And let's not forget besides your wild card games this weekend, college championship on Monday night. And the more I look at this at DraftKings, I loved Ohio State minus eight. It's up to eight and a half now that which shows people are riding Ohio State here. I still think they are too explosive. You know, my heart says I know way more people that went to Notre Dame like Notre Dame. But you know I'll roll with your brother in law. I love Ohio State.
Covino
I mean I wouldn't roll with my brother in law. I'm just simply rooting for my brother in law. You know. That's it.
Bobby Bones
So hey, Ohio State -8 and feels still like the pick for me.
Covino
I mean you might want to save that for weekend hobnob and what you need to watch right before we get.
Bobby Bones
To Pete Alonzo because I know you have thoughts on former New York Met Pete Alonzo. I can't believe I haven't asked you at all today, your thoughts on the supreme court saying, yeah, TikTok's done. You think Mr. Beast or Mr. Wonderful is someone's going to come in in the next 48 to 72 hours?
Covino
I heard from my guy, Jack Mack, who's my favorite dude at Barstool. I don't care about anyone else except for Jack Mack. He's my favorite. Rich is always talking about all the women on Barstool. I don't know any of them.
Bobby Bones
You know, I mentioned Brianna Chicken Fry and Kavina's like who I'm like, mentions her every day.
Covino
Every day.
Bobby Bones
Kfc Barstool is a Mets fan. I like him.
Covino
I like kfc. But Jack Mac's my favorite.
Bobby Bones
Okay, well, what did he say?
Covino
He said that on Monday, Mr. Trump invited the owner and founder of TikTok to the inauguration. He's got like a front row seat. So why would he be inviting that dude? Right. If they didn't have some sort of plan on working things through and figuring it out. So maybe it does go away, but maybe it's just on hold until they figure it out. Because you think he's gonna invite this guy and his dude's gonna show up and they're not gonna figure something out together.
Bobby Bones
Well, didn't this thing ends though on Sunday? Can't they. Wasn't there an option for the Supreme Court and President Biden to maybe do a 30 to 90 day, you know, I guess a delay of sorts. I was. Sam, you have some insight.
Covino
Well, I'm sorry.
Bobby Bones
I want. Actually wanted to go back to the. I think it's the CEO of TikTok being at the inauguration.
Covino
Yeah, all of the.
Bobby Bones
Oh, he's singing with the Village People. All of the tech CEOs are going to like be at the inauguration. Like Google Meta. Cause they've all donated to the Trump inauguration fund. So like they're. I don't know he's gonna be there though. He's in D.C. already. So that's just wanted to offer that.
Covino
Doesn't that say a lot to you though? That there's gotta be some sort of resolution? I think so. There's too much at stake. I know for a lot of people. Just sounds like a stupid app. Yeah, a stupid app that's worth a lot of money that is consuming us.
Bobby Bones
Generates a lot. There's almost 200 million users in the United States.
Covino
Exactly.
Bobby Bones
And listen, no one wants Chinese shenanig getting, you know, messing up our situation.
Covino
That's what they'll figure out.
Bobby Bones
And I will say there's two types.
Covino
Of people, players and haters. I know. We know your theory. Rich builds theories on Taylor Swift songs.
Bobby Bones
That's not true. But it's a good theory, though. But there are people that are happy for other people's success.
Covino
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones
And then there's people that don't like anyone having stuff they don't have. So you got a lot of people that are saying, oh, wow, so a bunch of influencers are gonna lose income. I look at it like, that's a bummer, man. There's a lot of younger generation people that make a nice side hustle or money.
Covino
Spent years building a following.
Bobby Bones
Like even a guy like Brandon. Brandon who works in the editing department. He. He posts on TikTok some really great fantasy football stuff and he's like, yeah, dude, I made some money off of that. That's. It stinks for the younger generation that look at social media as a way to make money because TikTok did pay. So I don't look at it as wah. I look at it as, yeah, it does suck for a lot of younger people. And there's people that make not just a couple hundo or a couple thousand here and there. There's people that their whole livelihood.
Covino
I care, I sympathize. But I do think it would be a blessing in disguise if it were to go away. To be honest.
Bobby Bones
You know, I, like I said to you before, take away TikTok. It's not like you're going to be like A.J. brown reading books all of a sudden.
Covino
You don't.
Bobby Bones
You're going to just be scrolling on Instagram more.
Covino
I'll be reading Inner Help or whatever.
Bobby Bones
It was called, Inner Excellence, about to.
Covino
Be an uptick in real estate agents. I'd be reading all sorts of SEL.
Bobby Bones
Dr. Seuss books saying all these hot Instagram girls and TikTok girls are now going to be selling, selling homes.
Covino
Selling homes, Frying our brains and our kids beyond a chicken Friday. And it's so addictive. So I think we'd find more productive use of our time. But I don't want to see people lose money and I'm hoping that things will be figured out and squared away.
Bobby Bones
Well, hey, we'll. We'll keep you in the loop. But as of now, the Supreme Court said later to you.
Covino
As of now, you could still follow us though, at Steve Covcovino, Rich Davis, @ Covino and Rich, and of course, Fox Sports Radio.
Bobby Bones
It's like watching a show, you know, that's going to get canceled. Follow us on TikTok for the next 48 hours. Let me ask you this. I'm a big Mets fan. You're a Yankees fan? Before we get back into football, I don't know if I have my Mets goggles on. I'm trying to think of a Met that wore glasses. Chris Sabo was a red. Wore glasses. I don't know if I have my Mets goggles on.
Covino
Didn't George Foster wear glasses at one point?
Bobby Bones
He did in like, 84. But Pete Alonso. Yes, he had a down year.
Covino
Yeah, but his down year was better than most people's years.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but I want to just throw some numbers at you knuckleheads.
Covino
Can't say he had a down year with 34 home runs and 88 RBI.
Bobby Bones
Okay, perfect.
Covino
Maybe a down year for him. All right, but not down year.
Bobby Bones
Pete. Alonzo, I don't know if you know how this works. You don't get younger, you get older. Yeah, okay.
Covino
In fact, I know how old he is, you condescending nerd. He's 30. That's not old in baseball.
Bobby Bones
So.
Covino
All right, he's 30 years old.
Bobby Bones
I agree. Guys get big contracts until they're 40. I get it. But Pete Alonso is 30. He's not the most nimble guy. You've seen Pete Alonso rounding third, and you're like, my goodness, he's no Giancarlo Stanton. But you know, Pete Alonso is not the most nimble fella.
Covino
Oh, lucky. Luckily he plays first base, but he's.
Bobby Bones
A decent first basem. He's not a gold Glover. It's not like you're.
Covino
Wait, hold on. I got to stop right there and at least give you a counterpoint. Were you ever counting on Alonzo to be a base stealer? No, no, no, Never.
Bobby Bones
I'm saying he's not going to get faster. He's only going to get slower and beefier.
Covino
Did you ever have him because he was quick on his feet? Never. He's always been a big galute.
Bobby Bones
I'm going to give you some numbers, and when you talk about GMs, I'm not a saber metrics type of guy. I'm not. I'm not a. Look at the number. I. I think I'm in between. It's instinct and numbers together. Anyone that relies on one of those things, you can't rely on your gut 100%, and you can't rely on numbers.
Covino
100%, but home runs, 256N2, 26 total.
Bobby Bones
Remember rookie year? Unstoppable. 53 dingers. The last three years. Let's go. Last three years, right? 40, 46, 34. So a career low in home runs, RBI the last three years.
Covino
Hold on, though. He also had some very clutch home runs. When they mattered.
Bobby Bones
That is true.
Covino
When they mattered in the playoffs.
Bobby Bones
That is the next layer of the conversation. Save your thoughts. But as far as regular season production, Home runs down. His lowest RBI three years ago, he led the league 131. Two years ago, 118. Last year, 88 strikeouts. Three years ago, 128. Two years ago. He struck out 151 times. Last year, 172 times.
Covino
So what? He had one down year?
Bobby Bones
No, I'm saying the numbers are trending away from Pete Alonzo. Home runs down, RBI down, strikeouts up. Getting older. Yet I still think three years, $70 million, final offer. I think the Mets are doing them a little dirty.
Covino
I think they're completely doing them dirty.
Bobby Bones
And you know what?
Covino
I had in my mind all the right things, like, oh, we like him as a guy. We wanted to work it out. That's bs. That's like a woman saying, look, I really love you and I really like you, but, you know, I just feel the need to see other dudes. It's like, well, then you don't love me that much.
Bobby Bones
I listen because guess what?
Covino
The Mets could say all the right things. They don't love him enough to give him what he wants.
Bobby Bones
They gave Juan Soto 765 over 15.
Covino
They just signed Winker. They just signed AJ Minter for 22 million for two years, your new lefty reliever.
Bobby Bones
And they signed Mania, starting pitcher, lefty, who did great in the postseason. They gave him, get this three year, 75 million. And that's where it rubbed me weird because I know that pitching is more important to get that rotation going. And Mania really clicked last year.
Covino
I just think he's a homegrown dude. He. It could have been a lifelong Met that would be on the brink of breaking lots of Met records. I think he has a good relationship with the fans. I think the fans like Pete Alonso.
Bobby Bones
He's the guy that started let's effing go.
Covino
Yeah, he's a little goofy. And I think, you know, because he's grown up in Citi Field, we've accepted him as the goofy Met guy. But he puts up big numbers. I really saw him as the next David Wright, like the next guy that could be the face of your team. All these other cast of characters, yeah, they're big stars, but they're not Pete Alonso, I mean, listen. And I think New York needs a guy like him.
Bobby Bones
The Mets have to keep up with the Braves, the Phillies, the Yankees, the Dodgers, the Padres, the elite teams, the Astros.
Covino
Dude, I wish the Yankees would get rid of Goldschmidt. I wish there was a way. And then scoop up Pete Alonzo. Seriously, because he's a first. You don't need him to be limber and agile. He's a big, lumbering, power hitting first baseman.
Bobby Bones
But as the off season carried along, I thought the Mets were not going to give him six or seven years. I thought the Mets were going to give Pete. I thought the final contract offer would be four years, 120. I thought they were really going to give him 30 a year. And Monty has breaking news in the baseball world. What do you got, Monty? Let's hear it. Oh my goodness.
Covino
Breaking news from Fox Sports.
Monty
I mean, you guys aren't going to care as much about this as Danny G and I guys, but Roki Sasaki, who we have been waiting for, right? Like it was Padres, Blue Jays, Dodgers. Officially he is signing with the Dodgers. On his Instagram, he broke the news posting a picture of the Dodgers.
Covino
Wow. Let's go.
Monty
It's happening. He said it was a very difficult decision, but I will do my best to make it the right decision. When I look back after my baseball career, obviously this is translated. I want to slip my sleeve on the Dodgers uniform at the opening conference conference, thanking everyone who has supported me thus far. This was translated. So it probably sounds a little funky because I pressed the Translate, but yes, 23 year old, right hand, right handed pitcher coming to the Doyers.
Bobby Bones
Can you translate it from yen to dollars? What's the. I don't. Do we know the numbers yet?
Monty
No, we do not know the numbers. We don't know. Everyone is literally going off this Instagram picture that he posted seven minutes ago.
Matt Castle
Wow.
Covino
I'm not surprised. So the rich not richer.
Monty
The rich get richer.
Bobby Bones
Bring it.
Covino
Wait, so you mean to tell me he's joining the team that has Shohei Ohtani and that just won a World Series and Yamamoto. That's right. That's going to pay him.
Bobby Bones
And I heard, I heard he just donated $600,000 to the fire. There we go.
Monty
And also I do think the Mets are not doing right by Pete Alonso.
Bobby Bones
You know, Monty, I'm curious what your thoughts are because you and Danny, west coast Dodgers fans, you're more in sync with Padres, Dodgers, Giants. When you look at the NL east before you met me and heard Me talking about Pete all the time, was your impression that he's a premier power hitter? Yes.
Monty
And also I'm just big on loyalty and I just feel like the Mets and should be a little bit more loyal to him and what he did. Especially like if we're like, what have you done for me lately? Well, I helped you win in the playoffs.
Covino
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Three run home run off of Devin Williams, one of the premier closers in baseball. If not for that Pete Alonzo home run. All those theatrics against the Phillies and the Dodger series, that doesn't happen if Pete doesn't hit that home run.
Covino
And yeah, I really feel he was a Met through and through. That's your guy. That's your dude. Right. And now you throw him away like yesterday's diapers. And I do think it takes away from the Juan Soto deal. What made the Juan Soto deal so awesome you're adding you guys is like you're adding him to the team that made the playoffs and that was the team that involved a power hitting Pete Alonso.
Bobby Bones
I've heard, I've heard.
Covino
So it's like you will now. Now you're missing a major bat at first base. I don't like, I don't like that for your Mets.
Bobby Bones
I've heard a lot of my Mets fans friends say the Soto deal feels less. Yes, because if you told me, add Soto to Alonzo Lindor, you're stacked. Vientos Nimmo. Now, sudden the Mets have a lineup. It's not the Dodgers lineup, but it's getting there. You take away Pete, you're right, you're taking away a guaranteed 30, 40 or 50 home runs.
Covino
But I think you're banking on Vladi Guerrero.
Bobby Bones
My big takeaway is that they're banking on getting Vladdy in a trade this year or signing him next year, which I think Vladdy is better than Pete. But that's, that's a. Now you're hoping, right? Pete Alonso. I think it's the low ball offer of the year. 3 year, 70 mil, final offer because.
Covino
They knew he didn't have a lot of options. You know what? I thought that's kind of weak for a team who emptied their everything for Soto. Yeah, but they can't give their guy just a few just to make it right. They're taking advantage of the fact that he didn't have the options.
Bobby Bones
Can I tell you what does it say though? That no other team wanted Pete? I'm not saying that it means he has no value, but you're not a Little curious that Pete didn't get more offers.
Covino
It's not that, it's. I think all the slots are filled. Like we say all the time. There's only so many spaces but for a lumbering first baseman.
Bobby Bones
But with the market in the Yankees would score the market in baseball right now. You don't think Pete Alonso, someone will take them.
Covino
Dude, it's just not, it's not going to be anyone that matters on Toronto or something.
Bobby Bones
Usually my instinct on these contracts are pretty close.
Covino
Not Toronto, he'll end up somewhere.
Bobby Bones
No, Toronto's an option. Toronto and the Red Sox are two options. I think that I'm usually pretty accurate with the numbers like oh, that guy's a 10 or 20 million. Oh, they'll give that guy 30 or 40. When I tell you I thought the Mets were struggling because I thought Boris wanted like 40 mil a year and the Mets are like, no, we're going four years 120. When I heard three years 70 under 25 million a year. Think it's a little insulting to a home run champion.
Covino
At first I thought it was just the amount of years that they were scrambling over.
Bobby Bones
Then I was thinking maybe the 3 year 100 million just satisfy him that way. I don't know. But hey, your thoughts about Polar Bear Pete. And we hear from Dallas Goddard next right here, Kavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio.

It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
Bobby Bones
There was something sentimental when you. Like when you send it. It was like, dude, do I send the heart now?
Matt Castle
I don't like the color edition.
Bobby Bones
It's extremely pink.

I am here to call it as I see it, and there's a whole lot of things catching my eyes these days. Here's a clip from one of my favorite episodes. You are not a real fighter. You will never be discussed anywhere in boxing history, ever.
Bobby Bones
Fake Paul.
Michael Rapaport
The movie is the Apprentice and the movie is about young Donald Trump and his apprentice, Roy Cohen. Real character, obviously, both real characters. It kind of has a Scarface vibe to it, which I thought was very interesting. Listen to the I Am Rapaport Stereo podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast and wherever you get your podcast.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. All right. Cnr, Covino and Rich, your best buds that you never asked for.
Covino
Now we still have weekend hobnobbing this hour. I want to remind you of that weekend hobnobbing what you need to watch in the world of sports and entertainment. We do it every Friday, so you have things to hobnob about like Rich Davis in the hallways on Monday.

Perfect for instant contact with your friends. We use them here on the show go to rapid radios.com for up to 60% off and free shipping. Now, before we catch up with Dallas Goddard, let's take one quickie. I don't want to leave him holding. Andy in Mississippi. Pete Alonzo, Polar Bear Pete. Is he being disrespected? What's up, man?
Covino
I believe so. I've been a Met fan since the 80s.
Jon Stewart
We had the Jackson Mets AA team and I got to see Daryl Strawberry, Mookie Wilson, Hubie Brooks and all those guys.
Covino
And it was awesome.
Jon Stewart
But yeah, I hate that because he.
Bobby Bones
Just got the power and at times clutch.
Jon Stewart
But I did want to ask Rich something. What is the difference in cyber metrics.
Covino
And Saber metrics, which is what you referred to?
Bobby Bones
I don't even know. Did I say the wrong word? Did I say the wrong.
Covino
Just say you're doing it on purpose, like Coors Light.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I was doing on purpose. Light is refreshing. The workers in the office thought it was Sabre when they got bought out by Sabre.
Covino
Right.
Bobby Bones
Sabre Metrics. Sabre. I'll just call it that. Saber. Well, listen, that's a little baseball. Back to football divisional weekend, most exciting weekend in the NFL. And we got to catch up with star tight end Dallas Goddard a couple days ago. Little preview of this weekend and here's how it went down.
Covino
All right, it's Covino Enrich and his content is brought to you by otesla, a premolast. And our featured guest is a six foot five beast, Dallas Goddard, an actual Otesla patient who has been compensated for his time. Welcome, Dallas.
Justin Penik
What's going on?
J
How are you, man? I'm doing well, doing well. Glad to be here with you guys.
Bobby Bones
I was going say you got a big smile on your face. You should because you rumbled into the end zone. 24 yard touchdown. You were stiff arming. Take us through that play. And how does that feel, especially in the postseason?
J
Yeah, touchdowns always feel good. In the postseason. They feel even better. It's definitely up there for one of my favorite touchdowns in my career. But, you know, it was early in the third quarter. The offense has kind of been stalling out lately and it was time to make a play. It was a one score game and they brought a cover zero. Jalen made a check, got the balls in my hands quick and you know, I saw a cornerback and I never want to get tackled by a corner, so, you know, I lowered my shoulder on him, pushed him off me. He kept chasing me down and I just kept pushing him away. Got in the end zone. It was really cool. Because the entire stadium got super loud. All my teammates were hyping me up, and it was just a really good feeling. And like I said, getting in the end zone is always fun, but it's always even better in the playoffs.
Bobby Bones
Do you got that ball or what?
J
Yeah, I got that ball. You know, I. I decided this year I'm going to save all my touchdown balls. I'm going to save all more jerseys. You know, start stacking that memorabilia for sure.
Bobby Bones
When you in the future picture that touchdown run, do you picture it first person, or have you seen the highlight so many times now that you actually picture the highlight?
J
I'd say I actually picture the highlight even.
Bobby Bones
You lived it.
J
You know, I lived it. Everything happened so fast, you kind of just forget about it. And then you watch the replay obviously more times than you do it, because I only get to do it once and I've seen it so many times. It's. It's honestly like it's a third person. Wherever the camera was. That's my view that I see it in all this.
Bobby Bones
So funny. We always wonder that. Does the athlete remember the three pointer, the touchdown, knocking someone out, or do they picture the highlight? Yeah, highlight.
Covino
Yeah. I would imagine he sees it through his face mask and he's like, it.
J
Should be like that. They need to get little GoPros and.
Covino
Right.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
J
Oh, that's.
Covino
That's coming up. That'll be sick. Now you got the ball. You got in the end zone, but if you were Saquon Barkley late in the fourth quarter on his breakaway run, would you have taken a knee or gone the distance?
J
Oh, that. That's tough. You know, you always want to say you want to play the situations really smart, do the right thing. Happy that we got the first down and we're able to end the game, but if it was me running the ball, I think I would have taken it all the way to the one yard line and then taken a knee.
Bobby Bones
Get those yards right.
J
Touchdown. But I need all the yards I can get.
Bobby Bones
Yo. I even saw devonte Smith was like, why didn't he go? Were your. Were your teammates saying like, yo, Saquon, you should have just went, yeah, everybody.
J
Was saying that, but I think he understands. He's already got 2,000 yards on the year. He's been racking them up. So he's like, ah, I'll save my legs for next week.
Covino
I applaud that discipline, man. Yeah, that's tough.
Bobby Bones
After Jalen returned from the concussion, you guys, the passing attack hasn't been you know, I guess you would say fully in sync. What's your. What's your plan going into this game against the Rams?
J
We played the Rams earlier in the season. We were able to get the win. What I remember the most about them was how good their front was. They got two defensive ends that play really physical. They're really good. So that'll be our biggest challenge going against them is their fronts. But having last week growing, you know, it's been a long time since our offense played together this year between me, A.J. devonte and Saquon, I think we only played one game together, and that was the first game of the year and then this playoff game. So just getting us all back in, figuring out what's going to work, how we're going to attack the defense, what the defense is going to do to take away who they want to. And that all plays in a fact to it, but I'm really excited with where we're headed, and it's going to be a fun game on Sunday against the Rams.
Covino
Well, you sort of clobbered them last time. 37, 20. And you got to figure the Rams are going to make some adjustments this time. So how do you combat that?
J
It'll spend a lot of time in practice and meetings. The coaches are breaking down the film now. We'll look at it. We'll see things that they did against formations that we bring out, try to give them different looks, make sure they don't know what we're running. Just kind of tweak little things like that. But after you win that first playoff game, it gets really excited. Everybody just locks in a little bit more because, you know, each one you win, you get closer to the main goal. So I know the team's super excited and we're going to be ready going into it. It's going to be a tough matchup. The Rams are playing really good football at the right time, and so are we. So looking forward to a great matchup.
Covino
Yeah, the defense got a lot better since then.
Bobby Bones
Since then, they've put up some good numbers defensively. You guys almost 500 yards against those Rams. Last time. Saquon got to be licking his chops. That was the game against Rams where 255 and 200. So they're going to make adjustments, obviously.
J
Yeah, for sure. Obviously. Last time they played, Saquon broke the Eagles record. So that was a cool day for all of us, and we're not going to take that lightly. You know, the good thing about our offense is we can win in so many different ways if they want to load the box and take away Saquon. We got two star wide receivers on the outside and we have so many different ways to win. And we got a bunch of unselfish people on the team that whatever role they're asked to play in that game, they'll do. Whatever they decide to take away, they can take away. But we have so many weapons, other places that we can rely on.
Covino
Let me give you some advice, man. Just keep practicing that stiff arm in the mirror, you know? Yeah. And keep watching that highlight, man. Yeah, just keep doing it.
Bobby Bones
I was going to say fired up.
J
All week, I'll be ready to go.
Bobby Bones
Not only that, maybe read Inner Excellence said. Have you guys been busting A.J. brown's chops at all based on the whole reading the book thing? That's like the big story now.
J
We've joked around with him a little bit. Obviously we've seen him do it multiple times. He's done it when he's had really good games. He does it when he has bad games. It's just something that he does. We have a few people that have been contacting the author of the book. We're trying to get one for everybody on the team. And maybe next week you'll see all 48 of us on the sideline reading the book.
Bobby Bones
So, A.J. brown, book club.
Covino
I like it.
Bobby Bones
I gotta ask you, we're banged up a little bit this year, like everyone. I remember Emmett Smith once telling us, after week one, no one's 100% healthy. Was it important for you to get back in there? Week 18, just to tune up before the playoffs, Is that important?
J
Yeah, obviously. Getting back out there, knocking a few of the cobwebs off, see how my leg feels. You can't simulate the reaction that happens in games at practice. You can't simulate getting tackled in practice. So it was really cool to get back out there, catch the ball, see what it feels like to get tackled again, see kind of how my knee feels doing everything. And you know, it felt great. So it was just gave me a lot of confidence going into the playoffs.
Bobby Bones
I got to ask Eagles, they got those sweet throwbacks. What uniform do you like wearing the most? You like those, those old school, Randall Cunningham looking 80s throwbacks? Do you like the, the All Black? Do you like the road whites? Like what do you feel the coolest in?
J
Man, it's tough to beat the Kelly greens. It's something that you see, you know, Reggie White, so many different players had such great careers in them. So when they brought those back, that was, you know, a dream come true, being able to wear those for the first time. They always look super sweet and, you know, I definitely like them as an alternate. I don't think they should be our regular jerseys because the midnight greens are so cool too. They just look clean. And all the jerseys are great, but I would say my favorites are the Kelly greens and the all Blacks.
Bobby Bones
How do you not feel like a badass in that all black one?
J
Right.
Covino
Which one do you think you look the sexiest then?
J
You know, they always say black's a swimming color. I believe so. You know, that just kind of helps out my figure a little bit.
Covino
Now you've had a great season again, Covino and Rich here with Dallas Goddard, but Saquon Barkley had an incredible season too. Does he get your MVP vote?
J
I wish he would have played week 18 with me so we could have got the all time rushing record, but. But I'm definitely giving Saquon my MVP vote and him getting MVPs, you know, a true team award for us. So, you know, I know the O line would give him the vote too. And me being a tight end, I block for him here and there too, so he obviously did so many special things this year, things I've never seen on a football field. So he definitely gets my vote. And, you know, I'd be proud to tell my kids one day a block for him as well.
Covino
Nice.
Bobby Bones
You're one of many badass tight ends of the NFL. Are you pals with Kittle, Kelsey LaPorta? You friends with some of these other badass tight ends?
J
Oh, absolutely. You know, I think the tight end position has the coolest people in the NFL.
Bobby Bones
Agreed.
J
You know, I go to tight end University every year put on by Kittle, Travis Kelsey, and Greg Olson. So just try to learn ball, chop it up with them. And we just spend three days together all as tight ends and just have a great time with each other. And it's cool because everybody there has pretty much the same personality. They just want to have fun. They care about each other. And then once you meet all these people, it's cool because no matter who we play, I always know somebody on the other side of the ball that I can talk to after the game, pre game. We're trying to keep growing the tight end position and, you know, the more plays that we make, the. The better it is for all of us.
Bobby Bones
Well, you're fired up the divisional rounds. What do you do the night before? Are you. Do you have trouble sleeping or do you sleep like a baby? Like, what is the night before playoff game like for Dallas Goddard?
J
It's different. You know, I have no problem sleeping before a regular season game, but before the playoff games, your mind races a little bit. Your heart's beating a little bit faster a couple days before the game. But I just try to focus on my breath work, try to keep myself as calm as I can for as long as I can so I don't waste all my energy just thinking about it, being excited for it. But, yeah, I just sit in the hotel, do my breath work, and just try to relax. Maybe put on a good movie, something that can just keep me calm.
Bobby Bones
What movie you picking? Are you a rom com guy? Are you an action guy? What does Dallas Goddard watching to calm down?
J
Dude? It's a little bit of everything. A lot of the times it'll be one of Adam Sandler's movies. He's got so many great ones, and you can kind of get so many different whether you want a comedy. He's got some action sports one if you're feeling like that. So he's kind of got it all. So it's probably usually Adam Sandler flick.
Bobby Bones
You pumped about Happy Gilmore, too?
J
Oh, I can't wait for that. I'm. I'm super excited about that shout out. You know, Trav made that one, so. Yeah, can't wait for that one to come out.
Bobby Bones
Dude, a couple more stiff arms, you'll make the third one, bro. Hey, Dallas, we recently saw your Instagram post about your struggles with plaque psoriasis. Can you tell us about how that impacts your life as a football player?
J
Yeah. So plaque psoriasis is an autoimmune condition that makes my skin itchy and scaly daily. I've been dealing with it since I was a kid, and sometimes I just want to cover it up on and off the field so people won't see my plaques.
Bobby Bones
I'm assuming with all the football equipment and gear that's tricky for you, especially.
J
In the locker room and during summer conditioning when the rest of the team have their shirts off, I'm the one who's going to leave my shirt on, and then I'm uncomfortable because I'm hot and I'm itchy.
Covino
We also hear you finally found the treatment for your plaque psoriasis that fits your lifestyle. You're taking Otezla. Can you tell us about it?
J
I've tried lots of treatments, and I've been using different topicals over the years, but they were greasy and felt so uncomfortable. They were also tough to apply in those hard to reach places under my gear. I asked my doctor about other options and she told me that Otesla is a pill that might be a better fit for me.
Bobby Bones
How is Otezla different from other things you've tried before?
J
Topicals only treat the flaky, scaly plaques on my skin, but Otezla is a pill that works inside my body where plaque psoriasis begins. There's no mess and unlike topicals, I don't have to worry about getting all greasy under my gear or sweating it off while I'm playing. With Otezla, I can get clear skin after just four months and there's no more grease stains on my jersey.
Covino
Otezla is a prescription medicine used to treat adult patients with plaque psoriasis for whom phototherapy or systemic therapy is appropriate. Otezla can help you get clearer skin after just four months.
Bobby Bones
Don't use Otezla if you're allergic to it. Get medical help right away if you have trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or arms.
Covino
Severe diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, depression, suicidal thoughts or weight loss can happen. Tell your doctor if any of these occur and if you have a history of depression or suicidal thoughts.
J
Talking to my doctor about a pill was a total game changer.
Bobby Bones
Sure sounds like it. Dallas. Thanks for sharing your story and if any of you listening are dealing with plaque psoriasis, talk to your doctor to see if Otezla could be right for you. Visit otesla.com for more information or call 1-844-4-OTESLA for prescribing info, info about cost and more. Good luck this weekend. Divisional Round Congrats brother.
Covino
Thank you man.
Bobby Bones
Thank you Dallas Goddard. Thanks to our pals at Otesla and Dallas hopefully has a big game this weekend.
Covino
Nice guy. Nice catching up earlier this week with Dallas Goddard.
Bobby Bones
Hey, we're going to get into some weekend hobnobbing. What to watch in the world of sports and entertainment this weekend other than the divisional round of football. We'll get to that, but first monos with an update. What's up Mona?
Covino
Monsieur.
Monty
Great interview guys. Well done. Thanks buddy. Yeah Major League Baseball Guys, the the suspense is over. Even though we all knew what was happening. Japanese star 23 year old right handed pitcher Roki Sasaki announced on his Instagram that he is signing with the LA Dodgers. No details on the contract yet. NBA News Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler will make his return tonight against the Nuggets after serving that seven game suspension. He's expected to be in the starting lineup. 76ers star Joel Embiid, who missed last six games with a sprained foot, is now experiencing swelling in his left knee. So he's going to be reevaluated in seven to 10 days. This man has played 13 games this season. That is it. Dawn Staley will now be the highest paid college women's basketball coach in the history of the sport after her contract extension with South Carolina. That will keep her with the school until 2030 divisional round. You guys just mentioned it. Ravens wide receivers A. Flowers doubtful for that game against the Bills. Eagles wide receiver A.J. brown was removed from the injury report. He will play against the Rams. Lastly here, the Sun Belt Conference is fining League member Marshall $100,000 for opting out of the Independence Bowl. It's because they lost a lot of players. They lost their coach. They're being fined $100,000. Back to you guys.
Bobby Bones
Hey, Monty.
Monty
Jess.
Bobby Bones
Being a lost Doyers girl. Jess, you and Danny G. He's my other Dodgers girl.
J
That's right.
Justin Penik
What?
Bobby Bones
Give me. Give me your percentages for when a Japanese pitcher says I'm going to the Dodgers. Is it Los Angeles is representative like, what a beautiful weather place to live for someone out of the country, or is Ohtani's influence drastic?
Monty
I would be lying if I didn't think Ohtani's the big difference maker here. But being in la, they do say that the flight from Japan to LA is actually really easy. So they do really like LA for family and for traveling purposes.
Bobby Bones
Good. I heard east coast might have been off his radar because it's a significantly different.
Monty
Exactly like that is a real thing. Which is why the Mariners sometimes have been in conversations of possibly signing a Japanese player. It's just because the west coast is easier for them.
Bobby Bones
Quicker commute and the like you said the influence of a guy like Shohei.
Covino
Yeah, and he said he didn't want.
J
To go to Toronto because he's not down with Drake.
Bobby Bones
I heard that, too. I heard that, too.
Covino
All right.
Bobby Bones
Hey, we got more coming on Rich than Weekend Hobnob. And that's all next right here on Fox Sports Radio.

It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest, it was a little pink.
Bobby Bones
There was something sentimental when you, when you send it. It was like, do I send the heart?
Matt Castle
Now I don't like the color edition.
Bobby Bones
It's extremely pink.

You will never be discussed anywhere in boxing history, ever. Fake Paul the movie is the Apprentice and the movie is about young Donald Trump and his apprentice. Roy Cohen. Real character. Obviously both are real characters. It kind of has a Scarface vibe to it, which I thought was very interesting. Listen to the IM Rap Report Stereo podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast and wherever you get your podcast.
Bobby Bones
Today's Friday. Today's Friday. Bill Belichick saying UNC is the real deal. He's staying there. Huh? Speculation of him coming to the NFL. That's all nonsense.
J
I think I've already said that.
Covino
His college girlfriend probably told him it's cool to stay. It's probably best if you stay there.
Matt Castle
Don't you want to hang with coeds?
Bobby Bones
I just brought powder blue yoga pants.
Covino
My sorority sisters are all going to the games, so maybe you should stay. We're live from the Tirerack.com studio. J
That's my belly.
Covino
Your first pros pro the week goes to Dallas Goddard.
Bobby Bones
You know why it's a nice guy.
Covino
In a swell fella? Because he was nice to you. Yeah, he really was though honestly, when you do things like that, do these interviews sometimes athletes could be stiffs and he really was, he was very personable. Nice dude, six foot five, beastadon. And he had a pretty sweet, stiff arm. For real. And we'll be rooting for him this weekend. Him personally?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Covino
You know, when you grow older and when you work in his business especially, I can only speak for myself, I start rooting for people. Yeah, less teams, more people.
Bobby Bones
I mean I will always root for the Niners to crush anyone. But as we interview people over the years, there are certain players that stand out and then I the worst feeling is when you meet someone on your team and you don't like them and you're like oh, oh, oh, oh. Like Pukin. The Kua is my dude.
Covino
Like him?
Bobby Bones
We've interviewed him a few times and he's great. I'm a Niners fan. I Hope he catches zero catches against the 49ers, but other than that, I'm rooting for Pukin the Kuh. A really nice fella. All right, let's get into some weekend hobnobbit. Let's do it.
Covino
Live in for the weekend. You're winning bets for talking points if you get stuck socializing.
Bobby Bones
You ever done anything dangerous?
Jason Demers
You ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
J
That is dangerous.
Bobby Bones
Friday brings us weekend hobnobby.
Covino
All right, this is what you need to watch this weekend. Of course, you have your divisional round of playoffs and we'll be talking about it, but I'm going to watch every.
Bobby Bones
Baseball fan that's not a Dodgers fan figure out how the hell you could beat that team. Not only in the regular season, come the postseason, you're six starter. Could be another team's one or two.
Covino
Yeah, it's gross.
Bobby Bones
It's disgusting.
Covino
It really is.
Bobby Bones
And I hope they all get food poisoning in the playoffs. Thank you.
Covino
Gross weekend hobnobbing. So if you want to go to the theater. I saw Nosferatu. I liked it a lot. The whole monster movie genre is making a big time comeback. You know how like superheroes became a thing again? Well, guess what? Loch Ness Monster, Frankenstein, Dragon, Dracula. It's like the Renaissance about that come back of all these characters. So based on the popularity of the Invisible man, the critically acclaimed Wolfman's back. And it's back in theaters. And Rich, your girl Julia Garner is one of the stars from Ozark. Julia. Remember you thought it was Justin Timberlake, remember?
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's right. Yeah, she had Timberlake in sync here.
Covino
And Matilda Firth. Wolfman is out this weekend. I've enjoyed them so far, so I might check that out beyond SNL, if you ever watch Saturday Night Live. There's a four episode docu series starting this weekend celebrating their 50 years, but interviews from all sorts of cast members. Supposed to be great. That's obviously on Peacock beyond SNL and over promised. I hear that's pretty Good. Oh, episode three 76. That's our bonus show. It's on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. We play a game, name that playoff star. NFL edition star. Before they were stars. When they were kids. And we pay homage. We do a little tribute to fictional sports characters in honor of Harry Doyle, Bob Yuka. Rest in peace. Oh, and by the way, UFC 311 this weekend. Enjoy it.
Bobby Bones
I do a great Julia Garner impression. You want to hear it? Did you watch Ozark? Ready? Here we go. Marty. Marty. Marty.
Covino
Oh, my God.
Bobby Bones
Sounds just like her.
Covino
I thought it was her.
Bobby Bones
You know what I started watching last night because my wife fell asleep and I was like, I'm gonna start this without her. Forget her. I watched a little bit of Gabe Iglesias, his new stand up special, Fluffy. Legend of Fluffy. That's been around for a second.
Covino
Any good?
Bobby Bones
Check that out. You know, he keeps it very clean. There was a point where he definitely took a turn, like, I'm gonna be family friendly. He starts the show by saying, I've been doing this 27 years. So a lot of you saw me as a kid, and now you're seeing me as an adult with your kids. So Fluffy, we saw that. He's one of the top billing comedians. So he's doing well. The Jerry Springer documentary. I'm finally going to get around to it. But you know what I want to tell you guys about, because I don't even know if we've talked about this. The One who Lives, the Ones who Live. Walking Dead. Oh, yeah, we forgot that this show still went on. Rick. It's the one with Rick Grime. So, like, what happens to Rick? Remember when he got picked up? When the bridge blew up and everything? Did you even make it to that point?
Covino
No.
Bobby Bones
Well, anyway, Too much. Rick Grimes, the Walking Dead, the Ones who Live. It's the story of Rick Grimes where it picks up with him and he's in it.
Covino
Andrew Lincoln, of course.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Covino
What?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I watched episode one last night.
J
I know it's all about NFL playoffs.
Covino
This weekend, but Sunday night, the Lakers.
J
Visit the Intuit Dome against the Clippers for the very first time.
Covino
How many Laker fans will invade the Clippers new home?
Bobby Bones
Oh, it's gonna be all Lakers.
Covino
That's awesome.
Bobby Bones
All right, have a great weekend. Enjoy your football. Thank you, everybody.
Covino
Arriba.
Bobby Bones
Dare chi, baby.
Covino
See you in the promised land. Yeah.
