Hey, pro life Jen. Welcome back to the Kristen Hawkins Show. We have a lot on the docket today. We've got a research segment where I'm going to talk about Christian colleges and their ties to Planned Parenthood, new survey results that we just released about how Gen Z views abortion when it comes to voting. We're going to talk about a showdown in Congress and Trump's stupid word flexibility when it comes to Hyde Amendment. We've got breaking news out of the state of Wyoming, where activist Supreme Court judges have blocked one of our critical pro life laws that we pass, calling it health care. I also have fantastic news out of Washington, D.C. on Students for Life actions, Pregnant Student Rights act that you've never heard about, but I'm going to tell you about. And we're going to talk about Stranger Things I know and some comments from Pope Levo. So stay tuned. All right, everyone. So something I get to talk about a lot at on this podcast or students life even in general, is one of our initiatives called the Institute Dimitri Institute for Pro Life Advancement. And this is sort of our, like, research arm. We also host annual meetings with other pro life leaders to build coalitions and develop strategies across organizations. But one thing that IPA does every year is our Christian Schools project. I know, it's a super sexy name. What we do is for a half of a year, our team combs through the websites of every single Christian college in the country, 725 of them. And we look for ties to the abortion industry and Planned Parenthood, like Clear Cut, they're promoting Planned Parenthood internships or promoting Planned Parenthood their campus health center. We call these ties infractions. And then we grade the schools on how many infractions they have. Now, I wish we didn't have to do this project because I think it's pretty unthinkable that any Christian college in America would have a relationship with the largest abortion vendor in the country, Planned Parenthood. But we have to do it every year. And every year the news gets a little bit worse. And we think students, parents, and just Christians and the general public need to know that what's actually going on these Christian schools, because as we all know, light is the biggest disinfectant. So what we did is we put together this report we just released at the beginning of the month, and the news is not great. So we found initially that 118 schools out of 725 Christians, 725 Christian colleges had ties open, flagrant ties to the abortion industry. Unbelievable. Now, we documented 533 unique infractions spread across those 118 schools. Now we do the Christian thing. We go to the schools privately during the summer months at least three times to try to get them to fix themselves. Because we understand and we, as we always tell politicians, personnel is policy. But Christian schools don't often know that. And so they allow raging liberals, pro aborts non Christians to run parts of their school. So we always like to go straight to school leadership to tell them, hey, this is what we've uncovered just publicly, not even the things that are being said in classes, which I mean, lord have mercy, I can only imagine some of these schools after we did that, four of the 118 schools actually fixed the problem. So we're actually down to 114. Only 114 out of the 725 schools that have infractions. One of the worst offenders this year, which actually shocked me, I was doing an interview and saw this and I couldn't believe it, is Villanova. Villanova earned an F for listing several abortion organizations on their Career Connection website. As a reminder, this is a very well known Catholic school. We've had outstanding Villanovans for Life group there for years. And by the way, it's the Pope's alma material. The Pope's alma mater, where he helped launch Villanovans for Life as a grad student, is an F in our Christian school study. I really hope that there are parents who are tuning in or grandparents who are helping kids or grandkids with their Villanova tuition who get very angry. Maybe even the Holy Father himself, you know, he might be a fan of the Kristen Hawking show and call Villanova and tell them to fix this. They could literally fix it. And like, two minutes, two minutes, that's it. The worst part about this is that we've seen and this year's results proved that abortion connections on Christian schools actually went up 20% since the Dobbs decision in 2022. 20%. That means we have so much more work to do. That means more than one in seven Christian schools in America now list Planned Parenthood or some other abortion vendor as a health resource, or promote them as an internship or highlight abortion groups and course materials. Nothing makes me more angry than Christians or people who say that they're Christians who are pro abortion. Because you can't be. All right. The good news, though, because this is a happy podcast, is that 66 schools this year earned an A plus rating. This means not only does a school have zero infractions or public ties to the abortion industry. But they've gone above and beyond and now they promote life affirming pregnancy help to their students. And that number has actually increased 14% in the last year. I think this is amazing. I'm so excited. I'm so excited we did this a plus thing. But that's really helping get the word out to Christian schools that they actually have a job to do in helping pregnant parenting students find nonviolent resources help. I know, novel thought, but this should be easy, guys. Every Christian school should be promoting life. We have zero schools on our list. As I told Fox News when we let them do an exclusive of the story, if you support abortion, you are obviously, obviously not following the teachings of the God who said you shall not murder. The Ten Commandments is not something we can be flexible on. If you are a Christian and you profess to serve a God who spoke the universe into existence, who sent his only son to die a painful, excruciating death, to rise again in three days so we can live in heaven with him for all eternity, if you profess to believe that he did that for us as his creation, that we are infinitely invaluable, You have to take action. And you can't support abortion. Schools must cut ties with Planned Parenthood and we need your help. So I need you to go to studentsforlife.org Christianschools right now on that website, there's a handy dandy map. All the schools that have infractions so B through F so that have some sort of tie to the abortion history are listed on that map. Click the school. Click. I think it says take action. And you can send an instant email that's going to be routed right to the university leadership, please take action. If you know of a student, if you have a friend, if you're a parent paying the tuition at one of these schools and the school is listed on that map, that means they have a pro abortion infraction. Call the school immediately. I need your voice to help us hold these schools accountable. As if that wasn't enough, this January, Students for Life release our annual, I think it's our fourth annual poll of youth voters and abortion. Once again, I'm not a genius. I'm making up names. Names. We do this poll in conduct in partnership with Vinia Research and then Survey usa, a progressive like mainstream polling company. You should see their reactions after they read my poll questions. But we do the poll from voters 18 to 45. So Gen Z and Gen Y, yes, US elder millennials are included. And if you know Anybody who serves in public office, you need to listen up to turn it up. Dial up those AirPods right now because you are going to want to hear this information because guess what? 18 to 45 year old voters are 48.5% of our electorate. They are the largest voting demographic in our country. This poll surveyed 1100 of those voters, asking them about various abortion policies, including the fight du jour, chemical abortion. Let me go through some of the key findings because what I think about this as you're listening to these key findings. We always talk or we always hear politicians talk about finding the middle right. They always want to find the common ground because politics is not, you know, is the art of what's possible. It's finding consensus. I often hear on Capitol Hill, we only want 70% issues, right, Kristen? We only want things that 70% of Americans agree with. Here is the deal. When you look and read these findings also, they're published at our Institute for Pro Life Advancement. So go to institute for prolifeadvancement.org they're right there on the homepage. You can read through the cross tabs, read everything. When you think about these findings, it is very clear that we haven't even found the middle ground on abortion. Now am I for the middle ground on abortion? No, absolutely not. My job and my role is to abolish abortion. That's literally our mission statement, students for life. But when we're talking to politicians, when you're talking to people are like, oh, we can only do so much. We haven't even reached the middle ground. Think about that. So key findings, voters 18 to 45. Most registered youth voters want less abortion. Almost 7 in 10, 66% said they support laws that severely limit abortion. Huge not what you hear in the mainstream media. The Democratic Party's platform on abortion, of abortion, all up until the moment birth, all nine months tax. Yeah. Only 8% support that view on abortion. 8% less than 1 in 10 support the actual Democratic Party's platform, abortion. Meanwhile, 9 in 10 believe that help should be given. Now this is, this is against the Democratic Party platform. But nine in ten believe that, I don't know common sense that if a baby is born accidentally in the abortion industry in an abortion clinic, they should be given support to live. Because we're so far gone now today in politics on Capitol Hill and the arguments we hear from Democrats, they're literally arguing and have been arguing in Congress the past couple years and voting against the bill, the Born Alive Infant Survivors act, all which, all it would do is Say if a baby was accidentally born alive in abortion facility, you have to give that baby care. Democrats oppose that. But nine in 10 youth voters supposedly always supposed to be like the most radical or most liberal voting bloc in American history. They actually think that babies should get care because it's like common sense and human dignity, you know, decency. Interesting poll question put in this year. We asked when human rights began. The good news is these voters know that the courts can't play God. Zero percent. This is like impossible in polling. You never get zero percent. There's always like a naysayer. But zero percent said that of registered youth voters said that courts did determine or dictate when human life begins. Awesome. This is a kind of a cool, nuanced poll thing we do. So we always ask at the beginning of the poll, if you go to instituteforprolifeadvancement.org and you read the whole poll, we always ask at the beginning, like, where do you find, feel, you know, where do you find yourself on abortion? How do you feel about abortion? You want more abortion, less abortion? Should there be restrictions? Non restrictions? And then we asked the question later in the poll because we ask a simple qualifying question. If you believed that women had families, had resources they needed to choose life, would you be more or less willing to accept restrictions on abortion? So we actually go through a list of things like paid family leave, you know, like a federal maternity policy and paternity policy. We go through like a list of like common sense things that left and right should be arguing for to help pregnant parenting, young people and families. And when you start asking these questions, we actually found a 7 point overton window shift, so meaning more than 3 and 10, so 34% of pro abortion. So at the beginning of the poll, pro abortion voters said they'd be more willing to accept limits on abortion, quote, if they knew the state and federal government offered increased support for mothers, children, families. Seems like an easy thing to do here, people. This is what we always say at Students for Life and our campaign for Abortion free Cities, right? People don't care how much you know about abortion until they know how much you care. I 100% believe if every American knew how much we do in the pro life movement to support women, if we stood up and filled in all of the service gaps that do exist and Americans believed that abortion wasn't necessary, that a woman had options, even though she does have options, they just don't know it because the mainstream media won't tell her that a majority of Americans would quickly fall Away from their support from abortion because it's written on the human heart that you don't like abortion because it's killing babies. Even if you're pro choice, you have a hard time. You have to find all these new words to like describe abortion because you know in your heart of hearts, abortion ends a life of unique human living being. Though it's kind of valuable even if you're an atheist. You know, it's human life, it's valuable. We need to do more, especially in this post Roe era of supporting women and families and promoting that support because that changes minds on in voters, on elections. That changes minds on elections. But then also in just in the actual view that people hold about whether or not abortion should be legal or should be tolerated. Here's another interesting poll finding. The GOP must stop delaying and protect the environment. Nine in 10, 89% of youth voters said studies on the potential environmental impact of waste and drugs related to abortion is with 30% of them is saying is extremely important that we need those studies, that they want to see those studies done. They support those studies. Less than 10% said it wasn't important to study for the government to study abortion and water pollution. This is a common sense thing. This is something that even pro choice Americans, young Americans clearly support. Unplanned parenthood. This is another fun one. Support for the abortion Goliath dropped 13 percentage points during the survey as voters learned more about Planned Parenthood's known misconduct. Beginning of the survey, 57% of registered voters said they viewed Planned parenthood favorably, with 37% saying very favorably. So those are like your hardcore people. Only 16% beginning survey said they viewed Planned Parenthood unfavorably. 27% were in the middle, which actually that's a good number because that's going up. Youth voters though, change their mind during the course of the survey because what we did, we just before we re asked the question, we said Planned Parenthood has been convicted of X, Y and Z. And we didn't even talk about killing babies, just their Medicare fraud, their dangerous clinic, their dangerous clinics for women. Like stuff that's already been proven in court because trust me, I had to prove this to the polling company. But when we re ask that question, then 44% said that they supported Planned Parenthood. 24%. So remember that 37% that said they were very favorably, that 37 went down to 24%. Then the middle increased from 27% to 34%. So we went from 57% saying that they were the two favorable camps to 44%. 13 percentage points dropped after like one line and less than like 30 seconds. Fewer than one in four voters said they consider Planned Parenthood to be vital. Huge. Another interesting stat. Abortion is the top in the top three issues for more than half of the registered youth voters. Sadly, though, it's only the top issue for the for 12%. It's like all of us. So candidates do have a lot of room to educate and inspire voters with this issue and it does drive constituents to the polls. But the main thing is, and what we say all the time is candidates have to own the issue, not shy away from it. Because the abortion industry is a bully. And if they feel like a candidate for office is afraid of talking about abortion, they will pummel you into the ground. I think it's very clear those running for office need to expose the radicalism of the Democratic Party's position on abortion. With all, you know, wanting abortion up until the moment of birth and then allowing babies to die afterwards. That is wildly unpopular. I think candidates need to show, especially Republicans that they are listening and take into account the real life needs of moms and families and be vocal about supporting policies that will actually help them. I think they need to go on the offensive doing actual environmental testing and abortion waste, medical waste, and the dead babies that are flowing into our water because that's an issue that everybody cares about. There's a lot we could do, a lot of hope. And I am so excited to be taking this poll to Capitol Hill this week to educate not only the White House, but leaders in Congress, because what they often are told from the mainstream media is that and honestly from the swampy Republican consultants that have been there for decades and are nearing retirement or should have retired years ago, is that abortion is a losing issue and that they should shut up about. It couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, when they shut up and run from it, they always lose. Next segment, guys, let's talk about what else is going on Capitol Hill besides my awesome poll. Flexibility is a really great thing for gymnasts. I'm just going to say it. It's a really bad thing for taxpayer funding of abortion on January 6, after a decade of pro life blood, sweat and tears working to protect taxpayer dollars from directly funding abortion, which we passed. The first Hyde amendment was 1976. And Dr. Michael New, a professor at Catholic University of America, he's like the leading abortion statistician, has found that Hyde Amendment being in effect every year since on our federal budget to have saved saved about 2 million babies. Because according to his research, the biggest thing you can do to limit or stop abortions is stop funding it. The biggest thing you can do to increase abortions is fund it with taxpayer dollars. So on January 6th, after all of this, since 1976, of the Hyde Amendment, since last year when the Trump administration proclaimed in an executive order to rescind the Biden era policies that violated the Hyde Amendment, like that's what President Trump did last January, this January, President Trump says at a meeting of Congress and all the congressional leadership on January 6 that in order to get a deal on the health care bill, which we've been talking about, I talked about last year on the Obamacare bill and the subsidies and the whole controversy happening in Washington, D.C. that quote, you need to be a little flexible on hide now you have to be a little flexible on Hyde. You know that. You got to be a little flexible. You got to work something, something. Why did he say that? Because the GOP continues with this stupid big tent nonsense and allows pro abortion pro choice members to run for office, supports them in their run, and then comes to a majority in Congress, a slim majority with pro choice Republicans, who then later in January after this, voted. 17 of them voted with Democrats to advance a bill out of the House, send it to the Senate, which it was dead on arrival that extended the Obamacare subsidies without the Hyde Amendment, meaning our taxpayer funds would be funding Obamacare health care plan subsidies for people who can't afford the full expensive premium, monthly premium Obamacare, because by the way, the Obamacare plans suck. They're silver level plans and they cost like platinum level plans, but we would be paying for abortion coverage in those plans. Seventeen Republicans voted with Democrats to advance a bill out of the House of Representatives. Shortly after President Trump said this, that went to the Senate. Thankfully, the Senate, U.S. senate leadership, GOP leadership said dead on arrival. We're not advancing a bill that funds taxpayer abortions. But what the heck, man? That was like my first question. What are you doing? President Trump, literally last January, one of the first actions after he pardoned the 23 Pro Life protesters and got them out of federal prison. And one of the first things he did was rescind Biden era policies that was we knew were violating the Hyde Amendment, forcing the va, the Veterans affairs hospitals to fund abortions. That was one of the first things he did. And now because President Trump likes to make a deal, he wants a deal on health care because Republican and Democrat both want people to get health care, right? We're not evil people. This is crazy town, crazy town stuff. President Trump, I don't know if he didn't realize it, if he didn't read the speech, he didn't know what Hyde is. And it's just his advisor is telling him we need to be very clear with the President. I'm going to be at the White House this week. Pray for me. Because we are going to be all very clear. There is no flexibility with Hyde. Absolutely not. And thank God for Speaker Mike Johnson who came out like same day and said that Hyde has enjoyed decades of support, unified GOP support, even like pro choice Republicans for decades have said, yeah, I support the right to kill a baby, but I still think it's weird to force taxpayers to fund it. Even pro choice Republicans have said that. Now what has changed? We have seen firsthand the disastrous effects of what happens when the Hyde amendment protections aren't applied to all legislation. This is why we've seen, like in Maryland where they have so much money in their abortion slush fund with Obamacare that they're like paying for abortions from, from women who are coming out of state, like West Virginia, they have a slush fund of money just for abortions, pay for taxpayers, paid by taxpayers. In Maryland, that slush, you know, fund of money would not exist if high protections had been applied to Obamacare, as by the way, President Obama even promised when he was making a compromise with used to be pro life Democrats in the House who then stupidly fell for this compromise that President Obama was suddenly going to, you know, protect taxpayer dollars for funding abortion. And guess what, it didn't work. And then by the way, all those pro life Democrats who used to serve in the House Representatives lost their seats because they funded abortion with their vote for Obamacare like this was back then in the day, like 2010. I know you all don't remember it. I do. I have the bags under my eyes to remember that. It only took two days after Trump on January 6th said the stupid statement about flexibility for 17 Republicans to have the excuse that they needed to vote with pro abortion Democrats to pass this bill into the Senate with no hide attached to these Obamacare subsidies. Now in the coming days, the Senate is coming up with a new bill that's going to, I've heard, have high protections. But Students for Life Action will be scoring every single congressional vote as it pertains to health care. And whether or not it has high protections in it when it comes to health care is hide or die. That's it. All right. I want to Talk about something else that just happened a mile down the road here in Wyoming. So a couple years ago, Wyoming was the first state to pass Students for Life's own model legislation, the Prohibiting Chemical Abortions act, which made it illegal to traffic chemical abortion pills into Wyoming, which is by the way a pro life state. Big deal. We were super excited. Students for Life action. It was like our second state to pass a piece of model legislation for students for life. But earlier this month, Wyoming, the Wyoming Supreme Court, which is extremely liberal, who by the way the majority have been all appointed by Republican governors because you appoint in Wyoming, the Supreme Court invalidated our bill which had been enjoined since it had passed, as well as another pro life bill, the Life is a Human Right act, which just illegalized all abortions. Both of those bills were invalidated because the Wyoming Supreme Court judges found a constitutional right to abortion. Because in 2012, in reaction to the stupidity of Obamacare in Washington D.C. the Republican leadership in Wyoming had put up a constitutional amendment vote and passed to amend the constitution to ensure health care freedom. That was to give a middle finger to Obamacare. It wasn't a bad amendment. If you read, you're like oh yeah for that. But the Wyoming Supreme Court judges who are pro abortion and appointed by Republicans found in the right to abortion in this health care freedom amendment. And because they called it health care, you're seeing a couple problems here. One, once again, Republicans who say that they're pro life and don't do anything and actually do the exact opposite, hoping no one will know. So the current Wyoming governor Mark Gordon has appointed several of these pro abortion judges to the Wyoming Supreme Court bench. And I'm pretty sure he's looking for higher office. And now don't worry, he's super pro life even though this was his making. Now we have to figure out what to do. Governor Gordon, because he's so pro life, has called for a constitutional amendment fight. So another election in November where abortion will be on the ballot, a pro life amendment will be on the ballot. This is going to be difficult. It's going to be expensive. I've been on the phone with the Wyoming Senate president and the Senate Vice president. I'll be in Cheyenne working on a solution. If we can get about referendum how much money we'll need because we know we'll be dramatically outspent. Even though Wyoming is a pro life state, except for the town I live near which is, you know, where all the abortionists are, of course I, of course I can't move to Somewhere that's just like normal and people will like me. I have to move somewhere. People hate me if they find out I live here. We are also working on a creative bill I can't tell you too much about except that there's constitutional lawyers involved to see if we can do something. Still using a bill because passing a bill would be super easy because the Wyoming Senate and House is outraged by the Supreme Court. In fact, I think they're voting to like take away like the Wyoming Supreme Court's like entire budget, which would be great. But then we have, we probably are going to have to go to an amendment. So stay tuned on that. I will tell you that this is why judicial retention elections matter. No one really ever pays attention to judicial retention elections. But in many states, whether you're appointed by a governor or you run for Supreme Court, you have to stand up for re election. It's called judicial retention in 2024. Something that most people don't know. For the first time ever, Oklahoma Supreme Court judge lost his judicial retention vote. How did you happen that? You might ask, how did that happen? How did that come to pass? Students for Life. We actually got involved, spent just a little bit of money, a little bit of door knocking. And one of the Supreme Court judges in Oklahoma who we knew was responsible for striking down another law that we had passed, its students for life action with our amazing courageous leaders in Oklahoma. He lost his retention vote. Another judge almost lost. It was like hundreds of votes. Okay, so Wyoming, these judges have been appointed and then they stand for reelection. And there's going to be a 2026 retention vote for Judge Robert Jorash. He needs to lose. There's going to be a 2028 retention vote on Justices Lynn Boom Garden and Carrie J. Joe Gray. Yeah, they need to lose too. So we've got to get busy. Possibly even judicial retention elections. This is something that we, that it is possible. No one really pays attention to these elections and that's a good thing when you don't have a lot of money like us and the pro life movement. But this is, this is a slow route. But if we can start transforming the actual makeup of the Wyoming Supreme Court and get a pro life governor who will only appoint judges who know that we all have a God given right to life and deserve not to be violently dismembered in the womb simply because we are temporarily inconvenient to another person. Yeah, those would be some of the things we need to do. So more to common Wyoming, you'll see me in Wyoming. Probably doing videos and protests. So more to come. All right, the other new in the news item that's good news. Good news is the House of Representatives will vote this week, probably the day of the March for Life, the national product March for Students for Life actions, Pregnant Students Rights Act. This is a very simple bill that came out of our Standing with you initiative which just says, hey, if you receive federal funds as a university, you have to tell women that there's nonviolent help, that she's not going to get kicked out of school, that she has pregnancy accommodations, that there are accommodations for her after she gives birth to her baby. It's super simple. Because what we have found at Standing with you is there have been a lot of women who've dropped out of college because they didn't know about their Title 9 rights or the pregnancy Non discrimination Act, which was passed like in 1970 because guess what? Their college didn't tell them. Now their college had condoms and business cards and flyers to Planned Parenthood on freshman orientation week, but they never tell her or have told her what will happen if she's pregnant and she chooses life and all the support that is out there. Okay, to set the stage for what the Pregnant Students Rights Act, I'm going to read something from the pro abortion National Women's Law Center. This is an article they wrote about Title 9 protections and why we need them. On the pro abortion National Women's Law center, they wrote, Imagine being 36 weeks pregnant trying to complete the last class that stands between you and your hard earned college degree. You are a bit nervous about giving birth in the middle of the spring semester, but are confident if nothing that you cannot but are confident is nothing you cannot handle. Lover. You approach your professor and say that you have to miss a few days of class in order to give birth. And your professor responds that missed days will amount to a failed grade due to a mandatory attendance policy. Stressed and confused, you approach your advisor who informs you the best option is to drop the class and take in our time. This nightmare might sound straight out of the horrible 1950s movie, but it's actually a story that happened to Gina Corcoran as she was trying to complete her degree at prestigious Chicago College. I've never met Gina, but I've met Ruth. Ruth was a student in Colorado Springs, same exact deal. Had the audacity to give birth during finals and her professor would not give her makeup and gave her an incomplete. And then the school told her because she had an incomplete, she didn't qualify for her federal funds anymore federal loans. And then she had to drop out of school. Students for life. Had to fight for this student after we met her to fight with the university, say you violated Title IX for her to be reinstated and it had to help fundraise money so she could go back to school. This happens all the time. This should be bipartisan so students like Gina, students like Ruth can complete their degree. However, when this bill came up for a vote last year in the House of Representatives, every single Democrat voted against it, advanced out of the House because we had Republican majority. Every Democrat voted against it. So we are hoping this time maybe we'll have some Democrats vote with us this year during the national Pro Life march for the Pregnant Students Rights act and then it will advance to the Senate with bipartisan partisan support, where the Senate has promised us in about a week's time, when they come back from their January recess, they will take this bill up for a vote. I pray the Democrats don't filibuster it, but I have a feeling they might because at the end of the day, Democrats want more abortion in Washington, D.C. and I don't like to make broad terms. I know there's pro life Democrats, but in Washington, D.C. it's clear last year the committee hearing in the House for this bill, it got nasty. The Democrats called the bill an anti abortion activist bill that would deny women reproductive health care. By the way, if your health care kills people, you're doing it wrong. They actually tried to insert amendments into the bill to force the schools to give more abortion information. It's crazy. It's absolutely crazy. This should be bipartisan, but it tells you where we stand in once again, our current Democratic party and how far they've gone to sell out to Moloch and the abortion industry. So stay tuned to Kristin's social media and I'll keep you fully updated about the status of the Pregnant Students Rights act bill. But I would love for you to take some action. Call your members of Congress. So call your representative. Call your two centers, demand that they vote for the bipartisan Pregnant Students Rights Act. This is just stupid, simple. Everyone should be about, should be in favor of that. Next, we're talking about culture. This is my culture assignment for you guys today. At the moment, Hollywood seems to be where some of the worst and some of the best things are happening at the same time. But we often see there's not a lot of gray area in Hollywood. But we did see that in some ways in this season of Stranger Things. Now, my husband and my son had to get me update. My husband doesn't watch, but he was kind of screen. He always screens some of the stuff in advance for my, my son. And Gunner keeps me, my oldest, keeps me well informed of what's happening on Netflix when it comes to abortion. So if you've been watching Stranger Things, this was billed to families apparently from the beginning as a retro sci fi venture where kids fought evil. It sound looks cool, the T shirts look cool. I think the trailers are cool. And you. And throughout the series, you kind of watch this band of students and young people, they grow up and, you know, move on with their lives. And I think for a lot of people it was, especially my age, it's very popular because it's very nostalgic of that time, that time period we grew up. But one of the most fascinating things about Stranger Things phenomenon is that it does appeal to everyone, young and old. So it's kind of great, kind of wholesome. But Netflix got its like, nasty little claws into it, as they always do, and ultimately started using the show to push sexual ideology onto young audiences. Like Netflix has 100% an evil agenda. For instance, the coming out storyline for one of their main characters. This show turns his sexual orientation into a superpower that he can use it to defeat a villain. There are things I want to say that I'm not going to say because I know teens watch this show. This, the show went hard on this sexuality angle at the expense of just, quite frankly, good television. They sacrificed good art to push an ideology and shove an ideology down our throats. My teenage son was, and who was a big. He's a big sci fi fan, Gunner. He loves Star Wars. He loves Harry Potter. He's finally got me watching Harry Potter. Just watch the third one. They're not too bad. Gunner, who was a big fan, was so put off by the fifth season, this final season, that I was cooking during the night and came down and shoved his Stranger Things T shirt into the garbage. Into the garbage. The show's actors have also made a lot of controversial headlines lately. Maya Hawke, who plays Robin in the show, claimed that, quote, she wouldn't exist. She did this on, like a nighttime TV show show that no one watches because everyone's asleep. She claimed that she wouldn't exist if her mom hadn't had an abortion. I'm gonna play it for you right now.
B
My mom wrote this really beautiful essay about her abortion that she got when she was really young and about how if she hadn't have had it, she wouldn't have become the person that she'd become and I wouldn't exist and how both of my parents lives would have been totally derailed and she hadn't had access to safe and legal health care, fundamental healthcare and I of course wealthy people will always be able to get abortions. But so many people will not only not be able to pursue their dreams, but actually lose their lives and be unsafe.
A
You know what really causes people to lose their lives? Abortion. That's what causes people to lose their lives. But what a stupid, terrible argument that she's excited her sibling was killed. I mean just how, how separated from reality was that to watch that? It's, it's sick. It's an inversion. We are called to sacrifice our wants and our needs when they conflict with the well being of more vulnerable people. That's kind of like basic humanity. It's actually our duty when it comes to members of our immediate family. But viewing your siblings or viewing your own children as those who be who should be sacrificed so you can continue your life on it's messed up. But there are some bright spots. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays a central character on the show 11, recently got married very young. There was like tons of social media about that. I didn't know who she was until that social media started hitting and adopted a baby with her husband. What's something that made you smile today? My baby. My daughter. When she wakes up, she looks at me and smiles and it's the best feeling ever. This was her reproductive choice to adopt a baby. But Millie Bolly Brown faced a lot of criticism for not only deciding to get married and young, but also to start a family at just age 21. Me too, me too. Crazy. I got married at 20. I think my gunner came when I was 23 and have building students for life at that. Why could that be? Why would the abortion industry, why would the left, the mainstream media attack somebody for getting married and having kids? Maybe they view her happiness and her family as an indictment on their own selfish worldview. That's kind of what I'm thinking. It is because why would you get angry with someone adopting a baby? Someone who's rich and famous and has money. I mean like every argument that the left uses, why would you get upset about someone wanting to love a baby? These people are angry. They're carrying on this warped feminist legacy that insists that being single and childless is supposed to bring you the path to most happiness. I mean, I think I saw something on X last night about how like 70 some percent of millennial women view their dogs as their children. It's crazy. I mean, I have puppies. I love my puppies. I view them as my puppies. They're not my children because I have four real children. Speaking of happy actors, Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas in the show, is also a open, devout Christian and it seems to be working out for him despite Hollywood being such a godless place. He's spoken about prayer, going to church, grounding his life and his career and his relationship with God. He told Essence magazine recently, quote, God has called me to do this thing called acting and the reforming arts. I never wanted to do it. It just happened. I love it more than anything now. Now I don't know how many actors can say they're in profession because God called them to do it, but I do imagine those who feel called to acting probably find the most enjoyment in it. So what's my take on Stranger Things? It's a mixed bag. Definitely don't want my kids to watch last season. But there's there still are some bright spots in Hollywood. And let me close by saying this. If the evolution of Stranger Things has taught us anything, it's that parents, by the way, need to monitor what our kids watch. Depending on their age, it might be appropriate to turn it off or it might be appropriate to watch it together and discuss and have a conversation. But you need to know what your kids are watching and stay plugged into the culture because 100% shaping them. Hawkins House, we let our kids pretty much watch anything but with limits. And we're pretty close with them so we know exactly what's going on. Because remember, we lived in a camper for four years. But our one rule for Disney plus is no new Disney, only old Disney. And when it comes to Netflix, only the teenagers are allowed to watch it unless it's a kids show and even that those have to be monitored. Let me wrap with some encouraging messaging and news out of the Catholic Church, even though the Pope's alma mater, Villanova is an Afghan Christian school study. Earlier this month, Pope Leo issued his first State of the World address. It's kind of like the State of the Union, but the Pope lays out his priorities for the whole world for the year. In a speech, he made it clear, very clear, that protecting life remains a key priority for the Catholic Church and Catholics across the world. He said, quote, the vocation to love and to life implies a fundamental ethical imperative for enabling families to welcome and fully care for unborn life. He went on to say, we categorically reject any practice that denies or exploits the origin of life and its development. Among these is abortion, which cuts short a growing life and refuses to welcome the gift of life. I love it when the leader of our church speaks clearly and firmly on the issue. I love that he goes on. Pope Lee actually went on to talk about how protecting life not only demands protection of every unborn child, but also the, quote, effective and concrete, concrete support of every woman so she is able to welcome life. Can I get an amen on that? I love it. I love it. That's exactly why Students for Life has our Standing with you initiative. Why we challenge Students for Life groups to sign up to make sure their campus has resources and is promoting resources. If you haven't signed up for Standing with you and your Students for Life or Turning Point group, go to standing with you.org Sign up as a student group and we can help you. This is why we've launched Students Life Launches act, our Pregnant Students Rights act and why we're pushing for on Capitol Hill. We have to take ownership of this new next wave of pro life strategy which is not only fighting back against chemical abortion and illegal abortions that are happening in our states to move to move culture in the blue states to the pro life side of the window, Overton window, but we also have to be providing support and promoting that support publicly and become an advocate. So go to standingwithyou.org, click the button at the top. I think it's orange that says become an advocate. It's very easy.
