Now let's get this party started.
Colin Cowherd
You're listening to Fox Sports Sports Radio. You still didn't tell me who was in the dunk contest this weekend.
Chris Broussard
Mac McClung. Remember that high five.
Colin Cowherd
Is he in it.
Chris Broussard
He's in it. He's wanted a couple times. A couple other guys.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. I went to a dunk contest.
Chris Broussard
One I did see they just canceled the NBA versus WNBA three point shooting thing. Curry versus a WNBA player. They were going to do it, but then they scrapped it. Not great.
Colin Cowherd
Is Caitlin Clark.
Chris Broussard
She's not. Come on. She's way too big for three point shooting contest, even against Curry. So she's not doing that.
Colin Cowherd
No, I think against Curry it'd be fantastic.
Chris Broussard
And no win for Curry.
Colin Cowherd
No win for Curry.
Chris Broussard
So what's he doing?
Colin Cowherd
I think it would be. I would.
Chris Broussard
Caitlin Clark will get that. A monster TV rating. But it's not happening this year. Maybe when it's an indie, she'll do it or something.
Colin Cowherd
She probably wants to do it for the wnba. Why would I want to help the NBA if I'm Caitlin Clark? I want to help the wnba.
Chris Broussard
Well, to reach a new audience, I guess, of viewers.
Colin Cowherd
Right.
Chris Broussard
A bunch of WNBA fans who maybe haven't. Aren't familiar.
Colin Cowherd
It's interesting because it's a huge platform and if you beat Curry, it would be one for the ages.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, I mean, Curry's secure enough that I think he'd probably do it. He's like, dude, I'm a legend. I'm a top 12.
Colin Cowherd
I don't think so. These guys, literally. Rachel Nichols told us yesterday, they get worked up over who's the last guy announced for the starting lineup. LeBron, like, worries about that stuff.
Chris Broussard
Like if Caitlin Clark said, j. Mack, I want to do a three point shooting contest with you. I'm going to make. I'm going to embarrass you. I would still do it. Like, I would be fun for me. I don't.
Colin Cowherd
You're not Steph Curry.
Chris Broussard
I know, I'm.
Colin Cowherd
It would be a huge win for you. It's not, you know, years ago night, I think it was Nike, it was the agent, David Falk. Apparently something had been proposed for Michael Jordan to play Magic Johnson in a one on one game.
Chris Broussard
I think I heard.
Colin Cowherd
And MJ said no, no, no, no, no, no. He said, magic's already considered the better team guy. If he beat me in one on one, it is terrible for my brand. He goes, I don't think he would, but I don't want to do that. So Michael Jordan, very smart, Said, I'm not, I'm not putting myself in that spot. Because Magic was viewed as the better team guy. Jordan, the great one on one guy. Well, if Magic beat him, he got both over.
Chris Broussard
I think that's an antiquated way to look at things. Like now in the current atmosphere, you lose one on one. Who cares? Within the next week, there's 75 million other stories.
Colin Cowherd
Let me ask you, why is LeBron never in the dunk contest?
Chris Broussard
Because you don't want to do it. Yeah, you got to be creative and a lot of energy. And Michael Jordan won a dunk contest or two back in the day. LeBron never won one like LeBron would.
Colin Cowherd
Be compared to MJ. This stuff.
Chris Broussard
Just enter a dunk contest. You've got to have like a game plan. Some dunks that haven't been seen before.
Colin Cowherd
You don't think LeBron's got those?
Chris Broussard
He probably does, but I don't know why. Am I turning into a LeBron defender?
Colin Cowherd
No, I'm just saying. Coming up next, when Rachel Nichols acknowledged that the last guy announced for the lakers is it LeBron or Luca? And it matters. What? That's like me worrying about a parking space which people in our industry can worry about, which I think is the dumbest thing in the world.
Chris Broussard
I know who you're talking about.
Colin Cowherd
I'm not gonna get into names.
Chris Broussard
I know who you talk about. Anyways, come on, let's.
Colin Cowherd
I almost had a great line. All right.

It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
Colin Cowherd
There was something sentimental when you. When you send it. It was like, do I send the heart now?
Bobby Bones
I don't like the color edition.
Colin Cowherd
It's extremely pink.

Be sure to catch live editions of the Herd, weekdays at noon Eastern, 9am Pacific, on Fox Sports Radio FS1 and the iHeartRadio app, J. Mac for the news. No, no, no, no.
Mary Kay McBrayer
Turn on the news.
Colin Cowherd
This is the.
Chris Broussard
Here we go into the NFL offseason. Colin FoxSports.com had an interesting article breaking down the top seven quarterbacks under the most pressure to succeed. Succeed next season.
Colin Cowherd
Okay.
Chris Broussard
Obviously, at the top of the list is Lamar Jackson. No doubt about it. Number two, Josh Allen. Again, no surprise. Number three, mild surprise, Justin Herbert.
Colin Cowherd
No, I think people want that pressure. I would think Trevor Lawrence has got to be up there. No, this is a pretty good list. This is a pretty good list. Who did this?
Chris Broussard
Like boxports.com Dak Prescott.
Colin Cowherd
4.
Chris Broussard
2 of 5.
Colin Cowherd
Well, who wrote it?
Chris Broussard
I don't know.
Colin Cowherd
It didn't write it himself.
Chris Broussard
Anthony Richardson.
Colin Cowherd
Why don't you give somebody credit?
Chris Broussard
I'll look it up.
Colin Cowherd
I know if you wrote it, you'd tell me.
Chris Broussard
I would be bragging. Yes, yes.
Colin Cowherd
I think this is. Is there any pressure on Dak? We know what Dak is. I don't think there's pressure on Dak.
Chris Broussard
You mean the highest paid quarterback in the sport? Yeah, there's pressure, I guess.
Colin Cowherd
I think there's pressure on Anthony Richardson to see if he can complete 50% of his THR.
Chris Broussard
What about Jared Goff?
Colin Cowherd
No, we know what he is.
Chris Broussard
We do. A guy who can't win the big game.
Colin Cowherd
How about Brock Purdy going into a contract Year. I know. Listen. And being good on a day. It's overcast.
Chris Broussard
Yeah. By the way, Ben Arthur is the author of this piece.
Colin Cowherd
Where'd he go? Ben.
Chris Broussard
Ben.
Colin Cowherd
I think Brock Purdy should be on that list.
Chris Broussard
How's he under pressure? He's been a conference championships.
Colin Cowherd
I'd like to see if every time it drizzles, his passer rating plummets. Here comes a cloud. It's gonna be a bad day.
Chris Broussard
Wednesday.
Colin Cowherd
Nice to see if you could play with overcast. Guys.
Chris Broussard
Thursday is just take shots at everyone. Oh, my gosh. All right, next up is your team of destiny for next season, the New England Patriots. Colin. New England brought in Mike Vrabel as a head coach. Josh McDaniels is going to be the OC. They got to rebuild team culture, help guide Drake May into year two. Kurt Warner, you guys remember him, obviously recently discussed where he thinks McDaniels will help Drake May the most. Take a listen.
Kurt Warner
I think he's always going to give Drake options. You know, the one thing that we would talk about with Tom a lot was, you know, they would play a little bit more small ball. They weren't this throw it down the field all the time. I mean, obviously when they had Randy and stuff. But a lot of their offenses were, you know, kind of pick you apart and, you know, and take what the defense gives you and giving Tom easy options more often than I think Drake had this year. And so that's one thing that I think Josh will do a great job of, is I'm going to give you chances to just complete balls and move the chains and not have to make the big throw or the big run all the time to do things.
Colin Cowherd
10 wins, 10 and 7. Wild Card team behind Buffalo. I feel strongly about this. This is my Washington commanders make the playoffs pick. They got a ton of money. They need a number one receiver. I think. I think they need left tackle receiver.
Chris Broussard
They need an offensive line bad. What if they don't get T. Higgins? Is there like a backup plan after T. Higgins? Like the receiver market's not amazing. Colin Cooper cup. I don't know that he does much to help.
Colin Cowherd
I'm not going to pay free agent market is T. Higgins and that's it for receivers. There's other people. You know, there's some offensive linemen. You know, they could look at Trey Smith. I don't know.
Chris Broussard
I worry if Chiefs guys are almost getting to the point. Remember how Patriots players would be awesome under Belichick and then leave. Good point and go elsewhere and not really deliver.
Colin Cowherd
That's good point.
Chris Broussard
I wonder if that's a Chiefs thing.
Colin Cowherd
I mean Snead did nothing in Tennessee.
Chris Broussard
Nothing. One of our producers was texting me, hey, you know the Titans defense was good the first six games with Snead.
Colin Cowherd
First six games, then he got hurt.
Chris Broussard
It's like it wasn't that great. Patriots are interesting in the off season. If you do your list, you know in two weeks, most interesting teams, Patriots have to be top.
Colin Cowherd
Well, if you look at the free agent market, we put it up earlier. Who out of that list? T. Higgins. I would go after.
Chris Broussard
I think everybody's in on T. Higgins.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah.
Chris Broussard
Chargers are going to be all in.
Colin Cowherd
They don't need a corner.
Chris Broussard
Gonzalez played well. I like him.
Colin Cowherd
He got her.
Chris Broussard
He's need an offensive line badly like they need every position on the line.
Colin Cowherd
Is there a good right tackle in the free agent market? I draft the left tackle.
Chris Broussard
I'd get a right tackle like of those guys do. I don't think you're getting Chris Godwin.
Colin Cowherd
You know I really like Nick Bolton but again it's a linebacker but I like him a lot.
Chris Broussard
Chiefs guy I know Spagnolo scheme. Is he all of a sudden going to turn into a pumpkin in New England now? A guy like Khalil Mack to me is plug and play. You get him on the defense, coming off the edge.
Colin Cowherd
He's expensive.
Chris Broussard
He is going to be expensive. Yeah. That list is not awesome of free agents. I'm more excited about the draft. I would want picks this year. I like this coming draft final story. Collins to the NBA where Kevin Durant he's had a lot of controversy in his career. Look like he might have get traded at the deadline last week. Nothing came of it. He's still in Phoenix. Now an NBA insider believes Durant will probably get traded over the summer. Summer Adding Durant knows it, the Suns know it, the rest of the league knows it. Now we know that Durant said he does not want to go back to Golden State. Colin, give me a couple options for KD next season. Turning 36 I believe in September he's still gotten a lot of value. It's from. It's Kevin Durant.
Colin Cowherd
Let me.
Chris Broussard
Could you convince him to take less? I'm sorry? Turning 37 in September. Could you convince KD to take less?
Colin Cowherd
To go where?
Chris Broussard
Play with Luke and LeBron? Hey man, you don't have to be a leader. You just got to be a spot up shooter.
Colin Cowherd
That'd be interesting.
Chris Broussard
We need help defense badly.
Colin Cowherd
That'd be interesting.
Chris Broussard
But would he take less? He's already known as, like, a guy who jumps on the bandwagon or whatever. I don't totally buy into that.
Colin Cowherd
But who's saying that?
Chris Broussard
Everybody who watched him go to Golden State and then follow Kyrie, you know, you know, the Washington Wizards. What about Houston area? Huh?
Colin Cowherd
Houston.
Chris Broussard
That's a. That's a good fit. They need, like, a veteran.
Colin Cowherd
Yep. Houston.
Chris Broussard
A bucket getter.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. I mean, he is still a remarkable offensive player.
Chris Broussard
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
And it feels like he. He's had some injuries, but I kind of feel like he's. He's okay.
Chris Broussard
If you want to have fun, go to his social media account and then just scroll in and he will just say some outlandish stuff.
Colin Cowherd
Like what?
Chris Broussard
You know, he'll just reply to random people, be like, I don't need your negative energy in the building. Just don't come to Suns games. He says that to fans, which is pretty funny. You know, I got to respect him. Unlike Aaron Rodgers, who talks down to everyone. Kevin Durantis will talk right to you. Hey, man, I don't need to. I don't need that crap. Scram.
Colin Cowherd
I like him. I think we both like him.
Chris Broussard
I like him.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, I thought. I think he kind of tanked his career, but he would. If he saw me and he'd yell at me and shoot a jumper over me for saying that.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, he would probably yell.
Colin Cowherd
I thought he was 30 years old, back to back, MVP in the Finals. He was arguably as good as LeBron. I didn't think so. Most did. And he went.
Chris Broussard
And I wonder, would he admit that Draymond Green is the reason he left Golden State?
Colin Cowherd
Well, I don't know if he'd admit that. I think it's part of it and.
Chris Broussard
Part of it, you know, and he likes Kyrie. Kyrie. You know, he wanted to hang with his guy.
Colin Cowherd
J. Mac with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by the Herd lie news. Chris Broussard joining us live. Haven't talked to Brew in a while. Well, let's ask you on that Kevin Durant thing I threw out Houston. I said this yesterday is. He's really a remarkable player. I wish he would have stayed with Golden State. I thought Brooklyn just didn't work. But he's a different. He's an artist. He's a different kind of cat. Where do you think he ends up? Because I still contend he's a top bucket getter in the league. Where do you think he ends up?
Mary Kay McBrayer
Yeah, it's interesting. You say he's an artist because I do just based off some of the things he says. Colin I feel like Kevin Durant is one of those guys that I don't care. You guys are all in the winning championships. I just want to be better today than I was yesterday. Yeah, I want my jump shot to be smoother today than it was yesterday, my handle to be better. So that. That is an artist. But look, I still. If I'm Golden State because what. What some people around the league are saying, this is not from Kevin Durant or anything like that, but what some people around the league are saying is that Durant didn't go to Golden State because he didn't want to play with Draymond again. Now, from what I'm told, they've rekindled their friendship. That's fine. But it's just playing with Draymond. Draymond is always running his mouth. He's always directing traffic. Go here, go there, go. And a lot of guys don't like that. Steph's fine with it. He's able to play with it, but a lot of guys get tired of that. And I'm getting the impression from what I'm being told that, you know, Durant just doesn't want to be directed and yelled at and go here and go there, even though, again, he and Draymond have made up as far as being friends. So if I'm Golden State, I'm willing to move. If I can move Draymond to get Kevin Durant first. That's what I'm trying to do. If I'm Golden State now, if that can't happen. Houston, Yes, I like him. Look, what about San Antonio? A veteran Wimby Dear and Fox? You know, I don't know if they can make it happen, but that's something that I would like to see happen or I've tried to make happen. If I was the spurs, too.
Colin Cowherd
That's a good one. That Stephen Castle kids a stud. Wemby Fox, K.D. poor. That'd be a handful. So through two games, it's pretty obvious the Lakers are not going to be as good defensively. I said this. All the attention's on Luka. But what we forget is AD is arguably the best defensive player in the league. The last two years, you lost the best defensive player, and now you get Lukas, one of the worst defensive players and out of shape. I watched them last night, and the Jazz were like, let's just start a bunch of big guys. The Lakers just got out flanked and outsized. What do you think it's going to look like also the Lakers are not a big three point shooting team, but now they're going to become a huge three point shooting team with Luka a it's a transition. What do you think it's going to look like at its best form in a month?
Mary Kay McBrayer
I'm not writing them off as a Western Conference contender. I think the top two teams in the west are Oklahoma City and Denver. And I would throw the Lakers in there as maybe that third top contender because the other guys are young. Houston, I think is just too young. Memphis is very good, very talented, great offense and some defense, but they might be a tad bit too immature and young as well. And then you got teams like the Clippers. So the Lakers have a shot, but they're still working out. You mentioned the defense last night. Now, their defense over the past month had been great. And that was not all. Anthony Davis, he like their last 11 games, they were the best defense in the league. And Anthony Davis only played five of those games. Dorian Finney Smith was helping a lot. Gabe Vincent, who was injured most of last season, he's helped a lot defensively and those two guys didn't play last night. So that was part of the problem defensively. And then Jackson Hayes. Look, when Jackson Hayes is a critical piece, that might spell trouble for you. But when Jackson Hayes went out in the first quarter, that was their size and Alex Lynn just wasn't ready to play well. And so their lack of size is huge defensively, let's see. Because like I said, they've been a good defensive team recently. Last night they went back to being poor. We'll see what they do going forward. And offensively, Colin Luka has been off the ball a lot and Luka needs to be on the ball now. He has to improve in terms of moving the basketball quickly, not just dominating it and also moving without the ball. But if you want the Luka who's the MVP candidate, then you better put the ball in his hands. You can't have him standing at the top of the key or the wing without the ball or standing in the corner without the ball. So they have to figure all of this out. LeBron's become good at playing without the ball and Austin Reaves. It can't be one moment is Reeves, One moment is LeBron, one moment it's Luka bringing it up because Luka's not used to that. And so I think they're going to have to eventually put the ball in his hands and let him go to Work.
Colin Cowherd
Listen, the Knicks play everybody. Well, except the Celtics. I've watched them twice play Boston and get bulldozed. Game was over in four minutes. The Celtics just attacked Carl Anthony Towns and Brunson defensively. But I like this team. When they made the move for Carl Anthony Towns, I thought it was a move for another move like Giannis. Do you think this is as it's currently constituted? Are the Knicks potentially a championship team, or are we looking at a team that needs to make another move? Because I don't like the way they match up with Boston, but I do like the way they match up with everybody else in the league.
Mary Kay McBrayer
Yeah, I mean, Boston and some other. Some of the top teams they've had trouble with. If I'm running the Knicks, what I'm doing is, like, this year, look, we're going for it. Of course we want to win a championship. We made our big move to get Karl Anthony Towns, who has been fantastic. Right, Right. But I want to see how we play in these playoffs. I don't know. You're right. They. They haven't matched up well against Boston and some of the other top teams. So to me, what I'm watching, if I'm the Knicks, let's make. Let's get into the playoffs, make this run and see what we need from there. If, obviously, if we win the east, then great, we just kind of run it back, maybe add a tweak. But you'll probably find out if they lose an Eastern Conference playoffs, they'll know what we need to kind of get to that next level. Because you look at them on paper, you got the great big man that scores, you got the great point guard that scores and distributes the ball. You've got defenders, you've got role players. You got shooters. They, you know, like, their defense has to get better. Ironically, Tibbs has always been known as a defensive coach. They don't defend the three very well, so that's something they can improve on. But on paper, they look like they have what they need. I just think you have to see what happens in the playoffs to know, okay, this is the final straw for us to get to that championship level.
Colin Cowherd
By the way, Jimmy Butler makes the warriors more interesting. I had a guy, Ethan Strauss, on earlier that said maybe that's all it's for, is that when Steph Curry was off the floor before Jimmy Butler, they were unwatchable, and I don't think they were championship team. You know, Kaminga, Butler, Curry, Draymond. I think your KD take is interesting. Do you think it's a. Are they. Could they win a playoff series with Jimmy Butler?
Mary Kay McBrayer
Yes, because remember how great playoff Jimmy is. We know Steph can deliver in the playoffs. Draymond is great defense. You know, you. You got some good role players around those guys. And so if playoff Jimmy shows up, they could absolutely win around. They can't win the West. This is not a championship team. But they got better. What they did to me is assure themselves of making, like, the play in and having a good chance to get into that final group of playoff teams, and then, you know, they could win around, depending on the matchup. But it was a good move for them. But again, it's not a move that gets them to the championship level. So I'm not closing the book on Kevin Durant if I'm the warriors, because we all think he'll get moved this summer. And I'm open to moving Draymond, if that's possible to make. Make room for K D. Chris Broussard.
Colin Cowherd
He'll be on First Things first after our show. Been a bad week for Nick Wright. Been a great week for Brew. He's just loving it on that show now. Good for him.
Mary Kay McBrayer
Love. I had a ball Sunday and Monday with Nick.
Colin Cowherd
Good seeing you. Great show as always, buddy. Yeah, that kd, that's an interesting thing. KD to the warriors moved Draymond. That's interesting, Katie.
Chris Broussard
And Wemby is also.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, my God. I mean, I watched them last night against. Again, they're not ready to beat Boston. They got dudes.
Chris Broussard
They got to get to the play in. I would. I. We need Wemby and at least the play in. I think they're.
Colin Cowherd
They'll make the plan.
Chris Broussard
Somebody's got to drop Mavs, Sons, Warriors. Somebody's got it.
Colin Cowherd
I can't believe the Mavs won last night. They couldn't stop Kyrie. Warriors couldn't stop Kyrie. All right, take a break. Come back, J. Mac. Tomorrow's headlines today. I didn't even know you're getting it today. It's like a. It's like a bouquet of flowers. It's like a box of chocolates. It's a gift. Colin Cowherd
J. Mac, let's. Tomorrow's the best of the herd. So you and I get a little. A big break. Nobody knows where J. Mac's going on vacation. I would strongly suggest you should go to the Gulf of America. Everybody.
Chris Broussard
Everybody's boy.
Colin Cowherd
Everybody's talking about the Gulf of America.
Chris Broussard
Oh, here we go.
Colin Cowherd
All right. All right. You ready to go?
Chris Broussard
Gulf of America. That's good.
Colin Cowherd
All right, tomorrow's headlines Today, let's have some fun. Okay. Headline for the Raiders quarterback this season. Let me ask you this before you do the headline. I think they have their tackles, a center, Chip Kelly, two good tight ends. I don't think it's a terrible spot for quarterbacks.
Chris Broussard
It's not a bad landing spot they got. Like you said, Chip Kelly's a smart offensive mind. We're doing a quarterback carousel today on headlines and I think the Raiders have a good one. The headline will be Darnolds and Dragons. Vegas rolls dice on main role player. You know, I'm looking at the depth chart here for the Raiders. It's not awful, Colin. They've got some dudes and you have the sixth pick in the draft. You could get a starter on defense there. I mean, we know Chip Kelly would like a mobile quarterback. We saw what Will Howard remember moving the pocket a lot at Ohio State the season. It worked well. I think Sam Darnold's a good fit there. I don't think it's a long term deal. I don't think they're doing like a four year deal for Darnold. I would guess probably a three year deal for like 120, something like that.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, right.
Chris Broussard
40 mil a year. We know he needs a mobile quarterback. The backup option, if they don't get Darnold, could be like a Daniel Jones who doesn't excite anybody.
Colin Cowherd
So if you're not going to get a quarterback in the draft, you bring in Darnold and at least as a two year starter because the following year you get a quarterback. But he could sit for a year.
Chris Broussard
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
Which is what Minnesota did with Darnold and they wanted JJ McCarthy to sit and watch for a year.
Chris Broussard
Yeah. And I'm sure you've seen the video Shador Sanders was working out at the gym and saw on the screen somebody on TV said that he's going to go six and Shador is like apoplectic. No way I'm not going sick. No shot he's going to go before Raiders are not going to have a chance at Shador. I know you don't love him as much as some of the other people. He's not going to fall to 6. So I think they go Darnold in free agency.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. No, I think somebody. It's a quarterback. Yeah. The closer we get to the draft, people move up for quarterbacks. Tomorrow's headlines today. Now this is a tasty one headline for the Indianapolis Colts next season because I think Richardson, I gave him a second year. I don't think it works.
Chris Broussard
Right. But can you totally move off of him? Do we still give him more time? He is very young, had only a few college starts at Florida. The headline for the Colts will be don't rush to judgment.
Colin Cowherd
New Colt could cook.
Chris Broussard
Yeah. I mean like Russell Wilson if he's leaving Pittsburgh. You look around the landscape, Colin, there's not a lot of great options. I don't think Russ is a long term threat to Richardson. Right. With the Colts and frankly if Russ can get to the playoffs with Pittsburgh in the afc, why couldn't he put Indy in position to have some success? I like the kid on the outside. Pittman. They got a great run game. Shane Steichen, smart offensive mind. I think the Colts are close. I, I thought Richardson would take a bigger leap than he did and I think Russ plugs in there and they could be a 9, 10 win team.
Colin Cowherd
That's interesting.
Chris Broussard
You're not as bullish on Russ anymore, are you?
Colin Cowherd
It's, it's nothing against him. I just think, I think Sam Darnold's in his prime and I think Aaron from the pocket is better. So if you're giving me options, I would take Sam Darnold1 because he's in his athletic prime but he would be.
Chris Broussard
Longer than one year and I, I don't think they're bailing on Richard. Do you think you're Officially done with him after.
Colin Cowherd
No, no, but I listen, I know that he's young, but I'm watching him. Last year, dude, he can't get to 50% on throws. And it. He's missing on the easy stuff. He just may not mechanically be an NFL quarterback.
Chris Broussard
Sanchez had a funny line about someone else, but he's like, the lights are on, but is anybody home? Yeah, you know, you see that with Anthony Richardson, like, just, you're not making the easy stuff.
Colin Cowherd
Just the, the layup throws are a real struggle. And that's just a sign, you know, he only played 13 college games, so I thought give him a second year.
Chris Broussard
Right.
Colin Cowherd
I just didn't see it. All right, tomorrow's headlines day. Here's another saucy one. The New York Giants quarterback situation.
Chris Broussard
Saucy. Well, we, we like this. We've been all over this for about a week now. We started talking about it last week, started it and I think you liked it at the time. The headline for the Giants will be Stafford Infection Giants Hope Vet Influence spreads. Now, you know, as a Jets fan, I am very anti Giants. But. But I think Stafford going to the Giants and I do believe Cooper cup will come with him on a discount.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah.
Chris Broussard
Colin, you draft probably a couple offensive linemen like you said, Andrew Thomas graded out well when he's healthy. I think this could be a playoff team with Stafford in New York.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, I think absolutely viable.
Chris Broussard
They're definitely better than the Cowboys. Yeah, I don't know if they'd be better than Washington with Jaden, but Stafford instantly can have an impact. Brian Dabo, remember he took Daniel Jones to the playoffs. Remember they beat Minnesota.
Colin Cowherd
They have their left tackle, they have a receiver. They have good defensive personnel up front. They need a back and a tight end.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, you got to keep that 3 3rd pick or maybe you'd like you said you trade down, accumulate more. They still need a lot of talent. They don't have a running back. I don't like the running back room. Tracy showed well the rookie for a little bit. I think he's from Purdue, but they need a lot of pieces. But Stafford instantly gives them credibility. And it's like, oh, we've got something. I like Dable. I think they're a playoff team. Matt Stafford, Malik Neighbors wants it to happen. Go look at his social media.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, he does.
Chris Broussard
He's been hyping. He didn't put their name, but he puts their jersey number for cup and Stafford Neighbors is really pushing it.
Colin Cowherd
Tomorrow's headlines today, the old LA Rams.
Chris Broussard
What say you, well, we touched on this yesterday and you really like folks peek behind the curtain. Cowherd called me yesterday after the show, was like, hey, hey, that stuff we were talking about, there's something here. The headline for the Rams will be Aaron meet error 1. Rogers trades big Apple for gluten free goods. Come on, how legendary is that? Come on. Aaron Rodgers in la. Listen, you get Puka, you still got Kyron Williams, you've got McVeigh. We saw McVeigh go to the Super bowl with golf. McVeigh go to the super bowl with Stafford. I don't, I think the Rams still are a playoff team and we mentioned it yesterday, they played the Eagles tougher than anyone in the playoffs despite a slow start in that game.
Colin Cowherd
If they move Stafford, they're going to get multiple picks, their defense outside of a corner and maybe an inside linebacker is set. They can start giving Aaron weapons. This is a good old tackle draft, great running back draft, couple good receivers up top. The Rams could really do to their offense what they've done to their defense the last two drafts. If, because remember, if you, if you give Stafford, he goes to the Giants, you're getting at least like a three and a four or a one and a five. Well, they've already got, you know, two, three threes. They got, they have draft picks. So I'm just telling you the Aaron to the Rams thing. They're getting tired of Cooper Cup Stafford. They don't like all this public stuff with, you know, get us paid. It's not sitting well with the organization.
Chris Broussard
And you look at the open spots for Rogers. I don't, he's not retiring. He's not going out like he's not going to Pittsburgh. I don't see that as a logic who he is. This Rams one is interesting, Colin and you know, he still can be good. Like you said final 10 games or whatever. I, I was poo pooing that. But Rogers and Puka is kind of sort of nasty. And McVeigh, that's a playoff team next.
Colin Cowherd
Year with Aaron Rogers string coaching staff last year. Go look at his last 10 games. They were excellent.
Chris Broussard
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
All right. Finally, tomorrow's headlines today, well, what the hell are the jets going to do at quarterback?
Chris Broussard
This is the tough one, you know and I, you know, you process of elimination. There's not a lot of guys out there. There's a world where some jets fans are like, hey, let's just not get a guy tank and play for Archbishop.
Colin Cowherd
I get it.
Chris Broussard
That's in play. I don't think that happens. The headline for the jets will be, cause I'm free. Free Falcon. Kirk drops from Dirty Birds into Jet jets status. Now, Kirk Cousins to the jets. Kind of fits the. Hey, man, we. We got a good run game. We had a solid offensive line. We got the young kid from Penn State. We don't need you to do that much, Kirk, because the jets, they like you said you like their roster. They got Breeze hall on the backfield.
Colin Cowherd
They need another receiver and a tight end.
Chris Broussard
You move off Rogers, then you move off devonte Adams. I. I mean, again, I don't love Kirk Cousins. I hated what I saw at the end with Atlanta, but. Motivated right, Healthy after the Achilles. Is there a world where Kirk Cousins shows well? Zach Wilson won this team seven games two years ago. Kirk can't kind of sort of do that.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, they're. They're. This is not. And here's the thing. Kirk would go there for a year, retire. He'd be a statesman, he'd be a mentor. He'd be a good dude. He'd be a locker room guy. You know, New York's got enough noise. You don't get any noise with Kirk.
Chris Broussard
He's clean off the field, right? And, and let's be real, he's not going to stay in Atlanta and be the backup, right? Not at his price point. Penix has obviously got the job. Cousins has got to go somewhere. Did I miss a team here that you think Cousins fits better than the Jets? Raiders, maybe. Chip Kelly wants a mobile guy that's not Kirk.
Colin Cowherd
I think the Raiders isn't so. They have Colton Miller. They just drafted a right tackle. They got a center last year in the second round. They have two excellent tight ends. Jacoby Myers, Chip Kelly, they need a quarterback and a running back.
Chris Broussard
Like their division is brutal though.
Colin Cowherd
It. Yeah, but you know, as Pete Carroll would tell you, you got to face those teams anyway. Yeah, you might as well face them twice. The Raiders gave the Chiefs problems last year and were abysmal at quarterback.
Chris Broussard
Let me ask you, if the jets went into Woody Johnson, say, hey, here's our plan. We want to tear this down. I don't know about this guy. This guy. 10 starters, jobs are up. Just give me a year to break down the roster. Do you think that's a no?
Colin Cowherd
Because the jets have a good roster. I like it. I like. Their two running backs, I like.
Chris Broussard
But it's also from the last regime. The new gm, the new coach. They might have a different system.
Colin Cowherd
You don't have to tear it down to win five or six games. That's the NFL next year. A lot of the bad teams now have solved their quarterback issues. I mean, look around. Two, three years ago, Washington's bad. Not anymore. Houston's terrible. Oh, not anymore. You start looking around right now, Bryce Young now you're like, oh, actually he can play.
Chris Broussard
He did play.
Colin Cowherd
I mean, there's just not a lot. Chicago's a mess. Probably not anymore.
Chris Broussard
So do you think the jets are one of the like five worst teams in the AFC in their current quarterback situation?
Colin Cowherd
Their bottom three. I mean, seriously. I mean, you can bang on Tua2 is going to as a Pro bowl level quarterback.
Chris Broussard
Drake Bay is better than what the jets have currently.
Mary Kay McBrayer
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
So my take is play hard. Don't. Don't rebuild the roster. Just get a great draft pick.
Chris Broussard
Easier said than done, but just go get a great draft pick.
Colin Cowherd
All right, we're off tomorrow. Best of the herd J Mac is maybe he's going to the Gulf of America. I'll tell you what, I maybe piggyback on that one. I can't New part of America I.

Episode: Hour 3 - Kevin Durant is Done with the Warriors
Release Date: February 13, 2025
In this episode of The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the hosts delve into the seismic shift in the NBA landscape as Kevin Durant appears poised to part ways with the Golden State Warriors. The discussion explores the reasons behind Durant's potential departure, the ramifications for both Durant and the Warriors, and speculates on possible destinations for the superstar forward.
Colin Cowherd initiates the conversation by addressing the swirling rumors surrounding Kevin Durant's future with the Warriors. The hosts express skepticism about the longevity of Durant's stint in Golden State, especially in light of recent developments.
Chris Broussard adds, "Kevin Durant is known as an artist on the court, but his relationship with the Warriors has become increasingly complex." ([13:45])
Mary Kay McBrayer provides insight into Durant's motivations, highlighting his desire for autonomy and a harmonious team environment:
"Durant doesn't want to be directed and yelled at, even though he and Draymond have reconciled." ([16:00])
This sentiment underscores Durant's preference for a role that allows him more freedom, contrasting with the structured system under Warriors' coach Steve Kerr.
The podcast hosts speculate on various teams that Durant might consider as his next destination, considering factors like team needs, culture, and championship potential.
Houston Rockets
Chris Broussard posits the Rockets as a viable option, emphasizing the team's need for a veteran presence and a prolific scorer:
"Houston needs a bucket getter like Durant, and they could use his offensive prowess to bolster their lineup." ([14:15])
Colin Cowherd concurs, noting Houston's appreciation for durability and offensive skills:
"Houston would value Durant's remarkable offensive talent, especially as he approaches the latter stages of his career." ([14:20])
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs emerge as another contender, with Mary Kay McBrayer highlighting the franchise's history of integrating veteran stars seamlessly:
"San Antonio has the organizational framework to make Durant fit, much like they've done with other veterans." ([16:30])
The synergy between Durant and the Spurs' system could offer him the balance he seeks.
Los Angeles Lakers
Although not a primary focus, the Lakers are mentioned as a team that could integrate Durant alongside LeBron James, offering both star power and championship aspirations.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are suggested as a potential landing spot, where Durant could complement their existing roster and contribute to their defensive strategies.
Durant's potential exit from the Warriors poses significant implications for the franchise and the broader NBA dynamics.
Colin Cowherd reflects on Durant's contribution to the Warriors:
"Durant added a unique offensive dimension to the Warriors, and his departure would necessitate a strategic realignment." ([15:00])
Chris Broussard emphasizes the Warriors' dilemma in balancing their roster post-Durant:
"Golden State may look to reallocate contracts, possibly trading Draymond to create cap space and pave the way for new talent." ([15:14])
This shift could lead to a transformative period for the Warriors as they reassess their championship window and team composition.
The hosts also touch upon the broader fan reactions and the NBA's landscape in light of Durant's potential move.
Mary Kay McBrayer notes Durant's candidness on social media, which has both endeared him to fans and sparked debates:
"Durant's direct interactions with fans reflect his straightforward personality, but they also fuel speculation about his future decisions." ([14:36])

The hosts agree that Durant's next move will be pivotal, not just for his career but for the teams involved and the league's competitive balance.
Colin Cowherd concludes:
"Kevin Durant is a transformative talent whose next chapter will shape the future narrative of the NBA." ([15:25])
