You're doing everything the fitness gurus tell you. You know, the young guys who've never been overweight, never been sick, never had to come back from being obese and having brain fog. You're counting your calories, you're hitting the gym, you're eating clean, but your body keeps fighting you. The scale won't budge. Even though you're hungry all the time, you're exhausted after meals, you're exhausted after a workout. And that stubborn belly fat seems perfect permanently glued to your body. Happened to me. I weighed 300 pounds. I went to the gym on a low calorie diet six days a week for 18 months straight. And when I was done, I still weighed 300 pounds and I still had a 46 inch waist. So you're not alone if you do this stuff that the people who've never had to get to the root of a problem tell you to do, and it doesn't work. This is a reason that way more than half of people are obese in the US Right now. But here's what those influencers aren't telling you. The problem is not you. It's not your willpower. And it's not the wrong workout routine or working out not enough. It's that there's a three pound organ under your rib cage on the right side that's been sabotaging your metabolism for years. And until you fix it, nothing else will work. That organ is your liver. Think of your liver like the engine in your car. If your engine is clogged, it doesn't matter how good your gas is, your car won't run right. Your liver is like your body's engine and people's engines are completely jammed up. Your liver does more than 500 different jobs every single day. It's like having one employee trying to run an entire factory. It breaks down compounds in every bite of food you eat. It filters out and transforms every toxin you breathe or eat. And it controls every fat burning hormone in your body. But here's what most people don't know. Your liver is what turns your thyroid hormone into the active version that actually burns fat. No working liver means no working metabolism. Your liver also decides whether to store sugar as energy or to dump it into your fat cells. And it's the only thing that can remove excess hormones like estrogen and cortisol from your blood. These are the hormones that make you store belly fat. But here's the problem. Your liver is drowning. Every day, you hit it with more toxins than a city sewage plant. And just like A sewage plant. When it gets backed up, everything stops working. So how does your liver get so overloaded? Picture this. You drink moldy coffee from a plastic cup, eat lunch from a plastic container, breathe car exhaust, use scented hand soap, take Tylenol for a headache, and have wine with dinner that's just Tuesday. You'll have to process all of this in a few different phases. Step one breaks everything down into smaller pieces. But the problem is those smaller pieces are often more toxic than what you started with. It's like breaking glass into tiny shards. Now you have something even more dangerous that your liver has to further process. Step two is supposed to wrap up those toxic pieces and ship them out through your poop and pee. These processes require special materials to work, like vitamins and minerals. But most of us are running on empty, and we don't have enough of those raw materials. When either of those phases can't keep up, those toxins get stuck in your body. And your body has to put them somewhere safe. So it locks them away in the only place it can, your fat cells. That's why you can eat perfectly and still gain weight. That's why it was happening to me. Your body isn't storing fat because you ate too much. It's storing fat to protect you from poison. This is why you feel tired after meals. You get skin breakouts. You have mood swings. And you can't lose that stubborn belly fat no matter what you try. You're not broken. You're just backed up. And all you need to do is unblock your liver. Now you understand why people stay fat. Even when they follow a strict diet. The liver can't process toxins properly. But here's why. Liver cleanses and detox diets don't often work. They're only addressing one part of the problem. If either of those liver detox stages aren't working, your system will just reabsorb the toxins. First of all, you need to make sure you're getting enough vitamins and minerals. You may also need extra support with three specific supplements. Call them the three Glutathione, glycine, and calcium. D glucarate. These supplements support all phases of liver detox. The next step you need to pay attention to involves a green liquid that most people haven't heard of. It's called bile. And it's another one of the missing pieces that explain why most detox programs fail. Bile sounds disgusting, and kind of it is, but. But without bile flowing properly, you can't digest the fats you eat. And if you can't digest fats. You can't absorb nutrients. And the undigested fat brings toxins into your bloodstream that cause inflammation and cause obesity. Instead, you want to be able to break fats down so you can use them as building blocks and as energy. Think of bile as your body's dish soap for the fats in your food. Just like soap breaks up grease on dishes, bile breaks up the fats you eat. So your body can actually use them to make healthy cells instead of stor storing them as body fat. But bile is also your body's main garbage truck for getting rid of toxins and old hormones. Your body packages these waste products into bile, and it dumps them out through your poop. When your bile doesn't flow, that toxic waste gets stuck in your system. Your liver makes about 1 liter of bile every day. It's like a small coffee pot, but it needs somewhere to store it, and that's where the gallbladder comes in. Your gallbladder is like a little storage tank that concentrates bile and holds it until you need it. This little organ sits under your right ribcage, about the size of a large grape. When you eat fat, your gallbladder gets a signal to squeeze and release bile into your small intestine. Right now, you can reach under your right ribs and you can press gently. That's where your liver lives and where your gallbladder lives. And it works every time you eat. But here's what's happening to most people. Your bile is turning thick and sluggish. If you eat too many processed oils. You have chronic stress. You're lacking nutrients. Your bile flow becomes like sticky molasses instead of water. And when bile moves slowly, fat digestion suffers. When you don't have good bile flow, your body starts sending clear warning signals. You feel heavy and bloated after eating fatty foods. You might even have fat in your stool. That happens because your body can't properly break down the fats you just ate. You get irregular bowel movements. They're hard, difficult to pass stools or pale, floaty stools that don't look normal. Healthy bile makes stools brown and well formed. You get a dull ache or tightness under your right ribs, especially after larger meals. That's your liver or gallbladder. You feel tired after eating, and you notice more skin breakouts. Liver gallbladder. This happens because toxins that exit through bile are getting reabsorbed into your bloodstream. The solution is to get your bile moving again. And you can do this with bitter foods like dandelion greens, arugula, and radicchio. These naturally stimulate your gallbladder to contract and release bile. You can also add lemon to your water. That helps to thin bile so it flows more easily. And surprisingly, eating healthy fats like some olive oil, avocado, and fish actually help by stimulating fresh bile production. Oh, and so does butter. When bile flows properly again, you'll digest fats better. That creates the foundation for better metabolism and easier fat loss. Now, bile doesn't just remove environmental toxins like plastics and chemicals. It also removes something even more dangerous. The hormones. Your own body makes. Things like testosterone that is converted into estrogen or even xenoestrogens, synthetics made by humans, or even mold toxins that. That look like estrogens. It's your liver's job to get rid of those. And when your bile can't flush out those old hormones and toxins, they start sending fat storage signals 24 7. So when you gain weight, you probably think it's stress or you're getting older. But it might be your hormones stuck in your system. Your liver's like a security guard that's supposed to escort old hormones like estrogen out of the building. But right now, the guard is overwhelmed, and everyone's just wandering around, causing trouble. Your liver has to process every single hormone in your body. Stress hormones, sex hormones, even insulin. When your liver is healthy, it cleans up and ships out hormones quickly. And when it's overloaded, old hormones start piling up like garbage, and they circulate through your body like bad house guests who won't leave. And they send signals to store fat, to lower your energy or to mess with your mood. And the worst of all these. It's estrogen buildup. You're getting estrogen from plastic containers, scented products, those dumb little pine trees in your Uber, Even your own fat cells. When your liver can't keep up, estrogen accumulates and causes a mess, like dirty dishes in your sink. When estrogen builds up, you store fat in frustrating places. Hips, thighs, lower belly, or the worst of all for me, man boobs. Even men will get soft around the chest. Our love handles will grow because leftover estrogen sends a fat storage signal. And then there's cortisol, your stress hormone. When your liver can't clear cortisol fast enough, you stay wired, but tired. You crave sugar. You're storing belly fat like your body thinks you're in constant danger. The real solution is to help your liver do its cleanup job again. When your liver works properly. It cleans up excess estrogen so you stop storing fat in weird places. It processes stress hormones. You can actually relax. You can speed this up by eating liver supporting vegetables. Cauliflower and brussels sprouts, if you tolerate them, contain special compounds called glucosinolates and those help to neutralize and eliminate excess estrogen from your body. Your liver also needs specific nutrients to package hormones for removal. You must have the right B vitamins, choline and an amino acid called glycine. The detox process doesn't work without those, and you want to stop poisoning your liver with seed oils and synthetic fragrances. These are two of the most common things that overwhelm your liver's detox capacity and keep you slow storing fat. Every day you ignore your liver health. The damage compounds, toxins build up, hormones go nuts and fat loss becomes harder. But every day you support your liver, you reverse years of metabolic damage. So start with one simple change. Cut out seed oils and add bitter greens to your meals. Specifically, arugula is the best choice. You can add in vitamins, minerals and the three GS, especially calcium, D glucarate and glutathione. Your liver will thank you, your energy will soar and your body will finally start working with you instead of against you. The choice is yours. Keep fighting your metabolism or start fixing it. Dietary Shifts:
Notable Quote:
“When bile flows properly again, you’ll digest fats better. That creates the foundation for better metabolism and easier fat loss.”
— Dave Asprey [09:25]
Hormone Cleanup:
Bile removes old or excess hormones that drive fat storage (estrogen, cortisol); sluggish bile leads to hormone recycling and stubborn fat.
Estrogen Buildup:
From environmental sources (plastics, fragrances) and own fat cells—liver can't keep up, leading to fat gain in specific areas (hips, thighs, belly, “man boobs” in men).
Cortisol Overload:
Poor clearance leaves you “wired but tired” and craving sugar.
Analogy:
“Your liver’s like a security guard that’s supposed to escort old hormones like estrogen out of the building. But right now, the guard is overwhelmed, and everyone’s just wandering around, causing trouble.”
