I love Izzo, I love Pitino, and they're great coaches. And then give me Duke and Cooper flag, the best player easily in college basketball. Then give me Auburn.

I'd never seen anybody play. This year. It's like the WNBA draft. Like you're going to see domestic players that you watch. Big Ten, sec. I think Auburn's the best team I've seen. Bruce Pearl's excellent. I think he. I think that's a great team. But if you could give me Cooper flag. I mean, Duke's got like three NBA dudes.

At least three. By the way, you mentioned wnba. Did you see Caitlin Clark's team? Got like a bunch of good players in the offseason. I know you're not monitoring wnba, but Caitlin Clark.

No idea.

You did a great job. So DK Metcalf, middle of our show yesterday. I like him, but I've said this before. It could be A.J. brown, D.K. metcalf. It is the position, for whatever reasons that tends to be the most verbal. And sometimes that can be verbal slash, disruptive. I don't think DK Metcalf is disruptive, but last year, 35 catches were first downs. Amaran St. Brown, double. He also gets penalized a lot. Leads the league in penalty yards as a receiver since he entered it, a lot of that's temperamental. I would move off him, but he's 31 million. I think maybe you get a second or third round pick. Just give me the backstory on this. John Snyder has been great at drafting wide receivers, so they'll be fine. But give me the DK market story. What are you hearing?

[Diana Rossini]

Yeah, so right now, teams that are interested in dk, they've reached out to Seattle and they're being told right now that the compensation they're looking for is a first and third in exchange for the wide receiver. So that is very, very high. Let's just go Back to the A.J. brown trade. The Tennessee Titans and the Philadelphia Eagles, right, like that. That that's basically what we're talking about here. And I think we could all fairly say they are not the same player. And obviously a few years have gone by since then. So look, a lot of teams that I've talked to around the league that definitely had their eye on Seattle over the last few weeks, knowing that they could possibly be moving on, just feel that that price is just, it's too high.

[Colin Cowherd]

Yeah.

[Diana Rossini]

So I'm, I'm going to predict that that's going to change here soon.

[Colin Cowherd]

Yeah.

[Diana Rossini]

As they're testing out the market to see like, all right, we try to get our best, but that's probably going to be too much. DK wants a new deal. He wants about 30 million a year.

[Colin Cowherd]

Yeah.

[Diana Rossini]

And I do agree with you on, on how you are categorizing receivers in football. They are loud and they tend to be the ones with the most personality and sometimes the ones causing the biggest headaches. Yeah. But when you look at a player like dk, he's still a big guy. He's really good off the, off the ball. He obviously has come up with big catches. And when you're taking a look at just this free agent market of wide receivers, it's not great.

Yeah.

[Diana Rossini]

So I, I can see why there are teams poking around to try to see if they can get Seattle to move off this number here, at least of a first round pick in exchange knowing that, look, he could go to a team and quickly make a difference, but I do think he's going to need a team with a strong head coach. I was told he wants to go to a warm weather organization. So I think that cuts it down to some of the teams here that we're talking about that would be interested. And then you, I mean, Colin, just look around the league at every team that needs a receiver right now. You know what comes to mind? The Panthers, Jacksonville, the New England Patriots, Houston, the Chargers. For now. I can tell you none of those teams are going to pay that price. None of them. I've reached out to all of them. They're not going to do it.

All right.

[Diana Rossini]

But they, they certainly still have interest, I thought.

[Colin Cowherd]

An interesting story. I love what the Bears did. This is what Washington did last year before, before Jaden Daniels took an NFL snap. They went and got a couple of interior linemen and this is what the Bears did. Jonah Jackson, I get the Rams moving off that, but he's got a lot of experience. I was surprised considering that Mahomes was in peril and running for his life in big games last year that they moved off Joe Tuney, who did one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. They took a guard, put him at left tackle and was actually excellent. What I mean, we know the Bears probably did a really good thing here. What happened in Kansas City, like, I why did they move off him?

[Diana Rossini]

No, it's. It's a great point you make. I reported right after the super bowl, after talking with some people in Kansas City after their loss, like, make no mistake, Brett Veach is going to fix this. This is going to be priority number one, protecting Patrick Mahomes. This looked exactly the way it did in Tampa. We saw what they did then. And here in this situation, whenever I see them move off a player that I believe just from my own eyes, contributes so much more than just what we're seeing on the field, what it says to me is we're making moves for someone else. We've got our eye on someone that we think is either younger, cheaper, and I can tell you they've got a plan because Kansas City tends to do that, and which is why they have so much success. So while I think it's difficult for them to walk away from a player like this, who has brought so much success to them and has been part of the fabric of this team, I think in their mind, there's. There. There are players that they can bring in here and immediately have. Have a good impact here. And then obviously, on the other side of this for Chicago, I mean, come on, Ben Johnson's just doing what he saw in Detroit and what he did in Detroit, get some protection, and I can run whatever the heck I want to run. Right? So he's going to be able to do that and address it. And look, we can just keep going back to the super bowl as just like, the perfect example of how you want to build a team. Credit to Howie Roseman and. And the coaching by Nick Sirianni in that game. Right. The way they built that team, that championship roster, is how a lot of teams are trying to replicate. And it's not a secret. We've all known that that's the way to do it. Except I think this team truly highlighted that importance.

Okay, so it's not a good free agent quarterback market. It's not a good quarterback college market. So Sam Darnold, it would seem to me, would have a pretty viable market. Now, I said this the other day. Josh Allen was MVP. I watched him go 9 for 30 against Houston. I watched him be pretty awful against the Colts. Great quarterbacks have awful games. If the production is down, you're on the road. I mean, Darnold at Detroit, it felt like the biggest game in Detroit in a decade. But were those last two games, the one against the Rams where he was running for his life, and the game against Detroit where he just didn't play well. Are those going to eliminate the first 14 games? Because it doesn't feel like there's a huge Donald market.

[Diana Rossini]

I know it's. It's peculiar. And I've had conversations with people that are desperate for quarterbacks right now, and there's something about the way he lost those two games that is really leaving a bad taste in the mouths of these decision makers. And I do think it's layered. Okay. I think part of it is there is an attitude of, see, we told you Donald isn't that good. That was just lightning in a bottle. Things just lined up, right? He, you know, they were winning in certain games because certain situations. This isn't the real Sam Darnold. We're just getting the best version of him in this moment. This isn't the true man. Okay, so you have that. Then you have another layer to this where people believe that Kevin O'Connell is the best coach for Sam Darnold. So if you're a coach who, let's say, is on a short lease leash and you're selling to your owner and your gm, like, let's go get Sam, I can do it. There may be some hesitance there. Can you get the same Sam Darnold that Kevin O'Connell was able to get? You know, this idea that no one truly knows who Sam Darnold is, I feel like has been following him his entire career, going back to when he was throwing at sc. And I had people on the ground telling me, wait, Sam Darnold is going to be the next big thing. And those same people that I would stay in touch with over the years when Sam was struggling would. Would be so frustrated because they would be like, you don't understand. He's good. This just. These aren't the right programs for him. And so in Minnesota, it's the best program for him, which is. I think there's going to be an effort made from both Darnold's camp and from the Vikings camp to try to make something work here. But, Colin, you're right. I talked to you at the Super Bowl. I think one of the things I shared with you is I was really expecting Sam's market to be in the 40s. I do not predict it to be that. I think it's going to be less than that. I think it's going to be in the low 30s, possibly maybe even high 20s, if Minnesota can get the kind of deal that they want to get. But it is certainly changed considering last week we were chasing the Matthew Stafford Story like a bunch of lunatics knowing that these teams were so desperate to get Stafford in the building. Being the Vegas Raiders, the New York Giants, they are not going aggressively hard at Sam Darnold the way they were going after Matthew Stafford. Understandably.

You know, it's. It's the same thing with movies. Great movie, lousy 12 minutes at the end. You think it's a bad movie. Darnold had a lousy couple of games and it's just like, you know, Josh Allen had a bad game, it's against Houston, nobody remembers it. And that's just the way it is sometimes. Timing is everything now. So I would argue on the behalf of Aaron Rodgers, who I have been critical of before. So when they fired Robert Sal in New York, they lost their best coach, in my opinion. I think Sala can coach. I'd give him another chance at a head coaching job. Jets are a mess and I thought they had a very weak staff that point forward. And yet in the last 10 games, without great protection, Aaron was pretty good. So again, like Darnold, I think the pendulum has swung too far on Aaron Rodgers. If I was the Raiders, I would take him today. I don't get this. It appears now, is this an Aaron thing? I. You can't. His last 10 games, he almost had 100 quarterback rating and it was a suboptimal staff. So what's going on with Aaron?

What's going on with us? Why are we starting to agree? I need to go on Nick Wright's show. I need to fight with someone and to be. We're in line too. What does that say about my life right now that I'm in line with you on all this stuff? Because I agree. I just was talking about it on my podcast that, you know, my, my co host Chase said, how do you think Giants fans should feel about the idea of Aaron Rodgers playing for the Giants? And I said they should feel the way the jets fans felt two years ago, optimistic. Because I can tell you I've spoken to enough people around the league who believe that Aaron Rodgers still has something left in the tank and it's decent and put him in the right environment with the right head coach who can be a little bit more demanding and hold him to the same type of rules and stu standards and, and the way they wanted to run, you know, treat him like everyone else. I, I think we can get that. They could squeeze a little bit of the, of the juice out of them. It's just going to be where is he going to flourish best the Ram situation was so ideal, Colin. And, and I, I really, I. I thought that. I thought it was going to happen. At one point when I was in Indianapolis at the scouting combine last week, I said, this is, this is really gonna happen. Matthew Stafford's gonna leave and Rogers is going to go there. Stafford decided to stick with Sean McVay for another year, and the Raiders are going to poke around. Here's what I can tell you. When we're, like, lining teams up with veteran quarterbacks. Every team that needs a quarterback right now has a line out to every single available veteran quarterback at this moment. Because right now, no one can read the landscape well because we don't know who's going where. You know, the idea of Daniel Jones going to India is on the table. Could he possibly go to Vegas? Right. Chip Kelly, you know, he's going to want a mobile quarterback. Could, could Justin Fields leave Pittsburgh? Perhaps he can wind up in Vegas. Maybe the Russell Wilson thing could perhaps turn into him going to Las Vegas. All of this is on the table and, and the teams are being really open about it. No one's being coy. Like, we got our eye on just one guy. Everyone is saying the same thing as which we've got to reach out to everyone because we have no idea how this is going to shake.

Okay. Diana Rossini. You know, it's interesting. So I think people forget this. Remember when Brady had that bad final game in New England? I think it was a pick six against Tennessee and he lost that game. And Brady had no market. People forget this. One of my favorite GMs down in Tampa, you know that. And the Chargers. So to. The Chargers were in on it. They finished second and the Bucks. Two teams on a Brady. Brady was still a top five quarterback, but it was like, you know, you watched at the end of the year, the. The Patriots receivers were awful. Tom was struggling through no fault of his own. They didn't have any receivers that could separate. And like Darnold has two bad games. I'll say it again. Detroit has a much better roster. It was a. It was just a game. Detroit was not going to lose at home. They were not going to lose that game. And the Rams sacked Arnold the following week because they couldn't block the Rams. They had like nine sacks. Are you forgetting the first 14, 15 weeks? It's crazy to me that Darnold has no market. It's crazy to me that because Aaron Rodgers. The jets were such a circus. I don't know. I. I watched Aaron at the end of the year, and I thought, that looks like Vegas to me. That looks like. I mean, if Brock Purdy was like, I want 60. If I was San Francisco, I'd go get Aaron Rodgers for a year. I don't know. It's. It's. I'm fascinated by this all the time in the NFL that, like, players I really like, people are reticent on. And it's like. And I. I understand. Like I said before, I always joked about this with the movie Usual Suspects. I think it's a good movie with an unbelievable ending. So people categorize Usual Suspects as a great movie. It's a good movie. It's a good movie. It's got a great last 12 minutes, historically. Great. Now, I think Castaways is a great movie with a goofy ending. I mean, he goes from talking to a volleyball to back to being an insurance broker in like, one scene. Like, give me a break. So I. I think it does matter how things end. Right? Right. You want a good ending to a movie? You want a good ending, you can lose. I mean, it's really funny. Go look at Patrick Mahomes has dominated the league. He had a terrible game against Philadelphia, and everybody's like, you know, I'm out on Kansas City. You know, Mahomes always was a little overrated. It's like, guys, it was a bad game against a superior team. So what happened to Darnold against the Lions? Is what happened to Mahomes against Philadelphia. Way better roster. And you can get overwhelmed very quickly in this league.

Yep. Sometimes you have too many mouths to feed and you don't have enough footballs. There's only one football and you're trying to feed Christian McCaffrey Kittle IU, you're trying to get it to Depot and and now you got this draft picking Purcell and you're trying to make sure you keep everybody happy and it's very difficult to do. And I think this kind of simplifies things. I think it gets Kittle more involved in the offense and he obviously has been fantastic and one of the best tight ends in the game. And I think that's something that down the stretch Kyle Shanahan realized that hey, we're not using George Kittle enough. We need to find a way to get him in ball and you cannot get everybody the ball when you have.

Yeah, and he was getting a little noisy. I agree. This goes back to my theory that let's not go crazy on wide receivers. I know we have a good plan. I know we can, you know, do the right things to help the players improve, help the team improve, put a good product on the field. Everybody that can help us and buys into it and wants to be part of it will be part of it. That's here. And if they don't, then that's, you know, that's their decision. You know, it's starting to put everything together. Here's how we do things, here's what our expectations are. This is, this is what you need to do to be successful. And they've embraced that. They've tried to do it. He's all draped up in that MJ gear, Jordan gear.

Little jump man, you know, he looked.

Like a College coach there. He and Pitino, they don't want high school players. They want to go transfer portal. And I don't, I don't, I don't disagree at all. Like Patino's like, I'm not going to.

Teach you something bad for high school seniors. Like why would I want an 18, 19 year old when I could get a 22 year old in the portal? Like, come on, that's a no brainer. This guy's been in college football forever. I just need to say once again, as a Jets fan, I did not like Belichick. I didn't like. I'm loving this North Carolina heel turn. See what I did there? Tar Heels heel.

Yeah, yeah. I will tell you this year in college football, so Michigan's going to be way better. Okay? Michigan is going to be back. Alabama I think will be better. Carolina is going to be fascinating. Arch Manning at Texas, believe it or not, USC is going to be interesting.

You need to watch out for USC's head coach.

Hey, just keep your eye out there. It's going to be a very. Some of the bigger brands are back. Michigan was bad last year. Alabama wasn't very good. Texas I think will be better with Arch Manning.

Honestly, Ohio State's two best players. Jeremiah Smith, receiver. Caleb Downs, corner, in my opinion, would go after Cam Ward going number one because quarterback trumps everything. Those guys would go two and three in this year's draft. They would go. I, Jeremiah Smith would go to. Caleb Downs is an insane talent in a second.

I had two, I think 17 year olds who were showing out last year. Then you got the Georgia quarterback going to Miami to kind of rejuvenate his career. College football's got a good storyline, really good story.

Nice get by you. Or is that Dave, whoever gets the props there. A final story. This is interesting. So Steve Kerr has chimed in on the Steph Curry position and the goat discussion. We heard that earlier. But also in that interview, Kerr addressed his future as a head coach and listen to how long he plans on coaching the Warriors.

I think every coaching job has a, an expiration date and I think it's important for, you know, all parties involved to be aware of that. And so there's probably something to that. But I, I don't spend much time thinking about that.

I love what I do and I.

Love the this team. I love coaching these guys every day and I'm just going to keep plugging.

Away with them and see what we can accomplish and then we'll worry about.

All that stuff later. I think that's real smart. Yeah, you know, he, he is really. If you think about Steve Kerr, this is unbelievable. So he played for the greatest basketball team ever.

Jordan's Bulls, second greatest.

But yeah, he was an un. I thought he was a great broadcaster. Not good great. I mean, I'll put him up there with any analyst that's ever done it. Goes and becomes a general manager. More than capable, if not great, more than capable and a great coach. You find me a guy that literally his basketball resume rivals. I mean, Phil Jackson, like Kerr was a good player and Phil was a great coach, but Phil didn't work at GM and Phil didn't broadcast. He just, he got a lot of rings. But I mean, who is the comp for Kerr? Listen, great, I mean, A plus broadcaster, a plus coach on the best basketball team ever.

Some of it is, you know, good fortune. He lands next to Michael Jordan in the back court, like, that's good. He gets the Mark Jackson coaching job and gets Steph Curry ascending to become one of the greatest players.

[Colin Cowherd]

Let me ask you this. Why did he get though? Why did the Bulls want him?

[Jason McIntyre]

Timing, Good fortune.

[Colin Cowherd]

Or maybe they knew Phil Jackson knew. Super smart kid can play in.

[Jason McIntyre]

Yeah, I'm not poo pooing it. I'm just like sometimes it's. Timing is a lot in life. It's. It's not. I'm sure there's other great coaches who got shafted by getting stuck with certain players, shall we say?

[Colin Cowherd]

He also, he's also smart. He turned down.

Oh, didn't he turn down the Knicks?

[Colin Cowherd]

Yes. Yeah, that's right. He went to one of his mentors, Phil Jackson, and turned him down to be the coach. Well, at the time, James Dolan had had too many tentacles on the team. It was a bad job job. So, I mean, and Phil Jackson tried the GM part. It was, you know, I'm not necessarily saying it's all his fault, but it did not work. He didn't feel like he was really all in. He took a big paycheck. I don't think he cared about it.

[Jason McIntyre]

Phil Jackson went from Michael Jordan's dynasty to Shaq and Kobe, like that's part of the reason.

[Colin Cowherd]

But you're not giving Phil credit. I think there's a reason, Phil. By the way, Dell Harris was there before. Now, Shaq and Kobe were younger, but Dale Harris was there before Phil Jackson.

[Jason McIntyre]

The Kobe air balls in the playoffs.

Against the Jazz, you know, this, this. The timing thing is a little. It's a little overrated. So timing's a little. You, you make a lot of your own timing. I mean, Phil Jackson, good player, bad gm, great coach. Kerr's been good at everything. I mean, everything. I think people forget how good of a broadcast. Yeah.

What happens if Kerr takes that next job? No, no, he doesn't take the warriors out.

[Colin Cowherd]

But here's the thing. He's too smart to take so.

Judgment.

Yes, he's got remarkable judgment. And Kerr has something that I really like. He's got the ability to be very contentious. He'll go toe to toe with Draymond. He. He got a fight with Michael Jordan, yet he never holds grudges. That's an. Everybody holds grudges today. Steve Kerr has gotten into a fist fight with Michael Jordan and they're still today tight. He's gotten into. I mean, like, like really? I, I know somebody that was outside of a locker room when Draymond and Kerr were barking. It was hot. And doesn't hold grudges. That is a great skill you may not have. You may not forget what happened. You're keenly aware of what could happen again. He doesn't hold grudges.

Okay. So I thought Shaq had a bite this week. I really love this. And so you know, J Mac hates inside the NBA. Think it's really hurting the league. And I'm like, no, it's the most entertaining show by a mile in the league. And we have to have one NBA show that's critical of players. You know it can't be a loofah sponge every day, every way, how great the players are. So I'm okay. I like those guys. I know Barkley a little. I don't know Ernie, I know Kenny a little. I don't know Shaq, but I like those guys. So Shaq said this about Curry earlier this week. Steph Curry. I demand you fans to start putting Steph Curry in that greatest of all time conversation. Just start putting them in the conversation. So the conversation of Jordan, LeBron, Kobe, start putting stuff in that conversation. I demand it. Why does the big men alliance need to say something? Because I am the supreme leader and my voice counts and I'm saying, listen, I played against Mike, played with Kobe, played against him with LeBron. They're all, all great. But you go, at some point we're gonna have to put Steph, Steph Curry in that category. So in the all time starting five in the history of the NBA, there have been three people that are etched in stone. Nobody's arguing. Michael's the two guard. Nobody's arguing. Kareem's the center. Folks, he had the impossible, the most unstoppable shot in league history. Led the NBA in scoring most of my adult life. And then LeBron James put him at three, four. I don't care. LeBron's on the team. I always thought Magic Johnson was also etched in stone, but Curry is aging so well that we have a crane and a scaffolding. We have sent them to Mount Rushmore and we are seriously considering, we are considering moving Magic Johnson. And I think that's the ultimate compliment is that you got to consider Steph Curry and, and to J max point, there are certain people like I think Jim Brown, who was a great running back in whatever era it was. I think Jim Brown could play in the NFL today. Like there are people. Hank Aaron could play in any. Hank could hit for some average, some power. I think Jim Brown could play in any era. I think Wilt could play in any era. There are some great players I don't think age quite as well. Like Magic would obviously be great, but he was a bad defender and he can't shoot and it's a shooters league. And because of the spacing now he'd be on an island defensively a lot, which is okay for Luka because you'll get 34 on the other end. But I don't think Magic would be. And it just, I just don't. I think Magic would be great. I don't think he feels now Larry Bird to me would age very well because he'd shoot more threes and he's a six, nine and a half guy who is an unbelievable passer and shooter and any was great in his era. But I do think Bird fits this style a little better than Magic Steph Curry. I mean this isn't he 37 this week? He's 37 this week. And it's funny when anybody compares like what a star is. Go look at the warriors when Steph's not on the floor. It's just not the same franchise. I mean, I would make this argument that Steph Curry is not only the most revolutionary player ever in basketball. If you took every single sport in America, every single sports league in America, nobody has been more singularly valuable to his franchise's worth. The Dallas Cowboys were worth a fortune when Troy Aikman was the quarterback. Dak is the quarterback. The Knicks were worth a lot of money when Earl Monroe and Willis Reed and Walt Frazier were there. They were worth a lot of money when Pat Riley coached. They're still a top five most valuable franchise. Lakers mattered when Kareem was there. Wilt was there. The late Jerry west was there. The Lakers have always had massive value. The Golden State warriors were a dead franchise. And in a recent. I, I'm sorry, the. The website escapes me. Fos, I think is what it is front office sports. I think maybe it was Sportico. I apologize. It was one of those two that they named the most valuable sports franchises in America. I think the warriors are like two. That is all Steph Curry. That is all Steph Curry. So I, I think there's, I mean that is just insane. You could take Magic Johnson out in the history of the Lakers. They'd be worth a lot of money. Kobe, Shaq, Kareem west, they had the logo. They. It's the Lakers. They've been good forever. But I, I like that Curry's getting his just desserts. Here's something else. So I. Yesterday I briefly mentioned this. I have to watch out. Old Mr. Sensitive here gets, gets his feels on. Whenever I mentioned the Brock Purdy contract. So there's a story he's going to get. Niners offered him 45 million. That's. That's about what he's worth. I mean, it's amazing to me though. I mean like Sam Darnold has no market. Everybody's like 33 for Darnold. But give Jamar Chase 40 million, he's a receiver. What are we doing here? But Brock Purdy. Yesterday I said my problem Paying a quarterback top of the market is you can't struggle against the good teams and you can't have to have a completely full and healthy roster for you to win games. They won six games last year. What do you want me to say about Brock Purdy? They could they call those KPIs in business and his KPIs aren't very good. The key indicators aren't very good. But just for a comp on this because you can make the argument, well, I mean, what, what, what? Quarterbacks good against playoff teams. So Purdy, one in six last year against playoff teams. Okay. Lamar Jackson, the last two years, he gets nothing but hate against playoff teams. Dude has a 115 passer rating, 38 TDs, eight picks. And for the record, the playoff teams, I would argue the last two years in the AFC are much better than the playoff teams Brock Purdy faces in the nfc. So I'll pay Lamar Jackson whatever the market dictates and burrow. And Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy, it is circumstantial. His success has been circumstantial. Situational, bad team, often at home, everybody's healthy, weather's ideal. If it gets overcast and drizzly and I think about, you'll be less of a quarterback. I said this about tua. When tua's playing, my question is what month is it and what's the weather? I cannot pay a top of the market if I'm asking about weather. I'm not asking about weather with Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes. So it's, it's just, you know, next time you bang on Lamar Jackson, his record against playoff teams is better than 90 of the league's quarterbacks against non playoffs.

So what's the line about stats? Stats are like a bikini. They show you a lot, but they don't show you everything. Yeah, interesting that we see Brock Purdy stats from last season when, oh, by the way, everybody was hurt. Interesting that we don't have the stats from 20, 22 and 23 when Purdy led them deep into the playoffs. I would like to see those numbers against playoff teams. He was excellent. Yes, look at that. In his career as a starter, he's look up to 500 first playoff teams in three years as a starter. First three years in the league. That's much better than the one in five.

And 27 touchdowns. 12 picks. So maybe the defense is to blame. Kyle, I know you don't love Purdy. I'm not saying you're a hater, but this idea that like they're going to be fine without him. Kyle Shanahan is one of the smartest offensive minds in the league. Would you agree?

He will not let Brock Purdy go. That should tell you something. Kevin O'Connell's like Sam Darnold. We lose him, we lose him. We'd like to have him back. The Niners refused to let go of.

Brock, but let's, let's again, George Kittle was the number one Reddit tight end Juwan Jennings was a top 13 receiver. Trent Williams played for about 3/4 of the season. Let's not act like Debo was available. They had plenty of weapons. Christian McCaffrey obviously hurts, but they did this idea that he lost everybody. He lost Trent Williams and Christian McCaffrey.

And IU because number one, according to you, they were down to like their four string running back. Like again, we've got multiple years of. Look at that smirk on his face. We got multiple years of data on Purdy being great. We have one down season here. I think we need to pump the break now. You got me back on the Niners train. I was ready to call them old like an hour ago.

[Colin Cowherd]

Well, they do. I, I think what the Niners have, which is really good, good is that they've done a good job. Compensatory picks. They have 12 draft picks now. It's not 12. Yeah. So it's not a great draft, but they've got like, I think multiple threes, multiple fours. So San Francisco, if they hit on half of their draft picks and the analytics tell you you hit on about 51 of your draft picks. If they hit on 6 of their draft picks, they need a corner, they need to write tackle.

Can they get four new starters in the draft? Out of 12, that's 25.

[Colin Cowherd]

They can get three new starters, but they can also get about four guys that play significant roles.

[Jason McIntyre]

Yeah, I mean, that's that. The rules always been in the NFL. Can you get three starters? If you do, it's a good draft. If you can get three starters, it is. I mean last year, Joel for the Chargers, lad McConkey, by the way, I think I could be wrong on this, but they got two corners in the fifth round for the Chargers. Both play starting.

Yeah.

Like that's a great draft. If you're getting guys in the fifth that are in the rotation and playing and maybe a year away from being productive starters, that is an unbelievable draft.

[Jason McIntyre]

Yeah. Remember they had lost McGlinchey their right tackle to the to the Broncos little bit of a sag. If we could go back to the Chiefs for a second. Colin, I'm very curious what happened with Tuni. He was all pro. No, he was on your list of top 10 players and they just moved off.

[Colin Cowherd]

Now they franchise tag Trey Smith the guard and they have the best center in the game, Creed Humphrey. So I think their take is, you know, we have the best center. Trey Smith were franchise we can't pay our three interior linemen all big money. So you just have to cross your fingers. It could tell you what he excelled.

At left tackle when he was installed except in the Super Bowl.

I would say would tell you that they're going to draft two offensive linemen because they have remember they think worthy and Rasheed Rice. Now they got their wide receivers finally three years now finally they have their wide receiver set. I think they're going to go heavy o line in the draft.
