All right, so you guys know that now the boy is all into soccer. Part of it is because of the video game, but then I started watching the games and honestly, it really is a beautiful game. And next summer, we are hosting the biggest soccer tournament of all time all across the United States. I mean, it's going to happen in 11 cities. There are so many teams, 48 teams in this year's tournament. And our betting sponsor at Hard Rock Bet already has ways for you to take part on the tournament. Go to the Hard Rock Bet app. You can select who you think will win this tournament. Guys, there is going to be so many people watching this. Six billion people will watch the tournament this summer. When you're watching all these great teams, obviously our United States team for a long time has not been the best. But we have guys now on this team who are playing in Europe, who are playing in the top flight leagues. And our national team has a lot of expectation going into the tournament this summer. We expect to do well being the host country. Obviously we qualified automatically, but I feel with the team that we have now, we would have qualified anyways. It's that good. Obviously, Argentina's tough. England's tough. Spain's tough, Germany's tough. Those are like the favorites. But we as a national team finally feel like we can at least compete with the best teams in the world. I remember when we made the quarterfinals, I went to San Jose park and was a part of one of those watch parties because that even drew me in. I mean, we have not had the most success in these tournaments, but in that moment, it filled me with national pride that made me want to tap in. And I didn't even know anything or have any interest in soccer at that time. Now that I'm interested, I'm all the way locked in the first game. We play Paraguay at SoFi. I'm in there. I'm already in there. They got games happening in Santa Clara, which is only about 45 minutes away from my house. So I'm tapped in. I'm locked in And I'm also going to be tapped in with our friends at Hard Rock Bet. So go to the Hard RockBet app and you get in on all of the games and the fun props. Get in on all that action that you have in regards to what is honestly the world coming together, because the world comes together for that tournament. It's the only tournament that truly is worldwide and it's happening in the United States, Canada and Mexico, North America, it don't get no better. And I feel like we as a country, the United States team, have a pretty good team and I feel we have pretty good draw to get us into the knockout stages where anything can happen. Hey, you just got to be better on one night. We don't have to be able to beat England and Spain and Argentina every night. We just got to be able to beat them one time. And miracles happen in tournaments in the United States and North America is hosting one of the biggest ones of all time. And I cannot wait. So go to Hard Rock bet, Apple, go and do everything. Look, I got the Anderson or beautiful little.
Danny Shapiro
The.
Brad Palumbo
The. The. The material is crazy. I'm feeling good out here today, but it's 40 degrees in the bay Area. But let me tell you something. It gets hot when you start talking Jake Paul, because like him or Not Jake Paul. Got a little something with him. Now, Jake Paul just got his head bashed in by Anthony Joshua, right? That, that was, that was about as big a learning lesson that anyone could have been taught. Here's the problem. Jake Paul is proven to be, he's proven to be one hard headed two more bold and brave than anyone could have ever imagined. Now, bold and brave because he fought Anthony Joshua to begin with. Bold and brave because they didn't put any things in place to make sure Anthony didn't do exactly what he did to him. Broke his jaw in multiple places, got him sucking on a straw. It would seem like his bold and brave attitude really cost him. And with that bold and brave attitude, a lot of times come cowardice after. Not Jake Paul. Not Jake Paul. You can love him, you can hate him, but he's brave. And now he's still trying to fight you. I would have thought, I swear to God, guys, I would have thought that after what happened with Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul would say, okay, let me rematch Anderson as somebody. Anderson, by the way, that if he had hit Jake Paul the way he hit Tyron Woodley the other day would have knocked him out because that's the Andrew Silver we know. But you would have thought that Jake Paul would go, you know what, I'm gonna go rematch Anderson. Maybe I will find another mixed martial arts guy that's a little bit over the hill to try to fight where it's more safe and it's a more controlled environment. Because the problem with the Anthony Joshua fight is it wasn't controlled, it was just a fight. So that's not Jake Paul, though. He immediately goes back after Francis Ngannou. It's crazy to me. Now I've asked people in Francis circle why didn't they take the fight. Nobody really knows why. But I believe that after Anthony Joshua took the fight, Francis may be more open to fighting Jake Paul. Now, I think when I, when I try to put myself in Francis's shoes, because if you recall, in the very beginning, Jake Paul was calling me and saying, talking about me. Part of the reason I was so upset was because I didn't feel like he deserved to be speaking my name because of all I had done. And I still viewed him in a certain light at the time, right? Like celebrity boxing and stuff. But after watching what he's done now and Anthony Joshua taking the fight and making the money, maybe Francis, if he was sharing the thought that I had, is more open to now going, man, maybe I won't make $80 million like Anthony Joshua. But I may make 2030, and it's less dangerous than fighting Tyson Fury or fighting Anthony Joshua, because for as small as Jake looked against Anthony, he'll look equally as small against Francis Ngannou. But I think what's happening with Jake is he's wanting to show that Anthony did not scared into him, which in reality he probably should have knocked a little scared into him. He's also doing like MMA or boxing math, right? He said, I told everyone that I would do better than Francis, and Francis has no chin. Francis is low key, soft. I'll fight Francis. Wow, that's a good idea, actually. So now he's like all in on Francis, but he's doing it by doing MMA math. There were a lot of differences in that fight, right? A lot of differences in the fights between them. 2. One, Francis didn't run the whole time. Jake did. Francis wasn't on his bike. Because Francis is 6 4, 65 and believes that there isn't a man alive that could take him out. That's why he got taken out. Especially after fighting Tyson Fury in the way that he did and dropping Tyson Fury the way that he did in their fight, it gave him a false sense of confidence. I think Jake Paul knew that he needed to go longer than Francis, but also knew he didn't have the ability to put Anthony Joshua out. I do believe that if Francis hit Anthony as clean as Jake did a couple times, he could have potentially put him down. But not only do I believe that Francis did and that made him stand in the fight more than he should have, especially in hindsight when we know what happened and his inexperience showed. But for Jake to say Francis has no chin when. When Joshua hit him with the first real right hand, he put him down. He put him down just like he put Francis down. There is no difference. So I think this confidence is once again misguided. You don't, you don't. You don't call out a Francis Ngannou unless you're certain you can go with him.

Hi, I'm Radhi Devlukia and I am the host of a really Good Cry podcast. This week I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the Crappy Childhood Fairy, a creator, teacher and guide helping people heal from the lasting emotional wounds of unseen, unsafe or chaotic childhoods. We talk about how the things we went through when we were younger can still show up in our adult lives, in our relationships, our reactions, even in the way we feel in our own bodies. And Anna opens up about her own story, what helped her notice the patterns she was stuck in and how she slowly started teaching her body that it is safe now.
Anna Runkle
So when I got attacked, it was very random. Four guys jumped out of a car and just started beating me and my friend and they broke my jaw and my teeth. I was unconscious. Then I woke up and I screamed. And I screamed because even though I didn't know who I was or where I was, something in me was just like, hold on, wait, they could kill me. And I'm not going to let that happen. I'm not going to let that happen. I'm going to get through this.
Radhi Devlukia
And I did listen to a really good cry on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

1 I don't think he can hurt him. I just don't know that he can hurt Francis like he thinks he can hurt Francis. Many people thought Anthony Joshua had no chin because of what Andy Ruiz did to him. Turns out he's got a decent chin. He's got a pretty good chin. And Andy Ruiz just hits hard. He's a real boxing heavyweight. Jake landed like three massive overhand rights. Anthony Joshua just looked at him and kind of kept pressing him. It's the same thing that would happen with Francis. Ganu keeps calling Francis out. And in reality, if people thought there was a world where Anthony could carry him into the later rounds to make it look more competitive, Francis isn't experienced enough to do that. So every throw, every punch will be thrown with the intent to Knock you out. It's like Deontay Wilder. It's why I didn't want Francis to fight Deontay Wilder because Deontay Walter does not have that control to carry you. People say Connor may have carried floor. Sorry, Floyd may have carried Conor Floyd has that ability. He's that good a boxer. He's clean, he's technical, he can fight you in multiple ways. But when you get to these certain guys, they can't because all they know is one thing. That's the danger in the Jake Paul Fred Sangannou fight. It's only knockout for Big Frank. He won't pull punches. Tyson Fury may not have taken Francis as serious as he should have and that's why he got hit in the way that he got hit and dropped in the way that he got dropped. Francis don't know Jake. Francis doesn't know how to control and make sure the punches don't put your lights out. But this whole idea that I lasted longer than Francis and Ganu, it was. Francis could have ran right. Francis could have moved around the ring very well, by the way, which was a massive ring. The ring was as big as any ring I've ever seen in my life. He could have ran around the ring too. What Jake said was Louise. What Jake said it was, I did better than Francis because I got knocked out in the sixth round.
Danny Shapiro
Louise.
Brad Palumbo
As opposed to. This is the great. I got one more. I got one more for you. Francis is a 1500 favorite against Jake Paul early on and Jake is a plus 600. Of course he is because he's Francis Ngannou. He's Francis Ngannou. This is the craziest. Thought I did better. The I did better argument, guys, does not work. It just doesn't. It was a massive ring and he was on his bicycle. And listen, if you could do that for 12 rounds, sure. But eventually get tired because there's nothing worse than running backwards. There's nothing worse than getting backed up with someone putting pressure on you. It's the worst. But minus 1500 for Francis, plus 600 for Jake seems about right now. Could never question the boldness of Jake Paul. You could never question the toughness of Jake Paul. I question the smarts because the money will always come because now he's done that to a point that people will always respect what he is doing. But that long lasting damage that doesn't fade away with time. And I don't know that Jake Paul needs that. He's a big enough star to where I don't think he needs to keep going in there with real heavyweights getting knocked out by these guys because Anthony Joshua was big and when he looked at him, he looked at his chest. That is exactly what he would look at if he fought Francis Ngannou. Guys, I. I think he needs to reconsider. And this is from a person that at one point had an issue with Jake Paul. Today, that's water under the bridge. I actually got more respect for Jake Paul than I ever thought I could because of what he's doing. But in those comments, let me know what y' all think. Should Jake Paul fight Francis and if he does, what's the expectation or what's the expected outcome when you guys think of it? Because, hey, Jarzinho, Alistair, Overeem, Steepe, Miocic, all the greatest mixed martial arts heavyweights Francis knocked out. Telling me that Tyson Fury, he put down you, telling me that this kid's gonna be able to fight Francis Ngano because he did better against Anthony Joshua. MMA math does not work, and I don't think it works in boxing either. So my work in football, basketball, all those other things where you don't have to punch each other, but I don't think it works in combat sports. Let me know in the comments what you think. Happy New Year, guys. I appreciate you. I will see you in 2026.

Release Date: January 2, 2026
Host: Daniel Cormier (DC)
This episode features Daniel Cormier analyzing the aftermath of Jake Paul's brutal knockout loss to Anthony Joshua and discusses the rising speculation (and controversy) around the idea of Jake Paul facing MMA powerhouse Francis Ngannou in a boxing match. Cormier critiques Jake Paul's ambitions, boldly predicts what would happen if Paul fought Ngannou, and examines why simple “MMA math” doesn’t apply in boxing or combat sports in general. The tone is opinionated, direct, and plenty respectful for both combatants, while pulling no punches.
“Jake Paul just got his head bashed in by Anthony Joshua, right? That was about as big a learning lesson that anyone could have been taught.” (07:47)
“You can love him, you can hate him, but he’s brave. And now he’s still trying to fight.” (08:30)
“He’s doing it by doing MMA or boxing math... There were a lot of differences in that fight, right?”
“I don’t think he can hurt him. I just don’t know that he can hurt Francis like he thinks he can hurt Francis.”
On Jake Paul’s mindset:
“You could never question the boldness of Jake Paul. You could never question the toughness of Jake Paul. I question the smarts…” (20:48)
On comparing Ngannou and Joshua:
“You telling me that Tyson Fury, he put down, you telling me this kid’s gonna be able to fight Francis Ngannou because he did better against Anthony Joshua? MMA math does not work, and I don’t think it works in boxing either.” (21:40)
On the reality of the would-be fight:
“It’s only knockout for Big Frank. He won’t pull punches.” (18:30)
Daniel Cormier’s style in this episode is frank, passionate, and laced with both admiration and skepticism. He displays respect for Jake Paul’s showmanship and audacity but emphasizes the brutal realities of heavyweight boxing against a monster like Francis Ngannou.
Suitable for fans of sports analysis and boxing alike, this episode is a must-listen for anyone curious about the realities of crossover spectacle fights and the risks daring fighters like Jake Paul are willing to take.
