Hey, y'. All, what's up? It's Lauren LaRosa. And this is the latest with Lauren LaRosa. This is your daily dig on all things pop culture, news, entertainment, exclusives, because y' all know I'll be bringing them and the conversations that shake the room, baby. Now, today, if we're checking, checking in behind the scenes of the grind, I am feeling empowered. People like to use the term new levels, new devils. I don't like to use that term because I don't even like to acknowledge the devil in all of the negative things that be thanking. But I will say that in new levels of business, there are new challenges. And I've talked about it here before on the podcast when we've checked in behind the scenes of the grind, because y' all know the behind the scenes of the grind stems from my motto, brown girl grinding. And I'd like to say here, when we explain this part of the segment, that people don't always check in on you when you grind and you making things look good. And you know what I mean, you moving and shaking. They don't always check in on you, and if they do, you don't. You're not always receptive to it. So I made it my mission to make sure I check in daily with you guys, the low riders. And we're in a new space, y'. All. We are well over a million listeners, well over a million low riders strong, and things are moving. We will be bringing back a video element to support this audio element of the podcast really, really soon. And there's just a lot of things going on. And in knowing that there are things happening and wanting to make sure that we are executing at the best level that we can here at the Latest with Lauren LaRosa and elsewhere, you know, on my brown girl grinding platform, which is make sure you guys follow us on Instagram. We'll also be building out in other places. It's, you know, it's motivation. It's all the tools you need for your grind, but it also keeps you up to date with what's happening in the world. Whenever I'm not here on the podcast and General As Lauren LaRosa, I just want to make sure I'm not fumbling in the ball, yo, if I'm being honest, I think about that all the time. There's always been conversations about, you know, it's not about how you get it. It's about how you maintain it and how you keep it. And especially, you know, coming from the family I come from and the community that I come from, and just all these things, I know how important it is to be able to have something to hand on back to my children, my niece to the world, but also be able to sustain. I think there's such a scarcity of mindset when you grow up in certain communities. And I was blessed to have a mother and a grandmother who, you know, I never felt lack. I never did. It wasn't until I even got older that I understood scarcity and what that was for black people, right? Period. So shout out to those women, because I never felt it. But as I got older and I realized what was going on and, you know, my mom needed the help. One of the things that I always said because my mom and my grandmother are entrepreneurs, was that I wanted to be able to scale business to a different level so that some of the hardships I saw them and, you know, go through, and some of the hardships they still go through today because our education levels are different, and just our exposure is different. I want to make things a softer lander for them. And I also want to make sure that when I get to a point where, you know, my kids and my nieces, my nephews, you know, all the things, the next generation of what my lineage looks like is able to see me and say, hey, here's how I wanna take it to the next level. They have something to go off of. I'm grateful to have had helping hands and, you know, not have had to start from zero because of that. But I've always been like, y' all wanna up it. Cause I ain't have everything. I was good, but we didn't have everything. And I just feel empowered to knock things out today. It also gets very frustrating. Cause you only got 24 hours in a day. But, child, that's a whole nother story for a whole nother episode. Cause I wanna get on in to the latest. Y' all know I love to take y' all to court. Love to take y' all now today in the latest. This is breaking news. This morning, the prosecutors have responded to Sean Combs, Team Diddy's team, and their request for bail. So they're hitting back at the mogul, and they're basically saying, listen, y' all are trying to downplay this man act conviction, as if it's just Nothing. Y' all are trying to downplay the whole transporting male escorts across state lines. You're trying to downplay the legal precedent on which the judge denied Diddy's bail. And y' all not gonna do that. Y' all not about to do that. You know what I'm saying? Because at the end of the day, the conviction was decided upon by the jurors, and it happened, and it's done. So in a filing that came down today, prosecutors said here they have different reasons for why Diddy should remain in jail. In response to everything that we've been talking about. If you have not caught those episodes, make sure you go and catch those episodes prior to this one on the latest with Lauren the Rosa. But if you subscribe, you're gonna get all the notifications. Shameless plug. But here are their reasons, right? Prosecutors are saying, look, I don't care what y' all talking about. Y' all are talking about he never had sex with the escorts. Y' all are talking about he never transported the escorts himself. Y' all are talking about, you know, these men had good relationships with his girlfriends at the time, and that's why they were there and all of these things. But the prosecutors point out, you guys failed to show the court any evidence to mitigate the crimes. Like, what they're saying is the prosecutors are basically saying y' all couldn't even make these crimes, like, in front of the jury, right? In court. What you guys are trying to do now in these documents, where you're, like, trying to downplay it and make his involvement so low and so nothing and just, you know, this was just a voyeurism lifestyle that he loved to live. You guys couldn't even prove that in court with hard evidence, so why bring it up now? We don't understand. They also cited two prior federal cases in which the judge denied defendants bail after they were convicted with the Man Act. Now, the prosecutors are saying that in both cases, they're almost the exact carbon copy of Diddy's case, because, number one, the defendants were also facing sex trafficking charges, but were only convicted of the man act violation. And the reason why, you know, according to prosecutors, you can say that these. These cases are very similar to Diddy is because in these cases, the person in question was also charged with sex trafficking. Sex trafficking did not stick. But they were convicted of Men act violations, and they were also kept and not released the same way Diddy is being. They were not given a bond. Then they talk about the whole, you know, John thing, right? Cause they're like, okay, a john in this is just somebody that is, you know, you're involved and you know you're not. You're not reaping much of the benefits of what a prostitution ring would be. Right? You're not, you're not transporting to people. It takes a lot of the heaviness off of your actions or your involvement in all of the things. So they say, okay, let's not act like we didn't show evidence in court that Diddy himself did in fact transport individuals for the purpose of prostitution on hundreds of occasions over the course of decades. The prosecutors say they also accused Diddy of being the person who supplied Cassie and Jane with the drugs to make sure they would participate in all of the freak off sessions. And because of the drugs which Diddy was also taking, they were terrorized. There were violent outbursts. There were things, there were repercussions. There were things that happened. Now, on the stand, Cassie testified about how bad the drug use was. She on the stand revealed, if you guys remember, that it was so bad, not only did she experience an overdose of sorts, but did he also overdose around the time that Whitney Houston had passed away? And we never knew this, the public never knew this. But when she got into how bad the drug addiction was on both of their parts, you really got to see this from a whole different light. And they're like, okay, let's not forget because you guys admitted to the violence and, you know, the, the random moods and all these things. And y', all, y' all talked about the drug use and you. And listen, while we were in court, Diddy's team, they did lean into drug use potentially, or at least to get over drug use at some point because they talked about there was a time where he was trying to, and had slowed down on his drug use and was trying to look out for Cassie and make sure she was doing the same. But they talked about this also in a way, that time period, in a way where it's like, okay, well, is that a reason why someone would have, like, random outbursts and like mood swings? So you guys admitted to the drug use and the things that come with it. But you're trying to make it seem like these random outbursts, they weren't terror to these women. And of course, you know, we, we knew that they were going to go here. We talked about this in the last episode. But they also bring up the $50 million, the bail package, which, you know, he's offered these sums of money prior to this as well. But he's re offering his 50 million dollar bail package. And they're like, look, offer whatever you want. Let's not forget the fact that Diddy has a history of violent behavior, which, again, y', all, his team leaned into. In the beginning of this, we saw on video, not only did we. And here's the thing. I think when the public talks about this whole Diddy situation, they focus a lot on the Cassie video that CNN released. And I understand why that video was super hard to watch. It was not okay. But when in court, that video paired with all of the photos that we saw of Cassie and we saw photos of, like, her bruises and all the different things from the beatings that she experienced. She got on the stand and she talked about some of those times and the things that she alleged. Diddy's team did try and shoot back at as much as they could. But a lot of it was like, there's nothing that you can do or say. Like, you can't deny that it happened. You can try and soften why it happened or the fact that she still returned to him after and all these things. But the prosecution nipped that in the bud quick. Number one, I feel like when. When Cassie's mom came on the stand and Diddy's attorney, Mark Agnifilio just came, introduced himself and said, we have no questions for you. That said everything you needed to say about Diddy's team and them understanding what all of that, even though Diddy's not on trial for domestic violence, but what all of that violence did to that family. So for then, I thought that it was crazy because it's like that happened. But the whole trial, you guys are downplaying the violence. You admit that it was bad, it shouldn't have happened, all these things, but he's not on trial for that. But let's talk about the fact that these women kept coming back. Let's talk about the fact that these women were trying to make careers, allegedly, these women. You know what I mean? All of those things. I don't know how Diddy ever gets around the Cassie beating video and all the things that we saw, the jury saw and heard in court. If I'm being honest with you guys, I made this prediction in my last episode. I don't think he's gonna receive this bail. I would be very shocked if he received it. Now, the day of the bond hearing, I was looking at it like, okay, he is not fake. Like, he's found not guilty on the most serious of these charges. Sure, let him out I wouldn't be surprised if they did. But once I heard the prosecutors present, you know, all the things that they basically just put in this document again, and then I heard the judge's response, because ultimately, it's up to the judge. Once I heard the judge's response, it was more so like a lack of respect and boundaries when it comes to the court and the violence. And I know because I've been in court watching and listening how fair this judge was. And Diddy admitted that in court. One of the few times we heard Diddy speak in court, it was him thanking the judge for doing such a good job and handling, you know, the proceedings so well. When I heard that, I was like, man, it's going to be so hard for Diddy to ever get around that. And that is why now, after seeing that and how that went down and thinking he might walk free until sentencing that day, I'm not convinced by Diddy's team's presentation at this point that Diddy will be getting a bail. I'm just not convinced at all. So we will be back with more in our next episode. Just want to give you guys a full breakdown of this new filing and what is happening, what will happen next. You're going to hear from the judge, but we need to hear from the judge on two things now. We need to hear from the judge on bail whether that will happen or not. We also need to hear from the judge because Diddy's team, they're asking for this case to be thrown out or for a new trial to happen. We're going to hear from the judge on that as well, too. And to be honest with you guys, I think the new trial is probably Diddy's best bet, even though nobody wants to have to do all that again. The only reason why I think it's his best bet is I think it just gives them more time to prepare an argument directly related to the things that keep getting them caught up, which is the violence and, you know, the perception of Diddy. I don't even know what they prepare in that new trial, to be honest with you guys, to get anything dropped. But, I mean, it gives them more time. It gives them another platform to represent the case, because I don't see this getting tossed out because there was clear evidence of what he's convicted for, because they're arguing that. They're basically saying, we see the same things that you guys see. But for it to have resulted in conviction of the man act, we don't think it should have went that far I don't listen. I always say I don't know, but then explain to y' all what I know, right y'. All. At the end of the day there's always a lot to talk about and I enjoy talking about these things with you guys so much.
