Hi, I'm in work clothes today. To borrow the phrase from Buddy the Elf I didn't recognize. You know, I'm in work clothes. I have some very exciting meetings here in Washington D.C. but I'll tell you who I'm not meeting with today. As much as I would like to Representative Maria Salazar, who is like public enemy number one on Capitol Hill, I guess because she had the audacity to introduce as a Republican in Congress a a mass amnesty bill for what she's saying could be up to 10 million illegal immigrants under the name of dignity. If you guys were around for the show yesterday, we talked about this highly controversial new dignidad bill. I feel like I need the spongebob rainbow Digni DOD for everyone. Just an extra fun little aside that it's all in Spanish that the Republicans that are supporting this legislation are saying is really just about restoring human dignity to people living in America illegally. But let's face it, is actually just a blanket mass amnesty bill. And the more I read through the 261 pages of this wildly complicated legislation that's supposed to be about securing the border. I hate this town sometimes. The more I realize that there are members of our United States government committing just ultimate betrayal to the mandate that was delivered to them by the American people to hold on to what their own version or illusion of, of political power. It's disgusting, it's nauseating, but sadly not unexpected coming out of Washington, D.C. again, we talked all about this yesterday on the show and we broke down all of the details of why this bill is so complicated. So highly encourage you to go back and watch that. Not for the least of which is that this would open up the possibility for every single illegal immigrant who has already been deported since 2017 to reapply to come back to America under permanent residency status and because of their dignity status is what we're calling it, just bonkers crazy stuff. But if you're anything like me, you've probably seen a whole lot about this out on social media. You're confused what to actually know about this bill. What's really going on? Are members of Congress actually supporting this? Especially Republican conservative members of Congress? Yes. Yes, they are. Last night I had a chance to snag a few minutes with a friend of mine who is one of the only sane people holding down the fort on Capitol Hill. When I'm scrolling through TikTok and and I see more young members of Congress not taking any crap from the people that have been there longer than twice the time we've been alive and certainly to those else in Washington with lots of power, like lobbyists and cabinet members and all the crazy stuff that try to push them around. So I would love to share with you everything Brandon has to say about this, but prepare to be frustrated because you should be. We are joined today by one of the only true good people on Capitol Hill, my friend, Congressman Brandon Gill. Brandon, thank you so much for being here today and for giving all of us a lifeline that we really needed back to sanity on social media in the wake of everything we're seeing in Washington this week. We covered yesterday on my show the Digni Dodd act that all of a sudden is getting random new attention, even though it was released into the public and put into the pipeline here to be passed as a bill last July. Can you give us an overview of why all of a sudden everybody's angry about this now and why we should be paying attention to it?
Congressman Brandon Gill
Yeah. First of all, Isabel, it's good to be here. Thanks for having me on the show. I think it's one of those things where bad ideas always get resurrected periodically and you've got to bat them down again. And that's what happened here. This is A bill that was introduced about a year ago, and what it is is basically it's an amnesty bill. It says that any illegal alien who came into the United States prior to Joe Biden can be given legal permanent status to stay in the United States. It also provides legal status for dreamers. These are children who came into the United States while they were children. Now, that would apply also to some pretty bad people who have come into the United States and committed crimes. It does a whole lot of other things. The bill also forgives some of the student loan debt that lawyers who represent illegal aliens have. It would allow the head of the Department of Homeland Security to bring back into the country illegal aliens, aliens who had previously been deported, if they meet certain conditions. You know, you can go on and on and on, but at core, this is an amnesty bill. And I think that that's particularly egregious right now to bring forward a bill like this, given the fact that we just won an election on this very issue saying that we are going to mass deport illegal aliens, we're gonna secure the border. Turning away from that the second we get power, I think is absolutely abominable. And that's why I've been p so hard to make sure that this bill never sees the light of day.
Isabel
You are one of the only ones being this vocal about it, but I'm grateful for it because honestly, as one of these voters that helped deliver the mandate, it honestly feels like betrayal from so many of our elected officials in Washington, D.C. who ran on so many of these things. We wanted mass deportations. We wanted voter ID and to secure our elections, have confidence that it is American citizens electing who the. The people are in Washington that are representing us. And so many other aspects of the mandate that now kind of just feel like they've been thrown out the window. And yet you are kind of on the receiving end of a lot of these attacks from your colleagues in Congress as this radical who's frustrated that this betrayal has taken place. Why do you think that is?
Congressman Brandon Gill
Well, you know, I think that, you know, there's still some people in our party who really are not. Not up for what. What the President ran on, who maybe don't understand the President, don't understand the mag, or in many ways, the younger generation who looks at the country and says that I'm losing my country. The country that my parents and grandparents grew up in just doesn't exist anymore. And one of the reasons for that is infinity immigration. It's mass migration. We have completely transformed American communities. Across the country, you see, you see how that impacts working class wages, the economic prospects for young people. I mean, immigration, just to use that as sort of. I think one of the key drivers of this is something that impacts every single part of American life. Whenever you go to the hospital and your lines are very long because there's illegal aliens there, or you have to pay more because you're subsidizing health care for illegal aliens, or you send your children to school and they can't get a good public education because your school is filled with illegal alien children who don't speak our language. You know, whenever you want basic social services and you expect the programs like Medicaid and Social Security are going to be viable long term. Part of the reason they're not is because we're subsidizing illegal aliens. I mean, it goes on and on and on, but at core, it's who we are as a country. And I think that there's still certain segments in our party who just don't recognize that, who don't recognize that, you know, we're not going to sell out our entire country for an extra 5 basis points of GDP growth, which seems to be the bargain that, that the sort of the libertarian wing in our party has made for a long time. We've got to move away from that. And that is what we ran on, by the way, to your point, we ran on a platform of deportations. And whenever you tell the American people that you're going to push mass deportations, you cannot turn around and introduce an amnesty bill. You know, that really is like two middle fingers to the people who voted us and elected us and got us a trifecta and got President Trump the popular vote. I mean, it's really a grotesque betrayal of everything we've been saying for years now.
Isabel
Back to it with Congressman Brandon Gill in a second. But first, you guys know better than most. The voices of our culture are so loud. But the truth is often silent. And that silence has a cost. Right now, women who are facing unexpected pregnancies are being just constantly bombarded with pressure and fear before they ever have a chance to pause, to breathe and. And to hear the truth about life and hope for their growing family. That's exactly why I'm standing with our friends at Preborn. At every Preborn Network clinic, a woman is welcomed with open arms, with compassion, and given a free ultrasound. In that sacred moment, she gets to see something she's never seen before. The life of the baby within her. Fear fades away. Clarity dawns and she is offered something that the abortion industry will never, ever give her, the hope of Jesus Christ. When I met my daughter on an ultrasound for the very first time ever at about 11 weeks old, it was the most magical experience I ever could have imagined. I got to count all of the little tiny bones in her fingers and toes. She waved at us through the screen. And even though I've always been pro life and I've always believed in protecting the most vulnerable people in our society, babies in the womb. It solidified the reality of that for me in a way that I never could have anticipated until I found myself in that moment. Every mom deserves the chance to meet her baby on an ultrasound. And when you go to a Planned Parenthood looking for answers, there's a reason that they don't show you the ultrasound of your baby on the screen. This April, Preborn is aiming to share that hope. With 11,000 gospel conversations happening in their clinics and ultrasounds right alongside them, you can help make that Happen. For just $28, you can sponsor one ultrasound to a mom in need. $140 provides five ultrasounds to moms in need. Every dollar saves lives and strengthens truth in a world that far too often denies it. The world may shout its lies, but we will not be silent. We can make a difference for generations to come. To donate, you can dial £250 and say the keyword baby. That's £250, baby. Or head to preborn.com/isabel. That is preborn.com/isabel. Honestly, it's shocking to me, too. The longer I've lived in Washington, the more I realize that what the right struggles to grasp is everything they think is going to make them unelectable. And the things that they need to avoid is actually what the American people are looking for. Like in this quest to retain political power and stay in Congress longer than twice the time our generation has been alive. And they're so afraid of governing on offense and unapologetically conserving American culture as a conservative. And then, ironically, they'll probably lose political support over that and lose their seat in Congress as a result. Why do you think that's not connecting? Why are the dots so difficult to draw the line between here and what message does the Republican Party really need to hear about this new generation of conservative enthusiasm with young voters under 40 across the country?
Congressman Brandon Gill
Yeah, I mean, you framed it really well there. I think that you've got a group of people in Washington who are in just a Washington bubble. Remember, D.C. is very different than the rest of the country, it really is kind of its own ecosystem, has its own vernacular, it has its own priorities that are very. In ways of viewing the world that are very different than what you'll see in Texas or in middle America or anywhere else. And once you spend a lot of time there, I can see how it would be easy to get sucked into that, to not spend enough time in your district, not spend enough time talking to Americans who don't live in Washington. The people that you run around in Washington tend to be people who represent other interests, who tend to be commercial interests. In the context of immigration, that means these are people who. Who are pushing for amnesty because they want cheap labor.
Isabel
Yeah.
Congressman Brandon Gill
So you have to have a broader perspective. But you're exactly right. You know, as an elected official, you gotta remember, you represent your people in your district. You represent the American people, not Washington, D.C. and it should be obvious by now, to your point. President Trump came onto the scene in 2015. That's over 10 years ago now. And whenever he came, he started talking about building a wall. And people from across, on both sides of the political aisle were saying, this guy is racist, he's uncouth. I don't like what he's saying. I can't believe anybody would be able to get elected by saying that we should build a wall and secure our border. And yet the American people overwhelmingly elected President Trump in 2016. The Republican base was fired up and enthused in a way they had never had been, at least in my lifetime. And yet you still have some people in our party who don't understand that movement. They don't understand how the working class views the past ten years of America's political trajectory and that they want their country back. And that's a problem. And the Republican Party is not going to survive long term if we continue trying to rehash and regurgitate the same big government, big business, pro mass migration policies that we pushed in the years before President Trump.
Isabel
You said really powerfully there that some of these people in Congress seem to just really want mass amnesty. They want mass migration. They want to dramatically change the fabric of American society. In researching the Digny Dodd Act, I love that it's in Spanish also, which is just an extra layer of all of this, for sure. I came across a tweet from our friend Charlie Kirk last year talking about Representative Salazar's bill, which again, was introduced almost a year ago now, and saying on the record, on video, that ultimately the biggest goal should be to keep as many illegal immigrants in the country so that ultimately you can just give them mass amnesty. I have that for you and would love to get your reaction on the other side of it.
Unknown Legislator
We give them dignity. At some point in the future, another legislator will write another law to give them path to citizenship. Right now what we need to do is to buy peace for these people, allow them to stay to continue working because they are needed. You see, what I'm trying to do is to bring some common sense, which is the least common of all senses to this conversation. The economy needs them. They do not have a criminal record. They have not gone into trouble. They have been here for a long time. They have roots in the country. Let them stay. Don't give them any type of federal programs and allow them to pay taxes, help the Social Security fund and let them stay and contribute with the economy with no criminal record. What is wrong with that? We need them.
Isabel
Brandon, I'm confused. I thought illegal immigration was a crime, but maybe I don't understand the law. So you're a member of Congress. Can you explain it to us?
Congressman Brandon Gill
You know, you hear this, this rhetoric as if America was never able to even exist until we had massive throngs of illegal aliens pouring across our borders. Until then, we could never build homes, we could never pave our roads, we couldn't build infrastructure. We have to have infinity illegal aliens in order to create civilization in the United States. That's kind of the message that you've been, that we've been hearing for a long time. And you hear this rhetoric that, you know, these are jobs that Americans don't want to work. Well, you know what? Maybe a lot of Americans don't want to work in very difficult jobs when their wages are being suppressed because you're flooding the labor market with cheap illegal alien workers. Maybe that has something to do with it. You know, you also hear, and I think this is particularly rich right now. We hear all kinds of talk of AI and how it's going to take away jobs. And then you have representatives who want to then turn around and flood our country with even more workers that are going to be competing with even more Americans for scarce jobs. It makes no sense whatsoever except to benefit commercial interests in the United States in the short term. That is the driving factor behind all of this. The reality is that businesses do want cheap labor. They view, oftentimes, unfortunately, view people as labor inputs and not as people. And because of that, having an illegal alien who can work for half the wage is a lot more favorable to the bottom line than hiring an American. And that's a problem. And I think that's what she's speaking to in that clip there. But you do have a lot of people in Washington who genuinely want amnesty, and it's not only for the commercial reason, which we just sort of discussed here. I think that there's a lack of respect for American culture as well. There's a belief that Americans are interchangeable with anybody else across the globe, that you can take an American who's been in the United States for multiple generations in Ohio or in Dallas, Texas, and replace them with a Somali who just came in, who doesn't speak our language, who does not revere our heritage, who doesn't have any sort of religious connection to America at all, and yet they can become an American the second they step foot on magic American soil. It's absolutely asinine. But I think that what it is, is it's a lack of respect for our country and for our culture.
Isabel
It is. Maybe someone should start asking and answering the question, what is an American? Because we sure do need an actual answer to that for our society. But also a lot of this rhetoric is just straight up racist. And I, I find some of the irony here just very difficult to swallow. When young people across the board who are frustrated with mass amnesty, who are frustrated with mass immigration, who voted for a mandate to dramatically change American politics In November of 2024, Washington seems to be labeling us young people xenophobic or racist or white supremacist because we are not in favor of unchecked infinity immigration, to borrow your term. And then they turn around and go on national television and say, oh, but who would pick the crops? Who would clean your toilet? Donald Trump? Who would put the roof on my house and do all the things that I think are. Are beneath me. It's literally, it is, who would pick your cotton? It's disgusting. And so how can we take advantage of this opportunity to really highlight the very gross rhetoric that is coming out of Washington about all of this and remind young people that you are not the crazy one if you want to preserve American culture?
Congressman Brandon Gill
Yeah, I mean, you know, American, we in America, we've always had this conception of a sort of a basic equality of dignity in the United States, meaning we don't bring people into the country for the sake of working jobs that some elitist in Washington thinks is beneath them. You know, the reality is that construction jobs are great ways to make a living. When my best friend in high school is a welder and makes a great living out in West Texas, Those are jobs that should be filled by Americans because it's in America and it is our obligation to fight for Americans and not for illegal aliens. So I think we've got to make that clear, that our priority is with our people. But it is incredibly racist and it's incredibly demeaning to America's working class to suggest that the jobs that they work in are too, are actually beneath Americans and are only worthy of being filled by this underclass of illegal aliens that the left and some Republicans want to bring into our country. I think we can be very straightforward, but it is, it's no different than the Democrat Party rhetoric from the 1860s is who's going to pick our cotton? How is our economy going to survive if we don't have this underclaimed class of cheap labor coming from Mexico or Latin America?
Isabel
Brandon, I'm curious, in our last couple minutes together, can you give our generation a message of hope and encouragement and excitement of how we can continue pushing for the mandate to be delivered? How can we kill this particular piece of legislation but also give a much needed kick in the butt to Washington to realize the government is supposed to serve the American people, not the other way around? And here's how you're supposed to do it.
Congressman Brandon Gill
Yeah, this is a piece of legislation that everybody should be aware of, and I am fighting like crazy to make sure that it never even comes up for a vote on the House floor. So talk to your representative about it if they're, if they're, if you're not sure how they would vote if this were brought for a vote on the floor. But I think that the party is moving, albeit too slowly, but it is moving in the direction of fighting for America's working class, which also means fighting for a younger generation and recognizing that the interests of your Gen Z and your Zoomers in some ways are different from the economic interests of the boomers. Gen Z and Zoomers don't tend to have massive stock portfolios that benefit from cheap labor like the older generations do. They don't tend to benefit and use the consumer goods that are in some of the consumer services that are subsidized by depressing working class wages by replacing our jobs and reducing our wages. So there is a difference in interest here. And I think that the Republican Party won last cycle in large part because we spoke to those interests. We spoke to the American people and the younger generations directly and said unabashedly that we're going to stop mass migration, we're going to secure the border, we're actually going to look out for you and not just corporate interests. And that resonates with the people. And I think that if we stick with that message, Republicans will win. But if we betray our voters like this Dignity act does, which again is an absolute abomination, I think it will be unforgivable. It will be absolutely unforgivable. And we'll be dealing with this a decade from now. So make sure that the Republicans in office understand what the stakes are, because the stakes are extremely high right now. And this is not something that we can mess up.
Isabel
Yeah, call your representatives. I know that sounds silly, but they do actually make a log every single time you call and they do pay attention to these things. I used to be the intern answering the phone for one of those Senate offices years ago. And just make sure that you stay active. You know, this week JD Vance, our vice president, said while in Hungary that there should be no room for true black pilling over any of this stuff. Right. The real way to effectuate change is to lean in harder, to take on more of responsibility in a leadership role and to get a whole lot louder about the things that we are passionate about. So, my friend, I'm very grateful for you doing that on the floor of the House of Representatives. Where can people make sure that they're keeping up with all of the incredible work that you are doing as well?
Congressman Brandon Gill
Well, thank you. We're all over social media at repbrandingill, on Instagram and Facebook and X Twitter, so you can find me there.
Isabel
I always love the clips of the hearings where you really pull the receipts out. Brandon, you always have the greatest questions for people. It's always a pleasure to watch and just a joy to call you and your beautiful family friends of ours. So thank you so much.
Congressman Brandon Gill
Thanks Isabelle. Appreciate it.
Isabel
Off to jet to my important meeting about all things Maha. I'll fill you in on that a little bit later. But do something about this. Right? Part of the thing that I loved that came out of all of the frustration from this bill picking up new traction again, which they are specifically doing today because they're hoping that everyone's going to be paying attention to Iran and all of the doom and gloom, insane panic and stuff going on all over the world. Understandably so. That's where our media is spending all of their time. They are doing this under the COVID of darkness because they are banking on the fact that you are not going to pay attention in the midst of all of that. People are smarter than they give them credit for. Of course we're paying attention to it and the American people are saying no, not never. There can be no room for mass amnesty if we are serious about securing our border and securing our United States of America. But President or Vice President, I should say hopefully I can say President here in the Future. Vice President J.D. vance had the opportunity to warn the world. No black pilling. Have courage, have faith, have hope in the midst of everyone telling you to just throw in your cards and leave the game. Instead, you should get more involved in the game. Take on bigger leadership roles. Make your voice louder, call people more. Make sure our elected officials understand exactly where you're coming from and exactly what it's going to take to serve you. Because our government was set up to be a government of the people, by the people, for the people. They work for you, not the other way around. So as frustrating as this legislation is, I agree with our Vice President. No black pilling. Instead, do everything you can today to light up the members of Congress that are publicly supporting this piece of legislation. Call their offices, write them a letter. Show up at their offices because they have a district office in your backyard. And together, let's just say generationally, we are done with Congress selling out the United States of America to make a quick buck off of illegal immigrants.

Episode Date: April 9, 2026
Host: Isabel Brown (The Daily Wire)
Guest: Congressman Brandon Gill
This episode dives deep into the controversial "Dignity Act," spearheaded by Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL), which has reignited debate in Washington and among conservative voters. Isabel Brown is joined by Congressman Brandon Gill, one of the most outspoken critics of the bill, to examine its real implications, why many see it as a mass amnesty measure, and why its resurgence is seen as a betrayal of recent electoral promises for strong border enforcement and mass deportation.
[04:31] Isabel asks Congressman Gill why the bill—a year old—is back in the spotlight and causing outrage.
[06:10 – 07:00] Isabel and Gill express frustration at Republicans supporting the bill, describing it as a betrayal of campaign promises.
[12:03] Isabel questions why many GOP lawmakers avoid strong stances on immigration, despite voter enthusiasm for such policies.
[14:18 – 16:00] Isabel plays a clip of a legislator arguing for “bringing peace” by allowing undocumented immigrants to stay for economic reasons. Gill vehemently rebuts.
[18:27] Isabel points out the irony and racism in Beltway claims that only immigrants will do “undesirable” jobs.
[21:21] Isabel asks for a hopeful message to younger voters on fighting the Dignity Act and delivering on their political “mandate.”
On the nature of the Dignity Act:
On Washington's priorities:
On the real cost of mass migration:
On Beltway culture:
On the supposed economic need for mass immigration:
On accusations of racism and working-class dignity:
Encouragement for activism:
This episode presents a strongly critical view of the Dignity Act, framing it as a direct betrayal of Republican campaign promises and an existential threat to traditional American culture and economic prospects for younger citizens. Congressman Brandon Gill urges young voters to remain vigilant and active, warning that grassroots pressure is essential to prevent what he describes as “unforgivable” legislative and cultural losses.
The tone throughout is urgent, passionate, and deeply skeptical of both Washington elites and the business lobby, with both Isabel and Gill encouraging listeners to get directly involved in the fight against mass amnesty and to demand their representatives honor the mandate given to them.
