I mean, that's. Listen, that, that is one approach to take. That's. That's one perspective to have. You. You could look at that as damaged goods. Fair. That's also absurd. What else is absurd? And I was making this point earlier that you cannot cure crazy. At a certain point. You just have to acknowledge it. If you're in a relationship, if you got a buddy, if you got. Look, whatever. If you're around somebody who's nuts, you can defend them all you want or you can just say, at a certain point, yeah, you're right, they're crazy. And Jerry Jones trading Micah Parsons is crazy. Jerry Jones also spoke with the NFL Network and had this to say. Our player that we got is outstanding. This on the trade, by the way. Our player that we got is outstanding. We knew that. And he'll immediately start making plays for us when we get up there against those Philadelphia Eagles. But the most important thing is we really wanted to stop the run. And Mike is wonderful football player. We think this gives us a better chance to stop the run. Other teams knew that and they threw the ball out quick and they ran against us when we had Micah. And they're really emphasizing pass rush. Okay, all right. So, like, we're, we're going to double down on the, on the stop the run stuff. Fair. Adam Schefter's got a report my Micah Parson might need an epidural before he plays in week one, and he may not play. Okay, got it, got it. But don't worry. The Cowboys did sign Duron Bland to a four year extension. Like, so everybody every. Just relax. They know what they're doing. Everybody's calm down. They know exactly what they're doing. My favorite is how Brian Schottenheimer is talking at a press conference, I think on Friday. It might have been Friday or Saturday. And Brian Schottenheimer is like, listen, man, the goals haven't changed. Like, you know, nothing has changed. The goals haven't changed. Yeah, just the chances of those goals have changed. That's, you know, that's one thing. Like that's, you know, and that feels like it's noteworthy. You know, those. The chances of those goals being reached have changed. And when you see that, you know, the Cowboys are. They signed to Ron Bland and Jerry Jones is talking about, you know, we did bring this in, and we've got all these draft picks now, and it's like, I wonder if he looks at this, and I wonder if he's like, you know, we did the. The Herschel Walker trade, You know, my. My coach, slash de facto GM made that trade, you know, years ago, and look at what it resulted in and all these other picks and these. These legendary players that really set up our franchise. And at some point, somebody's got to tell Jerry Jones that he's more like Woody Johnson than Jimmy Johnson, because this is nonsensical. Like, there's literally nobody in the NFL who would have done this trade other than Jerry Jones. Nobody. And Jerry Jones and. And Brian Schottenheimer and everybody there in Dallas is, like, trying to sell you on the fact that, like, oh, well, we were all. It was a unanimous decision. We all. We all agree that this is the best thing for the football team. No. No way. No way. If you ask Matt Eberfluss, the defensive coordinator in Dallas, if you were to ask Matt Eberflus, hey, would you rather have Micah Parsons or Kenny Clark going into the season, what do you think his answer would have been? And that says Kenny Clark's not a great player. He is a good player. Been to three Pro Bowls. Like, he's a good player, but he's older and he plays a position that is not as valued as pass rusher. The NFL tells you, like, what the most important positions are in the league based on who gets paid the most. That's how that works. It's quarterback, wide receivers, pass rushers. Like, those are. Like, those are the ones. And Dallas traded away one of the best at his position. And Dak Prescott was. We listened to the sound earlier, Ty. Well, you know, things got personal. Apparently. Things got personal. Oh, yeah. And so anybody in Dallas trying to come out with. With rational explanations on this, like, you know, Albert Breer had a quote that, you know, Micah Parsons had an ego. Okay, well, I guess he's the only person in. In Dallas that's got an ego or that was in Dallas that has an ego. Like, it's all bananas, like. Like none of it makes any sense. And Jerry Jones is, you know, wants to wheel and deal, and I'm doing. And it's like, at a certain point, he's Woody. He's not Jimmy, because he's doing a lot of the things that dysfunctional teams and dysfunctional owners have done in the NFL for a long time. And I was making this point over the weekend. I was saying, look, you can go through and talk about the most dysfunctional organizations in the NFL, the ones that have, like, a lot of turnover. And you can go to Carolina with David Tepper. You could go to Washington back when Dan Snyder had him. You can go to the jets with Woody Johnson. And for the longest time, the difference between the Cowboys and those other organizations, other than the fact that, you know, like a couple of those have actually been to a conference championship game in recent memory and Dallas hasn't. But for the longest time, the only difference between the Cowboys and those other organizations is that you didn't have an impulsive owner for the most part, and you actually had a guy who was loyal to his own. Jerry Jones has always been loyal to his own. It's why everybody looked at Dak Prescott and were like, yeah, he's gonna get paid. Of course he is. He's gotten paid twice. In fact, they gave him a monster deal after he broke his leg. CD Lamb. Yeah, of course they're gonna pay him. Ezekiel Elliott, of course. But they tried bringing him back. Like, of course he always rewards his own. He's a really loyal guy. Jason Garrett. He didn't want to get rid of Jason Garrett. Everybody thought Mike McCarthy was gone way before Mike McCarthy was finally left. Like, he's a really loyal guy. And that was really the difference between him and all those other owners. Dan Snyder wasn't loyal to anybody there. Turn and burn. How many coaches were out the door quick? Woody Johnson, same thing. Coach, GM fired coach. GM fired coach, fire David Tepper. David Tepper was so uptight during his firing spree that David Tepper stopped off at a bar on the way to the draft because they had some sign with like a, like a smart ass slogan about David Tepper, like, hey, David, don't screw up the draft this time. And he had to stop in there to go get a word with the people who put the signage up. Well, the only difference between Jerry Jones and those other guys is that Jerry Jones was actually loyal to his players. He was loyal to his guys. He rewarded his own players. He rewarded his people. And all that changed when he traded Micah Parsons, because that was the one that was the no brainer. You could argue against giving Dak Prescott the contract if you want. You could argue against CD Lamb getting the contract. If you want Zeke Elliott, you can argue against all those guys. The no brainer was Micah Parsons and Jerry Jones got into it personally with him, had an issue with David Mulligetta, his agent, whatever it was, and all of a sudden he got impulsive instead of thinking about it in terms of, hey, what's going to make our team better? If I really am all about this super bowl, what's going to make us better? Let's make that move. Let's leave all the personal stuff out of it. Let's make that move. He didn't. Instead of doing what Jimmy Johnson would have done, he did what Woody Johnson would have done at the Jonas Knox on x onasnox show on Instagram. And you can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app, by the way.
