, then. Las Vegas. What's up, Truck? Hey, gentlemen. Good afternoon. So, hey, here's a good spin on this. It's not how much you're allowed to spend, but one time with my ex, she found a credit card statement who had spent a little under $4,000, but it was on her. So therefore, it's no limit when you're buying her something. Gotcha. Yeah, but that's the double standard, right? If your wife or girlfriend wanted some expensive bag, is she stopping you from buying it? So you can't buy yourself a sweet playoff ticket? Do what you want, Mario. Wrap it up in El Paso, and then we'll talk a little baseball, a little Rafael Devers. What's up, man? What up? I've been with my wife for 31 years. And the secret to my success, or happiness, I should say, is I treat her. I buy her stuff all year long. So there's no limit. When I want to go do something with the boys. I love it. She don't ever. You don't ever ask questions, Mario. That goes with my theory of my whole marriage, which is, I know I try to be good on a regular basis. Just be a really, like, thoughtful guy so that when I do dumb things, my wife's like, well, yeah, he's really nice. Money in the bank. Yeah, I feel like I'm banking it, essentially. Money in the bank. And let me make it clear, I'm not saying to keep secrets and don't tell and lie about it, but, yeah, I think you get that ticket, dude. If you're a good dude, get it, do it. All right. Well, hey, coming up, we got a lot to get to. We're going to play Belichick or Covino. Yeah. We're going to talk some baseball. Rafael Devers. And there's a really funny viral story about the gym, and I think it's gonna be our most fun conversation of the day. It has to do with the rules. Don't over promise, buddy. The rules of closing. In fact, I promise it'll be the best conversation today on FOX Sports Radio overall. All right, we got more CNR next. Now, Danny G's rocking that sweet hat right now. I love that hat, that Travis Matthew hat. When you are familiar with the logo, you see it everywhere now. Everywhere. And they really stepped it up because it was something synonymous with golf. Like, man, that's a nice shirt. Where'd you go? Oh, it's golf shirt. Travis Matthew. But now it's every day, and you're gonna be seeing them all summer long because they're high quality. They're sweet. I love their T shirts. I love the shorts. I just love. I just love it all. Rich. You just love Travis Matthew. Yeah, I really do. Yeah. What do you. Why do you marry him? Experience the ultimate comfort and movement with Travis Matthew pants. I talk about those featherweight jeans. Honestly, they're as comfortable as any joggers or gym sweats I have, but they look. I wonder if Jose Aldo wears those in the ufc. Octagon. Let me tell you, tho, those stretchy featherweight Travis Matthew pants are so good looking for a date night. But I said, like, you could go to the gym in them if you wanted. They're that stretchy. Discover the perfect pair of shoes. They got great footwear. Travis Matthew, everything you need. If you're trying to gear up for the spring or summer, you got to refresh the closet every so often, guys. You don't want to look like the old guy that doesn't care. And Our bonus podcast, episode 91 debuted yesterday. We talked about a new home run stat we talked about. Remember else we talked about or no? Oh yeah. We talked about how Covino loves the new mammoth logo in the NHL. So can you wear gear of a team you don't care about because the logo's cool or is that like such a. I watched it on YouTube. You talked about the 100 men versus well, not zimmers. The Zimmers. Yeah, the latest version. Can 100 zimmers beat one? Pedro? Yeah, we talked it all on over promised episode 91. That's on Fox Sports Radio YouTube page. Swore you weren't going to bring that up again. Yeah, exactly. And right now we're live for from Fox Sports Radio studio Fridays here. And anything else, Rich, as far as getting those tickets, enjoying the game this weekend? No, I. I do think though that out of courtesy we should always run things by our significant other. Not for permission but for, you know, just being a good partner run by. I think you just like keep him in the loop. Yeah, that's it. That's all. But I am down to talk some Raphael Des. You know Raphael Des more than I do. Only because you're an AL east fan. You watch the Yankees every day your life. I don't blame you. Fun team to watch. And by the way, have you seen the stat about how In May, Juan Soto leads Aaron Judge in every statistical category. Juan Soto's getting hot. Is Judge getting cold? I mean, nine days into it. I mean, nine days is still nine days, isn't it? Nueva de Mayo. Relax. I know all month. I'm going to go Spanish. Let me pull up Dever's stats here. I don't know if really matters much, but the dude's a proven player. He had a bad start. Like you already said, the historically bad start. Remember, he was over 18 with 15 strikeouts. Yeah. Now he, believe it or not, he's betting 255, which is decent considering how he started. And in today's game, six dongs, six bombs, 25 RBI. That's what he's doing right now. But 25 ribies for a guy that started that bad. My goodness, the guy turned the season around. He really star. I don't care what anyone. Great hitter, career two.78 hitter. Already has over 200 career home runs. 206 career home runs started in 2017. He's been in the league nine years already. But the dude is good, right? Safe to say, yeah, but he also played third base for the Red Sox. Then the Red Sox got Bregman. Mm. And he was like, yeah, but I'm still the third baseman, Right? They're like, no, no, you're not. You're the dh. But now they want him to play first base. So he was the DH all season long. Now they want him to play first base. And now Devers is saying, yeah, I don't want to do that. And I'll quote him. Here's what he really said. I know he's upset. He's like, nah. He said, I know I'm a ballplayer, but at the same time, they can't expect me to play every single position out there. In spring training, they talked to me and basically told me to put my glove away, that I wasn't going to play any other position but Dharma. So right now I just feel like it's not an appropriate decision by them to ask me to play another position. It was the GM that I spoke with. I'm not sure what he has with me. He played ball, and I would like to think he knows that changing position like this isn't easy. That's Rafael Devers speaking on why he doesn't want to move to first base. Now, there's two ways to look at this. Like, hey, man, we pay you a lot of money. And by a lot. You know what? That a lot is 313 million over 10 years. So get out there and play ball. Right? You to clean up the sunflower seeds in the dugout. And we need you to play million dollars a year. So you can look at it that way. Like, hey, dude, we're not asking you to do something out of the, out of the norm. We're asking you to play first base or out of the. Well, I guess it is out of the norm because he doesn't play first base. But it's still baseball. You're a professional ball player, right? I get it. Or you could say, dude, we're talking on the highest of levels to get out to a position he's not familiar with. He was a third baseman again. And play first base, which requires a specific, a particular set of skills. Right? I would say, aside from catcher, first base would be the. What are you, Liam Neeson? No, but it is. You have to know how to. You have to know how to scoop, you have to know how to stretch, you have to know how to cover. First base does require a specific skill set that he's not familiar with. It's not like Sunday softball where you put your fat buddy at first base, right? This is Major League Baseball. So I mean, it's one thing to jump out there in Sunday softball, but on a high level to get out there and you don't feel confident about it, and it's not your position, you don't feel good about it. If you play bad, you're just ruining your own reputation. Again, it's not Little League. We already had a tough year. It's not Little League where you put the tall kid or the lefty at first base. This is. Every position in Major League Baseball is of the highest skill now. So I'm just giving you both sides so that you could think about it and weigh it out. And we're gonna figure out, well, who's wrong here. I have my opinions, Rich has his. We'll go around the room, we'll take your phone calls. Should he just go out there and shut up or should he go out there and take a risk and embarrass himself? And then everyone's pointing at him like he's doing something wrong. He's like, hey, I didn't sign up to play first. I'm not a first baseman. Now, money isn't everything, but when you make 300 plus million dollars over 10 years, that's a hell of a lot of money to play a kid's game and have fun. But he's deserved it and earned it based on the market value and what Rafael Devers. I think who I'm blaming is endeavors. It's. I sort of blame the Red Sox for going after Alex Bregman, which they should have. The guy's batting over.300. He has nine home runs, 30 ribies. He's a star. You want Bregman on your team. But when Alex Rodriguez, who you could argue is significantly better than any of these guys we're talking about, when he went to the Yankees, he's like, listen, I want to play for a winner. Where do you want me to play? Do you want me to play third base because Jeter's your shortstop? Shouldn't there have been a sense of Bregman not wanting to take a superstar's position? Or is Bregman like, yo, you want me on your team? I play third base? I think it was the Red Sox call from the get go that he was just the guy. They didn't really give Devers much of a shot or chance. They. They just said Bregman was the new third baseman. It was sort of a surprise to everybody. And again, this all happens because the Red Sox first baseman Casas had a season ending knee injury. Tristan Casa. So they're like, well, hey, Devers, can you get out there? He's like, what? What? I don't play first base. So is the money the factor? Because how would you approach that at your job? You're like, yo, I don't do that. What if it's just a skill set you don't have? But it's like a dude who lays down tile? All right. It's like a dude who does drywall, right? Yeah, we. We need you to tile. And he's like, yeah, but I don't tile. I mean, I mean, probably figure it out, do it, but it's not going to be that great. I don't tile, then I'm gonna have to deal with the consequences. But that's not what I. That's not my skill set. So, you know what? Think about it. We'd love to hear from you. Are. Are you Team Rafael Devers? You rarely see a player put their team on blast in this way because they're saying they. He's publicly saying they messed up. This is their problem. I don't play first base. Yeah. You know, I'll break it down with one final statement, then we'll go to db. When you play rec sports, if you're playing pickup basketball at the gym or, you know, weekend softball, whatever you do to stay active, pickleball. I always say if someone asks the new guy. Hey, new guy. Hey, where do you play? You know what the only answer is? Wherever you need me. Well, we also talked about this week. You got to be versatile, man, if you're not. We talked about earlier this week the times where people step up because someone goes down. And we also commended it. So we have to be consistent here. We talked about the dude at the Kentucky Derby. We talked about Scott. Remember when Charlie Arnold had to do ring announcing because Joey Martinez got sick? Yeah. She's not a ring announcer, but she did it, became the first woman ever to do it. People step up. People step up is the point. How do you feel about it? We'll take your phone calls, but first and first, mostly your update from the guy, the man, Casual Dan Byers, what's up, db Makes me wish the National League didn't get rid of the dh. Right? Right. You know, what are you going to do? Hey, hey. Gotta play, gotta play. All right, guys. Tonight they are playing two games in the NBA playoffs. Cavaliers and Pacers 7:30 Eastern Time. It's in Indianapolis. Pacers up to all. Cavaliers still listing Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and DeAndre Hunter is questionable for tonight. Thunder and Nuggets play at 10 o' clock Eastern time. That series is tied up at one apiece. Game three in the mile High City. The Celtics say that forward Sam Houser is doubtful for tomorrow's Game three in New York against the Knicks. That's going to be an afternoon tip off on Saturday while the Timberwolves are investigating incidents involving warriors forward Draymond Green. One fan was ejected for violating the fan code of conduct during last night's game. Another fan was accused by those around him of making racially charged comments towards Green. That fan left before being identified by security. On the ice tonight. Leafs and Panthers seven Eastern Stars and Jets skating their game two at 9:30 Eastern Time. Steelers GM Omar Khan said both the team and George Pickens reps felt it was good, a good time for a change of scenery. When they made the deal to send Pickens to Dallas, Khan said Dallas called them and Pickens didn't demand a trade but rather all sides felt that they needed a fresh start. Fox Sports NFL Insider Jordan Schultz as the Cowboys also spoke with the Ravens about a possible deal for wide receiver Rashad Bateman before doing the pick and swap. Abdul Carter's made up his mind. He's going to wear number 51 with the Giants while fellow first rounder Jackson Dart is going to wear number six. And the university of North Carolina releasing a statement today saying that the girlfriend of head football coach Bill Belichick, Jordan Hudson, is who we're talking about, is welcome at the school's football facilities. And while she is not an employee of the school, she is welcome on campus as she manages Belichick Brand outside of the football program. A report earlier today said otherwise. Released their own statement. Back to you guys. Yeah, thanks, Dan Byer. In fact, we're going to play Belichick or Kavino coming up in a little bit for a prize, but we'll take your feedback next. Raphael Devers, or any athlete for that matter that says, I don't play that position, I don't want to do that. It's why he won't play first base. He's saying he won't do it. I don't know what kind of resolution they're going to come to. All right, we'll get all your feedback next right here. Not a storm really, but things come up. Like we just saw that the Oilers won last night ot. I thought how the Edmonton Oilers. And then you had, back in the day, the Houston Oilers. Cooler logo, cooler team. What do you think? Because I saw a meme that said, me, I'm a big Utah mammoth guy. It's funny because mammoth is on now the list of multiple. It's so cool. There's so many little Easter eggs and hidden meanings and there's so many different things. We actually talked about it on over Promise. Check it out. All right. I'm gonna give you five plug. I'm gonna give you five of them. You tell me instinctively, like, cooler franchise. Ok, Cooler franchise. The LA Kings or the Sacramento Kings? I'm going to have to lead Los Angeles, LA Kings, NHL. I mean, just the colors alone. Yeah. Okay. Florida Panthers, Carolina Panthers. Hockey, NFL, Florida Panthers of the NHL or Carolina Panthers? I like the Florida Panthers feel okay. Winnipeg Jets, New York Jets. Are you talking about success or just logos? Do you feel like they're cool? Success, like all together, like vibe, uniform colors, success. East coast kid. It's got to be the New York Jets. Well, Winnipeg right now, though, in this moment. St. Louis Cardinals or Arizona Cardinals? That's a good one. I'm going. Yeah, I'm going. Baseball, St. Louis Classic. New York Rangers of the NHL or Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball? I'm going. Walker. Texas Rangers. Is that okay? Yeah. New York Rangers. Yeah. Both have been winners. Yeah. San Francisco Giants or the New York Football Giants? New York Football Giants. Just because I'm a Dodgers fan. Okay, fair enough. That's a good one. Db, Any standout to you in that? Well, like the Cardinals ones, like, I think you got to go to the original because St. Louis. Arizona came from St. Louis Cardinals. Yes. San Francisco Giants came from New York. So you got to do with a team that stayed there. Yeah. Yeah. So let's get back to it. At least set it up before we take phone calls. Raphael Devers saying he won't play first base. That's where it was at. Won't do it. They need him to play first base. But he was like, yo, I thought I was your dh You. You said I was your dh. I wanted to play third. You said no. What do you think, Brian, in Vegas, can you resist it? Does it make Devers look like a clown or the team look foolish? No. What's up, guys? Rich? Bang Bang Niner gangs, first of all. Bang Bang Niner gang. What's up, bro? Well, so I think it's. I think it spells towards the end of Devers in Boston. I think I didn't even know his character was kind of like, I'm not going to do that because, yeah, I played park league softball. It's funny that you bring that up, Rich. We actually are going to play tonight, but whenever I up on somebody else's team, I tell them first, like, hey, I'm an outfielder. So particularly if you, like, if you want me to play, you want me to come out, you need an outfielder, you let me know. So, yeah, I mean, some people will be like, hey, here's what I do, here's what I play. He is putting his reputation at risk if he decides to play first and he stinks. So what do you guys think?
