Very good movie. That was a turning point in humor, by the way. That's when I realized the humor's changing a lot because I didn't like the movie at first. Now I love it. Cult classic, uberly successful considering the budget it was made on. Napoleon Dynamite voted for Pedro, did all that stuff. The order is that.

Was that the last time you voted or did you vote for Bo Bias on American Idol? I forget.

[Rich Davis]

Coming in at number two, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. And by far, not even close. E.T. number one. E.T. is a magical mammothian movie of the 80s, as great as Ferris Bueller is. And it's one of the classics. We discussed that recently. ET Is on another level of cinematic masterpiece that goes down in history. It's so heart wrenching. You can only watch it here and there. Ferris Bueller's on all the time.

[Covino]

ET Was also kind of creepy, though, for us when we were little kids.

[Danny G]

You know, our order is scared of it.

[Covino]

Our order is not terribly different because of the scientists. Remember in the big suits they had on those tunnels?

[Rich Davis]

It was a little scary. It was. But it was magical. There was a unit. Is there a universe? Was there a universal ride for Ferris Bueller? I see absolutely no. There was a ride for ET for years. And you're flying on your bicycle, riding across the moon with E.T. give me a break. Ferris Bueller is great, but it's a.

[Danny G]

Number two here, a child known as Drew Barrymore. Reese's Pieces getting their big break as Eminem's is like, nah, the aliens are scary. So many great stories behind the movie.

[Rich Davis]

I didn't have Ferris Bueller Bedsheets.

[Danny G]

My list is slightly different. Napoleon Dynamites, definitely number four.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah. They're all great, though. So let's be clear on that. They're all good for what they are. I think.

[Danny G]

Ferris Bueller, number three.

[Rich Davis]

Okay.

You forget that Austin Powers, that was a big deal. Mike Myers, that's number two. But ET Home phone. Phone Home.

ET Is. Is number one.

Which makes me want to remind everyone I've sat down with my kids. My kids are 8 and 5.

[Rich Davis]

I'm surprised because I knew you were always a Mac and Me kind of guy.

[Danny G]

I love Mac and me, too. I would put that number one. I have sat down with my kids. We've watched Goonies together.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah.

[Danny G]

And I'm trying to go through all the classics. Right.

[Rich Davis]

ET Is a touchy one because like Danny G said, it's gonna be a rollercoaster of they're scared. They're gonna cry at the end the first time. My sister Dawn. Yes. Sloth is a little scary.

[Danny G]

There's a little scariness of One Eyed Willie and all that.

[Rich Davis]

My sister dawn, when she was a little kid, wept. Wept when she saw E.T. like, uncontrollable. Like Dawn. It's gonna be all right. It's an emotional movie for a little kid.

[Danny G]

So I just want to remind everyone some of these classics. It's interesting to see what stands the test of time. My kids really liked Goonies. My wife insisted that they watch Homeward Bound. They like that, too.

[Rich Davis]

It's like wizard of Oz. It's a little touchy because it's magical, but it's scary. With the Witch, for little kids, there's a time and place.

[Danny G]

My daughter watched wizard of Oz before I took her to see Wicked. She's 8, which I thought was right around the right age.

[Rich Davis]

That's a good age. Yeah.

[Danny G]

And I'm shocked that I haven't even thought to break out E.T.

[Rich Davis]

Now you put that number one. So we agree on that.

[Danny G]

Yeah.

[Rich Davis]

Anybody else, I thought have an order that differs or.

[Danny G]

At first I thought ET And Austin Powers were close because you're out of your mind. But you forget the influence.

[Rich Davis]

Goofy ass movie. That isn't even number two, but whatever. So one is a comedy. First of all, comedies will never be in that category, but doesn't even come close to E.T.

[Danny G]

Okay.

[Rich Davis]

And the magical feeling it gave to every little kid in the 80s that wanted to ride their BMX across the sky.

[Danny G]

No, man, we don't have to fight about it. Jeez. I'm kidding.

[Rich Davis]

Does anybody else agree or disagree?

[Covino]

Yeah, I think Austin Powers in Napoleon are close at 4 and 3.

[Rich Davis]

I'm gonna give the the edge to Napoleon Dynamite, though, because, like, at home, we quote that movie more often, and I think it just left more of an impact.

[Rich Davis]

No, I mean, I liked Austin Powers, and then I would go E.T.

[Danny G]

It'S not my baby.

And Ferris Bueller, number one.

Wow. Okay. All right. I could see that. I mean, we talked about it last week, how. How huge that movie is. We said it was the number one comedy drama, teen comedy drama of the 80s, so I could see that. But E.T. is like, upper echelon, cinematic masterpiece.

[Danny G]

I also feel that there's this interesting dichotomy, if you will, between ET and what Napoleon Dynamite is and how they were made, who they were made by, and everything that came with it. So I think that E.T. is this machine. But part of what made Napoleon Dynamite great was the simplicity of it in that aspect. Yeah.

[Covino]

They barely spent any money to make it.

[Spot]

Yes. So that's what I find is interesting in all of this. I had Ferris Bueller, number one. I would put Napoleon Dynamite 2 on my list because I feel I reference it more than I do anything of Austin Powers. And I was just too. I wasn't too young for E.T. i remember. But in these other three movies would be like, Wheelhouse of teenager, early 20s.

[Danny G]

Where I'm watching rewatches where ET you might have seen twice in your life. Correct.

[Rich Davis]

Not to date myself. And I know it's shocking, being how young and spry and handsome I look and everything, but I remember seeing E.T. in the theater. Yeah.

[Danny G]

What are you, 80?

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, I did. So as a little 80s kid, I was like, this is the greatest movie. I was trying to hold back my bottle tears.

[Covino]

You were the first to try Reese's Pieces.

I had my little red sweatshirt. Man, I wanted to be like Elia.

[Danny G]

Well, on this day, they all came out. Now, before we get to Jameis Winston.

[Rich Davis]

This is like a magical movie day. Yeah.

Before we get to Jameis Winston and some NFL and some NBA Finals. Does each of those four movies have E.T. phone home?

[Rich Davis]

See, he doesn't phone home. What? I thought he says home phone. I thought there was a Mandela effect.

[Danny G]

I think in the part where he's in the bedroom with Elliot. He says, home phone. See, look at you convincing me.

[Rich Davis]

Remember he got twisted, too? Remember how drunk he got? That guy?

[Danny G]

Remember when the flower came back to life? I remember as a little kid being like. Like, crying.

[Sam]

Well, Elliot starts with an E, ends with a T. E, T. They're synced up.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, the boy.

[Sam]

Because, like, their health is. Is aligned.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah. Magical movie.

[Danny G]

If there is there a. Obviously, we said ET Phone home. Are there. Is there a quote from each of those movies where, like, that's the quote. This Ferris wheel. Life moves pretty fast.

Well, no, ET Phone Home is the one everybody says, so I'd say probably that from Austin Powers. Yeah, baby. Yeah.

There is a quote from the beginning of ET Where Elliot calls his brother something very offensive and it blanks breath.

The absolute funniest thing I've ever heard. And it's an insult that will live on forever.

There's so many from Napoleon Dynamite. If the kids are complaining there's nothing to eat. My wife will always say, go make yourself a damn Casadilla. If Steak. Tina, if you vote for me, all of your wildest dreams will come true.

Do you know how many people are just realizing that Uncle Rico is the dude from the White Lotus? Yeah, people haven't put that together. Uncle Rico is. Is it Gary? Is that who it is? Jerry Gary from the White Lotus? Is that the character's name?

I don't think that guy's had a lot of roles. I don't think he has any hair in White Lotus.

Right, exactly. He's bald in the white lot.

And obviously, honestly, in Napoleon Dynamite, he looks like he's wearing a wig there, too. But, yeah, my same guy.

Yeah, but E.T. you got to bust out the popcorn. Everyone's got to shut up. You got to pay attention. No talking over the movie. No busting out the phone. You know what I mean? It's one of those special ones. Now, we ended yesterday's show with this, so we have to continue today. We got to talk over promise. By the way, if you have any thoughts on these movies, 87799 on Fox. But we talked about Jameis Winston and what a colorful guy he is and how funny he is and how great he is just as a personality. The story was that former New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram shared that Jameis Winston once gave a speech that started with the prayer. So you can imagine that, right? They're all praying. He's doing his thing. But the prayer, yeah, you can totally see him doing that. The prayer ended with him singing the Monday Night Football theme song. So talk about a roller coaster again, of emotions.

He went from Ephesians 4:32 to Faith Hill.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah. Are you ready for the football?

[Danny G]

Oh, he went from Corinthians to Hank.

Comeback. There you go. So now, based on that, because that sounds kind of odd. There's been some great speeches in sports history, in TV history, but we want to go over some of the worst ones, because how could you take anybody serious when they're doing this full on prayer into that goofiness, which is the theme song. And again, I get it. Loosen everybody up. It's fun, it's memorable. It's all those things. But based on that, some of the worst speeches that come to mind.

[Danny G]

Did he do the Monday night theme in spoken word? Like, are you ready for some football? A Monday night party. We got Frank, Al, and Dan to get a Kickstarter. Like, did he say it in. In word or song?

[Rich Davis]

No, it says, oh, singing, singing. It ended with him singing the Monday Night Football theme song. You can imagine what the other teammates must have been thinking, like, watching this go down. But this guy's so in his zone. As we've come to Notice in the past few years. So that's the story of Jameis Winston told by Mark Ingram. And when it comes to. By the way, it ties into your previous discussion, Rich, about the movies. When you think about the worst speeches, the one that comes to mind, I think for most people, and correct me if I'm wrong, because we open it up to everybody. 87799 on Fox. I think the worst speech is from one of my favorite movies. Didn't come out on this day, but we all saw the Wedding Singer Steve Buscemi at Cindy Scott and Cindy's Wedding. Whoopada doo. Yeah. When Steve Buscemi does his speech, I think that's everybody's reference to, like, the worst speech ever.

[Danny G]

Cause it's so hard.

[Rich Davis]

When my brother Harold asked me to be the best man at his wedding, I was like, oh, of course, man. Cause you've always been there for me.

[Sam]

That's right.

[Rich Davis]

When I was in rehab. And at the time, I couldn't find my car. Cause Harold, you know, he's always been the dependable one and I've always been the screwed up one. Right, dad? Why can't you be more like your brother?

[Danny G]

Harold wouldn't ever beat up his landlord he's in front of.

[Rich Davis]

But little news flash, Pop. Harold ain't so perfect. Remember that time in Puerto Rico when we picked up those two? Well, I guess they were prostitutes, but I don't remember paying.

Okay, how about that?

[Rich Davis]

How about that? Yeah, terrific. I'm a person too, Pop. I'm a person too. You're a moron. Okay, the best man, everybody. Best man. The better man. And who does great? He, like, stumbles off the stage. Like, the way he falls is so great. Like, Steve Buscemi owned that. Worst best man speech ever. I think that's a lot of our generations go to when you have the thought of worst speeches ever. It could be in your personal life. It could be from a movie. It could be something you saw at a sporting event. Could have been in a huddle. You were in.

[Danny G]

Yeah, bro. Did you see that clip from like a month ago on social media, where the dudes at his anniversary party, but he knows his wife was cheating on him.

[Rich Davis]

It was his 40th birthday.

[Danny G]

Oh, it's his 40th birthday?

[Covino]

Yeah.

[Rich Davis]

It was the fireman from New Jersey, if I'm not mistaken. He was from. Was it Bayonne or Belleville or Bloomfield? I forget where he was from. But yeah, he's celebrating his 40th, and.

[Danny G]

Everyone at first thinks he's goofing around. He's like, yeah, I know, Galante. I know, because you're a hooah. And he goes off saying like, I know you did this, I know you did that. And he goes off on the wife, and everyone's like, oh, my God, is this for real? And he used that opportunity, went viral.

[Rich Davis]

Yes. It broke the Internet, as they say, Jersey fireman. And it was an absolutely true story. When things like that happen, your first thought is, this is staged. This is fake. This is for the clicks, for the gram. But this was a real one. Look, I'm from Jersey. And it got around where everyone's like, yeah, I know that dude. And, yeah, it's real. And this is what happened. And absolutely real story. If you haven't seen it, it's the most awkward thing you've ever seen because everyone's there to celebrate the guy and he pulls a Buscemi. Like, yeah, yeah. I will say this. The key to speeches, while we take your feedback, I think, is not to make it about yourself at all. I know it was a movie, but before he even went off, what makes the Steve Buscemi thing funny and relatable is that we've all been somewhere where someone does a speech and somehow they start making it about them all the time, every time. I always find it odd when, like, awkward part of a wedding, even when a bride, bridesmaids, like. I remember when me and Jessica were in second grade, we were at my house for a slumber party. It's like, no one cares about you or your slumber party. We're here for her wedding. To that dude. Wish him well toasted and call today.

[Rich Davis]

Let me please express this. I don't think I've ever said this on Fox Sports Radio. People who know me and. And have grown with the show on Patreon know this. But that's why I got married in Vegas and Elvis was there. The whole formality of the speeches and first dances and I get it special and all that, but it's so awkward to me. It makes my Stomach turn, so I wanted to avoid all of that.

[Danny G]

So you thought having Elvis marry you was better?

[Rich Davis]

I just wanted to get it out of the way, dude. I didn't want to deal with any of that stuff because it's so awkward.

How about some speeches from coaches to bring it back to sports? This made me think of like, five, six years ago on Hard Knocks. Remember Jon Gruden when he was going off in front of the team at practice saying, everybody's got a dream of making it in the NFL, or I got a dream of winning the super bowl, or I got a dream of being in the Pro bowl, but I'm not really into dreams anymore. I'm into effing nightmares. He said, you got to end. You got to remember someone's dream. You got to take their job, you got to take their heart.

Yeah, that took a turn.

[Danny G]

That was a hell of a cool speech. I remember that.

[Rich Davis]

And was it?

[Danny G]

You don't think it was a cool speech?

It was a little awkward.

I think it took weird turns.

I'll just say that, well, John Cruden's back in a big way. People forgave him.

[Rich Davis]

Do you remember that story from a few years ago when Marshawn lynch got in trouble for cursing at little kids in a speech and they didn't like his coaching style? Do you remember that? And the parents had an issue with it. And we're like, we talked about it originally. It's football. It's a different sort of setting. But the parents were real offended with how he was addressing the kids in those speeches and huddles because he was cursing at them. And that became an issue and a little awkward, I imagine.

[Danny G]

Well, hey, your thoughts on Jameis. The worst speeches, anything you want to bring up. And, you know, it sort of ties together with something baseball legend Adam Wainwright says that he brings up every time he talks to kids when he coaches. And it's own. His own kids. And it has to do with what he emphasizes. He said, hey, this is what he'll say for kids, I have three rules, and I'll give the kids a little speech. Be a great teammate, have fun out there, and play your hardest.

Weirdest, weakest speeches of all time. A la Jameis Winston story.

I agree with you. By the way, the most memorable bad speech is from the movie the Wedding. Singer Steve Buscemi. It's the number one answer on the.

Board, at least for our generation. Definitely.

How many times do you jokingly say, the better man?

Yeah, that one is quoted all the time. But Dan Beyer during the break, checked out Nick Galante. He was a Belleville firefighter who basically called his wife out for being a cheating no good for nothing in front of everybody. And that went viral recently. Really awkward speech that he made, but it made me think of some other stuff, too. Before we move on, what you got recently in the fight game? You always see some weird things happen because people are a little punch drunk. Anthony Joshua, when he lost a fight a few fights back, he got on the mic and started saying some crazy stuff. It's like someone grabbed the mic from this guy. That's why announcers and interviewers never want to give up their microphone, because you never know what these guys are going to do with it. This guy made an ass of himself in front of everybody.

My dad, believe it or not, shout out to Father's Day. He used to say the same Thing to me, play hard, have fun. But the last thing he would say was win. And I'm wondering if parents even broach that subject with their kids anymore, if winning even matters.

But it's interesting you would say that because Rich Davis winning is coach, sports.

That's true. No, you know, I talk about it quite a bit because it's a big part of my life. Now. I coach my daughter softball, but right now I'm coaching My son's 5U. Let me repeat that. 5U All Stars. I don't know how they even make a kid that's five and all star. It seems like the kids that were just interested, that wanted to keep playing for another month. We have our first tournament this week, and it's the first time these kids are going to play where a score is kept. So, frankly, if you guys have any advice, I would love to hear it, because I keep telling them, hey, we're here to have fun. We're here to learn the game. I love baseball. I want you to love baseball the way coach does. We're going to have fun. We're going to play harder than the other team. We're going to hustle, we're going to make friends. And this is going to be one of the best times of your life. But I have not talked about winning because I don't. I don't know. I mean, the other team's gonna try to win, but I've talked to the.

[Rich Davis]

Other coaches and tells, hey, kids, you want to be a winner or you want to be a wiener? And see what they say.

[Danny G]

It's a good one.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, that's how it started.

[Danny G]

They'll be like, yeah, I want to be a winner. I have said to the other parents.

[Rich Davis]

That'S right, because we're not weenies, am I right?

[Danny G]

I have said to the parents, every kid's going to play. No one's going to sit or anything like that. They're five. But I have said to the parents, I mean, you put money and time into this. The other team's going to try to win. So we're going to try to win, too. I know winning isn't everything at five, but we are also going to try to win.

[Rich Davis]

Plant the seed and set the foundation.

[Danny G]

And I said, you know why? Because if they win, they're going to feel good about themselves.

[Rich Davis]

We went from worse speeches to actually great motivational, actually simple teachings, but meaningful teachings of Adam Wainwright. He says, for the kids I have three rules. One, be a great teammate. Two, have fun. And three, play your hardest. Those are my three rules. Every time we get out of the car and they say them back to me and I think it's a great way to play the game. So those are his three rules. Adam Wainwright, Couldn't agree more. Famous MLB Cardinal, be a good teammate.

You're right. Try hard. And you know, I believe it was Derek Jeter who always talked about no one will out hustle him. Right.

[Rich Davis]

It's hard to beat someone that never quits. Actually Babe Ruth.

But what if Jeter had another one too? Like no one. Maybe I'm giving Jeter Babe credit.

[Rich Davis]

Babe Ruth said, hot dogs are great. See, he said, I'll have another hot dog. Yeah. And he also said, hard to beat somebody that never gives up. Right. I'm sure Jeter has some motivational Never.

You ever watch a Babe documentary? Kavino and I watched one where all the players that played with Babe that were somehow still alive. This documentary might have been 20 years ago. They all respected and loved the Babe.

It's like at the NFL draft when there's always like a hot mom or hot sister that just happens to be cheering on. It's like, wait a minute, pause. Who's that?

Roman Anthony also smacked the double yesterday, drove in a run and his mom was there all teary eyed. And it was a nice moment. So we're seeing some young superstars called up really early. These are really young kids. Between that kid from Kansas City, like I said, check Gaglione.

Denzel Clark of the A's. Denzel Clark, been up in the bigs for three weeks.

[Rich Davis]

This Roman Anthony kid.

[Danny G]

Baseball's having a moment. The superstars, the young kids. We're going to get back to the stage where you could name a few players on each team. And I call it the old starting lineup days where when you were a kid in the 80s or 90s, you can name a team and you knew the star players. There was a minute in baseball where you're like, I don't really know many guys.

[Rich Davis]

That's true, man. And I love every second of it. By the way, side story, to piggyback, what Rich is saying is as we see low ratings in the NBA finals, I imagine, Right. Even though it's Been a great battle so far. I'm not knocking the NBA, but MLB's ratings are really skyrocketing, which is crazy because they're losing that deal with espn. So we're seeing the MLB ratings really going through the roof with all these young superstars.

[Danny G]

Baseball's on the rise, NBA on the downside. Some people say a small markets in the playoffs. Your boy Clay Travis said it's the woke nature of the NBA. Did you see that, Danny?

[Covino]

Yeah. It's probably a better possibility that it's two small market teams, but we'll see what happens in Indiana tonight. I think the Pacers are going to show up. This is going to turn into a long series.

[Danny G]

I think, I think it's the fact that the fact that it's at Indiana is a great setting for game three, being that it's one one because if it was two zero and it's. I don't know, then they're. Then there they need it. But they could split in Indiana.

[Spot]

And sure, I also think this, that it's not necessarily this small market for the median, you know, aspect of it, but it also just tells you on how much the superstars matter and may tell you a little bit about SGA on if he is that guy that will transcend. I know that there's been a lot talk lately about it and I feel that it's kind of been fake because there hasn't been a lot to talk about. But I think this tells you a little bit where if it was Cleveland with LeBron, we're obviously watching because it's LeBron for that aspect. The schedule hasn't helped either. Just a lot of time between games.

[Danny G]

But I agree with everything you just said, Dan. And I agree with other people that have said, you know, you can't talk out of both sides of your mouth. You can't say we don't want these super teams, these major market teams.

[Rich Davis]

Rich is a real wiener.

[Danny G]

Maybe you can talk out of both sides of your mouth, but you can't say we don't want these super mega teams with stars in big markets. And then when you get the two homegrown small market teams that aren't paying a luxury tax, you're like, these teams stay.

It's like, what do you want?

[Rich Davis]

Do you know who they're giving a lot of the credit in the MLB to besides all the obvious young superstars we mentioned? Not the Yankees. No, they credit. It starts with superstars.

[Danny G]

Yeah.

It really starts with, well, who is the draw. And it's Shohei Ohtani, worldwide superstar, and Aaron Judge, who is a guy that moves the needle. Shohei Ohtani, dude, when he gets his last at bat in at a game, the stadium clears because they're all there to see that guy. And it's happening in every stadium. It's like. Like it starts raining or something. Everybody gets up out of their seat. All right. Aaron judging his last at bat. All right, I'm going to go beat the traffic. They all leave. All right. And because of the popularity they've created, all these other young superstars are getting that extra shine. Baseball is capitalizing.

I feel like it was about a decade, maybe eight years since I last just went to a regular season baseball game with the Dodgers a few months ago. And when Ohtani came up, I had my phone up in all four of his @ bats. So the same thing you're saying with Judge, like the same thing with Ohtani. I was the same feeling just to.

Say you saw it. Right. I got two people at bat that I snapped a photo of Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.

[Danny G]

I was at the Mets Dodgers game and no joke, I did Soto and Ohtani.

And then there's the Lynn Doors of the world. So, I mean, not to sleep on the other superstars.

[Covino]

It feels like the Pacers need Halliburton to have another big clutch moment tonight to show some star power.

[Rich Davis]

Well, yeah, what we're seeing in the NBA is the. I guess the beginning or the start of what could be, could be superstars in the future. So, hey, I'm excited about game.

[Danny G]

It's like when I play rec softball. When am I. I'm don't my last at bat. Like the eight. The eight people just leaves. Yeah, I get it.

[Rich Davis]

Everybody leaves.

[Danny G]

Hey, let me ask you this before we get to mic words of wisdom, which will be quick. I do want to ask. I was Sam, you're a huge Caitlin Clark fan and she's been on the il which has really done damage to the WNBA ratings and ticket prices, viewership ticket prices. Like it was like hundreds of dollars. Now you could get it. I think they pay you to go to the games now. Yes, that's true.

[Sam]

Not true, but yeah, I think it's like three bucks.

[Danny G]

You could get a cup of coffee. You could. Caramel macchiato costs more.

[Sam]

You get a bobblehead.

[Danny G]

Is Caitlin Clark still a bigger star in that state if the Pacers win the NBA Finals, man. Is Halliburton a bigger star than Caitlin Clark if the Pacers find out a win.

[Rich Davis]

He's done some incredible things, man. I don't know. It's a tough one. I would say no only because she's someone responsible for bringing an attention attention to an entire league.

Went on to say how grateful he was for the opportunity. Thank the players and the coaching staff. And then ultimately, in the end, thank the fans for believing in him. And supporting him from day one. Fans took to social media, posted the full page ad on social saying that it was a very classy move and really appreciate it. It sucks to lose your gig, but when you see that everybody around your colleagues, your players and your friends and family, everyone, the fans all reach out to say, yo, this, this is messed up. You know what really shocks me that this was eight days ago that it happened. It feels like forever ago. The world of sports ever. Seriously, the world of sports moves so fast. That was the most important decision I'll make in my life and I made the right one. As you know, they tied the knot on May 31. I believe in California in a special secret ceremony with several teammates in attendance. And of course I don't know if you saw that Larry David in attendance. So some fun people at their wedding.

So according to a recent anonymous poll by the Athletics, it seems that MLB players aren't too thrilled with legalized sports betting. So 133 players were polled as part of this poll from the Athletic and asked the question, has legalized sports betting changed how fans treat you or your teammates? And a whopping 78.2% said it has, saying the situation has become way more negative, especially on social media, citing how, yeah, people wouldn't say stuff to your face. Other fans yelling stuff in person about bets they've taken demanding like over unders on certain stats to players. One other player even said they got a Venmo request saying, quote, you owe me $9,000 because you blew the game. I need you to send me money or I'm going to find your family. And this isn't an isolated incident. And then. Yeah, a related story, actually, golfer Scotty Scheffler said that he had to delete his Venmo because people were either sending him money or requesting money based on sports betting. So it seems like sports betting has kind of gotten personal attacks on players. And I'm sure it's across all sports midweek or may.

This is major because it's now become such a big part of why people watch. And I get it. It adds to the excitement. It's a lot of fun when you have action on the game, but get a life, loser. You're taking it out on these professional athletes because they didn't deliver. Who wants to deliver more than them? They're the ones. No one's out there doing it. I just don't understand that mindset. I don't get it. And I don't respect the people that take things to that next level.

And look how it worked out for him. He eventually won with Texas and, you know, he's still doing his thing. Maybe he goes back to the Mets. Paul skeens has a 1.12 ERA in his last seven starts. 1.12 ERA in his last 7 starts. Starts. And he has one win to show for it in seven stars.

He gave it away. But I'm not saying you gave it away in a bad way, but give me the ERA in the seven starts again.

Yeah, 1.12 and seven starts. Realistically, you gotta get five wins out of that. Yes, you could say.

[Rich Davis]

I would say so.

You could say maybe you would think six.

You would say five to. I'm be. I was being casual by saying five. Six. If you said maybe one of those starts. The game was knotted up at one one in the sixth and he got pulled. Or five in the fifth inning. 1.12 ERA and seven starts and the guy comes away with one W. So.

[Rich Davis]

Is he winning in life? Is he getting paid? Is he with Livy done, Is he in the big leagues? Is his career trajectory on a great path? Yeah, because he's going to end up somewhere else just like the ground did. And he's probably going to win. That's great. And hopefully that's the Yankees for me. But as of now, all this effort is being wasted. They're not winning. As a result, he's not getting any wins. You know, he's getting a lot of strikeouts. And his ERA tells a different story. And that story tells that he plays for the weakest team, that's really it.

You got to wonder, is he going to be there to stick around for a Pirates rebuild? Because I don't think they'll even do that. Bob Gibson, historically, by the way, in 1968 and 69, had nine losses and 13 losses with ERAs of 1.12 and 2.18. So that's a guy that would pitch the whole game, and the team wouldn't even do anything for him. So Bob Gibson, Jacob deGrom, they're saying Randy Johnson at times. So, hey, there you go.
