When this happened, at the time I didn't know that I would grow up to be a wife, a mother, a businesswoman, a voice for others battling invisible battles. That's just the beginning of the Source in a way because what happened to me led me to everything that I'm now going through.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Give me the human answer of what you think you experienced.

Helen Konoma
Yes, she's joining Ellen Konoma.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
She's joining me today. She's moments away from filming her Woman in Power episode. How do you feel? Welcome to South Beach.
Helen Konoma
Thank you. Thank you. I feel amazing. Thank you so much.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
What do we got here, my love?
Helen Konoma
Well, you know, climbing back from coma de call. And basically it's a memoir that I, you know, wrote just to kind of empower other women that are going through, you know, a chronic illness, you know, which is what I've endured, you know, throughout my lifetime. And so it's just, you know, my journey talks about my journey and talks about how I overcame a whole lot and, and yeah, and basically empowering other women as well. And that's what it's all about.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Beautiful. So were you, did you start reality as an author? It took you quite a while to become an author. Talk about your journey.
Helen Konoma
You know, my goal was never to be an author.
Supporting Voice/Interviewer Assistant
Right.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Let me grab that from you.
Helen Konoma
Yes. But I wanted to share what happened to me. You know, when I was in coma, I was, I was 10 years old at the time. Okay. And, you know, three men came to pray for me as they were proceeding to leave. Their feet weren't touching the ground. And the funny thing is that I was in coma. But the moment they walked in, I became wide awake, I became lucid, because obviously they weren't just humans. And one good thing is that a caregiver, her name is Adit, she was there at the time, she's unrelated to me. She was just doing her shift, watching me, you know, in the hospital. So apparently I was yelling at her. Idit. Id, because this. It was strange. She was frozen. Her eyes just locked on these three people. It's only later that I learned that she saw the same things. So that. That just changed me forever, you know? And shortly after these men prayed for me, I found myself climbing stairs filled with bright light. Just imagine climbing stairs from here all the way to the clouds. It was so, you know, it was a long journey to get to the top. Once I got there, I saw majestic beings. And in between where I was, you know, standing and where they were, there was a stark line. So I was so excited, I ran to, you know, cross over that line. Thank God I didn't. I was stopped by a loud, thundering voice that rang, stop. Get back. It's not your time. That voice catapulted me back to the hospital room where I woke up crying, being resuscitated.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Wow.
Helen Konoma
Tell me. That moment just changed me forever.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
You know, give me the human perception of what you think experience. Give me the human answer of what you think you experienced.
Helen Konoma
The human perception of what you experienced. Well, human beings, you know, of course, it could be I found myself, you know, what I describe as a spiritual journey.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
You mentioned stairs.
Helen Konoma
Exactly, stairs. You know, when.
Supporting Voice/Interviewer Assistant
Oh, time.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
I tell you all sorts of things.
Helen Konoma
But, you know, the funny thing is that if that girl wasn't there, you know, my story would not be seen as credible. Okay? That's one thing. And because she. That was not in coma, unrelated to me, saw the exterior, saw this, you know, so when this happened, oh my God, I tell you. And that was the beginning of my recovery. Think about that. The moment I came out of that coma, bam, I was in the coma for three weeks.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
You reawakened.
Supporting Voice/Interviewer Assistant
Yes.
Helen Konoma
So I. After that, I came out. I had to learn how to walk, how to talk, how to, you know, carry on with my daily life.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
But in your mind and heart, you knew. You saw it, you felt it.
Helen Konoma
I saw it. I felt it.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Of course, you had to learn how to walk.
Helen Konoma
Again, it was real. Because since that moment, everything I'd gone through, it started to make sense, you know? Yes. So, and this is so funny because this climbing back, I just wrote this book.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
The other book or this one. We got some other goodies down here.
Helen Konoma
I just wrote this book. It was published.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Amazon bestseller.
Helen Konoma
Yes, it was published in June. And you know, God always wanted me to share my story and I share it with individuals, but I didn't know I was going to share it on the scale like this, you know? So when I was, I wrote this book because I was like, okay, let me share. I have to do this. A friend of mine even told me, I kept delaying. He said, what if you just write a pamphlet? I was like, sure, let me just do it. And that's June. I wrote this book, I submitted it, and to find out in October. And that was just a confirmation that it became bestselling, you know what I'm saying?
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Oh, absolutely.
Helen Konoma
It just, it's like it was a confirmation that God really wanted me to do this.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Absolutely. And I completely agree. I can give you a theory as to why God wanted you to do this.
Helen Konoma
I'm sorry?
Interviewer/Podcast Host
I can give you a theory as to why God wanted you to do this.
Helen Konoma
Tell me.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Well, a lot of folks are, are not going to movie theaters. A lot of folks aren't, aren't entertained or aren't as easily swain by whatever they see on a phone or they're really swing by what they feel in their heart. And I feel like when they see your book starts to deliver some answers to the questions that they feel in their heart because they're, they're experiencing the out of body experience like you have, but in a different ways.
Helen Konoma
In a different way.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Completely different. And these three strangers, be it three or one, or be it the shadow spirit that sits on your chest, be it demonic, be it positive, be it opposite alpha, be it omega, be it antagonist, protagonist. Yeah, there's a rumble. There's an energy that we're not seeing.
Helen Konoma
Right, right.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
And I feel like you've tapped into that. And this pamphlet is the very beginning of that Source.
Helen Konoma
Right.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Talk about being the beginning of that source. And what you brought back from that
Helen Konoma
experience when this happened. At the time, I didn't know that I would grow up to be a wife, a mother, okay. A business woman, a voice for others battling invisible battles, you know, fighting invisible battles like me. So that I believe that, that that's just the beginning of the Source in a way, because this just led me to what happened to me, led me to everything that I'm now going through.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
You know, so yeah, the universe literally said, ah, she's published it. She's printed it.
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
On paper now.
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Now she's ready to step to the next level because now she's spoken it.
Helen Konoma
Right.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
And Physical Book, it's not a tick tock post. It's not.
Helen Konoma
No, no, it's right.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
It's the old way.
Helen Konoma
Old ways.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
You know what I mean? It's very powerful.
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
You have some other things here. Is there anything else you want to talk about? Just specifically?
Helen Konoma
Yes. And you know, as I develop, of course, when I launched my Lex Home Care, basically we. What we do, Alex, is we provide compassionate care to seniors and individuals needing support. Okay. So when we launched it, basically it was to help people. That was the mission. Okay. Because a lot of the elderly and young people, they've gone through what I have gone through. Fear, uncertainty, illness. And that's what they're going through. Because I knew what it felt like to be on the other side of care and to need compassion, care from just, you know, when you're in your most vulnerable state. But, you know, all this, it just made sense. God wanted me to help, you know, this was my mission, to help people, to empower people. To show people that your diagnosis doesn't make who you are.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
No.
Helen Konoma
You know, and that there is a way. Faith. Just have faith, you know, and God will lead you through.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
That's amazing. You. You've come to film your Woman in Power episode?
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Kofi is on standby. What are we going to learn about you and your episode?
Helen Konoma
Well, you know, wanted to talk about my story, what happened to me, my journey and on how to empower other people and how I ended up developing these products, which I didn't get to, but.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Grab it, honey.
Supporting Voice/Interviewer Assistant
Grab it.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
I want you to go ahead and do your thing, baby.
Supporting Voice/Interviewer Assistant
Yeah.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Yeah, honey. Okay. What do we got here?
Helen Konoma
I once I, you know, launched my agency and after a while, basically grew it up. I just wanted to, you know, tap into the entrepreneur e Commerce space.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Absolutely.
Helen Konoma
Yeah. So. And found products that can also help people. Because this is all about helping people. So I just, you know, of course I had to research and the first. The first one I came up with was the Lex Pods. Right on, you know, kind of the name Lex. Lexplot.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
I love it. Let's see the product. I want to see the box.
Helen Konoma
Yeah, well, I have actually there. There's a black one. I. Well, this is the white one.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
No, that's Great. It's great.
Helen Konoma
Lex spots. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
What does it do?
Helen Konoma
It's just a Bluetooth ear, you know, headphones, headphones. For sure.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
For sure.
Helen Konoma
Yeah. But to me it's actually about connection. You know, music was my lifeline during the most difficult parts of my life, you know, and I just wanted to share with people, maybe can help bring them joy, you know, motivation and even healing, you know, so. And that's why LexPods came about. Of course. We're working on, you know, revamping. Technology is always ever changing. So that's what we're working on right now. And this one also is Lex Clairvoys Echo this. Echo sheets. Yes. The, they're eco friendly laundry sheets.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Of course.
Helen Konoma
Yes. So I've, I, I've met people that I actually take care of as well and people that, that are in my agency, they actually have suffer from asthma and asthma, like symptoms. Okay. And a lot of them, you know, elderly, they, they have sensitive skin and all that, you know, so just to be able to find a way to do laundry in a clean and safer way. Okay. Without all the harsh chemicals. Because this is biodegradable, you know, so it's eco friendly and it's gentle on the skin and that's basically the idea.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Yeah.
Helen Konoma
You know, they could do laundry without sneezing or itching because I there, you know, I have a client actually came up to me and said thank God that she doesn't sneeze anymore and she doesn't itch, you know, since she started using my echo sheets.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
That's important. No, no, it really is.
Helen Konoma
So. And the basically, like I said, it's all about helping people, their overall well being in a, you know. Yes. In a safer way.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
How, how.
Helen Konoma
In a happy way.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
I was going to say, how do you feel about folks that don't qu. Don't quite understand that it really is your, your mental health and your mental well being that is important because it, it reflects your reality. If you're not in the right centered spot, your reality is going to start crumbling. You, you're, you're, you, you, you, you gotta be aligned. So your reality is aligned with you. Correct?
Helen Konoma
In general, yes. You do have to be in the right frame of mind. And you know what? I attribute all this to my faith.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Absolutely.
Helen Konoma
Yes. So faith was my foundation. Okay. And I was raised like that, you know, since I was a child.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Sure.
Helen Konoma
Yes. And that just, you know, helps to uplift, you know, guide my every step and I lean on that because my strength is not mine. So yes. Having the right set of mind comes from that. I, at least I believe I attribute, you know, to that.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Absolutely. What, can I ask what, why, why were you in that hospital bed? What put you in that, that three week coma?
Helen Konoma
Yes. You know, I have sickle cell anemia and sickle cell, you know, it's a genetic disorder. Okay. And it was a complication from that. I believe I was in some kind of crisis, pain and. But you can imagine this was in Nigeria.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Wow.
Helen Konoma
Yes. When I was 10 years old.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
So you missed out those two little details.
Helen Konoma
Well, you know, the healthcare, 10 years old in Nigeria. Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
That's a completely different experience than, you know.
Helen Konoma
Absolutely.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Oh, yeah.
Helen Konoma
So, you know, the healthcare is always ever changing, you know, and back then, you can imagine, you know, because I was born in the late 70s, you know.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Wow.
Helen Konoma
So. Yes. And they don't have, I'm sure their technology, you know, their healthcare system is not as advanced back then, even here, back then, you know, we, we've grown from, you know, then.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Yeah. In your culture in Nigeria, with these three men, what. Who do you think they were? Were they angels? Were they guiding spirits? Were they folks from your family, these three gentlemen? Who do you think they were?
Helen Konoma
I believe God sent them, yes. They came to pray for me. So. And the fact that God allowed us to see that their feet weren't touching the ground, that. That is just unbelievable because I was
Interviewer/Podcast Host
going to say that, that that kind of manifestation only happens in places like Nigeria. You never see that here. The frequency and the energies is here is far too turbulent for any of that to be seen as obvious in your country. Talk about that spiritual awakening. These, these miracles, these, these three men that, that came to visit you and practically has changed your life. And everyone you speak to talk about what you feel in your culture and you see it, but you don't see it here.
Helen Konoma
Right. Well, you know, in my culture, basically, you know, I was born, I was born in that era, you know, strong traditions and resilience. Faith was always the foundation. You see, that's basically what we all leaned on. You know, we didn't. In my culture, because in Nigeria, there's several tribes. I'm Igbo. Okay. And a lot of the Igbos, they're, you know, Christians, most of them at least. You know, and you have the Hausas and you have the Yorubas. Right. So a lot of the people I grew up around, you know, we were all into the word and that was our foundation. That was how we survived.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Yeah. It's so Funny. These master classes with these mega churches and all these big. And then you talk about it so simply as I hit the mic as you did a good omen. You talk about it so simple. It's like I grew up from that. I'm from this tribe and I'm like, here in the United States, people are thirsty to be some part of any kind of tribe, any kind of cult. And you saw, you talk about it. So, like, it's a rite of passage. It's so beautiful. You don't find that here. Wow. You really should be honored and proud of that, because I'm proud for you. Gosh, I wish I came from a tribe. The evil.
Helen Konoma
I'm very proud of my culture. I am. Yes. You know, I've been here for a long time. I've been here. I came here when I was 13.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Look at you.
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
It's a great number, too, depending who you ask.
Helen Konoma
So. Yes. But I am very proud because I still. I carry everything that I was taught, you know, and I basically. That guides me that, you know, guides my everyday move, you know, and especially faith, because that's what our foundation was. Beautiful.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Beautiful.
Helen Konoma
Yeah. So I think maybe because of that, people being more perceptive to, you know, spiritual. Spiritual being. Yeah. Because we're all.
Narrator/Host Introduction
We have a.
Helen Konoma
You know, we're all spirit beings in a way. Yeah. So you have to. We have our physical body. We have our, you know, emotional aspect of it, and we have spirit. We have to feel those two.
Supporting Voice/Interviewer Assistant
Yes, correct.
Helen Konoma
Those need to be fed. Just like we feed our physicality, we need to feed the emotional aspect. You know, if you're. You could be depressed because you're not feeding the emotional aspect.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Oh, yeah. You'd be depressed because you're not feeding the right parts of your brain.
Helen Konoma
Exactly. So there comes the spiritual. So I think we're all, back then, people that were in tune with their spiritual aspect, you know. Yeah. The spiritual being. Yeah.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Just a side note, I come from, you know, always schmoozing and laughing. I always had a drink in my hand. Always drinking liquid courage. Recently stopped drinking again. Until I realized, why am I putting someone else's pain and misery, that they created this cocktail into my body, and then I feel pain and misery now. And when I finally figured that out is when I completely, cold turkey, stopped drinking. I'm like, enough. Like, enough. Because without it, I'm pure and joy. But now I gotta hold this cocktail and drink this thing and it makes me feel a certain way just because I have. No, no, no, no, no. No, that changes. So once you have that affirmation, that conviction.
Helen Konoma
Yes, exactly.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
And your conviction was these three mysterious men, shadows, apparitions that were seen by someone in the exterior, and it all comes together.
Helen Konoma
Right. And you know, this happened at 10. So you can imagine my life has never changed.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Yep.
Helen Konoma
I mean, like, it. What I meant to say that my life, having seen these people, it's changed completely, but it's never changed because I will always look back at this. I will never forget it, is what I'm trying to say. Never.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Divine purpose is a real thing.
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
To live in a divine purpose is absolutely real. And I give you a testament to that. I've. I've spent a year of my life in these studios.
Helen Konoma
Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
And divine purpose is very much real, my friend.
Helen Konoma
Yeah. When you experience something like that, you will never forget it.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Yeah. Yeah.
Helen Konoma
Even at 10. That's. That's like, you know, everything I do now, it's just. It kept reminding me of what I need to do. You need to do this as a, you know, you need to do that.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
Absolutely.
Helen Konoma
And because God has put that in me, this is what I need to do. This is my purpose. You have to fulfill this purpose, you know, so. Yes.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
From a. From a fellow spiritual travel that can completely appreciate this journey. Thank you so much for your time and energy.
Helen Konoma
Thank you.
Interviewer/Podcast Host
It was such a great time. I. I'm. I'm lucky enough that I got the opening act. Now you're going to go into the studio and film with Kofi. He's in for a treat.
Helen Konoma
