We've got a wild show today. We're gonna be talking about occupying the future, Literally, how you position yourself to step into the things that are preordained for you. Now, all of us here in my audience believe in prophecy. They all like to hear me talk about Kim Clement stories and all that stuff. The reality is prophecy is nothing more than stepping into what God knows about the future that he reveals to you now. And it's a very powerful thing. Matter of fact, when the apostle Paul talked about all the gifts that are there in the New Testament, the gifts of healing, discerning of spirits, working miracles, you know, gifts of faith. He said, especially pray that you might have the gift of prophecy. Because the gift of prophecy can build other people up. So I want to talk about this God pouring out his spirit in the last days. The one gift that I believe is going to be accentuated according to Joel. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Old men dream dreams. Young men see visions. A vast augmentation of this ability to tap into the omniscience of God in the lane that you're in to see things before they happen. Now, I got my son, Carl here is with me. Mercedes is here. And so this is unrehearsed, raw Bible study. But I recorded material in this really powerful marketplace event in San Diego. And I said, get me the outline for that. And I wanna get it to you, too. It's. You can get it@lancewallnut.com occupy because I believe your happiness is predicated upon whether or not you're doing the thing God called you to do in the place God called you to do it. That's when you're occupying your future right now. That's the prophetic theme and one of the curiosities that I have. And this is gonna. I'm gonna have to offend somebody here along the way. No, oddly enough, you won't find a problem with this. But I can remember I went to a lot of secular programs. Cause I was in the training business, right? And so I would go to, you know, everything from like John Maxwell to Tony Robbins to, you name it. I was studying Stephen Covey. I loved the concept of taking motivational theory. And then as I was a student of the Bible, I began to say, well, how does that thread into the scripture? How does that work into this? I remember once Tony Robbins said, hey. He said, sometimes I say things in a certain state of total belief. He said, I get into a place of total certainty regarding something that's gonna manifest. And I'm Thinking. I'm listening to him thinking, dang. I mean, the guy isn't a Christian, but he's using Christian principles. Many that are not Christians are using Christian principles. And they work. That's my premise. So he said, and I remember I was talking to a neighbor in California and. And he said, do you know. And it was like, Steven Spielberg or something like that. Do you know him? And he goes, he said, out of my, out of me voluntarily. I said, yeah, we're good friends. And his wife said, you're a liar. You don't even know him. He said, listen, Steven Spielberg and I are going to be good friends. He said, it just came up out of me. He said, I just believe we're going to be good friends. Sure enough, he ended up buying this castle property. He made a lot of money with his, you know, whatever, Unleash the Power series. And he bought a castle right there on the coast of California. And guess who his next door neighbor was, who he connected with? Steven Spielberg. They became friends. The point is, he said when I said it, I would say stuff, he said, and I'd get in trouble with people around me. They said, why are you saying you do that when you don't do that? He said, because it's part of who I am and I'm gonna do it. And I thought, all right, there's a, you know, just a brief different distance between lying and, you know, or prophetically speaking, and actually having. But I'm just making the point that he sensed, he saw and he, he felt something regarding his future and he aligned to make it manifest. And there's a verse in the Bible that says God gives gifts to men. It's actually, it's in Psalm 68. It's kind of a really wild little trinket here. God gives gifts unto men, yea, even the rebellious, that they may praise him. I don't know if Edison ever met Jesus. I don't know if Einstein ever met the Lord. I don't know if Ford ever met Jesus. But I'll tell you something. Their genius or their gift of innovation and creativity was a God given gift. It wasn't like something where they just went out one day in a Whitman sampler of chocolates, ate one and said, I think I'm going to do this. No, they found something that God gave them. God gives gifts to men, even the rebellious. And you know what? All shall appear before the judgment seat of Christ. And the sober reality is you're gonna account for what you did with the gifts he gave you. And at that moment, everyone's gonna realize it was me really working to fine tune the skill I have. But you gave me that skill and what did I do with it? Cause we all have to account for our talents. It's a biblical parable about, you know, of course, talents then was silver. I know that, but the metaphor is perfect. You'll account for what you did with the talent God gave you. So anyway, I'm thinking about this, and I want to play for you a clip. Another example of how people that don't even know the Lord can tap into the gifts God gave them. And if they believe, this is crazy, even people that don't know Jesus, if they believe they can manifest if they're gifted to do something. Play the Jim Carrey clip. I just saw it yesterday. It blew my mind.

I used to go up to Mulholland Drive every night, sit on the side of the road, look out at the lights and go. I'm a popular actor. Every director wants to work with me. And I used to, like, open my arms and imagine things, you know, things that I wanted coming my way and stuff. I would stay up there until I actually believed that I had all these things. And then I would drive down the mountain feeling like the biggest star in Hollywood. I wrote a checkout to myself for $10 million for acting services rendered. And I put it in my wallet and I carried it for that many years. And what happened was basically a few months ago, we did the deal for the mask for $10 million.

$10 million payment for doing the mask. Right, young man. Right there. Right? And here's my point. Kerry has talent. He wasn't. He wasn't confessing he was going to be, you know, the world's greatest basketball player. He had a talent for theater. He was a remarkable gift. But that gifting that God gave him would have never really manifest if he wasn't believing Tony Robbins the same way believing. And so my point is that before you go off and go, Lance the teacher, Tony Robbins and Jim Carrey, I'm saying that God gives gifts to people. But there's a principle here. You have to. You have. There's an actual being sold out to the thing you're called to do. And there's a mindset, a certain mental matrix that the grandmasters of chess have that people have in military, and it's this absolute certainty regarding their ability to do the thing that, that they're gifted to do. And if given the right opportunity, nine times out of 10, they'll excel in the area of their God given gifting. And so now let's go into the Bible, the pure version of what I'm talking about. David, for example, is anointed by Samuel to be the king, to be the deliverer in Israel. But in David's case, similar to like the Tony Robbins thing here or the Jim Carrey thing, he has had his exploits in private. He slew a lion, he slew a bear. Now the Bible story is he's off in the wilderness by himself with the sheep, singing along with his lonely harp and then playing with a slingshot. So while this kid is developing those skills in secret, both of them are going to be publicly on exhibition, which is an exhortation to pursue the things that you're interested. I tell young people a lot, pursue it. You don't have to know what it's all about, you just simply have to pursue because you might be discovering an acumen, a talent, and then later on God will redirect that talent and that ability towards another application. And I was just thinking, Carl, there's an example of this with Steve Jobs. Didn't Steve Jobs talk about this when he was about calligraphy when he was addressing Stanford? Should I tell the story or do you remember it? No, go for it. I just remember the gist of it. You would remember better details than I do on it. But more or less, it was his interest in calligraphy, in smooth lines, in clean execution, that really lent itself towards the aesthetic of Apple products. And he dropped out of college because he couldn't justify his parents, adopted parents spent so much money to put him in college and like, and be the kind of savant that these guys are. He said, you're wasting your money because I hate these courses. I'm not even paying attention. And I respect and love you enough for your sacrifice. Just forget it. The only course I'm taking is calligraphy. Because there was something about the fonts and the art and the discipline of graphics that intrigued him and absorbed him. And his first product before he came out with the Mac and the Apple products was a product called Fonts de Leon. It was taking the boring Courier IBM font that was the standard font that was used, and giving people the opportunity to have 10 different ways of doing fonts. And that was the launch of the first capital stimulus that enabled him to start to invest in messing around with computers. So here's my thought for you. You go to David's life, David's anointed, and God had to put a promotion in the mouth of somebody to get him where he had to go. And the promotion is kind of like a Tony Robbins statement he had. There was no truth in it that could possibly be known. So let's go there. I think it's in First Samuel, chapter 16. And. Yeah, verse 18. So Samuel is being afflicted with this demon of depression, and his servants are trying to figure out how to help the boss get out of his depression. They didn't have any drugs for him back then. So one of the young men said in verse 18, behold, I've seen a son of Jesse, the Bethlehemite, who is a skillful musician, a mighty man of valor, a warrior, one who is prudent in speech, and a handsome man. And the Lord is with him. And Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, send me your son who is with the flock. Here's the point. The kid is out there on his own with a flock of sheep, and somebody advertises him and opens the door at the throne, which tells you, when God wants to promote you, he can promote you through somebody who is basically even embellishing your resume. And I make that comment because when people would introduce me, I noticed in my notes here when I was speaking in San Diego, I'd listen to how they introduced me and sometimes they'd say things that weren't even in my resume. I printed it out for them and they'd say, well, he meets with presidents and prime minister, and he consults with CEOs and leaders, captains of industry. And I thought, no, no, actually I teach on seven mountains. But they introduced me in a way that was, like, embarrassing because they don't want to go up and say, well, I'm not that. But I realized almost everything they said started to manifest. And they were introducing me kind of like this in a capacity that was. They saw something, they said something, and actually it started to happen. So this theory that I'm trying to present to you is that the prophetic knows your future and it's okay for you to start to speak over your life, who you are, even though you have not yet attained unto it, because it helps to solidify the vision on the inside of you of who you're called to be. Your private battles are actually significant because even though nobody else is looking, God is watching and God is preparing you. This teaching is lancewallnut.com occupy lancewallnot.com occupy I've just got through point one in the introduction. There's a lot more to come.

Lance Wallnau’s style is energetic, informal, and direct. He uses personal stories, humor, and cultural references to make spiritual principles relatable, always circling back to the concept that God’s gifts and purposes require both faith and action—in speaking, believing, and stewarding what God has placed in each person.
This episode is a call to recognize, believe in, and boldly declare one’s God-given gifts—no matter your starting point. Prophecy, as presented here, is not just lofty prediction but practical partnership with the purposes of God, acted out in both the private and public spheres of life.
