Played in the NFL for 13 seasons. Baldi's breakdowns are so good on the Internet. NFL Network as well. Made the playoffs three times. Here's what that Cowboy team that reached the NFC championship back in 82, Brian Balding are our friends joining us live. So I said this, I, I, I McCaffrey touching the ball 27 times is, to me, it's just way too much. I don't like it at all. And I also think running back's the only position now in football you can hit from any angle anywhere, anytime. What did you make of not pulling him? He had eight carries and eight touches in the fourth. What did you make of not taking.
Brian Baldinger
Him out, especially up 14 points like they were? Colin I mean, he's got 372 touches so far this year. Wow. He's still got two games to go, but you know, his longest run of the year, Troy Aikman mentioned it last night. 24 yards in the fourth quarter. Like, he seems like he loves it. He, he bounces up off the ground. I know last year he had the injured year and he had the Achilles issues and he only had 50 carries last year. So maybe he's a lot fresher this year. But I don't think he wants to come out of these games. But I, if I was Kyle, I would, I would take him out of these games. When you have these, these games, I'd save them for the postseason, get him as fresh as possible for the postseason. He's going to get 2,000 yards. He's going to get 100 catches. He's going to get over 400 touches. That's a lot for any running back, especially one that has done that already in his career.
Colin Cowherd
Are you surprised by Philip Rivers?
Brian Baldinger
Yes, I am. However, you know, this thing right here, this, this brain of his, the arm obviously has diminished. He's never run away from anybody in this Business, but he can still breach it with his brain. He still knows how to diagnose the defense. I thought it was great last night where they had everybody mic'd up. You could hear all the checks, all the signals, you know, getting the. The clear outs on third down to Josh Downs, the touchdown to Alec Pierce, like, he could still carve you up. And I thought he's probably the envy of every offensive coordinator at every level because of what he can do at the line of scrimmage and what he sees and. And what he can do to manipulate your defense right now.
Colin Cowherd
The. You know, it. It's interesting. I'm. I'm watching the Cowboys with George Pickens and. And Flourney has become a really nice little player for them. CD Lamb's obviously great in your 13 years and you played in Dallas. Listen, wide receiver, DK Metcalf, Puka Nuku got in trouble. It's a very expressive position. I would say the offensive line is really a unit. You guys could go camping together. Like, it's a real unit. Wide receiver is a little bit of an NBA player. It's like, hey, give me the ball. I'm going to break a guy down. Like, I get it. It's an expressive, almost artistic position. What do you do with George Pickens? Because he's a matchup issue. But I look at that position, Brian, and College furnishes the NFL with about 15 receivers a year that can play. What do you do with George Pickens?
Brian Baldinger
Man, I would try to sign him if I could. I mean, you know, you got it like Philadelphia figured it out to sign AJ Brown, to sign Saquon, to sign Devonte Smith, Dallas Goddard, they got everybody signed. They haven't had an X receiver, a guy opposite the tight end like George Pickens in forever. And so they've always had a great ex, you know, whether it was Michael Irvin or DEZ Bryant or going back to Drew Pearson. And I feel like that's what Pickens is. He's, you know, he should probably wear number 88 in that offense, but CD gets that. I feel like they still need him. I know it's. It's a disappointing season, but he's been a big reason why you want to watch the Cowboys, because of his ability just to, you know, be so acrobatic with the ball in the air and then do great stuff with it after the catch.
Colin Cowherd
Did you ever play a team in your career or were you with a team like the Chicago Bears that can get outplayed for three quarters? But there is A magical thing. I mean, getting onside kicks, you know, getting fumble Recoveries at the 2. Did you ever have an experience where almost Tebow did this for about a year where you're like, the football gods are in our favor?
Brian Baldinger
I don't. I don't think I played. I mean, in Philadelphia we had a team, but we were built around defense when I was in Philly and once the playoff games there. But what the Chicago is doing, I mean, they lead the league in takeaways by a big margin right now. And you know, whether it could be a fumbled snap from the center like Green Bay did and they recovered the fumble, or like Washington did at the end of that game where Jaden Daniels fumbled the handoff and they recovered it and won the game. That seemed to be the trigger point for this team. But it's also something about this team where they're never out of it. And so a lot of that is coaching and a mentality that they have. But some of the guys that are on that defense. Kevin Byard is going to lead this league in interceptions. He's done it before. Yeah, you look at Chelsea, Gardner, Johnson, that guy is a thief and he's always has been. And so some of those guys are natural in the. Sean, right, you know, came, you know, from Dallas and like, he. He knows how to really play that position. He's beating out Jalen Johnson and. And so I feel like as long as they keep taking the ball away like they do and give an extra advance to the offense, they might have a chance to pull off some more of these victories like we have watched.
Colin Cowherd
So I watched Philadelphia manhandle Washington and really run the ball. They looked like last year's team. And Washington is not very good defensively. But it is interesting. There are certain players. There's a stat on George Kittle. This is remarkable. San Francisco has a losing record the last two years when he doesn't play, and he's worth a touchdown this year to the offense. And I think a lot of it's his blocking and Lane Johnson's a right tackle. They're not the same offense, is it? I mean, is it intellect? Is it toughness? Kittle, Lane, John. We don't look at tight ends and right tackles as a touchdown, but there is something about those players, and I'm not exactly sure what it is. They're different when they play than when they. Not when they don't.
Brian Baldinger
Well, I mean, Lane is unbeatable, honestly. Like, I'm good friends with them. I see him all the time. Work out in his backyard at his barn. But he's unbeatable. Nobody's beaten him this year. I mean, when they would play Dallas with Micah Parsons, Mike can never beat him. You know, he just. He just pitches a shutout at right tackles. You never give him any help. You never have to slide, protect. You never have to keep the back end to help him out. And so the offense is a little bit more aggressive when he's in there. The quarterback likes to hold the ball to begin with. It's not a knock on Jalen hurts. It's what he is. But he gets an extra tick when Lane is in on the offense and he's got another chance to either run with it or make a throw down the field. Lane gives you that opportunity. And then I think when you go in the huddle and Lane Johnson's at right tackle, you just feel like you've got the best tackle in all of football and you're going to. You're supposed to be good. You're supposed to make these plays. And I think he gives that whole team, including the coaching staff, another level of confidence when he's out there.
Colin Cowherd
Okay, so you watch a lot of film. And I. And I suggested something last week. I said, listen, when you're a bad team, Brian, you have to consider everything. Free agency, draft, trade deadline. You have to have meetings with everything. And so I said, if Fernando Mendoza looks great in his next three starts for Indiana and he goes up against Bama and he's just up and down the field, and Jackson Dart has absolutely in his last four starts, defensive coordinators have a little tape now, and he's not quite the same guy. Now, it may be scattered, maybe other reasons. He's obviously got some talent. But don't you have to consider that you can restart the clock even though it's only a year? If Fernando Mendoza is blowing through these SEC teams in Ohio State again, don't you have to consider drafting him even though you just drafted Jackson Dart?
Brian Baldinger
Well, I mean, there might be a whole new regime in New York. You know, maybe Joe Shane isn't there next year, and so the new general manager might get a chance to go get their Joe Burrow if Fernando is that. I don't know yet. None of us know. But, I mean, Jackson Dart's got real skills now. Like, the talent around him is awful. I mean, I like to see a receiver that could actually catch the ball rather than dropping it like Theo does right there. I mean, he's dropped a couple of them that led to interceptions I didn't think he saw the field particularly well against Brian Flores and some of the things that the Vikings were doing on Sunday against those split zero looks of his. But I also don't think that they prepared him very well for it either. And so coaching matters in his business. Just look at Caleb right now with Ben Johnson, the difference that he is this year. I'd like to see, I'd like to see this kid Jackson dart with a really good coach and a team that can build around him. And I think they're going to be okay with them. Maybe better than okay. I think he's got a chance to flourish. But to answer your question, should you consider Fernando Mendoza? Absolutely. You got to look at everything in every position you look at. When the the Chargers drafted Philip Rivers, they had Drew Brees there. We didn't know that Drew Brees going to be a Hall of Fame quarterback, but they had a starting quarterback there and they still drafted, you know, they drafted Eli and then they traded Philip Rivers. But still you've got to consider every position when you're the New York Giants right now starting with the quarterback.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. You know we were talking about this past week the Rams special teams have cost him a game against the Niners, the Eagles and the Seahawks. The back end, the back end of that secondary, not great. I saw Carolina mow through them. Are the Rams the best team? And if I said to you best team in the league. It's very hard to be the best team in the league when I don't trust the back end of your defense. And your special teams routinely loses you games. Who is your best team in this league today?
Brian Baldinger
Well, it's. Jacksonville had a very impressive victory in Denver. I mean that was a team that won 11 in a row. They went into their house and they destroyed them. And that was after Trevor Lawrence got hit almost every time. He dropped back in the first quarter. And they survived the initial onslaught and they won. And so they're built the right way. They play man coverage, they've got a good front. This Trayvon Walker had a big old first baseman Smith on his hand for the first for about six weeks and now that's off and he's terrorizing it. But I still think the Rams because of. I still think they're a very good team because Sean McVeighs cold plays. Matt Stafford's probably the MVP. They might be able to overcome it. But they lost in Philadelphia because they couldn't protect on a field goal two times in the fourth quarter and they lost that game. But I feel like if you get Devonte and Puka and you get the two backs and the healthy offense line of Stafford, they can outscore opponents. They probably should have beaten the Eagles in the playoff game a year ago in Philadelphia. I still think they're going to be the toughest opponent for anybody, despite what you just described, you know, in the special team woes and the issues that they've had.
Colin Cowherd
Brian Baldinger Baldi's breakdowns. Baldi have a great holiday. I see the beautiful tree behind you down there in Florida and we'll talk soon, my man.
Brian Baldinger
I look forward to a Colin. Have a great holiday yourself, man. Happy holidays to you.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, it is. I always say in baseball, you can't win a World Series with a bad bullpen. But, but the Dodgers bullpen was bad. They kind of solved it. And I look at the Rams special teams and I'm like, I mean, they, they're moving off kickers and they, it's, it's a little bit of a wreck. But you know, the other thing about when you get into tournaments, they may not have to play Seattle again. Seattle obviously matches up real well with them. They may never have to play them. And I don't know quite what to do with Jacksonville. Be sure to catch live editions of.

Brian Baldinger
Turn on the news. This is the Herd line news.
Paulie Fusco
All right, Colin, let's start with Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. They got eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Chargers. And after the Eagles won Dallas Though they're not seeing sitting any starters and focusing on next season. Here's Dak Prescott talking about finishing strong.
Colin Cowherd
I guess it's different when you, when you do this and no, no, I'm.
Brian Baldinger
Not firing any shots like, but I've.
Colin Cowherd
I've said it over and over like this is our job. Like we're blessed. You know how hard we've worked and.
Brian Baldinger
The sacrifices we've got to even get to this league.
Colin Cowherd
I, I don't know anything else.
Brian Baldinger
Like I'm not going to cheat this game.
Colin Cowherd
I'm not.
Brian Baldinger
I'm gift this game everything that I.
Colin Cowherd
Have and that's just that, that's just how my mind works. Ah, he's so good at the podium. He's such a, he's such a foxhole guy. You know what I mean? You can trust him. Yeah.
Paulie Fusco
Anything for you on this. Well, this won't make blazing five or if it were Sunday would it make the blazing.
Colin Cowherd
I, I like Dallas actually. I think the commanders are so bad defensively. You look at the PFF ratings when they put them up like when they play these games and they put up the PFF rankings. The commander's defense, a lot of guys in like the 60s and, and I think Dallas plays with a lot of pride and I, I think Dallas's offensive personnel is pretty good. Yeah, I think.
Paulie Fusco
Yeah, I'm with you Dallas for sure here. Looks like Quinn and Williams will get back. They could get no pressure on Herbert at all. So the cornerbacks got cooked. You know what, they'll get pressure on Josh Johnson. I mean Mariota is going to not going to play Colin. A third string quarter. I'm surprised it's only seven. I think this is a great bet and a great teaser leg down to Cowboys just win. I know the defense stinks. Any concern about like Dak risking injury here?
Colin Cowherd
No.
Paulie Fusco
Late in the season?
Colin Cowherd
No, I think Dak, I think he wants to play and I think they listen.
Paulie Fusco
I.
Colin Cowherd
You can't ask guys, guys like Dak are going to show up and grind. So I think this is. Listen Dallas. Dallas. This future is better than people think. I don't love the staff but there's a lot of elements here I do like they got to clean up the back end of their defense. Good luck. Well, I mean Caleb, we talked about cap hits.
Paulie Fusco
Like Dak has a huge cap hit.
Colin Cowherd
What are you doing if you, if you nail the other receiver? CD Lamb and Flournoy, I think he's pretty good player has looked good.
Paulie Fusco
He got, he got dinged up and dirty hit by the Chargers. But I just don't see a path to success next year for Dallas. They can't get demonstrably better this off season. There just isn't a war chest. There's no money in free agents.
Colin Cowherd
If you went out and got an elite coach and nailed your first two picks, oh, we're moving off shoddy. I'm just saying if they lose the next two weeks, I don't think they're going to. But they're going to replace Eber Fluss. But Jerry, Jerry spends money on a lot of stuff. He's usually really good about this, but he's kind of gone. Discount on coaching.
Paulie Fusco
Yeah, I don't. If you ask me, will they make the playoffs next year? Yes.
Colin Cowherd
No.
Paulie Fusco
I would bet no.
Colin Cowherd
Right now.
Paulie Fusco
I just don't. I don't see it. Let's move on to the NFL. Went and announced some Pro Bowlers today. For some reason they announced six quarterbacks for both the AFC and nfc. Stafford, Darnold, Dak in the nfc. Drake May, Josh Allen and Herbert in the aft.
Colin Cowherd
How about that? Finally acknowledging. Look at that, look at that. Justin Herbert, Pro Bowler. Cement that. Embed that in your mind. All the critics out there of Justin.
Paulie Fusco
Herbert, are there critics of Justin Herbert?
Colin Cowherd
Oh yeah. He hasn't won a playoff game. What does that mean?
Paulie Fusco
Listen, that's. There's a lot of unintelligent people. If that's your argument against Herbert, he doesn't want a playoff game.
Colin Cowherd
Like what?
Paulie Fusco
Yeah, I mean I think there's a credible argument he should finish top three in the MVP voting.
Colin Cowherd
Dan Marino had Don Shula the winningest coach ever and has a losing playoff record. One trip to the Super Bowl. It is hard to win in January. It is. Especially when you're a, I mean Dan Marino, warm weather quarterback. Especially if you're a dome or a warm weather team. Because you're often going into lousy cold weather and you're just not. You're not ready. You don't plan it. Yeah. How about this?
Paulie Fusco
Oh, look at that stat. Sam Darnold, back to back Pro Bowls.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, interesting.
Paulie Fusco
Different teams. That's your boy.
Colin Cowherd
How about that? Sam Darnold, a two time Pro Bowler.
Paulie Fusco
Yay.
Colin Cowherd
Somebody never quit on him.
Paulie Fusco
Oh, geez. All right, let's go to the NBA to wrap up Colin. Interesting scenario last night unfolding on the Golden State bench. Here's Steve Kerr and Draymond Green going at it. Assistant coach Jerry Stackhouse steps in and then you see a Warriors player get up and step in I think that's Moses Moody, meanwhile, not seen as Steph Curry on the bench, just burying his head in a towel like, gosh, I can't believe I got to put up with this crap. Colin, I mean, listen, let's. First, let's go to the sound before we go off on Draymond Green, but here he is leaving the bench. I know he's your guy from podcasting, but anyways, here's Kerr and Draymond after the game.
Colin Cowherd
We had it out a little bit.
Brian Baldinger
And, you know, he made his decision to go back to the locker room to cool off.
Paulie Fusco
He didn't play the last 20 minutes.
Colin Cowherd
Would you have gone back to.
Brian Baldinger
No, no, he wasn't. He wasn't going back in. And was that a decision by him or you? Well, he left. He left. He went back to the locker room. And so we. We've moved forward. Temper spilled over, and I just thought it was best that I got it. I don't think there was a situation.
Paulie Fusco
Where it was going to get better.
Colin Cowherd
Two. Two adults there got a little. I mean, Kerr's intense and Draymond's intense.
Paulie Fusco
Leaving the bench and going to the locker room and not coming back for 20 minutes, that's not much. That's not mature behavior, Colin, from a veteran leader.
Colin Cowherd
Well, you would hope he'd stick around, but it's a long season.
Paulie Fusco
You'd hope.
Colin Cowherd
What are you talking.
Paulie Fusco
You'd hope he would stay on the bench as opposed to go to the locker room to cool off. What is this, a fifth grader getting sent to his room? Give me a break. This is deplorable behavior.
Colin Cowherd
Well, I think that's overstated. I think when you have worked, when a coach has been an intense coach. Michael Jordan once punch curve. He yells, he's intense. He's. He's. He's smart. He's intense.
Paulie Fusco
Those were. Timeout. Those were teammates, friend. Okay, this is a totally different scenario. This is a player going off on the coach and then walking away from his team. I could argue Draymond Green quit on his team last night. He went to the locker room. You know what, Colin? One time, when next time you're here, I'm gonna be unhappy with a segment. We're gonna bark, and then I'm just gonna walk away. You tell me when I'm invited back to be on the show again.
Colin Cowherd
Well, you got five other players sitting there. It's not like you. I don't know. I think. I think this is easy. I think this just happens in relationships. They'll It's. It's. Draymond can be a bit combustible, but it's not. Listen, this team's got way bigger issues than that. They're old, they're small, they're not. Kaminga doesn't work again with Curry. I mean, if you want to say that Draymond. I mean, honestly, if somebody. How about this? Trade Draymond Kaminga and a draft pick for Anthony Davis.
Paulie Fusco
Yeah, please, just get him out of town. We don't need that toxic personality around. Steph Curry. A class act, one of the ambassadors of the league. I mean, hell, I mean, it's Draymond Green, really. It's disappointing, man. There was a time when I liked Draymond, like, I don't know, eight years ago. I can't believe you're actually defending him even a little bit.
Colin Cowherd
I would just say that you don't want to overreact to these situations. The NBA, Major League Baseball, these long seasons.
Paulie Fusco
Something's going on with Draymond because earlier this week, we saw him get into it with a guy on the Suns, and he was yelling at. He, like, kind of shoved him in the head and called him. Kept calling him White boy. I think it was Gillespie.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah.
Paulie Fusco
What are you doing, Draymond?
Colin Cowherd
Not great.
Paulie Fusco
Like, sometimes you don't know what people have going on off the court.
Colin Cowherd
That's right.
Paulie Fusco
Maybe there's something. But this behavior, this is just embarrassing. I don't want to see him on the court on Christmas Day. They got Cooper Flag and Steph Curry, okay? These are ambassadors of the league. Cooper Flag could be the future of the league. I don't need these sideshow acts mucking it up on Christmas Day.
Colin Cowherd
All right. J. Mack with the news.
Brian Baldinger
Well, that's the news, and thanks for stopping by. The Herd lie news.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, I mean, Golden State, I think it's very difficult. I think after that win over the Celtics, they should have kept Curry and moved a lot of the parts. They're just. The west is too deep, too young, too athletic. And that's part of the frustration, in my opinion. It's the Herd. Be sure to catch live editions of.

Yeah, it's funny, I I mostly stay off all the social media stuff, have people do it for me. But occasionally during the football season people make good suggestions on topics and, and it's it's all kind of scan through it sometimes because people people have good ideas on stuff and I remember about Four or five, six weeks ago. Somebody psych Colin. I mean what is this? The Chicago Bears show folks one of the great watches in the league. The quarterback's incredible. Their games are all close, they're all come from behind. I thought the Bears packers game honestly may have been the game of the year in the NFL. Seattle, Seattle and Rams have played a couple of beauties but by the way, Chicago, San Francisco next week is the game of the week. So it's like when I was in la, you're like, well you're very favorable to LA teams. Well let's see, the Rams and the Chargers will both make the playoffs. The Lakers are pretty interesting. I don't know. The Dodgers are the best baseball dynasty arguably since the 75 Cincinnati Reds. I mean, what do you want me to say? LA's got great coaches, they just, they got good owners and great coaches. The Bears are fascinating. I mean it's a fascinating watch, full of personality, winning late close games and you know, when you're playing the packers and the Bears, doesn't that sound big? That sounds like a big game. Bears Niners, that sounds like the game of the week. Here's Nick Wright earlier on the continued development of Caleb, if you were to ask me Colin, here are 15 traits that make a quarterback make up a NFL quarterback pick one that is most fixable. I would say not great at layups. The stuff he is great at is not only is it not like fixable, it's not teachable. And so give me the guy who has the inherent greatness in him and then pair him with someone like Ben Johnson whose job it is to help him with the other stuff. I thought the, the other thing we talked about the Bears is we had a graphic earlier, it's crazy of the eight division leaders. The kind of nerdy mathy cap hit reality. If you look at the division leading quarterbacks, the highest cap hit. I do apologize to the radio audience is a lot of numbers on the screen but here's the easiest way to digest it. Of all the division leading quarterbacks, eight of eight have a cap hit of 16th or lower. Most in the 20s. You're paying your quarterback a fortune. Good luck. I mean Aaron Rodgers deserves credit. He had the Steelers over a barrel. Mike Tomlin was getting heat and he's like no, I want better weapons. Well, he told the Steelers it's not about money. Here's the number I'm looking at that allows them to go get DK Metcalf, Kenneth Gainwell, who didn't cost a lot from Philadelphia. But he's a great weapon. The untold story of Rogers that's not getting a lot of play is his cap hit is 14 million bucks and he's playing great. And I do think as you age and you've got 150, $200 million net worth. I do think, I've always said this. Don't chase money in my business. Chase good management or good bosses. There's money out there. There's not a lot of great management. In all my years doing this, I've been very fortunate for the record. But I think in the same thing, when you're an older quarterback and you've made your money, don't chase the money. Get it, get. Now Matt Stafford makes good money. He's a big cap hit. But it's not. Remember the, the Raiders offered more for Stafford and he's like, no, no, I'll take less. And living in California, you're going to make less than 50 cents on the dollar. I mean, you are anyway. So I mean that's just the reality of the tax situation in California, good or bad. So only one quarterback in this league is a major cap hit and is a playoff team right now. And that's because he has maybe the best coach and a roster where they have stolen talent. Puka fifth round. Kyron Williams, fourth or fifth round. They don't miss on defensive draft picks. That is the Matthew part of football that nobody discusses.
Paulie Fusco
Yeah, the team building that we love. So you talked a lot about Caleb Williams. Let me ask you a question, Colin Cowherd. Of these seven quarterbacks going into the playoffs currently, who do you have the most faith in? Not based on skill. I'm just talking about playing football. This season. Every quarterbacks in order in the nfc. Sam Darnold of the Seahawks, Caleb Jalen hurts Bryce Young, Brock Purdy, Stafford and Jordan Love Stafford. Stafford will be one. Okay, where does Caleb Williams rank? Just trust. I'm not talking about his talking nfc.
Colin Cowherd
I would go. Let me write this down. I'd go Stafford number one.
Paulie Fusco
I don't disagree.
Colin Cowherd
I would probably do Jordan love number two. I like Jordan love a lot.
Paulie Fusco
I do too.
Colin Cowherd
But okay, number three, give me the quarterbacks again.
Paulie Fusco
We got. So you have not done Darnold. You haven't done hurts. You haven't done Bryce Young, Brock Purdy or Caleb.
Colin Cowherd
Darnold.
Paulie Fusco
Darnold. Darnold above Purdy. Okay, fair enough. Whatever.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, no, I know. I would put, you know, remember it gets cloudy in the playoffs. I do not in Santa Clara.
Paulie Fusco
Actually it doesn't say.
Colin Cowherd
I would say. I don't even know what to do with Jalen Hurts. I really don't. I honestly, it's like I would probably do. I would probably do Purdy4 because of his coach and if Kittle's healthy, so.
Paulie Fusco
Then Hertz would be five. So Caleb Williams of the Bears would come in sixth ahead of Bryce Young? Correct.
Colin Cowherd
Well, dude, it's his first year with his staff.
Paulie Fusco
That's what I'm talking about, man. I feel, I feel the same about the Bears.
Colin Cowherd
So if you do the afc, it's the same thing. I like Bo Nix. He'd probably be four or five or six.
Paulie Fusco
No, he'd be six or seven. Aaron Rodgers and Bo Nix are at the bottom for sure.
Colin Cowherd
Well, I know I trust Aaron. I, I trust Aaron would be fine. I mean, Aaron's limited. They have one receiver I like.
Paulie Fusco
Aaron may have more playoff appearances than all those quarterbacks combined.
Colin Cowherd
I would trust in this. I would trust Alan will play well. Herbert will play well. I like Drake May. I like Drake May a lot. You guys, I, I told you guys you thought I was crazy. You and I, when we disagree on a pick, you've often had a better success than I have. I think you've come to your reality on Drake.
Paulie Fusco
I'm the dope who like Drake May over Jaden Daniels and all. Last year I got it thrown in my face repeatedly.
Colin Cowherd
You were right.
Paulie Fusco
Now remember, Drake May in North Carolina was awesome.
Brian Baldinger
Man.
Paulie Fusco
That guy threw a deep ball.
Colin Cowherd
He was just raw. Remember Belichick didn't like his feet. He was raw. But his comp and it was really accurate. Was Justin Herbert.
Paulie Fusco
Yeah. Gerard Mayo started last season and was like, we're playing our best quarterback and it was like Jacobe Brissette or something. And Drake May sitting here on the bench like, May's awesome. But again, I, I think Bo Nicks is probably six or seven here.
Colin Cowherd
That, that, that sounds like a criticism. But Bo Nicks and Caleb, they're just kids. I mean, they're young.
Paulie Fusco
I get it. So that's why I'm nervous about them. I know you're gassed up about those two. It's going to be a really rough go for May. Knicks, Caleb. A lot of first time quarterbacks in the playoffs. Bryce Young. The track record is brutal. The lights are bright, there's tons of tape. The defensive coordinators are elite. I mean, this is going to be a very interesting playoffs. I don't, I have no idea who's coming out of the AFC or nfc. None. I feel confident about the Rams, but.
Colin Cowherd
After that I am really. You know what really is interesting to me? Everybody loves Rabel. We all know Drake May is good. Their receiving group, which everybody thought was a weakness. Go look at the data on their receiving group.
Paulie Fusco
Solid.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, solid.
Paulie Fusco
It's above average.
Colin Cowherd
It's top three in big plays in the league.
Paulie Fusco
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
Kyle Williams, Hunter Henry, Matt Collins. Booty.
Paulie Fusco
Booty.
Colin Cowherd
I love that. I love booty. That kid. I love that kid.
Paulie Fusco
I love Booty, too.

NFL analyst and former player Brian Baldinger ("Baldi") joins Colin for insightful breakdowns, and the panel brings their signature mix of sharp opinions and lively banter. The hour wraps with rapid-fire discussions on the state of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, playoff quarterback trust, and the shifting sands in both leagues.

On Christian McCaffrey:
"[McCaffrey's] going to get 2,000 yards... over 400 touches. That’s a lot for any running back." — Baldinger [04:04]
On George Pickens:
"He should probably wear number 88 in that offense, but CeeDee gets that." — Baldinger [06:18]
On defensive playmakers:
"[Kevin Byard]'s going to lead this league in interceptions. He's done it before... Chelsea Gardner-Johnson, that guy is a thief and always has been." — Baldinger [07:33]
On Lane Johnson’s value:
"When Lane Johnson’s at right tackle you just feel like you’ve got the best tackle in all of football." — Baldinger [09:25]

Colin ranks the NFC playoff QBs by trustworthiness: Stafford first, then Jordan Love, Darnold, Purdy, Hurts, and Caleb Williams.
AFC: Allen, Herbert, Drake May among top, while Bo Nix and very young QBs lower.
Multiple first-time QBs in mix; panelists note the volatility ahead in the postseason.
The style remains conversational, occasionally irreverent, with both pointed analysis and humor. Colin and his guests deliver blunt assessments while rooting every claim in player performance, franchise history, and front office dynamics. Banter—especially around the Cowboys, Warriors, and young QBs—keeps things sharp and entertaining.
Hour 3 delivers quintessential Herd content: strong opinions on NFL personnel decisions, inside-the-huddle detail from Baldinger, hot takes on playoff contenders, and candid dialogue on controversies in sports culture. You’ll leave informed on why certain NFL teams are trending (or spiraling), which positions quietly drive success, and where the league’s most talked-about franchises need to go—on and off the field. The episode ends with a look ahead to a playoff landscape full of youth, uncertainty, drama, and opportunity.
