Welcome to the Level up podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together. Remember, I have your six. Get ready to level up right now. What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex and today we are destroying the toxic hustle culture that glorifies overnight success. The marathon mindset. Because let's be real, if you are constantly trying to get rich by Friday, you are going to make desperate, foolish decisions that ruin your reputation by Monday. Let's break down how to play the infinite game. First, realize that anything built rapidly can be destroyed rapidly. Too many people chase the quick flip or the viral trend because they lack the discipline for true foundation building. That is a massive trap. If you are looking at your business as a get rich quick scheme, the market will expose you. Whether you are setting up physical infrastructure or building a consulting brand, true equity takes years of compounding effort. If you lack patience, you kill the legacy. Second, you are building this for the next generation. People do not sustain a high level of intensity just to buy a nice watch. They sustain it because their why is rooted in family. When I make strategic decisions, I am looking decades down the line. I am building a fortress for my wife Brittany and a total financial shield for my son Maverick. So instead of asking what will make you the most money today, ask what will provide the most stability tomorrow. Make your daily actions an investment in their future. Lastly, the Marathon mindset eliminates daily anxiety. When you stretch your timeline out to 20 years, a bad month or a lost client feels completely insignificant. Deep resilience, unwavering focus and a commitment to the long term create an unshakable founder. When you stop watching the clock, you start building the empire. Bottom line, stop trying to sprint a 26 mile race. Pace yourself, build solid systems and focus on the legacy. Because when you do, your success will last longer than ever. Thanks for tuning in to the Level up podcast. I'm Paul Alex reminding you true wealth takes time. Protect your family, build the foundation, and as always, keep leveling up. Timestamp: 00:27–01:24
Paul challenges the seductive promise of "get rich by Friday" thinking, warning that such desperation leads to poor, reputation-damaging decisions.
He notes that what is built quickly can also fall apart quickly—true success requires a slow and steady approach.
"If you are constantly trying to get rich by Friday, you are going to make desperate, foolish decisions that ruin your reputation by Monday."
—Paul Alex (00:39)
Critiques the tendency to chase trends and quick flips, asserting that these often stem from a lack of discipline necessary for real foundation-building.
Timestamp: 01:25–02:18
Paul underscores that whether you’re building a physical business or a consultancy, sustainable equity is the result of years of compounded effort—not viral trends.
Lays out that businesses should be constructed with the next generation in mind, rooted in a deeply personal "why" rather than shallow, material incentives.
"People do not sustain a high level of intensity just to buy a nice watch. They sustain it because their why is rooted in family."
—Paul Alex (01:42)
Paul uses his own family (wife Brittany and son Maverick) as his primary motivator, framing every decision as an investment in their future.
"When I make strategic decisions, I am looking decades down the line... Make your daily actions an investment in their future."
—Paul Alex (01:51)

"When you stop watching the clock, you start building the empire."
—Paul Alex (02:45)
Urges listeners to pace themselves and focus on building robust systems, not just chasing sprints.
"Stop trying to sprint a 26 mile race. Pace yourself, build solid systems and focus on the legacy."
