And then of course Kyrie last night tore the acl, most likely out for the season and he's taking his foul shots now. Was that sweat or tears running down his face? Like in pain or in sorrow? Like what was your take on that?

It looked. It looked like it was tears because he did right? He was frustrated and I think.

Is that tears of frustration?

Seriously, frustration because he had been playing so well this season and even after Luka was traded away, he was the glue keeping the Mavs team together, especially with all the bad luck they've had with injuries.

Doesn't it remind you of when KOBE Tough, oh, 100% the free throws after a serious injury?

[Nathan King]

Oh, without a doubt man. Yeah. And the second he went down you saw the grimace on his face. When I say grimace, I'm not talking about your stupid Mets. Oh, you want grimace too now I'm talking about, you know, he looked like he was in pain. It was a sad sight. There was a lot of strength there with the fans cheering him on. He made his foul shots, his free throws. But man, sad story if he is out for the season, but if everybody else is out, then really what's there to play for anyway? Sit it out.

Yeah, and I think the reason is cove because they were hoping for when Anthony Davis returned. You saw just a glimpse in those two and a half quarters of the two of them together. So there was hope for them to get in even if it was a play in game and get into the postseason.

No, yeah, I know. But again Though it was two and a half quarters. Like, that's where, you know, it was nothing really, but really sad story. He admitted that he just realized today that Mardi Gras meant Fat Tuesday. I'm not saying I'm the expert on Fat Tuesday by any means, but I did like reasoning and I thought it out and kind of knew that.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I'm just saying I've been to figure that out already. I've been to Mardi Gras, we've been to Carnival, we've been to New Orleans a bunch of times. It never dawned on me that what'd.

[Nathan King]

You say about Bobby Carnival?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Fat Tuesday in French is Mardi Gras. And I just never connected the dots. For me, common knowledge.

[Nathan King]

Everybody know that.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

You might be learning that now. I was saying that. Danny G. Don't look so shocked.

[Danny G.]

I thought Fat Tuesday was a part of Mardi Gras, like all week.

[Nathan King]

Right?

[Danny G.]

As did I. I thought Fat Tuesday was like the special day, but the party.

[Nathan King]

Mardi Gras is just the day. And it's fat because we stuff our fat faces leading into Lent, Ash Wednesday, Mana.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

But maybe I'm not the only dope. Danny G. Did you know that?

[Mel Reid]

Did know this.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Oh. So. But I was gonna say, but then.

[Mel Reid]

Again, I'm a fat lard who ate there in New Orleans for a week straight when I was in my 20s.

[Nathan King]

And that's when I found out it's always a party. Right. So that's why I think we assume that because they do party all the time in Nolan's.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

And I just. There's a ton of bars called Fat Tuesdays and, you know, on resorts. I just never knew that Tuesday, any.

[Nathan King]

Day of the week, anytime you want, you could earn your beads anytime. You don't have to do it. Just today. Which, by the way, Rich said, like, if you haven't done that, you haven't lived.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Yeah. I think that's on a bucket list of, you know, domestic travel, New Orleans, throw some beads to someone flashing you. Isn't that sort of like checklist? Like bucket list? No, Everyone should do it once.

[Nathan King]

You ain't lived unless you did it. Now it's Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday. That's what it means now. You know, Rich just found out. We all find out things at different times, I guess.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

What's the most embarrassing thing you found out later in life? I'll admit. Another one. I may have said this on the show, but Danny G. Growing up, I was always the type of guy. I grew up in New York. I was, you know, surrounded by great bagel places and pizza. I would always get an everything bagel. Bacon, egg and cheese. Or if in Jersey, Taylor, ham, egg and cheese. But if I got it just plain, I would get butter. Because I think my family convinced me, oh, you don't like cream cheese?

[Nathan King]

And Rich said, I can't believe it's not butter.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I was not a cream cheese guy. And I'm housing a huge, big ass piece of cheesecake. And I'm like, whoa, this is delicious. And someone goes, so you said you didn't like cream cheese? I'm like, I don't. They're like, what do you think the main ingredient of cheesecake is?

[Danny G.]

You do now.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I'm like, uh, you know, I never thought about it. Uh, cream cheese, dummy. Sorry, that's mine, I'll give you that. I didn't know cream cheese was the premier ingredient.

[Nathan King]

There's always some sort of music fun fact or historical fun fact. I'm like, did I know that? I don't think I knew that. And you learn something new all the time. Like recent, not recently, but somewhat in recent history. I'm like, wait, come on. Feel the Noise is a cover song that's not an original by Quiet Riot.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I don't think that's a big one, dude.

[Nathan King]

That's.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I don't think I knew that.

[Danny G.]

Who knew that some rock geek would.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Be like, mind blown, you know? To a rock geek, that's a common knowledge thing. I'm talking about how when I was in high school, I realized that pickles and cucumbers were the same thing.

[Danny G.]

I think that's one I learned later in life, too.

[Nathan King]

That was like, then that's just you guys being boneheads.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

You gave like a nerdy rock fact, like, oh, I don't know quite right.

[Nathan King]

It's an example, you goon burger. Every once in a while you'll hear a song, you're like, oh, I didn't know that was a cover. I always thought that was an original. Or you find out, like, that's who sings it. I Didn't know that guy was in that band. I thought. I didn't know it was the same guy. You always find out something different.

[Danny G.]

I don't think I knew that. Like Peter Gabriel. And give me the two guys in Genesis, Phil Collins. Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel were in the same group together, wasn't that right?

[Mel Reid]

Well, they replaced. Yeah, he was the. Just the drummer. And then Phil Collins became the lead singer.

[Nathan King]

And drummer.

[Mel Reid]

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I don't think based on that, I was.

[Danny G.]

I don't think I knew they came from the same family tree of bands.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I don't think. I don't think a lot of people know that Michael McDonald was in the Doobie Brothers. That's one where it's like, there's people.

[Mel Reid]

Like, wait, kids don't know about Lionel Richie being in the Commodores.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

That's a great one, too.

Did they not watch what's Happening? That was a famous episode when Rerun was recording the Doobie brothers and Michael McDonald was in it.

[Mel Reid]

To bring this to sports really quick. People do this with sports logos. Been looking at them our whole life. And what you talk about, like the brewers logo and logos like what in that logo?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I didn't know the Chicago Bulls logo upside down was a robot violating a crab.

[Nathan King]

Yeah, but Danny gave you that.

[Mark Seal]

No, no, of course. But Danny G brings up a very famous one. The old school brewers logo is a baseball glove, but it's mb. It's the M and the B. And for some people's common knowledge. And for some people, oh, I was yesterday years old, so rich. Just realized Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday. Now, based on that, you can debate me all you want when it comes to fat athletes. And I say this respectfully, there's one who's above and beyond the king of them all. And you could picture him with his crown and probably six hot dogs on standby. He's smoking a cigar. I'm talking about the Babe. Yeah, baby, yeah. George Herman Ruth. Yeah.

[Mel Reid]

I thought you were going to say Bartolo.

[Nathan King]

No.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Why are you taking my number one answer?

[Nathan King]

Well, if he's the king of them all, who else comes to mind? And can you rival him in any other sport? Like who's the Babe of football? Who's the Babe of boxing? Basketball? I mean, since you brought up music, who's the Babe of rock stars? It. Meatloaf. Who's the babe of rock stars?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Meatloaf. And by the way, you talk about Jack Black, you talk about logos.

[Nathan King]

Yeah.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

In the middle of the Montreal Expos. Did you ever Notice the lowercase E for Expos. Or did you just think it was like a red, white, and blue, like M or something?

[Nathan King]

I always thought that was the stupidest logo, to be honest. It always confused me. The Montreal Expos, it looks like elo, but it's just an M. It's a tricolored M. Electric Light Orchestra. It looks like Electric Light Orchestra does. Just like the new Kia logo. Looks like Nine Inch Nails, but it does. Yeah, right. Doesn't it? So when it comes to sport, like. All right, Rich. Ready? Let's play this game. If Babe Ruth is the king of fat guys in baseball and there's others that come to mind. He already said Bartolo Cologne.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

He's definitely. He's the K. Was the king of hot dogs.

[Nathan King]

If he was the king of hot dogs on a Fat Tuesday, who is that in the world of boxing? Because I think I have the answer, and I got to give Mike, who runs this place, credit.

[Mel Reid]

Who?

[Nathan King]

Butterbean. Mike Butterbean may come to mind. Especially when you look at Mike, you think of Butterbean. You throw a goatee on Butterbean. It might be Mike, but when it comes to the Kings, Mike said George Foreman. And he might be right, because when he came back and he won that belt at, what, 41 years of age, he was not the mean, dominant, slim and trim George Foreman that you had seen against Muhammad Ali. So that might be the answer just based on his physique and his, you know, how far he took it.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

What's up, Dan Beyer?

[Mark Seal]

I just want to say two things. Number one, Mike does not run this place at all. Absolutely not. But in defense of Mike, who does not run this place, this guy has done one heck of a job over the last couple of years of getting his body in shape.

[Nathan King]

He looks good.

So how dare you, Steve Covino, take a shot like that to a guy who has worked hard, who has sat on a bike for hours apart upon hours just for a cheap little laugh.

I'm totally gonna redeem myself, David, because apparently you haven't seen Butterbean lately. He got in with Diamond Dallas Page, and he's in the best shape of his life. So clearly you haven't seen the update. I have.

I met him back to be the Cavino guy.

I met Butterbean now. Hello. He's in great shape, thanks to Diamond Dallas Page. But by the way I'll correct myself, George Foreman regained the heavyweight title at 45, and Mike brought him up immediately. I'm like, you know what?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Yeah.

[Nathan King]

In retrospect, he wasn't that fat, but he was not in great shape either.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

He was husky, right?

[Nathan King]

So he comes to mind. You can go by sport. You could just throw some names out there. Honestly, it's not even a criticism. We're giving him props today because think about it. They were unassuming, yet they took their skill level to the greatest of heights. And for that, you got to applaud them. Like John Crook comes to mind. He's always the baseball guy, right? So, yeah, he didn't look like the greatest specimen, but you know what? He was an all Star.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Again, you're naming husky guys. I'm talking Prince Fielder. That was a big fellow.

[Nathan King]

But here's the question. Who's better, him or his papa? Because they both ended with the same amount of home runs. I'm guessing 309 or something like that. Yeah, but they had the same amount of home runs. So who comes to mind? We're given props. That's really what it is on a Fat Tuesday.

[Mel Reid]

You got to think the panda, Pablo Sandoval.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

He's.

[Nathan King]

He could hit me.

[Mel Reid]

Oh, yeah. And his buttons were always bursting anywhere.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

He was a clutch big fella.

[Nathan King]

You know, that's where it translates. I think the. Well, you could say football, too, but you got to be quick in football. Baseball is such a skill sport. You could be out of shape, you could be fat and still be great. You just could be.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I mean, there's guys like Trent Williams and the 49ers that. Some say he's like, the most athletic guy in the team, but he is a monster. You wouldn't say that's fat. He's just. I don't know how to describe it.

[Nathan King]

He's just big house.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

The house. Now, Refrigerator Perry. Is that a good answer he really likes?

[Mark Seal]

It's a really good answer.

[Nathan King]

It is. And a guy was, you know, scoring touchdowns. Big boy, love to eat. You know who comes to mind in today's world, too? Alejandro Kirk of the Blue Jays. You ever see the physique on this dude? You're like, this guy's a ball player. And, yes, he's greater than we could ever be. So you got to say these things respectfully, but it's the truth.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Yeah, I think we're being kind about it now. Do you have. Do you have the call? I was Sam. Of when Bartolo Colon, who. 9 out of 10 times when pitchers would hit in the NL. I follow Bartolo closely. He was one of the fan favorites for the Mets. And you know, the guy played on a ton of teams. He was the type of guy that would swing at a pitch, wouldn't get close, and when he did get close, his helmet would fly off. He'd spin around like a T ball kid that's spinning in the batter's box. Like his at bats were not attractive. His at bats were not those that you study the tape on. They were almost Bugs Bunny cartoonish.

[Nathan King]

But he was so likable. That's why I use his cologne till this day.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Bartolo when I want to feel sexy.

[Danny G.]

Like grilled meats.

[Nathan King]

Bartolo cologne. The essence when of man when he.

Hit his lone home run. The call by Gary Cohen on SNY with the Mets. It was, it was a call that almost sounded as though the Mets won the World Series. Like the Mets hit a walk off in the playoffs. If you've never heard this, which I'm sure you have, let's reminisce on Fat Tuesday. My answer, other than the Babe in baseball has got to be Bartolo Colon.

Fat Tuesday is held the day before Ash Wednesday tomorrow. And it's a great time for Catholics or anybody to celebrate before the beginning of Lent season. So a lot of people, a lot of Catholics give up something starting tomorrow. So you stuff your fat faces today in honor of that. Who else comes to mind? I like the Refrigerator Perry answer for football boxer. We got Butterbean comes to mind. But George Foreman has to be the guy. Big George. He was big. George Foreman basketball. Who See again, when you think, you think like what the. The. The. The later years of Charles Barkley. But even then he was just a solid dude.

And he had an elastic arm. Man, he was so he was good for so long. Longevity.

The innings and empanadas. He probably ate. The guy was an inning eater.

The guy was legit. And if you see those early days of him when he was like a skinny dude on the Indians.

Vikings did not use the franchise tag on quarterback Sam Darnold, used on just two players. This packers signed kicker Brandon McManus to a three year deal while the Rams traded offensive lineman Jonah Jackson to the Bears in exchange for a sixth round pick. Cowboys had CD Lamb restructure his contract, freeing up about $20 million in cap space. They also signed offensive lineman Osa Digazua to a four year, $80 million extension. He will not they did not need to use the franchise tag on him. Dallas also resigned Corner CJ Goodwin Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks, done for the year with a torn acl. The debate this week was based on something Travis Hunter said. I mean, again, he was asked the question, but what is harder to play on both sides of the sport? Is it football or baseball? Here's what Travis Hunter said. If you missed it.

Probably me, what I do in football, because it's a.

A lot on your body. You know, Tony, he's a great player, but you got to do a lot of your football. Again, the question was, what's harder to play on both sides of the sport, football or baseball? Meaning is it harder for Travis Hunter, who plays offense and defense, or is it harder for baseball? Shohi Ohtani as a pitcher and batter?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

The answer is obvious and you can't come down on Travis Hunter. It was a quick answer to a quick question at a combine rate.

[Nathan King]

That's the other thing that people need to keep in mind when it comes to quotes and a lot of things we discuss here on Fox Sports Radio. Well, why did they say that? Hey, did you hear what Travis Hunter said? Yeah. Well, he was asked the question. That's what people need to keep in mind sometimes. Now that he said it like he was calling out Shohei Ohtani.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Calling out baseball. Someone asked him a question that needs to be explained.

You hear Covino, he's on Fox Sports talking about how all he's talking about.

I don't agree with him. I don't think anyone should. Does he make a point? It's almost like a two part answer. Football is going to be more toll on your body, but is it a harder sport to play both ways? No way. You got to be exceptional in baseball.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I think it's A. I'm not saying both sides. I'm not saying it's a short conversation, but I sort of think it is because there's two layers, like you just said, the physical wear and tear and what it does to your body.

[Nathan King]

Yeah, you could be more gas playing both sides of football to play in the NFL.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Forget college. I mean, he was a, you know, star player in college, Heisman Trophy winner. To play in college on both sides of the ball and do that in the NFL is extraordinary. The fact that you could line up on both sides of the ball and defend the pass and then also make, you know, ridiculous catches at a professional.

[Nathan King]

And that's, you know, elite level, too.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

What that does to your body is something no one's experienced. That's insane. But Justin Jefferson, if he needed to, could play defensive back. If you were like, yo, we're in the biggest emergency of all. Emergencies. CD Lamb, could you be a defender for a minute? He could probably do it. Maybe not elite, but guess what? I betcha Brandon Iuk or Tyree Kill could defend the pass.

[Nathan King]

Well, you know why, Rich? Because they've all done it at one point in their life in that sport. There's no question that these guys are playing both sides of the ball at one point.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

They may not be elite on both sides like Travis Hunter, but I could promise you, you take, you know, T. Higgins or any, any elite wide receiver that we talk about, if push came to shove, they could play defensive back, they could play free safety, they could do any of these things. And any guy in the secondary, if he needed to, could catch passes from a quarterback.

[Nathan King]

But as we described, with baseball, such a skill sport, to be elite enough to be a dominant pitcher and a dominant hitter at a big league level like Shohei Ohtani is doing, takes much more skill, much more difficult in our opinion, than what Travis Hunter has to do. And that's not to take anything away from him because it's remarkable. It's just to combat the answer he gave to that question. If you guys agree or disagree, would love to hear from you. 87799 on Fox. But I think what Shohei Ohtani is doing is much more difficult, much more impressive.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

It's a difference between yo that's crazy, that's unbelievable, versus, like, yo one guy has done it since Babe Ruth, effectively.

[Nathan King]

Harder to play on both sides. Fox Sports Radio Nation. Is there any debate? Does Travis Hunter have any truth to what he said?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

All right, let me, let me throw a curveball at you. Ohtani style. Shohi Ohtani at points. I mean, this guy's been an MVP without even pitching. Throw in the fact that in any given season he's a Cy Young candidate. But that's what makes it insane. And not even a question for me, like to take what, you know, a screwball or a, you know, Verlander, a Scherzer in their prime or Paul Skeens is doing on the mound and imagine if that guy was also stealing 50 bases, hitting 50 home runs.

[Nathan King]

That's the thing.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Yeah.

[Nathan King]

It's like think of any slugger out there, Aaron Judge, he's not going to get on a mound and be as dominated as Johe has become on the mound. It's just not going to happen. Has he done it at one point in his career? You know, as a, as a hyperbole schooler and Little League? Yeah, of course. Everybody has. So I'm sure he has that experience. But to do it on that level, no way.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I think the best way.

[Nathan King]

When you see any position player take the man, they're always throwing junk pitches, knuckleballs, things like that. You sent me that random clip of Wade Boggs recently.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I had never seen that. Damn buyer. I know you've seen a lot of these clips. Did you ever see that Wade Boggs throwing knuckleballs from like back in the day? He retired the side.

[Mark Seal]

No, I didn't.

[Nathan King]

He was real pumped to make his debut. He was one of those guys known for always throwing a mean knuckleball, always wanting to get out there, and then finally got his chance with the Yankees.

[Mark Seal]

I've seen it.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I never said I'm going to fight that incentive. I'd never seen it myself. And it's during the Yankees Joe Tory days and the Yankees are down double, you know, 10 plus runs in the seventh or eighth inning. Out comes Wade Boggs and he's throwing knucklers and he actually strikes someone out, gets two guys to ground out. It was, it was phenomenal.

[Nathan King]

Right.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

The better question is not Travis Hunter versus Ohtani. You got to say, do you put what Ohtani is doing because pitching and hitting are so different, is that equal to what primetime did or Bo Jackson playing two different sports? Because pitching and hitting, it's almost like two different sports. That's the better question.

[Mel Reid]

It would almost be like being a Pro bowl kicker, kicking, you know, 60 yard field goals and then also being able to play, you know, skill pitchers.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

It would be like if Saquon Barkley could also kick like Justin Tucker.

[Mel Reid]

Yeah, exactly.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

It's. It's still two different Skills, like, I'll be honest, it sounds ridiculous, but I'll pat you on the back, Kavino, since I rarely do so. Being a sports talk show host is different than when Covino does like rock radio. Oh, yeah, those are two different skills. Like when. When you hear Covino on one of the rock stations on Sirius xm.

Oh, that was Metallica. And you know, he's shooting the crap about all his fun facts about rock music in between songs.

Yeah, it absolutely is. That's actually a good question. Is that a better debate? Like what Bo Jackson did, what Deion Sanders did. Is that a better debate? Travis Hunter, regardless, not trying to think anything away from him. It's unbelievable. It's amazing. You know, the fact that we're even debating what he's doing with Shohei is a testament to how great he is. But I do think that two sides of baseball is harder to play than, you know, both sides of football.

It's just more taxing, more tolling on your more exhausting football to do both sides.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I'm sure there's football gurus that want to strangle me when I say this, but from my perspective, being a defensive back and a wide receiver are probably two of the most similar positions where you're. You're just doing close to the same thing, just on two different sides of the ball.

[Nathan King]

I'm sure a professional would debate that.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Of course they would. But I'm saying, like, it would be like defending a point guard or being a point guard that's has the ball.

[Nathan King]

But you would imagine the same athleticism is required.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

It's a very similar skill set. Maybe I could be totally wrong, but that's.

Wide receivers tend to be. We were talking wide receiver versus defensive back, right?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Yeah, yeah.

Wide receivers usually are a little taller. I mean, if we're talking about physically physical differences and have better hands and.

Defensive backs a little quicker and they're receiving.

Their hands are better.

Now it became a debate. Travis Hunter, again, he was asked the question, what was harder to play on both sides? So we thought about it. We brought it to you. We'll take two quick phone calls and we'll get ready for some Shaq Diesel trivia.

How you doing? Real quick. Yeah, I don't want to take a lot of time, but Travis Hunter is on the same level as Charles Woodson, who played both ways. But look, I was like, I was telling your call screener, the most difficult sport in the world to play is baseball. You're hitting a round ball off of a round bat and then he throws 100 miles per hour. I mean, there's no argument. It's Ohtani. And trust me, I'm not a big Ohtani fan, but I have to admire and respect the talent that he, that he has. I mean, there's no debate.

[Nathan King]

You know, what's so funny is that's one of those, like, automatic responses that we all have. Round ball, round bat, hardest. Ever did those science nerds with the mustaches and berets ever put this to the test? Did John Brinkus ever really do a sports science on. On what really is the hardest? Because we just know, as sports fans, we all know that cricket's easier than.

[Danny G.]

Is that what you're saying?

[Nathan King]

I'm saying we just as sports fans have heard that. And that's our automatic response. Round ball, round bat, hardest thing to do.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I don't know if that's true. Am I dreaming?

It seems to be though, when you got such a short reaction time, I believe John Brinkus did put that to the test. Like how insane it is in sports science to. Well, you react, to react in that split second, that split second to make that decision on where the pitch is going to be.

[Mel Reid]

Because when we've all, we've all stood in a batting cage, the fastest one, and you know, before you could even think about getting the bat around the pitches past you. Whereas all of us have thrown a football, some of us can throw it better than others, but we can all spiral the ball. We've all caught a punt, you know. You know, so it seems at least easier. Even though the NFL is not easy, NBA is not easy.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

You don't have a defender in your face, but we've all made a three pointer. I think I may be dreaming this, but this has been discussed among athletes. And I feel like Mookie Betts, who's known as such a great athlete across the board, has discussed with fellow elite athletes, football, baseball, basketball, where he's like, yo, with all due respect, I know I wouldn't be great in the NBA, but I might score four points, chuck up a couple shots, get lucky, but there's no way. And he's talking like NBA players saying, yo, there's no way you're even touching the ball in 10 at bats in the big leagues. Like, you're not. You're not even making contact yet. In the NBA, I wouldn't be good. But I think a guy like Mookie Betts said, I'll get off a couple shots and maybe I'll get lucky. You're not getting lucky in the batter's box. Guys, back to is no emptier feeling when you're playing even rec sports if there's no run limit. Like I play in one league where there's, you know, there's five run limit per inning just to keep the game moving. When you were a little league kid and the pitcher couldn't find the strike.

If Devonte Adams wants to play in the west coast, if the Niners picked him up and got some type of deal. Is Devonte Adams and Debo Samuel a push to you or is Debo his youth give you a feel like Debo's.

Got more, you know, that's how I feel. You already said it. I feel like Debo is going to give you a little more because I think he has some gas left. And that's why the Commanders are excited about it again. It's. It's two sides to the story, right? Yesterday you heard here on Fox Sports Radio, Rich trying to justify that Debo's game. I feel like it's not giving you all the stats and his decline and how he's just not that good anymore. If you go and talk to any Commanders fan or you talk to Jaden Daniels or anybody who's rooting for the Commanders, they're like, yo, these are the moves that we need to make, man. This is it. And if you talk to Debo, he'll tell you how excited he is to join that team and how hungry they are. So, again, two sides to every story. That being said, I think Debo's got more juice.

Devonte Adams played for Danny G's Raiders just a year ago.

I think it's a push on attitude.

We know these friends and we've been in relationships with people where when things are good, they're happy. When things are bad, they get all sour. And I feel like in a good situation, if Devonte Adams was on the Niners and they were winning, don't you feel like Devonte Adams all of a sudden he's cheery and happy. Devonte Adams, Yeah.

Yeah. So, I mean, why. Why would you. The no leaf clover is the opposite of good luck. You're right. So having bad luck. And you heard Dan Beyer. You heard the story today. You saw the highlight last night. Kyrie tore his acls. Painful. It was sad, but it was inspiring. It was all moving. Fans were up on their feet. But ever since AD Got traded, it's been downhill. I mean, since Luca got traded, mass fans have been going through it. In 2025, people are chanting, you know, thank you, Nico. At Lakers games. It's so embarrassing.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Haven't the Mavericks even pivoted in another weird way where they raised ticket prices? And it's like. And you're raising ticket prices.

[Nathan King]

But it actually started. If you. If you go through the timeline. On January 14th, Derek Lively suffered an ankle fracture. Right. Then February 1st, the Mavericks trade Luca, and you're like, what? Everybody freaked out about that. Mavericks fans devastated. And I think we're seeing, like, the impact was greater than anyone would have thought. The fans are really upset by this whole thing. Protesting a lot of pressure on AD a lot of pressure on Nico Harrison.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I mean, it felt big. We were in Vegas when it happened, and you heard the murmurs through the whole casino.

[Nathan King]

Like, Luke whispers, I think. So again, that was February 1st. The Mavs trade Luca for AD on the 8th. February 8th, AD strains his abductor in the Mavericks debut. What? Second quarter.

[Mel Reid]

He started the third quarter, started a.

[Nathan King]

Third quarter, but two and a half.

[Kyra K. Dixon]

Yeah.

[Nathan King]

The first two are really like, whoa, man. Automatic gelling like Magellan chemistry's there.

[Mel Reid]

He and Kyrie looked really great together. One of the reasons why is because AD doesn't need the ball in his hands as much. And so Kyrie was obviously handling the ball a ton because no more Luca on the team.

[Nathan King]

Yeah. And you're going to see great defense. It was great chemistry. They always wanted a ball together. And again, Strange is abductor. He's out. On the 10th, Daniel Gafford sprains his MCL. And then yesterday, the third Kyrie tears the ACL. And you probably get no ad return as a result. So everything has been downhill. It's like Nico Harrison's no good. Terrible, horrible, very bad year. Every move he made was bad. And the team has been crumbling since. So they went from contenders to like, yeah, I don't even think we're gonna play anymore. So just some bad luck all around, Rich. It makes you think, have you been through a streak that bad? Have you seen a streak that bad?

[Kyra K. Dixon]

I think, personally, I think in relationships and life and work, we've all been through our hot and cold streaks. But I remember dating a woman once where everyone in her life, things started happening to. Oh, yeah, and I left because I was like, I'm not next. Like, every. Everyone she knew was like, oh, they got a fender bender. Oh, her dad got sick. Her brother got arrested for weed.

Her dog died.
