You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. There's always a game played every year at this time. A little earlier this year, in fact, with coaches getting fired, that means there's openings and people getting discussed. The coach will always dismiss any rumor. I have not talked to anybody. Well, that's because they have a powerful agent like Jimmy Sexton that does all the calling. And so that allows a coach to say, I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't talked to anybody. The question should be, have you or your agent discussed anything? Because that's the game that gets played. So last week, Diana Rossini, the athletic senior NFL insider who's joining us live, first things first, she'll be on it today. Sark dismissed the report. But I had said about a month ago, I'm like, if I was an NFL guy, Sark's gotta be top of my list on one of the guys he's worked in the NFL. He's been great at college. What did you make of him dismissing your report before getting into all the fun stuff?
B
First of all, congratulations on the induction in the Radio hall of Fame. You, your voice has been a companion to so many people, including myself during my lonely days when I was living out in Portland and Seattle and I had a really low level job in sports and I didn't know what I wanted to do. But you were my company, you were my friend. So this isn't just a temporary thing. This is forever, my friend. So congrats to you. Quite the honor. So let's, let's dive into this. Right. So, yeah, you're right. Jimmy Sexton puts out a statement pretty quickly denying that Steve Sarkeesian would have any interest in the NFL. Right. And that's not what I reported. I reported that his representatives told NFL decision makers, not just the Tennessee Titans, just people in the NFL, that Steve Sarkeesian would have interested interest in a head coaching job if there were one to open. Right. Because obviously Tennessee's the only one that's available at this moment. But as we know, this is all going to change over the next few weeks. And as we get closer to the end of December, there will be more openings. So, look, the reason why they came out strong against this is this is not good for Steve Sarkeesian at Texas. Right. He just signed a new contract. He tells everybody he's happy, and I believe he is happy. Like, I think he likes being the coach of Texas. I don't have those doubts. But he has the most powerful agent in college sports for a reason. This is what Jimmy Sexton is paid to do. It is to make sure that Steve Sarkeesian has all the options. We could probably have a long conversation about whether or not we think the Texas job is actually better than the Titans job. Right. But most guys that I talk to in football specifically will tell you they will take the worst job in football in the NFL over the best job in college. So at the end of the day, yes, Texas is one of the great coaching places to be, but it ain't the NFL.
A
Right. Yeah. I mean, you don't have to recruit, deal with donors. You get an occasional impulsive owner. Some aren't, some are. Diana Rossini joining us. All right, I want to ask you, the Athletic has the article about A.J. brown, and he. I'm sympathetic to it. He's a bit of a loner. He said he struggles making friends. And I said, you know, Jalen Hurts is one of those guys. We're very unfair about this. When a quarterback enters the NFL, we need you to be 43 years old. At 23, you've got to be a CEO, a psychologist. I mean, Dak Prescott walked into Dallas and it was like DEZ Bryant, Jerry Jones, the media. And he was great. And very few humans can do it. Jalen Hurts, I think, has that component to his personality. He's like the cooler. He brings the temperature down in loud Philly. What is the current relationship, Diana, with your reporting on the Hurts AJ Brown relationship today?
B
Yeah. On the field, it's not great. Right. Because there's obviously a not. There's not a very good connection there. AJ Brown has been very public on social media about how he feels about it. And in that article with the Athletic. He doesn't want to just be used, using his words, right. In the moments when Philly needs him to come through. He wants to be part of this Philly offense throughout the game. And when you talk to people around the league that have had to defend the Eagles over the last few weeks, they say they understand where AJ Is coming from, right? But what's good for the team, the offense that we saw run this past week against the New York Giants is the offense the Eagles want to be. When Saquon Barkley gets going and there's a ground game and they protect well, that is where they're always going to go. And A.J. brown knows that now. Look, the passing game opens up when Saquon could run well. AJ Also knows that, but it is very apparent that he's not happy there. He does not want to be in Philadelphia. And I don't think he's trying to hide it either. I don't think you have to be a reporter to even understand it. I think what Nick Sirianni is so good at managing though are these personalities and they spend a lot of time with AJ Trying to have these conversations of like, look, we're going to get you the ball, we're going to sort this out. We've got a first time offensive coordinator here, call in place. We just need a little bit more time. The problem is we've got the trade deadline coming up. Okay? Teams have called the Eagles about A.J. brown because they can see it, they know there's a problem here. And for now Philly saying unless this is a gigantic offer, a blockbuster deal, we are sticking with A.J. brown. They're on a bi week this week and I actually think this works in the favor of Philly. I think this just lets everybody cool off and sort it out and sort of get realigned to what they want to do coming out of the buy. So we'll see how this goes. But there's still a few days before the trade deadline.
A
You've been talking to Jerry and Steven Jones in the last week or two. Jerry made a comment that he would make a move at the trade deadline, which I think is terrifying because they've got two first round picks and they don't need a quarterback. That is the catbird seat in the NFL. Like the Rams don't need one today, but they probably need one because Matt's 37, Dak's got four to five more good years, two first round picks, the next two years they can move down, they can get more picks so when Jerry says, hey, I want to make a deal maker, I'm like, no, no, no, no. Somebody step in front of Jerry. Don't do that. What, when they say that, do you buy into it? Do you think they'll make a move here in the next few days?
B
No, I don't. I don't. I hear him and I spent an hour talking with him about what they're going to do, just trying to pick his brain, like, trying to kind of cut through all, you know, all just the jibber that he gives us a lot. And he has the picks. He gets it. He doesn't have any regrets from the Micah Parsons trade because he got those picks. I think they're looking at the landscape of the league right now and they want to find some talent. I just don't think there's a lot out there for him. I think they want to take a swing for a big player, but those players aren't available. And I think that's the point they're at. He knows the defense needs help. What they did against the Commanders was good because they had good turnovers. But then what we saw last week, they took a step back again. It is apparent that that is the weakness of this Dallas Cowboys team. So what does that mean with just being a few days out from this November 4th trade deadline? They're making calls, but I don't think there's a player out there that they think can fix it. I don't think it's just one player and they know it.
A
So the trade deadline coming up, I think Buffalo could use help. I think the Colts would look for a pass rusher. Rams solve their corner issue. Let me throw Detroit out. Colts in Detroit. I keep hearing rumors. What are you hearing?
B
Those are good. Yeah, they're not rumors. Pass rush for sure for Detroit. The position that Indy needs is corner. Like, they are desperate and they are working the phones right now trying to fill because they're dealing with tons of injuries. Luana Rumo has made some magic over the last few weeks with that situation, and I think we could all fairly say this is a team that's going to go in the playoffs and if they can fix this one weakness, they've got a really good shot. I don't find Detroit to be as desperate. I think the way this roster is constructed right now, they're really good shape, but they could use that help to at corner and pass rush as well. The Philadelphia Eagles, I mean, we know Howie Roseman is always working the phones. They need an edge rusher. Badly, and everybody knows it. And they're making calls everywhere. And that's. That's really the position, Colin, that. That teams are desperate for. It's all pass rush. That. That is where if you are a pass rusher right now, someone probably called for you, even if you're not that good, because there's just such a need. So I expect Philly to make a move here. Miami has some players that are available that they could be calling. And you're right, Buffalo is looking for wide receiver. They're also looking for some help on the defensive side of the ball. They're looking at safety, so lots of needs for teams. I just don't know if there's a lot available.
A
Yeah, well, I think, you know, fans have gotten smarter. GMs have gotten smarter. There's so much transparency. The, you know, the Chargers have been patient, and Joe Alt came back, and they're fine. I think Miles Garrett, I said yesterday, I could see, because I think Daniel Jones will sign an extension. They got their coach, their quarterback. They've got weapons. I could see they got their old line. I could see Chris Ballard going, we'll give you two ones for Miles Garrett. Would Cleveland consider. Now Cleveland's got two ones already. How many do you need? Miles Garrett. Any chance he moves?
B
No, they won't do it. And look, every general manager I've ever had this conversation with will always go well. Unless it's, like, unbelievable, then you got to take it, right? So with that in mind, if the way I'm translating, or at least at least the way I'm hearing Cleveland, they don't want to move him. They know they need him on this team. They don't have much in Cleveland in terms of what to hang their hat on. They need to figure out the quarterback position. And if they can figure that out and have Miles Garrett on the other side of the ball, I think in their mind, they can construct something decent. Now, teams are still calling, but teams that I've spoken to over the last 24 hours, we'll say that have reached out to Cleveland, have all been told the same thing. We're not moving them. We're not dealing him. So I think the idea is there, just like the way it is with Max Crosby. I know there was some chatter about the Dallas Cowboys perhaps being interested in him. I think that's another organization that doesn't want to let go of a player of that talent, the Tennessee Titans, Jeffrey Simmons, another guy that. I mean, if I'm Jerry Jones, I'm begging the Titans for that. It's less money than Micah Parsons and he could be a great addition to that pass rush. But Tennessee is another team. They're not willing to move on them.
A
Great stuff. Diana Rossini, first things first today. You know, this TV thing is pretty cushy. You may want to consider it. You know that writing's hard.
B
Writing is hard, but I like it. But I don't know, I do a little bit of everything these days. You know, I'm just trying to keep up with you.
A
Colin, great seeing you.
B
Great to see you. Congrats.
A
All right. Diana Rossini, thank you for the compliments for us and the staff covering the NFL for 10 years. The Athletic Senior NFL Insider yeah, I mean there are not many players. I would give up. I mean I would give up a couple of firsts for a lot of quarterbacks. I mean I you think about that if tomorrow. Patrick Mahomes, five first round picks. That doesn't feel enough. Miles Garrett, I would give up two first round picks. I'm trying to think of the defensive players now in the NFL. Miles Garrett, that's it. I think Jared Verse, I'd give up maybe a first and a second. I think he's unbelievable. You know, it's an offensive league. But you, you, you know, I've said before, keep your defense young, twitchy and deep, that you're going to have to pay eventually for the big dog up front, the Max Crosby, the Trey Hendrickson. Salt Lake City, 20,000 people. You know, huge turnouts. People are really dissatisfied about the status quo. His Fighting Oligarchy tour with AOC and other young progressives has become a movement. But is his message too far to the left well, he certainly doesn't think so. Does that sound like a radical idea, Katie? Is that too far left for you?
B
Okay, okay, I get your point, Bernie.

We talk about the billionaire class, the cost of living, and of course, the government shutdown. Not to mention the current state of the Democratic Party. To me, the failure of the Democratic Party has been an unwillingness to recognize the real issues.

Listen to Genaworld on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. J. Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the Herdline news. All right, let's start with the Dallas Cowboys. Colin. They've been an interesting story this season. Dak Prescott rejuvenated, largely thanks to Mr. Pickens, but also Brian Schottenheimer said a good first year. I mean, surprising the hell out of us. They're 3, 4 and 1. But Schottenheimer got a little combative with the media, saying the only stat that matters is wins. None of us have done good enough. You know, main coaches, players, head coach. None of us have done good enough. That's. That's real. I mean, our scorecard is what it is, you know, and that's not just, you know, defensively. That's offensively. You know, we're a football team that's 3, 4 and 1. You can take the stats on offense, and I'm concerned. I mean, is what it is. We want to win. You know, I. I don't. Are we really bleeping out? Shove it up your. You know what? We can't say that on tv. You know what? Coach of the year so far is probably Mike Brable. Is that fair? Shane Steichen would like a word. Okay. Vrabel. I think Shanahan's been unbelievable. Does Brian Schottenheimer get in the top three or four, all things considered? No. All right, all right. I. How are you making a case for. They're 3, 4 and 3, 4 and 1. Don't forget that tie against them with the worst defense in the league. Well, the two worst defenses in the league are the Cowboys and, you know, whoever's playing the Cowboys. Because I would say. Because I think Shane Steichen's got a much better roster than. Now. You say that, but you would not have said that in. In August. I said it. I've been saying it for two years, that all they need is a quarterback. I love their roster. I love the Colts roster last year. Well, let's. Let's see here. I think they're running Colts, right? Yeah. Wide receiver, Cowboys by a mile. Quarterback, Cowboys. No, no, I'm forget. I'm talking Colts. And Brable. I would give Vrabel number one. I think he's doing more with less. I would give Steichen 2. Shannon. I think Kyle Shanahan's done an unbelievable job. Backup quarterback, five of his top players. Bosa out. Year Warner. Hurt. Who? Funga? Greenlawn. I mean, I, I, I think it's Vrabel. Vrabel's doing more with less. Steichen has more. They've got the best roster, healthiest roster, and they. Seattle's got a good coach. Tampa's got a good coach that are exceeding expectations dramatically. I don't think Seattle is. I had him as a playoff team. Aren't they five and two? Yeah, I had him ending. I had him winning 10 or 11 games. That's right. I forgot you. You're so prescient with your August NFL picks. Damn. Damn it. All right, let's move on to the Baltimore Ravens. Oh, remember the story about the ping pong tables last week? You went off on that. Yeah. So the Ravens removed ping pong tables. Papa shot. Another thing I could dominate you in. And video games all pulled from the locker room. Well, Lamar told the media, guess what? It wasn't the team. I was the one who made that request. Told him to take all the games and ping pong. Turn the TVs off. If we could have took the TVs out, it would have been out, too. But I appreciate Mr. Steve for putting that in there for us, you know, but, yeah, we had to focus. I wouldn't say people don't take the job serious. Don't get me wrong. But, like, I didn't feel like it was the time for that, you know, we got a lot of work. We got a lot of work to do. Love that. Leadership. Capital L. I love it. I love it. So we got a lot of work to do. It's not the time for ping pong tables. Okay, a quick counter and I'm not Lamar. Fans, settle down before you hear this. So does this kind of reek of Lamar saying, hey, man, I come out and we all of a sudden stink? You guys gotta clean up your act. No TV for you, no ping pong for you. Isn't that like you telling your kids, hey, man, no dinner tonight. You didn't perform well in school. Well, I don't tell my kids that. I know. I'm sorry. My kids. No, it is.
B
What?
A
Leadership isn't a popularity contest. Leadership is. Anybody can be popular. That's not leadership. Leadership is doing unpopular things that are necessary and saying, guys, no more ping pong tables, no more video games. Love him. I mean, I've always defended Lamar Jackson. I love this about him. Grown up. Need grown ups in the locker room, not out there hanging around video games and eating candy corn all day. Maybe because Lamar stinks at ping pong, he had the tables removed. I don't know. Final story, Colin, over to college football where Bill Belichick still on the struggle bus this season. North Carolina 2 and 5. They are dog water in the ACC. Here we go. Belichick was just. Remember there was a report saying Belichick was discussing buyout options. He went off to the media. Take a listen to this one. It's already been taken down and everything else, but it's just total, you know, as Trump would say, fake news. I mean, it's just, I don't know, it's just a novel. There's plenty of that out there too, by the way, but I'm not going to deal with that. I'm sure there's a lot of other people out there that want to get, you know, clicks and views and, you know, posts on my face or whatever and. But like, it's just a bunch of garbage. Well, there it. I would say a majority of stuff on, on my face is garbage. But you know, if he was winning, the jokes are funnier when you're winning. When you're losing, it just sounds grumpy. When you're winning, it's funny. He used to say that all the time. Snap face and my chat. Remember you used to say that? New England. Everybody thought that was funny. It's a little old now. Hey, I'm curious. Where's Jordan Hudson been since that TV show fell apart and they started losing? Well, again, mysteriously, I'm not seeing a lot of her anymore. Does she not want to hang around losers? No, I think she read the room and this is not the time to be out there. No, I mean, it's, it's the thing. What we've learned. There's two things we've learned about college football coaching since nil arrived. You can't load at Colorado, lsu, usc. You're gonna have all the money in the world. You can't have a roster, and this is Carolina too, of 60% transfers. It ruins chemistry. You're gonna miss on too many guys. It's gonna create animosity in the room. And I think one of the things with Belichick, of the things that haven't gone right, they spent a lot of money on a lot of players and they didn't hit on them. And I think, I think the transfer portal, two things can be true. I like it. And it should be used with discretion. And I, the number I always come back to. I talked to a coach about this. He said about seven to eight guys a year. He goes, everybody needs a corner. Every year he goes, there's a shortage of corners. He goes, if you can find a receiver that blocks, you know, an interior offensive lineman who's a smart guy, got one year later, you know, kickers, there's things that people can owe another good slot corner, you know, another, you know, another receiver who can get physical downfield and block another running back, right? Like the third or fourth running back. What happens with the transfer portal? North Carolina tried to set their starting lineups with a transfer portal. Like, hey, we're going to go get starters. I think the underrated part of the transfer portal is not everybody's a star. You get guys that add depth. Now again, if you can go get Caleb Downs, you're Ohio State, by all means, or a star quarterback, Caleb Williams, then go get him. But by and large, I think a lot of it is just adding less expensive, less animosity, just adding depth at key positions. Offensive tackle, corner wide receiver. That blocks. A lot of them don't. So I, I think Indiana's done it well, they've hit on the guys. They brought in J. Mac with the news. Well, that's the news and thanks for stopping by the herd lie news. You know what? It is interesting right now. The packers are as good as anybody in the NFL. Kansas City, Green Bay, very good. Toronto looks like they're going to upend the Dodgers. We, you know, Indianapolis culture on fire. The New York football teams are a mess. Chicago can't get it right. Here's Kansas City once again getting it right. It is remarkable to me that we worry so much about the money and the market size. Best team in the NBA, Oklahoma City. Best team in the NFL, Kansas City and Green Bay. Now Toronto's obviously in North America, a very large city, but they, they're over and under. Was in the mid 70 wins. Dodgers like 105, 106. So it's been a very good last several years for underdogs. Underdogs and small markets are doing very, very well. Is it because. I don't know. I don't have a theory behind it, but is there's so much money in sports are medium and smaller market more disciplined. It's like, it's like the book, the Millionaire Next Door. How many school teachers are millionaires because they're smarter with their money? They don't have excess money to pay their house off. They pay their cars off. I feel like when you get into these big cities, you get often very wealthy owners, not always Bears owners aren't very wealthy, but you often get more ego, richer owners. The media's harder, creating more impulsive moves. They're more chaotic. I mean, Green Bay, everybody's on board. Kansas City, everybody's on board. You can hide a little bit in Denver, you can hide a little bit in Baltimore. It just, I mean, you, there was a report last night that the the clubhouse for the Blue Jays, it was like spring training. There's no pressure. They've trailed four times in the playoffs. There's no pressure for the Blue Jays. There's enormous pressure. Ohtani, Freeman, Betts, Dodgers, we wrap it up next, the Herd. Be sure to catch live editions of the Herd, weekdays at noon Eastern, 9am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1 and the iHeartRadio app on the latest episode of Next Question with me, Katie Couric. Jenna World, Jenna Jamison, Vivid Video and the Valley is a new podcast about the history of the adult film industry. I'm Molly Lambert, host of Heidi the Heidi Fly Story, and I'll be your tour guide on a wild ride through adult film. We get paid more than the men. We call the shots. In what way is that degrading? That's us taking hold of our Life. In the 1990s, actress Jenna Jameson crossed over into mainstream culture, redefined stardom, then left it all behind. I'm a powerful woman.
B
I think that's intimidating to a man.
A
With a cast of. Of hundreds of actors and comedians playing key figures, we'll take a look at how adult films became legal in the 70s, hugely profitable in the 80s and 90s, and fell off a financial cliff in the 2000s. Listen to Jenna World on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know, the shade is always shadiest right here. Season six of the podcast Reasonably Shady with Gisele Bryant and Robin Dixon is here dropping every Monday as two of the founding members of the Real Housewives Potomac. We're giving you all the laughs, drama, and reality news you can handle. And, you know, we don't hold back. So come be reasonable or shady with us each and. Every Monday, I was going through a walk in my neighborhood. Out of the blue, I see this huge sign next to somebody's house. Okay, the sign says, my neighbor is a Karen. No way. I died laughing. I'm like, I have to know. You are lying. Humongous, y'. All. They had some time on their hands. Listen to Reasonably Shady from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. You know, it's. It is so funny. Like, sometimes you just have to admit. Like, with Patrick Mahomes, you just got to admit he's better than your quarterback. He didn't have to be as big or as strong, but, you know, you can fight the current in life or, like, for years and years and years, it's like, well, Brady's a system quarterback. And I'm like, no, Brady is the system and the quarterback, and Belichick can't win games when he leaves. Patrick Mahomes is just different. And Greg Cosell, I've never heard him say this. He's been on with me 10 years, was talking earlier, gushing over the magic of Patrick Mahomes. He'll leave throws on the field and then he'll run around and make a play. And it's just those are the kinds of things when you watch him, you go, I wonder how they deal with that. Do they just say, great play, Patrick, or do they say, hey, we had this play design and you didn't throw it. And you know, next time throw it. I don't know how they deal with that, but he just has an uncanny ability that is arguably the best we've ever seen. Yeah, he's got. I always. There's a spatial awareness that Greg talked about. The first thing I noticed with Mahomes, the first thing that was really obvious and it was from a camera in the end zone. So this was years ago. It was like four or five, six years ago. There was a camera in the end zone and they showed a replay. And I yeah, it was like a Sunday night game. And they showed Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball. And it was. And this has happened to me so many times where I've just seen a play and I'm like, oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. That, that's different. And he saw the receiver and it wasn't wide open, right? And he had the ball out of his hands in half a second. His ability to see it and get the ball out accurately. So much of this league is quarterbacks throwing it late. Either they don't identify it, don't throw people open, or they just take an extra beat. Mahomes, it's very merino. See it, and it's not terribly open. See it ball out. So that gives you the highest percentage chance to get a completion that you get. You see it, I mean, one boom quarter second faster than the average quarterback. Now sometimes you're throwing guys open, the cornerback turns or, you know, you, you're kind of, you're. It's. It's the estimate, the guesstimate. Like you're not always throwing to an open guy. And he had a couple picks. Patrick will throw his picks. It's the opposite with Caleb Williams, who on the interception Greg Cosell talked about, he was a little late on that interception from his end zone. He was not only late, he was two beats late. So Mahomes is never a beat late. He's never been two beats late.
B
But.
A
But overall, Greg said he was actually impressed with Caleb. I look for Playing with excellent timing and rhythm within structure, because that's really what the Ben Johnson offense is. And Caleb at his core is not a true natural timing anticipation player. So it's going to be baby steps. And I think there were some signs of positive plays this week. Some. Some snapshots where I said as I was watching the tape, that's pretty good. Yeah. And I think the thing about Caleb, there are three things that he's doing now. I like very good on the opening drive. Therefore, he's coachable. He's not stubborn. Secondly, he's developed a real relationship with Roma Dunze, the young receiver out of Washington. That's clear. The other thing, and you see some of it here, is when he does run, you know, he's getting down, he's cut his sacks in half. So, like. Like, this play is a great example. That play. There's not three guys in the league that can do that. Mahomes, Josh Allen can do that. That may be the list. C.J. stroud, I don't know if he can throw off his back foot that play. Maybe he can't. But Caleb this year has had the longest time to throw this season. Who's got the quickest? Patrick Mahomes. And it's not like three different seconds. It's like a second. So Mahomes, to my point, is able to see something, and the ball is out of his hands immediately. Faster than anybody I've ever seen. Caleb can see it, waits a beat, lets it go. He's got the slowest time, and I'm not sure if it's a second that separates them so much. It's probably not half second. I mean, that. I mean, literally, it's a half a second. Just think about the NFL. Patrick's the fastest at like two and a half seconds. Caleb's the slowest at three. That is the difference between interception, completion, superstardom, and Met. So when I hear about these college guys, oh, he's great from the pocket. How long do you get a throw at Alabama? Four beats yet. Two in the NFL. How open are your guys at Alabama or, you know, Ohio State or Michigan? J.J. mcCarthy. Wide open. Do you have a great run game? Are you playing from behind? Are you playing with a lead? All that stuff in the NFL, you're playing from behind. Matt Stafford's playing from behind. With Sean McVeigh as a coach, Right. The Ravens, the Bills, I mean, Philadelphia, you're playing from behind. Your run game doesn't work. Everything at these major programs is comfort. An extra beat or two receivers More wide open. He's a five star receiver. I mean if it was just as easy as finding a five star high school kid. He goes to Ohio State or LSU and then he goes to the NFL. Think about all the quarterbacks. Think about the legends in recent years. Philip Rivers, North Carolina State, Eli Manning, Ole Miss, Aaron Rodgers, cal. Matt Ryan, B.C. big Ben, Miami of Ohio. I mean it's a lot of these guys. Patrick Mahome, Texas Tech, Josh Allen, Wyoming. It is almost as a rule the guys in comfort programs struggle. The guys that get an extra beat and have five star receivers that are more wide open as a rule, they struggle more. And Caleb Williams at USC did not have a great O line, but he had a great play caller and very, very good receivers. Jordan Addison for a year. USC's always got good receivers. They got a couple more this year. So yeah, the difference between Mahomes and Caleb this year. Patrick, let's go with the ball at 2.6 seconds, fastest in the league. Caleb, let's go at 3.1 slowest. I mean just the league is crazy. It's absolutely crazy. We can throw up the schedule one more time. I do like the Bears this weekend. I think they're going to beat. I, I think this is a good spot. I said last weekend I thought was a terrible spot for Chicago. Lamar was going to be back. Baltimore at home against NFC teams. Baltimore has to win. Bad spot for the Bears. The Bears are in a different spot here. Cincinnati is a bad defense. The last time Chicago played a defense that wasn't good, it was Dallas and they moved the chains. So longer drives. The Bears defense, which is playmaking but not really that good, will have longer periods on the sidelines. You're going to find a Bear team that's going to extend drives. The defense will be on the field less. Chicago at Cincinnati is a very, very good matchup for the Bears. Baltimore was a even with Tyler Huntley was a terrible matchup for the Bears. By the way, update Joe Flacco seen at practice today. We don't know how much he's participating. We'll get that officially soon. But Jake Browning would be an auto play on the Bears, right? I mean Jake Browning can't. He couldn't do anything at quarterback. And I think you're right. The swift ground game and the other kid, Kyle's last name starts with an M. Mahogany. Whatever it is, he's pretty good. I got him on my fantasy team. You just ground and pound breeze. Hall went nuts against the Bengals and the Jets. Don't even have a good run game. So I think Ben Johnson opens things up. I like the Bears. Almost all young quarterbacks need a run game. I mean, that's why Sean Payton, people say, why is he getting a running back in the second round? Almost. And J.K. dobbins. Almost all young quarterbacks need a run game. Deandre Swift couldn't run it. They couldn't muster a run game against Baltimore, struggled against Dallas, he could. So veteran quarterbacks can largely live without a great run game all the time. I mean, Dak Prescott's going to win double digits with or without a great run game. He has for years and years. Once Zeke was out of his prime, guys like Dak, guys like Mahomes, guys like, they can win games without a great run game. The guys that just, I mean, it was like last year, was it Joe Mixon or somebody got hurt for the Texans, they didn't have a ground game. And C.J. stroud regressed badly. Yeah. So I think once you get into your third and fourth and fifth year, you're not as beholden to having a great run game. But Denver's a great example. They went and got J.K. dobbins and Harvey and that, that is what Bo Nicks needs. You can live without it. Caleb still in the space. In his career, a run game is. It feels like it's a must have. Couple things to watch. Colin. This is one of the final weeks before the trade deadline. Any team that you see gets blasted and looks like they're going to pack it in. Keep an eye on them, making some moves. If the Dolphins get work tonight, I think they trade two or three guys. Jalen Waddle. Oh, now that would be a big move. He would help a contender for sure. For sure. First things first, around the corner, this is Colin Coward from the herd. With Colin Coward, a wingman flies close with unwavering dedication. I want to tell you about my new true crime podcast, Crimeless Hillbilly Heist from Smartless Media, Campside Media and Big Money Players. It's a wild tale about a gang of high functioning nitwits who somehow pulled off America's third largest cash heist. Kind of like Robin Hood, except for the part where he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. I'm not that generous. It's a damn near inspiring and true story for anyone out there who's ever shot for the moon, then just totally muffed up the landing. They stole $17 million and had not bought a ticket to help him escape. So we're sitting like, oh God, what do we do? What do we do? That was dumb. People, do not follow my example.
