Nate Thompson
Drew Brees is coming up today. So many people stopping by, it's crazy.
AJ Stephens
Could I direct people to the Fox Force Radio YouTube channel? Because all of our interviews in their entirety will live there for free.
Nate Thompson
So check that out.
AJ Stephens
Back to the Taylor Swift thought and it's not going to annoy you. We talked about how the ticket prices in New Orleans are plummeting. And by plummeting, there's still three, four, $5,000. But Danny G. Not the usual like nine, $10,000. You know what the hottest ticket is? Donald Trump and Taylor Swift are both gonna be in suites. So people are now inquiring, could I get the suite next to them? People are saying like, alright, I want a sweet. I'll pay the big money. But could I be between Taylor and Donald?
Rich Davis
What good would it be to be married?
AJ Stephens
No. Maybe. Maybe while you're watching, you know the game. Every so often you just stare at them.
Rich Davis
It's really strange. Yeah, stalkerish and What?
Nate Thompson
Kanye is going to be there. That's the other big story.
AJ Stephens
I don't know if Kanye's going anywhere. The way he's talking.
Nate Thompson
I know, right? But beefed up security, we could tell you that much. Just being out here in New Orleans because of all these big names. So it's Cabino and Rich. Speaking of big names, we got lots stopping by. Not ours. We got Drew Brees on today's show. Buddy Donovan McNabb stopping by.
AJ Stephens
You mean my old college buddy?
Nate Thompson
Yes, your old college buddy.
Rich Davis
He never saw you at the campus.
Nate Thompson
In just a few minutes. Seal. Yes. Musical artist, Grammy Award winning artist. Seal and Debo Samuel.
AJ Stephens
Together.
Nate Thompson
Together. One of the wildest combos stopping by the show. You never know who's gonna stop by Radio row here for Super Bowl 59.
AJ Stephens
Before seal and Debo were hanging.
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Your favorite combo is the pizza flavored one, right?
Nate Thompson
It's always the best one. Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Great combo. You know what I say we have a lot to get to there. As a deep thought we had about when the waiter or bartender tries to take on too much, we're going to get to that. But I say let's dive right in. Head first, Pete Rowe style. Your pompadour flopping around.
Nate Thompson
Let's do it.
AJ Stephens
Seal and Debo, we caught up with them like an hour ago. It was fantastic. Take a listen. Kavino and Rich live from New Orleans, Fox Sports Radio.
Nate Thompson
One of the wildest combos of the week again is Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. We got a Grammy Award winning artist and San Francisco 49ers superstar Seal and Debo Samuel. Welcome to the show. Here we go.
Rich Davis
Appreciate you.
Seal
Yeah.
Nate Thompson
Yes. Yeah.
Seal
Because my name's Samuel, too, Seal.
Nate Thompson
Samuel and Debo Samuel.
Deebo Samuel
Did y'all know that?
Nate Thompson
Yes, we did.
AJ Stephens
Our producer told us five minutes ago.
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
While we were harmonizing.
Seal
Don't do it. Don't do it.
Nate Thompson
Yeah. Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Seal. Okay. Or not.
Seal
I can pay you to a kiss from a dime on the bay.
AJ Stephens
You didn't do the Baja. But they changed it. You know why?
Nate Thompson
I think they should have went for Mountain Dew, but hey, I'm not in charge. Yeah, exactly. Thank you guys for being here, man. It's a pleasure. You know, it's one of the greatest songs that ever was. You know that.
Seal
Oh, thank you.
Nate Thompson
Are you excited that it's going to be introduced to a whole new generation of younger people? It's never gone away, but there's going to be young people watching.
Seal
Yeah, I am reading excited. And it's. It's It's a lot of the reason why I did it because, you know, Mountain Dew is synonymous with the Super Bowl. It's. It's, you know, they have a historical relationship, and it was an opportunity to make people laugh, make people smile. And. And also, you know, I. I drink Mountain Dew Baja Blast myself. And so it was an easy yes.
AJ Stephens
Mountain Dew reminds me of my late night Taco Bell runs.
Deebo Samuel
I always get a Mountain Dew with Baja Bless.
AJ Stephens
Yeah, the Baja Bless at Taco Bell. I always get that. Yo, I got to ask you, as a big Niners fan, you got to be anxious to just run it back. I mean, it's. The team is too good for what happened this year.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Feel this way.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah, definitely is. But, you know, with this league come injuries for sure. Yeah. We can't sit back and harp on, you know, we lost this game because we didn't have this person. We lost this game. We didn't have this person. Like, I've sat back and watched this team win, win games with, you know.
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
Deebo Samuel
A lot of the stars that we have on our team hurt. So, I mean, we can't sit back and blame that, but it definitely play a part in it. But overall, you know, definitely anx to get back. Definitely extras to get back to work with all the guys, for sure. Just, you know, we got this chip on our show. Like, this is like my real first year of not making the playoffs since I've been a Niner, and it just feels so weird just to sit back and just sit back every Sunday and be like, yo, yeah, this team is playing with. Normally, you know, we'd all teams that's always knocking that.
AJ Stephens
These teams thinking if we were full strength, we'd whoop all these teams.
Deebo Samuel
I mean, there's a lot of ifs, but we wasn't there. So we just. We just. We just get ready for this year.
AJ Stephens
We're talking to your dude, Fred Warner the other day.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
And I said as a fan and as a guy at the team, we were feeling the same thing every week. It was like, all right, next week is when things turn around.
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
It just never. It never happened. But next year with everyone healthy and.
Seal
And it's at Levi's, next year it's.
AJ Stephens
Going to be homecoming. You're going to do it. Yasil, is it. Is it fun to work with Deebo on this campaign?
Seal
I've been a fan of this guy since he was at Carolina, so, yeah, you know, he's. It's great to be standing next to someone I've admired. I'm a frustrated athlete myself. And just to be, you know, to finally meet divers and tell him about all of the great moments that I've enjoyed watching him create is. It's been special. And to do it with Mountain Dew is amazing.
AJ Stephens
What we find awesome is the mutual respect. We talk to a lot of, you know, superstars in the music world. They admire athletes, and athletes admire people in the music world. It's like a mutual respect.
Seal
Sport is an allegory for life. I think that's why people connect with it so much.
Nate Thompson
You.
Seal
You can see a lot of the daily trials and tribulations and challenges that we go through in life. You can see them being played out on the football field, you know, or whether it's on a tennis court. It's. You're watching life unfold. And to see an athlete transcend something that has been holding them back, you know, it's a reflection on life. And so that's my connection with sport.
Nate Thompson
Well, CL, I could tell you you're probably a great athlete. You're a big dude.
Deebo Samuel
No, no, no, no.
Seal
I'm a frustrated athlete.
Nate Thompson
Frustrated athlete.
Seal
Like, I'm not a great athlete. I try, you know, and. And that's. That's the important thing.
Nate Thompson
But, Debo, is there an artist inside? Man, can you sing? Are you any good at any instruments or.
Seal
You don't have to say.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Deebo Samuel
I mean, I got a. I got a little voice on me. I got a little. Little something.
Nate Thompson
But was there a part of you growing up that you're like, man, I kind of want it? No, always athlete from day one. When did you realize that? At a very young age.
AJ Stephens
Yeah.
Deebo Samuel
So I kind of started playing tackle when I was like, 4 years old.
Nate Thompson
Oh, so that was it.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah, that was it. My dad was my coach for a long, long, long time. And, you know, I always played with the. With the older than me for. It's like my brother and all that stuff.
Nate Thompson
Same question for you, Seal. Like, did you know, like, I'm going to be a singer? At an early age, he thought he.
Deebo Samuel
Was going to be a tennis player.
AJ Stephens
I heard say tennis before. Yeah.
Nate Thompson
So at first it was tennis.
Seal
I wanted to be a tennis player. I didn't think I was going to be. You know, I had. I had a teacher at school, Mr. Ren, and I idolized him. He was the cool teacher, and I wore the cool clothes. Like, everyone took. Everyone wanted to be like him. He was different from all the other teachers. And he sat sang, you know, he was a singer but then, you know, he got a real job as a teacher. And I kind of started singing because I guess I wanted to be like him. And he put me on stage when I was 11 at the parents and Teachers association evening to sing a Johnny Nash song called I Can See Clearly Now. You guys are probably too young to remember that. And I remember going to the stage, it was the scariest thing that ever happened. He called my name and it was acapella. So they were, you know, I had no backing. He called my name, he said, we got this. Young Seal's gonna sing a song for you right now. And I walked to the stage and I saw my parents in the audience and all of these. All of the parents of the other kids and everyone there. And literally I wanted the stage to just open up and swallow me. I was frozen, but I closed my eyes and I sang this song. And it was. It was kind of like that scene in a movie. You could hear a pin drop. I sang this song, and at the end of it, I still had my eyes closed and everyone clapped and I saw my parents going, wow.
Nate Thompson
Mouth dropped. Wow.
Seal
And so that place that turned into the scariest place place on earth, it immediately felt like home. And so I always knew I would return there. So I guess the reason, the real takeaway from that story is that we all need people to see us. We need, you know, for you, it was your dad who saw you and saw something great in you when you were four years old, you know, and you were playing tackle at that age, you know, he saw it in you. For me, it was Mr. Ren. He saw me and, you know, whereas other teachers thought I was going to be a waste of time, you know, because I have adhd, so I never paid attention school and they thought I was going to be a waste of time, but he saw me and he brought out something special.
Nate Thompson
It's an amazing story, man.
AJ Stephens
This is perfect because when I'm here, I'm missing career day at my kids school. I'm going to send them this clip. How cool was that? Ms. Wagner's class is going to see Seal and Debo. I start coincidentally coaching my son, who's four this weekend. So I got to keep that eye out.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah, for sure.
AJ Stephens
Maybe my son will be the next Debo. Samuel. I. I got to ask. People talking about you rolling up in an Eagles jersey this week, is that you just support your boy? People making a big deal about this for no reason.
Deebo Samuel
Just. That's definitely me supporting my brother for sure. Been locked in for a Long time now. We're going on about 88 years of, you know, being my guy, you know, just showing support. You know, I always say, like, if I'm not in it, I want one of my peers to win it.
AJ Stephens
Of course.
Nate Thompson
Am I feeling a little Eagle biased here? Because you're supporting your boy and he wants to fly like an eagle to the sea.
Seal
I'm not going to let you do that. No, that song is. That song that you just sing in there.
Nate Thompson
Right.
Seal
Is literally the only association I have with the Eagles. It begins and ends there.
Nate Thompson
Really? Okay.
AJ Stephens
But I can only imagine 02 against the Chiefs. You can't be loving this team.
Deebo Samuel
No, no, no. Not at all.
AJ Stephens
Not at all. Not at all. Robert Salabeck, is that a big deal for you, even though you're on the offense? He seems like such a vibe guy now.
Deebo Samuel
Hey, man, this man energy is. Is through the roof. I seen that happen. I was like, bro, we got one of our core guys back. Because when I got drafted there, he was there.
AJ Stephens
Yeah.
Deebo Samuel
So, like, you know, he was. He was the high energy guy. The. To get everybody going. When. When things ain't going right. He always there to bring it back. Back together. Like, he. He's the guy for sure.
AJ Stephens
Know what I always wonder? Kavina, is there. Is there a 49ers group chat and you. Are you guys talking about this while we're learning about it? No, no, no.
Deebo Samuel
Everybody be cool and just. Because at the end of the day, there's nothing that we could control. It's just, you know.
AJ Stephens
No doubt.
Seal
That's a tough thing about your. Your profession, man. Like, you, for me, I. I can control everything. Well, yeah.
Deebo Samuel
Control is what we go out there and put on tape. That's it.
Nate Thompson
O.C. can you still control those high notes? Kiss from a rose. That. That real high note, which I know you, baby. That one.
Deebo Samuel
You want me to go higher?
Seal
Yes.
AJ Stephens
This is wild. Because I want to keep going back and forth. Music, sports. Because those are two things people love so much. Like, all right, super bowl, besides the game, are we excited about Kendrick Lamar?
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Are you a fan?
Deebo Samuel
I don't know. To me, I'm not gonna sit here and lie, be like, I'm the biggest Kendrick fan of. I really, like, started listening to him when him and Drake got the.
Nate Thompson
Going back and forth.
Deebo Samuel
So I'm just like, all right. But he got some after, you know, listening to that and listening to songs. He got some bangers.
AJ Stephens
Drake can't be loving this.
Deebo Samuel
Drake cold, though.
AJ Stephens
Oh, yeah, man. I agree.
Deebo Samuel
One of the coats notice.
AJ Stephens
Let me ask you this. Talking to other 49ers, everyone seems sold on Brock. I like Brock as a fan. Is Brock your guy? No matter what, he's.
Deebo Samuel
Love him. Yeah, love him.
Nate Thompson
Well, you guys got lucky, by the way, Mr.
Deebo Samuel
Irrelevant, how is that lucky?
AJ Stephens
No, but I'm saying the fact that.
Deebo Samuel
Don't consider it luck.
AJ Stephens
No, I. Not lucky. But, Mr. Irrelevant, you saw, people were saying when. The minute he joined your team in practice, everyone's like, this guy, bro. This guy.
Deebo Samuel
The first preseason game I watched him play, we played Houston, and he showed glimpse of like, yo, like, this kid is talented. And I'm just like, he just get out the pocket. He'll be moving. I'm just like, yo, like, who is this guy? Like, you know, he always. One of the guys that practiced, that stood at the back. Like, he used to just throw. Like, he told me a story. He's like, hey, Deebo, man, I used to just. I just think he was just so mean and just.
AJ Stephens
This is funny.
Deebo Samuel
He's like, I just throw you the ball and just turn around before you even catch it so you don't come back and talk to me.
Nate Thompson
I love.
Seal
I love what. I love what you said. Your response to these guys saying, lucky. You know, I heard this great quote by my brother, Tiger woods, one day when somebody accused him of being lucky, and he said, yep, how do I practice, the luckier I get, right? And I think that's the case with bro. I once heard. I think it was. I think it was my brother Steve Young, talking about the quality, the intangibles of a quarterback that not a lot of people pick up on. And he said that, like, what he learned from Montana was that that if the game's on the line and, you know, you got to perform the value in going into the huddle with your guy, with your leader, and you see that he's cool and he's not panicking, and he's calm and he's confident. So I wanted to ask you, what is it like in those moments when you go into the huddle and you see your guy Brock, who's calm?
Deebo Samuel
Sometimes it be crazy, because sometimes Kyle get to play in late, and, you know, them quarterbacks get frustrated. He's like, I can't hear nothing. He be like, all right, bro, let's get him. I'm about to. All right, ready? Break. So he's like, all right. You have no choice but to get in this car with this dude, no matter where he going, and just sit back and Ride with him.
Nate Thompson
That is so cool to hear.
Seal
Is he that calm in the huddle?
Deebo Samuel
He's the, like. When I say like, I mean, it's like the moment is never too big for him. Like, see, the only time he get kind of frustrated is when him and Kyle is going back and forth on the headset. And the time getting low and Cal saying one word, but want to change the play. He changed about four, five times. Marcus, like, bro, like what? Give me the play. Like, give me something.
AJ Stephens
By the way, for the record, Seal, Debo. I did not say Brock was lucky. I was saying the Niners lucky was there.
Seal
No, no, no.
Nate Thompson
I don't see what he's doing.
AJ Stephens
No, no, no.
Seal
You see what he's doing there?
Nate Thompson
He's doing the moonwalk, man. He's doing his dance moves. So anyway, guys, let us know what's going on with Baja Fresh. What are we expecting from Super Bowl?
Deebo Samuel
Ain't nothing.
Nate Thompson
I saw the commercial, man. I saw the good stuff. Tell us what's going on, man.
Deebo Samuel
There's nothing better than super bowl football in a great Mountain Dew. Especially the Baja Blast is so refreshing. I swear.
Nate Thompson
I love it.
Deebo Samuel
Best drink out.
Seal
Fantastic.
AJ Stephens
In the commercial, you turn into a seal. They finally got you to turn.
Seal
They got me. They got me to do it, you know, but honestly, I. I'm really proud that I'm really fortunate and happy that I got to. To make people laugh. And I'm really proud to be doing it with Mountain Dew Baja Blast. You know, it's. It's a. It's a perfect match, I think.
Nate Thompson
I think you guys are a perfect match. I love having you both here. Really appreciate it.
Seal
I mean, I'm just. I mean, he doesn't even know I'm his biggest fan. I've been watching this guy since he was at college.
Nate Thompson
That's so cool, man. Thank you guys for your time. We're excited to enjoy some Baja Blast. And thank you guys for being on.
AJ Stephens
Thank you.
Nate Thompson
Samuel and Debo Samuel on the Cavino Enrich. Beautiful. Is that such a good dude? Dudes, so much fun. You can see the videos at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
AJ Stephens
But the best video you could see at Covino and Rich.
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Is that when we were done hanging out with him, I said, debo, my man, for good luck, we have to have a Rich Davis to Debo Samuel touchdown pass. So I, I threw him a tutty and he made a one handed snag. And that's why the Niners are going back to the playoffs next year.
Nate Thompson
All right.
AJ Stephens
And I posted the video of of Debo with a sweet grab at Covino and Rich.
Nate Thompson
Now we're live from media Super Bowl 59, Covino and Rich live from NOLA. And we still got Drew Brees stopping by and Donovan McNabb. So you gotta stick around right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Rich Davis

It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
AJ Stephens
There was something sentimental when you. When you send it. It was like, do I send the heart now?
Bobby Bones
I don't like the color edition.
AJ Stephens
It's extremely pink.

Broken me, but just because of how.
AJ Stephens
I was raised and my bullishness and arrogance to want to be great hardened.

Me, it gave me a platform to.
AJ Stephens
Be so singularly focused on greatness.
Ashlyn Harris

Nate Thompson
Could have talked to both of those dudes for another hour.
AJ Stephens
I'm sorry I was so hyped up.
Nate Thompson
It was Debo, Seal and Debo. You're not sorry, but sorry, not sorry. I mean, actually, you are kind of sorry, but he's not sorry about that. That's Rich Davis. I'm Covino live from Super Bowl Media Row.
AJ Stephens
Thanks, sam.
Nate Thompson
And the tirerack.com studio if you miss Seal, the artist, Seal and Debo Samuel. Seal Samuel and Debo Samuel. They're not brothers. They were on the show. Catch it on the podcast. I had so much stuff to ask him. I really did. I think that's one of the top ten songs of all time. If not maybe top five of all time.
AJ Stephens
Top ten, I'll give you. Because, respectfully, I don't know anyone that's like, I don't like that song.
Nate Thompson
It's such an earworm, too. If someone hits you with a ba da da da da, right? It's in your head the rest of the day. Such a beautiful song. I remember buying the single just like. Is that what you're gonna say?
Rich Davis
I. I said, both of us, yeah. Talked about how we bought the CD single when it came out. And you guys, there's a bathroom directly behind our stage. About a half hour ago, I was in there. We were kind of getting ready for the beginning of the show, and there was some random in there singing and whistling that song right there out loud.
AJ Stephens
Just from our interview, you see Seal, and you're right. The rest of the day I've been walking around da da da.
Nate Thompson
It's a timeless song. And I was gonna ask him, well, if we all agree that's one of the top 10 of all time, or maybe in our lifetime, you know, what is it for him? What are those songs for him? What's his personal number one, aside from all of his great songs? Again, we're live from Media Row. Rapid Radios are the walkie talkie for the big game. Like, I think the word is out that it's not just golf gear anymore, that it's actually casual gear you could wear anytime and still look good. I see it everywhere.
Rich Davis
I'm kind of sour about it because suddenly now. Yeah, I'm the one who's always for years worn it at the studio. Suddenly, Big Mike, somebody say who? Who is gonna be walking around our studios in Sherman Oaks, California, wearing the hats?
Nate Thompson
Yep, yep, yep. So again, guys, stick around for Drew Brees and Donovan. Donovan McNabb gonna be on the show today.
Rich Davis
Oh, talking eagles.
Nate Thompson
Oh, yeah. So lots of people stopping by Media Row. Such a great week again. I want to thank everybody for hanging out with us. If you missed anything, catch the fox Sports Radio YouTube page. And we also had Gary Vee on over promised this week. We caught up with Gary V. Gary Vaynerchuk over promised on fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. That's our bonus pod. But. Well, hold on. At our hotel. I was saying we have a story.
AJ Stephens
I was saying just hit us up with a trivia question. Does he think he's gonna stump you with this one?
Justin Pennik
I love Iwa.
AJ Stephens
Sam. I was saying pose the question. Go ahead. And so Kiss from a Rose by.
Bobby Bones
Seal appeared in what mid-90s film? Listen, I just wanted to ask this so that I could talk about or have you guys talk about one of my favorite action hero movies of all time.
AJ Stephens
Of course. Tell me Batman Forever.
Rich Davis
Forever.
AJ Stephens
Forever.
Nate Thompson
Forever. Happy day. Forever. Carnals.
Bobby Bones
Everyone. Everyone wanted to hate on that movie.
AJ Stephens
And it's one of my favorites.
Nate Thompson
I mean, the soundtrack definitely helped for sure.
Rich Davis
Was it wasn't Jim Carrey the Riddler in that one?
AJ Stephens
It was great cast.
Bobby Bones
Nicole Kidman, Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones.
AJ Stephens
Who I just played it was cool, man.
Nate Thompson
And Seal looked great. It was great talking to him. And again, like I said, we're still excited to talk to Drew Brees and Donovan McNabb. So we got to tell you about our adventures, though, here in New Orleans.
AJ Stephens
No doubt. Then again, that video of Seal and Deebo going to be available on the fox Sports Radio YouTube page. I know we try to get to that story, but I have so many observations. Did you notice that Seal, when you went in for the handshake, he gave everyone a big hug instead?
Nate Thompson
Yes, I did notice that.
Rich Davis
Did you notice that he's very European?
AJ Stephens
Very European. Like, you were like, yo, Seal, when you went to give him a handshake, he was like, nah.
Nate Thompson
Did he grab your butt? He grabbed mine.
AJ Stephens
And I thought it was just me. I thought it was just me.
Nate Thompson
I thought that was a little weird.
AJ Stephens
I'm sorry.
Nate Thompson
I didn't mind. I didn't mind. He.
Rich Davis
You know, something you should know about me. I'm a hugger.
Nate Thompson
I gave him the okay, so. Yeah. But, yeah, and he was a great storyteller. He really was. You could tell he had a great respect for Debo Samuel. He was a big sports fan.
AJ Stephens
All right, so I'm sorry now to last night.
Nate Thompson
You're not sorry. I mean, you are, but you're not.
AJ Stephens
Yeah, I guess so. We're at the hotel last night, and we decide as much as. As much as we wanted to go out and you always want to explore a new city. Yo, did I tell you? Some woman on the elevator says this as I'm going down to meet you guys for dinner, man, the hotel lobby is crazy. You're in New Orleans. Who would ever get dinner at the hotel? Hey, where are you headed?
Nate Thompson
And I go to get dinner at the hotel.
AJ Stephens
It was great, though. The restaurant at our hotel is good.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, I mean, convenience right there, and it was good. It had a good vibe. There's a buzz in the lobby. You know, there's superstars and celebrities. Our colleagues are there partying. Yeah, why not? Yeah, it's fun. It was fun.
AJ Stephens
So we sit down. There's about eight. There's eight of us. We're hanging with some of the other On Air folks, our buddy, Rob Parker. Our buddy Weiss Covino, Spot video guy.
Nate Thompson
You really do have a great team. And it really does feel like you're.
Rich Davis
Hanging out with Good bud through all you guys. I was at Chris Stapleton.
AJ Stephens
Yeah, I know.
Nate Thompson
Danny G was at a Series XM concert.
AJ Stephens
Chris Stapleton, our buddy, super agent Sean Wyman was at Dinner. So here's the question. The waiter comes over who's also the bartender. They were.
Nate Thompson
They were efficient.
AJ Stephens
They were packed last night. So this guy comes out from behind the bar, and we. Our buddy that runs all the stuff here at Fox Sports Radio and Iheart, he's.
Nate Thompson
Well, not all the stuff. Mike runs this place. But Dave, we also, you know, is a powerful man, let's put it that way.
AJ Stephens
And he's like, yo, this bartender is great.
Deebo Samuel
He.
AJ Stephens
He gives a nice solid pour of a cocktail. He's good, he's quick. He, you know, he knows what's up. This guy comes over to our table and he's like, all right, appetizers, drinks and food, go.
Nate Thompson
Remember, there's eight of us, and there's eight of us.
AJ Stephens
And I'm like. I'm looking. He's like, no notepad, nothing. He's looking around and it's. And there's a couple pain in the asses, like, big mics, like, no croutons or something. And Covino, he was insistent upon. I got it. And he did not make one mistake.
Nate Thompson
I don't appreciate this.
AJ Stephens
Is that a pet peeve?
Nate Thompson
I really don't. Because if he were to make a mistake, because nobody's perfect except for Kurt Hennig, and he died so it would come back to. See, that's why you should have wrote it down. I said no cheese. I said no croutons, or whatever the case may be. There's no way he's always gets it right. You know what I mean? So I'm sort of, like, wary of this whole thing. I'm like, I don't like that. Why do you do that? It bothers me. Write it down. And then I have another question based on that. Danny G, what was your take on that?
Rich Davis
Just that he's trying to pull a Jay Z because he hove. Always pulled that thing where people are stunned because he would walk into the booth and just start rapping from what he wrote in his head.
Nate Thompson
Right, right, right.
Rich Davis
So these waiters. Try pulling that.
Nate Thompson
Yep. Yeah.
Rich Davis
You don't trust it.
Nate Thompson
I didn't tr. I always. As a waiter, you know, in my previous life, previous career, I always wrote everything down. I'm not taking that chance because again, I don't know, man. I guess the kitchen got it wrong. I wrote it. I entered it just the way you said it. I have written down right here.
AJ Stephens
Were you. Are you in the Bennigan's hall of Fame?
Nate Thompson
I am, actually. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They retired my.
AJ Stephens
My apron.
Nate Thompson
So I have another question. Based on that, by the way, no.
AJ Stephens
One has served more turkey. Oh, tonight tools than Steve Kavina.
Nate Thompson
Record holder right here. Your thoughts on that, by the way, because I'm not a fan. This guy happened to get it right. Big Mike.
AJ Stephens
Big Mike.
Nate Thompson
There's a lot of people that show off and don't get it right, and it bothers me.
AJ Stephens
Big Mike, who runs this place?
Rich Davis
Who?
Nate Thompson
Mike?
AJ Stephens
He did say.
Rich Davis
Never heard of him.
AJ Stephens
You might want to grab a pen. And the guy was adamant, like, nah, I got this. So your thoughts on those odd flexes? Like, I get it. Is it a showoff move? Is it, like, is he working on memory recognition? Like, what does that move?
Nate Thompson
You know what? I'll put right up there, too. I'll put right up there. When it comes to annoying waiter tactics, there's one move and then one move. That's just absurd. One move is when the guy, like, kneels down to your level. Like, he kneel. Like. And he got his elbows on the table. Like, so how you guys doing? It's like, hey, man, can you, like, stand up?
AJ Stephens
I know it's supposed to be cute, but it also bothers me when an attraction active waitress, like, scoots in your table.
Nate Thompson
I was just.
AJ Stephens
Fat Liz.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, I was just gonna say that with someone, like, you know, squeeze a chick and they sit next to you when they're taking the order. I'm like, get out of my booth. I don't like it. I don't like these little tactics, I guess. But I did want to ask this question, too, based on work trips and, you know, hanging with your colleagues, and a lot of times, you don't venture off too far on these adventures. But is it lame to get the same thing more than once when you're in a new city? We're in New Orleans, Right. So we were staying at the Marriott. They had a really great salad at this place we speak of called the summer salad. I got this, Rich. No joke. Maybe four times, five times, maybe this entire week, every time, I got it. Is that the lamest move of all time? Or when you like something, you stick with it? That's my question.
AJ Stephens
That restaurant had shrimp and grits.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, but you're always taking a chance. I didn't feel like taking that chance.
AJ Stephens
They had a ribeye. They had a cheeseburger. They had, like, a Southern fried chicken dish, like, summer salad.
Nate Thompson
Had some grilled chicken on it. I enjoyed it.
Rich Davis
You know what else? They had a potential stomach ache. Which is what Rich had prior to the show.
Nate Thompson
Exactly. So, like, I'M like, you know, it worked. We have a busy week. I feel nice and light. I enjoyed it. Why take the chance? So lame move or boss move, as the saying goes. But again, your thoughts on the waiter, let us know at 87799 on Fox. Chop it up.
AJ Stephens
Yeah, get the phones going. Be a little interactive. 87799 on Fox. Now, while we wait for your feedback, just know that coming up on the show, Drew Brees, Donovan McNabb, some QB legends. But right now, let's go to our pal Moncy Balanos for an update. Monsieur, do you like that move or not? When. When the waiter or waitress is like, I got it. And they try to memorize like 10 people.
Nate Thompson
So did they mess up?
AJ Stephens
They did not.
Nate Thompson
All right, so what are we hating on here? We're trying to find. Yeah, we're literally trying to find a problem that didn't exist. Yeah, I agree with Monty here.
Rich Davis
I thought you said they messed up on one. He messed up on one.
AJ Stephens
Came back one time, he goes, just checking, like, no cheese. Right? Like that was it. And besides that, I'm like, yo, is he just. Is it a shit? It's like almost a show off move.
Nate Thompson
Like, I think, you know what? I. Some people can just do that. It's not for everybody. Now if you are a server, don't try to do that. If that's not in you. I would always write it down. Just because I have short term memory in that sense. You know what I mean? Like, I rather just write it down.
AJ Stephens
You ever think, you know, maybe it's. It's a way to stay not bored at work? Like maybe this guy.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, like it's a challenge.
AJ Stephens
Yeah.
Nate Thompson
Like it keeps you engaged.
AJ Stephens
I'm here, you know, eight hours working the bar in this place. Let me memorize orders. It's fun.
Nate Thompson
Yeah. I think it's just some can do it and some can't. But you're looking for a problem that doesn't exist if they didn't mess up. And I'm speaking to Covino here because apparently he's the one that had a problem. Well, if there was a problem, yo, I'd solve it. Yeah. Just letting you know Fox Sports radio.
Rich Davis

It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
AJ Stephens
There was something sentimental when you. It was like when you send it. It was like, do I send the heart?
Nate Thompson
Now?
Bobby Bones
I don't like the color edition.
AJ Stephens
It's extremely pink.
Bobby Bones

Justin Pennik
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
What is going on?
Nate Thompson
I don't know. People are shouting here.
Rich Davis
I think Patrick Mahomes just walked in.
Nate Thompson
Sounded a little scary, to be honest. So we got a top 10 that Rich says he could slay here. The Athletic came out with an article of the top 10 halftime performances of all time. And if you ask Rich, I don't think that he thinks Kendrick Lamar is going to be in the top 10.
AJ Stephens
You know, I may have changed my mind on how fun it'll be. I still stand by the fact that, that a lot of our parents and aunts and uncles and, you know, the older people in your life might not really know.
Nate Thompson
You know what? The truth is, Danny G. And I were talking about this on our way to get that same salad again. For the fifth time, the NFL is not trying to win older people over. They don't care if your dad likes Kendrick Lamar or not. You know why? Because your dad's tuning into the NFL no matter what. They're trying to win over new fans all the time.
AJ Stephens
It's a great point.
Nate Thompson
It's great marketing. He's the hottest guy going right now. He just won, what, five Grammy Awards.
Rich Davis
And some reason they're so psyched with Taylor Swift bringing new fans.
Nate Thompson
Exactly. That's really what it's all about. So you got to be open to it. If you're not that familiar with them, top 10.
Rich Davis
All right, here we go. Let's see what you can do.
AJ Stephens
Okay.
Rich Davis
You want to start at the bottom of the list or the top?
AJ Stephens
You know, I'm going to just name them and you tell me if they're in the top 10, and I'll see if I could without three strikes like Family Feud.
Nate Thompson
All right, got it.
AJ Stephens
All right. I mean, I was saying played it out of the commercial. It was going to be my number one pick anyway. But. But Prince in the Rain, the silhouette, Purple Rain. Prince is on this list.
Rich Davis
Number one according to the athletic. Number one.
AJ Stephens
All right, so Prince on the list. See, you gotta go from the perspective of is it my favorite or is everyone else gonna say it's great? Because I'm gonna say, put Bruno Mars on this list.
Nate Thompson
I agree.
Rich Davis
Bruno Mars. Yep. Bruno Mars is tied for six.
Nate Thompson
He got on the drum set dancing.
Rich Davis
Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Nate Thompson
Yeah. I mean, he was awesome.
AJ Stephens
All right. I don't think so, but I bet because she was pregnant and she's huge and everyone loves her and she's a billionaire.
Nate Thompson
She was pregnant, man.
AJ Stephens
I didn't mean to use that way. Rihanna.
Rich Davis
Yes. Number nine.
AJ Stephens
Okay, you know why?
Nate Thompson
Because you know what the athletic's doing here, kids?
AJ Stephens
Because it wasn't.
Nate Thompson
You tell me.
AJ Stephens
Rihanna's top 10 wasn't the best performance. It was a baby announcement, if you remember correctly.
Rich Davis
Because she was holding.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, that was the top 10 weakest performance, aside from the baby.
AJ Stephens
You're holding your belly because you had too many po boys this week.
Nate Thompson
That's right. But look, I totally respect that beautiful moment. That. But that was a moment in a boring performance. Sorry.
AJ Stephens
All right, let me keep going. Again, Again, not the biggest fan of these guys, but I feel like people are going to say you too.
Rich Davis
Number three on the Appalachian Rich. He's on fire.
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
AJ Stephens
Okay.
Rich Davis
First time all week I was going.
AJ Stephens
To say I'm bound to miss one at some point. Now she jumped off the top of the stadium, and she's a big star. Stars Lady Gaga make the list.
Rich Davis
Lady Gaga did not make this list.
Nate Thompson
You're going to go Lady Gaga over Michael Jackson?
AJ Stephens
I was saving some.
Nate Thompson
But why would you save it?
AJ Stephens
Michael. Jack, put it up.
Rich Davis
Yes. Michael Jackson, of course, made the list. Number five.
AJ Stephens
Okay, mj. What? I mean, come on. All right. Super bowl halftime shows. That left an impression again. Kavino. Not my Ste. But I know what the people love, and I'm going to throw Beyonce on there.
Rich Davis
Beyonce and Destiny's Child number four.
Nate Thompson
O.
AJ Stephens
So they went back into.
Nate Thompson
Okay, critics and lists love Beyonce, which.
AJ Stephens
Is why I put her on. You know, Billboard named her the biggest pop star of the 21st century.
Nate Thompson
Beyonce was better than Rihanna. Where was she again?
Rich Davis
Number four.
AJ Stephens
Okay, okay. See, I like Maroon 5, but I'm not going there. Oh, I'm gonna get. I'm gonna get this one wrong, But Katy Perry with the dancing sharks.
Rich Davis
Number 10.
Nate Thompson
Yeah. All right.
AJ Stephens
Katy Perry, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, MJ. Now I'm saying you want to add one. I'm trying to think of who. I. I don't want to put the who on. I think they stunk. I was at that one.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, but critics love the who. Lists love stuff like that.
Rich Davis
I'll give you a clue of one. It didn't happen that long ago.
AJ Stephens
Don't tell me they put the weekend on.
Rich Davis
No.
AJ Stephens
All right. Because I didn't. That's not an official pick because that was during the coveted year.
Nate Thompson
How about Eminem? Dr. Dre?
Rich Davis
Oh, yeah, Dr. Dre and the crew. Number two.
AJ Stephens
All right. You know what? I wasn't even thinking recent. I'm like, that was.
Rich Davis
Yeah, man. How can you not think about Snoop up there with Dream.
AJ Stephens
Okay.
Nate Thompson
Rich was very critical of upside down 50cent, though.
AJ Stephens
Is he still up there?
Nate Thompson
People are wondering if he's still upside down.
AJ Stephens
Well, if you want to go hip hop and R and B. I. I know it was a year ago, but ur.
Seal
Sure.
AJ Stephens
Did he make the list?
Rich Davis
Sure is not.
Nate Thompson
Oh, man.
Rich Davis
I got two strikes.
AJ Stephens
I only got one strike left. And what, two remaining spots?
Rich Davis
Yes, sir.
AJ Stephens
Maroon 5. I'm not going with, even though I do like Adam Levine, the compilation of, like, when it was, like, Christina Aguilera. And didn't you go up there with, like, Phil Collins or something? No, I'm out.
Nate Thompson
Damn it.
Rich Davis
There was a tie at six. Shakira, Bad Bunny, and JLo.
Nate Thompson
Okay, did that start, Covid? Yeah, started right after that.
Rich Davis
Remember?
Nate Thompson
Yeah.
Rich Davis
And then number eight, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Mia, LMFAO, and CeeLo Green.
Deebo Samuel
Okay.
AJ Stephens
All right, you go. Hey, listen. Coming up.
Rich Davis
Pretty good, though. Pretty good.
AJ Stephens
Top 10, joined by Drew Bree. So legendary quarterback joins us next. Live from media Row, New Orleans, Kavino and Rich.
