The disconnect between expectations and actions raises an important question: Is this outcome truly what they envisioned when they voted?

Election decisions carry profound impacts, with voter expectations sometimes clashing sharply with political realities. For Trump voters now facing the potential loss of vital benefits, it should be a sobering lesson in understanding the true implications of political promises. As the holiday season fades into Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration and the first days of his presidency, the challenge for many will be contending with the impact of policies that contradict their own needs and interests.
