Hey, pro life Jen. And welcome back to this episode of the Kristin Hawkins show. Today we're going to be talking about Obamacare and how it leads to abortion funding and most importantly, what you can do about it. Then we're going to talk about what I want for Christmas, which is really for Planned Parenthood just to be permanently defunded. And I have a complete playbook ready for you for what needs to happen as we head into reconciliation 2.0 in January 2026. Then from Congress, we're going to walk across the street to the Supreme Court and I'm going to talk about the latest pro life case that was just heard at the Supreme Court and why it's critical for our movement. And finally, I'm going to talk about crazy report on women giving birth in jail alone. Pregnant moms and babies deserve care and attention, regardless of their location, even if they're in jail. Trust me, you're going to want to hear about this one. All right, starting off today, we're going to talk about the heavy topic Obamacare. Obamacare has been in the news lately specifically because it played a huge role in why Democrats shut down the government for more than 40 days this fall. I mean, beyond the fact that they wanted to win the Virginia elections, which we all know is the main reason. But they want us to think, and they being the Democratic Party, who knows taxpayer funding of abortion is wildly unpopular with majority Americans. Democrats want us to believe that federal taxpayer dollars aren't funding abortion at all. In fact, they've been lying about this for years. Sure, they give money to abortion vendors like Planned Parenthood, but they always say the federal government doesn't directly fund abortion, only in rare circumstances because of the Hyde Amendment. I'm going to dig into that. But there's actually a giant loophole, and it's called Obamacare. Now, thanks to the Hyde Amendment, funding streams that are covered under appropriations, budget appropriations can't pay for abortions because this is something that has to. It's not permanent law. But Hyde has to be renewed every year as what's called a budget rider. And it says that federal taxpayer dollars can't go to pay for abortions except for rape and incest or the life of the mother. And that's what we always hear Democrats saying. They're always like, oh, no, we don't pay for abortions with federal taxpayer dollars. But here's the deal. It's a budget rider, meaning it only that rider only applies to funding streams during the appropriations packages and process. So things outside of the Annual appropriations bills and packages. A high doesn't apply to them. Okay? This is why Obamacare has essentially, since 2010, when the Democrats, remember Nancy Pelosi said, we'll know about it, we'll read it after we pass it, all that crazy stuff. That's why Obamacare has been essentially funding abortion and why the pro life movement was right in 2010 to say Obamacare is the largest expansion of abortion ever in the federal government beyond Roe versus Wade, which we got rid of. Right. It's crazy. Obamacare setup basically pools of money set aside to pay for abortion. It uses federal and state tax dollars to subsidize American insurance plans through premium tax credits and cost sharing payments. Because here's the deal. Obamacare sucks. Obamacare has given us really crappy health care in the government through these government exchanges. For example, I live in Idaho. My insurance plan that Students for Life covers for all of our 100 employees went up 92% this year. Why did it go up so high? Because I have two children with cystic fibrosis who are on very expensive medicine. So they wanted to punish Students for Life for providing people like my children with health insurance. So I, Kristin, tried to kick myself off the Students for Life health insurance plan while we were shopping for cheaper plans. And I went to the exchange in Idaho and tried to find a plan. There's only three plans. Only two companies that offer plans offer. And those are three plans in the state of Idaho, one of which I don't qualify for because I don't live in the right area. So two plans, they're called silver plans, which means they're about 2,500 plus a month and premium for the family. And they have a super high deductible, like over $10,000. And you can only go to doctors within the state of Idaho, even though I live on the border of Wyoming and the hospital is in Wyoming, not Idaho, that wouldn't count. Our kids. CF doctors are in Seattle. Can't go to them. Crazy. The plan suck. I called private insurances. I said, hey, can I just buy a plan? Not buy an exchange plan. Can't do it because of Obamacare. Put all these individual plans on these exchanges. These exchanges offer crappy plans, substandard camp plans. A lot of health insurance companies have gotten out of even offering plans. Like, for example, one company was like, yep, this is our last year. We're not offering health insurance plans anymore. And so because they're so expensive, even though they're crappy, a lot of people qualify based on their income levels for basically government subsidies where the government will pay part of the monthly premium costs because these premiums are so out of control. Well if you live in a Democrat state. I don't live in a Democrat state. But if you lived in a Democrat state like Maryland, like California, like Illinois, that mandated that all Obamacare exchange health insurance plans have to cover abortion, that means if I, you know the plan is $2,500 a month and they say okay Kristin, you qualify for a subsidy $1,000 a month, you know, basically subsidy from taxpayers that are funded to cover your plan. So you only have to pay 1,500 dol month. That means that thousand dollars is going to come from either federal or state or maybe both taxpayers to make up the difference of what I can't afford and cover abortion plans. Okay, I hope everyone's following this is what's hard about us thinking podcast because I can't see your eyeballs. It's crazy. So when Obamacare was passed, Obamacare said that states had the ability to decide whether or not they could mandate that abortion was in these Obamacare of paternity plan. So meaning every Democrat blue state said yes, we want to cover abortions. And the Hyde amendment doesn't apply to these Federal and State Tax 1 Hyde Amendments. Federal doesn't apply to states but it doesn't apply to the federal subsidies because it's outside of the budget appropriations process. So what does this have to do with the government shutdown that we experienced this fall? Well, this happened because these enhanced subsidies that keep going to Obamacare to fund this really crappy exchange market with super high plans that are really bad plans by the way, these subsidies are set to expire and Democrats wanted to renew the subsidies. This is money that's given to families who can't afford to buy these outrageous crappy plants. Democrats held the budget hostage trying to force Republicans to extend the Obamacare subsidies. Right? But Republicans for one of the first times ever didn't blink. And in a surprising pro life backbone congressional Republicans stood firm this year and saying listen, we're not going to vote to extend Obamacare subsidies without attaching the Hyde amendment to these subsidies. Meaning we don't want our federal taxpayer dollars are paying for Obamacare subsidies to fund abortion. Are you following me? Pro abortion Democrats have said that the subsidies with Hyde protections are a complete non starter. Like they literally said they would rather shut down the government and have everybody in a panic about whether or not they're going to continue to get their subsidies for their crappy health Care plans all because of one thing, abortion funding. This is how tied Democrats are to abortion in our country. They shut down the whole freaking federal government over Obamacare subsidies that they didn't want to apply the Hyde amendment to. No, this got completely lost, by the way, in the whole, like, TV narrative. But yeah, this was like, central to the whole debate. This was like the whole thing. So whether or not those tax credits and subsidies expire doesn't change the problem. We know. And Democrats have basically proven with the shutdown that Obamacare is a giant funding mechanism for abortion. Maryland is a perfect example. And it's going to be, if they have anything to say about, they want to be the first of many states to come up with this new plan to even give even more money to abortion. Let me explain. So Obamacare led to a creation of what basically is a $25 million savings account just in the state of Maryland that is just for abortion. Because what they said was, if in order to cover abortion in your state Obamacare exchange plans, the insurance industry has to contribute a dollar into this abortion slush fund for every plan. So Maryland has this like $25 million abortion savings account floating out there, right? Well, they have so much money in this abortion plan that they don't know what to do with it. So about $3 million a year is used in the state of Maryland to pay for abortions on babies whose mothers are in a Maryland Obamacare crappy health care exchange plan. But that's a big difference. 25 million, 3 million. So they tried to come up with this, like, really interesting idea of what can we else we do with this money and how can we kill more babies? Of course, because it's Maryland. So the legislature in Maryland has passed a law that says that they can take money out of the savings account, which was created because of the ACA Obamacare marketplace, you know, rule that the insurance companies have to put a dollar to cover the fee of abortion for every plan that's created. Right. They're going to take money out, 2.5 million to be exact, every year, give it to local nonprofit abortion funds in Maryland. Now, if you've never heard of abortion funds, these are extremely creepy nonprofits that solicit private donations that you can give money to and that they then go and advertise to border states like states like my home state of West Virginia, which borders Maryland and says, listen, if you live in a pro life state that doesn't want to kill your baby, you can come to Maryland to kill your baby. And if you don't have money, we'll pay for it and we'll even pay your transportation. That's what these nonprofit abortion funds do. They literally advertise free abortions either in state or out of state, and even pay for abortion travel. So the state of Maryland has passed a law to take money out of this $25 million abortion slush fund that was just set up in their state because of aca, because they have so much money in it, they don't have to do with it to now give it to local nonprofit abortion funds to, to advertise in border states, pro life states like my home state of West Virginia, to kill more babies. This includes, by the way, the expensive late term abortions that are legal in Maryland because Maryland allows abortion up until moment of birth with no gestational limits. But it's not just Maryland. They want to now export this law to other states across the country. One of their leaders in the state legislature said this, quote, this bill is super important for Maryland because we're making sure our clinics stay open. Maryland has been a leader on the lot of reproductive bills for the past 30 years. And so in a way, this bill fits into that legacy. It's also nationally significant because there's 25 or 26 other states that can take this model and run with it. We're looking for California, Illinois, New York and those bigger states that are sitting on potentially hundreds of millions of dollars to take what we've done here in Maryland and implement there. Now. That is a direct quote from Leslie Lopez, the Democrat and the Maryland legislature who sponsored this bill. That is their plan to go to all the Democrat states and say, listen, you have all this extra abortion money that's not being used by women in your state on exchange plans to kill her baby. Let's give it to abortion funds to fund more abortion. Dr. Michael New, who I had on explicitly pro Life when I used to have guests on this podcast which still debating whether or not I bring back on guests. I have mixed reviews coming in from my staff, so let me know how you feel about that. But Dr. New is like the foremost statistician in the pro life movement where he takes pro life laws that have passed and then analyzes how many lies that they've theoretically that he believes using real world birth data have saved. The abolitionist. Pro prosecutionists hate him because they try to say that like pro life laws don't save me lives and Dr. Neu always brings the receipts. But anyway, Dr. New has done extensive research about in the past 20, 30 years about what happens when the state funds abortion, state Medicaid dollars, because of Hyde, you can't directly use federal Medicaid dollars except for the abortion slush fund. But states like California, Illinois, they use Medicaid dollars, their own taxpayer dollars raised from in state money and fund abortion. And Dr. New speaks openly like that is the biggest thing to increase abortion. So if you want to reduce abortions in your state and save the most amount of save the most amount of lives, take away the funding of abortions. The abortion lobby ain't stupid. They know if they fund more abortions and give more money to these local abortion funds, more abortions will happen and more babies will die. And by the way, all this is happening because of Obamacare. So what do we need to do? The first thing is we need to do is we need to make Hyde permanent law. If you've ever listened to me talk for probably longer than an hour, probably have mentioned making Hyde permanent. This has been a long time goal of the pro life movement. In October, Students Life Action center letter to Congress explaining our objections to renewing the Obamacare subsidies without attaching Hyde to them. And we talked once again, we need to make Hyde federal law. Not like this annual thing that has to be renewed because we all know what like President Gavin Newsom and President AOC will want to do. They're going to want to fund abortion up until the moment birth with 100% federal taxpayer funds from here to kingdom come. And we've even told Congress in October we might be scoring their votes on Obamacare subsidies based on whether or not they fight on this, which didn't make anyone very happy. No one likes scoring and keeping politicians accountable. But to us, Obamacare is hide or die. That's it. Either Obamacare has hide on it or it should die. I don't want to talk about anything else and not well, I could talk about how terrible Obamacare is and a lot of other ways, but when it comes to the pro life movement. Hide or die baby. I'll see you in Washington in January. All right, speaking of funding abortion, let's talk about what I really want for Christmas, which is to defund Planned Parenthood for real forever. We know Planned Parenthood kills over a thousand babies a day by starving them, by poisoning them, by vacuuming them out of their mother's wombs, by dismembering them. They literally go to work every day in the killing fields. And it's unimaginable that not only are they killing over a thousand babies a day, but they openly brag about and they're lasting a report which they released the day after Mother's Day. They bragged that they killed 402,000 babies last year, their all time record. And we're excited about that now. We all loved winning when the big beautiful bill was signed into law on July 4th. Right. The BBB. The BBB removed taxpayer funding from Planned Parenthood for one year about and it was about 80% of their federal funding, all their Medicaid funding, which is all you could it was all their Medicaid funding, which is all you really can do in a budget reconciliation bill. Because it's not a bill to just say we ban Planned Parenthood for ever receiving taxpayer funds. It was a budget reconciliation bill. So we had, you know, limits. Okay. But the time is now to fully defund Planned Parenthood for good. And we've got to get started. We have to get started now. So you're going to see Students For Life Action unveil our 12 Days of Christmas. 12 Days to Defund Planned Parenthood starting Christmas and beyond. And every day we're going to be sending you an action item for something you can do to demand Congress defund planned Parenthood in 2026. So go to students who liveaction.org 12days and sign up and you'll get you're and you'll get a text message from me or one of my team members, but one every single day in action of what you can do for 12 days of Christmas. So students for lifeaction.org 12days. The first thing we're going to have everyone do is join us in echoing our calls to the Trump administration to play the Trump car to finally debar Planned Parenthood for good. Debarment is a very simple and well used and well documented review process that any presidential administration can take to stop an entity, a government vendor, from receiving taxpayer funding when the entity has been proven to be unqualified, breaking the law. Sketchy. Okay. Debarment means they couldn't receive, apply or receive federal taxpayer dollars for three years. There's some debate, maybe it could be five. But majority cases, it's three years and they can't do business. They won't be able to do business with any other entity that receives taxpayer funds. This be massive. The second thing we have to do is tell Congress So soon as January 1st hits, Congress is going to be reconvening to pass what's called reconciliation 2.0. Basically the BBB 2.0. That reconciliation bill must also defund Planned Parenthood like the past BBB did. Why? Because if not, Planned Parenthood's funding would be reinstated on America's 250th birthday on July 4, 2026. So that is not going to be a good look for the party of life to reinstate Planned Parenthood's funding. So we want Congress this time to put the 10 years, which is the maximum amount you can ask for in a budget reconciliation bill to defund Planned Parenthood and get it through the budget reconciliation process with 10 years. Simple. The third thing Congress must do is they must finally codify the Hyde Amendment. Put the Hyde Amendment into federal law, make it permanent, not just an every year thing that has to be renewed on a budget appropriations bill. This would mean passing the no Taxpayer Funding for Abortion act was Representative Chris Smith introduces like every January or the Abortion Insurance Disclosure Act. They have to take this seriously and finally make Hyde permanent law. So if you want to take action and you want to get an Action every day for the 12 days of Christmas on how you can speak into this fight to tell the Trump administration to tell Congress to step up to debar and define Planned parenthood. Go to studentsforlifeaction.org 12days and sign up. Let me get into the weeds a little bit. Debarment. Once again, this is the most direct way to defund Planned Parenthood. Three years. No applications, no receiving the federal funds, no doing business with those who get federal funding. And listen, we know Planned Parenthood has disqualified themselves from getting federal funds. Not only did they kill 402,000 babies a year and brag about it, but there has been numerous documented video documentation of illegal trafficking of baby body parts of the babies they've aborted, which violates like a ton of laws, specifically human trafficking laws. There's been numerous allegations in court cases surrounding Medicaid fraud. In fact, in Texas, they had to pay back the state of Texas millions of dollars because, oops, they double billed the state Medicaid for years. There's evidence, our friends at aul, Americans United for Life have documented for years evidence for following showing that they fail to follow common health safety standards in states, along with other abortion facilities. Shock people who, like kill babies, don't also operate a clean facility. Who could have thought that there's been repeated failures, even on video, of Planned Parenthood failing to report sex crimes, including sex crimes against minors. There's employee reports and legal action from their own employees and former employees calling it a racist work environment. And there's a well documented scandal that during the COVID pandemic, they illegally took paycheck protection program money, which was meant for small businesses. Planned Parenthood didn't qualify because they're a billion dollar plus industry. They took paycheck protection money from the U.S. small Business Administration and never paid it back. And that's the easiest way to debar Planned Parenthood. In fact, I personally delivered myself and Lydia and some of our students with almost 15,000 signed petitions to the Small Business Administration. October. I think it was the first pro life protest ever of the SBA where we were asking the SBA administrator, Kelly Loeffler, former pro life senator from Georgia, to start debarment proceedings against Planned Parenthood because it's well documented that they illegally took paycheck protection money and never paid it back. It's like over $80 million. One number I saw, I think it was $120 million. I mean, this is crazy town. Senator Rand Paul and Senator Joni Ernst have actually all echoed our cries. And they've sent a letter to Kelly Loeffler asking her to start this process of debarment within the Small Business Administration. Super easy. Complaints have been made. A congressional letter has been sent. We have delivered over 10,000, nearly 15,000 petitions. We want the SBA's inspector general who should be confirmed by the end of December and a little birdie told me might be pro Life to start debarment proceedings immediately against Planned Parenthood. Because here's the really cool thing. You debar Planned Parenthood, the Small Business Administration. They are debarred agency wide throughout the all federal government. All right, if you tuned into the webcast in this podcast before, I'm sorry, I've been talking about debarment for a while, but I have to keep educating our pro life movement about debarment because way too few people know about the next next action Item is reconciliation 2.0. We are waiting for this to begin. It's supposed to start asap. They're already having like negotiations. But we know Medicaid funding is at least 75% more likely than 80% of planned parents federal taxpayer dollars. We were able to defund planned parenthood for one year in the BBB. But on July 4, 2026 on America's 250th birthday, funding will reset unless reconciliation 2.0 is passed. And it includes defunding Planned Parenthood now so Kristin can sleep at night. And if we actually want to defund them more than one year, we have to allow the House version which happened in May this year. It had 10 years of defunding it Senate and a lot of people were like wait a minute, it was 10 years got to the Senate and then all of a sudden it was one year. Why? Because of the Senate parliamentarian who was appointed and served and trained under the former past Democrat Senate leadership. She took the language out from 10 years and made it one year. The Senate parliamentarian is an unelected bureaucrat who basically is there to advise the Senate on like procedures and rules. Literally was able to make a life and death decision that talking about billions of dollars, her job is to give advice. That's it. I don't understand why the now pro life Republican Senate majority leader John Thune has allowed the Senate parliamentarian who's like the deep state to continue operating. But yeah, she should be fired. And this has happened before. This is kind of commonplace. This is ridiculous. To allow us to parliamentarian to continue to water down pro life provisions to that will save lives. So first step is get A new Senate parliamentarian who isn't going to just like strike out 10 years and put one year in the next budget reconciliation bill. Tell Senator John Thune that the second step is really in our the ball will be in our court to tell the Senate and the House that we are 100% expect them to defund Planned Parenthood again, a budget reconciliation? Why? Because now they've proven it's possible. Now we know they can do it. It was always before, it was like, well, we don't know if we can do it, Kristen. We don't know if it's legal. We don't know what the Senate parliamentary is going to do. Guess what? We did it. Now we got to do it again. Because it would be huge slap in the face to the entire pro life movement months before the very contestuous 2026 midterm elections if Republicans allow Planned Parenthood to get refunded on July 4, 2026. Okay. We have been told over and over again, wooed by a lot of GOP leaders over the years, that they were going to step up and they were going to get this job done. Specifically in 2020, 2015, when David Deliden and his center for Medical Progress videos came out documenting that Planned Parenthood is literally chopping up the body parts of babies they bought and selling them for profit. Right. And everyone was like, don't worry, we'll defund Planned Parenthood. Didn't happen then. This is why, you know, Speaker Mike Johnson is one of my heroes. He got it done. He held the very small, very slim majority and some of them who are pro choice Republicans, which we need to stop letting Republicans get elected and being pro choice Democrats, don't let that happen. But anyway, he got it done. It was the Senate and the Senate parliamentarian who serves at the pleasure of Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota, that then whittled it down. All right, the next thing we're going to be talking about in the 12 days all I want for Christmas or 12 days of Christmas is defund Planned Parenthood is to codify Hyde. This is something when Congress resumes session in January, we have to see a no taxpayer Funding for Abortion act reintroduced. Hopefully it'll swiftly pass the House. It'll go to the Senate to die because we do not have the votes to overcome the Senate filibuster, meaning you need 60 votes in the Senate to anything to pass the filibuster, especially when it comes to abortion. However, little birdie, basically every poll ever has told me that Democrats really don't want to talk about abortion funding because even pro choice Americans don't like the thought or concept of their taxpayer dollars funding abortion. So we need to make and we need to force Senate Democrats to vote on this bill. We need to get them on record. We need to, like, get it done. Congress has got to codify the Hyde Amendment, make it federal permanent law, and end taxpayer funding of abortion. Any abortion plans that cover abortion, any abortion, you know, slush funds or grant programs. Yeah, that should never happen. So I hope you'll join me studentslifeaction.org 12 days and 12 days of Christmas and you will get your action items and join me and starting our advocacy early before Congress gets back to Washington in the beginning of January. All right, so now let's walk across the street from Congress to the Supreme Court. And I have to talk to you about a hearing that was just had at the Supreme Court which is going to have consequences for the entire pro life movement. So here's the deal. First Choice Women's Resource Centers, a network of Christian pro life pregnancy centers in New Jersey, came under fire when the New Jersey Attorney General, Matthew Plankin, decided to open an investigation against First Choice about whether they've been misleading women and its services and it actually provides. As part of his probe, he subpoenaed internal documents and ads, information backing up all their medical claims and names of staff and names of all of their donors. About 5,000 first choice has said, hell no, we're not giving up the names of our donors. And they went to federal court and said a subpoena violated the First Amendment rights because handing over their donor names and internal advocacy materials would chill free speech and association. Now this has gone from federal court now to the Supreme Court and the state is saying, well, this should be staying in a state court, should be going to federal court. The big question that the Supreme Court's going to be grappling with is if a group shows that state investigation, you know, agency, investigative agency, is trying to chill its First Amendment rights, does it have to stay within the state court system or can it go to a federal court, which is a really big deal? Because if your state AG wants to shut you down and chill your free speech, going to a state court might not be the best way to see justice served, to get a fair shake, right, a fair hearing. So there's going to be like a lot of, like technical. And there were a lot of technical arguments be weighed through. But this is important. Why is this important? So you may not remember, but there was Prop 8 a few years ago in California, and this was the gay marriage amendment that would ban gay marriage in the state of California. And there were a couple of people in Silicon Valley who had donated to the anti gay marriage campaigns. Well, all of that information, those donor names got released after there was an investigation and a lot of people lost their jobs. Like one guy was pretty high up in Silicon Valley, I forget his name. It was like Mogzilla Firefox guy, the old browser I used to use. Right. Lost his job. Like it was crazy. So when people and you know, pro choice ags or legislatures want to see a list of donors, what they will do 100% is they will release those names or they'll leak the names or somebody in their office will accidentally give a hard drive to somebody else. And what they want to do is put pressure on the donors to stop giving because they realize if they stop giving, the agency, the organization can't survive. Students who have Action is actually party too. We're actually suing the state of North South Dakota right now on a similar case of their legislation that they passed trying to like make nonprofits disclose donors when they're engaged in legislation and advocacy work, which, it chills free speech. This matters because a few years ago when Democrats controlled Congress, they actually introduced a bill, their first act, it was HR1 that year, and I forget the official name of it, but it was very similar where they wanted to basically force nonprofits disclose donors so then the left can then start their relentless campaigns against donors and Students for Life Action and Students for Life America actually did some interesting legal reorganization to protect donor privacy if this bill would ever advance. Because I'm already assuming at some point Democrats will regain control of Congress and they'll, they'll do this again because they want to stop us, they want to silence us because they know as the pro life side we have truth on our side. Right? Every single abortion kills human children. Kills a precious child made in the image of God. It's nasty, it's gruesome, it's violence. It hurts women. They don't, they don't want the truth to get out. This is why they hate pregnancy centers. They hate pregnancy centers. Why? Because pregnancy centers give women another way. They give women another option which literally takes money out of their friends grubby little pockets which sets a standard across America that you don't have to choose abortion in order to be successful. And they hate that more than anything else. So let's pay attention. The hearing just happened. So the decision will come down sometime in spring or summer, but this will have effect. This will have an effect for the entire pro life movement. So let's be in prayer for this decision that the Supreme Court making of the first choice Pregnancy Women's Resource Centers all right, last topic for today and then I'll let you go. There was a 17 minute YouTube video expose that Bloomberg Law and NBC did recently which by the way these are not pro life sources exposing the horrific way mothers have been Some mothers have been treated during labor and delivery while incarcerated while in jail. A few examples from the report Kentucky woman had to chew through her own umbilical corner court after she gave birth alone on a dank county jail floor. In Georgia, a woman said she begged for 13 hours, retained the hospital for delivering her son in her cell. He died four days later. In Louisiana a woman said she gave birth on the toilet after a jail nurse told her to shut the up and go back to your corner. Mississippi, a woman died of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy after complaining for days about abdominal pain. In California, a correctional officer stopped at Starbucks while driving a woman in premature labor to the hospital. The baby died. Bloomberg and NBC looked at 54 cases that span both pro life and pro abortion states. A lot of folks took to social media and were like this is the problem with pro life states. That was not the case. This Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin law of pro abortion states. There there was 54 cases. Of those cases, six babies were born stillborn, six babies were born alive but died within days. Twelve of the surviving babies suffered infection, diseases or birth defects that could have been prevented had the mother and baby received proper medical care. Sixteen women had miscarriages, four women had to survive ectopic pregnancies and two moms died. This is crazy. I could not believe I was reading this. I mean sadly these cases are already horrific. These many of these mothers are addicted to drugs which is why they are in the hospital with why they're in prison. Right. And not at the hospital where they should be. That obviously is going to contribute to bad outcomes for moms and babies. But the fact is that these mothers health were already in a vulnerable state compromised. That should be even more reason why the jail should be making sure both mom and baby are receiving care. So many of these disasters were and could have been preventable had the mom had proper monitoring during the pregnancy, during labor making sure the mom's getting antibiotics if she has an infection, making sure her baby receives immune immediate evaluation and treatment, especially if they think that the baby was already exposed to drugs while in the womb. Some have said that we need a federal law to explicitly direct jails and for protocols for pregnant laboring mothers. And I'm totally down with that. I think the reality is that there's already some very clear constitutional protections for inmates that just seem to be getting ignored from some jails. According to JAMA Journal of Ethics, there's a 1976 Supreme Court case, Estelle vs Gamble, which explicitly affirmed that the Constitution requires prisons to provide medical care to inmates by holding, quote, deliberate indifference to serious medical needs of prisoners, end quote, violates the eighth Amendment prohibition on cruel unusual punishment. The issue of inmates not receiving medical care seems to be kind of a widespread problem and it's obviously probably much more widespread beyond just pregnant moms. But we have to remember that pregnancy involves two patients, baby and mother. And it's well known that birth outcomes can be very bad when there's no medical supervision, sterile environment or support for mom. And that seems to be what's happening or playing out our nation's jails. And personally, regardless of, you know, their pro abortion violence, Bloomberg and NBC did it justice did the right thing by bringing this issue to light. But now it's time for us to make all of our voices heard and to make sure pro life and pro abortion legislators and lawmakers take action on this because this is unbelievable. These babies did not deserve this. No one deserved that. This episode is brought to you by the Pro lifegen shop and our brand new hot off the press Planned Parenthood Tears mug. Title: My ONE Christmas Wish!
Date: December 16, 2025
Host: Kristan Hawkins
In this episode, Kristan Hawkins dives into the intersection of U.S. health policy, federal funding, and abortion. She explains how Obamacare facilitates abortion funding, details her movement’s plan to permanently defund Planned Parenthood (her "one Christmas wish"), and outlines actionable steps for listeners to influence policy as reconciliation 2.0 looms in Congress. She also covers a recent Supreme Court hearing impacting pro-life pregnancy centers and discusses a troubling report about women giving birth in jail under inhumane conditions.
“They literally advertise free abortions either in state or out of state, and even pay for abortion travel.” (16:49)
“Debarment is the most direct way to defund Planned Parenthood. … We know Planned Parenthood has disqualified themselves from getting federal funds.” (43:54)
“Now we know they can do it. … Guess what? We did it. Now we got to do it again.” (53:55)
“These babies did not deserve this. No one deserved that.” (01:23:03)
On Obamacare Funding:
“Obamacare has been essentially funding abortion and why the pro-life movement was right in 2010 to say Obamacare is the largest expansion of abortion ever in the federal government beyond Roe v. Wade.” (04:20)
On Government Shutdown and Policy:
“Pro-abortion Democrats have said that subsidies with Hyde protections are a complete nonstarter. … They literally said they would rather shut down the government… all because of one thing: abortion funding.” (15:00)
On Defunding Planned Parenthood:
“We know Planned Parenthood kills over a thousand babies a day by starving them, by poisoning them, by vacuuming them out of their mother’s wombs, by dismembering them. They literally go to work every day in the killing fields.” (38:00)
On Donor Privacy:
“When people... want to see a list of donors, what they will do 100% is they will release those names... to put pressure on the donors to stop giving because they realize if they stop giving, the agency, the organization can’t survive.” (01:09:23)
On Prisoner Maternity Care:
“Pregnancy involves two patients, baby and mother. And it’s well known that birth outcomes can be very bad when there’s no medical supervision, sterile environment or support for mom.” (01:19:24)
Kristan Hawkins speaks with a sense of urgency, conviction, and directness. She uses strong pro-life language (“killing fields,” “defund them for good,” “abortion slush fund”), calls for decisive action, and frames each topic in stark moral and legal terms. She frequently addresses listeners as “pro-life Jen” and emphasizes community engagement.
This episode offers a comprehensive look at how health policy and government funding impact abortion services in the U.S., why Kristan Hawkins and her movement are launching a campaign to permanently defund Planned Parenthood, and actionable steps for pro-life advocates as Congress prepares major legislation. It also features a deep dive into threats to pro-life advocacy groups' donor privacy and exposes disturbing failures in the medical care of pregnant incarcerated women.
