Lauren came in hot. Hey, y' all, it's Lauren LaRosa. And this is the latest with Lauren LaRosa. Everything you need. Entertainment, news, exclusives, and the conversations that shake the room. Today, I'm bringing you guys an update, like, live outside of the courthouse of the State Department, where Sean Diddy Combs is awaiting to find out what 12 people will say happens for the rest of his life. Now, when I say 12 people, I'm talking, of course, about the jury. Now, the jury has been in deliberations. Now, at this point, it is after 3pm on June 30, 2025, for over three and a half hours. So what happened this morning in court was the judge gave the jury instructions. One of the issues that came up in court today was juror number 25 got to the back where they're debating on guilty, not guilty, and said.
B
I.
A
Don'T need to do this. I don't need to sit and have these conversations. So it's inferred that that juror already knows how they feel, whether it's guilty or not guilty. So there was a jury note that came, and Diddy's attorneys and the prosecution with the judge consider this jury note. Prosecution was saying, look, this juror is going to be a problem because this juror is not following your instructions. Judge, this juror does not want to sit and have the conversations with the rest of the jury. Diddy's team is saying, look, when we read this note, we don't read this as this juror cannot follow instructions. The minute I heard that, I said, oh, this is a juror. That the, that the. The defense feels like it's going to be a Diddy juror. Right. The judge says, I don't want to be the judge that tells a jury member you can't determine how you feel in whatever amount of time.
B
Okay, so now real quick, another thing that happened after we actually filmed this video. So a little bit after 4 o' clock, closer to 5 o' clock, there was another jury note that was brought out from the jurors from the chamber they were in as they were deliberating. Now, in the second note, it asked about drug distribution. Question was, if an individual asks for a controlled substance and the person hands it over, is it distribution? As the prosecution is trying to argue that, it doesn't have to mean that you have a ton of drugs that you're moving place to place, state to state between people. You could have a personal amount of drugs, but if given to someone, that is considered distribution. Now, if I'm being completely honest with you guys, I think that this question right here might give us a hint to what juror 25's issue is. Right? Because it can go one of two ways. Juror 25 could be somebody who is like, I already know how I feel. I don't need to sit here. Go get in these conversations, consider things with you guys. I already know how I feel. And that can be messing up the process of how the jury is deliberating based on how they're, you know, like whatever they, whatever their process is going down that sheet that they were given, or maybe it's that not even that the juror is actually decided. Maybe the juror is undecided and everyone else is decided. So this clarifying question is very telling. It doesn't tell you exactly who's asking it. It just says that it comes from the jury. But I think that it's very telling that these are the first two questions from the jury that we get literally within hours. That first note came within not even an hour or so of the deliberations. I think we're getting close to a verdict. The judge, the judge dismissed the jury today and told them, you know, per your request, because they get to set their own schedule. Now we're going to adjourn you guys. It's 5pm you can go home. You'll get the answer to that question tomorrow. So we'll have to wait tomorrow to see how the question is answered. Of course, the government is. Is saying, like, tell them, yes, that's the answer to the question. Diddy's team is saying, look, we're not for sure how we want that worded, but of course, naturally, Agnafilio says, naturally, I believe we're going to object to the way that that question is answered. Like, we don't want to just go with the government is saying, so they'll figure it out. The jury will get the answer to that question first thing in the morning, and then they'll go straight back to deliberations. They're not even going to come into the courtroom when they get there at 9am tomorrow. They'll just go right into deliberation.
A
So now we wait. It's a waiting game now. People keep asking me, when do I think it'll come down. I think we will definitely have it by Wednesday, latest, Thursday before the holiday, because I think these jurors want to go home. I don't think people understand how taxing it is to be here. And I'm just someone sitting in an overflow room in the main court on good days. And I've been exhausted, I've been tired. It's a lot of information. I can't imagine being a jury member. So I know that they want to get out of here. I know they want to get home. So I do believe that this will happen before the holiday. But at this point, we just wait. That's all we can do. I'm Lauren LaRosa bringing you the latest with Lauren LaRosa. At the end of of the day, there is so much to talk about in so many places that you guys could be talking about it and learning and listening to it. But all of my low riders, y' all are always right here with me. I appreciate you guys for that. I will see you in my next episode. This is an I heart podcast.
The Latest with Loren LaRosa: Courthouse Update on Sean "Diddy" Combs Case
Episode Release Date: July 1, 2025
Introduction
In this episode of The Latest with Loren LaRosa, host Lauren LaRosa provides a comprehensive update on the highly publicized court case involving Sean "Diddy" Combs. Broadcasting live from outside the State Department courthouse, LaRosa delivers real-time insights into the latest developments, jury deliberations, and the potential implications for the entertainment mogul.
Current Court Updates
At the heart of today's discussion is the ongoing trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs, where the jury has been deliberating for over three and a half hours as of 3 PM on June 30, 2025. LaRosa reports,
“The jury has been in deliberations. Now, at this point, it is after 3pm on June 30, 2025, for over three and a half hours.” (00:12)
The atmosphere outside the courthouse is tense as spectators await the jury's verdict, which will determine Combs' future.
Jury Dynamics and Concerns
A significant point of discussion revolves around the behavior of one juror, identified as Juror Number 25. LaRosa explains the situation:
“Juror number 25 got to the back where they're debating on guilty, not guilty, and said. ‘Don’t need to do this. I don't need to sit and have these conversations.’” (01:04)
This declaration suggests that Juror 25 may have already formed a verdict, potentially disrupting the impartiality required in jury deliberations. The prosecution views this as problematic, arguing that the juror is not adhering to the court's instructions:
“Prosecution was saying, look, this juror is going to be a problem because this juror is not following your instructions.” (01:04)
Conversely, Diddy's defense team interprets the juror's note differently, believing it indicates a predisposition in favor of their client:
“The minute I heard that, I said, oh, this is a juror. That the defense feels like it's going to be a Diddy juror.” (01:04)
LaRosa emphasizes the judge's stance on the matter, highlighting the judiciary's reluctance to overstep in jury management:
“The judge says, I don't want to be the judge that tells a jury member you can't determine how you feel in whatever amount of time.” (01:54)
Legal Arguments and Jury Questions
Another critical development occurred later in the day, closer to 5 PM, when a second jury note surfaced. This note posed a nuanced legal question regarding drug distribution:
“If an individual asks for a controlled substance and the person hands it over, is it distribution?” (02:00)
The prosecution aims to broaden the definition of distribution, arguing that even small-scale transactions qualify, thereby strengthening their case. LaRosa analyzes the potential impact of this question on the deliberations:
“This clarifying question is very telling. It doesn't tell you exactly who's asking it. It just says that it comes from the jury.” (02:45)
She speculates that this inquiry may reflect underlying tensions within the jury, possibly hinting at Juror 25's influence or uncertainty among other jurors.
Host’s Analysis and Insights
Lauren LaRosa provides her perspective on the situation, underscoring the human element of jury service and the pressures jurors face:
“I think we will definitely have it by Wednesday, latest, Thursday before the holiday, because I think these jurors want to go home.” (04:22)
She empathizes with the jurors, acknowledging the emotional and intellectual demands placed upon them:
“I can't imagine being a jury member. So I know that they want to get out of here. I know they want to go home.” (04:22)
LaRosa anticipates a verdict before the upcoming holiday, suggesting that the jury is eager to conclude their duty:
“So I do believe that this will happen before the holiday. But at this point, we just wait. That's all we can do.” (04:22)
