You know, it's interesting about mandatory minicamp starts tomorrow and whether you like Shadour Sanders or not, just have an opinion. Anybody can be a troll and an expert if you don't have an opinion and come in later every year. What I do with the draft is I give you strong opinions on quarterbacks. I was. I think Cam Ward's going to be really good. Tennessee is going to make the playoffs and I think Shador Sanders is a starting quarterback. I'm not into Jackson dart. You know how I feel about all these guys. I'm not going to sit on the sidelines then come pouring in. Last year I was much higher on Bo Nix than everybody else. I was right. I was high on Sam Darnold. I ended up being right. I thought Jaden Daniels. I kept saying before the draft he's. He's going to be Lamar Jackson but better from the pocket. Now I like Caleb Williams. We don't know how that's going to work work out, but I like Pennix more than I did. Not like J.J. mcCarthy. I think it's a bit of a ruse. I don't. I think he's smaller than you think. I've got surgeries. There's reports by Ross Tucker. There's doubts in the building. I didn't buy it, but just have an opinion. My take on Shadour Sanders is despite the fact he had no support from the run game, I think mostly an average coaching staff, a battle line. He was very productive against good teams and he played from behind running for his life. He got hit constantly. I don't think he's an A prospect, but is he a B? Yeah, I people I didn't love. No, I didn't love Zach Wilson, Daniel Jones. I wasn't high on Marcus Mariota, Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow. I thought Cam was going to be hit and miss. I think I've been mostly accurate on quarterbacks. I've missed on some but just have an opinion. My take on Shador is he's accurate. I think he processes well enough. I don't think the coach loves him. I think the owner does and I think he'll eventually get a shot to play. Here's Hasselbeck earlier on the Pickett Flacco, Dylan Gabriel, Shador. The entire quarterback race in Cleveland.
J. Mac
Usually quarterbacks, you know, they wear a different colored jersey, like a red jersey or something like that. You sit in the pocket, you're cool, you're comfortable, you're calm. How do you play when that jersey is off. There aren't as many reps to go around with all the quarterbacks in the room. So I think you're going to maybe I don't know when you're going to get it. You know, like some people are trying to manufacture that with joint practices and that kind of thing. But. But a lot of this is going to be conjecture.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, there's going to be a lot of different reports. I am on team shoulder starts somewhere before there's going to be the first five games. It is a lot of high powered offenses. Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Lamar in the Bing in the Bengals, Lamar in the Raven, Jordan Love in Green Bay, Jared Goff, Jameer Gibbs, the O line, Omaron St. Brown in Detroit and Kevin o' Connell's brilliance. Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Minnesota as a lot of points and Jimmy Haslam the owner. And then it's Aaron Rodgers at Pittsburgh and I don't love that offense, even with Aaron or without him. But after that it's Mike McDaniel and Tua and then it's Vrabel and Drake. Maybe there's going to be a lot of star quarterbacks, a lot of ascending quarterbacks, a lot of flashy quarterbacks and that ownership. Jimmy Haslam is not going to sit there and have dull Kenny Pickett and small or old Joe Flacco or small Dylan Gabriel. He's going to want to star. So I drafted Manzell and Baker and I had that ridiculous contract with Deshaun Watson. Shador is going to get snaps. I would be shocked if Shedeur doesn't get snaps by at least like the Miami or New England game. J. Mac with the news. No, no, no.
Colin Cowherd
Heard on the news.
Chris Broussard
This is the Herd line news.
Rich
All right, Colin. I'm on record. I got the Bills winning the super bowl this year. But some bad news regarding James Cook, their electrifying running back, the younger brother of Dalvin. We know he wants a new deal. Colin. According to Adam Schefter, Cook has disconnected from the team and apparently nobody expects him to see him in Buffalo anytime soon. Now that ain't great. Now this could just be posturing, right? We, we've seen some guys do this usually, and, and I, I don't want to paint with a broad brush, but usually when this stuff happens, it leaves us a bad taste in the mouth. Hey, man, we're on the cusp of something great. We know you want to get paid. I get it. You've been outstanding. But like, I mean, I, I don't, I don't know, Kyle. This just is not great. It is June. Let's not over.
Chris Broussard
How, how, how many James Cook has been there? Would this be his.
Colin Cowherd
Been there long?
Rich
But the problem is he blew up last year. And because of that, everybody's like, oh, this guy's like a top five running back in the league. I don't really know what to make of like, can Josh Allen cape up for him or get him in town? You know, they, they don't have a great receiving group. We know that they're going the two tight ends. Cook is the bell counter.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, I, I don't love it either. I, he's a good player. I really like him. He's a smallish running back. You know these running backs. He's a smallish running back who doesn't want to take a beating. You know, he's playing in cold weather.
Rich
This would be year four for him. Colin, he had 16 touchdowns last year. Well, that 511, a buck 90.
Chris Broussard
Well, you know what, he's probably looking at that team and saying outside of Josh Allen, I'm the offensive engine. We don't have a very good receiving core. Kincaid's been a little disappointing. I want my money. And by the way, you get into that year four now, James Cook was, he drove, was he drafted second, third round?
Rich
He was. It's not saying here, but so he probably. Oh, I'm sorry. Second round pick. Second round pick in 20, 22.
Chris Broussard
Okay, so you're getting the year four. He wants to get paid. He wants him, he wants a deal. So he didn't get paid with his.
Rich
First contract, turns 26 in September. If he can secure a big four.
Chris Broussard
Money deal for your 20, 26 for every position in football outside of running back is heading into your prime. At 26 years old as a running back, you are in the middle of your prime and maybe two high volume carry years away from end of your prime. So running backs age faster so you know he wants to get paid. I get it.
Rich
So like you see, Jameer Gibbs had 20 touchdowns, but Jameer Gibbs is like a 1A or 1B with the other back, Montgomery.
Chris Broussard
Well, Jamir. Yeah. Jameer Gibbs is a first round talent. He's a home run hitter. I like James Cook. I love Jameer Gibbs. That's a different player.
Rich
Gibbs is split and carries. You can look great when you don't have to carry 20 times a game. I don't, I, I, I'm bullish on Cook and the Buffalo Bills. Next up, Colin, how about your guys, the Chargers? They have bolstered their wide receiving group this offseason to help Justin Herbert. Last year it was the lad monkey show. He was phenomenal. 82 catches, seven touchdowns. Quinton Johnston was their number two receiver. So what they've done this offseason is they brought back Mike Williams and they added Trey Harris. So Quinton Johnston less of a burden. And Colin, would you believe it that OC Greg Roman says this year's wide receiving group is night and day different than last year. Positive signs for the Chargers.
Chris Broussard
Well, also Najee Harris and Hampton, the running back, the rookie first rounder from Carolina. So it's going to be. I think it'll. If Jim Harbaugh's second year at every place has been from Stanford, San Francisco, Michigan, and my guess is with the Chargers, it takes Jim about a year. So it feels like his footprint hit the stamp is on his team. So last year what does he do? He gets a. He gets an offensive tackle. This year what does he do? He goes and gets running backs. I don't ever remember a Jim Harbaugh team that was dynamic at wide receiver. I don't remember a Jim Harbaugh team that wasn't good on the O and D line and could not run the football. So to me, I feel like if there's a team that's actually undervalued Jim Harbaugh year to virtually every place, it feels like a Harbaugh team. Last year felt it didn't feel like a Harbaugh team. Last year felt like he had changed the culture and it was now a winning team. But the personnel didn't feel like it was a Harbaugh team. Hampton and Najee Harris, both power running backs with speed. This is officially Jim Harbaugh's official imprint on the bulls.
Rich
Yeah, like J.K. dobbins was their number one back last year. I mean no disrespect, but Harris is better and so is Hampton. Ran into some friends yesterday at a beach volleyball tournament who kids are in the same grade as Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh is very geeked for this season. I'll leave it at that. But I will be buying stock in the Chargers this season. Listen, the hype machine is out of control for LA out here. Final story. Collins to the NBA. And an interesting story emerging about Suns owner Matt Ishbia. He sent out a letter internally that got leaked about how he was like kind of, hey, man, I wasn't as involved as I should have been. Now I will be extreme active in the decisions and management of this organization. On and off the floor. While I won't be reviewing film, designing offenses or running the draft room, I will be deeply involved in ensuring the basketball operations are performing at the highest level. Now, Colin, there are some reports about ISPS businesses maybe struggling a little bit. And I will add this one. Okay, we're seeing this second apron where the owners have to write checks for 50, 60, $70 million. We're seeing ownership saying, whoa, James Dolan. Wait a minute.
Chris Broussard
Wait. What's going on?
Rich
Okay, I want to pick the coach. We're now seeing Ishpia all he brought in. Did you see Michigan? He's a Michigan State guy. Brought in a Michigan State gm, a Michigan State head coach. Owners, because of what's happening, big picture in the league are starting to get more hands on. I don't know if that's a good thing. Apparently he brought Devin Booker in and was like, what do you think of this new coach? I mean, Devin Booker's up for like a massive contract. I don't like the vibes around the Phoenix Suns right now and they're trying to trade KG Deep and get it quickly.
Chris Broussard
I mean, I, I think if you look. If you look at the Boston Celtics, who's made the decisions. Danny A. To Brad Stevens basketball guys, general manager run organization. If you look at who has run Oklahoma City, General manager Sam Presty. If you look at Utah's boatload of picks. Danny A. If you look at through the years who was really spearheaded the Miami heats, you know, consistency. Spolzer's been. The coach worked very closely aligned with Pat Riley. I think even a brilliant. I mean. Yes. Yeah, the guy in Minnesota. So I think, I mean Phil Jackson, as great a coach as he was, did he have the energy at the end of his career to be the GM of the Knicks? I. I believe this with every ounce and I'll talk about it. I think people think basketball is a simpler sport because the rosters are smaller. I mean, if you get a star or two, you're good. Phoenix is a great example. It doesn't work that way. Bradley Beal didn't work with Booker and Kevin Durant. It felt it sounded good. It didn't work. I think we tend to understand that baseball is really complex because you have like the pitchers are like a separate unit and baseball, the season is long and you know, it's, it's. Most owners don't want to sit. Jerry Reinsdorf's an exception. They don't want to watch 162 games. They own it. And I feel like in Bass football, we understand so much of it is the college draft and the hours out. But in basketball, I think a lot of these owners think, yeah, there's 13 guys. I got a head coach and a couple assistants. No, that's not the way it works. Go look at the best rosters and best run organizations. San Antonio R.C. buford was running the Internet. They were stealing players overseas. And then he worked well with Pop. The idea that some rich guy, it's just like, yep, you know, the rich guy comes in and thinks, hey, it's a small roster, let me stay out of it. Let your basketball people be empowered.
Rich
Totally agree.
Chris Broussard
J. Mac with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by the Herd lie news. You know, I was saying this earlier about OKC and Indy. I don't think it's a fascinating series. I think Indy will come back and win a home game or two. I think it's a six game series. I'll take okc. But earlier today I was talking about, if you look at the old days, I mean, Michael Jordan hated the Celtics. Michael Jordan hated the Pistons. The Lakers hated the Celtics. The Knicks couldn't stand the Bulls. There was real animosity in the league, not only from the organizations, but the owners, the general managers, the coaches and the star players because everybody was trying to get their tiny slice of the pie. Go look at what Michael Jordan made with the Bulls. Didn't make that much money until the very end. Look what Magic made with the Lakers as a player. So in the NBA now, you don't have that combativeness. The players are all rich, they like each other. And Jayson Tatum, Jokic, sga, they're all nice guys. And as I Halliburton, ooh, he's a trash talker. They're nice guys. And so I said, this series needs Draymond Greener, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rod. It needs some combativeness. And instead what you have is a business like approach run by a smart GM in Oklahoma City and a veteran coach in Carlisle run by a high IQ EQ point guard. Be sure to catch live editions of the Herd, Weekdays at noon Eastern, 9am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1 and the iHeartRadio app.

You know, there are moments in life where you get to make a real difference, and this is one of them. I want to tell you about Folds of Honor. They provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military members and first responders. Think about that for a second. Families who've lost everything or are rebuilding their lives, and this organization steps in to make sure their kids can still go to college or a spouse can get the training they need to keep moving forward. Since 2007, they've awarded nearly 62,000 scholarships. Last year, about 7,000 qualified students didn't receive funding, and this year that number is expected to grow to nearly 10,000. So if you've been looking for a way to give back to do something really meaningful, this is it. Go to foldsofhonor.org give what you can. It all matters. Honor their sacrifice by educating their legacy.
Chris Broussard
I don't think it's a dynamic series. I think it's a die hard basketball fan series. Chris Broussard now joins us live. But I do think the NBA has changed. Chris, is that you? And I grew up with a much more. I mean, Bird and Dr. J once got into a fist fight. Jeff Van Gundy, there was a brawl on the court and he's crawling underneath players. The league is different now. It's more international. It's. Everybody's getting paid. I like this series, but I do understand those who say there's not a lot of drama with it. Your thoughts?
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, look, it does lack the buzz of previous series and that's just the fact that they don't have superstar driven rosters. Obviously SGA is a superstar, but he's young and he's not particularly outspoken or charismatic. He's a, he's a good personality. He seems like a great guy and he's not shy. He's kind of like Tim Duncan though. I mean, he's, you know, a little more outgoing, more color to him than Tim Duncan, but. But he is not a captivating personality, at least not yet. And it's the same thing on the other end with the Pacers. Both of these teams, like you said, they play team basketball. They're not led by one or two, you know, superstars and generational talents. And that's why you lack it. And also the games themselves, like game one was dull until the end because OKC led by about 10.
Chris Broussard
Right.
Colin Cowherd
For the whole game. And then last night they lead by 15 to 20 for the whole game. So they haven't been the greatest games either. I'll say this, and you may get to SGA Colin, because he's obviously phenomenal. If he played like Anthony Edwards or John Morant, I mean the high flying, flashy type game, he would be an absolute superstar. I mean, beyond what he is now. Like people, he wouldn't be as good as Jordan, but people would be comparing him to Michael Jordan. He would be viewed as, okay, we've now we see the next Michael Jordan. If he had that game and the same exact stats and everything else. But because he's not high flying like that, it's kind of like, oh, he's great. Like I said, Tim Duncan of this generation.
Chris Broussard
Yeah. You know, I've argued this for years. Brew is that most of the stars in my life, Kareem wasn't dynamic, Duncan wasn't dynamic. There's only been a handful of guys. Michael was crazy. Dr. J was wild, Magic was flashy. But a majority of stars. Steph is unique. But I would argue the league's history is closer to SGA. I mean go back to the 70s. The only player that jumps out is wildly dynamic. Was Dr. It was a lot of. It was a lot of really, you know, Bill Walton's, Rick Barry's, you know, it was a lot of really good players, but not wildly dynamic.
Colin Cowherd
Elvin Hayes, right?
Chris Broussard
That's right. Elvin Hayes, exactly. But when I look right now at the NBA, I don't know if it's a problem, but I think the game is more skilled, I think it's smarter. But Jokic, sga, Tatum, Jalen Brown, even Giannis hasn't developed a jumper like it's. I think as we've asked our players to be more skilled and the coaching is better, we're a little bit less reliant. I kind of. I'll give the. I think the play like Halliburton. Halliburton and SGA are all angle guys. They're all playing their bodies, they're playing angles, they're playing math. I love it, but I don't. It's. I just think the game has changed and you to appreciate it. It's not as high flying as it used to.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, I used to say and this was maybe 15 years or so after Michael Jordan, the game, the people that ran the game, front offices, scouts were focused on hyper athleticism. So you saw guys strobe, Miles Swift and some others get drafted. Chris Wilcox who really weren't very skilled, but they had crazy athleticism jump out the gym and quick and fast. And now I have always said, Steph, James Harden, some of these guys who aren't uber athletic but are sensational players, they brought the game back to fundamentals and skills. If you have the requisite required level of athleticism and you're skilled, you can be great. And going back Oscar Robertson, you know, relatively, he wasn't a high flyer, he wasn't ultra fast, but he was fundamentally sound and obviously phenomenal. Magic and Bird, now they were flashy passers, but they weren't what you call super athletes. Right. Relatively speaking. And yet they were so great. So you're right in that this era has gotten back to more fundamentals. I also wonder, look, if I was in a different country and I'm learning, I might not be as comfortable like English. The language wouldn't be my first language. I might not be as charismatic as I might be in my home country.
Chris Broussard
Right, right.
Colin Cowherd
And I don't know if does that right you're still getting adjusted to the culture and things, and Giannis obviously has some personality stuff, but you're not at home. So does that, you know, impact, you know, guys, I don't know, being themselves or being as colorful as they might be if they were speaking in their, you know, native language and their first language and things like that, just something, you know, you wonder about, because obviously. So even SJ is from Canada now, obviously English, his first language, but it's still. He's from a different country than American. Didn't grow up in the American culture, so to speak.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, no, I was just overseas and I say this all the time. I tip better. I'm quieter, I'm more gracious, I'm more aware of my. I'm more mindful when I'm overseas because I feel like I'm a visitor. Even if I'm over there for seven, eight, nine days, I'm always a visitor. I want to be a good American. So I do think there's something to be said as I think the game is more skilled, it's more mindful, but it's, it's. There aren't as many dynamic players. I want to ask you about the Knicks. So my take is, when James Dolan was building the Sphere, he was sort of distracted and it became a very good basketball front office. You had Leon Rose, you have Tibbs, you have Worldwide west, and it's just basketball guys, basketball addicted. And they built a hell of a culture. And I kind of feel like Dolan's always. He's an artist. He's always been an artist. There's nothing wrong with it. That's why this, that's. Yeah, I mean, that's why the sphere is his. It's his musical North Star, it's his greatest achievement. Not Cable Vision, not the Knicks. It's actually, when he left, they had back to back 50 win seasons. But if you look at Dolan's history, Isaiah, Phil Jackson, Carmelo Amari, Stoudemire, he likes stars. Could I argue that Tibbs was just never his kind of guy, Gruff, a grinder, grumpy, and that. That's not what Dolan wants. He loves stars, he loves entertainment and music.
Colin Cowherd
Now you're Lenny Wilkins, Isaiah Thomas, I mean, big names, he wants them, right? And look, if the reports are true, and I'm sure they are true, that they're looking at IME Udoka, right? Chris Finch, now from the Timberwolves. Jason Kidd, obvious, the Mavericks, it appears, if that's the case. And look, Leon Rose does Not talk to the media on or off the record. So I think he certainly got some things planned that people may not know about. But if they actually fired Thibodeau without and your plan was we're going to go get Jason Kidd, we're going to go get email Doka, like how are you going to, you know, sure fire get a coach from another team. Hopefully that was not their plan A because that is ridiculous. If that were the case and if Dolan is and I know their reports are that Dolan, you know, is involved in this. Oh yeah, that is not a good look. Cause you're absolutely right. Like if Leon Rose was doing a great job and I don't mind them moving on from tips, I would not have done it at this point. But I think, you know, it could work and there's rationale behind it it but you got to get the right guy and the right guy might not be the biggest name out there. You know, I like a Johnny Bryant, you know, who was an assistant with the Cavs this year. Four years as an assistant with the Knicks under Tibbs. He could bring that Kenny Atkinson kind of system to the Knicks and get more guys involved. Not just a one and two man show. We'll see if they do that. He's not a big name and if Dolan's looking for a big name, they probably wouldn't go that route. But they that Dolan should not be involved at all in this decision, Colin. And if he is, it could be this could backfire on the Knicks because Tibbs, like him or not, he is a great coach, had a great season and there's no guarantee, we don't know for a fact he wouldn't have got them to the finals next year. So this could backfire if Dolan's running it.
Chris Broussard
Yeah. I mean my take is he built the culture. The issues with the Knicks were personnel issues, that Brunson's not a good defender either is Cat. The league has always been a baby step league and they're playing one step away. That may be a KD step. It was a, it was a personnel issue, it wasn't a coaching issue. Chris Broussard CO host First things first, buddy. I appreciate you stopping by. Brew.
Colin Cowherd
All right, Colin. See it?
Chris Broussard
Yeah, I, I, I didn't get it, so, and by the way, the, the, the story this morning and the stories over the last few days I've read is that Dolan did have an impact on this and now they interviewed players and you know those closed door player only meetings you know coaches. Coaches get beat up in those, but NBA's always kind of treated their coaches like laundry. Rick Carlisle's been fired. Detroit fired Rick Carlisle. Did Indy fire him once? He's been fired twice. Rick Carlisle, pretty good coach. Gets Indiana past Cleveland. They thump Milwaukee. They beat the Knicks. They were underdogs in all the series. They beat OKC in game one. Rick Carlisle is pretty good. He's been fired twice. Be sure to catch live editions of the Herd, weekdays at noon Eastern, 9am Pacific.

Chris Broussard
You know, the thing about Aaron Rodgers going to the Steelers, we kind of have a fantastic four with quarterbacks. Burrow, Lamar, Allen, Mahomes, that's your fantastic four. And then I think there's about six guys after that. We like, you know, that's Herbert, C.J. stroud, Jalen Hurts. Matt Stafford's probably near the top of that list. There's about six other guys I think Jason Daniels you have to put in that list. And so again, the fantastic four. And then there are about six guys after that. I would put Stafford at the top of it. Jalen hurts closer to the bottom of that next six. And then you start with about a number 11 and 11 to 15. I got Baker Mayfield near the top of that. I have Aaron and Dak near the bottom of that. Just Aaron. Aaron and Dak get a lot of press. But I think, and I think most people understand it like, according to the stories, Aaron was the third choice of the Steelers and McVay and Kevin O' Connell both said not really interested, even at a discount. So, I mean, it's, I mean, we'll talk about him. It's slow, it's June, but I don't think it makes a huge impact. I do think if you'd have kept Justin Fields, I said this earlier year, if you go look at What, What Justin Fields did in six starts last year for Pittsburgh and you put the numbers up. They're pretty good. I'm not a huge Justin Fields fan. It's pretty good. Ten touchdowns, two giveaways. If you extrapolate that to an entire.
Matt Hasselbeck
Season.
Chris Broussard
Maybe not in the AFC, but in the NFC, be a Pro Bowler, 28 touchdowns, six picks, 94 passer rating. If Aaron Rodgers could get those numbers and miss a couple of weeks, place 15 games at 41 years old, you would sign up for that today. I don't think Aaron's going to reach those numbers. Matt Hasselbeck, very optimistic on Aaron with Pittsburgh.
J. Mac
I do believe Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers is a really good fit. And I told you before, the veteran quarterback market is like musical chairs. There's not a lot of chairs. The music stops. You know, all you need is one chair. The thing for a veteran quarterback, you don't want to go in and, like, learn some foreign language. He's not going to have to do that with Arthur Smith. This is a good fit. Aaron Rodgers has the weapons, the quirkiness, as you say, there's a. There's. It's okay in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is the kind of organization that can handle it. I think they're going to thrive from it.
Chris Broussard
I. I don't see Pittsburgh as a kind of organization. They can handle him, but will they elevate him now? The jets didn't, the packers did. But I always go back to Aaron's last year in Green Bay. He was okay. I was a lot of years ago. They upgraded to Jordan Love. The following year. They were much more athletic, much more dynamic. He was okay. Remember that played Jared Goff as Detroit was building into a really good team and Jared Goff went into Lambo and beat him. Like that's what he was. So. And I also think what you're seeing here, and we've seen it in the last couple years, last year's draft. Mo Nicks looks like he could be special. Jaden Daniels is. Drake May looks like he could be special. Michael Penix, J.J. mcCarthy, fingers crossed. Caleb Williams has Ben Johnson. You can go from the 11th best quarterback in this league. League to 15th really quick. I mean, Dak and Aaron now are old post surgeries. They're old quarterbacks. So. And now Baker and Sam Darnold have been reborn. They're still in their athletic prime. How old is Baker Mayfield? How old, Sam? Sam Darnold, 30. I mean, you forget with all these young quarterbacks, if I said right now Sam Darnold had A bigger market, Minnesota and Seattle than Aaron Rodgers. Sam Darnold today is a better quarterback than Aaron. That's not even disputable. Baker Mayfield's a better quarterback than Aaron. That's not disputable. And I think those guys are both around 29, 30 years old. What is it? Yeah, Baker's 30 and Sam's 28. So Baker, I would say maybe a year out of his prime. Sam's in his prime, so. And then you got the young guy. Now, this was not a good quarterback, Mark. Cam Ward is the one that jumps out. Cam. We all like Cam. Here's Hasselbeck on Cam Ward becoming a leader. As the youngest guy in the locker room.
J. Mac
I was 40 years old. I was backing up a young quarterback. The first overall pick, also named Andrew Luck. He was the hardest worker in the building. He was the first guy there. He was the last guy to leave. And like, those aren't just cliche things. That was actually legitimately true. Those are the reports that matter just as much to me about Cam. He's been a diligent, diligent worker, setting the tone by when he gets to work, how he works when he's there. He's not about the flash and all the other stuff. He's about the business of football, about the business of being the quarterback and the leader. That's the stuff that I don't care if you're young, old, everybody respects in the locker room.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, I think J Mac, you and I disagree on a lot of football topics. We both agree that Tennessee is one of the better picks. You know, when we talk about teams that we perceived as bad, seven, eight win teams, max, that make the playoffs, I think we both see Tennessee as that team.
Rich
I would. I agreed with you a little while ago. Then the schedule came out and right out of the gate, rookie quarterback has to face the Denver Broncos defense, which is going to be elite top four unit in the league. Followed by the Rams, who we know are an awesome so an 02. The schedule's just not great. Then they got Houston and week four. Colin. I've backed off it now. Maybe I'm reading too much into schedule, but I mean they could go into the bi week at like 3 and 6 that it's just going to be tough to make the playoffs unless Warren's electric.
Chris Broussard
Yeah, I kind of look at September differently. You're not going to get the best of the Rams in September. You're not going to get that because it's 17 game schedule. We noticed this last year. People are coaching differently. They're, they're people are players are playing differently. The league we're going to 18 games by next year. That is my guess. We'll have it. Not this year. The following year we'll be at 18 games and two bye weeks like September will be fun, but you're not going to get the best of it when you have an 18. College now is like 15 games. You have an 18 game schedule. You have to judge it differently. You can't unveil the whole playbook in September. All right, we're back tomorrow. First things first.
