DEEP SLEEP@8sleep.com Finally, Matt Walsh has sounded off against Candace Owens and it was brilliant. We break down the best moments and why he's absolutely correct. And at the same time as Matt Walsh coming out against Candace Owens, Michael Knowles is flip flopping. It is bad. We will talk all about it. Finally, stick around to the end because we're reviewing episode one of Candace's appalling and fraudulent Erica Kirk series and I have a massive announcement that has to do with Candace Owens that you do not want to miss. So the Daily Wire hosts are kind of on Candace Owens right now. Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles came out both with conflicting videos this week on Candace. Matt Walsh got it right. Michael Knowles got it wrong. So let's start with Michael Knowles. Here he is in his hotel room at the State of the Union telling me that I should stop talking about Candace Owens because it's hurting the conservative movement. Take a look.
Michael Knowles
Rhetorical oratorical lessons from President Trump that many Republicans can learn from. This is one that I hope right wing influencers pay close attention to because I've noticed it in recent days, recent weeks. I want to be charitable about this because I think it comes from a normal part of human nature. But it's worth paying attention to. It's worth learning good oratorical lessons from the president here. Some right wing influencers seem to think that the best way to honor Charlie's legacy is and to support Erica and the family is to spend all of their time talking about the people criticizing and antagonizing Erica and Charlie's friends and family. Does that make a lot of sense to you? There are people who seem to think the best way to honor Erica and tpusa and Charlie is to focus all of the attention all the time on the relatively few people who are criticizing and antagonist. The most famous of course, being Candace, who I guess has a new series about Erica, but some other people too. Some smaller accounts as well. This theory, this strategy seems to be a little bit misguided, wouldn't you say? Whether you love Candace, whether you hate Candace, whether you think Candace is sincere, whether you think she's insincere, whether you Whatever psychobabble analysis you have.
Josh Carr
No, I don't think it's misguided. I do not ever think that defending good people or being basically slandered is ever misguided. What I do think is misguided, though, is being too afraid to take a stand. And I've gotta say, I really like Michael Knowles. I think he's a great host. But I am so confused on this one right now because earlier this week I played a clip of him talking about how there are demons trying to distract the right and pull us apart. I fully believed when he said that that was his way of talking about Candace Owens without directly saying her name. Because as we'll talk about, he is part of their family to a certain degree. Because who else, I don't know who else is tearing the right apart. It's, I guess Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, sure. But it's kind of one in the same. They're part of this little grifter group there. I don't know who else he'd be talking about, but now it seems he was not talking about her at all. And I have to say, him bringing President Trump into this is very tone deaf. What he's saying is that we all ought to be more like President Trump, that President Trump has created this great coalition of conservatives and people all over to get political things done. And I have to say that is such a stupid thing for Michael Knowles to say, because Michael Knowles is a political commentator and by proxy, to a certain degree, he's a journalist. President Trump is a politician. Those are two fundamentally different things. And the reason why earlier I pointed out that he's in a hotel room at the State of the Union is because maybe what Michael Knowles wants is to stop being a political commentator. Maybe he thinks of himself more as a politician. Now, if you want to be a politician, go ahead and create your diverse coalition. That's totally fine. And I don't fault Donald Trump for doing that. But if you're a political commentator, especially a Christian one, you tell the truth. It does not matter if it hurts the coalition. You tell the truth every time. I think he needs to remember his role. Now, before we get back to Matt Walsh, who has a very opposite view of Michael Knowles, I will give Michael some grace on this. He is Candace's kid's godfather, if you didn't know. I understand that that comes with responsibilities and a closeness. I understand that it would be difficult to call her out by name, but I see no reason why he can't come out and say that Candace should quit what she's doing. He doesn't have to call her satanic like I have, I guess, is what I'm trying to say. I've got no connection to Candace, and so I can say some pretty harsh things about her that I think. I don't think Michael needs to go that far. But. But I think it is still moral cowardice not to call out bad behavior and lies, even if it's coming from your own family. In fact, I'll go one further on that. I think that you should do it, especially because they're part of your family. I think when your family does bad things, you of all people have the responsibility to put them back on track. Matt Walsh has finally stood up to the witch. Finally. And the best part of this episode on Candace and Erica is not that he was ruthless with Candace because that really wasn't the case. He was not mean in any sense. The best part was that he was crystal clear. Take a look.
Matt Walsh
His attacks on Erica, by Candace and by everyone else engaged in this campaign are wrong. Deeply, desperately wrong. Wrong morally and factually. They are wrong morally because they are wrong factually. The whole crux of the matter here is not just that Erica is a grieving widow, but that she is innocent of the accusations that are being made or implied against her. The point is not that, hey, Erica may have killed her husband or been involved in it or covered it up, but we should take it easy on her because she's a grieving widow. The point is that Erica didn't do any of that. There is no evidence that she did any of that. No evidence at all, period. Defaming anybody with untrue accusations is very bad. But defaming a widow, the grieving wife of a man that we all say we loved and admired, is unspeakably, horrifically bad.

Finally, finally. And there's a lot more where that came from. And I'll show you right off the get go. Matt perfectly lays out the counter to Michael Null's argument, which is that it's very easy to say that we shouldn't defend Erica when it's us. When we're all sitting in our homes with our families, it's very easy to say, hey, just let them work out their beef, the beef that Candace started that Erica doesn't even want any part of. But imagine what it must be like for her. And because of that, we must defend her.
Matt Walsh
And every night since that day, while I am happily at home with my family and Candace is with hers, Erica is home with two children who are suffering a trauma that they're far too young to process. And while she carries a grief that most of us can't comprehend, and all the while she is gleefully ripped to pieces by hordes of people who cannot muster even the faintest shred of sympathy for her.
Josh Carr
And I agree. That's why I feel compelled to stand for Erica. It is super easy for me or Michael Knowles or Megyn Kelly to keep going on our shows, making money by talking about the news every day. But while we do that, other people are making money off of lying about a widow. And I'm not okay with that. And they shouldn't either. One of the best sections of Matt Walsh's episode is when he started tearing into the so called evidence that Candace uses. He points out that anyone who believes dreams and anonymous sources are worth anything don't understand how a republic functions.
Matt Walsh
The innuendos about Erica may be compelling fodder for YouTube videos. They would not be compelling to a grand jury or a prosecutor or a judge. If you took everything that's been said about Erica or implied and tried to present it as evidence in a court of law, you would be laughed out of the room. There's no case here. There's no evidence of anything. Instead, we were given a demonstration as to why courtrooms have rules of evidence. In particular, she demonstrated why evidence has to be relevant before it's presented to a jury. Otherwise you get a barrage of irrelevant details, all with vague insinuations of guilt that don't actually mean anything. For 50 minutes, Candace delved into the backstory of Erica's family, pointing out that, for example, some of them were involved in gambling. There seems to be the vague suggestion that these details are sinister, but it was never explained why. And even if they are, even if Erica comes from a weird family or a bad family, and I have no reason to think that that's the case, it wouldn't prove anything relevant about Erica herself. You could tell me that Erica's mother was a serial killer and her father was a terrorist, and it wouldn't move us one inch in the direction of proving that Erica has done anything wrong.
Josh Carr
In addition to those points, one of the greatest things that Matt points out in there is that much of the evidence that Candace Owens uses for her show is from Erica Kirk's own testimonies from TV shows or in public statements. And so the question then is if Erica Kirk was part of a huge cover up, why would she just give all this information and evidence freely? Of course she wouldn't do that. And Candace Owens knows that. She just takes something Erica Kirk says and micro analyzes it and acts like it's evidence. In reality, it's not evidence of anything. It's something Erica Kurt said on live TV because she's innocent and Candace knows that. Finally, to bring us home, guys, Matt Walsh tells everyone who Candace Owens and her fans are in the clearest terms possible.
Matt Walsh
Even if you don't like how she acts, the pants she wears, her facial expressions, anything else, you have no actual evidence based reason to think that she is guilty of committing any crime. And if she isn't guilty of a crime, then all you're doing is nitpicking a widow which is every bit like critiquing the color of somebody's nail polish while you watch them drown in the ocean and make no attempt to help. Yes, maybe she made an odd choice of nail polish that day. She's also drowning and that would seem to be the more salient fact. And it's interesting to me to note that Tyler Robinson is not subjected to even a fraction of the public scrutiny. Even though all of the evidence, literally all of the evidence points to him. There is no evidence connecting Erica to the crime. All of it, all of the evidence we do have, every bit of it connects Tyler Robinson to it. And yet for some reason he's not the subject of public scorn. Instead it all goes to the widow of the man he killed.
Josh Carr
And this is the other side of how sinister Candace Owens agenda is. Not only is she baselessly attacking a widow, but she is also defending a leftist killer. Jack Posobiek, political commentator at TP usa, has also come out. Finally. He's been very silent on this and he's been one that has not directly called out Candace Owens. But he's finally started to at least combat Candace Owens lies on X. He tweeted this out. He said these are two tweets. He said, imagine if people scrutinize Tyler Robinson smirking in court as much as they did Erica for smiling. The case against Tyler Robinson is straightforward. They pulled his DNA on off the actual Mazer 98 itself. Trigger bolt handle everywhere you touch if you were working the action. Plus the towel he used as a cheek rest, the screwdriver left behind. And he continued on with more evidence. This is what we need to do. This is the right strategy. Guys, flood the Internet with the truth. The real evidence here is Jack Posobiek.
Jack Posobiek
Again, it's very clear that Tyler Robinson is the killer because again, his parents were the ones that turned him in. It's really as simple as that. You don't have to go any further. You don't have to listen to the FBI.
Josh Carr
You don't to.
Jack Posobiek
You have know, if you listen to government, you know, hey, just look at, listen to his parents. Just go listen to his parents. His parents are the ones who turned him in. That's why I keep saying it over and over and over because none of the other theories make any sense beyond that point. His parents turned him in. If your parents believed you did something, they would turn you in. If they're good people now, if they were bad people, they wouldn't turn you in. So just, just think it through logically.
Josh Carr
There is no logic in Candace Owens, only greed and jealousy. There is no logic in the heads of her fans. They are filled with conspiracies, lies and hate. If we're being honest, guys, usually tax season sucks, but the people who do my taxes make it so much easier. Quick Tax America. And because they're doing the work, they can look for every credit, every deduction possible. Last year they got their average returner over $3,000 back. So go check them out right now. They do my taxes and they do a fantastic job every year. You can check them out@quick taxamerica.com Candace Owens released her first episode of Bride of Charlie and it was complete slope. It was appalling, it was fraudulent. And we're going to break it down right here with some clips from it that are crazy. Also, don't forget to stay till the end because I have a huge announcement regarding Candace Owens. That is very exciting. So Candace started her hard hitting series on Erica Kirk by doing what all good Christians should do. Telling everyone to stop praying for Erica Kirk's kids.
Candace Owens
Pray. Pray for Erica. Someone's looking into her background. Pray. Oh, she will need your prayers. Her children need your prayers. They were doing that. Pray for her children. Why? Because she's at the office the whole time. Like, what was that? What was that freak out panic? When have we ever done anything to the children at all ever said anything. Of course we want the children to be great. You should not be praying for the children because investigative series is coming out about their mother who has chosen to be the CEO in her husband's stead. That's a decision that was made.
Josh Carr
The reason that we're praying for her kids is that one day they will be old enough to be on the Internet. Right now they're very young. And what they'll see when they get on the Internet is hundreds of videos with Candace Owens face on it and others. And some will be called Bride of Charlie and they will have their mom's face and their dead dad's face on it. And they will be traumatized. And I do not use that word lightly. I hate that word, honestly, because people overuse it. But this will be true trauma. They will be traumatized by what people say about their mom. They'll be traumatized about what people say about her relationship with their dad. And that will be because of Candace Owens and her followers. The irony is, upon seeing the trailer of this series, we all called Candice satanic and a demon. Those were the natural things to describe what she was doing. And it seems she just wanted to steer into that by telling us not to pray for the people she's attacking. I mean, she's open about it. I just don't think she's trying to hide what her agenda is. Well, in her first episode she addressed myself and other content creators. She said the reaction that she has been getting has been so intense against her that she's now doubling down.

even more episodes of the series.
Candace Owens
We haven't even said anything yet. A two minute trailer resulted in one of the most aggressive preemptive PR strikes that I have ever seen. They posted photos of my manager's infant daughter, my makeup artist, my family members, lots of voicemail for my producer. Okay, well this was initially supposed to be just three episodes. Now I'm thinking about a season two and a season three because if you haven't quite figured me out yet or thought through how we got here, I don't like it when Innocent people are targeted and attacked and on rare occasions, shot in the neck in broad daylight.
Josh Carr
So at this point you might be thinking, Josh, like what was the episode about? Like where, what did she actually say? Where was the revelations and the evidence against Erica Kirk? The answer is there was none. She barely even talked about that. It was just another Candace Owens grift episode. This person on X summed it up very nicely. I just watched episode one of Candace Owens Bride of Charlie masterpiece. Riveting investigative journalism. Erica Kirk once had a funny haircut. Charlie and the kids wake up at 3am suspicious her parents got divorced. Shocking plot twist and wait for it, Candace reminds us she's a notary, which means we can trust her. Investigative journalism, I guess. Truly groundbreaking facts. The FBI is probably scrambling to open a case file right now against Erica Kirk. Just to give you guys an idea of how this sounded in person, like in the actual episode, here's a clip
Candace Owens
from him telling the truth about her paternity. That Nicole Rothstein. I want you to understand who this would be to her. Nicole Rothstein. It's going to sound ridiculous, but this is the reality. If Erica telling the truth, Nicole Rothstein would be Erica's father's sister's husband's previous wife's daughter's daughter. In other words, zero blood relation, not even kind of related, kind of crazy. You would even call each other cousins. People do that. It's cool with my cousins, my cousin. Okay, cool.
Josh Carr
And somehow guys, there are hundreds of thousands of people out there who watch this and think that this is good stuff. And I think that is the saddest part of all of it. So we will be back to review episode two of whatever this turns out to be. But before you go, I've got a huge announcement to make, guys. As I've talked about today, Candace Owens has released a three part series investigating Erica Kirk called Bride of Charlie. I am very happy to announce I have opened an investigation of my own and I will be releasing my three part series, Obsession of Charlie. And as you'll see, this is something completely different than anything I've ever done on the show thus far. The video will be very, very different. I've received some very incriminating, very intense information about Candace that has never been released. Nobody has ever talked about it and I'm very excited to share it with all of you. Part one will be released next week. It's going to be free for everyone to see. For parts two and three, they'll be available for subscribing members of the show days and maybe even weeks before everyone else. I've never asked for money from you guys before. I've never really asked for like donations or things like that. My membership on this channel is only 2 99. Episode: FINALLY: Matt Walsh OBLITERATES Candace Owens Over Erika Kirk Attacks
Host: Joshua Carr
Date: February 27, 2026
Joshua Carr reviews a recent, heated controversy between Daily Wire hosts, specifically how Matt Walsh directly condemned Candace Owens for her attacks on Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk. The episode contrasts Walsh’s clear moral stance with Michael Knowles’ more moderate, conciliatory approach, and takes apart Candace Owens’ first episode of her “Bride of Charlie” series. Carr positions himself and other conservatives as defenders of truth and decency, promising his own investigatory series in response.
[00:27 – 02:53]
Carr opens by detailing Knowles’ suggestion that conservatives stop focusing on infighting, particularly the ongoing feud involving Candace Owens and Erika Kirk.
Knowles frames intra-movement criticism as distracting and possibly harmful:
“Some right wing influencers seem to think that the best way to honor Charlie’s legacy...is to focus all of the attention all the time on the relatively few people who are criticizing [Erika]...” – Michael Knowles, [01:24]
Carr strongly disagrees, arguing that “defending good people” is never misguided and criticizes Knowles’ desire for unity as “moral cowardice.”
“It is still moral cowardice not to call out bad behavior and lies, even if it’s coming from your own family.” – Josh Carr, [03:53]
Carr notes Knowles’ personal closeness to Owens as her child’s godfather, but insists this should be even more reason to correct her missteps.
[05:48 – 10:10]
Carr praises Walsh’s clarity and moral solidity, playing multiple quotes in which Walsh unequivocally calls out Owens’ accusations as groundless and dangerous.
Walsh refutes the premise of Candace’s attacks:
“His attacks on Erica, by Candace and by everyone else engaged in this campaign are wrong. Deeply, desperately wrong. Wrong morally and factually.” – Matt Walsh, [05:48]
“The whole crux of the matter here is not just that Erica is a grieving widow, but that she is innocent of the accusations that are being made or implied against her... There is no evidence that she did any of that. No evidence at all, period.” – Matt Walsh, [05:56]
Carr underscores the personal cost to Erika Kirk and her children:
“Imagine what it must be like for her. And because of that, we must defend her.” – Josh Carr, [06:56]
Walsh further dissects the spurious “evidence” used by Owens, critiquing reliance on hearsay and irrelevant detail:
“They would not be compelling to a grand jury or a prosecutor or a judge... you would be laughed out of the room. There’s no case here. There’s no evidence of anything.” – Matt Walsh, [08:17]
“You could tell me that Erica’s mother was a serial killer and her father was a terrorist, and it wouldn’t move us one inch in the direction of proving that Erica has done anything wrong.” – Matt Walsh, [09:12]
To conclude, Walsh highlights the double standard in public scrutiny:
“All of the evidence... connects Tyler Robinson to it. And yet for some reason he’s not the subject of public scorn. Instead it all goes to the widow of the man he killed.” – Matt Walsh, [10:10]
[12:20 – 12:56]
Carr features Jack Posobiec, who has finally offered public support for Erika Kirk, emphasizing that the real evidence points toward Tyler Robinson:
“It’s very clear that Tyler Robinson is the killer because again, his parents were the ones that turned him in. It’s really as simple as that.” – Jack Posobiec, [12:20]
Posobiec derides the necessity for “conspiracy” when the facts are straightforward.
[14:12 – 18:22]
Carr plays clips from Candace Owens’ new series, noting how she instructs viewers not to “pray for Erica's children”:
“You should not be praying for the children because investigative series is coming out about their mother who has chosen to be the CEO in her husband’s stead. That’s a decision that was made.” – Candace Owens, [14:44]
Carr condemns the emotional toll this public attention will take on Kirk’s children:
“What they’ll see when they get on the Internet is hundreds of videos with Candace Owens’ face on it... They will be traumatized...and that will be because of Candace Owens and her followers.” – Josh Carr, [14:44]
He characterizes the first episode as baseless and sensationalist, mocking its lack of substantive evidence:
“Erica Kirk once had a funny haircut. Charlie and the kids wake up at 3am — suspicious. Her parents got divorced — shocking plot twist. And wait for it, Candace reminds us she’s a notary, which means we can trust her.” – Josh Carr, [17:05]
He plays a segment where Candace outlines an absurdly complex and irrelevant “relative” of Erica’s as supposed evidence:
“Nicole Rothstein... it’s going to sound ridiculous, but this is the reality. If Erica’s telling the truth, Nicole Rothstein would be Erica’s father’s sister’s husband’s previous wife’s daughter’s daughter. In other words, zero blood relation...” – Candace Owens, [17:53]
[18:22 – End]
The episode is forceful, combative, and unapologetically biased against Candace Owens, championing Matt Walsh’s factual and moral clarity. Carr positions himself as a truth-teller, committed to defending the unjustly accused and exposing “grifters” in the movement. The language is direct, emotional, and often sarcastic, especially when critiquing Owens’ series.
Summary prepared for listeners seeking a comprehensive understanding of key arguments, positions, and the trajectory of this conservative media controversy.
