You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Here we go. Friday show. Our number two. Okay, we're not gonna go 50 this week, so let's not get crazy, all right? Let's just understand we're just trying to avoid an O for five J. Mac, I get very excited. You know, I love this five or six minutes on the show.
J. Mac
But you like a hot win streak too, obviously.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. So I would say the game, I think Dallas has a chance to keep it close. I do worry about their offensive line in pass protection is not good. It's near the bottom of the league. Jalen Phillips looked so good for the Eagles in his first game and Jalen Carter didn't play in the opener. He spit on back.
J. Mac
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
So. And you, you kind of, you kind of talked me off this one. I give you credit, you talked me out of it. I do think the side, if you're going to bet it is Dallas plus three and a half. The other thing I thought about in this game, why I didn't take it. Dallas looked great on Monday night, so they are massively overvalued anytime the Cowboys are a popular team. Green Bay Cowboys Eagles play in a standalone game Monday night. Beat up on a bad team, everybody goes crazy. A lot of Cowboy love this week. So I decided cooler heads prevail not to bet it, but here's my blazing five. That's a hot one. Let's blaze it up.
Eliakhani
Fire it up.
Colin Cowherd
It's Collins blazing fire. Vikings and Packers. I'm going to take Green Bay as a home favorite to win in cover minus six and a half. This is about Jeff Halfley, Green Bay's defensive coordinator. He has built a very sound defense. Second fewest big play surrendered in the league over at least one takeaway. At least one in five straight games. So this is about Green Bay at home where everybody's defense is better at home against JJ McCarthy who I don't think in the face of this defense can play clean football. He's got multiple picks and three or four starts. His completion percentage is under 53% this year. He is a quarterback that needs to play with confidence and a lead. I don't think he will. I'm going to go with Jeff Halfley's defense to create some offense. Packers win and cover. It's a lot. It's a division game. 2820 Steelers at Bears. The up and down Steelers are going to lose. I'm going to take the Bears to win and cover minus two and a half. Listen, they've won seven of their last eight games. Number two rushing offense. They don't need big plays. Caleb does not throw a lot of picks and at home he's a better quarterback. At home he's only taken one sack in the last three games and his passer ratings mid-90s. He has been like a lot of young quarterbacks. He's been better at home. The Steelers, Aaron Rodgers is banged up. They can't run the football and right now they've allowed 25 plus points in three of their four road games. So defenses, Cleveland's an example, Pittsburgh an example tend to be better at home. I'm going to take the Bears to win and the bears to cover. 27:21 Colts at Chiefs I like the over 50 and a half. It's the two most efficient offenses in the NFL and the Colts are off a buy. So you know Shane Sten is going to have some tricks. No two teams have punted less in the NFL than the Colts and the Chiefs and the Colts and their opponents are averaging 453 a game. So I'm just going to take the over here and their defense in back to back games is a little banged up is giving up over 25 a game. The Chiefs average 29 at home. Momes has played much better at home and Kansas City is desperate. Don't be shocked if the Chiefs don't have their performance of the year off that Denver loss. I'm taking the over. I think it's a close game. Kansas City wins 28:24 take the over 50.5 points. Seahawks and Titans. I never take huge favorites. I'm breaking my rule. Seattle -13, and a half at Tennessee Tennessee's 05 at home. Six of their losses are by over 10. Seattle outgained the Rams by 165 points, outplayed them the final three quarters, almost won with four picks. They're a great road team 11 and 2 because defense and running games travel. Seattle does both well. Sam Darnold despite the picks PFF has him ranked number two. Tennessee's atrocious worst point differential in the league. They do nothing right. I think the locker room may be lost at this point. I hate taking huge favorites. Seattle wins and covers 31 to 13. Panthers at 49ers okay, I'm going to take Carolina plus seven. They've won three straight on the road. Bryce Young is 64 if you're not watching and actually he's had back to back games completing 68% of his throws. And the Niners defense is a mess. It's all beat up. Robert Sala's doing it with smoke and mirrors. They are just depleted. And I'll tell you this, the Niners are a weird team. Go look the last year, year and a half how they played after wins. Some of their worst games have been after they win and you think they're going to get momentum. The defense has the fewest sacks in the NFL this year. So Bryce Young, who's been on good on the road playing with momentum is going to have time to throw. I think it's close. I think San Francisco probably at home finds a way to win. Also the Niners, despite having Christian McCaffrey are not running the ball particularly well. Eight of their 11 games under 100 yards rushing. I'm going to take seven points. I think Carolina is one of those teams that people aren't giving the credit to them because they've been so bad and so dysfunctional. Carolina can go toe to toe. Carolina won at Lambeau. Carolina plus 7 number does not make a lot of sense to me. I'm going to take the points. I think it's a game that goes to the very end. I'll take the home team. There you go. J. Mac, Anything you like or dislike? Vehemently.
J. Mac
Like the Seahawks, sort of like the Bears, sort of like the Packers. I don't know about the Panthers, Colin. There is some. There's some juice behind this Niners offense right now. I don't think the Panthers can hold him down. Yeah, I would lean Niners in that one, but overall, hey, you're hot. What can I say? I mean, we did both go five zero last week. Yeah, I don't hate your picks. I'm surprised you didn't weigh in on the Shedeur Bowl Shador against the Raiders.
Colin Cowherd
Well, let's go to Julian Edelman. Three Super bowl rings, an MVP, 12 years. Let's. Let's talk Shador. I don't expect much. I don't buy into the conspiracy theories. He's a delightful kid. I think Max Crosby's gonna be chasing him around. I don't like the negative plays by him. I do think he throws a good ball. What are your expectations for Shadow or Sanders? I mean, are they high, low, middle? Where are you at?
Julian Edelman
I think they're probably middle. I. I think the expectation is he'll be better than last week. He's playing a team that's pretty bad but that has a good defense. In the Raiders, Max Cross would be. Max Crosby can ruin a guy's day. So anytime a young quarterback has an elite pass rusher that he knows he's going against, I'm sure he's going to be thinking about that speeding up his quarterback clock process. But I do expect him to be better than last week because he's going to have some reps this week with the ones he's going to be the focal point in practice, which usually backups aren't. So I expect him to be mid better than last week, but not terrible because he does know how to play ball. Six, seven, maybe.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, you. One of the reasons I think the Chiefs are dangerous is because we always want to count out the old athlete, you know, the old Gronk. And then he goes and has a great. Like old Travis Kelsey. Oh, what do you know? He has nine catches. I think Kansas City, when you don't want to play the Chiefs is when if they lose, they're out of the playoffs. And I want you to go to your career and maybe a year for New England when people were counting you out, you were facing a Very good or hot team. I just think champions are really dangerous when nobody's buying them. When everybody, they hear the media, they listen. In your career, I think Kansas City plays great this weekend. Go to your career. Do you remember a moment like that?
Julian Edelman
Yeah, I think we were in 18 late in the. In the year. We were struggling on offense, trying to figure out what we were. We were doing a lot of that. 13 personnel, 12 personnel, a lot of tight ends. We were struggling to get guys open on the outside, very similar to what the Chiefs are going through. And then, you know, we were playing against Buffalo when they were young and they were spry and they had a lot going for them late in the year. We ended up winning that game, and that kind of gave us our confidence boost. And we lost a game in December that year, I believe, to the Steelers, which, you know, that's kind of the time where you don't want to start losing games is one of the first times we've lost in December where we go on a long run. So I think the confidence booster was when we played that young Buffalo team that was playing very well, everyone thought we didn't have the firepower to do it. We found a way to get a win, and it took that right there to let everyone know, hey, we're still around. We still played in a lot of ball games. We've played in more, more important football games than most of these teams have even played, and we've forgotten that many games. And that could be said about the Chiefs, like, these guys didn't forget how to play football. Yeah, they're in a little funk right now, but they still have a lot of good football players, and I expect them to turn it on in the back half of the season because they know ultimately it's the most important time to be playing your best football. It starts after Thanksgiving. That's what we all used to say in our building. The real football season starts after Thanksgiving. You have to put yourself in position to be able to compete after that time. But the real football starts now, and they're a real football team still. I don't care what anyone says.
Colin Cowherd
You know, you guys in New England, you and Gronk were the offense in a solid run game, and I could argue that's what Buffalo is. The difference is your defenses were great, and Buffalo's has gone into the tank. I do think they could use another deep threat. But in fairness, December, January, deep threats often disappear in Buffalo or New England because of the weather. So when I watched Buffalo last night, my Biggest issue is Josh is forcing stuff. So the turnovers are spiking. They never did with Tom. And the defense just, I mean even Houston ran on them. Houston has no run game. I thought Houston looked like they were deeper and more physical and had more good players. Do you think a lack of a deep threat is the issue when you watch Buffalo? They've now lost a Penck Tua and Davis Mills. What is the problem you see with Buffalo? Because it's not quarterback.
Julian Edelman
It's not quarterback and I think it's a multiple of things. I think it has to do with the lack of winning outside the numbers. The deep threat. That ex receiver they really relied on the Coleman kid who, who's really disappointed them. I mean, you know they spent a second round draft pick on him last year or was he a first, A second. Regardless a high round draft pick that they needed him to play well for their team to work. And I also think it's got to do with their defense. I mean this is, that's not sustainable defense when you can't stop the run if you force the Bills to play the way they don't want to play from ahead. Making other offenses one, one dimensional where they have to throw the ball, they're decent against the pass, that's what their defense is designed to do. But they can't get there right now. So I think this is going to be tough because like you said whenever we were struggling on offense or some of these teams that have had the older or the quarterback only team or whatever the Ben Roethlisberg, you could always rely on our defense or our special teams to make play. They got a big team, they got a big play from their teams last night but their defense is just not there. So I think it's a multiple things. I think it's the lack of deep threat which you know, it's very disappointing that this Coleman kid is doing what he's doing. Like I can't, I can't emphasize that much enough when a team is relying on you and, and you go and especially a team like the Buffalo Bills and what if for whatever reason he's got attitude problems like that's a cancer that, that they, they are relying on him and then the defense. So I think it, they're a complimentary football team when they got one thing not going because of how they spend their money as a team. It's not going to work. So I think it's a couple things.
Colin Cowherd
So Caleb Williams, Drake May and Bo Nicks are winning a lot of games they also have Ben Johnson, Mike Vrabel, Sean Payton. They have really good coaches. That said, you have good sources in New England. Aren't they even surprised how good Drake May is? They still don't have a number one receiver. They don't have a dominant tight end. It's a good old line. It's not a great O line. Do you think they're surprised by how efficient he is?
Julian Edelman
I've talked to a lot of people in there and I wouldn't say they're surprised. I, I would just say that they were excited from, from day one. You know, talking to one of my main guys there, he kept saying like, you know, this kid retains information. He doesn't make the same mistakes, he processes. And that's what I heard a lot. And I didn't see it last year at all, but I've been seeing it this year throughout the whole season. One thing he needs to do is he needs to stop taking hits and, and, and that's going to come with more time on task in this offense because you see him in his empty personnel, like his empty situations. Whenever he's an empty, he looks at his first three and then he ends up taking off and going. And he, that tells me he doesn't know the nuances of the offense, which means he has a lot more room to grow, which is going to be scary once he gets that empty package going because they're really good with the play action. They got a run game going and he's got those athletic plays. But the one constant thing I heard from everyone, great attitude, loves to learn, natural leader and can process. So I never heard surprised, but I heard excited a lot.
Colin Cowherd
I don't think you can, you can't fool pro athletes. And I mean, you listen. New England had high draft picks and a lot of them on offense could not play. Everybody, every GM misses on draft picks. It's hard. And I watch J.J. mcCarthy and I think to myself, everybody in the room knows it's a problem, but he's all, J.J. mcCarthy's a kid that loses his confidence on the field pretty quickly, so the last thing you want to do is press him. What do you do? I mean, what, what do you think it's like to be J.J. mcCarthy now? I mean, you had a nice slow growth because you were not a first round player. When you're a first round pick and they give up picks, is there not more pressure to perform immediately?
Julian Edelman
There's a lot of pressure for everyone in the locker room and they all have their own different forms of pressure. Guys that are trying to create a role, guys that are trying to be a superstar, guys that are trying to be a Hall of Famer, guys that are trying to make the team. So pressure is for everyone. With jj, they got to just deal with this. This is what they picked. You had Sam Darnold in the building last year for probably a competitive number where they could have kept him around for a year and let this kid develop. But they didn't decide to do that. They decided to go with J.J. mcCarthy. So these are the growing pains you have to go through with the young quarterback who only has six starts in his NFL career. You know, it's just he's on a team that's probably a quarterback away from being a really good playoff team. So that's the only difference. Usually you see these first round draft picks they come in, or these very top overall picks, and going into an ecosystem that has a losing environment, a losing team, and that hasn't been the case for jj. He went to a team that's pretty much ready to go. Let's go right now. So I. I think they just got to deal with this. And they gotta. They gotta be able. Because the only people that really know are the people in that building. Because there's little things and nuances that Kevin OConnell's teaching JJ McCarthy that none of us outside of that building know. And if he's seen progression weekly, then that's what he's going to have to deal with. And he's seeing the growth. That doesn't mean we don't. We can see it because there could be things that we don't know what they're coaching on in there. So they have to. They have to deal with this. This is the hand they chose. And look, he's in the sixth game of his career. This is not a easy thing to pick up, especially in the hardest position in pro sport. So he's got to learn, and he's got to learn fast, because the games are only going to get harder as the season goes.
Colin Cowherd
One more question, and I've asked you this before. This is about the time your Patriot teams took off. Explain to people, late November football, December football. How did Belichick address it? Because you dominated the league for 20 years, did the discussions change? Did the preparation change? Did the game plans change? As it gets cold and windy? By the way, rosters now are depleted due to injuries. Everybody's missing top guys. How does football change this weekend and on.
Julian Edelman
Well, this weekend, there's a light at the End of the tunnel or going forward after Thanksgiving, There's a light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone knows about the seatings, Everyone knows who's in it. Everyone knows who's not in it. So the urgency level in the building goes through the roof. The beginning part of the season is about learning what this team is. The middle part of this season is about executing and trying to get this, this team ready for the last part of the season, which is the real part of the season, where you put yourself in contention to play your best football. We always talked about playing your best football at the end of the season, and a lot of it had to do with health, like you, you mentioned. And also, you know, the teams knowing what they are, their identity, and then this is the time where, hey, we know what we're good at, we know what we're bad at, we know where we're vulnerable. How do we make our team go out, make the least amount of mistakes, have the best week of practice with the highest urgency, and let these guys know that this doesn't come around a lot. So you have to play your best football. That's what it was. It was just urgency, preparation. You took a little more time to take care of your body. Like you said, a lot of guys are banged up, but you know, this is the best time of the year because there's a light at the end of the tunnel. It ain't a train. Those are the, that's the playoffs. They're coming. And this is when you start to get that second jolt. You know, those. The middle of the season, you're banged up. First part of the season, you're, you're, you're excited because football started. And then, you know, you get beat up and you're trying to get the ankle right or the oblique right or your shoulder right. And then new Thanksgiving hits and you get like a shot. You get a shot of adrenaline because you know this is important football time. So if you like football and you like to compete, you're in the right business because this time of the year is what that is about.
Colin Cowherd

I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer. You know, hey, there's a big deer out here. He's doing this. Be looking for this deer. But I also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying, running my cameras. I love patterning the deer. I like showing up at the right time, checking the wind, knowing what stand I need to be in. And then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like, I then can hang my hat. But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're gonna win. And then when I go in, it's like, yeah, it's cool. I won the tournament. The ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, I. But when you find them and you make them bite, that's the puzzle. I love it.

Just to show you that Josh Allen does not trust his wide receiving group. He's second in the NFL in holding the ball. Now, that's usually a stat for young quarterbacks, like a Caleb Williams as you're learning defenses, or you got a new coaching staff, so you got Ben Johnson, new offensive line. You're very new in the league. You know, young guys, you know, young quarterbacks often hold the ball a little long as they learn, the light comes on and, you know, they learn a new system, new staff. Josh Allen holding the ball that long, he didn't want to get hit, especially last night when he knows the defensive line for Houston is working, is working the Bills O line, and he's still holding the ball right now in the NFL, second longest. It is the wide receiver issue. It. It is J. Mac with the news. No, no, no, Turn on the news. This is the Herd line news.
J. Mac
Maybe it's time McDermott put in a call to Brian Daboll, who's unemployed right now, to advise the offense. Colin. All right, let's go to the Baltimore Ravens. They've won four straight to climb back into things in the AFC North. Interesting so we saw Josh Allen was sacked a billion times last night. Well, you know who else is getting sacked a lot? Lamar Jackson. Yeah, right. Last year, he was only sacked 23 times. This year, he's been sacked 23 times in seven games. Lamar was made aware of the stat. Here's his response.
Colin Cowherd
I think he got 23 sacks all of last year.
Julian Edelman
That's how many you have this year in fewer games.
Pharmaceutical Ad Voice
I know.
Julian Edelman
Realistically, I mean, do you feel the cumulative weight of some of the pressure you've been getting this year?
Colin Cowherd
I mean, it's part of football. You know, sometimes guys will get you, sometimes they won't. You know, like I said, I'm talking to my guys about that. They probably gonna like that dude. Yeah, I mean, it's noticeable. I also think the one question we've always had about the Ravens forever is wide receiver. Is Zay Flowers A1? It's. It's, again, some pretty good defense in the AFC, you know, is. Is he holding the ball? Because there's nobody open? I mean, that's the Josh Allen issue. I. Cam Ward holds it forever. I'm okay with that. You're Cam Ward and you're a young guy. But it's interesting. I still, Baltimore just does not look quite as dynamic offensively. Now, again, they've paid some guys on defense, good players. So, you know, it's quarterbacks making some money. Kyle Hamilton, now, I think he's making some money. So it's a reality of it.
J. Mac
You got to reallocate resources around the team. And Lamar, like you said, is getting paid. Offensive lines, not great. But Colin, we're being honest, he doesn't look as elusive as he has in years past. I don't know if it's the ankle injury and what he went through this season or it's just an accumulation of a lot of hits. But if Lamar's not as elusive, you have to go get a wide receiver then, because we know he's a great pocket passer, but the running around was his superpower. All right, let's go to the Green Bay packers, who are currently right there in the NFC North. They're in the mix for a. For a playoff spot for sure, but they only have played one divisional game. That was the season opener, remember, against the lions. So, interestingly, five of their final seven games are against the NFC North. Matt LaFleur talked about what's at stake.
Public Investing Announcer
All that matters is this one game.
Colin Cowherd
And for us right now, I mean, we just got to focus on what's right in front of Us and that's to try to put together the best.
Public Investing Announcer
Plan to go out and play a team that I think is an extremely tough football team.
Colin Cowherd
And they, I mean, shoot, they put.
Spencer Graves
It on us twice last year.
Colin Cowherd
So our guys, our guys will be motivated, they'll be ready to roll.
J. Mac
So this is a problem. I, I didn't anticipate this. So five of their final seven against the division, that's familiarity. Everybody knows each other. Green Bay, by the way, three and seven against the spread. Colin, second worst in the NFL.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah, I, I, I, I'm going to tell you, I believe starting this weekend and again they don't have Tucker Craft the rest of the year so the offense does have a hole in it. I'm going to make a prediction that starting this weekend Green Bay is going to start playing their best football of the year. I believe this has been, it's still, it's still the youngest offense in the league. I think starting against Minnesota they're going to take a jump.
J. Mac
So I said that last week against the Giants they got the win, only got the push, did not get the COVID but they just didn't look awesome. Every week it's something either the defense doesn't play up to what you expect or the offense isn't as crisp. Now I did just hear a report about an hour ago out of Green Bay, Jaden Reed, probably their most dynamic playmaker. Back at practice. It doesn't sound like he's going to go. Remember he was on ir. I forget what the injury was. Maybe a risk.
Colin Cowherd
Now he's practicing.
J. Mac
That's a huge get back because he can line up in the slot outside. You can do some gadget stuff with him and they just need weapons. This is a big game against the Vikings.
Colin Cowherd
Christian Watson played very well last week.
J. Mac
Watson did two tutties. If they lose to the Vikings, Colin, not only do you lose your bet, but that game for the Lions, Lions, packers on Thanksgiving becomes massive for Green Bay and their playoff hopes. Final story, college football, here we go, the big one tomorrow. Oregon, Oregon, Oregon, whatever. The Ducks host your USC Trojans in a big one. Okay. This has a lot of ramifications for the playoff. Obviously the Ducks are heavy favorites. I'll tell you who I bet in a minute. But obviously the coaches are talking and here is Lincoln Riley saying the Ducks are going to be on upset alert.
Julian Edelman
You have to play complete football against them.
Molly Lambert
Right.
Julian Edelman
They've shown the ability to, to run the ball, especially here in the, in.
Colin Cowherd
The back half of the season.
Julian Edelman
You know, they really Ran the football well. They've been explosive, been efficient.
Colin Cowherd
You know, got a good group of.
Julian Edelman
Backs, some impactful tight ends, o lines playing well. So no, definitely be a big challenge for us there.
Colin Cowherd
Here's the thing. When they go on the road, Illinois and Notre Dame are examples. Michigan last year, they don't, they don't defend the run very well. And I said going into the Notre Dame game, I said that is a bad matchup for usc. I, I think we're going to get some scoring here, but I don't know. I think Oregon's going to be able to consistently run the ball here, taking it out of USC's hands. Because the way to beat USC, Illinois showed you the way to beat USC is long drives, run the ball, keep Lincoln in that high powered offense off the field. Because usc, I think despite what the rankings tell you, I think USC will throw the ball in Oregon. Okay. I do. I think Oregon's passing defense has not been tested to this level yet. Remember Indiana went into Otson and kind of controlled them. But I, I tend to think Oregon is going to control the time of possession in this game.
J. Mac
Interesting. So the total is astronomical. 59 and a half. A lot of that has to do with USC's inability to play defense. I need to see an injury report and I know you're against this. College football doesn't really have them, so we don't know who's hurt, who's back. I mean, remember that game, Oregon, Iowa? I told Joel Klatten, it's like, bro, Iowa's going to cover. And he's like, oregon should be fine. The injuries for Oregon have been massive, but they're underplayed because there's no injury report. So we don't really know who's 100% in.
Colin Cowherd
Well, Oregon's wide receiving groupings. This is a big benefit to usc. USC is, is okay at corner, good safeties, not great at lineback. They have a decent pass rush and great safeties. You can beat them down the field on the sideline and Oregon has a potential to do that. But Oregon's been banged up for two or three weeks at wide receiver. So, you know, game time decision, guys, if they go edge Oregon. But, but that's made Oregon's offense a little more sporadic, is they're not quite as consistent, but a lot of it's just injuries to the receivers.
J. Mac
So I had liked USC member earlier this week. I was like, this is gonna be feisty. Well, you know, talk to some gamblers. The, the number one college football gambler I know it's on is on Oregon. So I, I, I took a nine and a half. It's now ten, ten and a half. Unfortunately, it's a tough one for usc, Collins. It's going to be difficult.
Colin Cowherd
I agree. I mean, listen, they struggle with Iowa. They struggle to put Iowa away. They got into a big hole against Iowa. You can't get into a big hole at Otson Stadium.
J. Mac
By the way, weather it looks like 47 and clear. So no, no inclement stuff.
Colin Cowherd

Spencer Graves
I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer. You know, hey, there's a big deer out here. He's doing this. Be looking for this deer. But I also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying, running my cameras. I love patterning the deer. I like showing up at the right time, checking the wind, knowing what stand I need to be in. And then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like, I then can hang my hat. But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're going to win. And then when I go in, it's like, yeah, it's cool. I won the tournament. The ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, when you find them and you make them bite, that's the puzzle.
Colin Cowherd
I love it.

Play the Fox super six NFL Challenge, download the Fox Sports app and enter for a free shot to win your share of $10,000. One of the questions is, which player will have the Most receiving yards? JSN against the Titans, Amon Ross St. Brown vs. The Giants, Pickens against the Eagles, or Devonta Smith against the Cowboys? Coward. This should be easy. Who you got?
Colin Cowherd
JSN against Tennessee.
J. Mac
Oh, I thought you would go amun ra. That JSN game could be over in the third quarter. I don't even. We'll see. It's one of those two, though. I would agree.
Colin Cowherd
So, you know, one of the things I try to grapple with or put my arms around, young athletes, they get rich. They're 23, 24 years old. And when I was 23 or 24 years old, I don't remember how disciplined or undisciplined I was. I mean, I showed up to work and I worked hard, but I had a good time. I was in Vegas. So, you know, I always think, especially in football, quarterback, different rules. Can't go out and party the night before. Got to be in bed early. You're the coach on the field, wide receiver, off ball, linebacker, corner. So, you know when CD Lamb and George Pickens. The night before a game in Vegas. They're in Vegas, they're young. They go out and have stakes at Red Rock Casino. Beautiful. Beautiful. I mean, they're rich, confident guys. They're young. They go out and have steaks. Maybe they have a cocktail. I mean, I'm sure it was watered down in Vegas. A casino, barely any gin in it. But Jerry Jones was asked on radio if that bothered him.
Julian Edelman
Do you have a problem with players.
Colin Cowherd
Partying the night before a game? Yes, I do. But still, the Adam is the idea. Is this the business trip? Let's get down to business. Now is a couple of cocktails with a teammate party. It doesn't appear to be a nightclub deal. It wasn't a four in the morning deal. There's a report somebody was thrown up in the hotel lobby. It's been denied. CD Lamp said I can handle my liquor. That wasn't me. So I don't think it was a party situation. But I would say this is position to me. I go into situations, I have kids, they're going to make mistakes. I just bake it in. My stockbroker will have bad stocks like I bake it into life. So it's not the end of the world. It's wide receivers. Hey, it'd be different if they were from a buddy not on the team. The fact that two star receivers are friends, I would argue that's not terrible. I'm, I'm probably in the minority here. It's not the end of the world again, it's not a Super bowl. It's. It's a road game. You're with a teammate. It doesn't sound like it was a wild party bougie night, maybe a little boozy, not bougie. So I'm okay with it. The Shador Sanders start to me is I. There's 11 different prop bets I will bet probably none of them. I would say what do I expect from Shador Sanders? In his first career start, Stefanski would rather he not throw more than 25 times. They would rather run the football which they may be able to do against the Raiders. Also you don't need to score a lot of points against the Raiders. So if you're Kevin Stepanski, 23 points could be it. So my guess is he's telling Shador is listen, they're not going to move the ball much on us. They're not moving the ball on anybody. They can't run the football. Gino throws, picks. Our defense will put us in a good field position. So this is one of these games I said this about Caleb against the Steelers. It's a self awareness game. Pittsburgh's not going to score a lot on Chicago. You don't need to challenge JJ TJ Watt. You don't need to hold on to the ball. We're going to run it, get to the end of the game, win by four points. And I think Cleveland and Stefanski look at Shador and think you don't have to score a lot of points. So what you want to avoid if you're shadow is negative plays, interceptions, letting a bad team off the hook. So I think he'll be. I think it's going to be a super conservative game plan. Here's Julian Edelman on what he expects.
Julian Edelman
Max Crosby can ruin a guy's day. So anytime a young quarterback has an elite pass rusher that he knows he's going against, I'm sure he's going to be thinking about that speeding up his quarterback clock process. But I do expect him to be better than last week because he's going to have some reps this week with the ones he's going to be the focal point in practice which usually backups aren't. So I expect them to be mid.
Colin Cowherd
So J. Mac put it out there. I'm going to do this 14 of 20. I'm going to write this down. I want to write that. I want to keep track on this. Hold on. Shador Sanders. Let me think of this. 13 of 18, 139 yards, one touchdown, one pick. Passer rating of 82. 5. So so put that down. So 13 of 18. They're not going to throw much low scoring gameplay between the 30s. Don't let the Raiders off the hook. 139 yards. He'll have an ugly pick. He'll have a 12 yard touchdown to, you know Jerry Judy passer ratings in the 80s because he doesn't throw the ball down the field a lot but it will be a competent performance and it's I, I think it's got a 23:20 feel to it either way so interesting.
J. Mac
So it looks like based on some.
Colin Cowherd
Of these prop numbers what are the props say?
J. Mac
They don't even think she was going to throw for 200 yards and it looks like in Joku may not play Colin. He hasn't practiced all week. He's their good tight end. They do have Fanon who's pretty good.
Colin Cowherd
He's the rookie.
J. Mac
Yeah yeah he's the rookie.
Colin Cowherd
Bowling Green. Yeah.
Molly Lambert
Yeah.
J. Mac
I don't know. I'm not as optimistic as you. I think it's going to be a very cautious game.
Colin Cowherd
What, what are the over unders on completions?
J. Mac
I see yards here on I don't know if we could say the oh pass attempts. Let's look at pass attempts for your guy. Shedure.
Colin Cowherd
I said 13 of 18. What is what does Vegas say?
J. Mac
So Vegas is basically they'll list pass attempts if you want to bet 28 or more pass attempts. Under minus 144 under under 28.
Colin Cowherd
Under under 28.
J. Mac
Maybe they fall behind. They can't stop Ash and Genty and they're trailing 20 to 6 and they got a chuck and duck. But you're right. I think it's going to be a cautious game plan from Stefanski here. I don't know. I wanted to back Shador getting. Getting three or four.
Colin Cowherd
What are the picks? What are the over unders on picks?
J. Mac
Well, you know, listen, there's a lot of props here. Interceptions.
Colin Cowherd
Oh, boy.
J. Mac
Shador interceptions, one or more. Minus 222. So you gotta lay a lot of money if you think he's gonna throw.
Colin Cowherd
I think you have to bake in one.
J. Mac
One for sure.
Colin Cowherd
Yeah. Yeah.
J. Mac
Now the Raiders secondary is not great. They got destroyed by Dak Prescott.
Colin Cowherd
Although Prescott's a pro bowler.
Public Investing Announcer
Yeah. Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
Okay.
Molly Lambert
So.
Colin Cowherd
Okay.
J. Mac
Can we go back to the Cowboys for a sec? This, this Pickens Lamb thing. So you. It sounds like you're not. It's no big deal that these guys were boozing it up.
Colin Cowherd
It's not a nightclub party. It's dinner steaks with a teammate who's in your unit and you have a couple cocktails. Let's say they each had three.
J. Mac
So all of a sudden you have the reports from people at the casino that one of them was vomiting. He's saying that's not true. Okay. We do know there's cameras all over. All over Vegas. So if there is vomiting, it probably will emerge. Here's my thing, though. You just got Pickens. It's working great. Pickens and Lamb seem to be tight now. They're. They're friendly. There's no, like, I need more looks. I almost wonder if this is going to become like a bromance between these two and. And Pickens, you have to then definitely keep him. Colin, I don't. We're looking around the league.
AutoTrader Announcer
Is.
J. Mac
Is this the model paying two wide receivers a bunch of money?
Colin Cowherd
Well, Dallas, remember Dallas's O line is a work in progress. It's really young and right now really cheap. Okay. And they're not paying a running back. So running back, tight end, the reason they can do it and they let Micah go. And also some of their young defensive players we saw against the Raiders when healthy are pretty good. Now they're paying Quinn and Williams, Dax, CD Lamb, you can pay Pickens franchise tag him a pretty reasonable number. I will just say the Dallas's defense, the. When the young players are healthy, they've not. They've got a second round kid overshown. Pretty good players. Pretty good players.
J. Mac
We like him.
Julian Edelman
Yeah.
Colin Cowherd
And we know their first two picks in this next draft are probably a corner and an edge rusher so by all Dallas wanted when they moved off Micah, they wanted flexibility. They couldn't afford Derrick Henry and $8 million two years ago. So Jerry's a deal maker. He's like, I gotta be flexible. And for the record, the Cowboys are third in the league in quarterback pressures without Micah, and that's only going to get better with Quinn and Williams. So I think, I think Jerry was right on this move. I really do. Two first round picks in a draft. Seven teams are desperate for a quarterback. Quarterback will be overdrafted. Jerry could turn those two firsts to another third, another fourth. I don't think. The Cowboys are miles away.
J. Mac
So. So essentially Quinn and Williams and Pickens or Micah Parsons. Because you're gonna have to pay Quinn, and Quinn has already got money. You have to pay Pickens a lot. He's gonna get like 30 mil.
Colin Cowherd
I'm okay with that. Interior D lineman more valuable than edge rusher. Yeah.

In this action-packed Hour 2, Colin Cowherd delivers his highly anticipated “Blazing 5” NFL Picks for the weekend, dives deep into the Kansas City Chiefs’ surprising struggles this season, and brings on three-time Super Bowl champion Julian Edelman for a candid, wide-ranging conversation about late-season football, pressure on young quarterbacks, the psyche of championship teams, and must-watch upcoming matchups. This hour is packed with sharp betting insights, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and big-picture analysis perfect for die-hard NFL fans.
Colin breaks down his five hottest bets of the week, complete with detailed rationales and score predictions:
Green Bay Packers -6.5 vs. Vikings
Chicago Bears -2.5 vs. Steelers
Colts at Chiefs — Over 50.5
Seahawks -13.5 at Titans
Carolina Panthers +7 at 49ers
J. Mac broadly agrees with Colin’s picks, expressing doubt on the Panthers:
Colin: Draws historical parallels, arguing that counting out veteran champions is always risky:
Julian Edelman: Relates to his Patriots’ experience:
Colin and Edelman analyze Buffalo’s issues after a concerning loss:
Colin: Points out Josh Allen’s forced errors and defensive collapse.
Edelman:
Colin: Discusses the extra pressure young, first-round QBs face, especially on teams expecting to win now.
Edelman:
Colin asks Edelman how the tone shifts as the calendar turns to late November/December.
Both hosts predict a conservative Browns game plan in Sanders’ first start; Julian Edelman:
Colin’s bold prediction: “13 of 18, 139 yards, one touchdown, one pick. Passer rating of 82.5.” (50:47)

— Colin Cowherd (19:35)
“If you like football and you like to compete, you're in the right business because this time of the year is what that is about.”
— Julian Edelman (24:20)

— Colin Cowherd (31:30)
“I go into situations, I have kids, they're going to make mistakes. I just bake it in. My stockbroker will have bad stocks—I bake it into life.”
— Colin Cowherd (47:27)
