Brady Quinn
You're listening to Fox sports radio. It's the herd. Fox sports Radio.
Dallas Goddard
Jonas's crib smells like Levar Arrington.
Brady Quinn
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for Colin final hour of the program here, we'll take you all the way up until 3 Eastern Time, noon Pacific. What's that supposed to mean?
Dallas Goddard
What are you talking about?
Brady Quinn
I showered. I'm good.
Dallas Goddard
I don't know, man.
Brady Quinn
What do you mean?
Dallas Goddard
I don't know, bro? I mean, your pores are. Are pushing out Chipotle, man.
Brady Quinn
Damn.
Jonas Knox
Really?
Dallas Goddard
You know how. You know how that after smell of chipotle is? That's what Jonas smells like right now?
Jonas Knox
Say it one more time. How are you saying it?
Dallas Goddard
Chipotle. How you say it?
Brady Quinn
Chipotle.
Jonas Knox
Chipotle.
Dallas Goddard
How'd I say it? Chipotle.
Brady Quinn
Chipotle.
Jonas Knox
Honestly, like the way you said. I didn't even understand what we're talking about for a second.
Dallas Goddard
It's the way Jonas smells right now. It's like his underarms, his armpit smells like old Chipotle.
Brady Quinn
That's a lie.
Jonas Knox
Being honest, I mean, you could see how, you know.
Dallas Goddard
Go ahead.
Colin Cowherd
How what?
Dallas Goddard
Go what?
Jonas Knox
How that could be the case.
Brady Quinn
How what?
Jonas Knox
You tend to eat a lot of Mexican food.
Brady Quinn
That's not true.
Jonas Knox
It's not true?
Brady Quinn
No.
Jonas Knox
Are we sure?
Dallas Goddard
The seasoning, you know, that's all just the seasoning on the peppers that you eat.
Brady Quinn
Trust me, I haven't had Mexican food in a long time.
Jonas Knox
You've told me you eat a ton of Mexican food.
Brady Quinn
Try to. Oh, try to not actually.
Dallas Goddard
Maybe you absorb it.
Brady Quinn
Maybe. Yeah, maybe. Maybe there's that. So that's unfortunate. But listen, you know, if it smelled.
Dallas Goddard
Like new chipotle, it would be good. But it smells.
Jonas Knox
Can we try something? Can we have Tui or Lee come in and actually smell you? Jonas, that's fine.
Brady Quinn
Come get away.
Dallas Goddard
You're in here.
Greg Tuohy
I smell Something, but I don't exactly know what it is.
Dallas Goddard
It's like, kind of smells like old Mexican food.
Jonas Knox
It's called the essence.
Dallas Goddard
Oh.
Greg Tuohy
It's not that. It's like a bo.
Brady Quinn
It's called cereal for men.
Jonas Knox
It's the essence of Jonas.
Dallas Goddard
Cereal for men.
Brady Quinn
Oh, man. It's muy bonito. Oh. All right. So we are. We are here. Just looking back, what a wild weekend it was.
Dallas Goddard
I don't see any Mexican in the. In the trash can, so it's not Mexican food. All right, so tui might be on to something.
Brady Quinn
Yeah. Okay.
Dallas Goddard
Well, who knows, G money? Okay, what we got, man?
Brady Quinn
What we got is your guy, Micah Parsons, for starters.
Dallas Goddard
Okay.
Brady Quinn
Micah Parsons is having more commentary in the off season. You know, it is great, though, that the Cowboys will never win in the regular season, but the off season, they dominate. They've got to be like 14 straight Super bowl championships in the off season at this point for the Dallas Cowboys. But Micah Parsons says that there's definitely a plan in place for his contract. We were talking a little bit about this yesterday. And Brady, your thoughts on this? We kind of surmise that maybe Micah Parsons just looks around and goes, no, I'm never going to win here, so effort.
Dallas Goddard
Better pay me.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, can I just get paid. Better pay me. You know, it's not happening.
Jonas Knox
Look, there's a lot of advantages of playing on a team of the star in your helmet. Okay. The first is it's one of the biggest brands. So off the field, you're one of the most recognizable figures. Even if your team's not winning. I mean, you're getting commercials, you're still getting endorsements. So there's. There's a lot of that. I think the other thing is, after your career, I mean, how many guys have won that star on their helmet and have gone on to become broadcasters? I mean, we obviously know Troy Aikman, Daryl Johnston. I mean, Evan Smith kind of had his moment, if you want to count him as the Dallas Cowboy. You know, there's been others obviously as well. I mean, I'm not sure how you. How you look at prime. Prime, obviously Falcons, San Francisco, Dallas.
Dallas Goddard
But he definitely blew up to a whole nother space. And when he went to Dallas, 100%. Yeah, but.
Jonas Knox
But again, there's. There's going to be TV potentially there for him when he's all said and done. It just. It seems to find its way to a lot of Dallas Cowboys or former Dallas Cowboys. So. And look, there's no standing up tax, so there's there's that. You got that going for you for at least eight or nine games now. Maybe it's, you know, eight games, you know, for sure in the future, you know, as. Excuse me, maybe, you know, nine games for sure in the future as we, as we go to 18 games.
Dallas Goddard
So I just know this. That man said there needed to be a call to action. I think the call to action is you got to get somebody in there who is going to build a winning culture, create a winning culture. And I do not think it comes by coaches higher. I think it has to start with how the ownership is viewing the decision maker that we, we just mentioned earlier. One of the most powerful dudes in the building is going to be your gm. I think it starts with a better GM and a GM that's going to come in and embrace a culture that is, you know, connected to whatever that personality is going to be to win. It could be finesse, it could be hard nose. It could be whatever it is, whatever it is they're going to bring in, bring that in. But I think when you say a. A drastic call to, to action, I think that Jerry Jones has to take a look at the fact that he's not going to remove himself from, from any. Anything that he's already doing. But you could remove your son, and that doesn't mean you have to fire him completely. Just move him to a different, you know, have him have a different distinction within the organization. I don't think that there's any problem with that. Hire a GM that's going to come in and do the job that needs to be done. If that's not done, if you're not taking that drastic of a measure to make sure that this team is going in the right direction, personnel wise, then you have to believe that if I'm Micah Parsons, knowing that there's a strong chance that this is how seasons are going to play out for you, for your best seasons, your best years ahead of you, you got to get your money. You got to get as much out of this situation as you possibly can. From a personal standpoint, if you're facing the same results that you've been getting since you got drafted by the team.
Brady Quinn
Their best chance to win a Super bowl is 2016, and that's a decade ago. So I just. I think we are.
Dallas Goddard
He wasn't there.
Brady Quinn
No, but that was Dax rookie year, Zeke's rookie year. I think they were second in super bowl odds going into the playoffs, and then they lost that opener in the divisional round after the bye against Green Bay. And it just, I look back at that and I go, oh, that was their shot. Because, you know, their other appearances, maybe they'd pick up a win, but it was just bad losses. Not to mention the final loss against Green Bay year before this past playoffs in which Jerry Jones looked shocked and people were kind of surprised Mike McCarthy was back. I just don't know what they've done as an organization that you would look at if you're Micah Parsons and go, oh yeah, no, no, we've got this all figured out. Like, I think he's questioning out loud, what are we doing? Like Joe Burrow questions, hey, are we going to be able to maintain and retain some of these guys? But they went to a Super bowl, almost won a Super Bowl. Dallas isn't close and they feel way behind where Philly is, where Washington is. You know, if the Giants land a quarterback and there's some speculation, you know, would the, would the Giants, you know, be interested in a guy like a Cam Ward who basically gave everybody a shout out and said if you pass on me, you're going to regret, quote, if you're going to draft me or not? He said while receiving the Davey O'Brien Award, if you don't draft me, that's your fault. You've got to remember you're the same team that's got to play me for the rest of my career and I'll remember that. If the Giants land a quarterback and they've got talent there, all of a sudden now this division that felt like it was Dallas's for the taking all these years, they look like the bottom feeder as far as a plan for the future goes, if the Giants can land a quarterback because I don't question Washington anymore or Phil all ever again. Dallas just feels like a fiasco and Michael Parsons knows it.
Dallas Goddard
You want to Q. I'll, this is what I'll say to that. Washington took a very, very large step definitively in the right direction, 100%. And it looks as though they have a quarterback in Jaden Daniels who is going to make them a legitimate contender for years to come. You can look at the Philadelphia Eagles even though Pete Prisco isn't a big fan of Jalen Hurts and I made this point on two pros and cup of Joe that you could catch. By the way, when we're on our normal time from 6 to 9am what up var 33 to 6 on on Pacific time. But I, I said that this could become the arch nemesis Jalen Hurts could become the arch nemesis To Patrick Mahomes, I think that exists. There's, there's something there with that. And whether he gets the stat lines that people are happy about and want to see or not, there is something to being a winner that to me outweighs other things. That's the stat that matters the most, is that the team you're leading is winning. So when I look at the Eagles, the Eagles have a ton of talent, young talent, they're pretty much staying intact. The Washington commanders, they, they went in the right direction. Good management, good leadership, they fixed the culture, they're going in the right direction. I do not think that the Giants are poorly ran team. I just think that they have had a hard time with finding a quarterback after post. Eli Manning, I think that that's a challenge. But if they were, as you mentioned, with Cam Ward, or if they could find a quarterback in free agency or in the draft, if they get a quarterback like a transformational quarterback, what took place in Washington, they have players, they have a defense, they have a pass rush, they have players, they got neighbors on, on the offense side of the ball. New York is a player away or so from being a totally different team. And I probably think that that's why they kept the coach. And, and so when you look at Dallas, Dallas is the one team that you asked yourself the question, can Brian Schottenheimer come in and be a better coach than Mike McCarthy? I think that's a ginormous question mark. Can this team, personnel wise, take a step forward, a definitive major step forward in being a competitive team just in their division? I think that's another major question for them. And I don't think that that gets answered this off season. I just, I, I mean, maybe I'm wrong for that.
Brady Quinn
Don't you guys also think that the Giants have something to prove this off season? Like they got clowned last year?
Dallas Goddard
Well, you gave away your, your franchise player based upon saying because we think Daniel Jones is our franchise player and then you get rid of him before the season. They look so now you don't have either one of them.
Brady Quinn
They look inept. And so I wonder if there's like an ownership to where they're like, you better fix this because we let that guy walk. I wasn't a fan of it, but I trusted you guys. And he went on to rush for over 2,000 yards and just won a Super bowl in our division. So it feels like the Giants would have like this off season, you would expect the Giants to get really aggressive or to make a splash Move to try and fix the quarterback position and try and see if they can close the gap. And if that's the case, you know, again, Dallas is just looking up at everybody else going, all right, well, we're just going to try and run this back because, you know, we assume that maybe it's a new coach if Dak can stay healthy. It just feels like there's a lot of ifs with Dallas as there usually is.
Dallas Goddard
I mean, a lot of questions.
Jonas Knox
I feel like we're only talking about Dallas right now because it's. We're on the Herd, so we feel like we have to mention.
Brady Quinn
But yeah, I didn't make the rundown.
Jonas Knox
I'm just going to call it. I see it. You know, we had another topic on there. You just decided not to go there.
Brady Quinn
Oh, Cam Ward. It was discussed. Not really. Yeah, I mean, the comments were discussed.
Dallas Goddard
Talk about it. Let's talk about it. Pass up on Cam Ward. Let's talk about it. How you feel about that? Is Cam Ward the best quarterback in this year's draft?
Jonas Knox
I think he's got really good tape. I mean, him and Shador kind of right there. They're like 1A, 1B. Look, it never bothers me when you hear players say this sort of thing. You know, if they didn't say this sort of thing, you know, they're thinking it, right? They. They want to try to prove it. Just it's, it's. They're not always going to be the guy that ends up being able to prove everyone wrong. You know, there's really only a few people who've been able to do that, like the Tom Brady's of the world, the Patrick Mahomes, you know, maybe a select other few, you could say, have kind of had their prove it moment. But the reality is he's arguably the best in this draft class. I think him and Shador will go off early after that, maybe Jackson dart. But it could be a first round where we don't see a lot of guys come off the board and we see other position groups that are either deep or have top end talent in them. The defensive tackle group is one that stands out to me. I'll be curious to see how the tight end group is viewed. There's. It's a deep group. I'm not sure the NFL values them enough to take them the first round, but again, like this, this stuff we make big deals about, you know, players this time of year saying things. We shouldn't make a big deal about this because that's the Kind of fire that you want from your quarterback or really any other player. I mean, honor Ross, St. Brown, I'm pretty sure to this day can still recite every single wide receiver that was drafted before him. And I think where they went, that's the sort of chip on your shoulder that you want for some of these guys because they hold on to it. They're able to excel and use that as motivation every single day. So again, I'm not sure. I feel like we kind of glossed over it, but yeah, I mean, here we are.
Brady Quinn
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
If, if the Giants got a hold of Cam Ward, is he that transfer? Do you feel he's that transformational type of player? No, because I think they're kind of close.
Jonas Knox
No. And I would say it doesn't matter who goes to the Giants, they don't have all the pieces yet. You know, that's a team that if you look at the roster, they're going to be devoid of not only not having depth, but not having even the top tier guys to be able to compete. I think the way you'd like to see them now, they've got neighbors that's a great starting piece, but they've got to keep building out around the quarterback position. They've got to improve the offensive line. There's a number of things they need to improve upon. So it doesn't matter who goes their quarterback, they're not going to be able to excel until they've got a better foundation built for whoever that is that's coming in at quarterback.
Dallas Goddard
So I feel like they're not too far away. I feel like their defense, they got a pretty nice defensive front, pretty decent defense in terms of being able to.
Jonas Knox
Get matters in regards to the quarterback and they can help not have to win shootouts, I guess.
Dallas Goddard
But I mean, I don't know that I'm. I'm all the way educated on how good their O line is, but I mean, they do have a good ball player in neighbors. And, and I mean, I don't know. I don't know who else they have. I don't know who else they have on.
Jonas Knox
Well, doesn't that kind of tell you enough as it is?
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, I guess it does. Yeah. Who's that running back? Who they have. Don't they have Shepard? He left, didn't he? I don't know.
Jonas Knox
Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, there you go.
Brady Quinn
What up, Tyrone? Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
I think that maybe you make a good point.
Brady Quinn
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
All right. Well, there you go.
Brady Quinn
Well, listen, it is the Herd here on fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for calling coming up next. Brady Quinn

Dallas Goddard

Brady Quinn
That is true.
Greg Tuohy
Better than no great days.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
Brady Quinn
Yeah. So we, we appreciate the efforts of Greg too. And he's going to go out with a bang coming up here in about 20 minutes from now here on FSL.
Dallas Goddard
That's a great segue. I mean, is this guy's great days behind him or does he have any in front of him?
Brady Quinn
You know, so this we kind of hit. There was a story that came out, Jordan Rodriguez of the Athletic, you know, she was talking about the Matt Stafford situation, and Albert Breer kind of threw this at us at Radio Row in the super bowl there in New Orleans about it being a real possibility that Matt Stafford could have played his final game with the Rams. And it seems crazy because you're looking at it going, well, that feels like it would be the best spot for both and all that. And so Jordan Rodriguez reported that if the Rams do move on from Stafford, they'd be interested in possibly re signing Jimmy Garoppolo as a bridge quarterback. And it does feel like this is at least a little bit more of a possibility than I thought it would be. I just assumed Matt Stafford was going to finish his career with the Rams and the question would be whether or not he would retire, not whether or not he would want to play in LA or they would want to commit that much money to him. But apparently there is the discussion about the money and, and what he's going to be paid because he's scheduled to make significantly less than what the market says this upcoming year and he's got no more guaranteed dollars left on his contract. So my question to you guys would be this. If you're Matt Stafford, and if I'm not mistaken, he and Sam Bradford were the last two that came in with that rookie deal to where if you were drafted number one overall before things changed, you got $50 million out of the gate as a rookie, he's already made in upwards of, what, $300 million in his career. Why would you go chase dollars at this point somewhere else if you know that a team that you're on currently just pushed Philly to the brink in the playoffs, in a snow game, that it looked like he might have had a chance to Take him down the field and win that game on the road there. It feels like the way they've drafted his best spot would be la, but it seems like he's chasing dollars. So I just wonder, is there more going on there than just the money? Because of considering how much he's made in his career and why he wanted out of Detroit to begin with because of all the dysfunction and their inability to win. He, of all people, would appreciate the situation he's got in LA more than anybody else, but he's committed to this dollar amount for some reason, feels a little off.
Dallas Goddard
You're at the end of your career. You're older. Why not? You got your Super Bowl. You. You. You paid off. You gave the roi. You paid it off. So why not go after as much as you can get at this point? I'm not mad at that.
Jonas Knox
Yeah, I think there's a quality of life element to it. There's an element of, you know, maybe respect, too. You. You feel like if you're playing at a high level, you're being compensated for it. If you're not being compensated up there amongst some of the highest paid, then, you know, they don't think of you that way. So there's that element of it, too. I mean, I think everyone can relate to that. Whereas you, if you feel like you're one of the best at what you do, you want to be compensated that way. So there's elements of that, and they've set that precedence with how they valued Matthew Stafford in the past. So there's. There's. I'm sure that's part of it. Then there's always the quality of life, Jonas. I mean, once you live to a certain standard, you know, I mean, you know what I'm talking about. Like, you used to tell me, you see the Ponderosa, and you're like, man, the steak just. It's. Yeah, it's a little chewy. It's a little rough sometimes. And then now you got mastros, and now all you do is go to the bar. Mastros. Every Christmas that comes around, you're like, can you give me a gift certificate to Mastros? Yeah, that's always what it's about.
Brady Quinn
You know, it's great.
Dallas Goddard
They go in a different direction, give you $8 that barely could get you a drink, you know?
Jonas Knox
You know.
Brady Quinn
You know, it's. You know what's great, though, about me? At least. At least I open mine on time. You know, there is that. That's fine.
Dallas Goddard
Dang.
Brady Quinn
How'd that feel, Lee? Right to the liver there, huh? How'd that feel?
Dallas Goddard
Oh, man, I had a. I had.
Brady Quinn
Plans to go and everything. What, are you scalping Mastro's tickets now? In front of the restaurant bars in the same boat?
Jonas Knox
He's not even aware of this.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, I don't. I don't get involved. I don't know. I tried the first year, do the whole gifts thing. Didn't work out. So I don't send y'all anything. Just give y'all a happy, happy Halloween, happy birthday, happy.
Jonas Knox
That's the joke, though, as both you and Lee got sent one.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah.
Jonas Knox
Multiple times. And they ended up literally just sending it back to me.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah.
Jonas Knox
Because you guys never opened them up.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, I don't use them. Well, I don't use anything. If I get it online, I don't use it. I'm not digital like that. And if you give me, like, you sent it by email too, right?
Brady Quinn
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
If I get something by email or digitally, I'm not using it. Like, y'all be thinking I'm joking. I don't. Like, I'm. I'm very.
Jonas Knox
Now.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah. I'm very old school.
Brady Quinn
I don't see a hard copy.
Dallas Goddard
If you gave me a hard copy, I'd use it.
Brady Quinn
It.
Dallas Goddard
If you sent me a hard.
Jonas Knox
And like, with a hard hat. Lunch pail. You're one of those type of guys.
Dallas Goddard
If you sent it to me and, like, it was a card, you take the card and go there, then I use it. But if it's digital, anything digital, like, only thing I do digital is make content and all the other stuff that's connected to it. I have people do that because I don't. I'm not into it. Like, I just. I love technology. I love where I think that it's all that. I just don't do it. I'm not good at it. I'm just not good at it. So I stay simple. Because you'll get yourself in trouble. You start doing stuff that you're not good at, and especially in that space, like the digital space, you start adding this at not. Next thing you know, you'd impaired something. This, that, and the other. Then your information's getting shared and this, that, and the other, and it's going. That might get shared to somebody. You don't want it to get shared too. I just don't want to go through all of those mental, emotional gymnastics. So I stay away from.
Brady Quinn
Thank God for Lifelock tell you that.
Dallas Goddard
Well, there you go.
Brady Quinn
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
I just don't. I don't. I. I Am my own lifelock.
Brady Quinn
I left the Google Doc open there for you.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, there you go. You could use that. I closed it.
Jonas Knox
Did you really?
Dallas Goddard
I didn't even know.
Jonas Knox
Between Lee and Tui on this Google Doc, man.
Dallas Goddard
My God, I didn't even know that it was open. I. I closed everything on here. I minimized everything on here that wasn't up here that I put up here.
Jonas Knox
These guys are in and out like a kid in a Candy store.
Brady Quinn
Those UFOs out of the water that just keep darting back and forth, and, you know, there they are, just updating and updating, and away we go. Yeah, well, I mean, it was, you know, I mean, there's.
Dallas Goddard
So. I apologize. Thank you for the gift, you know? Thank you.
Jonas Knox
You know.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, I know.
Jonas Knox
Now. Now I know I'll have to have them, like, send you one directly.
Dallas Goddard
It's two days in a row that I get. I got shamed on this, though, because Jonas is like, you want to go? I was like, what? Do you want to go with me? Well, I live, like, an hour and a half away from there. Like, well, if you don't want to go there with me, then don't. Don't invite me to go there.
Jonas Knox
I also forgot that you've moved, and it's just that now it's a little more difficult. I get that. I get that.
Dallas Goddard
Thank you.
Brady Quinn
I almost went there for Valentine's Day, but.
Dallas Goddard
What's the name of this place?
Brady Quinn
Mastros.
Dallas Goddard
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, I would use a Mastros. Yeah. I go there. Yeah. I didn't even know I would use that. I went there not too long ago.
Jonas Knox
Hold on, Lee, you almost went. Why did you decide not to go to Masters, Lee?
Brady Quinn
Well, it was a little far from the venue where we went to go see the Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. I wanted to go there, but she wanted something else.
Dallas Goddard
She ended up being mad that I.
Brady Quinn
Didn'T take her to a steakhouse, so it's her. Whatever.
Dallas Goddard
But you guys are on good terms right now?
Brady Quinn
Yeah, we're very good terms.
Dallas Goddard
Always.
Brady Quinn
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
Always.
Jonas Knox
Well, until he hangs on top.
Dallas Goddard
Always. What? Yeah, not always. You're, like, really happy right now, bro. It's really good, man. Happy for good right now. There you go.
Jonas Knox
I want you to know something. I'm on Team Todd and Ray Ray.
Dallas Goddard
So I'm gonna go hang out her out of there.
Brady Quinn
I'm gonna hang out with Todd today. She's gonna go see. She's going out with a girlfriend to see Wicked tonight, so.
Dallas Goddard
On the. Who is.
Brady Quinn
Oh, you're gonna get lit up today. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's why he's in a good mood. Yeah. Oh, okay. I got you. I haven't had a good drink since Super Bowl. I'm going straight to the Koozie right now and.
Jonas Knox
You mean since you smashed your face into Bourbon street, is that you're talking about?
Brady Quinn
That was two weeks ago today.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, he looks much better now. His nose looks healed up. He looks bad. He looks back to normal.
Jonas Knox
It's good to know you had a wake up call. You know, it lasts two weeks, but, you know, there you go.
Dallas Goddard
How's your head feel? You checked it? How's it feeling? It's a little itchy, but it's good.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, you can. You could hardly see it.
Dallas Goddard
Okay, well, good. Well, there we go. Like you, you take a fall and, and you got up and, and everything is better, you know, But I don't think Lorena and Todd are happy about it, though. I mean, Todd is getting a little bit of part time love. Lorraine is getting none at this point. I don't know. I, I like what you're doing, though. Everybody out there, let me just help you understand what, what Lee is doing. Lee is leveraging the want and the need of Todd and Lorena wanting his attention. We radio Lorena, you know, radio mouth on, on Instagram. She, she's our board op. And, and she's also was Lee's workout partner and work wife. But that's made things better between him and his personal deal because now she realizes that she's not the only one that wants Lee. Todd and Lorena want Lee, and now she's, she's acting right. So the moral of the story here is, is if you get into a bad situation in your relationship, find other people that want you. Bless you, G. Find other people that want you. And that'll make you take your, your, you know, your clout points up higher and you'll get treated differently. So good for you. Lee, don't. Don't lose your, your leverage now. Maintain your leverage, bro. Don't. Don't let it get away because you be walking around moping around when she be beating you up, bro.
Brady Quinn
364 million.
Dallas Goddard
What's that?
Brady Quinn
That's how much money Matt Stafford's made in his career. But he's got to get a few more dollars to go elsewhere.
Dallas Goddard
Why are you hating?
Jonas Knox
Yeah, he wants that master us like, like you do.
Brady Quinn
Okay, well, listen, I mean, if he wants that, get on this show and just look through Lavar's emails. You Know, I mean, what does that mean?
Dallas Goddard
They're in there because you want to get those. Those cars.
Brady Quinn
If you want those, Matt, they're there. Like, just come on, studio.
Dallas Goddard
You don't bring it back to me. I'm just saying, like, just cleared it up for you. Now you want to put me back into it. Okay, stay on the 364 million. Go ahead.
Brady Quinn
Landing spots. No, no landing spots for Matthew Stafford because I don't want to piss him off.
Dallas Goddard
I call him. Let's go to Pittsburgh.
Brady Quinn
Okay.
Dallas Goddard
I take Matthew Stafford in Pittsburgh.
Brady Quinn
So you would take Matthew. You think he's got a better path to another super bowl in Pittsburgh over la?
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, I know. Well, no, LA is pretty good.
Brady Quinn
Stay put.
Dallas Goddard
But they're getting rid of his best friend, and that's upsetting to him, and he doesn't want to be here anymore. He doesn't want to deal with the team that doesn't want Cooper cup on it.
Brady Quinn
He's got hookah. Nakua.
Dallas Goddard
He does have hookah. The hookah. Smoke them. But. But the bottom line is, is that his bestie is.
Jonas Knox
Is he's gonna be turning butter elsewhere.
Dallas Goddard
Gonna be turning that. Churning that butter in other places. Maybe he wants to see where Eddie lands and he wants to go there.
Brady Quinn
It's his fault for, you know, anchoring up with an Amish guy who's got to go back to his village. Like that's. He could do whatever he wants.
Dallas Goddard
You know, there's a lot of Amish towns in. In Pennsylvania. So let's. Let's bring on the Pittsburgh.
Brady Quinn
I just. To me, this surprises.
Dallas Goddard
Isn't that Amish Q. Where?
Jonas Knox
Yes, sir. Shippensburg.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
Okay.
Dallas Goddard
All right. Interesting.
Brady Quinn
I just.
Dallas Goddard
Markets. Yeah.
Brady Quinn
I don't know, man. I feel like at this point shouts.
Dallas Goddard
Out to the Amish too. They got some badass buggies, man. Some nice horses that be pulling them.
Brady Quinn
No doubt. Listening to us on the iHeartRadio app.
Dallas Goddard
Right now, 100% are not listening to us.
Jonas Knox
I was gonna say if there's ever a demographic we're probably not gonna talk to.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah. It's just not gonna figure that one out. You know how you're going to be able to hear us, you know, but that's all right.
Jonas Knox
At least they don't hate us not talking NBA more, you know, they don't.
Dallas Goddard
Hate anything we have to say because they're not hearing it. They make it. They might get it. Word of mouth, though. Don't. Don't think that they don't get information. Word of mouth. They. Somebody Got the Cowboys some. Somebody got that word of mouth information like, hey, they was talking about us on the radio today. I ever read it. Talking about it on radio.
Brady Quinn
Is that how Amish talk?
Dallas Goddard
Oh, they have a weird accent. Really, it's different. I ain't going to say weird. It's just different. They have a very distinctive accent.
Brady Quinn
They don't brush their teeth, so what do you expect?
Dallas Goddard
I don't know anything about that. I mean, I know they have sheets involved on their beds and stuff like that. That's really all I know. Whatever it is, they get to go out. They get like released to go live life for a minute and decide do they want to continue to live within the parameters and the rules that they live in, or do they want to stay out there? And they. Most of them go running back, from what I hear.
Brady Quinn
Imagine an Amish guy walking into a liquor store with Lee just being like, so what's the appeal? These bottles are so small. I guess. No, don't worry about it. Just. Just shoves them in his. In his shorts. He's walking around in cargo shorts. Like, why do you have pockets on your head?
Dallas Goddard
They got everything for you, though, man. Their food is super good, man. Super good.
Brady Quinn
Don't they make good desserts?
Dallas Goddard
Super good desserts. Super good. Soup, bread, all kind. Like, you name it. Like, they good at it, man. That's one thing. They. They take pride in what they do. Shouts out to y'all.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, well, listen, if you happen to be driving by one, just pull over, turn on your car radio and let them hear it.
Dallas Goddard
Cooper Cup. Cup and Sam. Matthew, not Sam. Matthew Stafford and Cooper cup and Pittsburgh. That's a win. Let's make it happen. Okay, I'll put that out here.
Jonas Knox
Here.
Dallas Goddard
So somebody clipped that, pushed that out. Pittsburgh outlets, pick it up. Let's. Let's get some. Let's get some. Some traction here. That would be a tremendous win for that offense. Tell me I'm wrong. I mean, it's.
Brady Quinn
It's an upgrade. I just, you know, it's a little. Little strange to me why he would want out. But, hey, maybe he, you know, there's other things going on there and he just wants to.
Dallas Goddard
Maybe he just wants to play football, man.
Brady Quinn
By the way, I think he has a relative who was just hired on the Giant staff as well, too, Matt Stafford. So, you know, some people have tried to tie that together, that maybe the Giants could be a possibility if. If they're looking to make a big upgrade. So there's that, but we will keep you Posted if Matthew Stafford Amish in the next 20 minutes.
Dallas Goddard
Not going to turn Amish. But. But isn't that where. Isn't that where Cooper cup is going? You said he's going back to the motherland. That Shippensburg. That's Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Let's go to Pitt.
Brady Quinn
All right.
Dallas Goddard
Let's go to the Steelers.
Brady Quinn
That works. Let's go and buy horse and buggy. That's like a two day ride to. Let's go field her acupuncture stadium. Whatever they're calling.
Dallas Goddard
So there's enough farms that are close by they could get a place where they could house the buggy and house the horses. I'm telling you, quick people give it to them. Yeah.
Jonas Knox
You may be inaccurately throwing Shippensburg in there.
Dallas Goddard
Dang. What is it?
Jonas Knox
Amish population.
Dallas Goddard
What is it? What is.
Jonas Knox
It's a different Lancaster County.
Dallas Goddard
Lancaster. Lancaster. Lancaster.
Jonas Knox
That's close.
Dallas Goddard
Lancaster.
Jonas Knox
Lawrence County.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah.
Jonas Knox
Lancaster as well.
Dallas Goddard
In Pennsylvania it's Lancaster. You're right, it is. Lancashire link.
Jonas Knox
There's actually one in Ohio and Holmes county as well.
Dallas Goddard
So there you go. It's Lancaster. Which is the other Shippensburg.
Jonas Knox
Who just this.
Dallas Goddard
Oh, no. There's Amish in Shippensburg now. They are in Shippensburg. 100%.
Jonas Knox
Okay.
Dallas Goddard
Yeah, I'm, I'm. But. But Lancaster is definitely the motherland. MPA. 100%. It is. Yeah. Okay. You're. Thank you. Thanks for clearing that up. No, Shippensburg is. It definitely is.
Jonas Knox
I trust you. I'm just. I can't believe we actually ventured into this conversation.
Dallas Goddard
Trust me, it is.
Brady Quinn
I mean, I'm looking at Aruga's Sports Bar there in Shippensburg. I don't see one single Amish guy at the bar like that. Like you think a guy would like take his hat off, be stroking his beard and he's working on a vodka soda. So I think we got it wrong. Apologies.
Dallas Goddard
I don't think so.
Jonas Knox
Were you looking for Roy Munson? Is that what you think? I don't know.
Brady Quinn
The underrated part is when they need.
Jonas Knox
To go watch Kingpin.
Brady Quinn
When he. When he walks in and the guy's going to. At the urinal.
Dallas Goddard
Oh, man.
Brady Quinn
Movie. So good. But happy trails to Matt Stafford. And this is the end. It is the herd here on fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in for Colin. Bobby Bones

Dallas Goddard
There was something sentimental.
Brady Quinn
When you, like, when, when you send.
Greg Tuohy
It, it's like, do I send the heart now?
Bobby Bones
I don't like the color edition.

Dallas Goddard
No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the Herd line news.
Brady Quinn
Greg Tuohy.
Dallas Goddard
Yay.
Brady Quinn
Hey, guys. Last of the week.
Greg Tuohy
Let's go. It's Friday, right? Oh, no.
Dallas Goddard
For you it is.
Brady Quinn
It's your Friday.
Greg Tuohy
No. Okay. The University of Illinois had a very, very embarrassing moment this past weekend, and they were unveiling former Illini star Terence Shannon's jersey at the State Farm center in Champaign because when it was unveiled and raised, the jersey was the wrong number. Upside down.
Dallas Goddard
Oh.
Greg Tuohy
Even worse, here was Illinois AD Josh Whitman on the unfortunate incident.
Dallas Goddard
Regrettable situation at halftime with the jersey around Terrence's celebration, obviously. Real regrettable moment. It's a shame that it happened that way. Of course, I didn't hang the jersey, but I'm ultimately responsible for everything that happens in this building. And ultimately that means that was on me tonight. We need to make sure that we understand it. In life, mistakes happen, but there are also certain moments where mistakes can't happen.
Greg Tuohy
Key word right there. Key word can't happen.
Brady Quinn
It's my fault, but I didn't do it.
Greg Tuohy
I didn't do it.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, I didn't do that. But it. Ultimately, it's my fault.
Dallas Goddard
I mean, he owned it. I mean, there was a mistake made. He owned it.
Greg Tuohy
But here's, here's my question for Lavar and Brady. I know both of you had many jerseys retired.
Dallas Goddard
Not me.
Jonas Knox
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard
Never.
Greg Tuohy
How upset would you guys be if this happened to you?
Dallas Goddard
I would laugh it off.
Jonas Knox
I. Well, I mean, what else can you do? I think that's the only thing you can do.
Dallas Goddard
But they ain't do it on purpose. Like, just fix it.
Jonas Knox
Yeah. So I would, in my head, though, be thinking, well, this place can't be run very well if, like, no one happened to check the gigantic, like, billboard that's displaying my jersey number. No one happened to go, hey, by the way, is this thing right the right way up? We checked on this before we hung it right before we, like, took it all the way up there in the rafters. So it's, it's, it's a little bit Negligent, you know, not. Not giving me a lot of hope or optimism him for the program moving forward.
Dallas Goddard
11 is the same number upside down anyway, so I'll be all right.
Greg Tuohy
Good point, Lavar. I would have a good point.
Jonas Knox
Although how would Harry carry Jonas say his. His Harrington's neighbor goes backwards.
Dallas Goddard
You know, Eric just spelled backwards high here, Wrigley Field to throw out the ceremony of your first pitches of our.
Brady Quinn
Eric to the 11 and are wild here the one and the one that.
Dallas Goddard
Next to each other there.
Brady Quinn
It dispels backwards. What?
Greg Tuohy
I haven't heard that in a while. I need to get up earlier. I miss that. I missed that. All right, we'll wrap it up with this, guys.
Dallas Goddard
Everybody.
Greg Tuohy
Jonas, Knox, this one's for you, buddy. Fox Sports announced this morning they will be airing the Tokyo series, Dodgers, Cubs, March 18th through 19th. All right, here's the thing. Guess what time these games start.
Brady Quinn
Speak to us, Tuohy.
Greg Tuohy
Brady, you want to take a guess?
Jonas Knox
Our time or their time?
Greg Tuohy
Your time? Eastern time.
Jonas Knox
Oh, Eastern Time.
Brady Quinn
4:00Am Close.
Greg Tuohy
6:00Am Eastern. What else starts at 6:00am eastern?
Brady Quinn
Two pros and a cup of Joe.
Greg Tuohy
So what's Jonas going to be doing for those two days? Brady, you and Lavar gonna be carrying the show?
Brady Quinn
Oh, man.
Jonas Knox
No, we'll be fine live. That Jesus may make an appearance, though.
Dallas Goddard
Which would be nice.
Jonas Knox
Yeah.
Brady Quinn
We'Re gonna have an actual sporting event on while we're doing the show.
Dallas Goddard
Go figure.
Brady Quinn
That's amazing.
Dallas Goddard
I kind of don't want to go back to our time slot now.
Jonas Knox
Where do you think they're playing? Over there in Japan and.
Dallas Goddard
Okay. And I.
Brady Quinn
Okay.
Jonas Knox
I actually don't think they're playing there. Is that accurate? Tui?
Greg Tuohy
They're playing in Tokyo.
Brady Quinn
Tokyo.
Greg Tuohy
Tokyo Dome.
Dallas Goddard
Oh, there you go.
Greg Tuohy
But I will say this. So last year, I don't know if you guys remember this, but they had the sales.
Brady Quinn
This.
Greg Tuohy
Whole series, South Korea, it's like, Jonah, there's one other word I can't say that's growing soul.
Brady Quinn
Growing.
Greg Tuohy
Growing.
Dallas Goddard
I can't say growing like the growing in your.
Greg Tuohy
Yeah, I can't say that word.
Dallas Goddard
But you just got to shoot it anyway. There's a lot of words I don't say.
Jonas Knox
Right.
Dallas Goddard
I just shoot it out there.
Greg Tuohy
Anyway, last year, they had Dodgers, Padres opening up in South Korea, but nobody really knew it was happening. It just was on one day.
Brady Quinn
Right.
Dallas Goddard
I will say this.
Greg Tuohy
They're doing a good job promoting it with all the influx of Japanese stars that have come over with Otani and.
Brady Quinn
Yamamoto and the Rookie Yamamoto SE Suzuki shout.
Greg Tuohy
Yeah, so like this is actually going to be like, don't you have to.
Dallas Goddard
Put more bass in your voice when you say Suzuki though?
Brady Quinn
Say a Suzuki.
Dallas Goddard
Say a Suzuki. Like that right there. Suzuki. That's what you got to do. Like that. I watch, I watch like Last Samurai and stuff like that.
Brady Quinn
He's pissed off, by the way, because he's got to be a. Only a dh. It's like, well, you drop too many fly balls. I don't know what to tell you, dude. Like, that's. Of course you're going to be a dh.
Greg Tuohy
Oh, this should be fun though. This will be fun.
Brady Quinn
Why would anybody in baseball be upset about just being a dh? You imagine that all you're doing is.
Dallas Goddard
Hitting because his last name is Suzuki.
Greg Tuohy
Because you're not getting any action in the field.
Brady Quinn
You're just.
Greg Tuohy
You just get out of the dugout.
Jonas Knox
Yeah, action, boss.
Greg Tuohy
Yeah.

Okay, well, listen, we've got a lot. And also it should be pointed out the date on that the first game is March 18th. That's the morning after St. Patty's Day, Yogi. Which I think there's going to be some Dodger fans listening on the blowtorch and LA Sports who are going to probably be partying at a, at an Irish pub and just continue it on over until the game starts the next morning. So, I mean, Brady, you got any plans for St. Patty's Day or you're going to keep it light?

Podcast Summary: The Herd with Colin Cowherd – Hour 3: Dollars Over Stars
Release Date: February 18, 2025
In this engaging third hour of "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," hosted by iHeartPodcasts and The Volume, Colin Cowherd delves into the intricate dynamics of financial decision-making within top NFL franchises. Titled "Dollars Over Stars," the episode provides a deep dive into how monetary considerations influence team performance, player contracts, and organizational strategies. The discussion features prominent guests Dallas Goddard, Brady Quinn, and Jonas Knox, who offer their expert insights on various sports-related topics.
The conversation kicks off with a critical examination of the Dallas Cowboys’ current organizational structure. Dallas Goddard emphasizes the need for a transformative change in the team's management to foster a winning culture.
Dallas Goddard [07:00]: "The call to action is you have to get somebody in there who is going to build a winning culture. It has to start with a better GM that embraces a winning mentality."
Goddard argues that the Cowboys' perennial struggles can be attributed to ineffective decision-making at the ownership level, particularly highlighting Jerry Jones' intertwined role with the team's operations. He suggests that reassigning or redefining roles within the organization, such as relocating Jerry Jones' son to a different position, could catalyze positive changes.
A significant portion of the discussion centers around Micah Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys' standout linebacker. Brady Quinn raises concerns about Parsons' increased commentary during the offseason and speculates on his motivations regarding his contract negotiations.
Brady Quinn [06:15]: "Micah Parsons says there's definitely a plan in place for his contract. It makes you wonder if he's looking around, thinking he's never going to win here, so it's time to demand better pay."
Jonas Knox adds that despite the Cowboys being one of the most recognizable brands, the lack of recent success might be pushing Parsons to seek higher compensation elsewhere.
Jonas Knox [07:30]: "There's a lot of advantages to playing for a big brand, but if your team isn't winning, you might feel undervalued and look for opportunities where your contributions are better recognized and compensated."
The hosts shift focus to compare the Cowboys with other NFL teams like the New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas Goddard points out that while the Giants are struggling, teams like Washington and the Eagles are making strategic moves to enhance their competitiveness.
Brady Quinn [10:05]: "The Giants look inept, especially after letting a franchise player walk who went on to rush for over 2,000 yards and win a Super Bowl. It feels like the Giants would have to make aggressive moves this offseason to fix their quarterback situation."
Goddard counters by highlighting Washington's positive trajectory under new management and a promising quarterback in Jaden Daniels, contrasting it with the Giants' quarterback quandary.
Dallas Goddard [12:04]: "Washington took a significant step in the right direction with good management and leadership. They have a quarterback in Jaden Daniels who can make them contenders for years to come, unlike the Giants who are struggling to find stability at quarterback."
The episode delves into the quarterback landscape, discussing potential draft picks and the future of established players like Matt Stafford. The hosts debate whether the Giants should pursue quarterbacks like Cam Ward or consider retaining veterans like Stafford.
Jonas Knox [16:20]: "Cam Ward is arguably the best in this draft class. If the Giants land him, he could be a transformational player, but they need to build a better foundation around him for him to excel."
The discussion then transitions to Matt Stafford’s situation with the Los Angeles Rams, exploring the possibility of his departure due to contract disputes and the Rams' financial constraints.
Brady Quinn [27:33]: "Matt Stafford has made upwards of $364 million in his career. If he's chasing dollars, it feels off because he appreciated the situation in LA more than anybody else."
Dallas Goddard [35:19]: "If the Rams decide to move on from Stafford, Pittsburgh could be a better fit for him. It offers a clearer path to a Super Bowl compared to the current turmoil in LA."
Towards the end of the episode, the hosts address a recent embarrassing incident where the University of Illinois unveiled Terence Shannon's jersey upside down. Greg Tuohy holds the Illinois Athletic Director accountable for the mishap.
Greg Tuohy [48:04]: "Mistakes happen, but certain moments shouldn't allow for errors like this. Ultimately, I'm responsible for everything that happens in this building."
The discussion highlights the importance of meticulousness in organizational events and the broader implications of such mistakes on team reputation and morale.
The episode wraps up with light-hearted banter and a look forward to future discussions, including potential special guests and upcoming sports events. The hosts reaffirm their commitment to providing in-depth analysis and engaging conversations on "The Herd."
Dallas Goddard [40:31]: "Lancaster is definitely the motherland for the Amish in Pennsylvania. Let's go to Pittsburgh!"
Overall, "Hour 3 – Dollars Over Stars" offers a comprehensive analysis of how financial strategies and management decisions impact NFL teams' performances. Through expert opinions and insightful discussions, the hosts shed light on the delicate balance between monetary investments and sporting excellence, making it a must-listen for sports enthusiasts seeking a deeper understanding of the business side of football.
