Rich Davis
They think Bon Jovi's more than halfway there by now.
Covino
He's definitely three fourths of the way there, I would imagine by now. So every Wednesday, the biggest stories in the world of sports and pop culture spots getting ready. Are they mid week or major? We decide. Plus, we're giving away prizes. Mike's Wednesday Words of wisdom. You got to pay close attention. We'll explain right now, broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Remember to calm the chaos with the shipping software that delivers code sports for a free trial@shipstation.com that shipstation.com code sports and we be rocking out. Let's go.
Rich Davis
Also, we be tuning in to Fox Sports Radio's Draft Night Draft Eve 1 Sleep, 8pm Eastern through the first round. We got Jay Glazer who just lost his father. Rest in peace. I saw that. Lavar Arrington, Joe Douglas and Jenny Taft gonna be going pick by pick all throughout the first round. That's tomorrow night, 8pm Eastern, Bartu by Shipstation. And you can watch a video because there'll be simulcasting on the fox Sports Radio YouTube page. Now I know Father Time is undefeated. Doesn't seem like that with LeBron, right?
Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
There are times you're like, how is this guy doing what he's doing? It's like Brady winning a Super bowl at the Bucs. Like, what's, what's happening, LeBron?
Covino
Well, 50s, the new 40, 40's new 30.
Rich Davis
Some guy that Father Time's catching up with.
Covino
Thursday's the new Friday, man. Weekend begins. Now.
Rich Davis
I hate to say it because, you know, we're all going to get old one day.
Covino
Nah, man, not me.
Rich Davis
I bring it up because I went, whoa, A rod just posted a really sweet clip of him and the Nature Boy Ric Flair. And Ric Flair is going through the limousine ride and Rolex wear and, like, his whole gimmick. And I could. I think he forgets it a little bit.
Danny G.
Rich, you missed the beginning of the Lakers game.
Rich Davis
You said they're at the Lakers game together.
Danny G.
Yeah, he spoke to the crowd to hype them up before the tip.
Covino
So, hey, it worked.
Danny G.
Yeah, it did, man. I'll bring him back for every remaining home playoff game.
Rich Davis
You got to love the Nature Boy, but, yeah, he's in front of a Laker sign with a rod they got to hang yesterday. And listen, he's wearing a slick suit. If you remember, we almost lost Ric Flair a couple of years ago. Remember, there was, like, a message like, yeah, he's on his deathbed. And then he's like, whoa, not yet. Like, and he's back. So. Hey, Ric Flair, Keep profiling and styling, buddy boy.
Covino
Now, Mike's Wednesday Words of wisdom. We're looking for callers to participate. You got to pay close attention to what he says because, man, he's a wise man. If you want your chance to win a swiggy, give us a call now. 87799 on Fox. 87799 on Fox for our stainless steel midnight black swiggy. You just have to pay close attention to what he says.
Rich Davis
Yeah. Mike's words of wisdom need to be repeated word for word by you. It's really not a difficult game. It's really. It's comprehension. Do you listen well? And can you restate what Mike said? Me, I'd be terrible at this game now. Someone says something, I forget what they said in the next.
Covino
Now wrapping up this Shannon Sharp stuff. It's a really crazy story. Gotta be careful with who you mess with. We'll take your phone calls on that next 87799 on Fox. But here are the words of wisdom. Sam, hit it.
Danny G.
It's time for the guy that runs this place.
Mike
Just for clarification, guys, Big Mike does not run this place. He is not in charge of everything. He has no power over really, anybody here. He does not run this place.
Danny G.
It's Big Mike's Words of Wisdom.
Spot
You really only need two tools in life. WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but it should WD40. If it does move, but shouldn't duct tape.
Rich Davis
Oh, that's a lot to remember.
Covino
That's a lot to remember. Getting a little more difficult, but great work.
Monique
I thought he was going to say Cavino and Rich, the two tools you need.
Rich Davis
By the way, I was saying great job on the Yaz flute. And Danny G bumped into some wind chimes on someone's front porch.
Covino
That was pretty cool. Yeah. So if you could recite that and repeat it word for word, you could win a Swiggy. 87799 on Fox. Be dialing now. That's Mike's Wednesday's words of wisdom. We're gonna take your phone calls next.
Danny G.
Sure you don't want to play just one more time?
Rich Davis
You know, it was a long one. I'll do one more.
Covino
It was a long one.
Rich Davis
Yeah. All right, we'll give him one more shot. I can't remember it already.
Spot
You really only need two tools in life. WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but it should. WD40. If it does move, but shouldn't. Duct tape.
Rich Davis
Guy's a genius. That's why he runs this place. It's why we love him.
Danny G.
Yeah, he actually doesn't run anything.
Covino
No, no, he does. He does.
Rich Davis
If you could. If you could repeat that.
Covino
So any other final thoughts, though, while we get your phone calls? Any final thoughts on Shannon Sharp? Yeah, sometimes people just need to learn from themselves. But when you look back, people have given you advice along the way. He should have listened to Monique. Her telling him to stay away from these young women has gone viral. You know, when I look back, advice. I should have listened to rich people early on in my radio career. I mean, I think things panned out the way they should, so I don't lose sleep over it. But they always say, dude, you got to move to another city. I ended up doing that later on in my life. We're here in LA. I've been here, what, 15 plus years now?
Rich Davis
Yeah, but not the way they meant.
Covino
But the way they meant. It was like, go to another city and hone your craft, and you got to go to another city. Looking back, I'm like, man, I probably should have done that. That would have been cool to be.
Rich Davis
You ended up here, the king of.
Covino
St. Louis, you know? But, yeah, it was advice I was often given, just never took. But I would give that advice to a younger person today. But people do what they want.
Rich Davis
Now, as far as Shannon Sharp goes, again, it's all alleged. You. You could believe Shannon. You could not. That's. That's not up for us to decide, like I said, but so Many men are. Are, you know, guided wrongly by their Johnson. It's. It's really problematic.
Covino
Guys, I think we all need to be a little better, Right? And just because you have some sort of freaky kink, as you put it, not every freaky request needs to be.
Rich Davis
Met with a random.
Covino
No, it just doesn't curb yourself.
Rich Davis
Control yourself a little bit with a random.
Covino
Yeah, but even still, no. Every freaky thought has to be met just because you're some weirdo. No, how about you have a little self control?
Monique
Remember that the next time you head to the vending machine.
Covino
That's how I feel about it even. I mean, look, yeah, consent makes everything better, but it doesn't mean that you have to act on it just because it crosses your stupid mind.
Rich Davis
If you like to rough it up in the bedroom, which a lot of people do.
Covino
Guess what, Rich? You don't have to do it. Control yourself.
Rich Davis
That's something you reserve.
Covino
Or how about you could just. How about you just control yourself?
Rich Davis
That's something you reserve for a wife, a girlfriend, a husband, a boyfriend, not someone. Listen, and my point is, it doesn't.
Covino
Mean you have to.
Rich Davis
Trevor Bauer did this with a girl that took photos of him selfies while he was sleeping. There's always a template of someone that effed up before you. And the other example is Deshaun Watson has all this trouble with massage girls, saying he was terrible. Right. Accusations.
Covino
That seems to be a problem with a few people.
Rich Davis
And then Justin Tucker, while this was going on, he was sort of doing the same thing. Allegedly.
Monique
He's not a Tucker.
Covino
You also got to learn from other people's mistakes because the story we're hearing now, allegedly, is very Trevor Bauer like. Right. And again, it's a developing story, but the point is he was given advice on his own show about a year ago and he didn't follow it, so. Advice you should have listened to. Think about it.
Monique
It seems like the psychology of these people in power is that they just. It becomes so easy for just what you and I consider, you know, exciting, that they need to go the step further to achieve that excitement.
Covino
That's because everybody's desensitized, because they're a bunch of perverts. It is.
Monique
And I. And I. I think that's why we see it more and more amongst people at this level.
Rich Davis
Yeah. But I'm also wanting to point out one thing that you seem to not grasp, Covino, is.
Covino
Tell me, tell me, why is Rich Davis. Because I'll still disagree with him.
Rich Davis
Play the music. Give me the YAS loots.
Covino
Oh, sorry. Yeah. Now tell me.
Rich Davis
Rich Davis must tell you, he who partakes in weird sexual activity with your wife, that's totally normal with a girl.
Covino
If you're 50, you gotta be so weird.
Rich Davis
Why you gotta judge people if they're both?
Covino
Because my point is, then it's okay. I'm not saying it's not okay, but every I am king shaming. Because every freaky thought you, you have and every freaky request has to be met. Or what?
Rich Davis
Or else you're sad.
Monique
Yeah. Oh, I'm not fulfilled.
Covino
Yeah, you're not feeling anymore. So how about you control your stupid thoughts a little bit?
Rich Davis
How about you just find the right person to shoot?
Covino
Because. No, because your wife or whoever it is, they're not gonna want to consent to everything. What's your limit? So how about you have a little self control too?
Rich Davis
What do you just lay there?
Covino
How about it's a balance? Why don't you have self control? Where do your limits end?
Rich Davis
I don't want self control.
Covino
Okay, where do your limits end then? Because if we're getting more desensitized because we have smut at our fingertips at every moment of the day.
Rich Davis
My point is, where does it end? If you want to do.
Covino
If you don't have any control, if.
Rich Davis
You want to do some freaky deaky, you can.
Covino
But again, have control.
Rich Davis
No, no. If you want to do some freaky deaky stuff, you know what? You do that with a person you trust, love and respect. And behind closed doors you get it on.
Covino
How about those doors? Get it out of your system and like straight.
Rich Davis
I got a little bit of rich audio at last break. I can't control my horny level.
Covino
Seriously, Just because you think it doesn't mean it has to come to fruition because it's your request.
Rich Davis
Yeah, it sort of does.
Covino
No, it doesn't. It does not. See, because that's odd pressure you're putting on your partner. And if they don't want to do it, then what? You're gonna sit there and say what? Something threatening like, well, if you don't do it, someone else will. So then what happens?
Monique
There's a lot.
Covino
Because they don't have to abide to every stupid thought.
Monique
You have relationships to end.
Covino
Because then guess what?
Monique
You're not.
Covino
Go find yourself a punching bag then. Because not everyone's going to do everything you want just because you thought it.
Rich Davis
But if you're into kinky stuff, finding a committed, trustworthy partner is a lot different than alleged and they have to.
Covino
Just abide by every request.
Monique
Kink is a legitimate lifestyle.
Covino
You guys sound. Why don't you wear leather underwear then, you weirdo.
Monique
Who says every.
Covino
You guys sound like a bunch of weirdos.
Rich Davis
You sound like a prude from 1930.
Covino
Because this is what got him in this mess in the first place.
Monique
Got a spring.
Rich Davis
Not every thought you have has to be fulfilled.
Monique
Nickel in his pocket.
Covino
It's called like, hey man, may I start recording? You get it out of your system, dude. Start thinking straight. Think like a normal person again. And especially do you and your girlfriend.
Rich Davis
Make a hole in the sheet? Is that what you do?
Covino
Especially with someone you're not married to or that you don't trust and that's why he's in hot water now.
Rich Davis
My point is, nothing wrong with kinky wild behavior.
Covino
And guess what, rich? Nothing wrong with self control.
Rich Davis
Look it up. But nothing wrong with kinky behavior if it's with your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend. I'm saying Shannon Sharpe, allegedly. It's a fool's move to be a 58 year old guy and trust a rando, 20 something. In these scenarios, whether you're into kink or not, that's poor decision making. Whether it's true or not, it just bad idea.
Covino
Yeah, I agree on that.
Rich Davis
If you were single, Covino, right. And some young 24 year old hottie was like covino do blank and blank to me, I'd be like, dude, I would not. Because how do you trust this person?
Covino
No, absolutely not. So I think Shannon Sharpe, and that's called self control. And no Shannon Sharp.
Rich Davis
Shannon Sharpe, guilty or not. Again, not for us to make that decision. But what I think he's guilty of is unfortunately not following Monique's advice, not following Monique's advice and not not following. Just the good advice in general of you're a man of note and celebrity and power, falling for younger hot booty and you.
Covino
And he should have listened to Bell Biv Devoe's advice years ago.
Rich Davis
Never trust a big button, a smile.
Covino
Never trust a big butt in a smile. That girl is poisoned. Allegedly. Either way, it got him in trouble. She could be the sweetest girl in the world. I don't know.
Rich Davis
Yeah, and he could be bad. We don't know.
Covino
We don't know.
Rich Davis
I'm just saying from my perspective, what we know so far, it just looks like a bad decision. All right now, Danny, you're watching. We're watching the same great show. If you watch your friends and neighbors with Jon Hamm on Apple tv Yeah, first two episodes. I mean, I don't want to give anything away, but the whole thing is based on, like, a bad decision where it's like, oh, man. Like, he did. It's made. You know, you make a bad decision that you think is like, I think that'll be okay, guys. Stop letting it control you.
Danny G.
But, Rich, the moral of that story, and that shows you can fix everything by becoming a burglar.
Rich Davis
That, you know.
Covino
Is that it?
Rich Davis
Yeah, that's great. Yeah, that's true.
Covino
Okay, so we prolonged it to make it even more difficult. If you could remember what Mike, who runs this place, said word for word, we're gonna give you a swiggy right now. And then if you have other thoughts about Shannon Sharp, we'll still take them.
Rich Davis
By the way, how tough to have to remember that, you know, someone gives you like a five digit code of a number and you're like, 4, 8, 9, 2, 5.
Covino
I can't remember someone's name after they just told me.
Danny G.
Yeah. When I answered the first studio line, I heard the guy reciting it to himself.
Covino
All right, great. So we prolonged. Who do we got, Danny?
Danny G.
All right, let's start in Sacramento in Samuel L. Johnson. If you can give me the. The wind chimes there. No, not that part. Yeah, the.
Covino
Sam's pressing buttons. Yeah, there we go.
Danny G.
Sam's trying to recite to himself how the game goes here. All right, Joe, in Sacramento, you get first shot at the swiggy here.
Covino
What up, Sacktown?
I
What's up, guys?
Rich Davis
Here we go, Joe, take it away. Mike's words of wisdom. What were they?
I
There are really only two.
Covino
Two tools you need in life.
Danny G.
WD what did he. Phone drop.
Mike
He already butchered it.
Monique
He started off.
Danny G.
He said. I'm not going to say what he. Yeah, he did jack it up.
Covino
Nice try.
Rich Davis
Hey, you can call back Pat in Jacksonville.
Monique
Guys are tough sticklers.
Danny G.
All right. Jacksonville, you there?
Spot
Yes, sir.
Danny G.
All right, hit us.
Covino
You only need two tools in life.
Danny G.
No, no, no. Sorry.
Rich Davis
We're going word for word, huh? It's gotta be.
Covino
There's a swiggy at stake. Come on, man, it's the swiggy.
Danny G.
Let's go to Meg in Montana.
Rich Davis
Now, I'm gonna be sexist here and say that she's gonna get it because women listen better. Meg, what you got?
I
You really only need two tools in life. WD40 and duct tape if it doesn't move, but should. WD40.
Danny G.
Oh, sorry.
Rich Davis
She got it.
Danny G.
She did not.
Monique
Look at the words.
Rich Davis
She was on her way.
Danny G.
We Are word for word. That's the rule.
Covino
Oh, you know what, Meg? She's sex, though. You did so good.
Danny G.
I love you in Montana. There.
Rich Davis
But yeah, even Meg even put out a little mic voice, too.
Covino
Meg, you gotta play again next week.
Monique
Pulled in.
Covino
That was great.
Danny G.
This is a tough one. You want to play it one last time? Going to break or.
Rich Davis
I want to give Meg one last chance.
Covino
Yeah, but she don't know where she went wrong.
Danny G.
Oh, I stopped her right after she missed a word. You want to try one more time? Montana.
Rich Davis
This is sticklers. I thought we were going to be a little more casual.
Covino
Let's try again.
Rich Davis
All right, Megan, Go ahead.
Danny G.
Go for it.
I
You really only need two tools in life. WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should move.
Danny G.
Nope, sorry.
Rich Davis
It doesn't move.
Danny G.
But blank. Yep.
Covino
Oh, that's what it is.
Danny G.
Blank.
Covino
There's a clue.
Rich Davis
When we stop you, there's.
Monique
You know, that's where you screwed up.
Rich Davis
So there's.
Covino
There's no winner this week. That's it, huh?
Danny G.
You want to give up or you want to play it one more time? Going into break.
Rich Davis
Give up. Are you thirsty for more?
Monique
You know what I want to hear? Meg read more.
Covino
Yeah, I know. Yeah. Can you read it a little slower?
Rich Davis
Meg should do audiobooks.
Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
Really?
Danny G.
Goodness.
Rich Davis
Keep it in your pants, Shannon. I mean, Kavino.
Covino

Rich Davis
Wait, what? That was it one word. I hate this game. This game stinks.
Covino
Hey, rules are rules.
Rich Davis
This game stinks. I'm protesting this game.
Danny G.
Hey, sometimes we don't get winners in the trivia games.
Covino
Exactly. Hey, guys, thanks for playing. But you know what? You'll get another chance next week.

You guys were close. You guys were close. So that's Mike's Wednesday words of wisdom again. We're Covino and Rich. And another reminder. I got two reminders.
Rich Davis
Hold on. Does everyone in this room have both of those things in their home?
Covino
Yeah, definitely.
Monique
I do.
Rich Davis

Monique
You mean your wife does?

Covino
I rolled a seven.
Rich Davis
Well, we are gonna have our big Vegas party, our Covino rich party, June 20th to the 22nd. So I'm trying to get all my bad rolls out of the way. So when we're there in Vegas, money, money, craps table money.
Danny G.
Good luck with that.
Rich Davis
Rich roll seven.
Covino
Oh, we tied.
Danny G.
Wow, look at us take a die.
Rich Davis
No, not seven out. It was first roll. So we win.
Covino
All right, so let's roll it out. Ready?
Monique
I've been hypersating for more time forever. How come Mike gets way more time than I do now?
Rich Davis
Camino gets one and I get.
Covino
Oh, my God, we're tied again.
Danny G.
Okay, stop it.
Rich Davis
All right.
Covino
No, no, we tied again. You know what?
Monique
Let's just go in order of the show. Covino, you're first one.
Rich Davis
I got two.
Covino
All right, beat me. Rich goes first.
Danny G.
Rich gets first take. And now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides Judy Bloom, up to seven minutes. From Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Spotty Boy, you have eight minutes.
Rich Davis
Eight minutes.
Covino
Eight minute man.
Monique
As we know, Shaq, the king of endorsements from car. What does he do?
Rich Davis
Car insurance, General.
Monique
General Fast food restaurants. Well, might be Mama John's might be able to add some. Oh, yeah, the Shackaroni might be able to add some adult diapers into the mix. After his emergency, his bathroom emergency during Inside the NBA on Monday, he already jetted off set to use the bathroom. Several brands have since reached out, hoping to support Shaq in his time of need. North Shore Care, who produces adult diapers, is looking to send Shaq a support pack of their go supreme, extra large and depend. Depend or depends, whatever it is. Also wants to send Shaq some products suggesting their real fit underwear. So he won't even know he's wearing them on set. I don't know if you saw last night they actually wheeled out a Porta John for him to use. Just having fun with it midweek or major.
Rich Davis
I think it's major in the fact that everyone's having fun with it. And you know, Shaq, great at taking a joke. Chuck. And everyone chimed in. I love how they're like, yeah, it's all that olive oil he's been drinking. You know, I guess we're all trying. It just proves we're all trying different dumb diets to try to stay slim. So Shaq is actually drinking oils and stuff. That to me is funny to begin with. But yeah, I mean, a great opportunity for. Depends on all these diaper companies to get in on a little promo, right?
Covino
Absolutely. And it goes to show you, again, I agree, major. The power of endorsement that Shaquille O'Neal has. You mentioned all these things he endorses. People want to jump at that opportunity because he's such a great pitch man. And as funny as it sounds, it does normalize a problem for certain people. And some people. And hey, they must make extra large diapers for this dude. Good for him. I think it's a major story. It's just funny. They're having fun with it and it's. It is. It is something that people need.
Rich Davis
I mean. Yeah, not check, though. I mean, he had one. One little. Oh, we gotta go. I don't know. Did they send Colin Cowherd diapers when he had that one incident? I mean, come on. Oh, let's go. All right, everyone's got a moment. You don't think I've ever run out of studio mid show like, yo, Camino, cover for the next few. Come on.
Monique
Camino just does it in studio.
Danny G.
Okay.
Rich Davis
And hopes that.
Covino
All right.
Monique
Patrick Mahomes addressing his his new short haired look ahead of the draft. Mahomes was asked about the haircut that he got in between there at the end of last season. And he discussed how superstition is actually what made him keep the signature salad on top of his head. He said he's been wanting to cut his hair for a while, but they kept winning Super Bowls and he didn't want to ruin it. He didn't want to jinx it. So he told his teammates during last season, he says if they win three in a row or if they lose, he's getting a haircut. So he was planning to do it anyway. He even said he was looking at videos from last season. He's like, how did you guys let me walk around with this hair? So he acknowledged how ridiculous he looked. He says he looks way better now with the shortcut.
Rich Davis
Midweek, major new hair. Don't care. Mid.
Covino
That's so mid.
Rich Davis
Quarterback gets a haircut and I'm supposed to care?
Covino
I mean, I actually think it's major. Anything you're doing with a haircut is a major decision. And for me and for Patrick Mahomes, he's a superstar. So what he does Is important. And I think it's time for him to move on because I feel like he started a lot of that burst fade trend and the broccoli head became a thing and he's showing, look, I'm a little more mature than I am above that now. And it goes to show you the importance of superstition in sports. He held onto that hairdo just for that. That's amazing. So I'm glad he's moving on. That's alpaca. That's $25,000 alpaca.
Rich Davis
I. I know I'm put you on the spot with this, but Jennifer Aniston was always known as a female that influenced women's haircuts.
Monique
Yeah, the Rachel.
Rich Davis
Is there another. I'm trying to think if there's another athlete or someone we know that their cut has influenced.
Covino
They tried to credit Kelsey with the fade cut, but fades have been around for a long ass time.
Monique
So in the late 90s, early 2000s.
Rich Davis
Whenever Gladiator came out, all these guys were doing the Gladiator. It was like, guys, Caesar haircut, kind of receding hairlines.
Monique
We kind of comb it forward and.
Rich Davis
Get that hairline fully pushed down. And I was like, Russell Crowe kind of influenced that. So anyone else?
Monique
What about Howie Long? Howie Long.
Danny G.
We talked about Anthony Mason of the Knicks the other day. People started carving in words and things to their dome the way he did.
Monique
Without a doubt, he's not an athlete, but he is a sports broadcaster. Rich, you always ask for the mad Dog.
Rich Davis
Mad Dog. Russo, give me the mad Dog.
Covino
That's long on the sides, right?
Rich Davis
What's up? Dan Beyer, the boss. The boss?
Mike
Yeah, the boss.
Rich Davis
And I'll steal a Camino joke from back in the day. Does Howie Long ask for the Hulk Hogan or does Hulk Hogan ask for the Howie Long? We'll never know.
Covino
Is this Howie Long? No, not the Hulk Hogan. Howie Law.
Rich Davis
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Terry Bradshaw.
Covino
Terry Bradshaw.
Rich Davis
Bradshaw.
Covino
You just saw flat tops. You brought up Howie Long.
Rich Davis
I know.
Covino
Yeah. Terry Long asked for the Bosworth. Is this Bosworth?
Rich Davis
It's a skullet.
Covino
Yeah. So that I think is major cuz a lot of people jumped on what Mahomes did. He was a trendsetter.
Rich Davis
Well, if you see like a Bobby Witt Jr. Who's got some fl. Like, you know, he's got some salad. Do you think young kids are doing that Mullet? Of course they are.
Covino
Definitely.
Monique
The athletic has conducted their annual anonymous NBA player poll and a lot of stats coming out of that. So the most league's most overrated player. Tyrese Halliburton, named his most overrated player. He actually has responded to that, saying that he doesn't care about what anybody thinks. Other revelations from the poll. Wemby voted most likely to be the next face of the league, earning 54.3% of the votes. Kate Cunningham voted most underrated. Warriors voted the best organization. Hornets, the worst. And let's see. Oh, a majority of the players actually spoke about the Luca trade, saying they were just as shocked as the fans, saying it was the worst move in the history of the NBA. So a lot of stats online if you want to check on that midweek or major.
Covino
Now, this is based on players.
Danny G.
Players.
Rich Davis
This is a player poll.
Monique
Anonymous player poll.
Rich Davis
I. I think anonymous. Now, there have been coaches and people that have come out today saying, I put no stock in anonymous polls. Bs. But I think that's when you're gonna get some honesty.
Monique
Yeah.
Rich Davis
And I think. You know who I think should be the most happy? Whose vote is most underrated?
Monique
It was Cade Cunningham.
Rich Davis
Kate Cunningham. That's a guy now that's thinking, you know, my peers respect me. And even though Halliburton saying, like, yeah, whatever, there's got to be a part of him. Imagine if at Fox Sports Radio there was an anonymous vote, and it's like, overrated. It was like, Steve Covino. You. You'd hate that.
Covino
I mean, clearly, it would be you that was right. Who would get. Who said this.
Monique
We all know Dan Byer is a Cavino guy.
Covino
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Most underrated. Dan Beyer, man. So I completely agree with Rich. This is major. I think anonymous votes hold more weight. There's more honesty, more truth. And future face of the league. I would say that's. That's Luca. Luca. I don't know, man. What about. You know, Luca's only 26 years old.
Rich Davis
Webby's, like, in diapers, but not the exact type like the other.
Covino
So anyway, yeah, I think it holds a lot of weight, and I think when you get the nod or the opposite of that from your peers and says a lot.
Rich Davis
No doubt.
Covino
So major.
Monique
All right, I'll squeeze it a little. Sorry. NFL draft story, since it's tomorrow. So what, like, just over 25 hours away. Cam Ward, of course, expected to be the number one pick most likely going to the Titans. Well, the number one pick who actually wears number one in college might not be able to keep his number, and that's because the legendary Warren Moon holds that number. His number was retired in 2006. Of course, he was an Oiler before they moved to Tennessee in 1999. But they actually asked Moon about it, and he says that he's thinking about it, but no decision has been made. And of course, they've unretired players, unretired numbers in the past, so we'll see if he gets to keep it. But Ward has actually said if he has to change his number, he's okay with it.
Rich Davis
Midweek or major, I think this is weak sauce. And was it weak? Warren Moon, one of the greatest. Actually, I think one of the most underrated NFL quarterbacks because back then, black quarterbacks weren't respected. He lost a lot of great years in the NFL. But I think Kavino and I are on the same page in saying that was the Oilers. This is the Tennessee Titans. While they did move, I think Cam Ward should wear number one, and I think.
Covino
Get the hell out of here. I don't agree with that at all. I think you honor the legend. You can't say he's a legend and give his number away. He's a guy that's in the hall of Fame for. In the Canadian Football League and the NFL.
Rich Davis
He never played.
Covino
It doesn't matter.
Rich Davis
He never played in Tennessee.
Covino
Guess what? Ken Ward never played in the NFL. He could wear another number.
Rich Davis
He never played in Tennessee.
Covino
Doesn't matter. Houston, I think you leave Moon's number alone. He's number one. Leave it alone. He's a retired hall of Famer. You respect that.
Rich Davis
What was I thinking? I thought you were gonna make sense.
Covino
No, sorry.
Monique
I mean, they don't. They don't even have numbers left on the Yankees.
Covino
I think. I think it's major to even suggest that he should give up his number.
Rich Davis
Well, you know what? I agree to disagree. All right, let's go to damn buyer for an update. Thank you, Spotty boy.
Covino
Thanks, db.
Rich Davis
Are you the Covino guy in this one, or do you think Cam Ward should wear number one? Because the Oilers and the Titans while the same franchise, they're not the same team.
Mike
I am 100% in the Cavino camper here. It sticks it to the Titans, who continue to hold on to the past of the Oilers, they won't give it back to Houston. If they did, then we wouldn't have this problem. But because the Titans are so greedy in trying to keep their history, that doesn't belong to them. It belongs to the people of Houston and the surrounding area. They should. They should have to deal with that.
Rich Davis
They should forfeit the Houston Oilers like legacy legacy to maybe the Texans.
Mike
Yes, absolutely, 100%. And I think that's where it would be honored. It's, it's, it's just the way that it works. Sorry, I know it's weird, but it's weird when they bring out St. Louis Rams at Rams games here in LA.
Rich Davis
Agreed.
Mike
Here's Tori Holt. Like there's no connection to Tory Holt. So anyway, there's no connection to Jason Tatum. And playing tonight. Celtics forward ruled out will not play against the Magic Coming up at the top of the hour because of wrist injury. Some other NBA news. NBA insider Mark Stein says the Phoenix Suns have a strong interest in possibly bringing in former Warriors GM Bob Myers to their front office. Kings GM Scott Perry says they'll know in the next week or so on if they will bring back interim head coach Doug Christie while Rutgers freshman Ace Bailey is entering the NBA draft. For over 40 years, Tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive ship fast and free. Lions and Chargers to play in the hall of Fame game in Canton on Thursday, July 31. Mets scored twice in the 10th to sweep the Phillies for three and 10 innings, New York's one seven straight while the Phils have dropped four in a row. Reds finally won in Miami 52 Braves best the Cardinals 4 1. Kivino's yanks one in Cleveland 51 against the Guardians in Detroit. Blank. The Padres 6 nothing and one final. Baseball though Dodgers are shutting down pitcher Blake Snell for a while after he felt discomfort in his throwing shoulder during a game of catch yesterday. Guys, back to you.
Rich Davis
Thank you, Dan Beyer. Now coming up, before we get out of here, I do want to talk Derek Carr. Thank you for mentioning Derek Carr. Damn buyer. I mean we need some clarity. We're a day before the NFL draft. What's going on with Derek Carr, the Saints? Is Aaron Rodgers going to really remember we said two weeks ago? What did you say two weeks ago? There's no way he doesn't make a decision before the NFL draft and we are 25 hours away.
Covino
It's NFL draft eve and we still don't know.
Rich Davis
And Aaron Rodgers is still I saw an article about it him needing to be wooed in romance like he doesn't want to just take a job. He wants them to like want him more.
Covino
So I want you to want me.
Rich Davis
So we'll get into some quarterback NFL stuff next right here. Kavit on Rich on Fox Sports Radio.
Covino

Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
I let you talk about Aaron Judge all you want, so.
Covino
What do you mean, you let me. What does that mean?
Rich Davis
No, meaning like I.
Covino
You mean you let me talk about Aaron Judge.
Rich Davis
I don't roll my eyes.
Covino
The guy that talks about the 49ers and Mets to anybody who would listen. You let me talk about Aaron Judge. Give me a break.
Rich Davis
Yeah, but on the show, I try to mix it up to other teams.
Covino
Oh, yeah, you try real hard. You talk about the Mets.
Danny G.
You.
Covino
You finagle the Mets into every possible conversation. I'm talking. I'm talking about nachos, and you bring up the Mets in every conversation.
Rich Davis
Give me a break to the videotape like you're damn wonderwolf.
Monique
Guys, what's the last time you mentioned, like, I don't know any other team?
Rich Davis
Exactly. That's my point. My point is, if I'm like, I'll.
Covino
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. This guy talks nothing but 49ers a mess.
Monique
When's the last time you talked about, I don't know, like the Rockies or the guys, the Mariners. I heard you mentioned any other team besides the Mets.
Rich Davis
I'll talk about the Rockies. My son who's on the T ball. Rockies beat the real Rockies. I was on the T bowl.
Covino
Rockies.
Rich Davis
They might. We won a championship. They might beat the real Rockies, who are God awful in Major league Baseball.
Covino
I'll talk about the Rockies. Rocky 5 is the worst. Even though it's not that bad, it's still the worst. Now you mentioned Derek Carr. We got to talk about Derek Carr.
Rich Davis
Yeah, but I was going to say underrated. You said it all off season and I agreed. I was one of the people that said, why are the Mets dragging their feet on Pete Alonso. Do you think every other team in baseball now is saying like, man, we could have got him for like a pretty decent deal.
Covino
Blew it.
Rich Davis
No one wanted Pete. Alonzo blew it.
Covino
Guys, good player, man. He's second to judge and everything, but only by a little bit. Yeah, he's so great and underrated. Absolutely, completely agree with you.
Rich Davis
And yeah, the heart and soul of that team right now it seems anyway, Derek Carr tomorrow. Danny G. You when he was on the Raiders, you had like a love affair with him. Like a minute you loved him, then you're like, I don't know, die.
Danny G.
I, you know, I was dating him in 2016, I guess you'd say not a love affair. He had a great season. He came in as a great rookie. 2016, he was one of the top QBs in the league. Never was the same after.
Covino
He's broke. He's broke.
Danny G.
Never the same.
Rich Davis
Do you think New Orleans needs to officially take tomorrow as the opportunity like to get their next guy is Derek Carr. Is that a dead end?
Covino
It's broke.
Spot
It's broke.
Rich Davis
Is it broke even in New Orleans?
Danny G.
Yeah. New Orleans is going to look for a young quarterback man, Aaron Rodgers also.
Rich Davis
I know that you hate talking about him, Danny, but we all, I would have bet as like a guy like Mad Dog Russo would say Dallas to donuts.
Danny G.
I don't hate. I don't hate. You talk about him. I just think he sucks the oxygen out of the room and you take the bait like he wants you to spend a half hour of our two hours on him.
Rich Davis
I could see that. But I am shocked though. I would have bet a significant amount of money that Aaron Rodgers would have had an answer of what's going on before the draft because now you leave Pittsburgh in a weird scenario that unless him and Tom want to have in secret backdoor conversations about like, hey, oh, here's what we're really going to do. You're putting the NFL in a weird spot which might lead to my prediction. And I'm not the guy that says I told you so, but you remember we talked about Aaron Rodgers months ago and I said I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't sign with a team and then he's some team's mid year savior. I said there's going to be a team that has an injured quarterback. Maybe that's the best path for Rogers where he says I'm good for now and then maybe in November a top level team loses a QB and incomes Aaron Rodgers to save the day.
Covino
Well, all the, all these things and all these potential moves implicate or have implications on the draft tomorrow. Because I'm hearing even like, Cousins, maybe from the Falcons to the Vikings, like we're going to see.
Danny G.
Hey, our boy Fitz predicted on our network that he thinks Roger's going to make an announcement tomorrow to steal the thunder from the draft.
Rich Davis
Would do that.
Covino
No, no, no. Yeah. Like all these things and all these moves could be a major implication on what happens.
Rich Davis
That would be fantastic. Imagine Aaron Rodgers as the draft's about to start. Poor Cam Ward's about to hold up his jersey and it's like, wait, wait. Breaking news. Aaron Rodgers signs a deal.
Covino
It's not impossible.
Rich Davis
That would be great. I will see you guys tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday night. Enjoy your NBA playoffs until tomorrow, Reba. Dare she, baby.
Covino
See you in the promised land. Goodbye, guys.
