Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together. Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex and today we are tackling the hardest psychological hurdle of transitioning into entrepreneurship. The massive identity shift. Because, let's be real. If you still view yourself as an employee, you will forever struggle to make CEO decisions. And if you are holding onto your old title, you cannot grasp your new reality. Let's break down how to shed your past without losing your core values. First, acknowledge that leaving a secure career feels like losing a piece of yourself. Too many people think taking the leap into business is just pure excitement. It is actually terrifying if you spend spent years wearing a uniform, having a rank and knowing exactly where you fit in the world. Stripping all that away leaves a massive void. Whether you were in law enforcement, the military or corporate America, the transition only works if you consciously decide to build a new identity. If you cling to the past, you kill your future. Second, your old discipline is the ultimate unfair advantage. People do not win in business just because they are creative. They they win because they have grit. So instead of mourning the structure of your old life, weaponize it. Make the resilience, the long hours and the thick skin you developed in your past career the foundation of your new company. Lastly, give yourself permission to be a beginner again. When you drop the ego and accept that you have to learn a completely new game, your growth skyrockets. Humility, rapid skills, skill acquisition and relentless execution create a brand new upgraded version of you. When you let go of who you were, you become who you are meant to be. Bottom line, you cannot write a new chapter if you keep rereading the old one. Turn the page, accept the new challenge and build the new you. Because when you do, you will reach heights you never thought possible. Thanks for tuning in to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, reminding you your past prepared you, but your execution defines you. Embrace the shift, own the new identity, and as always, keep leveling up.
