I'm not even certain it's a fact if you probably got it on TikTok or something.

Well, is it about you on Broadway again?

[Rich Davis]

No, no, not my days on Broadway. Danny G. A term was developed today in 1877 and I know you love these stupid ass fun facts from back in the day. It was the Cincinnati Inquirer who termed this phrase that we still use today in the world of baseball. Slightly different though. They refer to this area where the late fans would gather and they would, they would push them all together like cattle. What do you think the area is?

[Steve Cavino]

The bullpen.

[Rich Davis]

The bullpen. And then they later use that term to, you know, signify where the relief pitchers would warm up. But the bullpen originally was where all the late comers to the game would, would hang out down the line by the outfield.

[Steve Cavino]

I heard your doctor when you were born came up with the term little nubber. Is that true?

[Rich Davis]

Stop it.

[Steve Cavino]

They're like, it's a boy. They're like, how do you know? Look at little number, little nubber. And then that's how that came to be. A lot of people don't know that. So that's Rich Davis. I'm Steve Cavino. Thanks for the fun fact. I do often wonder though, Rich, where those sayings came from or how they started. Right.

[Rich Davis]

Well, I mentioned it yesterday, not to overdo it, but that documentary about Spalding and Rawlings and Wilson on the History Channel.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah.

[Rich Davis]

Does make you realize that these sports are not that old. Like we've, we've talked about how nacho chips and pizza and all these things were developed in our parents lifetime.

[Steve Cavino]

So these things, pizza is the biggest mind blaster. I thought our parents didn't grow up ordering pizza.

[Rich Davis]

That's really what. Well know what I thought? Super Bowls are numbered. Correct. You're, you're going to be if you knock on one, live a nice long life, you could make it to like.

[Steve Cavino]

Super Bowl 100, you know, in the future and you know Kids are going to say you believe torpedo bats were invented when our parents were old.

[Rich Davis]

That's a phrase that went away already. Who cares about torpedo bets?

[Steve Cavino]

I don't know the little leaguers of the future.

Let me start by asking a rando question based on your New York Yankees. And then we're going to get it to NBA. Listen, last night just proved that. Is it a bunch of road dogs in the NBA? Road teams winning? All four road teams won for the first time ever.

[Steve Cavino]

And that's the beauty of sports. There's always something you've never seen before. Like last night's Yankees game. Speaking of the Yankees, Aaron Judge hit a bomb. Aaron Judge is the bomb. Nita's high net is far. Nit is gone. All rise. The Judge hit a bomb. Or as Michael K. Would say, see ya. And this kid made a really great catch in the outfield. And as I explained to Rich and everybody else who's willing to listen, if you're catching an Aaron Judge home run in today's game, that's the equivalent of catching a home run from Babe Ruth. That's, that's the equivalent of catching a home run from a Shohei Otani. A modern day baby. There's no one bigger or better. And as the saying goes nowadays, Aaron Judge might be probably as the greatest right handed hitter these eyes have ever seen. So when you catch a home run, line drive, home run, opposite field from Aaron Judge, that's a big moment.

[Rich Davis]

I mean that ball only goes out of Yankee Stadium. By the way, just for the record, that's a, that's a. Some fly ball to right field.

[Steve Cavino]

Frozen rope. I wonder where that came from.

[Rich Davis]

That's right. A nine in the scoreboard. Any other stadium.

[Steve Cavino]

Rich, the frozen rope. So that was a rocket out of Yankee Stadium. Some kid catches it, him and his buddies go ballistic. Has everybody seen this clip or no Danny G. You see this one? Sam, you see this one? Iowa. Sam's on the ones and twos. Danny G. Super producing here.

Can you imagine the feeling of a line drive home run coming your way? You're one of 55,000 people. Ah, you brought your mitt like a 12 year old. Ah, catch it. Line drive. You feel like the chosen one. You snag this home run, you and.

[Rich Davis]

Your friends go, yeah.

[Steve Cavino]

While they're celebrating this moment, Michael K is like. And a nice catch from the fan. But what you don't see is that when they're Jumping around like a bunch of idiots, which I totally understand because I would do the same thing. The ball squibbles out of the guy's glove and it rolls on the fence. It, like, bounces on the fence, dude. This guy, a guy right next to him picks it up and, like, puts it in his pocket. Like, what? Didn't see anything.

[Danny G]

I'm looking at it right now, dude.

[Steve Cavino]

It was the most heartbreaking clip because I was like, you gotta. You gotta give the guy the ball back. And the kids were after their celebration, they look in their glove and they're like, what happened to the ball? What happened to.

[Rich Davis]

You've always been the type of guy that says, finders keepers, losers weepers.

[Steve Cavino]

And I've always said that if I caught a home run or even a foul ball, I'm not giving it to the kid next to me. You know why? Because I've waited my whole life for that moment. So I'm going to keep it, give it to my own kid. Even if my kid's not with me, I'm going to give it to somebody, my nephew, or keep it, depending on what it is.

[Rich Davis]

What do you want to baseball for? If it's an Ohtani or Judge home run, that's one thing.

[Steve Cavino]

Judge home run, right? And he's having a magical season. MVP already putting up crazy numbers. He's batting.400, hitting bombs. And as a guy that says, you know, I would keep it and not give it to a kid, I'm not saying I would take it from a kid. I would have to say in this moment, if someone dropped this ball that they caught, you would have to automatically give it back to them. Now, this guy played it off like, yeah, I don't know what you're talking about. And it happened all so quickly, but John Boy broke it down. It went viral on social media. Everybody was talking about does pose the question of what would you do? And I will tell you that the guy that ended up retrieving the ball, the guy right next to the kids, he gave it back as of today. But I really do believe he did it because of social media pressure. Everybody zoomed in on it and saw that the guy caught it because MLB even acknowledged it and they wrote finders keepers.

[Rich Davis]

I do wonder your thoughts on the whole finders keepers, losers weepers, was that.

[Steve Cavino]

Your Yankees thought or question?

[Rich Davis]

It was actually, you know, our dumb brains are the same page.

[Steve Cavino]

Nice. Well, that was one of the bigger stories last night, but I think when.

[Rich Davis]

You think about that phrase, finders keepers, losers weepers, it brings up another story that I saw in the news and it does go back to, well, if you find it, is it yours? In fact, there's two other stories. Did you see that Brinks truck in Chicago? They forgot the latch. The back of it, $300,000 was just blowing around the neighborhood.

[Steve Cavino]

That's crazy.

[Rich Davis]

If you pick up a stack. Danny G. Are you giving it back?

[Danny G]

It's like those dumb machines radio stations used to have at remotes. Yeah. Where they let contestants go in and try to grab as much cash blowing around as they could.

[Rich Davis]

Because there's a few stories that has to do with finders keepers, losers weepers. One, the Aaron Judge home run ball. Famit snags it. Just dribbles out of his glove and the guy next to him sneaks sneakily gets it. Second story. If a bank truck doesn't latch the door and hundreds of thousands of dollars are just out there, are you giving it back?

[Steve Cavino]

I would try to keep that unless it was traceable. Because I'm like, whoa.

[Danny G]

Yeah, they can trace the serial numbers.

[Steve Cavino]

Well then in that case, you're doing the right thing by giving it back.

[Sam]

That's, oh, if they can find out it's me, then I got to do the right thing.

[Steve Cavino]

I don't know. I mean, Sam, it feels like.

[Rich Davis]

Or you buy a really nice purchase with cash real quick. Like, let me buy a car, cash. Here you go. Bye.

[Steve Cavino]

But they could trace it back. Like, who's the jabroni that you know, paid with this money? I don't know. I would feel too risky to keep that when I would want to keep it. And then there's another story. It was like a local story. Some old guy, some old guy who needed money. He was broke already looked like a broke Santa Claus. Some older dude goes to a thrift store, a thrift shop, like a Goodwill, and he buys a couch. Like an old couch you see in your grandparents basement.

[Rich Davis]

It was orangey and brown.

[Steve Cavino]

You know that orangey brown couch that everybody had in the 80s with the wagon wheels on it and flowers and it's orange and brown. This guy bought a couch and he's sitting on it and he's like, it's kind of uncomfortable. And he opens the cushion on the ottoman and inside the cushion was $43,000. And he couldn't believe it. One would think that, oh my God, good karma's finally coming back to me. The gods have spoken. Today's my lucky day. But this guy felt an immense level of guilt or something because he then reached back to goodwill to see, well, who donated this couch and returned every penny? He returned every penny. That just happened.

[Danny G]

They better have given him a big reward.

[Steve Cavino]

Dude, I said give him 20%, give him 8,000. And the guy even said he needed it, but he felt better returning it to its rightful owner. Apparently, like the person's grandfather stuffed that couch at $43,000, and nobody knew about it, so he had no legal obligation to return that money. But that's another current story that just went viral this week. So what would you do? And do you believe in finders keepers?

[Rich Davis]

I think Danny g's wife Brenda would divorce him if he gave the money back.

[Steve Cavino]

I'll tell you what. In that case, I'm keeping that money.

[Sam]

Absolutely.

[Steve Cavino]

I think I'm keeping that money. You buy a couch, you feel like, whoa, why is that not your destiny, man? I guess that's. Whoa.

[Sam]

Grandpappy probably put the money in there. He had, you know, dementia, forgot about it. It's your money at that point. It's been so long, the serial numbers are no longer traceable. That's your cash.

[Steve Cavino]

And by the way, that's different. The grandkids or whoever ended up getting that money back, the kids of the guy, they had no idea that this money ever existed. They didn't know where it came from. But this guy who bought that couch from the thrift shop said he felt like it was the right thing to do. And I guess, you know, from a moral standpoint, maybe it is.

[Rich Davis]

I will give.

[Steve Cavino]

From a moral standpoint, each case is different.

[Rich Davis]

Let me ask you from a moral standpoint. You see, this happens every year. There's at least one of these stories. Someone's at an estate sale or yard sale, and they find a painting, and they're like, yeah, 10 bucks. And they don't realize it's like a million dollar painting or.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah, to me, it's very similar.

[Rich Davis]

That's an old box of 1950s baseball cards. Yeah, dude, 20 bucks.

[Steve Cavino]

That happens on pawn stars. Every once in a while, Rick acts like he's some righteous dude where some guy wants like, yeah, I'll take 50 bucks for it. But Rick knows it's worth, you know, a few thousand. And because he's on tv, he's like, I'll tell you what, man, it's worth a little more than that. I'll have my guy come in and appraise it. And because he doesn't want to rip him off on tv, that's really what it comes down to. But it's sort of that same thing. What would you do in these situations? 8 7, 7, 99 on Fox. The baseball dude. I would have gave it back. I'm happy to hear today that he did. I do feel that he felt the social pressure to do so, though, because it looked like on TV that he had no intention of giving that ball back. He was trying to play it off. Too many people saw it. The couch money. If I bought furniture or bought anything from a garage sale, like you said, rich and ended up being valuable to me, that's just. Man, that's just luck on your side for once, Danny G, Your prayers were answered. You could pay off your debt. You know what I mean? Whatever. The case is like, oh, my God, that's my kid's college money. To me, that. That's when you keep it.

[Danny G]

What if something was accidentally stored inside your purchase like last year?

[Steve Cavino]

Oh, no.

[Danny G]

This lady who flipped home, she bought a dresser, and it was taped up from moving. And the person she bought it from, they didn't. They didn't remember that they had packed the family's china inside the dresser and then taped the dresser up. So she gets this dresser home that she bought online from the person, opens it up, and there's this expensive china, all these dishes in China inside the dresser, and she got a hold of the person she bought it from, and she returned the family place.

[Steve Cavino]

Remember, I said case by case? China to me means diddly squat. That's our parents.

[Danny G]

But, you know, she could have sold it. That's worth a lot of money.

[Steve Cavino]

I get all that. But that to me, seems like a family heirloom of sorts that I wouldn't give a deadly squat about.

[Danny G]

Kind of like people's family pictures almost.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah. Like, you know what? This is probably meant for you guys, and it was probably passed down the cash money that's universally good for everybody.

[Sam]

Well, how much was is a random home run ball worth? It's probably not worth really anything, so he should give it back. It's a memento.

[Steve Cavino]

And he did as of today. But, man, what a funny clip. Guys, you got to see, if you haven't seen it, the quickness of the guy next to him, because, again, it squibbled. Would squibble be the word? Yeah, squibbled along the top of the wall and some other guy snagged it. Kind of wild to see. What would you do?

[Sam]

You say? Yoink.

[Steve Cavino]

He yanked it. He yoinked it. I don't know.

[Rich Davis]

When I bought my house, the same family had lived there forever, like, since it was built. So when we Were going through the attic with our contractor. I did find stuff that I put aside. I'm like, let me call the OG owner if I can and be like, hey, do you want like your kids high school yearbooks from the 70s and 80s? I thought I was doing a good deed and like, nah, you throw it out. So sometimes people just don't want that crap when you think they might trash.

[Steve Cavino]

And treasure all that stuff. But yeah, money, man, $43,000 is a lot to give up. If you found it, give me the.

[Rich Davis]

Ruling on not 43 grand in a couch or in a vase or something. I feel like it's also the plotline of like a comedy where you take the cash, you think it's yours, and then you get a knock on the door. It's like the mob. Like, it's like some, some mobsters. Like, yeah, you got our money. You bought that couch. You were not supposed to buy that. And you already spent the money.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah.

[Sam]

Have you guys ever seen the movie A Simple Plan with Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton?

[Steve Cavino]

First of all, Rich loves the band.

[Sam]

A Simple Plan is an excellent movie. It's about these two friends who find this plane crash in the woods and like, Maine, they find like $200,000 in cash in a bag. And it's not the people coming after him, it's what happens between the two friends and how they try to divvy up the money and all kinds of chaos ensues. It's a fantastic movie.

[Steve Cavino]

But Sam, if you found money, wouldn't that be like a modern day version of like, you found the treasure, you found the hidden treasure. That's your treasure. One Eyed Willy's treasure. You found this is my wish. This is my treasure. I think that's way different than the ball, Way different than anything else. That's my money. I try to be a good person. I want to do the right thing, as Spike Lee said, but in this case, I'm keeping that treasure. I found it.

[Danny G]

If you felt guilty, couldn't you just replace the money with a whole bunch of IOUs?

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah, it's just as good as money.

[Rich Davis]

Dumber stuff. Yeah, just as good. All right, so I break it down this way. You're walking down the street, you see a $20 bill on the floor. Do you immediately pick it up quickly and put in your pocket? Or do you look around like, hey, do you look in the vicinity like maybe that lady dropped it? Like, how quick are you to just.

[Steve Cavino]

Put in your own pocket, pick it up and you do the, you know, over Each shoulder sort of thing.

[Danny G]

First you make sure it's not on a string so you don't get punked.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah, yeah. There. Or something. Right now you gotta look over each shoulder.

[Rich Davis]

I. I do wonder to what extent would you say finders keepers, losers weepers, when it comes to. I mean, anything for that matter, are you. If you're in a hotel room and the previous person left something there, you're not taking it yet? People do. Because the reality is people take things all the time. We're giving ourselves a lot of credit and we shouldn't. We're just being reasonably good people. How many times have you left something in a hotel room, called back 10 minutes later and like, yep, can't find.

[Steve Cavino]

It all the time. Something stupid like a charger.

[Rich Davis]

I left my laptop charger.

[Steve Cavino]

Yep. Really?

[Rich Davis]

Because I left an hour ago. Someone took it. Hey, you know, I left. I left a leather jacket in the closet.

[Steve Cavino]

That's my point. That's karma working to your advantage. So how many times that happened to you in your life? Right? And you're like, man, I just can never do nothing. Now you walk in and you have this prize there. Why are you gonna give it back? This is. This is how life makes things even for you. Man, that's my money.

[Rich Davis]

My mom. My mom recently found a gift card laying in a parking lot, and just for the heck of it, she picked it up and went into that store, and it had like 80 bucks on it.

[Steve Cavino]

Oh.

[Rich Davis]

And I was like. I was like, I don't think that's a. I think that's a finders keepers, cuz. What do you do? You. Hey, did anyone drop a gift card?

[Steve Cavino]

Is that why your mom's wearing work boots from work Boot Warehouse?

[Rich Davis]

I didn't tell you where the gift card was from. All right, so your thoughts at 87799 on Fox. Really funny story out of Yankee Stadium last night. Yankee fan, you got to see the video. He catches the home run. In fact, we'll put it on our Instagram story at Kobe, nonrich guy catches the ball in celebration, squibbles out of his glove, the guy next to him in the slickest way possible. I was saying, if you see how slow grabs it, puts in his pocket and starts tapping again.

[Steve Cavino]

Hold on. You don't see it in real time. That's the thing. Cause I saw this in real time and didn't notice. I thought, man, what a great catch. You didn't see it until they slowed it down. An instant replay.

[Rich Davis]

It's a tough one because I think it's so finders keepers, losers weepers is a great phrase from our childhood, but.

I got one for you. I got a scenario. When I was a kid, we all experienced. I think this is a relatable one. I think we've all experienced this. We got into baseball cards. For me, it was around 86, right? And I got way into it.

[Rich Davis]

Oh, I was.

[Steve Cavino]

A year later, I was neck deep into those wooden.

[Rich Davis]

I was going to say I was an 87 kid.

[Steve Cavino]

My wooden border.

[Rich Davis]

My basement paneling matched the baseball cards.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah, those 87 tops with the wood border. So I got way into it. Any adult that would listen to me, I would tell them about my baseball cards. And I found out through a family member that Uncle Victor and Uncle angel used to collect cards all the time. I'm like, they did? Yeah. They're probably in the basement in an old house that my grandma still owned, but she rented out. They're probably in there somewhere. Dude, 30, 40 years must have gone by. 50 years must have gone by since anyone ever cared. So I was a little kid that took it upon myself to go rummaging to try to find them. Even though my Uncle Victor and Angel had their own kids. And maybe they rightfully belonged to them, not they didn't care about it. And I'm the one going into another town in the basement of another home to try to find these in old cigar boxes in old storage boxes and bins. They're not finders keepers. Mine now.

[Rich Davis]

Cause I'm the only kid that cared. Is that the same day you found One Eyed Willie's map?

[Steve Cavino]

It's the same day I found the treasure. But, dude, I can't tell you how many. 63 mantles. I'm trying to think. 64 Maris mantles, Clementes that I got because I was the only kid willing to look for him.

[Rich Davis]

I mean, you can't tell.

[Steve Cavino]

I was supposed to find him and give them back to my uncle.

[Rich Davis]

You didn't care about him. Didn't tell anyone, though, did you?

[Steve Cavino]

Hell, yeah.

[Rich Davis]

You told your cousins, though.

[Steve Cavino]

They were too little to care. I was the only one. I only when I wanted them. I hope they're not listening now because they're gonna try to cash in on it.

[Rich Davis]

They come knocking 40 years later, but.

[Steve Cavino]

That'S not finders keepers. I think finders keepers, losers weepers is a case by case thing. You know, you do have a moral obligation sometimes. If you have a conscience, that also applies. But sometimes I think karma works to your advantage, and you gotta, like, live and relish in those moments.

[Rich Davis]

I think it's also. You could say it shouldn't matter, but I think it matters who the OG owner is. Like, Danny, the one where it's. The guy found 40 something grand in a couch cushion. If you found out who the OG owner of that couch was, and it was like, the Buxtons who live in Calabasas, I'm keeping the money.

[Steve Cavino]

Or someone from the Gambino crime family.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, you might be like, oh, but if you find out it was like, yeah, single. Single mom just donated that couch because she needed the cat. Like, I think it really depends.

[Danny G]

I think it's not supposed to, but.

You know what happens too, though, sometimes? And, Rich, I know you alluded to this before, but I gotta mention it again. You think you're doing the right thing. And then that person's like, yeah, whatever. You hear that story that Tom Segura tells? Comedian Tom Segura talks about that he was in a cab or something and he found someone's license.

[Danny G]

That's right.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah, you heard that one? And he's like, you know, I felt this moral obligation to maybe keep it, and I had this kid's license forever. He goes, I s you not like years later he's being waited on. He goes, hey, you're Justin. And the guy's like, yeah, so what? He's like, I got your license. The guy's like, can you mail it? You got it with you? Can you mail it to me? Like, he's like, do you realize the. The coincidence here? Dude, I got your license. You're waiting on me. How are you not thankful in this, Mom? Sometimes you think you're doing the right thing, and you think you're gonna get all this praise or the gods are gonna smile on you and you're granted great, you know, karma for the rest of your life. They don't care. I've done nice things before. And they're like, yeah, thanks, Steve.

[Sam]

You said that he. You said he had a moral obligation to keep it or send it back.

[Steve Cavino]

Tom Sigurd kept it because he was like, you know, I guess I'll throw it in the mail one day or whatever. The kid ended up waiting him. Waiting on him at a table.

Did he actually send it Back to the guy.

[Rich Davis]

It's a comedy bit, Staz.

That's the thing is, like, if he kept it, then he's not doing him any favors.

If you keep it, what's the point.

Of keeping someone else's license?

But the point is, he's like, you don't find it crazy that I remember your face and I have your license and now you're waiting on me? And the kid was, like, not thankful and didn't care at all?

And was it a trifold wallet or.

It's almost that same feeling. We're at a counter and you don't have to tip. You put a five in the tip jar and. And they don't even acknowledge it. They don't even look.

I cover my hand there and take it back. I'm like, yeah, you want to take it back?

Almost. At least nod your head and say thanks.

When you do the right thing. You do want to and you shouldn't. I know that's not the reason to do it, but you do want to at least get. Get a little satisfaction.

[Rich Davis]

It's not satisfaction. What you want is like the story.

Well, you want acknowledgement that you did the right thing. Like if you let someone cut in front of you in traffic. All I want is a little wave. When I don't get the wave, I'm like, when I don't get the wave, I'm like, you son of a. I cut them.

Yeah, Spot's very spiteful. I will say this. I have two stories. We'll wrap it with this. But Kavino's right. I have two particular stories that. Mine's not a comedy bit, though. Like Tom Segura. But it was funny.

It's not a comedy bit. It's a real story. But finders keepers is the question again. Some kid ended up snagging someone else's home run ball from Aaron Judge last night. Another guy found $43,000 in a couch this week, and he gave it back. There's all sorts of stories.

I have two quickies. One, I was at jfk. I was at the airport. And when I tell you I'm getting in. I'm getting in a car service. I see some guy get out of the car I'm getting into. He left his laptop bag in the back of the car. I actually. There's a car in front of me about to pull away. I go to the driver, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait up, wait up.

Wait. Didn't this happen with Lloyd Christmas and Mary Swanson? Are you just repeating Dumb and Dumber? This guy's just stealing movie plots every day.

I found someone's cell phone at a restaurant. No one claimed it. This restaurant was closing. I took it. I called the person. I felt. I went through their phone, and I called a friend of theirs. I answered like, hey, I found this person's phone. I'd like them to get it back. You know, I know what it's like if you lose a phone. Do you know the response they gave me was like, where are you? Can you bring it to me?

What do you do? Finders keepers, losers weepers, it is case by case. That's what we're getting at. And don't expect, you know, you're doing it for the wrong reasons. If you expect some sort of applause and adulation, you know, sometimes you're just not going to get that. But I guess the world, the universe knows you did the right thing, and there's some peace in that. And major props to the guy that gave back the $43,000. That's a bigger guy than me. I'm not sure I would have done that.

Guys, we had a trade in the NFL today as the Dallas Cowboys acquired wide receiver George Pickens in a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are getting a third round pick in 2026 and a fifth runner in 2027. By sending Pickens to Dallas Cowboys will also get a sixth rounder in 2027.

[Steve Cavino]

What does that mean for Rogers?

[Dan Byer]

I don't think it means anything.

Nothing at all for Rogers.

I think that it's Pittsburgh acquiring DK Metcalf and them focusing on him being their number one wide receiver and getting a third round pick. It may be a longer.

I'll say this in connection to it because this was a deal that was done after the draft. They're not going to get the pick until next year. They obviously have their eyes more on the future. So if Rogers is only there for this year, this deal does not help them in 2025. Makes sense, but more of a long term sort of play. But Pickens is only a couple years in the league, so he's got a lot of football ahead of him.

He's good for a like thousand type of yard season. I think he's got extreme talent.

I think every parent could relate to seeing a kid run down to first base.

I actually texted Shador because I know him very well, and I said, dude, like, whatever happens, wherever you go, that's your first day. Day two matters more than the draft. I was 199.

So who could speak on it better than me? Like, what that really means. Use it as motivation. You're going to get your chances. Go take advantage of it. You get passed up for something. Motivators. Early on in my radio career, Danny G. Spot Covino. We all have been there, right?

When I was in Syracuse, that was one of my nicknames. How embarrassing.

Think these are great, great motivators. I don't care what it is. I know that feels like negative energy, but if you could use that as motivation, I think that's great motivation. I've used that with ex girlfriends, ex wives, ex jobs, people that told me to kick rocks. I use that every day as. As fuel to my fire all the time. You don't think Shador is. I say, absolutely. And dude, if that's how Tom Brady became Tom Brady, that's great. Words of wisdom.

And there's nothing wrong with that. So the way Tom Brady always seems to play, you know, played with a chip on his shoulder, I think it's good. Shador could come out and be like, yo, you think I'm a fifth rounder? I'll show you what a fifth rounder looks like. That's great. In fact, sometimes I rather that than be the. You're the first pick. You could only let people down. Use it as motivation. I sort of like where the Shador Sanders story is going to go because I think it'll be fun to watch him now compete.

Tom Brady said, look, he'll have his chance. He'll definitely have his chance. And that day one chance is way more important than where he ended up in the draft.

Oh, for me, yesterday was dan Byers anniversary, 8th anniversary respectively. So I hope he had a great night. Today is one of your favorite anniversaries.

Yeah. No, this has nothing to do my wife or me or a birthday or work. This is the anniversary of the greatest home run in the 21st century in major League baseball.

No, caught up because Bartolo, Bartolo Colon has said that his productive years, you know, he always thinks of himself as a Cleveland Indian. He thinks of himself on many teams. But he said the New York fan base, for some reason, yeah, they embraced the Mets, embraced him as almost like a mascot in a way more than the Yankees.

Remember, he did play with the Yankees.

But there was something very mascot ish about Bartolo because he was a bigger dude, but yet so good.

Rubbery arm. He still had it. He still had some junk.

[Rich Davis]

And he was at the. He was at the later part of his career where he was almost in on the joke. Like, yeah, I'm a big guy, but I'm good. So when he hit that solo home run, I think every methane felt like Gary Cohen on that call. And that was nine years ago today. And I only bring that up. The impossible happened. So happy anniversary. To one of the greats.

Well, I have a question.

One of the great personalities in baseball.

You know, that's how I look back, too. I remember a young, slender, more slender in shape, Manny Ramirez as an Indian and Bartolo Colon. But by the time he hit the home run, he'd been around a long time.

Who are some of the greatest old guys to ever do it? Because there's another story about an old guy, and that old guy is Justin Verlander.

[Rich Davis]

I don't hate this story, even though.

And I say old on the. When I say old. Yeah, you mean on the field. Young man in life. He's 42 years old. But that's pretty. That's way up there in today's game for a pitcher.

[Rich Davis]

Yes. I mean, he's no Negro or Nolan Ryan or anything, but.

No. Charlie huff, who was 85 years old when he was playing with the Rangers.

[Rich Davis]

Or don't they talk about, like, Satchel Page? Wasn't he like. Like, he was like old timer age when he was playing still in the bigs. But I think when you look at what Verlander is doing, I don't even get mad. Cavino, you would think as a Mets fan, I would. I would not like it because the Mets paid him all that money and nothing really happens. I always root for the old guy. And if the old guy in sports, I know, 42, such an old guy. I think it's a great story. And in Verland, there's the eras and the twos, and he found his last four starts.

Last four starts, 2.7270 ERA.

[Rich Davis]

So props to Justin Verland.

Props to him because there's a part of you that has to root for the older guy, even if they're not on your team or not necessarily your guy. Like, there's a part of you, it's like, oh, yeah. Makes you feel like you could still do it. So props to him. And of course, Bartolo Colon, who did that in his older age. And if there's any other older guys, the greatest ever do it. Older guys that come to mind, aside from the classic George Foreman moments.

I mean, I know he's a call. I know he's 51 now, but as of a couple years ago, Bartolo was still pitching, I believe in, like, Dominican leagues for fun once in a while. And he was still, like, I bet in his late 40s he was still throwing strikes.

[Steve Cavino]

He's just one of those guys. Yeah.

[Rich Davis]

But not only the star power. When Danny talks about how we take for granted, we're going to look back one day and be mad at ourselves for not giving LeBron James enough credit. I get it. There's people that are going to hate on him regardless. But everyone loves to glorify Michael Jordan, rightfully so. You know, the goat, Michael Jordan, six NBA titles. You know, sneakers, Air Jordan, everything. Right? Space Jam. The world loved Michael Jordan. Be like Mike Gatorade. But by the time he played for the Wizards, that was like LeBron, like, five years ago. We make it seem like Michael Jordan came out of retirement when he was, like, 50. Michael Jordan played for the Wizards in his 30s.

[Danny G]

Yeah. And there were no expectations for Michael Jordan to win.

[Steve Cavino]

But again, it's also a different time. At the end of his career, conditioning wasn't what it is.

[Rich Davis]

But we can't hold. We can't hold LeBron James to an absurd standard for what he's doing at 40, when Michael Jordan looked like ass in his 30s.

So new footage has emerged in the incident of the Pittsburgh Pirate fan falling onto the field during last week's game at PNC Park. There's actually an angle from behind that shows Kevin Markwood is his name jumping up in excitement just like you thought. And the momentum curling him overwards. He lands on his belly like his midsection lands on the railing and then he continues to tumble, fumble over. So the 20 year old former college athlete suffered a broken neck, broken clavicle and broken back from the 21 foot fall. He since commented on the incident saying he's got a long road to recovery. Has thanked everyone for the support over the last week. They raised about $50,000 I think on the gofundme. Also took his first steps on Monday since the incident. So yeah, a little update midweek or major.

[Rich Davis]

I'm going to go major because this guy could have very well died. And this has happened at ballparks before. There's tragedies that have happened in NHL arenas, baseball stadiums. You know, a puck hits someone, someone falls out of the stands. Yo, he landed on his neck, broke his neck. And you know, it could have been tragic. The fact that he took his first steps, it could have been tragic. It was not.

[Steve Cavino]

He turning into Trump or what? What's going on?

[Rich Davis]

I did. That was a Trump impression.

Did I say because he kicks into it. That's not true.

Because all he did, when you see it, it answered the question of did he try to jump? Did he fall over? Was he that drunk? What happened? When you see this clip and I totally implore you to check out the clip because it's not a gruesome clip. If you see this still image, it looks like he's trying to climb the fence. It does, but what he does is he holds on to the bar, the railing, and he, like, leaps with his.

Yeah. Like a leapfrog. He leapfrogs in enjoyment and jubilee. And as a result, because he's so drunk, he falls over. They can't allow that sort of thing to happen ever again. I'm happy to hear he's all right. I don't know if he's gonna make a full recovery. A broken neck. I don't know how some.

I mean, it's. Yeah, it's just going to take time. There's no. I believe there's no paralysis, but I'm.

But I don't think they're going to change anything in ballparks, because the reality is, Kavino, not many people jump, as you said in Jubilee, like that. Like, you jump and cheer. They're not going to put big barricades of walls up because going for foul.

Balls, though, the people fall from the rafters at ballparks, like, multiple times per year.

[Steve Cavino]

It feels like both legs and both. Both knees were, like, up in the air. He jumped in in such a way where he had no balance and moved forward.

I feel like I have a mild fear of heights, but anytime I'm in the upper deck, like, or in the upper tier nosebleeds of any sort of stadium or arena, I always, like, have that nervous sinking feeling in my stomach, like butterflies in my stomach anytime I get close to the edge. Because I feel like you could be.

All right, well, we mentioned Tom Brady on Impulsive podcast earlier. Another thing he mentioned continues to express regret over his Netflix roast. I know it's. It's been about a year. It actually happened last May. And appearing on Logan Paul's Impulsive podcast, he said that his kids were very upset over some of the jabs made at his expense, which ruined his overall experience on the roast. He said immediately following the roast, he was, like, on cloud nine. Really enjoyed it. But the things flipped the next day when he talked to his kids. His kids basically said, like, why would you Go on stage and let people do that. Like, what was the point of that? So that really soured the moment for it. He really. He's mentioned this in the past, but even a year later, still regrets it. So midweek or major?

I think it's mid. I'll tell you why that's okay.

We've seen roast before. What did he think was gonna happen? I mean, he said one rule. Don't talk about Robert Kraft's, you know, massage stuff. Right. That was the one rule. Besides that, did you think people weren't gonna talk about your ex wife and the jiu jitsu guy and Bill Belichick, and you got what you thought you were gonna get, and again, he loved it. Until you realize sometimes as a parent, you may not care, but your kids care. And that's. That's where it hurt him. Right? I mean, like. Like, Kavina, how many times have you thought, like, who cares? Then you're like, mom, my daughter does.

[Steve Cavino]

Right. That's why I think it's major. As a parent, I can relate. It was all fun and games until they didn't get it. So I don't think Tommy. Tommy did anything wrong at all. Maybe should have discussed with his kids ahead of time, but they grew up in a culture where maybe they don't get it, where bullying's mean and they don't understand the purpose of a roast, and they don't see the fun in it when it's at their dad. Dad's expense. So I just think it's a generational disconnect. And for that reason, I do feel.

Bad about it, like, almost. Dad, why would you stay up there and get bullied? Not realizing, well, that's what people do.

[Steve Cavino]

We've been doing it for years, and they're like, we don't get it.

[Rich Davis]

It's a sign of love. All at the same time, busting chops like, yeah, kid just may not understand.

All right. In the ongoing Bill Belichick, Jordan Hudson saga, Hudson subtly firing back at haters who are saying she's a distraction to the legendary NFL coach. So after that awkward interview, which is just lingering in our minds, Hudson, this is the way she's doing it. And in 2025, this means something. She's been reposting or liking a bunch of comments that support her and Bill, mostly directed against Barstool's Dave Portnoy, who leaned into the clip saying that the interview and moment was very awkward for the coach. She also reposted a clip of RG3, calling her a distraction. Kind of her way of doing. Just acknowledging that, like, she's not a distraction. So may not be making outright comments, but this is the way she's speaking back.

[Rich Davis]

Midweek or major sort of over the story. I'm gonna say mid because I'm not saying it's the story you shouldn't have brought up. I just think I'm so over it at this point. I have a better question for everyone in the room now. You know, if you don't want to answer, you don't have to. But what if you found out there was a like a leaked. Only fans of her and Bill. He didn't say anything bad. He just said that. But that moment was, how could you not?

Well, one fan didn't take it too well and identified Georgia man is suing the NFL for $100 million, citing emotional distress he was forced to endure while watching Sanders endure the slide. So he's distressed over watching Shador Sanders, bro, being distressed.

This guy gets a dollar. I'm retiring.

He's not going to the 55 year old self professed Colorado football fan filed the suit last week claiming NFL owners were colluding with each other not to to draft and saying that they can't get away with it. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. It has to stop. But the man is apparently representing himself. So you know, if he's gonna take on the NFL lawyers, I don't think this is gonna work.

That bike sold for $125,000 in auction.

And you can see while my kids are answering, my son's going through his baseball card book because they're all cards are back.

So let's take you back to 86. Probably your primo days of collecting. Right. 87ish.

What would be your prize collection? Your prize card? Because there was a card so highly coveted that it needed police escort through Denver.

[Rich Davis]

I saw that.

[Steve Cavino]

Yeah. So there was a whole Brinks truck and police squad and motorcycles worth $40 million. They were protecting a $40 million car owned by a Denver attorney, a private collector in Denver, just to be put on display. But again, this card, so valuable. It was a police escort and it was the Mickey Mantle rookie. But again, it was graded. So it poses like a lot of questions, like for fun. Can you imagine if you had anything even remotely as valuable where you need police escort? The most rated thing and valuable thing I have was Conseco's rated rookie in 86. He also posed the question, like, when. When you have a good card, is it really worth getting it graded? Or do you pull what Danny G. Does and you just buy it graded from the shop? Buy it graded already.

I think if you have it from your childhood, your only option is to get it graded if you plan on selling it. Otherwise, you might be wasting your money to grade if you don't plan on selling it.

[Steve Cavino]

But what makes this card $40 million for real?

[Rich Davis]

It's, like, perfect mint.

[Steve Cavino]

That is perfectly mint. And it's graded, you know, high. It's an official graded card now. $40 million.

[Rich Davis]

If you had a lottery ticket. I know there's some states that make you claim your name and tell you who you know. Some you could do it anonymous. Some you could have someone else claim it. There are states, I think California is one of them, where you would actually have to go and be like, Danny Gratio.

[Danny G]

Yes. They announce it.

[Rich Davis]

You have to announce your name. Would you. Would you hire someone to, like, escort you with that ticket? Would you just put in your pocket, like, if you had $100 million Mega Millions tickets, are you just putting in your back pocket and like, driving to.

[Danny G]

The lottery station, you at least find your neighborhood. Debo.
