Until you got all hyped up Wednesday, what are you so happy about? I want to punch you in the face. Why you so happy?
Rich Davis
You been happy?
Steve Covino
I mean I was happy but now I'm trying to match your happiness. Why are you so happy?
Rich Davis
Good luck.
Steve Covino
I'm kind of happy the Yankees won today, so I'm happy about that.
Rich Davis
I was watching the Mets game on my phone at the gym and I jumped up mid peck deck when startling Marte hit a walk off and Marte dumps one into center field. Base hit. Here comes Alonzo Stevenson's throat to the plate. Too late and the mix have won it seven straight for New York. Marte the hero seven straight. Best record in baseball and forget our bet. I'm just saying I know it's early and we're going to talk about early vibes of Major League Baseball, but five games up on the Phillies any time of the year is fine with me. I mean I know people say well it's only April, but if your team falls too far behind like candle box. Yeah, then I don't know, I feel like you're chasing the whole year. So very rarely does my team jump out hot like this. So hey, Mets won today, a lot of baseball, a lot of NBA playoffs, NFL drafts tomorrow. So a lot to be happy about if you're a sports fan.
Steve Covino
That's why you're happy. I see. All right, so that's Rich Davis. I'm Steve Cavino. We do have a bet who's going to have the best record at the end of the season. The Better record. Yankees or the Mets? Mets on fire right now. Danny G. The Dodgers guy, he's on the phones at 87799. Stocks.
Rich Davis
Oh, a good day in the market today. Look at your stocks.
Steve Covino
All right. So you were doing the pec deck, huh? The pecs for sex, huh? Look at you doing the curls for the girls. And Iowa Sam, he's got the curls for the girls.
Rich Davis
Oh, you know it.
Steve Covino
Look at those curls, man. You're like Curly Sue. He's got that curly hair going on Iowa Sam. Spots on the videos. Getting ready for midweek. Major we do it every Wednesday. Do you believe it's Wednesday? We're halfway there already. So it's the biggest stories in the world of sports and pop culture. We do it today. Plus, DB Is hanging out with us. Always great to hang with the great Dan Beyer. Now I'm going to take a deep breath, come off my Mets Phillies High.
Steve Covino
Who You don't have to celebrate it. Enjoy it while you can. It's a long season.
Rich Davis
Yeah, because you know your team's going to get hot and cold. It just how it is. No doubt there'll be a time where the Mets lose seven in a row. I'm sure so.
Steve Covino
Oh really? That's why you should enjoy it. I meant that I want to ask you a question.
Rich Davis
A little off the sports grid for a second, but not really sure.
Steve Covino
And then I want people to start thinking about this. Let's give props. We're calling it early season props. Plus, Rich has a theory about what does the beginning of the season really mean as far as mlb as the NBA playoffs heating up again, I hope you had a Pacers, Thunders, Lakers sort of night. You know baseball.
Rich Davis
Did you pluralize Thunder Thunders?
Steve Covino
I don't think I did, but thanks for pointing it out and interrupting me.
Rich Davis
Think you did Very Jersey.
Steve Covino
Appreciate it.
Rich Davis
Thunders.
Steve Covino
Baseball's popping. So who we giving props to? Because I got someone I want to nominate. And we'll go through some of the circus numbers we're seeing early in the season.
Rich Davis
But my first question is, it's mildly sports related because they just announced the Golden Bachelor. There's a new Golden Bachelor, and his name is Mel Owens. Former University of Michigan football star turned La Ram.
Danny G
Right.
Rich Davis
Turned La ram in the 80s. He retired, had an injury, became a lawyer.
Steve Covino
He's a lawyer and he's now slain some old lady. Golden Girl booty. Yeah.
Rich Davis
So, no, I'm glad you said that. That's my question. If you had the opportunity, if you're a single guy or divorced and you had the opportunity to go on national television and just make out with a bunch of hot people, but you were criticized, the narrative is that so many people hate the moves you make and who you pick. Would you sign up, if you're Mel Owens, to be the Golden Bachelor? He's gonna. I mean, he's gonna be just going on all these cool dates and making out with old hotties.
Steve Covino
I don't think so.
Rich Davis
Is that a world you would want to be part of?
Steve Covino
He could kind of do that in his own way with all the apps. There's Old Spot. What's the old guy dating app? Is there an old guy. You're probably on that one, right? Is there an old guy dating app? What is. Oh, what is it called?
Danny G
Oh, Farmers only.
Steve Covino
Old Farmers Only. I don't know. Old McDonald's only.
Rich Davis
Oh, I know what it is. I'm sorry. Some fish left. Not plenty of fish. Some fish left.
Danny G
Near death Dot com.
Rich Davis
There's Our time. There's Date My Age. There's Match.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
All Senior Match Silver Singles.
Steve Covino
Are you on a still a Silver fox. And he still has that sweet resume, so he doesn't need to go on TV unless he wants the payday. And there's nothing wrong with that either. I think it's a question, Rich, that really depends on the person. It's like, I'm not that kind of guy. I've said for years, if. If ABC asked me to be on Dancing with the Stars, I'd politely decline. Even though it's a nice payday. I'd be like, no, not my style. And I don't want to be viewed that way. I would feel uncomfortable, and I would feel uncomfortable doing something like that. So it's a case by case situation. Just depends how. On who you are and how you are. And a Ham like you. I could see you leaning into that, but not me.
Rich Davis
Is he on? It's almost over. That's another old person dating app.
Steve Covino
It's almost over.
Rich Davis
It's almost over. I've fallen and I can't get up.
Steve Covino
Yeah, that's a good one.
Rich Davis
Fallen. That's the very old person app. But I asked that because I just saw the headline that they have a newt golden bachelor.
Steve Covino
I think it's cool, though. It's fun for him.
Rich Davis
I don't watch, and I'm not saying I'm above reality tv, but my wife and I over the years have watched the Bachelor. Love is blind. Danny, you've turned me on to what, like, too hot to handle Temptation Island. A lot of these dumb shows, right?
Danny G
Yeah. And of course, our favorite, Love is blind.
Rich Davis
That is the one. I said it.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
So my wife and I will always joke, and my wife's like, you in your 20s would have loved this because it's just a bunch of random, idiotic 20 year olds just making out and hooking up. But then what happens is you re enter the real world. And it's probably a shock because imagine you're the Bachelor. 25 women, even if they don't like you, they're competitive juices like you. So all these girls want to make out with you. They want to go on fantasy dates.
Steve Covino
You're sort of put on a pedestal. Yeah. You know, so you're in a great position of allure. I don't want to say power, but power, too, kind of power. But you're put in this position that, oh, you're somebody and they need to have you, and therefore they fall in love with you quicker as a result. We see it on all these shows. It's crazy. You had this last bachelor who they claimed was a professional basketball player. Like, he played professional basketball, but, like, in Europe and here and there. And, you know, you should have seen all these ladies fighting over him like, he was the greatest guy that ever was.
Rich Davis
And listen, I'm sure he could be a great guy. My point is, if you are put in the power position of the golden or regular bachelor, it's you handing out roses and all these beautiful women, like, please, I hope he gets me a rose. It's a position you'll never be in in your life again.
Steve Covino
But that'll be like going to the bar.
Rich Davis
Imagine going to the. And every girl at the bar is like, please dance at me. Please buy me a drink. It's. It's a very interesting scenario. And I just saw that the new golden bachelor happens to be a former football player.
Steve Covino
Well, remember this, Aside from being radio tycoons, it says it on our business card. And sports enthusiasts, you know, we're relationship experts. Facts. I mean, we used to be on Maxim Radio. Rich is a life coach. Says it on his business card.
Rich Davis
Life coach.
Steve Covino
We've always said in the world of dating, if you really want to impress somebody, you take them to places or you show off where you shine the brightest, right? So if you're in a band, you invite her to your show because she's gonna look at you in your element, where you're. You're most confident and you're shining the brightest. Like, oh, my God, his band's gonna make it. Or, you know, wherever you are, the man. If it's at the pool hall, you take her there and show her your Minnesota Fats. Whatever it is you do, you're a good dancer. You go out and dance. You think, oh, my, he's like John Travolta. And then she's gonna fall in love with you. He's like Chris Brown. He's amazing. So wherever you shine the brightest, that's where you show off and you do your thing. It always works.
Rich Davis
So I just wondered if you asked.
Steve Covino
Most grown men, and that's why these bachelors are putting in that position. These women are loving them.
Rich Davis
I'm just saying, if you ask most grown men, yeah, you could be young and be on the Bachelor. Or nowadays, there's the golden bachelor. So if you're divorced, got grown kids, or you're just a single guy that's like 50, 60, 70, there's dating shows. And I wonder, is that appealing? Especially when everyone talks about how lonely they are and how the dating world.
Steve Covino
It'S not for everybody.
Rich Davis
Every single person I talk to talks about how miserable the apps are. And, like, yeah, it sounds good at first, but it sucks.
Steve Covino
Well, you answer the question. Would you do it?
Rich Davis
If I was a single guy, I would love to do it.
Steve Covino
If you're Mel Owens, NFL, former NFL star, would you do something like that? God forbid. Your wife.
Rich Davis
If my wife left me.
Steve Covino
Left you? 20 years from now, if I think.
Rich Davis
Mel Owens is a guy that played in the NFL, had glory days in the 80s where he played, you know, on an NFL field. Successful lawyer and handsome. You don't think there's a. They don't think there's something fun about saying, hey, man, this guy's what, 60, 70 years old and 25. Attractive, older women are all going to fight for him.
Danny G
Rich Would you be willing to follow the show's template, though, and cry once it's down to the final two? Cry on camera and say, I just.
Rich Davis
Can'T decide between the two. I fall in love.
Danny G
There's always the promo.
Steve Covino
In love with three different women. He tried to get all three women into the overnight.
Rich Davis
Sweet. The same fantasy suite.
Steve Covino
Same fantasy suite. Can I take all three same night, please? I can't do it.
Danny G
And it shows them walking off camera.
Steve Covino
So again, I, I just think it's case by case. I, I don't think I'd be comfortable in that element because I think you could do the same in, in the privacy of your own home without being judged for whatever it is you're doing on television.
Rich Davis
No, that's just a thought I figured I'd throw out there.
Steve Covino
But the payday's nice because, you know they're not doing this for free.
Rich Davis
Yeah, but I don't. They're not getting paid a ton. But I think after the show's over, those people could do like appearances and make money. But I think it's more about just all the, you know, if you're okay and you could deal with online haters and trolls, you just get to go to cool places and hook up with hot women. That's what the Bachelor does. It's an odd, odd three months and.
Steve Covino
It'S an accepted thing, which is crazy, right? You're getting to date 25 different women. So props to Mel Owens. He's the athlete of the. You know what? When we do our express pros pro of the week, he wins because he gets to make out with whoever he wants.
Rich Davis
25 attractive middle aged older women. Mel Owens.
Steve Covino
Sorry, he's not. Luka. After his performance last night, Mel Owens, for slaying it with the old ladies. So we already got that covered.
Rich Davis
Cross that off. Express Pro of the week, Mel Owens.
Steve Covino
Now I want you to put your thinking cap on. So question one. Is that something you would do? Hey, if you didn't have your fun as a young man, I say, why not? But again, I think it depends on your personality type. I don't need that camera up my nose in a personal moment. Rich lives for that.
Rich Davis
I mean, I'm a guy. You're a single guy. I mean, I know you have a girlfriend, but have you found yourself single?
Steve Covino
I'm saying hypothetically, if you were in that, if you had that opportunity, you'd.
Rich Davis
Say, no, thanks, I wouldn't do it.
Steve Covino
I wouldn't want to do it. So I ask you this. Your Mets Played early today. Yankees played early today. A lot of early games today. I hate that random Thursday day off tomorrow. A lot of teams are off tomorrow. I hate that. I hate when you miss the early game and I hate when your team's off.
Rich Davis
They can't play every game.
Steve Covino
I respect that. I'm just.
Rich Davis
Kavino wants 180. He wants 180 games.
Steve Covino
So I caught the tail end of the end Yankees game today. And Judge is just being judged. Can we please just say once and for all that he might be the greatest right handed hitter of all time? Dude, he's batting.415 of all time. He's one of right handed. I said right handed hitters. You know, he hits bombs, but he's more than just hitting bombs. He's batting.415 now. Okay, but Aaron Judge is Aaron Judge. Everybody talks about Aaron Judge. He's a superstar. He'd be the number one answer if it wasn't for Shohei Ohtani as far as popularity. And he does everything right. He's like Herman Munster in pinstripes. Everything he hits, he destroys. He hits a fly ball to the wall. 415. So forget about the bombs. These are circus numbers. But there's another guy in the Yankees who's not hitting bombs. But I'm so impressed by. And nobody's talking about it. Okay? So I want to bring it up. And it's not about the Yankees. Yankees, schmankies. Who cares about them? Me, but not everybody. And I get it. So this is your chance to give early season prompts to whoever it is. Like, you know, I didn't expect anything from this guy. And man, he's lighting it up. Or I really like how he plays. Or hey, you know, we haven't heard much about him. I'm telling you, I watch him day in, day out, and he's really impressive. I want to know from your experience as a nationwide show, we're not watching your team every night the way we're watching our team. We see the highlights. So who do you want to give early season props to? And Rich has a theory about early season props.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
And my nomination is this. And it's not Aaron Judge, even though he's having a ridiculous start.
Rich Davis
Is it a Yankee?
Steve Covino
It is a Yankee, of course. Well, that's why I'm opening it up to everybody. I'm supposed to nominate someone else. I don't care about your Mets or Danny G's Dodgers or our boss's Twins. That's their job. It's an inclusive show. You tell Me, I'm telling you. Let's chop it up. There's a guy who's been a All Star forever, but I've never seen him play. Day in, day out, that's the difference. You know who's good. But when you say when you see him every day, it's different. It's like dating a girl. Yeah, she's great till you live with her. Then you really see the truth. I'm seeing the truth about an All Star who's been in the league for 15 years. I knew he was great, but seeing him hit, I don't think he has a weakness. At least not yet. So my early season props goes to a guy that you all know that I've only experienced for the first time this season. And his name is Paul Goldschmidt. Paul Goldschmidt, who you probably look past because his name's kind of corny.
Rich Davis
Corny?
Steve Covino
I don't know. It doesn't have a ring. Now batting.
Rich Davis
Not Paul Bronschmidt.
Steve Covino
So Paul Goldschmidt. Yeah, but he's just like an everyday. He's not. There's no flair with him. That's really it. Right?
Rich Davis
Boring. Yeah, he's a boring, boring star.
Steve Covino
This guy has no weakness. If you're going to say his weakness is power.
Rich Davis
His power numbers.
Steve Covino
His power numbers are down because he has one home run. But they're going to come and ask what? The Yankees keep saying they're going to come. That's just going to happen. This dude is batting.383 and has 33 hits. Actually 36 hits this season already, if I'm not mistaken. If we count the three today, every time he's up, he does something impressive. I haven't seen a week at bat or like a throwaway at bat. You see dudes taking bad swings or they get caught looking. It's like, what a waste of an at bat. This guy. First time I'm ever watching him day in, day out is so impressive. I got to give early season props to a guy who's batting.383. Only second to judge who's at 415. 383 to a guy that they thought was washed. Paul Goldschmidt still got it.
Rich Davis
That's my nomination again, early.
Steve Covino
But, dude, he's still. 383.
Rich Davis
383. I think a couple guys that deserve props. I won't start with my team. I'll start with other teams.
Steve Covino
Oh, you're so great.
Rich Davis
Well, because, I mean, it's very Easy to say. A guy on your team, oh, you're so great.
Steve Covino
You're the best.
Rich Davis
But the guy on my team would. Would be a great answer. Pete Alonzo, I mean, the guy's lighting it up. He's has more, you know, RBI than anyone.
Steve Covino
But I don't even look at Paul Goldschmidt really as a Yankee yet. That dude's a Diamondback. So Arizona or Cardinals? I'm giving you props to your guy. I always knew he was great, but to watch him every day is a different story. He does not throw away at bat, and he seems to be a great teammate. He's like, no hassles. And he's a guy that doesn't have a lot of flair or excitement about him. So I feel it's my duty to be like, yo, what a.
Rich Davis
What a guy.
Steve Covino
What a guy. I know I'm 15 years late to the party, but props to him. He's only second to judge in the.
Rich Davis
Al, I think a guy. Offensively, there's a couple of guys that get shout outs. San Francisco Giant Wilmer Flores.
Steve Covino
That's. Yeah, he's having a season.
Rich Davis
Who's a guy that historically been like.
Steve Covino
A utility guy that's not crying when he got dissed by the Mets.
Rich Davis
Fourth outfielder type of guy. Seven home runs, 25 RBI, and we're in April. Another guy, Tyler Soderstrom on the A's.
Steve Covino
That's exactly who I was going to bring up. I mean, saw him play live.
Rich Davis
The guy's got a stroke. Unknown lefty because he's on the A's, batting.281, nine home runs, almost 20 RBI.
Steve Covino
He's a young student, and if you.
Rich Davis
Want to go west coast, Danny, I am so impressed with Yamamoto. Seems like any first year jitters are gone now and he's locked in, huh?
Danny G
He's been a monster. And then as far as utility players go, how about Tommy Edmond?
Rich Davis
He's tearing it up so good.
Danny G
He. He of course came through clutch last season when the Dodgers acquired him.
Steve Covino
And I saw his stats recently and I was like, seriously?
Danny G
Yeah, 19 ribby's already.
Steve Covino
You know why too, though?
Danny G
The Dodgers.
Steve Covino
The Dodgers used him.
Danny G
Yeah, he just. He's one of those gamers. In fact, when Shohei was away for the birth of his daughter, they used Edmond in his place for to go dh. So Edmund's really putting smiles on Dodger fan faces right now.
Steve Covino
Eight home runs, he's batting.272, 19 RBI. And like Danny G said, just stepping up.
Danny G
And he's a great field He's a great fielder.
Steve Covino
Oh, on a side note, I do want to give props, like I said, seeing someone every day like Clay Bellinger is having a crappy start, right? But man, that dude in the field is disgustingly great. Like, he's really great. Did I say Clay? Cody. Cody Bellinger. So anyway, early season props is what we're getting at. And Rich, I know you had a theory based on our old pal Sal Licata.
Rich Davis
Yeah, Sal Licata, who works in New York radio and tv. He had a theory and I sort of was thinking about it. I'll tell you what that is after I give one more shout out to a guy that doesn't need it, but maybe a reminder that when healthy, you see Mike Trout's like, back leading the league in offensive categories, like a healthy Mike Trout is still.
Steve Covino
Well, do you remember what we said we predicted, just based on what we had seen, that we thought it could be a nice comeback season for Trout and Christian Yellich, who had a grand slam last night. So, you know, early season Props.
Rich Davis
Mike Trout Batten.287, eight home runs already. So Trout's back to where he was. You know, you're seeing usual suspects. The Kyle Schwaber's and the Tatis Juniors hitting bombs, but just a lot of fun. Baseball right out the gate. But here's the question. We won't be sports stat nerdy anymore. This could apply to any sport. Football, baseball, basketball. Early on in the season, do you give much merit when you're about a fifth or even more or even less of the way in? Like right now, baseball, we've played 25 games. That's a nice sample, but still a small sample.
Steve Covino
Small sample.
Rich Davis
In football, after your first three or four games. In the NFL, there's teams that are one in three and you're like, oh, and they could just, they could turn it around, right? When do you start saying, all right, it's for real? Because the question is right now, can you give someone credit?
Steve Covino
Well, you'd have to say like a quarter of the season for whatever the season is, football, baseball, or basketball. Because half the season, that's now you're cutting it close.
Rich Davis
You have to decide, are you taking what's happened so far in baseball serious? Meaning you can't say, man, Soto's been a bust. And then in the same sentence be like, did you see Goldschmidt? I'm saying you can't, you can't discredit one without the other. You can't discredit, say, well, it's early.
Steve Covino
Yeah, if we're saying yeah, man, Paul Goldschmidt is doing great. How much does it matter if Juan Soto's thinking it up? It's too early to really say.
Rich Davis
Yeah. So if you're saying it's too early to tell if someone sucks, I think it's also too early to tell if someone's great.
Steve Covino
So your thoughts on that?
Rich Davis
There's always a couple guys that get through May, you know, like 3:30 and then they end the season.
Steve Covino
I would say to whoever brings us up, you in this case or Salicata earlier, our old pal. I mean, but isn't it better to have a great start than not? Yeah, I'll take that any day. No. Yeah, sure, it Juan Soto or any team or anybody could turn it around and, and have a stellar season. But I would much rather have a great start than, like you said, playing the chase from behind.
Rich Davis
Yeah. So your your thoughts and some hey, early season props. Let's hear about it. We'll talk some NBA and of course NFL draft tomorrow. So a lot going on Kavino and Rich right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Steve Covino

Steve Covino
I'm ready to unleash the passing. Passing what?
Rich Davis
Attack the passing attack.
Steve Covino
All right. Now we're wrapping up, bringing a whole.
Rich Davis
New layer of his game this year.
Steve Covino
Bringing a whole new layer to my game this year.
Rich Davis
It's great.
Steve Covino
Patrick Mahomes here before we get into something controversial. And then, of course, Dan Byers update. Before we talk, Shannon Sharp and advice you should have listened to. I do want to wrap up early season props in baseball.
Rich Davis
Okay.
Steve Covino
Do they matter? I think it's better than sucking. But early season props. I'm really impressed with Paul Goldschmidt. Now, the thing is, batting average doesn't really mean a whole lot in today's game. I get it. But it's still impressive to see when Aaron Judge is leading the league, leading baseball with the circus number of 415. He's batting 415. So he's not just a slugger.
Rich Davis
Our buddy Sean, who listens on the iHeart app out here in LA, said your description of Herman Munster just raking, can't get out of his head. Just Herman Munster watch.
Steve Covino
Have you seen Herman Munster play baseball?
Rich Davis
Yes.
Steve Covino
Like he would hit the ball and explode.
Rich Davis
It's a very obscure reference and so, like.
Steve Covino
But you love to use it because that's what Aaron Judge reminds me.
Rich Davis
I'm going to go find a YouTube clip and it's going to be all black. Find it.
Steve Covino
You're going to be like, he's right. That's Aaron Judge on the Yankees. So Judge is batting.415. Goldschmidt is batting 3. 383. Brendan Donovan of the Cardinals. 356. And Will Smith. Not the failed rapper. Will Smith. Yeah. Not the rapper whose album flopped. The former actor who got. Who got. I don't know, too big for his britches. Will Smith of the Dodgers, batting.350.
Rich Davis
But you don't want to keep going. One more person.
Steve Covino
No.
Rich Davis
Pete Alonzo batting.340. You want to leave that out? Okay.
Steve Covino
I was going to give him his props when it came to slugging because that's really what matters, right?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Aaron Judge, 7:34. Your boy Polar Bear Pete, who you didn't want. Not you Mets fans, I know. Or the Mets.681 slugging. And then of course, Jonathan Aranda of Tampa bay. Kyle Tucker, Cubs. 650.
Rich Davis
Yeah, Kyle Tucker. We talked about a preseason Danny G in the spring training that Kyle Tucker was a top five or six MVP candidate. And people said, really, they, they expect big things. And Kyle Tucker in Chicago is slaying it so far.
Steve Covino
And as far as home runs, which still matters, we already talked about Tyler Soderstrom, who we saw live. This kid has a stroke. He's got nine. But Cal rally, Cal Raleigh is of Seattle, also has nine home runs.
Danny G
Soderstrom of Turlock, California.
Rich Davis
Yeah, that's right.
Steve Covino
You already mentioned Tommy Edmond has eight home runs. Fernando Tatis has eight home runs. And Trout, who's having a season, it's good to see him healthy, eight home runs. So again, early season props, just to wrap it up, those are your league leaders.
Rich Davis
And there's. There's some parts of baseball that are just not surprising. Like guys that are just continue to bring it. Like, like Danny G's Yamamoto. He lost today. He got the nil decision. But Zach Wheeler of The Phillies got 50 strikeouts already. And it's April, so you Know, some of these guys just, you know, back to dominating your boy. Rodone having some W today.
Steve Covino
And, you know, I'm going to quote Deion Sanders. I got it from him. Baseball's popping, man. Baseball is popping again. Don't sleep on it. I know not everybody loves baseball the way we do, but it's an exciting time. It's the baseball renaissance of 2025. Lots of superstars and they're putting up circus numbers now. It's good to be Aaron Judge, but it's not so good to be Shannon Sharp. Today. I say that respectfully.
Rich Davis
My first thought was, listen, there's so many. This is all alleged, so who knows what's true or not? I'll just say this. So many men in sports, entertainment, music, politics have a weakness. And that weakness is allowing what's in their pantalones to guide the way. How many times has a politician, you know, had stories come out about, oh, he's cheating on his wife and doing all this, and he was having affairs.
Steve Covino
And he likes talking about Carlos Danger.
Rich Davis
Do you remember everyone from Elliot Spitzer to remember the guy in New York, Anthony Weiner? All these people.
Steve Covino
That's what I just referenced. Yeah.
Rich Davis
So, I mean, and then in, in sports, in politics, President Clinton in the White House, you know, blue dresses and.
Danny G
Cigars, have sexual relations with that woman.
Steve Covino
So, yeah, he denied it. What are you talking about? Yeah, and then he accepted it. Oh, that's right.
Rich Davis
But my point is, whether or not whatever's true or not, scandal, it's not for us to decide. It's for courts and other people for to decide. But my thought is Shannon Sharpe, you.
Steve Covino
Know, well, he's adamantly denied the allegations.
Rich Davis
And whether it's true or not, that's not. Again, that's not for us to decide. That's for someone with a, you know, that's not my pay grade. As I say, how many times do guys, you know, enter a territory where it's like, this can't end well when you're a retired athlete. How old is Shannon Sharp?
Steve Covino
In his 50s, 58 or something like that?
Rich Davis
Yeah, like to be messing around with some young woman that maybe you don't know that well. And even if you like it kinky and rough in the bedroom, because a lot of people do that stuff. You partake with a wife or a girlfriend or someone you know and trust.
Steve Covino
Like, by the way, you gotta learn from other people's mistakes. Again, this is all alleged, but we saw what happened to Trevor Bauer. So it's like, hey, man, you Gotta be more careful, especially when you have a lot to lose. And how about just being a good guy and a good person and just be better than that?
Rich Davis
Here's the thing. No, that's nothing. That's irrelevant. To be better than that.
Steve Covino
People have kinks. I'd say you shouldn't take those chances.
Rich Davis
What I'm saying is people have kinks, but you reserve.
Steve Covino
So what? You have to lean into all of them.
Rich Davis
I mean, let me finish my sentence. You unleash those kinks with someone you love and trust, whether it's a girlfriend or a wife. I don't think if you're like, yeah, I like it rough in the bedroom. That's not something you do with a one night stand. When you have hundreds of millions of dollars and you're a celebrity, let alone a regular guy, you got to really use your head, not the one in your pantalones. And I think that's the problem. And if there's any advice I would give my son one day, or younger men, just be careful of who you are with. And then if he is guilty of these things, allegedly, then shame on him and we'll see what happens. But I just think there's so many people that are in a position of I got so much to lose, yet they take chances that are so ill advised.
Steve Covino
Now that leads us to, I agree again, some great advice that Shannon Sharpe was once given on his own show and this was last year. If only he had paid attention and listened to Monique, he might not be in this situation. It's gone viral. Take a listen now I'm looking right at y'all.
F
Let me tell y'all what Shannon need.
Steve Covino
Let me leave my life.
F
Let me tell you what my baby need. He need him a whole fat dal who can bake good cakes, make some smothered turkey wings, who gonna rub his feet at the nighttime, okay. And gonna have a sip of his cognac to make him feel better about himself when he come home at night. That's what Shannon need. You don't need no 26 year old girl. You don't need no 36 year old girl.
Rich Davis
I do.
F
This is your auntie talking to you. Take your ass and get you a old out there that can love you old. Monique, you trying to hang out with these young. You can't do it, Shannon. You just can't do it. When they want you to go for the fourth round, you looking at her like, listen, I need. You want some money to go to.
Rich Davis
Starbucks because I can't go no further.
F
But if you get your older girl, when you get to that forefront, she gonna say, hold on, hold on. Let me go get you some eggs and cheese and some toast with apple butter because that's gonna get your energy back up. I'm talking right to you.
Steve Covino
Wow, Monique crazy. Listen to now. So I want you to start thinking about this advice you should have listened to. Let's get to it at 87799 on Fox. But first, an update from DB Dan Byer.
G
Hey guys, you were talking about the busy day in baseball with both of your teams playing Yankees stop the Guardians 51 and the Mets got that 43 win over the Phillies in 10. New York seventh straight win for Philadelphia. They've dropped four in a row. Tigers playing the Padres 6 nothing. Reds down the Marlins 5 to 2 while the first game to go final was in Atlanta 1 1.
Rich Davis
A fly ball high in the air to deep left field is clear for takeoff. Hits a three run homer. Eli White puts the Braves on top of the eighth. 4 1.
G
Atlanta atop the Cardinals by the count on the Braves Radio Network. Three NBA playoff games tonight. All game twos Magic and Celtics. Jayson Tatum remains doubtful with a wrist injury. However, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla did say that Tatum did get some on court work in earlier today. Again, his official status has not yet been determined. Heat at the Cavaliers 7:30 Eastern warriors and Rockets 9:30 EAs NBA Insider Mark Stein reports that former Warriors GM Bob Myers could be a candidate to join the Suns front office. Rutgers freshman star Ace Bailey is entering the 2025 NBA Draft. In the NFL, the Saints picked up the fifth year option on the contract of wide receiver Chris Olave, but declined the option on Trevor Penning's contract. As for quarterback Derek Carr, this was Saints GM Mickey Loomis.
Rich Davis
The question is about Derek Carr. He does have an issue with his shoulder. We're hoping to get some resolution and clarity on that in the near future. When we do, I'll report back to you. Otherwise, I don't have anything more.
G

Tirek.com the way tire buying should be Mark your calendars. Thursday, July 31 is when the NFL preseason kicks off. The hall of Fame game will feature the Lions and Chargers in Canton, Ohio. Guys, back to you.
Rich Davis
Thanks. Db, you mentioned and played the highlight from that Braves win over the Cardinals. Hey again we talked about how it's early. You want to give props to certain people, but at the same time we can't overreact cause it is so early. Just like that. I mean they're still under.500. But what did the Braves start? Oh and 7, 10 and 14 and playing really good baseball. So you know that Braves team's not going to be done. That Braves team is going to be over 500 by my guess, second week of May, over 500.
Steve Covino
All right. So advice you should have listened to a la Shannon Sharpe and your thoughts on that at 87799 on Fox. We'll do it next right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Steve Covino
Wood is great. That's W O U L D by the way. No, no, no. W O U L D. You said Wood.
Rich Davis
See that picture of Walton Goggins on the COVID of magazine?
Steve Covino
And just because you would doesn't mean you Should. And we're talking about Shannon Sharp right now as Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Before we get to the phone calls, it's time for our tire rack play of the day. LeBron looking 20, not 40 years old as he stole the ball from behind Anthony Edwards and quickly powered his way to the hoop to squash the Wolf's fourth quarter comeback attempt last night. They'll feed and they'll throw it away. Wolves have it.
Rich Davis
Edwards on the move. LeBron stole the ball.
Steve Covino
James with the ball.
Rich Davis
Pyle drives inside.
Steve Covino
What a play by LeBron.
Rich Davis
The steal.
Steve Covino
And the two.
Rich Davis
He's got 21. Gotta love that play. Love Harland. That's courtesy of TNT. And that is the tire rack play of the day. For over 40 years, Tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires for hal what and where they drive ship fast and free. Backed by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Again, the tirerack.com play of the day. The way tire buying should be. Now back to the advice. What is great advice you were given, you just ignored. We don't need to play the whole Monique clip again. But Monique last year told Shannon Sharp, you need an older woman that's going to cook for you and be there having a late night cocktail.
Steve Covino
Not a 26 year old nothing that you're paying to get Starbucks.
Rich Davis
It just. Listen, it's an unfortunate story, right? Because you can't make light of her accusations. But at the same time, like we said, if you are a man or woman of power, especially a man, because it seems like men don't know how to keep it in their pants. We've all been guilty of making dumb decisions, but some make way dumber decisions than others. And it's politics, sports, entertainment, you see it happen all the time. What is Shannon Sharp doing in the first place? I get it. I saw the girl. She looks hot. But that doesn't mean you need to go after every hot girl that hits on you. Dangerous man Nova in Vegas. What's up man?
H
Hey guys, Good afternoon. Love the show. Long time listener. That's probably about like my second or third time ever calling it. So I got a couple, I got three of them. The first one is always save some money for any of those situations because you never know what could happen and I never do. That's the first one, right? Second one is be careful who you have kids with because you never know how they're gonna turn out after you have those kids. Did not listen. I have two beautiful daughters, but you Know, outside of that, don't know the person that I. That I married at that time. And then the last one is, choose a career when you're young. Otherwise you'll be chasing jobs forever. And I should have listened to that. That was sound advice that my dad gave me. And never once did I ever pick a career, and I'm still out here chasing jobs.
Steve Covino
That's great advice and a great call, man. You should call more often. Thank you.
Rich Davis
You know what? I feel like there's been good advice I did take. And then you think, like, thank God I did, because it was. But when you think about the. It's usually with relationships, like, someone's like, yo, dude, I don't know if she's right for you. And you're like, I don't know. And then you're right. You end up getting married or having a kid with the wrong woman. And it's, you know, to put your life in a weird spot. Let's say hi to Michael, also in Vegas. Hey, Mike.
I
Hey, guys. Love the show, guys.
Rich Davis
Thank you, man. Appreciate you.
I
Hey, so I only got one thing when I'm 50 years old, but when I was a teenager going to high school, I was studying, you know, about stocks and stock bonds and all that stuff. And people are going around saying, hey, you should invest in Walmart. I was like, walmart, whatever. Well, come find out all that public bonds. And whoever got the public stocks, they. They're pretty much millionaires now.
Steve Covino
Thanks, guys. Oh, man. And I invested in the Mexican one, Gualmar, and it didn't take off as much.
Rich Davis
In the 80s, didn't someone tell your dad to invest in Apple, but he just bought bananas instead.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
Oh, my God.
Steve Covino
My mom yells at him till this day. So, yeah, that's great.
Rich Davis
Money in an apple farm. Yeah.
Steve Covino
An apple orchard. So. So other advice you should have listened.
Rich Davis
To a la he was stuck in Mutts.
Steve Covino
Monique telling Shannon Sharp to stay away from these young ladies and find himself an old lady to rub his feet. And she was right, because this story is getting sticky. It's still developing, and I'll say one of mine, I'll save one for now, and I'll give you more later. As a young man, I tell my daughter this now. People would tell me to study abroad, but I was too much of a chicken turd to take that advice. And looking back, I really wish I would have. No one really gave me that opportunity, but people said, if you have the opportunity, you should do it.
Rich Davis
Study abroad.
Steve Covino
I was so, like, I don't know such an east coast jersey boy that I'm like, I'm not leaving.
Rich Davis
I know Kavino's east coast jersey answer was study abroad. How about I study broads?
Steve Covino
I just studied broads instead.
Rich Davis
New Jersey. All right. Hey, we got more conveno Rich. We got Mike's words of wisdom. We're gonna give away a prize spots got Midweek Major More CNR on FSR.
