Let's get to it. Time to do it. I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything. And everybody knows you don't lie about that, right? Lauren came in hot. Back on the grinding. Hey, y', all, what's on Going up. It's Lauren LaRosa. And this is the latest with Lauren LaRosa. This is your daily dig on all things pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby. Now, today we are going to get into an exclusive because I broke a story via social media, literally while we were filming an interview at the Breakfast Club. But this was a story that we had talked about on air to today and I got an update and wanted to make sure I got it out there before it circulated elsewhere. So Portia Williams, Real Housewives of Atlanta, y' all know Portia Williams. Everybody loves Porsche. So she was on a flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta. This is her leaving BravoCon. You guys know she was just there doing all the things. And we see this video that TMZ breaks of Porsha Williams getting off of a flight with agents around her. We then later find out that these are FBI agents. So at that point, we don't know what's going on. Um, I reported this story today on the Breakfast Club. You can go check that out on the YouTube channel. Some of the background. But at the time that I reported the story, I didn't even know what had happened. So I reached out to federal agents in Atlanta, and the statement I received was, the FBI, Atlanta is aware of the incident on the flight allegedly involving Portia Williams. It is unknown at this time if federal charges will apply. Now, when outlets ran this headline, of course, you know, they leaned into the fact that federal agents are involved. For those of you guys who don't know my low riders, but some of you guys may know I was a flight attendant for Delta. I flew for. It was about a little bit close to nine months. And so the minute I saw that the headline stating federal agents and the flight and all the things, I was like, oh, that's easy. She must have been on board the aircraft or they were at a certain point in taxi or takeoff when whatever incident occurred. Because for most airlines, I know I can speak for Delta anyway, depending on where you are in flight, automatically it can become federal jurisdiction. So that's the reason why federal agents were involved. And then in the video that we see, she's, you know, coming off the plane and they're around her. So I then received a statement from Portia's attorney clearing up what happened. So this was Sunday. She was flying back from Vegas to Atlanta, and she was able. Delta released a statement saying there was an incident with two passengers on board who were then able to continue their flight on to Atlanta. Porsha Williams, attorney gave me this statement exclusively. They alleged Portia Williams was verbally assaulted by an irate and unhinged passenger without being provoked. They then alleged that the passenger proceeded to make false allegations that were in direct conflict with observations from several eyewitnesses. As with any incident occurring on board an aircraft, federal authorities are required to conduct an investigation involving all parties to determine what, if any, offenses occurred. Portia Williams has every intention to cooperate with the law enforcement to whatever extent necessary, and remains confident that the passenger will be charged. So, again, that's more details. We don't know exactly what the chain of events are that lit up or kind of what that interaction was. But I'm going to go back and I'm going to ask for more details because we'll also be talking about this following this episode that you guys are listening to here on the Latest with Lauren LaRosa on the Breakfast Club, but also back here on the podcast as well. But I will tell you one thing. Portia, no matter where she is at and what she is doing, she's just so beautiful and so lively. So I'm watching this video of her being removed. So I'm watching this video of her coming off of this plane, and I'm like, not my girl. Hair still looking good, face beat, smile on. She looks up like as if she sees the camera, and she smiles. And I mean, that's how you got to do it if you. At this point, she is trained for the things. And Bravo Con has been such a big conversation speaking about being trained for the things, because this is where all of the big reality stars, all the big Bravo stars meet up. They have conversations. Uh, you had Dr. Wendy there addressing the legal allegations for fraud against her and her husband with Zori Hall. Um, a lot of people there. You also had Andy Cohen drop a bomb. He was. I don't believe he was caught off guard and slipped up in a conversation, because it's Andy Cohen. He knows what he's doing. Like, we literally have Bravo Khan in the Bravo verse. Okay. A lot of y' all want to talk about all of this, you know, Comic Con and the. The. The multiverses and all the things with, like, the spider mans and the Supermans and. Look, I don't even get into all the mans. One thing I could talk to you about is the Bravo verse. So he's speaking to an outlet on the carpet at an event at BravoCon. And Andy Cohen slips up and tells us K. Michelle is going to be coming to Real Housewives. Let's take a listen. Who's my favorite Atlanta housewife? Portia, Kelly, Shamia, Angela, Phaedra, K. Michelle and angel and Pinky. So K. Michelle is on the stove. I don't know. Did I just confirm that? I gotta go. And a lot of the headlines that ran around this video were like, andy Cohen slips up and Andy Cohen surprisingly unveils. And I'm like, what Andy Cohen y' all talking about? Because Andy Cohen ain't slipping up nothing. I feel like that was planted. There has been rumors for some months that K. Michelle was going to be joining the Housewife franchise. Real Housewives of Atlanta has K. Michelle from loving hip hop on their show. Okay. You had to clarify that, though. Okay, but we gonna speak to that, but go ahead. And Mary Medicine has Angel from Basketball Wives on their show. Atlanta has run out of people. Angel, Basketball. She was a nurse. Really pretty girl. Who is she? Who was the basketball wife she's married to? Are any of them ever married? We're dealing with. I don't know. I just know that she was on Basketball Wives, like, a number of seasons ago, but. And it might have been like, the la. Is. Is married to Madison, supposedly allegedly filming now. Are they filming? I guess so. I saw a. I saw a picture of her filming a confessional for Married to Medicine. Oh, wow. Okay. So we are. We mentioned in recycling. That's what it looks like. So that's. I'm like, out of all the people in Atlanta now, they're like, I. I really thought the. The network or the shows tried to, like, avoid crossovers from different networks. True. But I am like, Atlanta is running out of people. Well, because you're using people from other networks now. But that's when I. But 85. It stays on traffic. So they're not running out of people. They got plenty of people in Atlanta. Right. With six lanes but two lanes across. Yes. I do want to say. And the traffic is traffic morning, noon, and night. Like, it don't stop. Yeah. Okay, let's talk about K. Michelle. Really Quickly. And this is allegedly. We do not know, because it has not been said officially that she's on the show. I'm not mad at it. I feel like at first I was like, what? K. Michelle. That don't. That's weird. But out of the love and hip hop, because, you know, I'm a love and hip hop girl. So out of the love and hip hop world, there are very few people that I feel like have left that behind them and have gone on to do so many other things that it really wasn't a factor. But she was already somebody before love and hip hop. She was already who she was before 11. Hip hop. Is that a question? No, no, I'm telling you. Oh, you're telling me. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So I think those type. Those people can come and go. Okay. And then you have people. You know, Cardi B is one who was pretty much created on Love and hip hop. Yes. And now she's somebody else. But I think King Michelle already had her career. That's what I'm saying. So her being a housewife, she's married now. Her being a housewife, I. I'm not mad at it. So you're saying love and hip hop doesn't define her. Exactly. That's. That's what I was trying to say. Okay. So I'm. I'm actually here for it. Okay. For. For. For K. Michelle. Okay. If that is happening, allegedly. But I hear what you're saying. Yeah, yeah. Okay. No, it just like when I saw that and then it was it K. Michelle. I was like, okay, that's interesting. And then it was when I saw this other girl, angel was filming Marriage Medicine. I'm like, okay, what is going on here? They didn't. Ran out of people. Out of people. Okay. What's up, y'? All? It's Big Loom from It's Up There Podcast. In this powerful episode, we're breaking down the danger of silence and how. Way too many of us are taught to protect a vibe instead of protecting ourselves. A pipe bomb explodes in the front seat of environmental activist Judy Berry's car. I knew it was a bomb the second that it exploded. I felt it rip through me with just a force more powerful and terrible than anything that I could describe. In season two of Rip Current, we ask who tried to kill Judy Berry and why she received death threats before the bombing. She received more threats after the bombing. The men and women who were hurt had planned to lead a summer of militant protest against logging practices in Northern California. They were climbing trees and they were sabotaging logging equipment in the woods. The timber industry, I mean, it was the number one industry in the area. But more than it was the culture, it was the way of life. I think that this is a deliberate attempt to sabotage our movement. Episodes of Rip Current Season 2 are available now. These are the lovely hosts of the Reasonably Shady podcast. They are our Black Effect cousins. So some time ago, because again, this has been rumored for some time that K. Michelle was coming back to reality TV on Real Housewives of Atlanta. And since that rumor broke, so K. Michelle let us know. Again, she's been dropping little bits and pieces and then finally she just let it all out. Like, it was like randomly one day she mentioned being married and I'm like, K. Michelle is married. Like, everybody I think was like, wait, what? K. Michelle was married? Since when? And then she started posting about the fact that she's was making country music and just kind of some of the battles that she was dealing with. So K. Michelle Posted back on August 19th, I'm not in the best space all the time. I'm human. I'm very difficult when I record, very precise, very overwhelmed with my career, being a mother and the pressure of giving my husband, my husband a baby immediately. Then she put in parentheses something I want to do for him in entering a new genre of music. Not only that, I'm about to release my soul album. Country music is my soul. Thank God to my team who knows me and has sheltered me. My music understands my passion. So then she goes, you know, she's talking about her music or whatever, but from then on out, it's like, okay, K. Michelle is married. Like, this is a thing. So when I saw, you know, her beginning to open up about her relationship, her marri marriage, I'm like, maybe there is something to this whole Kate Michelle might be the because there were supposed to be two new members of Real Housewives of Atlanta at one point, and people were saying, oh, it was Phaedra coming back this season. And then K. Michelle. But K. Michelle never appeared on a season. So when I saw this, I'm like, well, maybe there's something to it. And we know, the last few seasons, in my opinion of Real Housewives of Atlanta just haven't been like they need. They need a stir up or a mix up, but it needs to feel as authentic to reality tv, to Atlanta reality TV as it can be. One of the things I will say so Gisele Bryant and Robyn Dixon on Reasonably Shady podcast, you know, they mentioned how they felt about certain things. Right. And one of the things I will say about K. Michelle, first of all, she's damn good TV because she's very honest, she's very authentic. But at the same time, it's just not about it being for the cameras. Like K. Michelle is really K. Michelle. It's a very weird space to own. And I think a lot of celebrities today, especially reality stars, don't know how to do that. I think that's why when we watch Real Housewives of Atlanta, we still love the Portia Williams, we still love the Kenya Moores. You know, we want to see Cynthia Bailey. I think Drew came around to getting there toward, you know, a few seasons into Real Housewives of Atlanta. But a lot of the newer girls on the show, I know people loved Angela Oakley because they said that they felt like she was one of the OG Girls because I think she has a lot of that balance. But I think a lot of girls who are new in reality TV that don't come from celebrity or reality TV or both the way that a K. Michelle would, they're not going to bring what you need to be brought to make the people return to loving Real Housewives of Atlanta. I'm telling y' all now, if you put K. Michelle on a season and allow us to watch, you know, her new life with her husband, who we don't know, and you know her, she's talking about wanting to have a baby and build a family. And, you know, she's also doing the music thing along with Portia Williams. If Kenya Moore decides to come back, I know she said, you know, and definitely that she's not, but if that's a thing, I think Real Housewives of Atlanta has a shot. I think the Housewives of Salt Lake City and Potomac. Potomac. For real. For real. They just snatched the girls up a little bit. The attention has been there, but I think K. Michelle, you know, has a really good chance of bringing storylines back to where they need to be. On Real Housewives of Atlanta. I am super excited. And I do not think. I agree with Gisele Bryant. I do not think that anything in relation to K. Michelle on Love and Hip Hop will define who K. Michelle will be on Real Housewives of Atlanta. But also K. Michelle on love and hip hop, low key is a little bit with Atlanta need. They need to bring it back to. There's some reality in this reality. Like I think she's going to be the perfect shakeup. And I think she also has, she just naturally has a storyline. It's been K. Michelle versus everybody, unfortunately for a really long time. And, and when I say that, I don't mean that she doesn't have fans and she's not talented because I think K. Michelle doesn't get it enough about how talented she is, how she's able to dance in and out of R B and country and soul and all these different music genres because that girl sings, she sang, sang. But what I mean is like, you know, she, she has her battle within the country music arena. I also think because she is very outspoken and doesn't let people run all over her, she's had to face other battles as well that we've seen play out throughout her life. She's also battled health and she had her show on Lifetime where she took you through all her surgeries and she was very honest about that. And you know where to left her health wise and helping other women. And she just has a lot of complexity to her that I think that show really needs. And there's actual depth there, like substance there. I think in real life she is in love with the man and wanting to open new chapters in her life because she this relationship and his husband and his idea to build his family was there way before we even knew it was a thing. Way before the, the Real Housewives, you know, cameras got to rolling from what we know of. So to see it play out on camera, I don't think it's going to change. Like they're not doing it for the gram, they ain't doing it for the storyline. I think she is well beyond that because she has been doing this for some time and I am excited, excited to see something like a K. Michelle that type of authenticity. And you know, even though reality TV to a certain extent is there, you know, it's the magic of television. They make it work. They do what they got to do. They make it work. Portia, I think the reason why, even if you love to hate Portia, you love to hate her, you still gonna watch her because you feel connected to her storyline. You feel connected to her good, her bad, her ugly, her message. She knows how to work it. Okay, K. Michelle gonna give it to us. So I'm looking forward to seeing K. Michelle on Real Housewives. Of Atlanta. And Andy cone didn't slip up. He knew exactly what he was doing because he knew we was going to exactly do this. All the girls who love the house that Nene Leakes built. And I would love to know what Nene Leakes thinks about K. Michelle. It was k. Michelle rolling out like she was, like, slow rolling out her husband. But then also, too, she had started being seen with the Real Housewives of Atlanta ladies, which typically normally means you about to be a friend of the show or, you know, something. There was something there, like a little offer, something I want to hear now that it is, Even if Nene has spoken about it in the past, now that it is confirmed by Andy Cohen, I want to hear what Nene Leakes has to say. I care about Nene Leakes, Kenya Moore, Portia Williams, even Kandi Burrs. And I know Kandi has her show as well, too. I think I've said this even on my own channel. I think K. Michelle is an amazing addition to the Housewives of Atlanta. If she's going to be on the show. Okay, and why do you say that? Because K. Michelle is with the streets, Meaning in reality tv, people get a bad rap. The people like Kenya, the people like me, the people like your mama. The people like, we get a bad rap when we are no holds barred and we say what we feel and we say, you know, like, we get a bad rap. But you, everybody can't be the same. And you need people who aren't afraid to speak their mind. I think K. Michelle is a comedian. I think her reads are very funny. I think Housewives of Atlanta, to be honest, has missed a personality like that for some years. They've tried a few different people, but it always don't land like that. I think she's just naturally funny. And so I think she's a great addition if she's going to be on the show. I think it's weird that they have before said no to people that I thought would have been great for the show. They said absolutely not to people in the past from other franchises. I mean, it's one person that I still to this day think she would have been an amazing housewife. Tammy Roman. Oh, for sure. I think Tammy Roman should have been a housewife to be on the show so bad. And they said no. When she left Basketball Wives, they said no. And I was like, she is an amazing addition. She would have been amazing. Yes. She doesn't mind speaking her mind. She's funny. She's like as hell like, I think that that was just the thing. And they said no. And so I think it was just different. So what do you think about now that they're open to it? I find it to be interesting. What I will say is, you know, obviously over the years, you know, there are a couple people that I would have suggested, but they always kind of like, you know, we don't want anybody that's on another franchise or whatever. And they. They made it seem like it was a thing, like a rule that cannot be broken. That's how they use that. You know what I mean? So this was kind of like a surprise to me. I was really shocked by it. And I see some people making comments online saying stuff like, oh, that's gonna make it too. Loving hip hop or this or that. What I will say is that I think K. Michelle is gonna be good TV no matter where you put her. Anywhere you put her, anywhere you put her. So I am curious to see how she mixes with the other ladies on the show. I think it would be interesting to hear how her music is displayed on the show. Absolutely. You know, and see who she get along with and who she don't get along with. Absolutely. But yes, I care about hearing from Cynthia, Portia Williams, Kandi Burris, and Kenya Moore and Nene Leakes when it comes to K. Michelle being on this show. And a lot of these women have already mentioned how they would feel she was to join. Kids, we just heard candy. I'm telling you guys, K. Michelle is going to make Real Housewives of Atlanta feel as close as we're ever going to get back to a feeling when the full OG cast was there. And I am here for it. Sign me up. Okay. We will be discussing. Discussing. We will be discussing Real Housewives of Atlanta. Okay. I will dig, dig, dig, dig, dig. And turn back into the biggest Real Housewife of Atlanta fan. Cause I'm still a fan. But I. I do think in these last couple seasons, man, like, the casting, it just hasn't gets you by. Like, if you need your little fix of the girls, because we love our girls, you know, our Real Housewives ladies. But if you need your fix of Atlanta get you by. But it's just. It's not the same. K. Michelle's gonna bring it. Okay? We'll be here for it. We'll be reporting on it. We'll be talking all about it and hopefully we'll be bringing some you some exclusives in relation to it because that just got me excited. So now I want to dig more, talk to some people, figure out what's going on. Okay, thank you guys for tuning in. This is Lauren LaRosa and the latest with Lauren LaRosa.
