So those of you that have been listening to this podcast for a while know that it has gone through many different iterations. I have tried many different things. I've tried doing personal updates. I've tried doing the guest podcast. I've tried recently, pretty much going over the CO letter, which is like my major newsletter that I put a lot of effort into every week. And it's. Something's felt off. I've never been able to get the podcast right, so I want to maintain its consistency because I know that this is a way of us having a deeper connection together and us going over more advanced topics that I wouldn't be able to talk about on the timeline or even just thoughts in my head and other things that I think a select few people will get self some form of value from. So that's what I'm going to do in this episode. And who knows, we may change back to something some other format, but for now I'm going to keep it to this and I'm going to try to keep it as short as possible, under 10 minutes and just highly impactful, Kind of like a soundboard where I can go and just talk about one topic and dive into it quite a bit. So the, the topic of today that I've been thinking about and I've been putting off saying this for a long time is that self development, not, not self help, not, not anything external self development, intrinsic internal self development is an absolute necessity if you want to do great things in this world. I've been putting off saying that because it's. It's a harsh truth that people don't want to hear. It's a very big task to take the entirety of your life into your own hands. Mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, financial, business, every single aspect of life and developing yourself in those areas. And the, the reason I've been thinking of this is because I've been slacking. I really have. I've been building out the new cohort. I've been. I'm probably the busiest I've been in my life when before I would always talk about. It's a phase of intensity, right? If you had listened to that podcast originally, this is a phase of intensity that I'm in and it's very enjoyable. But since I've had to shift focus and shift priorities, I've kind of lost a few habits and I've kind of lost the. The zest I had for life throughout what would be previously a curiosity phase or a maintenance phase where I was working a few hours in the morning and Then walking, like going on walks like you guys know how it was, where I was like, yeah, deep focus in the morning and then go on walks and do this, that and other, and just enjoy life, you know, do whatever you want, Experience life and develop like, aim for optimization in every area of your life so you can tap into the full potent range of experience, good experience that life has to offer you. And with that, I've been reminded of this because I had adopted some bad habits. I know that originally at like the start of the year, most of you probably don't even remember this, but I said I wasn't going to drink for the rest of the year and getting to Texas and all of those opportunities available. I had some drinks here and there, I had a good time. And that didn't become excessive by any means. But I started taking on habits like that where on the weekend I'd want to take a break from work, right from this phase of intensity that I feel compelled to build out and like go have a few drinks. Not even that many. It didn't affect me really. But that's just one example. Like, it didn't affect me in a, a super negative way. The way that bad habits that I've adopted like that have affected me is that it's taken the zest away from life. It's. It's made me not value science, silence and internal reflection and observation and trying to dive deeper and deeper into the creative domains that I want to master. Right? That's what I believe all of this is about, and I'll be writing a newsletter on this soon, is that I truly believe that to do what you want to do, you choose a domain to master that includes like three of your curiosities, right? And you have to develop yourself in those areas. In those three areas, one that preferably makes money, one that you're just interested in, and then another that complements that and you develop yourself in those areas which is formed. You can only develop yourself in those areas if you don't develop yourself as a whole. Especially your mind, your mind specifically, because that's what helps you reach new levels in these areas is intellectual development. And with the domain that you choose to master and the interest you choose to master, there are stages that Ken Wilber talks about, developmental stages. When you're developing something in your life, there are states and stages. There's a place, there's states where you can tap into it. Right now, like if I had a burst of creativity, but I wasn't able to sustain that level of creativity, That's a state. But when you develop yourself to a specific point, now that's a stage. And now your life's work, in my eyes, is to help people advance to the stage that you are at, right? You reach a new stage of development and then you help people reach that stage of development, right? And the way you do that is through self development and development in those areas by diving deep and studying them. You have to study things as your life's work. You have to consume information. But I don't like the word consume because it implies mindlessness. What I would rather you do is research and study and dissect and make connections and dive deeper and deeper and deeper into these areas of interest of yours until you reach these new stages. And then you can pass down your learnings. And as you are evolving, you are freeing up space under you. This is why things don't get saturated. For example, my offers have developed over time. I no longer do freelance work. I no longer do client work, I no longer do coaching. I have in essence freed up that space for the next person to come after me based on what I've learned. And they have to go through those developmental stages, right? I can't get them to my stage if I haven't gotten them to the stage that got me to the stage that I'm at, right? And so my entire thing behind this and why mental development specifically is so important is because the people who make the most money are not manual labor workers. They are not low skill labor workers because those jobs, as we are seeing, are continuously being phased out. It's been happening throughout the entirety of human evolution. We didn't want to plow fields manually, so we invented a tractor. The person that invented the tractor developed his mind enough to create and strategize and create a vision for something new and invent something. That's how you make the most money, or that's how money is necessary. I know, like people don't like talking about money, but it's absolutely necessary in our modern world because it opens up opportunities to reach new stages of development. Up until a specific point, right? You don't need to make a billion dollars, you need to make maybe a comfortable six figures. Maybe I'm ballparking here, but you have to have autonomy and be doing something that generates intrinsic energy within you in order to continue developing your mind. And it's like a self fulfilling prophecy. So that's the thing is that if you want to achieve excellence or make a lot of money or whatever, you are driven by Right now you have to prioritize self development and specifically mental mastery because that is in essence self mastery because the self is created by the mind. So that is what I have to say today. If you want to make money, you to want. You have to master the mind. Because the mind, expanding your mind and opening your mind and prioritizing your mind is what leads to creativity. Being able to create new solutions, be able, being able to strategize, becoming a visionary, becoming an inventor. The person, a person that is actually going to change the world. Can everyone do this? I would assume that they, everyone can develop their mind. Can everyone be a millionaire billionaire, do what they love, whatever it may be? Entrepreneur, maybe, I don't know. You won't know unless you try. There's going to be people that don't do it. But either way th. This is what I am about. And that's also something that I've been putting off is I have been trying to cater to everyone. It's like, oh no, entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. Mental mastery isn't for everyone. Self development isn't for everyone. But no, I am heavily convinced that it is. And I am also heavily convinced that I give out the best message when I talk about this stuff and I talk specifically to the people that resonate with what I'm saying because those are the ones that I can help the most in accomplishing, reaching these new stages of development. So I would love to hear what you think of these kinds of podcasts where I'm just sitting here and going over something that's on my mind and not necessarily banking on my other content to like structure this in any given way. So if you're on Instagram, dm me on Twitter, Twitter's better. And yeah, I'd love to hear your thoughts. And as always, to end the podcast, I have to do a shameless self promotion for what I've been reminded of that is my why is Modern Mastery?
