Hey, y'.
Lauren LaRosa
All, what's up? It's Lauren LaRosa. And this is another episode of the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. This is your daily dig on all things pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby. Now, today we are back with a episode. I know I've been giving you guys a lot of conversations that shake the room because, lord, we have been all over the place. But today, I want to get into some news in real time. Y' all know before we get into the latest, we always check in behind the scenes of the grind. So let's do it back on the grind.
Nia
All right, y'.
Kal Penn
All.
Lauren LaRosa
So we came back off of that long break that the Breakfast Club took, but you guys didn't even feel it over here because, of course, I kept the episodes coming here on the podcast. The Latest with Lauren LaRosa. And thank you guys for tuning in. We've done numbers across the episodes, even across social. My conversation with Deb Antne, that exclusive sit down, a really in depth one, honestly, and she doesn't do much of those, has picked up very well. And I've. I've received a lot of feedback back just from people who love the interviews that we do here at the Latest. So I hear you guys. I appreciate you guys. I see y' all on social all in the comments, low riders whenever I'm posting things from the podcast. So keep doing what y' all do because it lets me know what y' all like and what y' all want to hear. Not even going to lie to you guys, though, this week, getting back to work at the Breakfast Club after being technically out of work at the Breakfast Club for a week, even though we were still working, we were at Essence Festival, we were at the BET Awards, and it's been a little rough. I ain't going to hold y', all, like, you know, getting up out of bed at 4:15, 4:30 in the morning on a good day when I ain't running late. And just, you know, there's a lot of mental preparation that I, I try and do. Now before I hop on the mic for the latest with Lauren the Rosa, whether it's here on the podcast or on the Breakfast Club. And a big part of that is because, I don't know, like, I, I feel like seeing how people who are Doing this at a really high level and have been for some years that are very successful, like Envy, Charlemagne, Oprah, and, y' all know, I watch a ton of podcasts, too. So I'm watching, you know, people do this at such a high level all the time. The feeling that I get when I walk away from watching them do what they do is the feeling that I want the people to get. And I think over this last week of me ripping and running at all these different places and getting to interact with all of you guys in real life, I just. I'm really grateful, and I'm really appreciative, and I tell y' all that every episode. And I don't just do it because it's our tagline and how we wrap up the podcast. It's really a true meaning. Like, I'm honestly grateful to be on this journey to. To learn and to understand where my voice sits in the world of all of the media and all of the things. So that that impact that I feel as I'm watching these greats that I mentioned and listening to these greats that I mentioned is the same thing that you guys feel every single time you press play on an episode. Here on the latest with Lauren, the rose of the Pod, the Breakfast Club, the View. Wherever you see me at, I want you to feel that. So there's a different mindset. There's a different flow state I have to tap into, you know, just to keep myself not alone. I wouldn't say keep myself aligned, because I feel like, you know, God does that. Like, that is like a divine thing. That is not anything that human or man can control. It's. It's more.
Sam J
So
Lauren LaRosa
just making sure I'm quieting the noise to. To understand the why, not understand, but to always put the why, any intention first, regardless. If we just having a good time, we doing little Kiki, we getting all in the business just understanding that. So, you know, coming back into this week of work and. And not really having the break of it, I had to, like, really use and pull from all of the people that I met and all the experiences I've had over this last week to do that. And I think one of my favorite things that I, like, ever, ever, ever, like, people think I just like being out and ripping and running because Brown Girl grinding is the motto. And, you know, we on the grind right now. We building, and this is the season for that. But, no, it energizes me and it keeps me going. Like I told y' all it was for anybody else having a full week off and having to get back up at 4am again right after that and really not really taking a break, honestly would have been difficult. But for me, when I'm out and about and I'm talking to you guys and I'm getting to see like what it is that you care about, what impacts you that we care about or we talk about and just the excitement and the joy. I asked the question all the time on this podcast, especially in the earlier days of it, are we impacting people? Like, is what I'm doing every single day leaving an impact that people can really feel? And I think when I'm out and about, I feel that. And it's what I'm trying to say in so many words because y' all know I can get wordy. Is that the motivation, the inspiration that is really felt when I'm on the ground, when I'm outside with the folk. So that's why I love bringing those conversations back here to you guys when I do have them and get a chance to experience them. Because if I feel the motivation, the inspiration and the push to keep going, keep dreaming, keep figuring all the things out, I want you guys to feel that as well too. I'm back, baby. We are back on the podcast. Bring you the latest. Let's get on into it.

hey everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Irsay, The Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast I'm sitting down with Divergent author Veronica Roth to talk about her sprawling new novel, Seek the Traitor's Son. It's a sci fi fantasy epic about two protagonists on opposite sides of a war and a prophecy neither of them wanted.
Veronica Roth
My first book was Divergent and when that came out, like, because it was so popular, I think it attracted like mostly positivity, but the negativity I sucked in like a sponge. And I think it was like critiques of things I liked. When I was like, you know, I was 23 and I wrote this book and it had all my like dorky little cheesy or maybe unrealistic loves in it and I started to feel a lot of shame about those things things. And so for the rest of my career I steered away from those little things that like make you feel pleasure when you read. But I also was like saying no to these parts of myself that I then was like, screw it. Yeah, so that's this book.

Oh, talk about being outside and all of the things Cheetah Girls. The Cheetah Girls and I don't know how depends on how old you are. If you're listening to this right now, the Cheetah Girls movie is back, baby. The Cheetah Girls are reassembling. So Raven Simone, Disney Channel star, entrepreneur, icon, in my opinion, Raven Simone announced that Cheetah Girls 4 is happening. So it will be with Raven Simone in the original cast. So, yes, Raven Simone, Adrien Bine, Sabrina Bryan, Lynn Whitfield, Lloyd Alter, they are all coming back at the time. Keely is not attached. Keely Williams is not attached to the film. I wasn't really surprised about that, to be honest. But it would have been nice to see her in it. I think it would have been nice to see all the girls together. But if you've been following, you know, her journey, post Cheetah Girls and post some of the Disney Channel stuff, you know, there have been some hiccups there. So. So yeah. But anyway, the movie is coming back. It's going to be called the Cheetah Girls Next Gen and it was officially green lit right as Raven Simone broke the news. So the storyline for the film is picking up right when the Cheetah Girls Galleria, who's played by Raven Simone, and Chanel, who's played by Adrian Balon. They have kids and their daughters, Faith, who is new to the franchise, and her three friends traveled Africa to volunteer at a Wildfire Wildfire Sanctuary. At a Wildfire Sanctuary. Now, along the way of all this volunteering and traveling, the four girls test their friendship, find their voice and discover the Choo Ch, the true Cheetah Girl spirit as they preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girl. So this is Raven Simone's second return to Disney Channel as one of her previous characters. You guys will remember, she did Raven's Home. I think it was like. Yeah, it was. It was five or six seasons. It was six seasons of Raven's home in 2017. And that went on from 2017 to about 2023. And that was a spin off of that. So Raven, which is another archive show that is just like, the essence of a lot of our, like, childhoods. Like, the Unks are so excited because this weekend Jay Z is in New York. He got the three shows at Yankee Stadium. It's gonna be lit, okay? But when I see them get excited and they talking about laying they outfits out and can't wait to sing the songs and all that, I get it. But, you know, we encountered Jay Z. Like, we didn't grow up on him because they. The UNCS is old, okay? We encountered him eventually later in our lives and through lessons and through interviews and through the love of entertainment and hip hop and all the things. But I understand what it's like to grow up on something because let me tell you this, there are two moments in this last two weeks that made me realize what staple feeling and moments from youth and impacts really are in entertainment. And it can be small things, right? Like, you don't gotta be solving some of the biggest world problems. Sometimes it's just putting a good feeling and a comfort feeling in somebody's heart that will last forever. And I know that's what hip hop and music does for people. But let me tell you about the two moments when I went to the BET Awards and Lauryn Hill was honored and they sung Joyful, Joyful from Sister Act 2. I used to sing that movie down. You could not tell me I was not in that movie. That was one of the, like, I remember watching and singing along with that movie and seeing all those black kids on the screen and Lauryn Hill and being like, oh, this is dope. Like, rap, hip hop is in a movie. Like, at a young age, I understood why the crossover of that was so phenomenal and so fire and just how big that movie was. And then the Cheetah Girls, Disney Channel, and seeing these young black girls, it was almost like the feeling of Moisha, like, seeing these young black girls in this, you know, mainstream pop culture space and, you know, having a good time, telling stories, making friends, laughing, singing, dancing and learning all the songs and singing along with them. Yeah, just it. It's hit home. And I know a lot of y' all probably like, oh, that's about the Cheetah Girls, Lauren. One of them things. If you know, you know. Ain't nothing for you I can do. If you don't know. If you know, you know. So I'm excited to see that, honestly. I'm excited too, to. To just see the world. The world's reaction once it actually drops. There was a big reaction when Raven Simone made the announcement. And she had been trying for some years to just like, stay in contact with cats. I remember she was doing like Instagram lives with some people and you know what I mean? Like, we, we've been waiting on these things and now they're finally here.

Speaking of the girls being outside our sisters over at the Poor Minds podcast, Lex Andrea sat down with Shannon Sharp on Club Shay Shay first of all, I'm really proud of them. I you know in this podcast space I'm always honest with you guys about the fact that we are on a journey like we are a little over our first year in the podcasting game and learning. You know us as a community. Me, y', all the lowriders, the lowrider family. So I love watching other podcasters build out and elevate and just see how they maneuver in business. And you guys know I did Poor Mind's live show Here in New York when they came, great experience. But I was there just watching them and see how, like seeing how they, you know, brought things from the podcast onto the live stage and how production went down and how people, like, I mean people knew everything, down to the slogans that they open and close their podcast with, with. And being a person that has always loved talk shows and wanted a talk show, now we got the latest. I, I understand that, like I, I, I understand the tagline, I understand the marketing, I understand the branding around that. But to see it in real life, like to be listening to a podcast for some time and to watch it grow, then to see in real life, it's just beautiful to see. And now these girls are on this press run, you know, talking about the podcast in our lives. And what I love the most is that these were two regular girls, college graduates, fine ass girls who just chose the dream, got together and were consistent and figured out and they talked about that on the episode and the motivation that that gives them. This is such a, I told y', all, I come off of these trips and all these outings very motivated and inspired. This is such a motivation, motivational episode. Let's take a listen to Lex Andrea from Poor Minds talk about just the building of their podcast over the years and being a regular girl. As I popped out to do it,
Nia
Carlos has been amazing. Like, I feel like he's been an instrumental part of our career because he kind of gave us the opportunity, you know what I mean? When we were still filming at my apartment, before we were ever even in the studio, he pulled up to my apartment and recorded with us.
Lex Andrea
Yeah, he was on leave. Y' all live your living room floor.
Brittany
Yes, he was, literally.
Nia
And then like a few years later, the show grown. The show grown.
Brittany
That's all right.
Nia
It's that brown. The show had grew a little bit more. And then he, you know, offered for us to come on 85 South. So we went on 85 south and that really like catapulted our show to another level because I think that episode got like a million views in like two or three days.
Lex Andrea
Yes.
Brittany
Yeah.
Nia
And so that helped us get a lot more viewership. And then they ended up asking us did we want to sign to them. Cuz they were trying to start a management company and we were gonna be the first people that they signed. So they signed us. We was kind of like they guinea pigs a little bit. But it ended up working out amazingly and Carlos and 85 south have just been such a blessing in our lives.
Brittany
With the show, they really cleaned up our business too. Like we didn't know what we're doing, what we were doing. But they have taught us so much and like we were getting so many no's and Carlos was the one. Yes. And it's crazy because all them nos came back like, hey, when that finishes up, y' all can come over here. We're like, yeah, so you had your chance. That's. And we're proof that all you need is one yes. I'm cool with all these no's because I know once I get that one
Lauren LaRosa
yes, it'd be up now this one, this, this next topic. Because the interview was like they talked. It was a three hour long interview. A little bit over three hours. Honestly, almost like three and a half hours they talked about. Or was it two and a half child. It was a long interview, but it didn't feel long because it felt like you were just listening to them go down the line of like topics and stuff like that on their show. So and, and Shannon Sharp was smart. So in the beginning of the interview they open up, they talk a lot about their journey themselves, how they met, how they formed the podcast, got the business going, their mindsets. So it really helped you understand them because then they went into their takes on different topics. Right. So they get into Daphne Joy and. And if you guys are not familiar with who that is, that is the mother of $0.50 youngest son Cyr Sire Cyr. She was in a relationship with Diddy and they're more recently, not too long ago was a sex tape that leaked of her and Diddy doing one of the freak offs that we've heard so much about with the red lights with a male escort went super viral. And now Daphne Joy has been on this press run. It's like business. I don't know what the business she's in, like if that's really booming because she's an only fans girl. She says that it is, but she's been on press runs that I don't think would have been possible without that sex tape being posted. And the board minds girls got into that. Let's take a listen.
Nia
Women are always judged more harshly when it comes to anything that we do. A black woman who was in that situation wouldn't be on a press run right now. If I'm being honest. People wouldn't be invited her on they shows. They'll be like, she's a. Yeah.
Brittany
I think this just goes to show what we deal with as black women. You know, this is no shade To Daphne. I think when you have a moment, you take it.
Lex Andrea
Absolutely.
Brittany
You know, she's on Cam Newton podcast. That's an ad. I know an ad when I see one. I'm not mad at her. That's what you supposed to do. But seeing the reaction of people, the way they treat her even. There ain't no tapes outside of me and Dre doing nothing. But the way people act towards us just because we talk about our dating experiences.
Lex Andrea
Yes.
Brittany
And we get treated like, oh, my gosh, you would have thought that we killed somebody's mother or something like. Or fuck they mama. Even with, like, how the way they treat Megan thee stallion, you know, because of her lyrics or things like that. And it's like, they treat us like we are just the worst thing ever. Then you have this woman who has a sex save. She getting not one, but two Niggas ain't no. That's what you like to do, whatever the situation may be. But they're like, oh, you see how feminine she is and how soft and how beautiful and how this and that. It's just like, are y' all for real right now? Y' all dead ass. But this is, like, I said, no shade to her. It's very. It's just interesting. Yeah, it's interesting.
Lex Andrea
Barry, Go ahead. I'm listening.
Nia
I was just gonna say, like, I feel like we haven't seen a black woman be in a situation like that and get the same type of attention and notoriety.
Lex Andrea
Well, she ain't gonna become no billionaire, if that's what you're asking. Well, she.
Brittany
She said she was like. When people are comparing her to Kim Kardashian, she was like, I love that. That's what she said.
Lex Andrea
Well, I hope she get a product line. I hope she get a skincare line and come out with some skims or what it was. Skims and Spanx and all. I guess they can call it dance, whatever it is.
Nia
Dance is practice crazy.
Lauren LaRosa
Dance is crazy. Dance is crazy.
Nia
She has to see this and be like, notice
Lauren LaRosa
completely. I said that about the conversations they have. And, you know, even. I mean. And mind you, their podcast is like. It's just like girl talk, honestly. Like, they mix and trend the topics and stuff like that, but it really feels like you just with your homegirls having a good time, having a good conversation, but they do get into relationship stuff and sexual things that. They're not afraid of that at all. And they're very beautiful girls. The bodies be brought in. Okay. I love the poor mindset girls. I love Lex, Andrea. Because in real life, they're real girls. Like, and y' all, like, what does that mean? You gotta clarify that in 2026. I don't mean the crazy stuff. What I mean by that is, like, it's not like they're caricatures of themselves. Like, in real life, they're fun. They're girls. Girls. They like to have a good time. They like a good Kiki, a good drink, a good. You know what I love? Girls who are, like, ambitious, get to the money, got their brands together, can figure it out, but also cute fashion, can pop out, have a good time, then get back to the business. Really. Like, the essence of brown girl grinding is that so? The way sometimes that I see people react to their podcast and talk about them, I'm like, that's so insane to me. Because some of our biggest influential celebrities started, like, everything was sex based. And I know people instantly bring up, like, Kim Kardashian in a situation like this. And I know that in the beginning, Kim Kardashian wasn't. It wasn't what it was now. Like, I remember Kanye having to go off on people because he would be invited to different fashion things, and they wouldn't want her in a room because she was the reality star with the sex tape, but she was able to overcome it and build really, really, really big business from it. And when I look at podcasts like call her daddy and things of that nature, I compare it to, like, conversations that people have about also the horrible decisions podcast as well, too, which is also, like, girls talk very. They get sexual. They're a lot more sexual than poor minds is, honestly. But there.
Brittany
There's a.
Lauren LaRosa
There's a thing there. And I think a lot of times as black women, when we point out certain things that we feel within ourselves that, like, it's unspoken word. Like, it's. You don't even got to say it amongst us, we just know. But when you say it out loud, people hate to hear you express what you're actually going through as if you don't understand what's happening to you in real time. Right? So, yeah, they got a lot of pushback for the. For this clip, and I'm glad that they. They stood ten toes down on it. Like, I saw Lex post in response to it. Like, I knew that y' all was gonna be calling me everything but a child of God once this interview dropped. Interview was great, though, in my opinion. They also talked about women having standards and how people try to make women feel bad for having standards about who and how they date. Let's take a listen.
Lex Andrea
So you said you guys, like, when you were younger, you felt a sense of entitlement, that you were entitled to a guy, that at a certain level now, you no longer feel that way. Is there a certain number that you feel a guy should make or need to make in order? Because like you said, you guys have your own now, so you don't have to accept anything.
Nia
Yeah, I feel like we just at least need to be equally old. Like, you need to at least be making what I'm making or better you making.
Lex Andrea
Y' all making better money.
Brittany
That's what I'm crying.
Lex Andrea
That big bus ain't no whammies.
Sam J
Yeah.
Nia
Facts. So I need a big daddy.
Lowe's/Milo's Money Advertiser
Yes.
Brittany
Yes, that.
Nia
Yes. That's what I'm looking for.
Lex Andrea
So I guess with that case, ain't nobody splitting no bills, you know?
Nia
No, I mean, I. I will say this. I used to say that. But I do feel like once you get to a certain level of money, who really cares? I don't think rich people have conversations about that. I ain't rich yet. I don't think rich couples, like, when the woman is making money and the man is making a lot of money, I don't think they're arguing about who paying the light bill.
Lex Andrea
Okay.
Brittany
Literally, like, I think those conversations about splitting the bills are so, like, I
Nia
like it for people who need to split the bills.
Brittany
Right. And that's okay. There's nothing wrong with splitting the bills. But the type of lifestyle that I imagine myself whenever I'm married and I'm having kids. Yeah. That's not what I've ever imagined for myself. It's not gonna be like, oh, my gosh, I paid it this month. You paid it? Just take it out the pot.
Lex Andrea
Right?
Brittany
It's a lot more where that came from.
Nia
We don't have a joint account.
Brittany
Come on.
Lex Andrea
Oh, we are. Oh, yeah.
Nia
We don't have a.
Lex Andrea
Okay, just check it. Just making sure we on the same pain, cuz.
Lauren LaRosa
Everything ain't no.
Ari Chambers
Everything ain't going.
Lex Andrea
Ain't being dumb in this pot.
Brittany
Come on now.
Lex Andrea
This ain't no gumbo.
Brittany
We see it.
Lex Andrea
Hey, I'mma keep the shrimp and the ogre over here now. If you want put some.
Brittany
You better keep it. The sausage over.
Lex Andrea
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nia
I feel you.
Brittany
Yeah.
Nia
Everything ain't going to be in one pie.
Brittany
Yeah, I agree.
Lex Andrea
But what happened? Because it seems to me, and I could be wrong, and if I'm wrong, guys correct me. Whatever happened to growing with a Man, a man doesn't have anything. He's planted, and you watch him. And y' all grow together. It seems now everybody wants already. Already grown the fruit. I can just go pick the apples or the pears or whatever the case. The fruit already. Nobody wants to grow anymore.
Nia
I do think that that's a little messed up that people have that mentality these days. But I don't know. As a woman in my 30s, you should be built. You should be grown already, like. Cause I feel like, what have you been doing all this time?
Veronica Roth
Yeah.
Nia
At 35, like, if. And just saying if I'm dating somebody that's the same age as me, like, what have you been doing all this time to where I need to work with you while you build. I think that when women are in their 20s, that's unrealistic because y' all are both trying to figure things out.
Sam J
Yes.
Nia
And I'm not saying that we still can't grow together.
Lex Andrea
Yeah. That's what I'm talking about.
Nia
You should still. But you should have something that you already coming with. I shouldn't just be over here, like, okay, well, he gotta get it together. Let me just.
Lex Andrea
No, no, no, no. I don't think nobody should be there to look if we. We run out of college or. Or, you know, hey, I'm trying to grow this right here. Okay. This is what we try to do. But I agree. I mean, but sometimes it's really hard because sometimes it takes people longer than others. Sometimes where some people can figure it out. 22. Some people maybe 25. Some people might take them 30. It's kind of, like, maturing.
Brittany
Yeah.
Lex Andrea
Some kids mature a lot sooner than others.
Nia
Yeah.
Lex Andrea
And some like, well, damn, he's mature at 13, 14, and here you are 25, and you still ain't mature.
Nissan/Orderly Meds Advertiser
Yeah.
Nia
And I do. I think it's different when you're growing with the person that you've been with for a long time or even if something is to happen, because you have situations where a woman is with a man and he's doing amazing, and then something ends up happening that's life altering. And then y' all are not in the same financial space that y' all once were in. And you gotta, you know, be there for him while he gets it back,
Lex Andrea
get back on his feet. Okay.
Nia
Get it back to where it was. I think that's okay. And that's understandable. Especially in a marriage.
Veronica Roth
Yeah.
Brittany
I just feel like when it comes to these money conversations, they tough. It really gets extremely interesting. But I also feel like, when you're in a relationship, like, being like, this ride or die thing, like, they try to put on black women. They make us feel so bad for it. But again, I'm about to be 37.
Lex Andrea
Yeah. Okay.
Brittany
I'm not saying that you have to be worth, you know, a million dollars, but also, you gotta have some money coming.
Lex Andrea
They gotta be worth at least a million. Who you fooling?
Knix Advertiser
Well, she ain't finding.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Come on.
Lex Andrea
Come on. Go ahead and toast this.
Nia
You see who said that and who did?
Brittany
Okay, but this is what I'm saying, though. You have to have some money coming in, right? Because my thing is, we are in this age where everybody's like, oh, I want to start from the bottom, and I want to grind. I want to go get it. Hey, when I quit my job, when poor mines was taking off, they literally had to force me out that job.
Lex Andrea
Yeah.
Brittany
They were like, you can't be here no more. You don't have the time. And I was like, I want my consistent check.
Lex Andrea
Yes.
Brittany
Y' all have to follow your dreams and go to work.
Lex Andrea
Yes.
Brittany
Nobody that's not supporting themselves. So I do think that, like, yeah, you can ride or die with somebody or whatever you want to do. Hold it. But y' all need to be making some money.
Lex Andrea
Yeah, but we need to be riding.
Brittany
Yeah. I done die four times.
Lex Andrea
Exactly.
Nia
Why we gotta die?
Lex Andrea
Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
Nia
I died a lot in my 20s, man.
Lauren LaRosa
Shout out to the people out here doing all the things. Like, honestly, like, I. That is. I tell my male friends all the time, I admire men because men are really good about setting their boundaries when it comes to dating, relationships, friendships, work, Work. They set their boundaries well and they stick to it. They compartmental. Compartmentalize, and they do. Like, I feel like women compartmentalized, too, but sometimes it's more for protection. And maybe men do it for protection as well, too. But the way that men do it, it allows them to, like, manipulate and get the best out of every. Any situation. And I. I don't always feel like for. I'm gonna just speak for myself as a woman. I don't always feel like me compartmentalizing does that for me. I do feel like I know very well how to work a room and work a situation, but I don't. Boundaries are as strong sometimes when it comes to certain things, like work, like, relationship boundaries, as I've seen men in my life be and how beneficial that is for them. Like, even a conversation of, like. Like, they. They were talking about in relationships, right? Like, what they want and not being allowed to say that but take it back to the workplace.

I think men in the workplace know when they're not getting what they deserve and they're not afraid to say it right then and there and nip it in the butt. Let's get straight to it, women. It's like we have to navigate the politics. Like there's so much politics in so many different compartments of our life. Like there's politics in dating and finding your person. You can't be too much, but you don't want to be belittled. You can't act like you own a table and you brought the table, even though you might have. Because you want a man and his ego and all the things that feel good, but at the same time you want to feel good about yourself. And I've always heard people say the right work situation, the right man, shoot. Even taking it out of relationships, like boyfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend, boyfriend, boyfriend, whatever. Taking it out of that, just taking it, even to friendships. I've always heard people say people will only treat you how you allow them, and people will only treat you how you feel like you deserve to be treated. But a lot of times as a woman, you won't allow certain things. Once we get to that point where we are finally sitting on the boundaries or you know that you deserve certain things, you'll be working toward it, you'll be talking about it, and you still got to play the politics, you still got to dance, you still got to play the game. Sometimes it's just different for us. I make that very clear with all of the men that I work with with all the time, especially because my job is so vocal. And there's a lot of times where, you know, I'm in different rooms and men are like, you should speak out about this. You got the platform. And I'm like, you can do that as a man. But for me, even if I do do it, I have to sit and think through so many different things that men don't think about. Like, the sensitivity of things. Men think about that completely different. And they have the privilege to, like, child. It's a whole lot that goes into it. But this interview, I thought was very. It was. It was a great interview, A great way to interview personalities because it was an interview and we learned a lot about them, but we also got to hear and see them do their thing in real time. It was literally like a crossover episode. It felt like the Poor minds podcast took over Club Shay Shay for a crossover episode. And that's eventually how they ended up titling the interview when they posted it. Probably because they felt that way. So shout out to them. Make sure you guys go and check that out. Through the lens of viral media moments and real conversations among women podcasters, Loren and her guests challenge listeners to reassess double standards, define their own values, and stay motivated on the “grind.” The candid exchanges blend humor with hard truths, making it a compelling listen for anyone interested in modern dating, media, and the evolution of women’s voices in culture.
