Steve Covino
Boozing, schmoozing. The weather is great. It's so good to be back here. This is not to brag or anything and not to date ourselves. It was like our 19th Super bowl week and it never gets old. So exciting. So much fun. All leading to the big game on Sunday. Super pumped about it. So you got to start preparing your fix ins and your chips and dips and where you're going and who you're inviting. And again, all the storylines and all the guests will be bringing it to you throughout the week. Hope you had a great weekend. Hope you had a David Benavidez sort of weekend.
Rich Davis
Yeah, we were in Vegas for fight weekend and there was some damn good fights. We had a lot of funny times. Vegas, always a great time.
Steve Covino
Yeah. We got to tell you about it. Lots to get to. We got last one standing. We're giving away prizes. We're going to do things that made you go all weekend long. Obviously we're going to talk about Luka and Ad.
Rich Davis
I got to ask that would it be a bad look and would the Fox Sports people get mad if I showed up with the male version of the Bianca Sensory outfit. What if I just showed up in like a sheer outfit?
Steve Covino
You ruined my surprise. I was going to wear it on Friday.
Rich Davis
We're filling it for the herd on Wednesday. Let's make an impact. I'll wear my sheer outfit.
Steve Covino
Yeah, that was wild. Hope you enjoyed the Grammys last night. I didn't really watch them, to be honest. But I watch it just.
Rich Davis
Just to be in the loop. And I'll tell you what, I don't know if anyone's having a better week than Kendrick Lamar wins a handful of Grammys and then he's doing the super bowl halftime show. So.
Danny G
No.
Steve Covino
What's ironic about it or odd, however you want to look at it, is that a diss track? Danny G and I were talking about it earlier. A diss track which became an anthem, also got all these accolades at the Grammys. Like, how do you think Drake feels about that? If this track against Drake is sell, you know, at the biggest event of the year in music.
Danny G
Yeah. There's been hundreds of diss tracks in hip hop over the years and none have ever won an award. So this goes down in rap history.
Steve Covino
One, like five. And if you didn't get Rich's reference yesterday, because you have a life and you didn't see it on social media.
Rich Davis
I don't know how you missed it.
Steve Covino
On social media because not everybody lives that life. People are on the road and they're busy. Bianca Sensory is Kanye West's wife and she's a good looking woman, but she showed up with nothing on. That was the whole story. Nothing on. No. But when we.
Danny G
When we say had a trench coat on, she. Yeah, she disrobed.
Steve Covino
Yes.
Danny G
And then went nude.
Steve Covino
Right. It was like a nude dress, like completely see through.
Rich Davis
But even by saying see through, you're giving it too much credit.
Steve Covino
It was Saran Wrap. I don't even know how to describe.
Rich Davis
It's almost like a big Ziploc bag.
Steve Covino
Yeah, exactly.
Rich Davis
You could see it all.
Steve Covino
That was yesterday.
Danny G
Was it better than Jaden Smith's big dude?
Steve Covino
That was the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. Jaden Smith, Will Smith's son, showed up with a castle on his head. It's so dumb. I'm glad I didn't watch anything.
Rich Davis
I'll tell you this. What went on in the NBA over the weekend was so big that it got a shout out at the Grammys. Last week. They came back from commercial and then there was Jim Gaffigan and he's like. During the commercial break, I got traded to the Lakers where Trevor Noah. So this Luka Anthony Davis. We gotta dive right in. We're coming back from the fight.
Steve Covino
Fight was great, by the way. I do gotta say that we had a great time in Vegas and we interviewed Jim Lampley and Brian Custer. If you missed any of that. We even did a bonus Pod check Cavino and Rich on Apple podcasts. Benavidez, the Mexican monster battled David Morrell. Was the fight of the year. Even though it's February, it was a battle for the ages. The Pitbull Cruz fight was great. And while all this was going on, Israel Adesanya got knocked out in UFC earlier that day. But it was a great weekend for fights and a great weekend drama filled. Weekend drama show, triple G style of sports. Because we're at the fight and I got to paint this picture because if you've never been to a fight. Yeah, there's like a foggy, dreamlike atmosphere going on. It's like a smoky Vegas atmosphere. It's like you're at photon in the late 80s, laser lights and fog, and you know this feeling of this fight. So it's like a dreamlike sort of quality in the air. Like, man, that fight was wild. Right?
Rich Davis
I sure wasn't the edible I gave you.
Steve Covino
It could have been the edible. It could have been the boozing and schmoozing. Could have been Vegas. But there is a vibe in the air is my point. And we're riding off this high of the fight. Like, damn, that fight was wild.
Jon Stewart
Right?
Steve Covino
That was a battle.
Rich Davis
No, I'll give you the analogy. You know when you get out of a concert or you're off a roller coaster. Yeah. When you leave a good concert, your hearing's not right. Like, you're still in, like, this, like, almost like a fog.
Steve Covino
And it was a good fight. So we're leaving the casino, man. Benavidez, I think he'll kill Canelo. I don't know. We're talking about the fight. We get a text on our phone from our buddy spot, and it was Luca traded to the Lakers. Like, yeah, right. Like, you immediately thought you'd click it and it'd be a naked black guy sitting on his bed, right? You're like, this can't be. This is fake wood.
Rich Davis
He got me again, right?
Steve Covino
Like, this is a fake link. I know our buddies, and I know how these work. I'm not buying into this. Yeah, it's always like San Francisco Chronicle or something, right? Like something weird. And you're like, oh, I was bamboo. It's a fake link. But you hear a buzz not only about the fight in the casino. You hear a buzz about, yo, did you see luka Lakers, yo. AD's gone. You hear this buzz, and you watch, and it's like time standing still, and people are looking at their phone and you realize, what? This is real.
Rich Davis
Well, from my Perspective. You went ahead of us to meet up with some listeners and some colleagues at the center bar. Yeah. So Covino's already at the bar ordering a drink. Danny G. And I stopped for a slice of pizza.
Danny G
The smart move.
Rich Davis
The smart move.
Steve Covino
I think that was the edibles kicking in.
Rich Davis
So we're getting a slice, and there's a long line, and all at once, almost like a damn catastrophe. But it wasn't bad news. It was fun news. Everyone looks down at their phone, and the first instinct was, yo, did Shams get hacked? Because everybody. Everyone's responding to his tweet about this trade. And the sentiment was, y'all, this is fake. And then we're looking on all different social medias to see, yo, is this real? Is this? And immediately he follows it up with another tweet. Like, again, I was not hacked. This is real. And then the conversation starts.
Steve Covino
Yeah, because again, this was so out of left field. Even though that's a baseball example, would it be Danny G. He was straight. So far off the bench that. So far off the court. So off the court.
Danny G
So far out of the G league.
Steve Covino
Yeah. You're like, what? How is this possible? Did anybody know about this? So many questions come to mind. So, again, had a great time at the fight. Catch it on our podcast feed. But after the fight, the biggest story is Luka for ad. So it's a question of who wins the trade. Did LeBron know? Is this the biggest trade ever of our lifetime? We're racking our brains trying to figure that out. Is anyone safe in the NBA? And is this really about the owners flexing, that they're still in control here? You know, there's so much going on. Storyline.
Rich Davis
You just asked, like, four good questions. And I have more to add on to that. But I think everyone immediately was quick to be like, come on. Like, LeBron didn't know. And somehow I believe he really didn't. Maybe he's just a good actor in this one. But I don't think LeBron was as in the loop as you.
Steve Covino
I believe it, too. I believe the storyline, because, again, this is about moving forward. This is the first time we've seen, you know, a team moving forward, thinking forward outside of LeBron. And I think had he known, he may have put a stop to it because ad's his boy. Like, maybe it wouldn't have happened if they included him.
Rich Davis
So I do believe that we actually have the audio of Shams talking about the announcement he made. Take a listen.
Justin Penick
I mean, I thought my phone was hacked. When I got the text messages with the details of the trade and when.
Bobby Bones
I got wind of the deal.
Steve Covino
But you peel back the curtain, and for the Mavericks, they honestly internally believe that this move puts them in a better position to win a championship.
Bobby Bones
Of course, there are issues that they.
Steve Covino
Had, obviously, with Luka Doncic, his conditioning levels to an extent, but they have that belief.
Rich Davis
And when you think about the next.
Bobby Bones
Several months, the next few years, we're.
Rich Davis
Going to know the exact answer to.
Steve Covino
Whether they were right in this decision or if they were wrong.
Rich Davis
I mean, it's like a draft, right? People do the degrading of a draft, and you're like, how are you grading something when they didn't play it down? They didn't shoot one free throw. They didn't take, you know, one at bat, and you're. You're grading a draft or a trade.
Steve Covino
Well, not only that, you can't grade this because you don't know if the moves are finished yet. So you really can't fully grade it. If you want to grade just the trade and where it is right now, you got to give advantage Mavericks because they're gearing up to win now.
Rich Davis
Oh, you think that? I saw that.
Steve Covino
There's no question on social media the laborers are gearing for the future. Unless they get more moves in the making and find a big man. There's no question that the Mavericks are playing to win now, and they believe that defense wins and that ad was the missing piece here. So the Mavericks have an advantage that the Lakers don't. Lakers are gearing toward the future, and they win all around because Luka is undeniably a great. He's 25 years old, but they still have a missing piece. I think if the Lakers make that move, then you're saying, yeah, man, they're. They're definitely making a move to win this year, which is awesome. But they still need some pieces and some moves to be made.
Rich Davis
That's. That's the best part about these fake grades, because what you just said makes a lot of sense, but I've seen people say the complete opposite, that the Lakers clearly won this because they're planning for life beyond LeBron James. Yeah.
Steve Covino
In the big picture, in the long run.
Rich Davis
So, I mean, there's a lot of people. If you asked 100 people, I would argue 7 out of 10 would say, Lakers win this trade.
Steve Covino
Again. That's almost a different sentiment, though. Who wins this trade? Yeah. In the long run, as a franchise and organization, Lakers, clearly. As far as who really wins in the Moment. As far as championships this year, if it were to remain this way, the Mavericks are looking better at the moment because they just beefed up their defense tremendously. Danny Garrett, are we gonna see? Because you're the resident NBA guru and Lakers fan. It's a Laker.
Rich Davis
So this is. This matters to him.
Steve Covino
We know that. It's not done yet.
Danny G
I hope not, because I like Jackson Hayes, who right now is the big man for the Lakers. Yeah, but they obviously need more size. You have the Nuggets, and you also have to deal now with AD on the mav.
Steve Covino
So you're hearing whispers of. I mean, all sorts of names.
Danny G
Right?
Steve Covino
But even to Jimmy Butler, who made it clear that he wants to be a Phoenix Sun. He may end up on the Mavericks, for all we know. And again, what we learned, if anything, is that the players aren't all in control like we sometimes think they are. The owners are flexing big time. Not only are the, you know, Lakers and Mavs flexing, but this is a joyful day for all the owners, as you've heard all over social media and on the news, because it reminded everybody. And you heard Kevin Durant say it over the weekend. Is anyone safe? And who are the real untouchables? And is there such a thing anymore in the NBA? If you could dish a loop. Luka and an ad you know, sort of an even swap at the moment and no one even know about it.
Danny G
Yeah, I was confused about the trade when I was standing with Rich in the pizza line because I didn't know whether to be fully excited about it or not, because I like AD I've loved watching him play for the Lakers. He's been an integral part of the team. Obviously helped win the championship, even though a lot of people discount it because it was the COVID season. But watching AD Be a monster on both ends of the court, and then you get a guy now who's an offensive weapon, then obviously the hole in the lineup, the hole in the roster right now is defense in size.
Steve Covino
That's the thing.
Danny G
So if the Lakers can pull a move to get the. The big guy out of Utah or get a Miles Turner or somebody like that, there's a small list of big guys available right now. I'm really curious to see the move they make before the trade deadline on Thursday.
Rich Davis
Danny was in the pizza line, confused about, is this good for his Lakers? I was confused because Danny goes, do you have Hawaiian pizza? I learned that Danny's. Danny G's a Hawaiian pizza guy. He's a Pineapples and ham.
Steve Covino
And if you guys are confused, how do you think LeBron felt when he was at dinner and he realized his boy got traded? Talk about conflicting feelings, right? It's like, my boy's gone, but now I get a superstar to join my team, a guy that he admires. And of course, Luka idolizes LeBron. So there has to be a lot of conflict there to the point where it's still a News story that LeBron has stated he wishes to stay with the Lakers, as if there was going to be a doubt there, because you have to wonder how he felt in that moment. I imagine extremely conflicted.
Rich Davis
Well, I think LeBron played it well from a younger perspective. If you're talking to millennials and younger, your response on social media to a breakup, to a new job, to something happening with your friends or family, people put way too much stock in the social media response. And I think LeBron posting a couple heartfelt photos of him and Ad saying, Yo, go. Go to Dallas and slay it, my friend. Like, my friend. Go do it. And I think that, to me, is a good look. While he put time embracing like, yo, we're getting Luke.
Steve Covino
Oh, yeah, yeah. And he put out all fires of. He knew about it immediately. So, yeah, immediately it was on social media that he knew nothing about this. And anyone that insinuated differently, he was calling him out as a clown.
Rich Davis
Yeah, love you, my dog. Go crazy over there. And a picture of them hugging and a picture of them embracing with the NBA trophy and champagne.
Steve Covino
I'm with Danny G. Even posted, like.
Rich Davis
A montage of AD as a Laker. So he's letting it be known like.
Steve Covino
Ad, Ad's my boy, you're my boy. This is part of the business. And as A true professional, LeBron has played with so many great players, and he noticed. He knows that's part of the deal, even though I'm sure he's unhappy about it. Yeah, that's the right move to make. But when I look back at AD's run as a Laker, he had so many injuries, but I'll always look at him as a guy that helped him win a championship.
Danny G
And he's been my favorite Laker.
Steve Covino
Yeah, he's great.
Danny G
I'm not alone as a Lakers fan saying, if it had been LeBron traded instead of AD for Luka, I would have been even more excited, because if it was Luka and Anthony Davis together, then that would have been the dream.
Rich Davis
Really? Yeah. And then after all that love For a day, LeBron posted a really delicious looking meal. He. I didn't know LeBron's in the food game. Oh, yeah, what is that? Short rib and grits, some red wine.
Steve Covino
There's so many questions like, I think you're hungry. Is this the greatest duo that LeBron has been a part of? He's played with so many big names throughout his career. That's very hard to say, right?
Rich Davis
Dwayne Wade in his prime, you know, with Bosch also. And then Kevin Love.
Steve Covino
He's played with so many superstars. But then when Rich. Finally, when Rich and Danny came back from their munchy pizza session, he joined us at the bar and we're like, whoa, can you believe this? Again? We were in Vegas when this trade happened for the fight. The question was because we were all in such shock. Hold on a second. Is this the biggest trade of our lifetime? That really was where we were when we found out. Like, have we ever witnessed any trade this big in our lifetime? Because even if you're a casual basketball fan, you're like, man, this is crazy, dude. How did nobody know about this? And how is this gonna unfurl, like, and is this the biggest one? And we came to the conclusion that there's only one other, let's say, player swap in this way that compares, and it still doesn't even compare.
Rich Davis
No, listen, this is such a big deal. One of the people we were having drinks with at the bar is one of our friends and guy that listens every day, Wes in Vegas. And he couldn't care less about the NBA. And he was like, this is really exciting.
Steve Covino
Oh, yeah.
Rich Davis
I mean, it was just an exciting story for just a sports fan. And the one. And we didn't want to look it up because that's cheating when you're at the bar.
Steve Covino
We went old school. We went with let's use our brains.
Danny G
I found one in my producer brain.
Rich Davis
Oh, really? In the.
Steve Covino
In the.
Rich Davis
In the brain of producing and just. I don't know, without looking and googling everything, sometimes it's fun to just say, let me try to think. And if you're roughly 40 ish. 30, 40, 50. Let's take it back to like 1980 till now, the last 45 years. Is there a trade of 2 stars even close to this? And only one came to mind.
Danny G
Yeah. The first thing that came to mind for me was Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff.
Steve Covino
Oh, you said that.
Danny G
What?
Steve Covino
Yeah, yeah. Because when that was brought up, like, oh, yeah, that was a really good one. But at that moment, Goff wasn't this standout superstar that he became in Detroit.
Danny G
He helped the Rams get to the people.
Steve Covino
Yeah, of course.
Danny G
But remember, they still thought he was a liability and wasn't going to get them the championship.
Steve Covino
But again, a quarterback swap that benefited both cities. And you're right, two big stars. So when Danny G brought that up and I forgot who brought it up, I was like, yeah, that's probably the only thing even remotely close, and it's not even close to what we're experiencing right now, which makes it so exciting. And it makes it really ironic that we're talking NBA on the first day of radio row at super bowl week in New Orleans. Never thought that that's how significant this move was.
Rich Davis
It was so big. Because think about when LeBron said, Yo, we own Christmas Day, and the numbers come out and there's like 10 times many people watching football than basketball. But when you talk about what's a trade of this magnitude, keep in mind, I agree with you that Goff wasn't the star that Stafford was. But Goff had taken that Rams team to a Super Bowl. And if you remember, that was a team that lost 13 to 3 to the Patriots in what arguably was one of the more boring defensive Super Bowls where they could only put up three against the Patriots. So that's why the Rams started saying, we got a great squad here, but we only put up three in the Super Bowl. So that's when they said, let's make the move for Stafford. Stafford ends up winning a Super Bowl. So then it's like, all right, advantage Rams, they got Stavert and won. But then the last two years, you're like, wow, Goff really settled into Detroit.
Steve Covino
Oh, yeah.
Rich Davis
And up until they floundered in the divisional round, people thought, oh, now Detroit's got their guy and he's an MVP candidate. So Goff and Stafford, if you could think of another. I can't.
Steve Covino
Not this big, you know, Significant, yes, But player for player, two superstars, you know, with stats. Yeah.
Danny G
Nothing matches this.
Steve Covino
No, it's. It's wild. I mean, you have to go back to 1918, when the Yankees got Babe Ruth, honestly. And I don't even know who they traded for him. I have no idea how that works out.
Rich Davis
Someone said, maybe put Paul George, sga, in that conversation, but SGA was just an un. Not an unknown, but not a proven superstar the way he is.
Danny G
Yeah, he was an upcoming. A rising star.
Rich Davis
A rising star. So I don't know if he could even put that one in there. So if you have any other answers, or 8, 7, 7, 99 on FOX.
Steve Covino
Now, let me pose this question too. Again, there's lots of questions that we pose from this trade. Who wins? Did LeBron know? Biggest trade ever. Is anyone safe? Are the owners flexing? Here's one more question to think about and then we'll get your feedback. Apparently the story today is Luka just bought a house.
Rich Davis
Apparently, apparently not yet. Not like a little beach cabana. He bought a $15 million mansion that he closed on last week in Dallas.
Danny G
So a big deal AD just got a new property in Southern California as well. So both of these guys, both of.
Steve Covino
These guys in an awkward situation, you know, this move from Texas to LA affects Luka. With that Max deal, he loses $117 million in the process. He bought this house, right? Their lives get turned upside down. But when you realize that AD bought a house in LA and Luka bought a house in Dallas, if somebody knew ahead of time, if put it this way, the owners knew, right? They were talking about for about a month, Dallas only went to la. That was the other part of the story. They only went to LA to negotiate. Nowhere else. Nobody else. But if somebody were to find out, do they owe that information to the player before they were to purchase something? Because I know Rich and I have a story. I know you have a personal story about a radio friend of yours. So think about that. Like, if you found out your buddy was going to get fired and he was about to buy a house, would you feel it to be the right thing to do in your heart to be like, yo, dude, before you bought that house, before you invest your money, I just want to let you know.
Rich Davis
I heard a little something.
Steve Covino
I heard some rumblings about your future here. Like, what would you do in that situation? Plus, we got things that made you go super bowl week edition here on the show.
Rich Davis
Plus a question about cooking for the big game for the Super Bowl. All that and more. We got Covino and Rich right here live from New Orleans super bowl media row, FOX Sports Radio. Let's go.

I think that's what he said. I forget. Well, enjoy those bad boys again. It's a pleasure to be here, Radio Row. I said it before, it's day one. This is the calm before the storm. Because as the week goes on, the celebrities roll in and we have tons of interviews. It's always a thank you, Fox Sports Radio Nation for being part of it. And now we're. We're ready. Are we ready? Danny J. It's time for last one stand. Hit it.
Danny G
You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia.
Rich Davis
Life, man.
Iowa Sam
Ah, I gotta. Yeah, I don't got it. I don't got it.
Danny G
Put your electronic devices down and pick your sports knowledge. It's CNR's last one standing.
Rich Davis
Last one standing.
Danny G
All right, I have four categories ready to go. If needed a tiebreaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to stay alive in the round. If you run out of time or you answer incorrectly, Iowa. Sam will take you out with his big bad buzzer.
Rich Davis
Thank you, Sam.
Danny G
We keep battling until you are the last one standing. If you win two of the rounds, you are the top dog. Here are the contestants. Four time winner, Steve Covino.
Steve Covino
Hell yeah.
Danny G
To his right here in New Orleans, eight time winner, Rich dav.
Rich Davis
Better than Brady, man.
Steve Covino
Eight times says no one ever.
Danny G
It's powdered sugar back in the studio until he gets here. Tuesday. 23 time winner, Dan Byer.
Iowa Sam
Still mad about that Washington answer from last week.
Steve Covino
Oh, geez.
Danny G
And we're gonna go to the studio lines to see who's playing for a CNR stainless steel Swiggy. It is Mark in San Bernardino.
Rich Davis
Hey, Mark.
Danny G
Yes, sir.
Bobby Bones
Hello.
Danny G
Hey, Mark, what do you do for a living there in the ie? I hear a social worker here. The eminent empire has been busy, busy all day today. As a matter of fact, at the corner we have some people protesting for their country and other countries. That's another topic on another show. But here we are. I know.
Rich Davis
Hopefully you can focus here.
Danny G
All right.
Steve Covino
By the way, joining us, man, spot.
Danny G
Is the fact checker during this game.
Dan Byer
I hate it so much.
Danny G
All right, when I say your name, the clock is gonna begin. First category. Fumble your chances. You have five seconds to name an NFL team. Who was top 15 in turnovers in 20, 24. Top 15 turnovers. All right, Covino, you're going to be up first. And the clock starts now.
Steve Covino
Let's go with the Jaguars.
Dan Byer
Jaguars, yes. Number nine, 24.
Danny G
Rich.
Rich Davis
I'm going to go New York football. Giants.
Dan Byer
Giants. Number 10 with 23, buyer.
Iowa Sam
I'll go with the Titans.
Dan Byer
Titans. Number 2 with 34.
Danny G
Yeah. Good ball, Mark. In San Bernardin. I'll go with the Browns.
Dan Byer
Browns number one, 34.
Rich Davis
Look at that.
Steve Covino
That's why Garrett wants out. All right, Covino, I'm gonna go with the jets here.
Dan Byer
Jets are not on the list.
Steve Covino
One, you're out. Loser.
Dan Byer
Loser. Loser.
Steve Covino
Yahoo.
Rich Davis
Is it hurt?
Danny G
All right, Rich.
Rich Davis
Danny G. I'm sorry to say this. You're Raiders.
Dan Byer
Raiders. Number four with 29 guys.
Iowa Sam
Saints had to turn the ball over a lot, right?
Dan Byer
They are not in the.
Steve Covino
Oh, call him a loser.
Dan Byer
I didn't.
Danny G
Stand by, Mark.
Steve Covino
Titans.
Dan Byer
I already used it.
Danny G
Quickly, another one.
Steve Covino
Oh, the patriots.
Dan Byer
Patriots number 11. 23.
Danny G
Nice back to Rich.
Rich Davis
The Bears of Chicago.
Dan Byer
The Bears of Chicago are not on the list.
Steve Covino
Damn it.
Danny G
That means Mark, Congratulations.
Rich Davis
All right, Mark, you got one point.
Steve Covino
Good round, Mark.
Iowa Sam
Mark.
Danny G
Halfway to a swiggy miss.
Dan Byer
The Niners, Bengals, Bucs, Colts.
Rich Davis
Cowboys. Yeah.
Danny G
Your Niners.
Steve Covino
Panthers.
Dan Byer
Vikings. Seahawks.
Steve Covino
Seahawks.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Danny G
All right. How come all our favorite teams were on that list?
Iowa Sam
Right.
Rich Davis
Not a good year.
Danny G
All right, second category. Quarter stack. You have five seconds to name an NFL QB who has played in at least two Super Bowls. There are 25 answers on the board. NFL QBs played in at least two Super Bowls. All right, here we go. Mark and San Bernardino, you're going to be first. Go.
Steve Covino
Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson.
Dan Byer
Yes.
Danny G
And Byer. Yep.
Iowa Sam
Jim Kelly.
Dan Byer
Jim Kelly. Yes, with four, Rich.
Rich Davis
Terry Bradshaw.
Dan Byer
Terry Bradshaw. Yes, with four.
Danny G
Covina.
Steve Covino
John Elway.
Dan Byer
John Elway. Yes, with five.
Danny G
Back to Mark. Patrick Mahomes.
Dan Byer
Patrick Mahomes. Of course, with four.
Danny G
Byer.
Iowa Sam
Montana.
Dan Byer
Joe Montana. Yes, with four, Rich.
Rich Davis
I'll just take it because no one said Brady yet. Right?
Dan Byer
Let's just get right out of the way. There you go.
Iowa Sam
Thanks, Rich.
Rich Davis
Thanks for joining us. Still the easy one.
Dan Byer
Thanks, Rich.
Danny G
Yeah, thanks, Govino.
Steve Covino
I'll go with an either one. Anyone see Mahomes yet?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Eli Manning.
Danny G
Eli Manning.
Dan Byer
Two. Yeah.
Danny G
Yeah. Okay. And back to Mark.
Steve Covino
Peyton Manning.
Dan Byer
I heard Peyton Manning. That's four. Yes.
Danny G
Good call, Buyer.
Iowa Sam
Ben Ross. Roethlisberger.
Dan Byer
Roethlisberger. Three.
Danny G
All right, Rick.
Rich Davis
Jim Plunkett.
Dan Byer
Jim Plunkett. Yes. He is on the list.
Danny G
Yeah, baby. Covino.
Steve Covino
Anyone see Russell Wilson?
Rich Davis
Yep.
Danny G
Yep.
Steve Covino
Steve Young.
Dan Byer
Steve Young.
Rich Davis
Yes.
Dan Byer
That's two. Two appearances. Two appearances.
Iowa Sam
Oh, he made appearances.
Steve Covino
Yes.
Dan Byer
Not wins.
Steve Covino
No.
Rich Davis
No appearances.
Steve Covino
Yes.
Danny G
Yeah. Played and get in the game. Super Bowls.
Iowa Sam
Maybe he got in the game. Yeah, maybe.
Danny G
Maybe it shows him as two.
Dan Byer
Yeah.
Danny G
Okay. Played in at least two. Yeah.
Steve Covino
All right.
Dan Byer
Fair.
Rich Davis
This list Is confusing.
Danny G
I'll have to double check that one.
Rich Davis
Can I. Who's up?
Iowa Sam
I think it's me.
Danny G
It's Byers.
Iowa Sam
Kurt Warner.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Kurt Warner. Yes.
Danny G
Rich.
Rich Davis
Bart Starr.
Dan Byer
Bart Starr. No.
Iowa Sam
Yeah. He should be.
Dan Byer
No, no.
Rich Davis
He should be smart.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Really.
Rich Davis
One and two.
Danny G
It's a stat news list here.
Iowa Sam
Oh, boy. I know we left it up to the game.
Dan Byer
Cut off after 20. Maybe after 25.
Danny G
Yeah, he's out. Who's all right, you know what?
Steve Covino
You know what?
Dan Byer
Yes.
Rich Davis
Take a word for it. Come on.
Danny G
For sure he is. Okay. Covino.
Steve Covino
Troy Aikman.
Rich Davis
Good one.
Dan Byer
Good 1. Yeah. 3.
Danny G
And back to Mark. Brett Favre.
Dan Byer
Yep.
Danny G
Byer.
Iowa Sam
Bob Griesy.
Dan Byer
Yep.
Danny G
Rich.
Rich Davis
Joe Theisman.
Steve Covino
Oh, yes.
Danny G
Yeah. Good one, Covin.
Dan Byer
That's a good round.
Danny G
I know.
Dan Byer
Those are good.
Steve Covino
Does Jalen hurts count this year? I mean, it's not quite Sunday, but yes.
Iowa Sam
It's a good poll.
Danny G
That is Mark Van Roethlisberger. I already said quickly.
Steve Covino
Oh, it was already set.
Danny G
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Okay. There's paying.
Danny G
Maddie.
Steve Covino
They said Drake, man.
Danny G
We'll go with.
Steve Covino
Get out of there.
Danny G
Buyer.
Iowa Sam
Roger Staubach.
Dan Byer
Yes.
Danny G
Yes, sir.
Rich Davis
Rich, we're down to the slim pickings now.
Dan Byer
Very impressed.
Danny G
Three, two, one.
Rich Davis
Boomer Sison's not right. It's not right. Yeah, but we're running one left.
Danny G
Covino.
Rich Davis
There'S no way you're pulling. We're down to the slim pick.
Steve Covino
Randall Cunningham. I don't know. Not yet.
Danny G
No. Byers. The last one standing in that.
Iowa Sam
Tarkington.
Danny G
Yes.
Steve Covino
With an exclusion point.
Iowa Sam
He didn't start. He didn't start. Earl Morrell started, I think.
Rich Davis
Super Bowl. Yeah.
Danny G
Earl Moral is on the list.
Dan Byer
Kubiak.
Rich Davis
I have a problem with this list, with the Steve Young answer, because I don't know when Steve Young played in a Super Bowl. Unless the game. The Niners beat the Broncos 55, 10 in the fourth quarter. Did they give Steve Young, like, a snap?
Danny G
We'll have to have our crack staff get on top of that.
Rich Davis
I'm debating this. All right, go on.
Danny G
Mark and Byer, each with a point as we go to the third category. Test of time. You have five seconds to name an NBA player. You have five seconds to name an NBA player whose all time, for most games played, will take the top 20. Covino.
Steve Covino
LeBron James.
Dan Byer
LeBron James.
Danny G
Yes. Yes, sir. Rich.
Rich Davis
Vince Carter.
Dan Byer
Yes.
Danny G
Byer. Top 20.
Iowa Sam
Tim Dynam. Duncan.
Dan Byer
Tim Duncan. Yes. Love it. Sorry.
Danny G
All right. We lost Mark in San Bernardino, so we go to Covina.
Steve Covino
I hope he's all right. He's in the middle of a protest. I know. Let's go with Kareem.
Dan Byer
Kareem. Yes.
Danny G
Rich.
Rich Davis
Man, oh, man.
Danny G
Three, two, one.
Rich Davis
Tony Parker.
Dan Byer
Tony Parker.
Danny G
No, Buyer.
Iowa Sam
Kevin Durant.
Dan Byer
Kevin Durant. No.
Danny G
Oh. Covino's the winner.
Steve Covino
Should I throw one out there just for fun?
Dan Byer
Yeah, go for it.
Danny G
Bill Russell for most games played.
Steve Covino
No, really, I win anyway.
Iowa Sam
Say less.
Steve Covino
There you go. I was going for the exclamation.
Iowa Sam
He was taunting us. He was taunting us.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Robert Parrish had the most.
Steve Covino
I was a bigger fan of Larry Parish.
Dan Byer
Kobe was on this list.
Steve Covino
Lance Parish.
Danny G
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Kevin Garnett.
Danny G
All right, quickly. Byer and Cove are tied here as we go to the fourth category. Playoff prominence. You have five seconds to name an NFL qb who has the most all time passing yards in the playoffs. All time passing yards in the playoffs will take the top 25. Buyer, we're going to start with you. And the clock goes now. Brett Favre.
Dan Byer
Yep. Number five.
Danny G
Rich.
Rich Davis
Tom Brady. Just to get out of the way.
Dan Byer
All right, number one.
Rich Davis
Are you supposed to leave it on the table?
Danny G
Covino.
Dan Byer
No. Mahomes. Yes.
Danny G
Number Byer?
Iowa Sam
Peyton Manning.
Dan Byer
Peyton Manning. Yes. Number seven. Number two.
Danny G
Sorry, Rich.
Rich Davis
Steve Young.
Dan Byer
Steve Young. Yes.
Danny G
Covino.
Steve Covino
I was thinking Joe Montana.
Dan Byer
Joe Montana. Yes. Number six.
Danny G
Two niners in a row. Buyer.
Iowa Sam
I'll go Roethlisberger.
Dan Byer
Roethlisberger.
Danny G
Number three, Rich True Brees.
Dan Byer
Drew Brees. Number eight.
Danny G
Covino.
Steve Covino
Is Joe Burrow in this?
Dan Byer
Joe Burrow is not in this.
Danny G
Hey, back to Byer Elway.
Dan Byer
Elway.
Steve Covino
Let's see.
Rich Davis
Of course.
Danny G
Yes. Yes.
Dan Byer
Sorry. Number nine.
Rich Davis
Just based on the four super bowl runs. Back to back. Jim Kelly. On this list. Just.
Dan Byer
Jim Kelly is number 13.
Rich Davis
Yep.
Danny G
All right. Byer.
Iowa Sam
Gosh. Philip Rivers.
Dan Byer
Philip Rivers. Yeah.
Danny G
Back to Rich.
Rich Davis
Aaron Rodgers.
Dan Byer
Aaron Rodgers. Number four.
Danny G
Back to Buyer.
Iowa Sam
Guys, you gotta give me more time on this.
Dan Byer
Yeah. Five times.
Iowa Sam
Troy Aikman.
Dan Byer
Troy Aikman. Yes. Number 14.
Danny G
Back to Rich. Got a volley here. Three, two.
Rich Davis
Donovan McNabb.
Dan Byer
Donovan McNabb is on this list.
Rich Davis
Number 16.
Iowa Sam
Gosh, that was a slow countdown, Danny.
Danny G
Right.
Steve Covino
Slow down, James.
Iowa Sam
My goodness. It's not like I'm stalling here complaining.
Danny G
Three extra seconds.
Iowa Sam
Yeah, don't worry about. Hey, Danny. Don't worry about it at all. Don't worry about it. No.
Danny G
3, 2, 1.
Iowa Sam
Phil Simms.
Danny G
No. What do you say?
Iowa Sam
No, I just said Phil Simms.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Phil Simms.
Danny G
We have a three way tie, so we'll go to the update and we will come back with the tie break.
Rich Davis
Perfect. Dan Byer. What's going on? Give us your update, my friend. Look at this. A tie game. What's up?
Iowa Sam
Browns defensive end Miles Garrett has requested a trade out of Cleveland. The reigning defensive player of the year says it's always been his goal to win a Super bowl. In this statement says the goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton. Browns have responded to Garrett's request by saying they have no plans on trading him as he's under contract through 2026. Commander's owner Josh Harris says the team will not be changing their nickname. Ravens signed offensive coordinator Todd Monkin to a contract extension. Bucks without Giannis Dame and Chris Middleton tonight against Oklahoma City. Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton is going to retire at the end of this season. 23 years as the head coach of the Seminoles basketball program and one note from Major League Baseball as I my screen has just gone blank here, but Major League Baseball and commissioner Rob Manfred today banning umpire Pat Hoberg after he was tied to a shared betting account, saying it was a friend. They said they found that Hoberg had no malicious activity or that any of the action was tied to changing games. However, he did intentionally delete messages that were tied to the investigation. Guys, back to you.
Rich Davis
Thanks.
Justin Penick
Thank you, D.B.

What do you find to be more motivation? That and more super bowl experiments? We'll discuss that on the show. But we got to wrap this heated battle.
Danny G
Oh, yeah.
Steve Covino
Of last one standing.
Danny G
Yeah. And by the way, Rich was right. Steve Young took three snaps. See, when he backed up Joe Montana in his second super bowl, there had.
Rich Davis
To be reason why. Yeah, Young was on that list.
Danny G
Good call by you. All right, here's the tie break. No multiple choice. It's whoever comes closest. Just buzz in with your name to go first. Here's the question for buyer, covino and rich, 3 way tie. How many ints has Josh Allen thrown so far in his 7 year NFL care? How many interceptions for Josh Allen so far in his seven year NFL career?
Rich Davis
Seven years.
Danny G
Buzz in with your name if you want to go first.
Iowa Sam
I'll go first.
Danny G
All right, buyer.
Iowa Sam
I'll say 63.
Rich Davis
Okay, okay. Damn, Buyer. I'm not even. I'm not playing like the price is right. $1 game. But I actually wrote that before you said that. I wrote down 69. I wrote 69. So 69.
Steve Covino
What do you got? I'm gonna play that $1 game because I wrote something a lot higher. So I'll say 72.
Danny G
72. He has thrown 84 interceptions. That is Covino's fourth win. Is that your story, baby?
Steve Covino
Don't try to J me. That's right. I did it.
Rich Davis
Who do you think you are?
Steve Covino
I am.
Danny G
That is Covino's fifth win, last one standing. Thank you to everyone for playing.
Iowa Sam
I'm just as happy that. That he won.
Steve Covino
Hell, yeah. Thank you.
Dan Byer
You're a Cavino guy.
Steve Covino
You know what, Dan? When you get out here to New Orleans later this week, we'll celebrate.
Iowa Sam
Hell, yeah.
Steve Covino
Thank you, man.
Rich Davis
Drinks on Camino. He won the big game. Appreciate it, D.B. looking forward to seeing you out here, buddy.
Iowa Sam
You, too, fellas.
Steve Covino
All right.
Rich Davis
Have a good night, bud. Now, listen, tonight we're gonna. Are we gonna hit the field spot or what?
Steve Covino
Yeah. Be at the opening night. Opening night, it's going to be at Caesar Superdome. Obviously, we went there last year. We go every year. It's like a big media night where everybody's interviewing the players and we always run into a bunch of people and we have a ton of stories. So we'll come back tomorrow with all sorts of observations from being on the field, which is always a thrill.
Rich Davis
And I do find it also humorous to watch Kavino try to balance his eating and drinking throughout a week.
Steve Covino
Oh, yeah. I mean, part of this is pacing yourself. It really is, because it's a lot of boozing and schmoozing. Meanwhile, you still have a lot of work to do.
Rich Davis
Yeah, no doubt. So, hey, we'll have some fun tonight, and we will report back tomorrow all of our findings. Now, I do think tomorrow is an interesting thought because Kavino and I are going to debate. We totally disagree on who has more to lose or win when it comes to the Eagles and Chiefs. And I know you have some good thoughts on because you always have this narrative, like, who wants it more or who needs it more? Like, I don't believe in those things. So we'll get to that tomorrow live here from New Orleans. We'll have some grits, have some hurricanes, and we'll check back in tomorrow. Until then, check out the pod. Wherever you get your podcast search, convene on Rich. Until then, arrivederci, baby.
Steve Covino
See you in the promised land. Goodbye. Goodbye, guys.
