What's up? It's Lauren the Rosa. And this is the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. This is your daily dig on all things pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations that shake the room. Now, we always kick off this episode checking in behind the scenes of the grind. For those of you guys who are new here in this space, we check in behind the scenes of the grind, which is a time where we just honestly stop and ask, how are you doing? Like, how are you really doing, Lorata? So asking myself how I'm really doing today. Today is. I mean, I don't know. It's one of those days where having conversations with myself a bit more about longevity. For some reason this morning, I don't know if it was because it was raining and it was cloudy outside. I woke up and I just. I don't know, I just started talking to God about, like, okay, what does impact really look like in the space that I'm in? And, like, how do you go, like. Like, what is going the distance to actually impact and what the substance look like? And, you know, everything is so saturated. Everybody's doing this news thing and, you know, just started having all these conversations about what is in the marketplace and, you know, just where I want to stand out at and the things I want to do moving forward, not even moving forward, but just, you know, at some point in career, I want to, you know, there's so many things that I want to do that involve storytelling, but it's always, like, right time, and it's always, when can you apply the time so that you're not just, like, rushing to do things because you're. You have the platform at the moment or, you know, the. The followers at the moment or whatever the case may be. Like, what is the intention? Why is that in the intention? And how do you go about it? And what are the. It's. Everything is like one step after the other. Left foot, right foot, take your time. Don't rush into things, but just knowing when to get started and how to go about it without taking away from the main thing. Keeping the main thing. The main thing was something I was having a conversation with myself about some time ago and some time ago, but it comes back up often, and today was one of those days. So I've been just having conversation with myself about this, and I told myself that I was going, you know, pray on it a bit. Write down some things, jot down some things. And one of the things that came to mind when I was thinking about it is the fact that, like, you get in this uncomfortable space because things are so new. And we talked a bit about this in the last couple episodes. But I. I think what I realized in this season of my life is that I've always had to, like, everything has always been, like, fight or flight for me. And I think that I've finally gotten into a space just in my personal life and in my work life where it's not fight or flight. I posted this meme on the Brown Girl Grinding Instagram. Follow us there. It's all about conversation, motivation, and all the things that are going to shake the room. Brown girl grinding. All common spelling. Brown girl grinding. But I had posted this meme, and the meme said, why doesn't anyone have a conversation about when ambition turns down and your want for longevity turns up? And the first time that I saw that meme, I'm like, I don't even understand how one thing can be true if you want the other to be true. Like, how are you talking about longevity and legacy, but you're talking about your ambition turning down? Like, what? Like, no, turn me up. Like, I'm not. You know what I mean? Like, turn me up so I can execute. And then today I was having the conversation. Conversation with myself, and then it led into me having a conversation with, you know, people around me. And one of the things that my boyfriend actually identified today, he was like, I think for you, your journey has always been about just trying to get to the point where you're okay and doing what you loved. You love to do so. But now you're at a point where you're okay and you're. And you're doing what you love. What you love. So it's like, how can you extend that into other things that you love, but also things that you, you know, will actually help other people get to the point where they're able to experience, you know, this, like, season of. Not comfort, because it's still very uncomfortable. And I. And I want to say uncomfortable, but I just think I'm beginning to think about, like, bigger picture. And that's like a. It's like such a weird feeling because I've always just thought about, like, securing the picture in general to make sure I'm good. Like, you know what I mean? Like, how we paying bills, how we saving, how we making sure everybody okay. And now I'm at a where it's not just about money. It's. It's really about, like, impact. Like, I don't know, I'm growing up, y'. All. Like, I'm. I'm becoming one of the new adults and it's, it's scaring the heck out of me. But in all of this that I'm doing every single day and everything I'm putting my time into, that was my thought. This morning I was driving into work and I'm like, God, what, like, what is this feeling that I'm having of like, okay, let's slowly start moving into a season of, like, really figuring out impact because you've, you've identified your passion, you've put yourself in a good place to be able to pursue your passion and do it consistently. But now it's like, okay, there's passion, but let's look at purpose. And this is, again, this is not a new conversation for me, y'. All, like, feeling like, okay, I know my purpose, but, like, do I. And if I do and if it is what I believe, you know, God is telling me my purpose is, which is, honestly, a lot of it is just about being a vessel. Am I doing that in all the ways that he's equipped me to be able to? And if not, what? Like, there's so many other ways I can do it because there's so many other things that I am able to do. How do I start? Where do I start? In a way that doesn't take away from the main thing. Everything is cohesive and everything, you know, just everything. One hand washes the other. Everything is supportive of the other thing. So that's where I've been, you know, thinking lately. And I don't know if anybody else is going through this season of their life where it's like, okay, I'm not fight or flight. I'm not just surviving now. I'm in a space where I'm living. And if you've ever, you know, lived in survival mode at any point in your life, you know, sometimes you don't even identify the switch. Like, I honestly don't even think I identified a switch until today. Until someone said to me today, like, that has always been your, your ministry has always been survival, sis. And now you're not surviving. So now you're able to think about what is the long term goal, you know, how is it helping other people? What is the longevity? What is the legacy? What are you actually building? Not just what are you getting up in every day to do, you know, To. To scratch your goal off the list. So that's where I've been today, mentally. I don't know, you know, how y' all been feeling? And maybe it's the, you know, the weather change and, you know, I feel like warm weather makes you start upbeat and the thoughts get. Because that's. I mean, that is a upbeat thought. The thoughts get upbeat. But I don't know, I've just been thinking more about others than myself. And I think a lot of that is because, like I said in a previous episode, make sure you guys go take a listen to the episode prior to this one. The fact that I've been okay and not feeling guilty with checking up on myself and taking care of myself, I think it's really put me in a space where I'm like, okay, I'm good. Like, I've my cup, you know, it's good. Like, I could. I could feel others, you know, like. And I want to do that. And until I do that, I feel like I'm not fully fulfilling my purpose that I was put here on the earth for. So been having those conversations with God, y'. All. Let me know how y' all are feeling. Check in with me behind the scenes of the grind. I'm Lauren LaRosa everywhere. I want to hear from y', all, but let's get on into the latest. Now, speaking about.
Dr. J Barnett
What's up, everyone? My name is Dr. J. Barnett and I am the host of just heal with Dr. J podcast. Listen. One thing that I remember about my childhood is being able to remember my phone number. Because it was like the theme at that time. You got to remember your phone number in case you get somewhere and you can't get in touch with anybody. You need to be able to remember your phone number. Did you know that 2026 will mark the 150th anniversary of the first ever phone call. It took place March 10, 1876. And from the call that sparked to the first long distance phone lines, the first line across America, the first line across the Atlantic, the first round the world call, the first commercial cell service, the first 911 system, AT&T has been connecting people for 150 years in so many different ways. So when I think about ATT and their 150 years, I think about the lives that have been saved. I think about the joy that has been shared. Because nothing says connection like AT&T.
Lauren LaRosa
Connecting changes everything. AT&T.

let me tell y' all something. There has been so much purpose that I feel like has been receiving its flowers within these like last two years since you know, a lot of these like legacy iconic acts have been on the road. I talked about this on a podcast some time ago. I went to go see Brandi and Monica in concert when they came here to New York for the Boy is Mine tour. And that tour was iconic. We know because Brandy, musical powerhouse, entertainment powerhouse Monica, musical powerhouse, entertainment powerhouse. And the two didn't always, you know, see eye to eye or the people around them didn't. And it created this like, versus thing between the two of them. And there's always been this unspoken issue, right? So watching them over this last year just repair all of that and love on each other and protect each other has been amazing. And again, I think it's like you get to this point in your career where you have done so much for yourself. You look around you like, okay, but what can what I've done and what I've learned do for other people? And I think that's what we're seeing a lot of our legacy talent like a Brandy or Monica, that's the season that they're in. So they're talking more about their journeys. Brandy has his new book coming, right? But it was announced this week that Brandy will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And we talked a bit about this on the Breakfast Club. So the Hollywood Walk of Fame or Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which is the, the company that actually gives that. Well, they don't give. You got to pay for it. The company that gives. Once you pay for it. Your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame announced that Brandi will be receiving her star on March 30th of 2026. It's going to go down in LA on Hollywood Boulevard, which is where it normally goes down at. Actor Issa Rae or actor writer powerhouse Issa Rae is going to be speaking on Brandy's behalf. Babyface will also be speaking as well. And it's just going to be something like amazing and impactful to see. It'll be live streamed on the official Walk of Fame website, if you guys want to check that out. And it's actually going to be airing 11:30am Pacific Standard Time. So that's 11, 3:30 hour time, 3 hour difference. But you know, you talk about her Grammy impact, you talk about her iconic movie and television impact, this is like a long time coming. She's celebrating 30 years in this business. This is a long time coming. She deserves every little bit of it. And recently the conversation around Brandy has just been, it's, it's been a little bit all over. I mean, look, we did the exclusive here on the podcast when Ray J called and, you know, was defending his sister because he was upset at some comments that Shine had made when sitting with Cameron and Mace over on It Is what it Is and just brought up the fact that he used to date her. And to be honest with you like? Ray J posted an apology today and love Ray J to death. I know he means well. I think all little brothers mean well, but they just don't know the harm that they be doing sometimes. He. He was the last person I wanted to hear from in the midst of us thinking about Brandy's legacy and honoring her for it just because he just been. He. He loves her so much, but sometimes he gets in his own way and everybody's way. And I say that with so much love. I do. But he posted this apology today, but he posted this apology to his Instagram that a lot of people are picking up and covering. And I want us to take a listen to it.
Ray J
Listen, I'm gonna go all out for who I believe in and who I love, and Brandy has been the one who has put me on, who has given me my opportunities to become successful in every aspect, from acting to singing to tv, and the list goes on. I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be where I am today without Brandi. Right. And so this apology is to Brandi and Brandi only and to Brandi's brand. There's a lot of things that I might say or do controversial wise. Right. But to tie both of those things into each other is not okay. Some of the things I said was absolutely concerning, disrespectful and. And heartless. I never want to attach Brandy into that much disrespect that I portray to the world. That should have been on a rant that only Ray J was and only had something to do with me and my issues, and that's what I'm apologizing for. So, Brandi, I know what you heard was. It was despicable, dirty, and just downright disrespectful. And I feel bad. I feel bad that I tied you into it and. And brought your brands into this world that I'm in. And so for that, I'm sorry. And I think for everybody else involved, we all need to just chill. It needs to stop now.
Lauren LaRosa
And I think that what, like, the. The gist of what I'm taking away from this is that, number one, I know she probably cussed him out behind the scenes because Ray J. Was being crazy. But I also think, you know, it's just when you think about career and legacy, it's like there's so much, like, BS that can be attached to it no matter who you are or what you've done. Just within this last, like, a week, the conversations that we've been having, Brandi, the conversation. She's had to come out and speak and clarify herself, you know, please go back and listen to our prior episode if you have not, where we covered Brandy speaking out about being upset that Sean was mentioning that they previously dated, right? And I told you guys, I spoke to someone in Sean's camp. We talked about this on the Breakfast Club as well, too. And I explained to them, you know, where the upset was coming from, where the backlash was coming from. But I'm just like, man, you think about all these 30 some years that she has been what she is in entertainment, and even Brandy still got to deal with the bs, Whether it was intentionally done or said or not. Even, like, it's still. And she is the most out of the way, doesn't subscribe to any of the bs, not in the blogs. You're not running into her anywhere. Like, when we think about real celebrity and being put up and out the way, Brandy is one of the, like, she's one of few that we have left where we don't know everything about her. And she was trying, like, everything is like, protect the brand, to protect the brand with her. And she still has to deal with all of the, all of the things, all of the drama that comes, right? And I, I don't know, I was saying, I was thinking about that and I'm like, dang. Like, she don't address nothing. She don't be in nothing. She don't speak on nothing. She literally be about her business and go home. And she is being honored for that, right? And still has to deal with it. So what's the point in even addressing anything whatsoever? Like, we look at, like, a lot of, like, artists who are always back and forth. Meek mill launched a LinkedIn account, right? And he says that he launched his LinkedIn account because, you know, for years he's been in the music industry and wanting to connect with people in business and, you know, all of these different things, right? It hasn't, according to him. And according to him, he hasn't been able to successfully do so, right? So he goes over to LinkedIn because, you know, I think LinkedIn is just a lot more of a mature crowd anyway. Like, he has people in here telling him, like, how to control, you know, the LinkedIn process and how to set up templates and, you know, all that stuff, right? So he creates a LinkedIn and he says, I'll be on LinkedIn or something, because I don't know what happened. We basically in deep, in a deep matrix trapped between Instagram X, Tick Tock, Snapchat, etc. We have millions of fans. We can't even get the real data on them. That's where the bots live. Free control the narrative. He says his algorithm on X is all based on world politics, Muslim and Jewish hate. It may have started when I first started watching. He says he was watching the bombings and guys on his timeline. Then he got on this. He's talking about his. His original point in being on social media, right? And being in the mix. Conversation was supposed music, connect with his fans, and now everything is such a deep fake. You know, AI'd mind, like, culture, right? So then he talks about being on LinkedIn and he's over there because he wants to, you know, connect in a real way. Once he posted the fact that he created a LinkedIn, he said, you know, within minutes and hours, he had all types of CEOs and business people they would have never met connecting with him in a matter of 25 minutes. He says he's. He's using AI to help him write his captions. He just. He just wants to be done with all the gossip and the drama. I don't think it matters what platform you go on. I don't think it matters who you are and where you are in your career. I just don't think that you can escape it. I think that eventually we all have to get to this point where if that's what you want, you just have to live in this kind of like a very protected bubble. And like, that's what Ray J's talking about. Like, Brandy lives in this space of, like, she knows what she wants to know, we know about her, what she wants us to know. She responds to what she wants to respond to. But she's still Brandi, she still sells out arenas like Monica and Brandy sold out that full tour run, right? And. And was very selective about the press that they did. It was little to no. Like, they did press. Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna say no press. They did press. There were. There were several interviews that they did promoting it and things like that, but it was. Was there. They didn't have. They didn't have to buy into Audible. Like, they didn't have to lean into all of the, like, the algorithmic stuff. Like, they're not. They weren't doing a lot of the normal hits. Like, I was trying to figure out if they would, like, just, can we get one of them on the Breakfast Club when they come to New York? And not that they didn't. I mean, I never heard back but it's just, you know, for the way that their celebrity is set up, they don't have to. And when I think about like legacy and longevity, I even think about that. Like, what conversations am I even entertaining on a day to day that are not helping me in that move forward and how can I change it alter

Yeah, 20 billion recovered. It's actually I think somewhere north. Probably closer to 22, 23 after this year. And each year we get bigger and badder and our army grows. So the number will hopefully keep getting bigger and bigger as time goes on.
Podcast Host
Awesome. So how does someone get in contact with Morgan and Morgan? What would I do if I got into an accident?
Dan Morgan
Probably the easiest way is dialing pound law. That's £529 from your cell phone. We are always open. Our call center is always waiting to take your call. 247-365- wow.

somebody else who just popped out and did the thing. Jay Z. Jay Z announced number one Roots Picnic, right? People went crazy then and we talked about that here on the podcast on a previous episode, right then jay Z announces two shows at Yankee Stadium is, you know, one celebrating the 30 years of reasonable Doubt, which is a a very rare return for Jay Z either one of these shows and another is celebrating the 25th year anniversary of the blueprint, right? So you got July 11th and you got July 10th, right? We have not seen or heard and I mean everybody listening to this, like duh, it's Jay Z. But like that's what I mean. Like building up that level of like cachet where like you literally can like be seen when you want to be seen and like you know, like, like wow. And control the masses when you want to respond to things, winning how you want to, which him and people Beyonce barely do, right? But even then, and still there is so much drama that has been surrounding Jay Z's name for like the last month. And he don't even yo. He don't even say nothing about nothing. It's like you can't escape it. And it's like kind of scary too. Like as I think about like, you know, what I want my platform to be and like you know, the, the good conversation to be and you know, like I always feel like you got to take the good with the Bad. And that's. Oh, that's. That's a downfall, too, of, like, anything in life, but especially in what I do. It's like, as much as you want to just report on, like, all of the positive, there is the negative, too, and it's all a part of it, and it's all. I think it's a stylized thing. Like, it's all about how you do it. Do you do a morals? Do you do it with integrity? Do you, you know, do it in a way that, like, you know, for me, it's never personal. There's never any malice. You know, I never have an ill intention, a targeted intention, anything like that. Right. But still, it's like, no matter what you do, sometimes I always think about, like, yo, this. This. This world of, like, conversation and storytelling is to the point where, like, people don't even know what's real and what's fake, and they attach both to people's names, literally. And the strongest brand survived. But, like, think about the people I'm talking about, y'. All. Like, Jay Z is like, Jay Z has been famous my whole life, and I'm 34 years old. Brandy has been famous my whole life. Like, this morning, when I'm having a conversation with myself about, like, legacy and impact and, you know, longevity and staying power, one of the biggest things I was saying is, like, how does all of that survive all of this that we're in, that. That is running a Meek mill over to LinkedIn, right? And a lot of girl, the. The people that get it, get it. We've been on LinkedIn. He. Now he. He bringing all the. All the craziness to LinkedIn. We've been over there. You know what I mean? Like, but. And that's a joke. I'm saying that to say that I don't really know what is escapable at this point, but you have all these high points of news today, right? Jay Z with, like, over 800, 000 people in queue for these tickets for, you know, the. The. The concerts at Yankee Stadium. Brandy announced Hollywood Walk of Fame. And Ray J is apologizing because he didn't brought, you know, the drama her way. He is no escaping it. So as I, you know, continue to think, I'm sorry, y', all today, I feel like it's news and we're talking about the news, but a lot of this, I've just been watching the moves that people have been making, and I'm like, yo, this right here, that is goals. Like, I want to be able to, like, Wake up one day 20 years from now and like my impact still be felt then. Like the people we're talking about, like a Brandy, like a Monica, like a Jay Z shoot, even Meek. I don't. I don't think that Meek understands his power yet, but he has stay in power. It's there. His. His cultural impact definitely is. It has, it's happened whether people want to give it to him or not. Because he's the, you know, he. He'd be the butt of the jokes a lot ever since that bunny hop. But it's there, right? But these are all people that like, I look at and I'm like, okay, even if I don't love everything that they're doing, let me look at what they've done. Because there's a blueprint here. No pun intended. There's a blueprint here, and I want to figure it out. I want to figure it out. So congratulations to everybody that we just mentioned. Meek that made it all meet, then made it on over to the adulting side of social media. He's a little late, but we welcome him nonetheless. Him and you know, his. His suits over on LinkedIn. Nonetheless, to our girl Brandi, who is so deserving. I am so excited and especially because Issa Rae is going to be speaking on her behalf. And I can just see the parallel of why Issa Rae would be inspired by a Brandi, right. Brandi, who made so many strides in television for young black girls in the mainstream, just in general, but like in the mainstream who were multi hyphenate and talented and, and we talk about, you know, making things cohesive. Brandi was all of the things in a multi hyphenate at a very high level before we even the girls even knew what that was. I am so excited to hear her speak on Brandy's behalf. I'm just excited for everything to come. Okay, I'm gonna be at that concert. I'm gonna be tuned in to Brandy on the walk of fame. We're gonna bring it all back here to the latest. This has been another episode of the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. I am your host, Lauren LaRosa, and I tell you guys, every single episode, y' all could be anywhere but with any old body. But y' all choose to be right here with me, and I appreciate you guys for that. Now if you are looking to get some tickets to this Jay Z concert at Yankee Stadium, child, good luck. Okay? Tickets are already reselling crazy on Stubhub, but if there are pre sale tickets though, that are well some of the pre sales like they stop the queue for it but now you can sign up to get an alert. I'm not actually on the website right now. You can sign up to get an alert for tickets that drop today, March 24th. Like these are like the general tickets. So they have like general tickets and general, general vip. So via Ticketmaster. So you go to Ticketmaster's website, you join the queue, you go through like this whole thing with Ticketmaster to join the queue. Ticketmaster will show you that they are no longer doing the preset that pre. What it will tell you is that the pre sale has a limited ticket availability and I'm assuming that there are way too many people in the queue already. Basically that's done. So they then list the fact that on March 24th today at 10:00am City card members can get preferred tickets. There are general public tickets and there's also VIP packages that will be on sale and legend legends page packages that will be on sale that you can set reminders for. So there's various tours of tickets. It's just all going crazy. So listen, sign up. Hopefully I'll see y' all there.
