By now, you guys have probably seen this incredibly viral moment from this week's Oxford Union debate over Islam versus Western civilization. But honestly, we moved on from this way too quickly, and it deserves a deeper look in terms of just how far Islamic extremism has indeed infiltrated the West. Not just the United Kingdom, but maybe your own backyard. In case you missed it, in the last couple of days, a group of young men who are not Oxford students were invited to come to the Oxford Union Debate Society to go back and forth with existing Oxford University students, most of whom were Muslim, about whether they believed Islam was remotely compatible with the Society of the United Kingdom. Spoiler alert, the men argued. No, it's not. One moment in this exchange went incredibly viral where a student dressed to the nines in black tie essentially threatens one of her opposing debaters with violence to the point of death. Watch this.

Perhaps tonight's motion is less about the West's relationship with Islam and more about yours, Stephen Yaxley. Lenin, known to his hooligans as Tommy Robinson. Stephen, there is a crowd outside rioting against you tonight, and without the protection and generosity of a Muslim Palestinian president and a mostly South Asian executive committee, you would be quite literally cooked.

In other words, loose translation. You better thank your lucky stars for the security forces that we have installed to protect the inside of this building. Because outside of this building, everyone who shares my religion, my worldview, and my opinions on Islam would probably violently beat you to death, said smugly with a smile, followed by a thunderous round of applause. This blew up the Internet. But then we all moved on really quickly this week to talking about the price of a burrito on social media, and I think it deserves a little bit more scrutiny. The optics alone of this moment prove the exact point of why the debate is happening in the first place. Here you have people dressed to the nines in black tie with classy strings of pearls around their necks in a hallowed revered hall at one of the most prestigious universities in the history of the planet, representing the Oxford Union Debate Society, the hallmark pinnacle of the free exchange of ideas within the United Kingdom. I mean, nothing gets more quintessential British culture than that. And instead of the peaceful free exchange of ideas, what debating is supposed to be all about usurping the need for primal violence and appealing to reason instead of our fists. Here you have this young woman standing smugly admitting, yeah, but my side would prefer the violence anyway. Probably. Does that not just prove the point entirely about the compatibility of Islam versus the West? As I mentioned, there were multiple debaters arguing on behalf of and in defense of British culture. And another moment went similarly viral with one of the debaters threatening to show a cartoon image of the Prophet Muhammad which is forbidden in Islam. As he prepares to pull this cartoon image out of a manila file folder, you can see the Oxford Union students scramble to institute any rule change whatsoever to prohibit the showing of this image and to silence their opponent in the process.

Most important to me, and most important to me is the free speech of this. So let's get this out, shall we? 78% of British Muslims believe that no publication should publish pictures of Muhammad. An overwhelming majority. That rises. That rises to 87%. That's one. That's nine out of every 10 Muslims that are walking the streets today. In a country which absolutely abandoned blasphemy laws, suspicion is not strong enough word. The west should resist Islam in the strongest terms on free speech grounds alone. So here we are with this cartoon, right? And it's time to show that I will not submit. I will not adhere to the religious laws of far off places. Now, my wife asked me not to show this for fear of repercussions in my family. But I told her that if I did not, then I had already submitted to Islam. So here we are.

Is it not enough that half the team that invited you to this debate or Muslim women who wanted to hear out your expression and your arguments, Is it not enough that I, as a Muslim president, have invited you to this chamber to give your arguments? Incredible like genius concept to bring into this debate. Because the truth is the image in the envelope was not an image or a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad. It was the idea of one. And you saw the fear. You could feel the palpable tension in that room the minute you even suggested on the grounds of free speech, which is what this exchange is supposed to be all about. I'm going to do something that might cause offense to the other people in the room because I have the right to do so in the free exchange of ideas. Oh no, that's not the rules. We model ourselves off to the House of Commons. Haven't you heard? Meanwhile the House of Commons is like a frickin ruckus every single time you're there.

He claims that he and his fellow debaters needed a security team in order to remotely attend they were spat at, they were bullied, and they were heckled by a mob. But they refused to give up on free speech and refused to stop sounding the alarm over what Islamic extremism has already done to the United Kingdom. It was a risky thing to do. And for the record, this is what real bravery looks like. We have to start being proactive about the fight against these threats of evil. Tomorrow.

But if you had to guess, in a single year, 2023, for example, how many people were thrown in prison and arrested for social media posts over stuff like the threat of radical Islam? How many? Would you guess? 100? 200? In 2023 alone, there were more than 12,000 arrests over free speech violations for offensive hate speech and mean words on Facebook, comments and retweets. In the United Kingdom alone that year, the UK arrested more people for social media posts than any other country on Earth. More than Iran, more than Syria, more than Azerbaijan or Saudi Arabia. The UK Interestingly enough, we had Tommy Robins, the object of that first insult at the Oxford Union, on our show back in February. And what he had to say about the normalization of violence against British citizens was harrowing, especially against innocent women and children. He claims that the UK has allowed for the rape of an entire generation silently because no one wanted to be called a racist. When you look at the numbers, it's pretty hard to argue with that. In Scotland alone last year, there was a 15% rise in rape and attempted rape in just Scotland. And the official statistics show that sexual crimes increased to their highest rate since the 1970s. So tell your wives and girlfriends and sisters and nieces and grandmothers that this isn't a direct threat that is impacting their day to day life in the most disgusting way possible. But this is not isolated to the United Kingdom either. There is an undoubtedly growing threat of Islamic extremism across the entirety of Western civilization. You guys know this because you live through it every single day. But I don't know about you, at least to me, it seems to be getting much, much louder and more intense right now. In 2026, in the last few weeks, in the span of three days, after a very public speech by New York City's first Muslim mayor, Zoran Mamdani, a Muslim man stabbed a Jew in open broad daylight after screaming Allah au Akbar. In Paris, three different women were stabbed, including a pregnant woman by a man who claimed Allah ordered me to do it. And at the Berlin Pride parade again in the span of three days, a car rammed into massive crowds of people by, you guessed it, an Islamic extremist named Abdul. And yet our suicidal toxic empathy where we think you're being more compassionate by just allowing the normalization of violence because it's from another culture, was so glaring in the face of those three attacks within the span of three days. In Germany, for example, the organizers of Berlin's Gay Pride parade ended up doing a press conference after the terror attack took place that threatened the lives of dozens of people in which they ask very kindly that the media not politicize the identity of the terrorist.

As the CSD organizers in Berlin we distraught about what happened yesterday. Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones and everybody who has been affected by this terrible event. What we need now, we believe, is to take a measured approach to support everyone affected. We will not get involved with any speculation. We will wait for the result of the police investigation. Our basic approach has not changed. We reject all forms of violence. Ideologies, be they religious or other extremists are trying to suppress people. We do not want this deed to be instrumentalized for political end. We don't Want any groups to be placed under suspicion for this. People are trying to divide our society and set some people against others. As a CSD in Berlin, we will not allow this.

Can someone say suicidal empathy? Newsflash, someone already did. Politicize this tragedy in order to create systematic change. The radical Islamic terrorist that drove a car through dozens of people, threatening their lives and ending the lives of others. But we have been so conditioned to just be nice, to not upset the apple cart, to not say anything remotely offensive, that it will ultimately lead to the downfall and complete eradication of our legitimately tolerant cultures. Looking back at the United Kingdom, it was CS Lewis who famously warned us that being nice was not the same thing as being good. He argued that being nice was just a product of a comfortable life. It costs you nothing to be nice, ultimately. But real goodness requires moral conviction, sacrifice, courage, and an unyielding commitment to the truth, even if that may risk offending people or making others uncomfortable in the process. Even more importantly, CS Lewis believed that being nice was actually quite dangerous for society, at least when applied to the masses, because superficial niceness actually blinds us to real flaws that have the threat to destroy goodness. He, like every great theologian, because it stems from the ultimate truth of God, believed that real love for another person is to will the good of that person, not to accept evil, to just be agreeable with those around you. And yet, niceness and polite behavior is what has driven the UK today to say it should be forbidden, maybe even illegal, to fly your own flag, the Union Jack, because it might offend some people to display national patriotism and national identity. But Islamic extremists can ride horseback through the streets of Manchester, England, waving black Islamic flags. Because that's not offensive, I guess. Or if it is offensive to you, then you're the problem, not the people trying to take over your entire society. And lest it be confusing at all, none of this is even isolated to Europe either. Islamic extremism is on the rise across the United States, whether we want to comfortably talk about it or not, down to literal terrorist sympathizers and those claiming that America deserved 911 running for Congress in places like Colorado in the case of Melat Kiros, or Michigan in the case of Abdul Al Said, who might become the next senator for the state of Michigan. Just a few weeks ago, Zoran Mamdani, the first Muslim elected mayor of New York City, spoke at a mosque in the city and then stayed for prayer services, during which the imam openly prayed for the killing of the infidels by the sword in New York City. This mosque, by the way, does have previous ties to Iran financially, so. So that's nice. As the mayor of New York sits there and listens to this, it's really hard for me to imagine prayer in a house of worship being circulated around the killing of the infidels and wishing for death for the people in your community. For me, prayer is something much, much more meaningful, tying us to the Almighty, loving, compassionate God of the universe. Nah, we're making cute tiktoks about how fun it is for hot girls to vote for Muslim men for public office. Beautiful day to vote for all women and a Muslim. You know, it just never ceases to amaze me that liberal women will scream about the Handmaid's Tale for years. They'll dress up in the costume, they will protest to the nines in city streets across our country about the Handmaid's Tale, and then they will literally vote for Evan Sharia law. Cool.
