Listen, we said it. We said the NFL is king. But the minute it dies down, we're still interested in the off season but it's the NBA's opportunity and I feel like they are stepping it up. So we'll talk some NBA today, some NFL moves being made.
Steve Covino
We're going to say some NFL moves like you're Trump. I think I heard a little Trump in there.
Rich Davis
Some man of fan moves.
Steve Covino
You hear Rich, he's slowly morphing into a mix of Seacrest and Trump and a little bit of his dad. I hear the oh, how are you?
Monsi Belano
You're fired.
Steve Covino
Every once in a while I hear it.
Rich Davis
What a weird cover that is. Trump and my dad.
Steve Covino
Yeah, you combine them all, you get Rich.
Rich Davis
But I did want to start the show not talking about Stephen A. Smith and him talking about the Lakers. Not talking about.
Monsi Belano
You want to talk Charles Barkley.
Steve Covino
The Charles Barkley.
Rich Davis
Sir Charles. Some call him some column. Sir Charles.
Steve Covino
Wait a second.
Monsi Belano
You guys better not talk Lakers or Warriors today.
Steve Covino
Oh no, no. We, we got to talk even step. Even though I don't want to because I know he loves it and denies it. He loves the fact that people are talking about his confrontation with LeBron. We got lots to get.
Rich Davis
This is going to get. We're going to get to that. But what do we do best on Cavino and Rich? A lot of people say the fun, the nonsense, the let's be honest, some of the non sports stuff.
Steve Covino
Well, dude, I don't get it. It's sports. Sports is fun. So I think we're doing what we're.
Rich Davis
Supposed to be doing, blending the fun of life in with sports. Now you and I always say that we have passion for a few things in life and you love to say you love sports. A nice heinie and music.
Steve Covino
That's right.
Rich Davis
Nice and a good fight.
Steve Covino
Well, I don't know if it's in that order. Exactly.
Rich Davis
Yeah. I was gonna say.
Monsi Belano
I'm gonna say baseball and boxing also in there.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
I would have said sports. I would have said sports until I discovered women as, like, a preteen. I love Gary Carter. Until I put my Cindy Crawford poster up.
Steve Covino
Yeah, it all changed.
Rich Davis
But women, sports, entertainment. This is sort of what got Camino and I to become friends.
Steve Covino
That's true.
Rich Davis
We bonded over our love of those.
Steve Covino
Things in our early 20s. Yeah.
Rich Davis
And now, too, let's be honest.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
You still like a nice booty and a good game.
Steve Covino
Unfortunately, you haven't changed that much. No.
Rich Davis
I saw someone on social media call Covino out, and they thought he was insulting him. And I think it was a compliment. Someone said, covino, that guy has no maturity. He acts like a stupid teenager. And Kavino's probably like, thank you.
Steve Covino
He said something like, he has the immaturity of a sixth grader. And I was like, thanks.
Danny G
Better than fifth grade.
Steve Covino
I was like, stevie passed the third grade. Oh, what a glorious day. He barely passed third grade.
Rich Davis
I bring that up because what do we care about? It makes sense. There's two stories in the news that have to do with booty, and I'm gonna tie it into sports. And you say, rich, how do you do it? And I'll tell you, genius behavior is how I do it. It's, you know, it's what I'm made from. We talked a lot about how the Yankees finally have accepted the fact that it's 2025 and young men want to have some freedom in the facial hair department. And it went over well. The team discussed it, former players personnel, Hal Steinbrenner. And they made this big decision, and everyone, for the most part, was like, no Yankees. Great move.
Steve Covino
Can I just say this, though? It was because there was a compromise, and not everybody got into that side of the story. I saw a lot of Photoshops and people at Hobo Grizzly beards. They said very specifically, well groomed beards. So I like that.
Rich Davis
And it was an adjusted rule because the reality is they said well groomed mustaches back then because it was the 70s when they made this rule. Right when your dad was at Studio 54.
Steve Covino
Yep, 50 years ago with his platform shoes. Okay, so it's 2025. I know where you're going.
Rich Davis
Yankees make the adjustment. We all make adjustments. There's two stories. One about a flight attendant who got fired from Alaska Air because on social media she was seen doing the slightest little fun, cute twerking dance. And now There's a cop, a female detective, nypd, that might get fired because in her spare time, she was part of a rap video where she's shaking that booty. And I gotta say, would you say for the first one, buckle your seat, it's ready for takeoff?
Danny G
I don't think you're ready about this jelly.
Steve Covino
Perfect.
Rich Davis
Bringing the jelly.
Steve Covino
Happen to be ready for the jelly, just in case you're wondering.
Rich Davis
So buckle up. I just think the same way the Yankees have said, hey, listen, we're gonna follow the lead of society. We're not gonna go overboard. But we have to understand young men want, like, a nice groom beard. I think we have to understand young women in 2025 should not get fired for a little twerking action. A little booty shaking. These women weren't showing every now only fans.
Steve Covino
It was a big story. This airline.
Monsi Belano
Well, that detective in the rap video, she's kind of showing everything.
Steve Covino
Yeah. Hold on. I gotta see this twerking video. You know, for research purposes. Let's make that clear, because I never watched a video, so I gotta see. I did read the article. It was everywhere. I got to see. You're really downplaying it.
Rich Davis
The airline one wasn't done in an overtly sexual way.
Monsi Belano
It was almost like she twerked for four seconds.
Rich Davis
It would almost be like if Danny G or Monty or someone was like, yeah, it's party time. Like, she put her foot up a little on the chair and just did like. Like 1, 2, 3.
Danny G
Like, I do that three times a day here.
Rich Davis
You do that before every update.
Steve Covino
One day, you know, you're going to get. You're going to get a big Vince McMahon. You fire, I don't record it.
Danny G
That's the difference.
Steve Covino
I know Rich will say Y.
Rich Davis
So I'm just saying the way the Yankees adjusted. See, I tied it into sports.
Danny G
Nice.
Rich Davis
I think as a society, we need to remember not to be stick in the muds.
Steve Covino
But how about this, though? How about something called There's a word. Rich, you may have to look this one up. Class. How about we don't abandon something called class And a little bit dignity and the fact that you do represent companies and you should carry yourself in such a way, like, if you're representing the nypd, don't be showing your ass in your spare time. I don't think that is a good look, and it's probably embarrassing to their kids in the future. Look, there's a lot of things not to sound like a hypocrite, things that I've done in radio that I'm embarrassed of because I'm a dad of a teenage daughter.
Rich Davis
Now, his daughter's friends found some of our parodies from the 2000s.
Steve Covino
Yeah. But again, this is in my early 20s. It was almost encouraged because I'm a radio personnel. Yes, the stuff we did. But if you're a cop and you're doing those things and it's sort of a bad look to that department, I think you're always representing a company. Just because things are progressing Rich, doesn't mean you throw all of your pride and dignity in your class out the window, man. I. Look, I'm a. I'm a dad of a teenage daughter, so I'm always policing what she's putting out there, too. Like, would you be okay if your daughter was showing her ass, if she was a professional at the same time on that level in a video like that? Danny G. Already said it. Fully exposed, dude. Full on cheeks. So that's a little much. There's a sliding scale. One story is. And I gotta see it, but you're really downplaying. She just shaking a little bit, having fun. I'm okay with that. This other girl who's in the news today in New York, that's a little risque. Should she be fired? I don't want to see anybody be fired. But I could see some sort of penalty, some sort of warning. You know, we could learn from this and say, hey, maybe you should cut back on that because we want you to carry yourself at a certain standard. That's not wrong to ask when people.
Rich Davis
Are paying you a warning or some guidelines is one.
Steve Covino
That's fine. I don't want to see anybody get fired.
Rich Davis
I think there's a big difference between twerking and dancing and, you know, goofing around or even being sexual is way different than. Way different than if you said, you know, your kids, second grade teachers on OnlyFans, that I don't think we could be doing that.
Danny G
Mm.
Rich Davis
But. But those are not the same thing. I want you to look at this Alaska Airlines video, and you tell me if you think that's a fireball fence. I know. Danny, you said. Well, she is in her, you know, flight attendant uniform, which is probably their.
Monsi Belano
Case, and they have rules about what they can and can't do once they're aboard the aircraft.
Steve Covino
Is this it? No, that's not it. You said Alaska Airlines, right?
Rich Davis
I believe it was.
Danny G
Let's see.
Steve Covino
Oh, wait, here it is. Is this it? Yeah.
Rich Davis
There she is when she's crying on the news?
Monsi Belano
Yeah, she's been making the rounds.
Steve Covino
Who is she? The star of Crocodile Tears.
Rich Davis
But when you see the.
Steve Covino
Her and Sandy Lyle.
Rich Davis
Inappropriate, bro.
Steve Covino
I'm sorry, should she be fired? No, but she's got the stanky leg. One leg up. Twerking her butt cheeks in her uniform.
Danny G
In her uniform is exactly what I say, bro.
Steve Covino
See, I knew he downplayed it.
Rich Davis
Yeah. Like, should she be fired?
Steve Covino
No. Am I a hypocrite because I find her hot and sexy? Yes.
Rich Davis
A smidge.
Danny G
Yeah, she's very attractive.
Steve Covino
I'm a guy of. What am I gonna say? Oh, man, I hate this inappropriate. But I do understand that you have to conduct yourself in a certain way. Rich and I have full on adult conversations every day behind a paywall on our Patreon. We encourage you guys to check it out if you want. I don't conduct myself that way at Fox Sports and if I did, I would be penalized in a certain way. So for you to defend it. I think it's odd just because it's 2025.
Rich Davis
Sometimes I forget, hey, man, it's the 90s.
Steve Covino
You gotta like loosen up. It's the 90s.
Monsi Belano
And I just sent you guys the link to where you can actually see the rap video.
Danny G
Oh, I've seen.
Steve Covino
Serve and protect those cheeks. Like inappropriate.
Rich Davis
You know why I pulled you over?
Monsi Belano
Whoa.
Steve Covino
You know what? And you know what? As an officer, whatever you want, Officer, you're supposed to command, right?
Rich Davis
Right.
Steve Covino
You're serving and protecting. You pull somebody over that's like, hey, aren't you the one with your cheeks down?
Rich Davis
Exactly.
Steve Covino
You're not respecting that person the way you should in a position of authority. Do you find her attractive? Do you want to have a drink with her?
Rich Davis
Yeah, I would let her handcuff me.
Steve Covino
But you would not be looking at her the way you're supposed to be looking at her.
Monsi Belano
Don't forget, detectives, no joke. You have to work for years to step up to that.
Steve Covino
And by the way, like I said, would you can. Would you want your kid to be acting this way or your wife to be acting this way? There's a place for it. Guys, I'm not being, you know, the prude route here. I'm not being that guy again because it's very hypocritical. Hypocritical. These women are beautiful and they're thing. But they're in the workplace.
Rich Davis
I have what one might consider a ridiculous hypothetical or yo, Rich, that's not at all. And it's not sexist because Monty's gonna tell me it's not okay because no one wants to see dudes on OnlyFans for the most part.
Steve Covino
Right.
Rich Davis
It's onlyfans. You'd imagine. It's mostly.
Steve Covino
I'm on the Mexican one. Los Lonely fans. Los Lonely, Yeah.
Rich Davis
He just sits around with. Eating a bag of Doritos and playing guitar.
Monsi Belano
I'm on the one Byer created. Only Dance.
Steve Covino
Oh, Only Dance. Yeah. That's a good one.
Rich Davis
Yeah. Danny G and Dan by are the.
Steve Covino
Hanging out Only Dance. It's pretty high.
Monsi Belano
No, it's all female subscribers. But you can. You have to be a Dan or a Daniel or Danny to have a page.
Danny G
Amazing.
Steve Covino
I heard some of the Dan are on there.
Rich Davis
All of them.
Monsi Belano
Dan Patrick's on there.
Rich Davis
So only Dan's only fans.
Steve Covino
I gotta ask Los Lonely fans.
Rich Davis
A big. A big topic over the last couple years is how a lot of female athletes are underpaid. Now you could make the argument which is correct, which is the revenue. If it were higher, they'd get paid more. We've had this conversation. We get it. What if an attractive WNBA player, a Cameron Brink, a Kelsey Plum, an Angel Reese. What if one of those girls was like, screw it, I'm doing an OnlyFans? Would the WNBA be like, I can't tell you what to do. Like, do you think that is a possibility?
Monsi Belano
They might like the attention because a lot of their players have gone like almost Runway fashion.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Monsi Belano
Slant, sexy, swimsuit vibe. So that's helped the wnba.
Steve Covino
There was a player recently who signed the first contract with Playboy. It was in the news this past week.
Rich Davis
Yeah, but I'm saying, like, listen, Jeannie Buss, one of the most respected owners in sports, wasn't she in Playboy back in the day?
Monsi Belano
But an athlete in a way. They're almost like an independent contractor.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Monsi Belano
Like, yeah, you can irritate your franchise and there are clauses maybe in certain things with your contract, but it's not like working at a regular 9 to 5 job or for a police department.
Steve Covino
Right.
Danny G
And I think it's interesting that you bring up the WNBA because like you just said, Danny G. It's like you might have a clause, but this person's gonna be like, okay, so you take away when I don't make any here anyway.
Rich Davis
Dude, you would take.
Danny G
I make it all over here.
Rich Davis
Imagine. And again, pick who you want. I'm just naming the girls I know in the wnba, but a Kelsey Plum or a Cameron Brink or a Paige Bucher.
Steve Covino
Right.
Danny G
Paige Beckers.
Steve Covino
Beckers.
Rich Davis
Beckers.
Danny G
Who's in college.
Rich Davis
College. But if one of these girls was like, hey, listen, what do I get in the WNBA? What is this, $80,000? Yeah. I can make $80,000 in a week on OnlyFans.
Danny G
Yeah, easily.
Rich Davis
What if they said, hey, I'm a star in the wnba, but until the league is ready to pay me the money that I want to make, I'm going to be doing videos?
Danny G
Yeah.
Rich Davis
What would they do? What would the league do?
Danny G
Danny might be right, that the league might be all about it because it's bringing attention to the wnba.
Monsi Belano
And Rich on your list, you forgot the one who started all this back in the day, Skyler Diggins. I think she's Diggins Smith now, but she was like, the first kind of beautiful face of the wnba. And I remember at the time when she was being promoted, I remember reading comments saying, man, the WNBA needs more of this.
Rich Davis
Why? Why are we pretending that men don't like again? What did I start this conversation with? Covino and I bonded 20 years ago over our love of sports women. You know, guy culture, right?
Monsi Belano
Mm.
Rich Davis
What? Anna Kournikova, Danica Patrick. You know, women that are also attractive in sports. Why do you think? Why do you think? Softball pitcher.
Danny G
Mendoza.
Steve Covino
No, no, no, no.
Rich Davis
Hold on now. I'm drawing a bike on the old name.
Steve Covino
Beautiful blonde. Yeah, she threw heat. She was on our show. Very famous.
Rich Davis
That I. We all drew a blanket. Do you think Jenny Finch would be as popular if she wasn't also attractive? So what I'm saying is, like, I would not be shocked if you're seeing flight attendants, cops, everyone in this generation. In this generation where sexuality is way more open and people seem to are, you know, seem to be, for the most part, very out there with their sexuality.
Steve Covino
And by the way, for the record, those of you keeping score at home, it's former K State women's basketball guard Jada Thorpe, who signed a deal with Playboy. I don't know if you guys saw.
Monsi Belano
Yeah, And Cove. I was reading prior to her in 2022, Liz Cambidge. She was a WNBA All Star until she retired in 2022. She joined OnlyFans right after she retired and reportedly made more in her first week there on of than she earned in her entire WNBA career.
Steve Covino
What do those two stories have in common after their playing days?
Rich Davis
And weren't there some female UFC fighters that got on Only Fans too?
Steve Covino
I'm not surprised. And.
Rich Davis
And by the way, since you opened.
Steve Covino
It up, what are the ethics? Like, what if your girlfriend's best friend is on Only Fans or a coworker. Are you allowed to look? It's the weirdest thing. It's the weirdest world we're living right now.
Rich Davis
I'm just saying, the benefit for you is now that some of these beautiful women are doing this.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
You could change your wallpaper from a rod kissing himself in the mirror. You've had that for far too long.
Steve Covino
I've had that for way too long. But I just don't get the ethics. Like, you know, for years you always imagined, like, what that hot girl in the office looked like, and now you could probably see because she might have an only fans. And then your wife finds out and you're like, I'm just supporting her.
Rich Davis
Hey, Monty, if you found out your dude had an attractive female co worker.
Steve Covino
And she had an only fans.
Rich Davis
She had an only fans. And he was like, yeah, babe, I'm like, supporting my friend.
Steve Covino
Yeah, you're supporting my friend.
Danny G
Absolutely not. Don't tell me about it. Absolutely not.
Steve Covino
Well, that's what I'm saying. What are the ethics? But again, there are ethics. And I don't think if you're working for a company or playing for a team, you should have the right to do that while they're paying you. I'm sure it's in their contracts. And, you know, if that's what they want to do, go right ahead. But you're not playing for our team because there's kids involved, dude. There's kids and young fans and families. It just doesn't go hand in hand, I don't think. You know, like I said, I know you're thinking anything goes because it's 20, 25 and you're so progressive.
Rich Davis
Dude, it's the 20s.
Steve Covino
It's still. There's still like.
Monsi Belano
Yeah. And it's boundaries.
Steve Covino
You know what I mean?
Monsi Belano
It's worse when you're. We have a lot of girl dads listening. I have a stepdaughter. Covino's a girl dad. Yeah. We don't want our daughters having pages.
Steve Covino
I don't. You know, it used to be keep them off the pole. Now it's keep them off the pages. Yeah. Keep them off the only fans. Keep their cheeks off the gram. It's a tough job, so I don't want to condone it. Although in the same breath, I'm like, oh, she's hot. Right? But that's kind of how a lot of us guys see it.
Rich Davis
Well, let it be known as of. Oh, my God. There's.
Steve Covino
There's a time and a place. I don't think you could be doing both. You want to do that stuff, do it when you're done playing for whatever organization you're in. Some people make when you're done being a flight attendant, all those things. Look, when you're done.
Rich Davis
Hold on. When you're done being a flight attendant, you think someone's gonna see your body when you're old, let's be honest, man or woman.
Danny G
That's true.
Rich Davis
So I mean, right now they don't.
Steve Covino
Work for the airline.
Danny G
That's true.
Rich Davis
Just to throw. Just to throw. Just to throw a number at you, Covino. To throw a number at you. And again with this generation's, you know, lackadaisical. Is that a word, right? My mom uses it like lackadaisical.
Steve Covino
Some people lean into the lax, some people say lack.
Rich Davis
Yeah, lackad. With the lackadaisical, as my mom would say, attitude about sexuality these days. Are you shocked to know that there's about 5 million OnlyFans creators?
Steve Covino
Yeah, but they're not all.
Rich Davis
They're not all making. They're not all making money.
Steve Covino
Right.
Rich Davis
But I'm just saying, would you be shocked if some popular women in the world of sports went that route? When you see who is the. There's been actresses that have like not got work for a while. They go on onlyfans and it's like, you know who's on onlyfans now? Denise Richards and her daughter.
Danny G
Wow.
Rich Davis
And they have a rule. They don't look at each other's content.
Steve Covino
Way to go.
Rich Davis
But to think Charlie Sheen's daughter and his ex wife both on of.
Danny G
And there's also passes now.
Monsi Belano
Right.
Danny G
Like that's the first step.
Rich Davis
So your thoughts at 87799 on Fox. And we are going to get to the Lakers and the Knicks last night, probably the game of the year. We're going to talk some NFL QB situations. We're going to play a great game called quote me. So a lot of fun, a lot of sports coming up. But your thoughts as, as we see flight attendants, cops and people.
Steve Covino
Keep this in mind. You could do whatever you want when you're done working here.
Rich Davis
No, but see there's, you're. You're missing the big rub.
Steve Covino
The big rub is like we want you because we pay you to conduct yourself a particular type of way. Because we pay you.
Rich Davis
But when you would want to do that job is not when you're old.
Steve Covino
Then don't do this job, that job.
Rich Davis
Your thoughts at Covino, Rich? We got more.
Steve Covino
So let's go to the phones at 877-99-FOX just to chop it up. And then we'll talk some Lakers and Stephen A. And Aaron Rodgers and more.
Rich Davis
Let's go to Stephen Boise. Is that a potato in your pants? What's up, Steve? Hey, what's going on, guys?
Steve Covino
What's up, bro? Hey.
Monsi Belano
So first of all, I want to.
Steve Covino
Say I've been in construction a long.
Monsi Belano
Time, and I haven't been able to.
Steve Covino
Listen to you guys now that I'm in sales. I listen to you guys every day. And I love the show, dude.
Rich Davis
Appreciate that.
Steve Covino
Thank you, buddy.
Rich Davis
You got good.
Monsi Belano
My wife worked for Alaska Airlines, and.
Rich Davis
She was actually a little bit upset.
Monsi Belano
With this story, and mainly because she totally understood why she got fired. So they have some of the strictest policies of any company I've ever been aware of.
Rich Davis
She's worked with them for a few years.
Monsi Belano
They have a no nicotine policy.
Rich Davis
They have a, you know, obviously no.
Monsi Belano
Drug policy, but if you even vape.
Rich Davis
Or anything, you'll get fired.
Monsi Belano
You sign a union contract. And it is so intense and crazy.
Rich Davis
To even work there, let alone keep your job there.
Steve Covino
So this didn't surprise me at all that she got canned. And look, is she high? But. And thanks for calling. Thanks for the insight. And, Rich, he does say here it's a sweet potato in his pants. And he's also happy to be on the show, but thank you, Steve. She puts one leg up onto the seat, so. And then starts twerking.
Rich Davis
No, but does. How many. But still, she does twerk. Twerk. Twerk.
Steve Covino
I know.
Rich Davis
Three little.
Steve Covino
Not the worst thing in the world. So that's why I don't think she should be fired. But, you know, she should be maybe. Warned.
Monsi Belano
Yeah, the length.
Steve Covino
Suspended for a weekend or something.
Monsi Belano
With policies, Rich, it doesn't really matter the length, because you couldn't say F word. F word. F word on our network. You'd still get fired.
Rich Davis
Let's test it. I'm kidding. You know, it's interesting. There is that balance of. All right, let's not go overboard. But society moves along. I'll give you an example. Next week, we're gonna be away. We're taking a few days off. I'm gonna be in Mexico. Women's bathing suits now, including my wife. My wife's booty's gonna be out. Are there bathing suits that even cover an ass anymore?
Steve Covino
Yes. Because guess what? I have three sisters, and none of them wear stuff like that.
Rich Davis
What are they, grannies?
Steve Covino
I guess so. But to answer your question, yes, they still make, like, regular bathing suits. You don't have to have your cheeks out, bro. I know you like that. We're just trying to hedge the bet here. So when creepy stuff about him comes out, when he has his only fans, that he could be like, yeah, what a Mr. Progressive. We all like it. We all like women in their bikinis and all that stuff. But there's a time and place, and if you're an NYPD OFF PD officer.
Rich Davis
All right, nerd, you could say that.
Steve Covino
Or you could say I'm right. I'm not.
Rich Davis
I'm not going to say you're right, but it's a good conversation and we love your thoughts at Covino and Rich. Now, before we get to Monty with your sports update, I have an update. In the world of just like news, I saw Harvey Levin, I'm a lawyer on tmz, just broke some news on the Gene Hackman death.
Steve Covino
Yo, this is wild, by the way. This is not in Monty's update.
Rich Davis
Imansi, put aside Luca and LeBron for a second. So we all know the sad passing. You know, lived a great life. 90 something years old, Gene Hackman and his wife were found dead in the house. Apparently the coroner's office and the authorities are now saying his wife passed away on February 11 from a disease.
Steve Covino
Like a rodent disease, like some type of infection, some sort of disease that rodents carry.
Rich Davis
And then he passed away from what they think could be a combination of something Alzheimer's related and heart disease. And Alzheimer's, they can't tell if it's a heart attack, but sort of saying.
Monsi Belano
Heart attack without saying, yeah, we had heard medical emergency.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
So but on February 18, which insinuates he lived with Alzheimer's, which is so sad, right in that house for a week with his wife laying dead there.
Steve Covino
So they don't know. I didn't hear anything about the dog either, by the way. But so just weird story.
Rich Davis
Very sad, weird story. But yeah, Gene Hackman apparently this time died seven days after his wife, which means for a week she was just there and he was. That's terrible.
Steve Covino
And that's breaking as we speak.
Rich Davis
Make some noise for the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry. We went live from All Star Weekend for a new podcast called Go Greatest of Their Era. And we ranked our top five shooters from the 2000s.
Steve Covino
Peja 5. Dirk Ford. Peja is a leak.
Rich Davis
Okay, I'm mad him.
Steve Covino
I left him off my list, but I still like my list.
Rich Davis
You won't believe who Steph left off his List.
Steve Covino
That's so tough. That's why we have these conversations.
Rich Davis
Yes, absolutely.
Steve Covino
Love it.
Rich Davis
Steph talked about what separates the truly elite NBA shooters.
Steve Covino
When you have a scouting report and you're on the list as not just a shooter, but we have specific rules for how we guard you. There's a fear factor that's associated with anytime you're wide open. Like, you might as well just count that and get on back on defense.
Rich Davis
Listen to Go G O T e greatest of their era on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Steve Covino
It's Julie Stewart Banks. I'm doing a new podcast from iHeart Podcasts and the National Hockey League, and I'm paired up with one of my favorite players, the always quotable Nate Thompson. I wore nine NHL sweaters and I have story after story to share.
Monsi Belano
And believe it or not, I have.
Steve Covino
Plenty to say, and not just about hockey. Believe me, he does Energy Line with Nate, and JSB is the name of the podcast, and it's going to be, well, it's going to be quite the ride. We're officially line mates, Nate. We're the Energy Line. We'll have plenty of folks join us. Current players, some of my former teammates, hall of Famers, and wait till you see some of the connections that Julie has. She has quite the Rolodex. Okay. We'll lean into Nate's playing experience and tap into our interests away from hockey and try to do what energy lines are supposed to do, provide an emotional boost. How do you feel about all that, Nate? I'm vibing Julie. I'm ready to roll. Listen to Energy Line with Nate and jsb on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Monsi Belano
Something about Mary Poppins.
Rich Davis
Something about Mary Poppins. Exactly. Oh, man, this is fun.
Steve Covino
I'm A.J.
Rich Davis
Jacobs, and I am an author and a journalist, and I tend to get obsessed with stuff, and my current obsession is puzzles. And that has given birth to my podcast, the Puzzler. Dressing. Dressing.
Steve Covino
French dressing.
Rich Davis
Exactly. Oh, that's good. Now you can get your daily puzzle nuggets delivered straight to your ears. I thought to myself, I bet I know what this is. And now I definitely know what this is.
Steve Covino
This is so weird. This is fun.
Rich Davis
Let's try this one. Our brand new season features special guests like Chuck Bryant, Mayim Bialik, Julie Bowen, Sam Sanders, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and lots more. Listen to the Puzzler every day on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get Your podcasts.

Rich Davis
Hey, Will, do you ever get overwhelmed.
Monsi Belano
By how much science happens these days?
Rich Davis
Constantly. I'm like, ah, there's so much science, I can't keep track of it all.
Monsi Belano
Then it's a good thing.
Rich Davis
Our podcast, Part Time Genius is counting down the 25 greatest science ideas from the past 25 years. That's right, Mango. We're talking animals in a paper called Chickens prefer beautiful Humans. This was actually the title of the paper. They all discovered that, much like humans, chickens are attracted to symmetrical faces.
Steve Covino
Got it. We're talking medical miracles.
Rich Davis
He's an endocrinologist who found a way to stimulate insulin producing cells using, wait for it, the saliva of a Gila monster. There's no way to make that not sound crazy. We even talked to some of the.
Steve Covino
Experts behind these breakthroughs.
Rich Davis
It's a week full of fact packed stories you won't want to miss. So listen to the Part Time Genius countdown of the 25 greatest science ideas of the past 25 years. Starting Monday, March 3rd, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Steve Covino
It's Covino and rich.
Rich Davis
The iHeartradiopt.
Steve Covino
Yes, on the iHeartradio app.
Rich Davis
The iHeartradio app. My favorite app other than loaded nachos.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
Monsi, are you watching the Love is Blind wedding episode tonight or what?
Danny G
I cannot wait. Dan Beyer asked me to fill in for him today, and then I realized that the episode was released and I was like, I messed up. I should be at home right now watching this wedding episode.
Rich Davis
They released them at 3am East coast time. So it was released last night at midnight and my wife was dozing off. I'm like, come on, it hasn't been.
Danny G
Like that, has it? Yeah, at midnight. I feel like in the past midnight, west coast, they did it at like noon the next day.
Steve Covino
Why does it get better?
Monsi Belano
I was gonna say I've been dozing off this entire season.
Steve Covino
Yeah, I was falling asleep the whole time.
Rich Davis
I mean, other than that loser Dave. No offense. Sorry, Dave.
Steve Covino
Dave. But it must get better. If you're that pumped about the reunion.
Rich Davis
I just want to say. No, the weddings are today. The reunion. I don't know.
Danny G
I don't know. So you saw it?
Rich Davis
No, I have not. I don't.
Steve Covino
Oh, you have not. Okay.
Danny G
I'm just. I don't know who's actually gonna say. I do.
Rich Davis
There's one guy on this show, and we're gonna get to Lakers and sports. Don't worry. But if you do watch a stupid show, there's a guy. Dave.
Danny G
Yes.
Rich Davis
That makes the girl he matched up with feel so bad for, I don't know, existing before this show.
Danny G
Unreal.
Rich Davis
Like, you know when people use the word gaslighting, I hate it because that word makes me want to throw up in my mouth.
Steve Covino
I feel like it's before gas. Or was it just manipulating?
Rich Davis
Yeah, manipulating.
Monsi Belano
But Rich, I don't like either of them because he straight up ast in the pods what her last relationship was.
Danny G
But that's not a relationship.
Monsi Belano
Okay, but she didn't end it.
Danny G
So you don't know if she said that. We don't know if they. If she did mention.
Monsi Belano
She did. No, she said that she left it open ended. She didn't. She didn't close it off with the guy that she was messing around with.
Rich Davis
If you watch a stupid show, you'll get it. If not, we're moving on. But I've never.
Monsi Belano
That's been the argument and drama from the bro.
Rich Davis
I've never seen a grown man in my life care more about what his sister thinks.
Danny G
A little bit uncomfortable.
Rich Davis
It's like, uncomfortable.
Danny G
Yes, it is.
Rich Davis
Are you in love with your sister?
Monsi Belano
You weird.
Danny G
She even had to say, like, no, no, she doesn't control me. But like, she said I could go on the show. What?
Steve Covino
Yeah, I gotta see it.
Danny G
Cuckoo bird.
Rich Davis
Yeah, cuckoo bird.
Steve Covino
Rich also doesn't really care much about what any of his family members think. I haven't seen this episode, so I don't know how drastic it is.
Rich Davis
I'm a grown man. Kavino says things sometimes like, what would my mother think? I'm like, you're in your 40s, Rich.
Monsi Belano
I said this out loud too, but Brenda said, well, his mom died when he was younger and so his sister has kind of been like the mom to them.
Steve Covino
I mean, you're supposed to care what your parents think, dude. They don't control your decisions. But there's, you know, again, boundaries and things. You don't cross because your parents are alive, are they not? They are. So you're just gonna do things and not care that you're still their son and you're a family member. You don't want to represent your name in a certain way.
Rich Davis
The minute your parents are gone, you're gonna do an OnlyFans. Maybe.
Steve Covino
But I wouldn't do things to embarrass my family, because I can't. I know you don't care, but it's called respect. I don't get it, but this is going on.
Danny G
The show is not embarrassing.
Steve Covino
I know. I haven't seen this episode. Yeah, well, even if it is, even.
Monsi Belano
If it had dropped earlier last night, we wouldn't have watched it because of the Lakers. And it's true.
Danny G
That went late.
Rich Davis
You know, you know, the.
Steve Covino
We gotta talk about that.
Monsi Belano
That overtime was sick.
Rich Davis
You know, a beefcake Tarzan looking guy on the show. Yes, Joey. Is it Joey?
Danny G
I think it's Joey. Yeah, it sounds right.
Rich Davis
He's. He matched up with a girl who has the worst sister in the world and. But the crazy part is to care about what your siblings think about and stuff.
Danny G
What are you about to say? What are you about to say?
Rich Davis
At that point, the girl goes. She says this phrase. It's the most ridiculous. She goes. The girl that was in the pods goes to her sister. It's not like I went into this blind and it's like, that's exactly what you did.
Steve Covino
It's Love is blind.
Rich Davis
That's the show.
Steve Covino
Love is blind.
Rich Davis
Anyway, watch stupid shows. We'll go over what to watch in weekend hobnobbing. But forget stupid reality. Last night might have been the best regular season NBA game this year. You can argue.
Steve Covino
You could argue. Turn on the game.
Monsi Belano
Sports is the best reality tv that.
Rich Davis
Is, let me tell you. There was. There was an OKC Cleveland. Cleveland game earlier in the year that was, you know, the two best teams and they battled. But last night it felt like a playoff environment because I had come from the barbershop when my barber had the ambian. We watched the lamest Sixers, Celtics game.
Danny G
I don't even know why that was on.
Rich Davis
It was in the second half. I was like, are the Sixers playing? Do they. There's a game going on.
Steve Covino
But to be fair, that's how most games Feel. Not all games feel like that Knicks.
Danny G
Lakers game last year, but the Sixers Celtics game, like nobody was playing. It was Jason Tatum and that's it.
Steve Covino
No, I get it. And it was not memorable. And put up some big numbers. It was boring, but still, that's how I feel watching most games up until a certain point in the season. And the Knicks, Lakers really turned it on because it was a good high stakes game and a statement game of where these teams really are. And that's why there was intrigue there. And that's why both teams came out wanting to prove that they're legit.
Rich Davis
When you look into some of these players eyes, you know, through the TV screen, I'm looking at you, Jalen Brunson. No, but there are guys that play. You could, you could see they're playing with a playoff level intensity. And I think I texted Danny, he goes, don't forget Lakers, Knicks. I go, this is a really good test for both of these teams. And they both probably felt that way, like, all right, this is a great barometer of where we are. With the playoffs approaching shortly, let me tell you, what a freaking game. And Luca and LeBron, I, you know, when you gain a confidence, you know when a baseball player is so hot, they say, they say it looks like the ball's a beach ball coming in. They must feel like, I don't know if anyone could beat us.
Steve Covino
It's also LeBron 100% trusting his teammates. I think it's, it's not the first.
Monsi Belano
Time, but, but I've never seen him defer to this level.
Steve Covino
Okay, so. Exactly. Right. So he totally defers because he knows Luca can handle it. And I think that's what we're seeing here and why it's magical.
Rich Davis
The intensity for the Lakers. Knicks last night had a playoff atmosphere and it got us thinking that is this the is. Are the Lakers now in a position where when Luka and LeBron have clicked, that they now feel as though they're the team to beat? Or do you say, listen, OKC was.
Steve Covino
Still 10 games better than everyone LeBron's shoulders anymore, and you're seeing that, you know, he has someone else that he trusts and both of these dudes make other players on the team better. And you saw that with Gay Vincent hitting a key shot yesterday. You know, Danny G's believing in his boy Hayes now and you were talking about him, Danny G, I didn't believe you. But what's the minute thing you're saying? When he plays more than 20 minutes, they're good.
Monsi Belano
The Lakers are now 13 and 1 when Jackson Hayes has been in the lineup for 20 minutes or longer.
Steve Covino
And we were saying, you only need a big guy. Danny, to the. Nah, man. They got Jackson Hayes.
Monsi Belano
He's good. AD Was really impatient with Hayes's development because obviously Anthony Davis does not like to play the center position.
Danny G
He said that.
Monsi Belano
Yeah. And so when the Lakers wanted him to play the center position, he's like, no, no, no, no. Either trade for. And he said out loud, we need to trade for a center. And Jackson Hayes was over here like, dude, I'm on the team. So now with Jackson, Hayes has stepped up, stepped up.
Steve Covino
Eight points. But Luka, 32 points. LeBron, 31 points. Just shelling again. A game that goes to overtime like that, that was so fun to see last night.
Rich Davis
But even, like I said, Jalen Brunson, you know, he was trying so hard to even finish out that game. His. And that wasn't some BS Wimpy injury. His ankle rolled all the way. Have you.
Monsi Belano
Have you ever seen an ankle go all the way to the floor like that?
Rich Davis
And he got up, hit the free throws, and he wanted to stay. You could see he so badly was trying to walk it. I. The trainer went to rub it. You saw him like, don't even touch it.
Danny G
Yeah, I mean, he did walk off. They did show him walking, so that was a good sign. But, no, he rolled it on all kinds of ways.
Steve Covino
Yeah, but major, major win last night for the Lakers. You're seeing them again gel at just the right time. It's exciting. Not all games that exciting, but it's nice to see. And then the other side story is the whole confrontation.
Rich Davis
Oh.
Steve Covino
Between LeBron and Stephen A.
Rich Davis
He looked at me as a father.
Steve Covino
Not as a player, as a father. And I understand.
Rich Davis
I mean, the fact that that's a story, like. I get it. I mean, Stephen A. If you don't know what we're talking about, was confronted by LeBron, caught off.
Steve Covino
Guard, said, if you could do your best, John Boy. It was something along the lines of, leave my son out of this. S. As if there's to say that, you know, if you're going to take shots at me, don't bring my son into this. But I'm very surprised that Stephen A. Didn't say. As a broadcaster and as a guy who covers the NBA, it's my job. It's his job to cover anyone in the NBA. Maybe he went a little too far. That's up for debate. But I think he has every right to have an opinion on a man, a young man, but still a man that's on the Lakers. So, you know, LeBron bullying him around a little bit, but luckily, Stephen A. Had Larry David as a backup muscle.
Rich Davis
Bro, you took the words right out of my mouth. I was gonna say the funniest takeaway I had.
Steve Covino
I was there with Larry David.
Rich Davis
I'm picturing afterwards. I picture afterwards Larry being like, what was that? Why's he gotta talk to. He came to.
Steve Covino
He's working.
Rich Davis
I can only picture it, like, if it were a Curb episode, like, what would he say? It's really.
Steve Covino
Stephen. A conversation of, you know, Stephen A. Stephen A. Probably loves every second of this, but he's also torn because I'm sure he does feel a little bad. He is a father and he understands. But.
Danny G
But Bronnie hasn't been like, nobody's talking badly about Bronnie as a person.
Steve Covino
No, I think everybody likes Bronnie as a person.
Rich Davis
Everybody likes Bronnie.
Steve Covino
And you're rooting for the kid.
Danny G
Yes.
Steve Covino
But this move does come with criticism.
Danny G
Of course it does.
Rich Davis
And let's not forget the tweet.
Danny G
Remember the tweet where he said his son was better than current players?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Danny G
There's context to all of this.
Steve Covino
Stephen A. Of journalist and maybe crossing the line sometimes. You know, so.
Rich Davis
But I think LeBron, you know, it is like, listen, I got two little kids. You're a dad. Danny G. You're a dad. When. When someone talks about your kids, it's it. You know, you get all twisted because you lose all sense. Right? And I think it's the one spot where. You know how a lot of times when you watch, like, a movie about, like, you know, like, FBI agents and all murder, their weak spot is like, if you know their family, if you get to their family, that's their weak spot.
Steve Covino
Yeah, but it's not personal criticisms. These are basketball criticisms. That's the difference.
Rich Davis
You know, it's. I know it's basketball criticism, but when someone talks about your kid, like, if someone. If someone told me my kid stunk at Little League, I'd be like, yeah, that's great, but now I hate you.
Danny G
But again, you know, he brought his son into the league.
Steve Covino
He did.
Danny G
There's so much to it that I don't think it's like a normal. You guys speaking about. About your kids in Little League. It is not the same.
Steve Covino
Yeah, it's fair game.
Rich Davis
It would be like if my son one day worked for, you know, Fox Sports Radio here, and people like Rich Davis's son not very good on the mic. And like, I was like, stephen A. What did you say?
Steve Covino
Like, and at the same time, you got Charles Barkley criticizing Stephen A. And, like, there's a lot of drama going on in the NBA right now. And Kendrick Perkins, as far as.
Monsi Belano
As far as LeBron, you know, step into Stephen A. Remember the one incident on live TV that morning where Stephen A. Was really going in hard on LeBron, almost like calling him a bad parent.
Steve Covino
That's what I'm saying. He blurs the line.
Monsi Belano
Yeah.
Steve Covino
As a father, stop this. Yeah, he does. He.
Monsi Belano
Then this morning, he's like. Or things he. LeBron thought I said. No, no, you said it.
Steve Covino
Yeah. He was gaslighting LeBron. So that was unfortunately the other story here when we should be talking about, man, LeBron and Luca, which we did. But we have to acknowledge that there was that drama. All social media today that went super viral because you saw LeBron step out of basketball player. He wasn't defending his teammate. He was protecting his son. And I get that. But you also have to understand that journalists. And I use air quotes. Journalists have to do their job.
Rich Davis
I just. It feels genuinely, like, weirdly personal between these two. On top of it, too, which. Which makes it like, because, yeah, it is. It is a guy's son and whatever. But it's. Some of the criticisms of Bronny James feel like it's going even further than it should just because it's LeBron James son. And thus you have to crank it up to 11 to get the reactions, too. And that's maybe fueling LeBron's like. We've seen him start to take shots at media figures he hasn't usually taken before. That's a little embarrassing ranking. No, it is embarrassing because you're a.
Steve Covino
Man at a certain point.
Monsi Belano
Right.
Steve Covino
And Bronny has to be his own man, and he's at the workplace and he's doing his best, and everybody likes Bronnie. But, I mean, no matter what it is you do, you might garner criticism. You could own a restaurant, and you get a bad Yelp review.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Do you want your parents to come in there and defend you? I wonder how that.
Rich Davis
How Bronnie feels about that, too, because. Exactly that. Like, he's got to be like, I don't want my dad stepping in.
Steve Covino
That's my point.
Rich Davis
Anything about this, I can stand for myself. And, you know, maybe it's. He's a rookie. He's just trying to find his way around. Maybe next year, though.
Steve Covino
I mean, We're. We're radio personalities, right? Let's say we're doing a show and we're getting all this bad feedback, which we do sometimes, right? Because they don't. I don't necessarily always agree with our opinions. How embarrassing would it be if my mom was defending me? I'll do.
Rich Davis
I'll do you one. I'll do one that we actually have.
Monsi Belano
If Ian.
Rich Davis
If Ian Eagle had to step in and defend Noah Eagle at some point.
Steve Covino
Right?
Rich Davis
Like, Noah Eagle shouldn't want to have to hear his dad defend him.
Steve Covino
I thought my mom. My mom was a pretty good example. Leave my Stephen alone. I would. I'd be embarrassed by that.
Rich Davis
I'll be honest. There are times where. I mean, my wife has never said anything, but there are times she reads something on social media about me, and she's like, I so badly want to say something. Like, yeah, but, you know, not to. Monsie, you've had some moments where you've said stuff, and people come, in my opinion, wrongly at you. Your family or boyfriend or anyone ever be like, yo, I want to say stuff. And you're like, no, no.
Danny G
Most of them. Yeah. No, they all want to jump in, and I just don't. They're fine. It's not worth it.
Steve Covino
So then how do you think Bronnie feels? Right? Right.
Danny G
I don't. I don't disagree. I'm sure Bronny was like, I really hate this spotlight that I'm in.
Steve Covino
But at the same time, he has probably the crazy. Utmost respect for his dad. He has to. Right? He's okay with it. Right? So anyway, that happened, too. And it does take away a little bit from an amazing night of basketball.
Rich Davis
What are we gonna sit up here? This is what happens. You sit in the front of it.
Steve Covino
We might have to rumble. Larry, be ready.
Rich Davis
I'm lamping. Lamping.
Monsi Belano
So how about Luca's 27 footer in overtime? And the reason it really stood out to me. And, Monsieur, you'll appreciate this because the one clipper back in the day I used to love watching shoot the ball. Jamal Crawford because Sweet Lou.
Danny G
But Jamal Crawford.
Monsi Belano
Crawford because he shot that rainbow shot. Almost like what you got to do at a theme park to get the ball into those little hoops that are.
Danny G
Definitely not a proper shape crooks.
Monsi Belano
And sometimes when Luca does those quick shots, they go straight up.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Monsi Belano
And I'm like, you don't even really see him release it.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Monsi Belano
And that was one of those shots. And when it fell in the. Did you see the net? The net the net swished all the.
Steve Covino
Way on top of the rim. Speaking of Luka, right? Luka comes to the Lakers. The whole narrative changes on the team. People are now comparing LeBron to his MVP seasons. Now LeBron in the MVP conversation, the.
Rich Davis
Chance last night, JJ Redick, coach of.
Steve Covino
The year, like, these are all great things, but they're all because of Luca. Let's be real about that. You know, he was bringing out the best in everybody on this team.
Monsi Belano
Well, that trade energized the entire league.
Rich Davis
Without a doubt, the Lakers were in a good spot. Now they're in a potential NBA Finals path. I'm so intrigued to see how the experience and veteran leadership of LeBron and Luka, together with the young. With the young key players we're seeing emerge. How does that match up against okc, a less experienced team? I mean, think about it. Last year, Luca went to the NBA Finals. LeBron's been there, you know, almost 10 times, right? We're talking about. We're talking about an experienced team versus one with not. But you would argue the inexperienced team is a. Is maybe a better team. So that's gonna. That's gonna really bring some fun to the Western Conference. And let's not forget, you still got the Nuggies and you still got Steph, who has been rejuvenated by Jimmy Bond.
Danny G
Absolutely.
Rich Davis
And did you see. Now listen, 99 out of 100 people, I'd say, oh, that S is lucky. But when he took that half court shot, I was like, no, that's skill. Yeah, he's like the one.
Danny G
He purposely shot it.
Rich Davis
Yes. He's the one human where you're like, no, that wasn't lucky. In an odd way, it's like, no, that was Steph Curry.
Monsi Belano
I love the way he turned around and kind of skipped down the court, too.
Danny G
Oh, yeah, no, no, no.
Steve Covino
But he just really turns it on when the game is on. I saw him. He's always making circus shots. I get it. But I saw him miss 10 three point shots in a row, warming up, and then he comes out and does stuff like that. So amazing to see. All right, so some great basketball guys.
Rich Davis
It's the example to use with your kids. If your kids. I got little kids that are playing, you know, softball, baseball, all their little sports. When I teach them about how you need to practice, like, I'll throw my son five ground balls. And he's like, okay. I'm like, no, no, you want to get good by. We got to do 100 ground balls. Right? And I told my Kids, the other day I told the dad movie, I go, hey, look at this guy. Pulled up a Steph Curry highlight. I go, this guy shoots thousands of shots a week. He doesn't take five shots and then gets a roll up, right?
Danny G
A pat on the back.
Rich Davis
He shoots.
Steve Covino
And he's not that big. Keep that in mind.
Rich Davis
He shoots thousands of shots. We forget the discipline. So when you see Steph turn around against a defender, makes a half court shot, that is not luck. That is thousands of shots. And that's a great lesson for little children.
Steve Covino
It's not practice makes perfect. It's perfect. Practice makes perfect. Never hear that. So great. Basketball heating up. Thank your friend that tipped you off like Danny G did last night. Yo, guys, you better be watching. And because really, you don't want to miss games like that. So great to see. Now we're giving away prizes today. Want to give you the number again at 87799 on Fox.
Monsi Belano
Midnight Black Swiggy.
Steve Covino
Midnight Black Sapphire limited edition Swiggy, which is just our stainless steel water bottle. But it is nice. It's some nice.
Monsi Belano
And I throw. I throw koozies into each package that we mail off. By the way.
Rich Davis
Make some noise for the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry. We went live from All Star weekend for a new podcast called Goat Greatest of their era. And we ranked our top five shooters from the 2000s.
Steve Covino
Peja 5, Dirk Ford. Paja is elite.
Rich Davis
I'm mad him.
Steve Covino
I'm doing a new podcast from iHeart podcast and the National Hockey League and I'm paired up with one of my favorite players. Players, the always quotable Nate Thompson. I wore nine NHL sweaters and I have story after story to share. And believe it or not, I have plenty to say. And not just about hockey. Believe me, he does energy line with Nate And JSB is the name of the podcast, and it's gonna be, well, it's gonna be quite the ride. We're officially linemates, Nate. We're the Energy Line. We'll have plenty of folks join us. Current players, some of my former, former teammates, hall of Famers. And wait till you see some of the connections that Julie has. She has quite the Rolodex. Okay. We'll lean into Nate's playing experience and tap into our interests away from hockey and try to do what energy lines are supposed to do, provide an emotional boost. How do you feel about all that, Nate? I'm vibing, Julie. I'm ready to roll. Listen to Energy Line with Nate and jsb on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or we. Wherever you get your podcasts.
Monsi Belano
Something about Mary Poppins?
Listen to the puzzling every day on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Monsi Belano
That's awful and I should have seen it coming.
Steve Covino

Rich Davis
Hey, Will, do you ever get overwhelmed.
Monsi Belano
By how much science happens these days?
Rich Davis
Constantly. I'm like, ah, there's so much science I can't keep track of.
Danny G
It all.
Monsi Belano
Then it's a good thing.
Rich Davis
Our podcast, Part Time Genius is counting down the 25 greatest science ideas from.
Steve Covino
The past 25 years.
Rich Davis
That's right, Mango. We're talking animals in a paper called quote, chickens prefer beautiful humans.
Steve Covino
Right.
Rich Davis
This was actually the title of the paper this. They all discovered that much like humans, chickens are attracted to symmetrical faces.
Steve Covino
Got it. We're talking medical miracles.
Rich Davis
He's an endocrinologist who found a way to stimulate insulin producing cells using. Wait for it, the saliva of a Gila monster. There's no way to make that not sound crazy. We even talked to some of the.
Steve Covino
Experts behind these breakthroughs.
Rich Davis
It's a week full of fact packed stories you won't want to miss. So listen to the Part time Genius countdown of the 25 greatest science ideas of the past 25 years, starting Monday, March 3rd on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Whoa.
Steve Covino
What does that mean?
Rich Davis
How has this train wreck from Dr. Phil a decade ago turned into a hip hop star and onlyfans girl that's made millions? Like, it's like proving that all the wrong qualities could get you somewhere. So I don't want to hear anything.
Steve Covino
More about Bhad Bhabi, biggest hypocrite ever. You started off this show talking about how it's great that flight attendants and professionals in the NYPD should have only fans, but this one who leans into it, she's the worst.
Rich Davis
Yes.
Steve Covino
Number two, speaking of airlines, your way to be consistent.
Rich Davis
I know it hasn't been a great year for the airlines. Listen, there's been some incidents, but did you see the Southwest story where there's a woman that was running up and down the aisle naked?
Danny G
I did.
Rich Davis
Imagine you're on the plane and all of a sudden for a while too, they said, yo, monster, she got the jumbos out and she's like bouncing around like. Imagine you're there with your kids, like, yeah, we're going visit grandma down in Florida.
Monsi Belano
Did those count as your two carry ons?
Rich Davis
And with that, it's time to play a game. Let's go.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Monsi Belano
Sports, media and athletes are quoted a lot.
Steve Covino
Stars attract other stars.
Rich Davis
Here comes the hot take.
Monsi Belano
Quotes.
Rich Davis
Andy Weed should step down as head coach. This is not a one game reaction.
Steve Covino
Because they lost in this game.
Rich Davis
You guess?
Monsi Belano
The talking head.
Rich Davis
You can quote me on that.
Monsi Belano
Quote me. All right, here we go. Happy Friday. In this game, you need to tell me which blabbermouth said it.
Rich Davis
I love this game, Danny, because you know why? No matter who you are, man, woman, young, old, we all see social media clips. You're walking past the TV, you'll see something on FS1 or ESPN or listening to a Fox Sports Radio podcast. And sometimes.
Monsi Belano
Who said that Sometimes you're a sports fan. These are in your algorithm for sure.
Steve Covino
No doubt.
Monsi Belano
All right, let's meet the contestants. God's gift to divorced dad Rock.
Steve Covino
Steve COVINO, DISTURBED Celebrating 25 years. This weekend out on Brand the Sickness. I've been down with the sickness for 25 years.
Monsi Belano
To the right of him, the first really successful broadcaster out of Syracuse, Rich Davis.
Rich Davis
Only one, right? Only one out of Syracuse.
Monsi Belano
And in for Dan Byer is a woman who had Yasiel Puig. Ask her for an Alaskan Airlines. Like torture. Monsey Belano.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Danny G
No Cap.
Rich Davis
Imagine if you were Mrs. Puig.
Danny G
Oh, no, no, no.
Monsi Belano
All right, let's go to the studio lines. We're gonna see who's playing for C R. Stainless steel Swiggy. All right, Monsie, I'll use you for this. Would you love to travel to beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada?
Danny G
Always.
Monsi Belano
Burlington, Vermont, Louisville, Kentucky. Claremont, Florida, or Boise, Idaho.
Danny G
Well, obviously, we're going with Las Vegas.
Monsi Belano
Obviously. For you, Thunder down Under. Smoker, that is Daniel. What up, D?
Rich Davis
Yeah, what's up, D?
Steve Covino
Hey, man.
Monsi Belano
Hey, what's going on?
Steve Covino
Damn. Daniel.
Rich Davis
Daniel, what do you do?
Monsi Belano
What do you do for a living.
Rich Davis
There in lv he does holy dance.
Monsi Belano
I am a liquor and wine salesperson. Oh, the hookup. All right, cool. Daniel, Here are the rules for quote me, the first contestant with two correct answers is the champ. If there's a tie, I have two overtime. Fill in the quotes. Ready to go? Your name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move on to the next quote.
Steve Covino
Okay, Are you ready? We're ready.
Monsi Belano
Let's get it on. All right, guys, the first quote. I gotta pull it up. Here. Talk amongst yourselves while I pull this up.
Rich Davis
Oh, so you have any good plans this weekend, kids? Little League pictures are tomorrow.
Danny G
Cute.
Rich Davis
And since I'm a coach, I had to make sure I got my shape up and trimmed my beard a little bit. Is it weird that I care how I look?
Danny G
I was going to say yeah, because.
Rich Davis
This is about you, Monsie. I'm Coach Rich. I'm the number one coach on Fox Sports Radio.
Steve Covino
It makes me think of coaches in our Little League photo. They had cigarettes, like, sticking out in their pocket. Yeah, mustaches Ruining the photo. They didn't care.
Monsi Belano
Nicely done there. Thank you. All right, here comes the first quote, guys. Steph Curry is the best great player we've ever seen. That's a great shooter. Or the greatest shooter. Who's a great player. But is he the greatest player of all time? No, you can't be the greatest player of all time. And we have to hide you on defense. All right, guys, quote me. Was that A, Kelvin Washington, B, Doug Gottlieb, or C, Dan Patrick?
Danny G
Moncy.
Monsi Belano
Moncy.
Danny G
Calvin Washington.
Monsi Belano
No.
Rich Davis
Oh, you were so confident.
Danny G
He literally said that yesterday. Something along those lines.
Steve Covino
Something along those lines. All right, Covino.
Monsi Belano
Code for the steal.
Steve Covino
Doug Gottlieb.
Monsi Belano
Yes, sir. Covino on the board.
Danny G
Nice.
Steve Covino
But is he the greatest player? Let's hear it. Let's hear it.
Monsi Belano
Oh, let's hear how it sounded. Steph Curry's the best great player we've ever seen.
Rich Davis
That's a great shooter. Or the greatest shooter who's a great player. But is he the greatest player of all time? No. No, you can't be the greatest player of all time. And we have to hide you on defense. That was the tell when I was listening to it. As soon as you said no, no, Scott, duck a duck.
Monsi Belano
Good job, Covino. He's on the board as we go to round two. All right, here's the quote. Do I think Max Crosby has any real influence over what the Raiders do? Absolutely not. I think there's a better chance that Max Crosby is traded than the Raiders. Listen to Max Crosby on who should play quarterback in Vegas. Quote me. Was that A, Rob Parker, B, Jason Smith, or C, Ben Maller?
Danny G
Moncy.
Monsi Belano
Moncy.
Danny G
B, Jason Smith.
Monsi Belano
No, Rich. Rich, you're terrible rich for the steal.
Rich Davis
I feel like that's something rich. Bob Parker would say you're both losers.
Monsi Belano
That was Ben Maller and his.
Rich Davis
Do I think Mac Crosby has any.
Steve Covino
Real influence over what the Raiders do? Absolutely not.
Rich Davis
I think there's a better chance Max Crosby traded than the Raiders. Listen to Max Crosby on who should.
Steve Covino
Play quarterback in Vegas.
Monsi Belano
And hours later, the Raiders gave Max Crosby one of the richest contracts in the NFL.
Rich Davis
Did you do that just to bust the chops of your buddy Ben Mallory?
Monsi Belano
Maybe you can hear about it on the fifth hour podcast.
Rich Davis
Perfect.
Monsi Belano
All right, we move to round three. Covino's the only one on the board so far.
Rich Davis
And by the way, Daniel, you just got to say your name and guess.
Steve Covino
It's easy.
Monsi Belano
All right, guys, third quote here. I'm like, man, when Steph is off the floor. This is pre Jimmy Butler. I'm like, this is a boring ass team. This is a bad watch. And I said I'd bring in Jimmy Butler just for energy and juice. He'll get everyone all working. Dub quote me, is that A, Paul Pierce, B, Monica McNutt or C, Colin Cowherd?
Steve Covino
Daniel.
Monsi Belano
Daniel. I'll go Paul Pierce. No.
Rich Davis
Oh, Rich. Rich stars Colin.
Monsi Belano
Yes, sir.
Steve Covino
Rich is on the board.
Monsi Belano
This is how that sounded.
Steve Covino
I'm like, man, when Steph is off the floor, this is pre Jimmy Butler. I'm like, this is a boring ass team.
Rich Davis
This is a bad watch.
Steve Covino
And I said I'd bring in Jimmy.
Rich Davis
Butler just for energy and juice.
Steve Covino
He'll just get everybody all worked up. You know, there's certain key words when you read these. Like, I could hear Colin saying juice. I could hear it. So you got to pay close attention.
Monsi Belano
All right? And I'm glad you at least got in there, Daniel. We go to round four. Both C and R on the board.
Steve Covino
All right.
Monsi Belano
All right, here's the fourth quote, guys. Barkley does television. He'd never be accused of knowing television. That would be Ernie Johnson who handles that responsibility. Maybe Charles Barkley should look at his rundowns from time to time, even though they're an NBA show. As opposed to a show that talks about an abundance of things. Some stories get a higher profile than others because they resonate with the viewing public. Quote me. Who me? Was that A, Stephen A. Smith, B, Kendrick Perkins, or C, Richard Jefferson? Daniel, Daniel, Stephen A. Smith is correct. The fact of the matter, and here's what that sounded like.
Steve Covino
Barkley does television. He'd never be accused of knowing television.
Rich Davis
That would be Ernie Johnson who handles that responsibility. Maybe Charles Barkley should look at his.
Steve Covino
Rundowns from time to time, even though they are in NBA show, as opposed to a show that talks about an abundance of things. Some stories get a higher profile than.
Rich Davis
Others because they resonate with the viewing public.
Steve Covino
I mean, Stephen A's right about that. You got to talk about what's hot. That's just how it is. Truthfully, the thing no one wants to hear about a boring game last night.
Rich Davis
I mean, the simple fact that we're talking about the, you know, Knicks, Lakers last night, two big market teams, exciting game. OKC just isn't happening. Have the. The like out of that. The Juice. The Juice, you know.
Monsi Belano
All right, guys, we go to overtime. Mony, I'm sorry you're not on the board.
Danny G
So you're. I gave up real quick.
Monsi Belano
All right, three Three way tie between Rich Covino and Daniel. And guys, here's overtime. You need to finish the quote. Oh, I like that.
Rich Davis
All right, so whoever's closest.
Monsi Belano
No, no, no. You finish the quote, you get multiple choice here.
Rich Davis
Can we. Can we try to.
Monsi Belano
No, you can't finish it. Finish.
Rich Davis
Finish this like Matt Lips.
Monsi Belano
Finish this quote from DeMar DeRozan. Okay, the refs were terrible. Terrible as bleep A. It's as simple as that.
Rich Davis
Oh, terrible is when they forget to put the hot sauce in your Taco Bell bag.
Steve Covino
You got to let him read the answer.
Monsi Belano
Yeah, you got to let me read the.
Steve Covino
Disqualified.
Monsi Belano
Yeah. The three possible finishes.
Steve Covino
Yeah. Rich is disqualified.
Monsi Belano
All right, here we go. The refs were terrible. Terrible as bleak. A, it's as simple as blue. That B, I don't even want to play tomorrow. Or C, but you didn't hear that from me. Daniel. Daniel for the win, C. C. Novino Covino for the steal and the win B. No, you're both losers. All right, we go to the final. We go to the final. Overtime quote. All right, finish this quote about Brunson from Karl Anthony Towns. It's next man up. He's a huge part of our team. We've been playing with grit and A, deserve a break against the Clippers. B, all need to score 10 extra points or C, have to go out there and do it again.
Rich Davis
Daniel.
Monsi Belano
Daniel for the win. What's that? C. C. Yes.
Rich Davis
Yes.
Steve Covino
We are mailing. Nice.
Monsi Belano
Yes, sir.
Steve Covino
Earned. He earned it.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Monsi Belano
Daniel, in Las Vegas, on your liquor runs, you will be holding a shiny new CNR stainless steel Swiggy.
Steve Covino
Nice. Congrats, buddy.
Rich Davis
With that big win, he no longer has to do his only dance pitch.
Steve Covino
I know. Hey, Danny G. If other people listening want to qualify for Swiggy, you still giving them away? If they leave a nice comment.
Monsi Belano
For sure. Yeah. We're gonna get back to reading some of those five star reviews. Go to Apple Podcast and type in Covino and Rich. I'm sure you already subscribe. If you do, don't. If you do, if you don't, do. Yeah, wait, stop. Reverse that and yeah, write a nice review and leave your email address. And I randomly email people and put them on our mailing list.
Steve Covino
We're not above.
Rich Davis
Bribery is really what it comes.
Monsi Belano
Oh, it's straight bribery.
Rich Davis
Leave a nice review, we might send you something. Monte Belan.
Danny G
Yes.
Steve Covino
You were terrible at that.
Danny G
I really was. So here's what's so funny. I swear, Calvin Washington said something really similar to that and I Was here last night, the last two nights working that. And I swear, Jason Smith said something really similar.
Steve Covino
That's why we need cameras. I need cameras on everybody. Because she was so proud and certain that it was she had her hands on. I think she twerked a little bit too.
Danny G
I sure did.
Rich Davis
The best one was Raman. She's like, it was Dr. Phil. I'm like, he wasn't even an answer.
Danny G
Like, I was so confident. And then I quickly just retreated.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Danny G
Quickly made me sit down and rethink my thoughts.
Rich Davis
Sorry. Let's do it. Weekend hungry? Living for the weekend.
Steve Covino
You're winning bets for talking points if you get stuck socializing.
Rich Davis
You ever done anything dangerous? You ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Monsi Belano
That is dangerous.
Rich Davis
Friday brings up us weekend hobnobby.
Steve Covino
All right, I'm gonna start it off with, well, you know, big sexy chocolate cheeks Ryan. That works here.
Monsi Belano
Who?
Steve Covino
Big sexy.
Rich Davis
Oh, yeah, of course.
Steve Covino
He was talking about Daredevil and how great it was. I'm like, yeah, yeah. But then he came in the next day. He's like, yo, dude, it's really good. You gotta check it out. So maybe I will. Daredevil. Born again on Disney plus now for the Dandy McBride fans and Adam Devine. I really do like both of them. Righteous Gemstone season four on Max. Oh, there's something called Plankton the Movie. If you're a spongebob guy that's on Netflix. Is that new or what? Because I'll check it out. Plankton the Movie. And for you fight fans, you got Pereira, Uncleyev and Justin Gaethje fighting UFC 313 is this weekend. So enjoy your fighting. And of course, Rich over promised episode 83. As we mentioned before, our brand new bonus pod is available.
Rich Davis
All right. Are you watching the Love is Blind Weddings like Monsieur and I are. Yeah, Love is Blind Weddings. That's today. You can check that out now if you love all the clips, you see this guy on social media, if he's in your algorithm. A new special with comedian Andrew Schulz on Netflix called Life. You're not a fan. You are a fan.
Steve Covino
I'm a fan of his comedy. His haircut bothers me.
Rich Davis
He's not. Not enough faded. He doesn't. It's like.
Steve Covino
I mean, I know that's he's going for that fade.
Rich Davis
Not strong enough for Camino's liking, but Andrew Scholl is very funny. So life's great. Life is on Netflix. Same with the weddings on Love is Blind.
Steve Covino
Now I've.
Rich Davis
I'VE talked about this show for a while. It's done. Season one, if you need something to binge and you know NBA or fights aren't really tickling your fancy, I promise you paradise on Hulu. All eight episodes are done. Now catch up, get ready for season two. Sterling show.
Steve Covino
But that last episode, man, I don't know what episode eight was. Are you serious right now? The show, though, is good. But the last episode, I was like.
Rich Davis
Can I save everyone time? Because part of this is telling you what not to watch. Zero Day with Robert De Niro is terrible. I watched all six, waiting for like, when is it gonna get good? And the answer is, guys, never.
Steve Covino
Rich did the research for you.
Rich Davis
I did the homework assignment. You don't have to watch it. I promise you it's terrible. And if you want to watch something with the kids, Despicable Me 4 is now streaming on Netflix and a show on Disney. I mentioned this before. Let me mention it again. Win or lose from the creators of Inside Out. It teaches kids a little bit about sports, teaches them a little bit about life. It takes each character, Covino. And each episode of the series is about a different character. And it all sort of comes together. The umpire, the kid playing Little League, all this stuff. And it's a lot of fun. Win or lose on Disney plus Danny G. Anything on your radar this week?
Monsi Belano
Thumbs up on that. Winner, lose. That's a good little series there. Yeah. Besides 1923 and love is blind. Some NBA action to pay attention to tomorrow. Lakers at the Celtics. That's tomorrow night.
Rich Davis
Big one.
Monsi Belano
And then Sunday daytime game morning 10am for us on the west side. Nuggets at OKC.
Rich Davis
That's. That's a Western Conference battle.
Monsi Belano
It's going to be a good one.
Steve Covino
Yeah, I feel like you think the Lakers can take okc, man.
Monsi Belano
I do. Yeah. If they stay hot with their shooting and their defense is on point the way it has been in this little win streak here. Yeah.
Rich Davis
No disrespect to other teams, but the Western Conference doesn't feel like it should be okc, Denver, Golden State and the Lakers don't feel like that's what it should be. And by the way, if you want some ridiculous action, that's far fetched but awesome. Reacher season three is out.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
On Amazon Prime.
Steve Covino
It's pretty good.
Rich Davis
If you like reacher, if you like big hunky dudes that beat everyone up, your lady might like it too.
Steve Covino
So enjoy your reacher. Enjoy your NBA. And again, UFC 313, catch us on over. Promised on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
Rich Davis
And have a good one.
Steve Covino
Ariba Darci, baby, see you in the promised land. Goodbye, guys.
Danny G
This is Nikki Glaser from the Nikki Glaser podcast. On a more serious note, I'm still.
Rich Davis
Thinking about that commercial with Tom Brady and Snoop Dogg hating on each other.
Danny G
Because when you listen to the reasons for hating someone or something, you realize just how stupid they really are. There is too much hate in this country and it's gotta stop. So join us at iHeart in standing up to it.
Rich Davis
If you see hate, speak up, call.
Danny G
It out and you can learn more by following. Hat'saupwithhate.
Rich Davis
Make some noise for the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry. We went live from All Star Weekend for a new podcast called Goat Greatest of Their Era and we ranked our top five shooters from the 2000s.
Steve Covino
Peja 5, Dirk 4. Paja is elite.
Rich Davis
You won't believe who Steph left off his list.
Steve Covino
That's so tough. That's why we to have these conversations.
Rich Davis
Yes, absolutely.
Steve Covino
Love it.

Steve Covino

Rich Davis
I've always been inspired by frustration.
Steve Covino
It came back to my own personal pain point. So we had to go out to.
Danny G
Farmers and convince them.
Rich Davis
Following that, curiosity is a superpower.
Steve Covino
You have to be obsessed with the human condition. Listen to Building One on the iHeartRadio.
