Yeah, the story broke a year ago with our show, but then it broke yesterday with Seth Wickersham at espn, who's very credible source that basically, you know, Caleb Williams came out and just he and his dad were ready to sort of, as Seth Wickersham said, you know, there was gas everywhere and, and Caleb just wasn't willing to throw the match into it. So he said, no, I want to go. But you know, and I know having kind of broke this story a year ago, that I know it was tough. I know all the concerns I heard through somebody very close, somebody at usc, somebody very close to Caleb, somebody in the legal representation world is that there were concerns and this was being discussed and they were. And this is why I defended him at the time. I don't blame him. I mean, look, we've looked at this organization, look at the jets. How many coaches and GMs have the jets and the Giants run through. I mean before Demico Ryan's and you know, C.J. stroud, that was a laughingstock in Houston. Look at, look at Dan Snyder in Washington. They were a mess for 20 years. Some of these organizations are just, the organizations are tools and toys for billionaires. I mean, Cleveland, Johnny Manziel, Deshaun Watson, you know, Chicago drafted Mitch Trubisky. I can remember when Chicago drafted Mitch Trubisky, I remember saying this on the show. I remember it very well. Greg Cosell said, I want you to watch before the draft, Mitch Trubisky. And it was, it was during the college season. He said, Mitch Trubisky is getting a lot of love about getting being first round pick. And I watched it and I said, I just don't feel like that's a first round quarterback. Like you can see it really quickly. Like I said this, I just, Quinn, yours to me is not a first round quarterback. I just, I don't see it. Jackson darts good. I don't think he's a first round quarterback. I said it's about Daniel Jones. I said it about Zach Wilson. You know, I always said I thought Baker wasn't, I wouldn't draft Baker, but I thought he was a big time quarterback talent, not a number one pick, but really good. And so all this stuff that I had reported last year, it's not surprising. And Danny Parkins, who was a longtime, very popular, successful radio host in Chicago for years before FS1 hired him. He talked about that report that came out yesterday from Seth Wickersham. The thing about it was that all of the concerns Colin ended up being justified. They fired Shane Waldron nine games into the year. And Caleb Williams said he was watching film alone and had never been taught how to watch film. So it explains why it was such a disaster last season. Caleb Williams is going to be very high, high up on those lists of who's under the most pressure to perform this year. Because you can look at the Bears roster and say, okay, kid, time's yours. Like, what do the Bears not have at this point? They've done everything right after sabotaging his rookie year. So Arch Manning is going to go through some of this next year, is that. You know, I was just reading a story this morning when I got up, or last night as I was watching some Nuggets okc as I was doing some reading. And, you know, Arch Manning has put on weight, cleaned up some mechanics, not like they were bad to begin with. You know, one of the criticisms of Arch Manning is, hey, slide, learn to slide. You're taking hits. Which is always a pretty good criticism if you're making yards on your own and AD living off script. But, you know, I think Albert Breyer, a couple days ago, yesterday, actually, I asked him about this report that came out by Seth Wickersham on Caleb. His dad's a very smart and accomplished businessman and, you know, taught his son to think differently. And the reality is, like, this is something that all teams were looking into, and anybody that was going to be in a position to draft him was concerned about this.
Jason McIntyre
You can understand his concern, certainly.
Colin Cowherd
You know, I think this is something that more and more athletes think about. And, you know, it's something we heard about with Shador a lot, you know, going into his draft.
Jason McIntyre
A lot of times, you know, I.
Colin Cowherd
Think these guys are able to take a bigger picture view of it, and the bigger picture view of it would show that going to the right place isn't more. Is absolutely more important than the getting drafted as high as you can. Now the pressure because of Ben Johnson and Joe Tuney and DJ Moore and getting a second tight end Loveland for Michigan because Drew Dallman, Jonah Jackson, because of all these moves, the pressure now is on Caleb Williams. And I said, this is once you get the right coach. And I'm. I'm thinking Ben Johnson's the right coach. Caleb Williams should be really good really quickly. I mean, Jaden Daniels had a weak O line, okay, and was really good by late September. So now I do think the Bears O line will take maybe to Thanksgiving to get it right. And I think yesterday Ben Johnson said, you know, he said, I the pass blocking will be fine, the run blocking takes time, but pass blocking, it'll be a good O line very quickly. So I do think the Bears offense will grow over the season cohesion O line. But the pressure now is on Caleb and he has been inaccurate. Now last year he doesn't throw a ton of picks. He didn't at usc. He's a playmaker, we know that. He's got a big arm. He only had six picks last year, holds the ball a little long. He completed 62 and a half percent of his throws. You probably want to get that closer to 64, 65%. He's never going to throw a ton of interceptions. But you got to, you got to be good early. It didn't take long for us to look at Bo Nix and go, oh, that's going to work. Is he going to be great? I don't know. That's going to work. It didn't take long with a bad roster for us to look at Drake May and go, he's really good. It didn't take us long to look at Jaden Daniels and go, oh, that's Lamar Jackson. Better thrower, not quite the runner. That's Lamar Jackson. So if you go back Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow most of the time once you get the right coach, once Goff got McVeigh, go back to September of golf, second year, you were like, oh yeah, yeah, he spins it. Six, four and a half, super accurate, tough get. He spins it. Once you get the right coach, three or four games. We should see significant improvement by Caleb Williams. I pushed back on all the Bears stuff last year. I had them finishing fourth. In fact, I said going into last year, I said, I think there'll be more promise. But don't be shocked if they don't win any more games from the previous year. I mean their coaches on the hot seat, three game losing streak, it's going to blow it up. It's going to be a mess. I think they're a 9 to a 10 win team. I don't think they're a 12 win team. I think the division's too good and the schedule is too tough. Jason McIntyre
No, turn on the news.
Colin Cowherd
This is the Herd line news.
Jason McIntyre
All right, Colin, let's start with the Raiders, their new head coach, Pete Carroll. Obviously he had a great tenure in Seattle and he was asked about how it ended. Carroll said after running the Seahawks for 13 years, it was time for someone else to step in. We were about to face one of.
Colin Cowherd
The bigger changes, shifts in the time.
Jason McIntyre
Of the program and I had really been dedicated as John had been dedicated to John Snyder, to doing this thing.
Colin Cowherd
In great fashion together. And we had done that, I thought and it was really John's turn, it.
Jason McIntyre
Was his turn to take over and I know I had been had the.
Colin Cowherd
Lead voice and all of that all through that time and I was really hoping that John could become the general manager of the club and run it.
Jason McIntyre
You seem like his new team, the Raiders. Pete, you know, again we talked about guys who are in their 70s coaching. Is there, is there an opportunity for Pete Carroll to do some damage here in the AFC West?
Colin Cowherd
Well, Bill, the Raiders were bad at quarterback and they I thought Antonio Pierce was a really good motivator. I thought he was a really good Motivator. He didn't have much to work with. But they've made changes. Gm, coach, quarterback, offensive coordinator. They're going to be a really good team. They gave last year bad at quarterback. Gave Kansas City real problems. So I think, I mean, I'm honest, I. I think every team in this division is winning minimum eight games. I think, I think it's the best division in football. It's easily the best coach division in football. I think it's the best. I think it's the best division in football by a margin because I don't think the Raiders O line is set. Got a star back. OC head coach. They're probably. They have a weapon. He's a tight end. I think they're probably. And their defense wasn't terrible last year. It was all banged up. I, I think they're probably a defensive tackle and one more receiver away. I think they're a pretty decent roster. I really do. I think the Raiders have players.
Jason McIntyre
Wait, wait. Away from what? Like a wild card contention or like.
Colin Cowherd
Winning away from a wild card? You think they're as good as Denver or the Chargers or the Chiefs? I don't think their personnel is, but if you told me they beat each one of those teams once. If they knocked off the Chargers, the Chiefs and the Broncos, if they knocked them off, they, they split the series would. In fact, I kind of think that's what's going to happen.
Jason McIntyre
It's not bad. You know, a lot of people like when we go back and forth on stuff, you keep saying AFC west is the best division. I don't know. NFC north, we need to do a tale of the tape, coaches, quarterbacks, because I think NFC north has a slight edge. By the way we talked yesterday, NFL scheduling folks love the NFC North. They got a lot of primetime games. Obviously some of that is location in the country and market size. But yeah, we'll see on the Raiders. Seven wins. Is that reasonable? Seven, Eight.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, I would bet. What's their over under if it's seven and a half? I would probably. Yeah, I probably wouldn't bet it either way because I think. I think it's going to be eight or seven. But I. There'll be a. Again, I said this last year when Minnesota was predicted to be in fourth place. I said if Minnesota finishes fourth, I said this last year it'll be the best fourth place team easily in the league. If the Raiders finish fourth, it will easily be the best fourth place team in the NFL by a long shot.
Jason McIntyre
All right, next up is Forbes Released its list of highest paid athletes in 2025. Colin, this list is a little surprising. I mean, obviously not at the top. Cristiano Ronaldo, number one, 275 miles. But oh my gosh, can you believe Dak Prescott is number four on the list? That I was blown away by that.
Colin Cowherd
How Does Derek make 137 million? I mean, I know he's making 60 from the Cowboys, but off the field, signing bonus.
Jason McIntyre
Signing bonus, but also off the field. Man, you're the quarterback of the Cowboys. You are raking in the marketing dope. I just am shocked that he's making more than like, you know, LeBron and Messi. But that's the power of the Dallas Cowboys, who you say I believe is no longer the America's team.
Colin Cowherd
They are tied for the third most watched team. I think they will fill. They'll fall to fourth or fifth most watched team this year. Yeah.
Jason McIntyre
How about a lot of soccer on the list. Surprising boxer on there, obviously, Kevin Durant. Anything else jump out to you? No.
Colin Cowherd
I mean Dak Prescott, the signing bonus, every everybody else. You know, again, Ohtani, all his money's deferred.
Jason McIntyre
Yes.
Colin Cowherd
Ohtani is going to be making, you know, he's going to be making 100 million doll.
Jason McIntyre
Smart man. Final story, Colin, is Juan Soto was a Yankee star last season. Now he's with the Mets. He's getting ready for the first Subway series of his Mets career. Soto says he's excited for what the Yankee crowd does upon his arrival, adding, it's going to be 50,000 against one when he gets to the Bronx. Now, Soto has had a good career against the Yankees. Nine games, five homers, 1.274 OPS. Subway Series should be a good one this weekend in Major League Baseball. It's a great sports weekend. We got a Game 6 tonight in NBA Game 7 Sunday, WNBA starts and the Subway Series.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. I mean, the football's in the tank in New York, so why not? I think generally baseball is like golf. You don't want your sport to get into your head. Like in, in hockey, you know, the game is so fast. In the NFL you got another pass if you have. You don't go in a lot. You don't see a lot of quarterbacks going to slumps. You know, you don't see a lot of hockey players go into slumps. You don't see a lot of basketball players go into prolonged slumps. You see golfers and you see baseball players because there's so much time in between shots or at bats. Stuff gets in your head. I'm interested to watch as a villain Soto going back to the Bronx, seeing how well he performed. Baseball and golf are tricky. You can, you can get, you can start overthinking stuff and plummet.
Jason McIntyre
Yeah. I know you were QB1 and a basketball star in high school. I am curious, did you ever play baseball? I don't know if you've talked much about.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah but I know at the small level but I mean we have history of great players struggling, great all time baseball players struggling and we've got a lot of golfers. I mean I can remember like it was David Duvall was the number golfer 1. Number one golfer in the world. Like then he wasn't around so. And you just have you. I mean you saw it with Rory McElroy got great players have bad holes. There's a certain inertia to struggling in certain sports and it's almost always the sport where you have a long time to think about your activity before your activity. J. Mack with the news. Well, that's the news and thanks for stopping by the herd lie news. I was looking at this. So Ryan Clark who works at the other Place said Mike Tomlin should be able to call his own shot which the Steelers don't fire coaches. So that's what's going to happen. And I've said Mike Tomlin would get a TV job at Fox or CBS in 15 minutes. He'd be great on TV. I think he's a good coach. I just, I think he needs an organization that is, I'm not saying hold him accountable but kind of force the issue offensively because clearly he's such a defensive guy. They take way too many red flag guys on the offensive side and they never work long term. And again, not saying a bad coach but I think just to have no urgency at quarterback. This is, and I said this criticism of. I forget the coach in Washington a few years ago did a defensive coach was Ron, Ron Rivera. I said coach, you got to care more about quarterback. Like, like the. Andy Reid's moving off Alex Smith, you know, McVeigh's moving off Goff who was in a Super Bowl. Shanahan's moving off like Jimmy Garoppolo who's in a Super Bowl. These defensive coaches, that's kind of a casual approach to the quarterback position and they're crossing their fingers on Aaron Rodgers. But I, I will say this. The one thing that plays into a strength for the Steelers, if you're going to be bad, next year's the year to be bad. Because you're going to have Arch Manning, Drew Aller at Penn State. I just looked at a mock draft a couple days ago there. The kid at Clemson there looks like four or maybe five potential first round quarterbacks. And there is a saturation point in the league. The Rams want a quarterback in the first round but they're not going to give up the farm to get it because they want Stafford to play minimum two years and he's got a fairly team friendly contract. So they would love to get a quarterback but they're not going to give up multiple firsts to get a quarterback next year. It's not an urgency. Cleveland needs a quarterback. Although I'll argue that Shador Sanders is better than maybe, you know, you're going to have to deal with some noise with Shador Sanders, but I actually think he's a, he's, he'll be eventually, by the end of the year the best quarterback they have. I really believe that over Joe Flacco. So there's a saturation point. There aren't many teams that need a quarterback now. I mean, the jets may. If Bryce Young continues to improve, will Carolina go get another quarterback? Not a lot of them out there. I mean, Atlanta got check. New England, check. Washington, check. Chicago, check. Green Bay, Jordan Love. Check again. Rams would like one. They could draft one in the third and just be fine. All right, tomorrow's headlines today with J. Well, there are few things J. Mac and I love more than future bets in the NFL and college football. But in the NFL where you for those the uninitiated here basically DraftKings, for instance, gives you every NFL team and they give you a half, six and a half, seven and a half, eight and a half, nine and a half and you have to bet over or under. Now fans tend to be optimistic and bet the overs where I think the Unders hit it like 55 or 60%. I've told you I think New England is one of my overs this year. I think New England's my safest over. I think they're going to double their win total. I think Drake May and Vrabel, I think he found his coach and I thought it was really one of the more poorly coached teams in the league last year combined with a really weak roster. But they spent a ton of money. So it's just a celebration of the NFL schedule release and all things future bets, which I love. We should do a future bet show here coming up. Like spend some real time on it. It's time for tomorrow's headlines today. Take your time on these. The headline for the CH Chiefs and that brutal schedule next season.
Jason McIntyre
Well, you know, listen, Chiefs fans have not been a fan of my work since I've been on the show. Obviously we've taken some shots. They've been great. However, the downfall has begun. The headline for the Chiefs will be black tie choptional Chiefs make formal introduction to 500 Club. Sorry, guys. Listen, Colin. And there's a lot of evidence out here that this is going to be a tough season for Casey. Yeah, I know. Let's get this out of the way early. Yes. They have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Great. They're back. Awesome. What about the rest of the team? What about the schedule? Colin, Their offensive line was embarrassed in the Super Bowl. Okay. I don't know that it improved just because they got a backup left tackle from the San Francisco 49ers. Like, I just don't see the offensive line improvement. I have questions about the skill, position, players. Wide receiver was an issue last year. No. Rasheed Rice, Is he back? What's his situation? And listen, we all love Travis Kelce. He's dating Taylor Swift. He's got a podcast, Rah, rah rah. The reality is he was not good last year. Had his worst season as a pro since his rookie year. And in the playoffs, Colin, he vanished. I didn't even get to the schedule yet. They have a brutal schedule littered with primetime games. Everybody in the AFC got better. I mean the Buffalo Bills are stacked. They got an easy schedule. I'm just calling. A lot adds up here to the potential for a eight or nine win team. And I know because that hasn't happened, Colin. People can't envision it. You know, nothing lasts forever. We know that.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, I mean McVeigh had a bad season a couple years ago, right After a couple years after super bowl like it things. This league is pretty cruel. You get old fast. Tomorrow's headlines today, a team I think I picked the Bills to win the super bowl last year. What do you think of the Bills this year?
Jason McIntyre
Close on that one. Couple refs got in the way in the. In the playoffs. Just kidding. Yes, obviously I like the Bills a lot. My problem is I'm a Jets fan, so I. I'm conditioned to not like Buffalo. However, this is the year bet the over. The headline will be Alan Wrenched. Josh Screws with Odds Titans Grip on afc. Colin, I believe the Buffalo Bills are the best team in the NFL right now. Their schedule is extremely favorable. All their tough games are at home. Colin and I got some numbers that are going to make some people blush here at home. Buffalo kind of decent. 265 including playoff games the last three years, including 100 last year at home. And everybody that tough that they play this year comes to Orchard Park. Things are lined up for Buffalo to not only win the AFC east, but get home field advantage in the playoffs. And if it has to go through Buffalo, I don't like anyone's chances of going there and getting the win. Josh Allen is set up. Colin, find me the weakness on the Buffalo Bills because that's what I was trying to do last night. I'm like, where are they deficient? I don't see it. They're strong in the trenches or their left tackle. Dion Dawkins comes on this show often. I'm trying to find a kryptonite and there really isn't one. Josh Allen is at the height of his powers, borderline unstoppable. I like Buffalo to go over their win total and actually win the super bowl next year.
Colin Cowherd
Tomorrow's headlines today, how about the Lions as their division continues to improve?
Jason McIntyre
Yeah, you hit the nail on the head there. The division continues to improve is Detroit. I think that's a big question. As such, the headline will be bite sized kneecaps now just being nibbled. Sorry, Dan Campbell. I do not love the Lions this year schedule is somewhat daunting. A lot of outdoor games. They are early, so they could possibly weather that. Yes, you like the pun on weather, but I looked around this division, Colin, and nobody had the brain drain that Detroit did. They lose their offensive coordinator who's now with you in Chicago and they lose Aaron Glenn, who's now in New York. Those were two of the most highly thought of coordinators around the league. Last year. They were excellent and now they're both gone. And you've talked a lot about replacing guys. Do you get someone from in the building? Do you go outside? We've seen Philadelphia go outside to bring in offensive coordinators and it's been a little bit clunky. Obviously, golf is excellent. The offensive line is superb. Maybe the Best unit in the league. But I look at the division. Chicago undeniably got better. Green Bay I think got a little better on the offensive side of the football. And you know, I'm all in on Minnesota and JJ McCarthy. So unfortunately I have the Lions going under their win total. And Colin, the more we get into August, I think you got to really look at this team possibly missing the playoffs as the NFC got very tough in the off season.
Colin Cowherd
Well, I still like their O line in their front office, so I'll take them as a playoff team. Tomorrow's headlines today, the Niners and their bakery. Their. Their cupcake conveyor belt of a schedule. What say you?
Jason McIntyre
You know, you're the one who always told me never take calls when you're. I had a radio show many years ago, don't ever take calls. Listen, man, the audience is speaking. They love how you hate the Niners, so I'm going all in. The headline for the 49ers will be revenge of the Purge. Niners praise pocket protectors. Colin, this schedule is so easy. You look at the top six quarterbacks in the league. I said five yesterday. I added if you want to go Herbert, six. They don't face a top six quarterback in the league this season. It is absolutely cake. A cakewalk. Colin, I know you're not going to like this, but things are lining up for the Niners to be the number one seed in the NFC just based on the schedule, you know, and home field advantage. Again, the Purdy thing, we could talk about it at nauseum. It's still not signed, but there's no drama around Brock Purdy. Right? There's been more drama around Caleb Williams here in the last 48 hours than there has been around Brock Purdy at all. I know he wasn't great last year. CMAC back and healthy. Okay. Ricky Pearsall looks like he's going to be healthy this season. The defense had a lot of changes, but Robert Saleh back as defensive coordinator. I like that a lot. And Kyle Shanahan has talked. If you read some of his quotes, Colin get. Get really granular. It sounds like he's going to change the offense because they've become a little predictable and I think they're going to go more. Two tight end sets and they're going to look a little different. Colin, this is a 13 win team. Start to come to grips with it. Brock Purdy is going to be an MVP candidate. The Niners are going to hit their win total and keep an eye on them going back to The Super Bowl.
Colin Cowherd
Tomorrow's headlines today. Finally, the last future bet. The Patriots and Mike Vrabel.
Jason McIntyre
I say this all the time as the jets guy. I do not like the Patriots. I could not stand the dynasty. But man, they've got something cooking in New England. The headline will be when Drake may hits his guy like a Z or the yellow pet Samorai. Yeah, they're going to be good this year. Seven and a half is the win totals we talked about earlier. Yeah, Colin, based on the schedule. I mean you, you want some good news if you're a Patriots fan. They open with Vegas at Miami vs. Pittsburgh. Carolina, New Orleans. Throw in a little Tennessee and Cleveland. Colin, all those teams have win totals that are. That are below.500. It looks good for them. New England could start of their first eight games. Seven of them are winnable. There's a world where New England comes out of the gate. Six and two, five and threes didn't play. Listen, I don't like to give you credit all the time. Obviously it's the Colin Cowherd show. He's the man. Yo, you nailed this with the New England Patriots. This is a playoff team in the, in the loaded afc. I mean the roster, they spent a lot. I thought the draft was solid. Colin, you. You match up their roster with the Bengals roster. Roster. Okay, you tell me who's got a better roster. I, I don't think the Patriots are far off from. From being like a legit. Oh my gosh, could this team come out of the afc?
Colin Cowherd
We did something yesterday and I said we. We called it our math. Right. Like if you look at the difference between Nathaniel Hackett and Sean Payton, it was probably a touchdown like, like from a coach who's at best is a coordinator, probably a position coach to a great head coach. Gerard Mayo was a bit over his skis, right? Never been a head coach. To Vrabel who's a top 10 coach. I think minimum that's a field goal. If you add a point to a point and a half for 11 draft picks, $370 million in free agency and Drake may year one to year two. I could add another half point for the weakest schedule outside of the Niners in the league. It's very realistic to think they're six and a half to seven points better this year that that, that. I mean Denver was just that on the coaching between Hackett and Peyton.
Jason McIntyre
That's a good point.
Colin Cowherd
If they're six and a half to seven points better if they were last year, they would have won 10 games, much better roster this year. And I also think the jets will be weaker because they won't have Aaron Rodgers. And I think Miami will be weaker because I think they're trending backwards. So I, I, I, I don't know, I just think New England's kind of an easy play for me. You know, I was thinking about this, I was thinking about this. So New York sports has had a, a really dry run and tonight the Knicks obviously are hosting with Celtics with a chance to wrap it up. And Juan Soto is going back to play against as a Met going back Metro good team right now going back to play the Yankees where he was formerly a star. And one of the things about the NFL, the NBA is a bit of a glamour league. New York's a glamour city, finally got its NBA act together. New York baseball is a money sport. I mean you got more money, you can buy better players. Well, New York's one of our richest cities. So in New York and in basketball, New York's in a really good space. Football market size is irrelevant. Glamor is irrelevant. I mean Baltimore, Green Bay, Kansas City, Buffalo, it's can you draft the right quarterback and can you find the right coach? So New York's in the toilet for football, but money, they're fine. And basketball, finally a glamour sport. They've, they've assembled a really good roster. Here's Jalen Brunson on game six tonight. And the Celtics not having their best player inarguably. Jason Tatum. Yes, they're missing a big piece but like I said before, I mean they're a team, a will torn machine that.
Jason McIntyre
Has been in situations where they play.
Colin Cowherd
Without them and so, and they've played.
Jason McIntyre
Well and we need to understand that.
Colin Cowherd
And we need to, I mean, trust the game plan and play accordingly. It's that simple. Yeah. Well the good news, you usually get a slightly friendlier whistle at home and the NBA is allowing much more physicality so that, that bodes well. Celtics however, are a weird team, a much better all year long, a much better road team than a home team. And I've said this is a weird NBA champion. Like their star player isn't the MVP of the conference finals or the finals last year. Their star player is like overly collaborative at times. Their net rating is better. They're 17 and three when their best player doesn't play. And they're also better on the road. So they're, they're a funky, a weird championship team. Jalen Brown on having to carry more of the load without Jason Tatum just.
Jason McIntyre
Be, you know, be who I am. And I think that's it. You know, just be, be myself, come out, be aggressive and you know, get it done in multiple ways. You know, it's a team. We're all, we've always been a team. I've always preached team.
Colin Cowherd
I've done whatever, you know, to kind.
Jason McIntyre
Of push this team forward. So whatever is needed of me, you know, I'm excited to be able to, you know, facilitate in whatever role.
Colin Cowherd
So it's interesting. You would think a defending NBA champion with a huge brand, the Boston Celtics, would be better for the league to win, but I find Jalen Brunson so incredibly easy to root for. The Knicks crowd, which is, you know, it's like the old Laker crowds with Jackson Nicholson, like there's stars everywhere that I think and I know New York's a bigger city, but New York doesn't really matter necessarily in the NFL. I don't think that is the be all, end all rating market size in the NBA. But I do think this is the rare moment when the underdog in the series without like a I mean, Jalen Brunson's huge in New York, but he's not a top four or five marquee star. I think the Knicks are an easier watch. I think they're more fun, I think they're grittier, they're tougher. I think the New York crowd matters. I think the league's better off if Knicks win tonight. I really do.
