Narrator/Intro Voice
So Tara Camp is a transformational coach, entrepreneur, and retreat facilitator. She helps individuals reconnect with their authentic selves through healing, mindset and personal growth, empowering them to live with greater joy, purpose, and freedom.
Tara Camp
I love my humanness, but a lot of times I feel like that gives people a reason to hold on to the negativity or the blame or the resentment. What's important is that we own those and we feel them, but that we're also willing to let them go because the spiritual energies are higher. In order to raise our vibration, we got to let go of the heavy stuff.
Jay Sling
What are some of the tips that people can do to kind of tap into their inner power and that energy?
Tara Camp
I feel like right now one of the main things going on out there is that it spans the globe like a super high is cold Internet Elvis.

Just stopped finish filming over in the other studio. But yeah, she brought us to another vibration. And tell us a little bit about yourself.
Tara Camp
Well, my name is Tara and I'm a bliss and happiness coach and retreat facilitator. I help people to tune in and tap into their inner resources and to not just have an experience or spiritual experience, but to actually like, grounded into everyday life.
Jay Sling
Awesome and blissful happiness coach. People like, I think we all can use a little bit about that. What's a blissful happiness coach?
Tara Camp
Well, I help people to tune in, tap in, have an experience of. Of bliss, of unconditional love, joy, peace beyond all understanding. And then I give them the tools and techniques to actually live it in everyday life so they can overcome the challenges, the negativity, the negative emotions, and tune into the higher vibes that, you know, contain joy and all the good things of life. Abundance.
Jay Sling
I think how difficult and crazy this life can be. I think we can all Tap into that joy and abundance, especially with so much negativity out there today. You know, I think it's really important now more than ever to kind of tap into these things. Tell us about. I mean, what's it take to be a blissful happiness coach? Like, how did you get here?
Tara Camp
Oh, that's a really good question. I've had a fascination for just pushing the edges my entire life. And, you know, I was in my real estate career, and I recognized a few quirks that I had that I really wanted to. To. To be better. And that's when I got started in personal development. And from there, I just grew and had this fascination of. Of just being my best self.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
Yeah.
Jay Sling
And also, I only know this because I did the episode. But snowboarding also. Snowboarding has a kind of little bit of story into that journey. Right. So tell us, like, snowboarding, why was it so important to you? Like, how did that help you kind of overcome some of these challenges that you were having?
Tara Camp
Well, snowboarding probably saved my life. My dad took me on a random ski trip when I was 20, and it changed the trajectory and the movement helped, I think, more than anything. It helped to just move and the move. The energy that I was experiencing, which was just depression and stagnation and. And, you know, not even having a will to live. And then snowboarding brought me into a new world. It opened me up and showed me, like, that there was a different way to live. Through movement, but also adventure.
Jay Sling
Yeah. The thrill, the nature, kind of overcoming the frostbite, Right?
Tara Camp
Yes, definitely. That's a frostbite on the cheeks.
Jay Sling
Also the warm french fries when you go into the. For lunch in the afternoon.
Tara Camp
Yes, yes, yes. Oh, my gosh. You know, I used to use exercises as an excuse to just eat whatever I wanted.
Jay Sling
Yeah. Yeah.
Tara Camp
And I still do.
Jay Sling
Yeah. But that first ski trip, right, you were living in. Well, he kind of brought you across country to one of the most epic places to go skiing. Right. I mean, tell us where. Where were you on that first snowboard? Where did your dad bring you?
Tara Camp
My. My dad took me on a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Jay Sling
Damn. That's what I'm saying, dad. All right, so prop to dad on that. You know, he didn't bring the. The local bunny hill. Right. He did it proper. I thought that was amazing, you know, but then you kind of continued this snowboarding journey. It kind of changed your life. You became a snowboard instructor, right?
Tara Camp
No, I was. I was never a snowboard instructor, but I couldn't. I was like, if there's powder on the mountain, I'm definitely not going to be waiting on anybody else. So I was never instructor. I actually became an entrepreneur instead because I was like, I need to set my own hours. I need to live my life. And, yeah, that's where my entrepreneurship was born.
Jay Sling
All right, so, yeah, I mean, tell us about your business. What do you. What do you do? And, yeah, give us a little background.
Tara Camp
I host retreats, and I also do online workshops. I do coaching to help people to live lives they love to live, to. To have epic relationships, to make more money, to live the lifestyle that they might not even know or think is possible.
Jay Sling
Yeah, I think in today's terms, they might. I might. I might be coining this and saying it for the first time, but maybe it's like life maxing.
Tara Camp
Yes, yes, yes. Life maxing. Get. Yeah. Pushing all the edges, getting the most out of life, being our best self, doing all the things we want to.
Jay Sling
Yeah, amazing. And so what kind of people come and find you? You know, like, you've done a ton of these retreats, right? And they're always, like, pretty much fully booked. And so what kind of people find you?
Tara Camp
You know, I've worked with everyone across the board, and I love people that are ready to go all in and just really give it their all, because wholeheartedness is a huge piece of this, because that in and of itself brings us into presence when we're able to go all in with whatever we're doing. So people that are highly motivated, people that want to make more money, they want to be their best self, but more than anything, they want to influence their own life and create that ripple effect in their family, in their community, and in the world.
Jay Sling
Right on. So not necessarily people that are having struggles with their life, but people that are kind of open and being an empty cup to how they can improve their life and kind of, like, maximize it.
Tara Camp
I guess I've shifted gears. I used to work with people that probably had, like, more stuff going on for themselves, like, you know, a ton of baggage, you know, a lot of trauma and whatnot. And. And not to say I don't work with those people anymore, but now I'm highly motivated to work with people really pushing their edges and. And really testing the limits of possibility within themselves. So people that work with me tend to make more money just as a result of working, not even focusing on that, but then we put some focus on that, and that's when, you know, things really catapult forward in a bigger way. But people that want to either manifest or create a better relationship for themselves. So people just really that are pushing their limits and want the most out of life. What did you say earlier?
Jay Sling
Life maxing.
Tara Camp
Yes.
Jay Sling
You know you've got like looks maxing, right? I don't know if you've heard of that. You haven't. That's like, that's what the kids are saying these days. Is Luke smacking where it's. It's basically, you know, kids that are like maybe in their teens and then going on into their 20s and, and doing absolutely everything they can to get a better look and looking better, I mean, but to extremes also, you know, where they're taking hammers and they're kind of like, you know, like they're, they're like trying to chisel their jaw. Right. And we're just like.
Podcast Announcer
No,
Jay Sling
but when it comes to life maxing, right. And things you teach it. I don't know, I just coining it right now.
Tara Camp
Yeah, I know, I love it, I love it. But just to even touch in on what you're saying about what looks. Looks maxi.
Jay Sling
Yes.
Tara Camp
The way you look, Max, is like to tune into your soul because when you have that connection, you feel beautiful without chiseling your jaw or getting the injection.
Jay Sling
Oh my God, I love to hear that.
Tara Camp
Yeah. You just feel rich. Like you feel rich even if you don't have any money. You feel beautiful even if you're not a rock star.
Narrator/Intro Voice
Yeah.
Tara Camp
And all the things, it really does just absolutely fill us up on all levels.
Jay Sling
It's like letting your, your inner beauty shine to the outside. Because now you're more confident, you're. You're willing and ready to take on life, you know? Love it. Love it. You're also talking about this higher vibration that you can tune into. So. Yeah, tell us, tell us like where, where are these retreats? What makes them so special? You know, what's the retreat look like? How many days is it? What's of them?
Tara Camp
I host treat retreats mainly in Destin, Florida, where I live.
Jay Sling
Okay.
Tara Camp
And they are what some people might consider over the top. Like I rent the best houses typically on the beach, you know, multi million dollar houses. And they're typically five days. And from there we, we clear any blocks, any limitations so that we can truly maximize what we're doing in the world. And we freaking have fun doing it.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
We jet ski, we go to Crab island, we go boating because that's. We are meant to live this way. And, and that is the vibration of spirit. It wants us to have fun. It wants us to, you know, live lives that we love.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
And fun is a big part of it, which a lot of people, you know, have shifted away from as we were told to grow up and get a job and get married and all of the things.
Jay Sling
Yeah. Honestly, when we get caught up in our busy schedules, our busy lives, we kind of forget that childlike, you know, that. That childlike spirit that we need to tap into. Right. And adventure sports, Jet skiing helps us do that, just like it did with snowboarding. Right?
Tara Camp
Absolutely.
Jay Sling
Yeah. So you're kind of like, saying, hey, look, this helped me when I was younger. I'm gonna give it to you guys as well.
Tara Camp
Absolutely.
Jay Sling
Nice.
Tara Camp
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, It's. It's wild. Most people know this, but yet they don't. Don't put a lot of it into their lives. You know, if you go on vacation, your. Your business phone starts ringing, and people get busier because they're actually having fun, but then they don't implement that into their everyday life, and that's a drawback.
Jay Sling
Yeah. So you're having a lot of fun on these retreats, and you live in a life of luxury on the beach in Florida. But there's. There's got to be some lessons also. Kind of. You guys are going through morning and afternoon kind of teachings and meditations or tell us a little bit more about that.
Tara Camp
Yeah. So the days definitely have a structure, and they're similar in nature, meaning, you know, certain times of the day, we do certain things, and. And there's also free time woven in. But I've made everything so simple because the universe loves simplicity. And so I've just gotten really good because I've held so many. I've gotten really good at keeping it simple and maximizing the time that we have together. And the clearing work that I do, which helps to clear and remove the blocks, it's really fast.
Jay Sling
So my mentor, who. Disney Imagineer. Right. One of the senior ones, he always used to tell me the acronym kiss. Have you ever heard that?
Tara Camp
Oh, absolutely.
Jay Sling
Okay. Yes. And that's Keep it simple Stupid, right?
Tara Camp
Yeah.
Jay Sling
And that's always. The best things are the most simple things. Right. Even when it comes to. That's why Italians, when they're cooking, you know, they have it tuned down because they know how to keep it simple, Right?
Tara Camp
Yes, absolutely.
Jay Sling
And you were also doing courses or online offering online kind of teachings as well.
Tara Camp
Yeah.
Jay Sling
Yeah. Tell us how you've expanded into that.
Tara Camp
Yeah. So I have created, like, some foundational programs so that you can have an entry point into my world without coming to a retreat.
Jay Sling
All right, and how that. How's that been kind of going from the physical retreats to the online information that you provide?
Tara Camp
It's been good. It's been a really good transition. I. I went about building my business a little backwards, which I didn't know, but my spiritual journey has been very deep. And so when I came out of it, I just was like a newborn, like, oh, how do you do business? Like, and I went in and I started doing retreats instead of, like, building a coaching business or building online and then coaching and then retreats. And that's how most people do it. So it's been. It's been good to. To be able to get those going and impact more people again without someone actually having to come and be in person. And, you know, even the coaching that I do, it doesn't. It's not in person.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
Because time knows no boundaries or energy knows no boundaries, right?
Jay Sling
Oh, actually, I guess so. You tell me, you know.
Tara Camp
Yeah, I mean, I could work with. Yeah, it's funny. Like, you can. If I. If I know somebody in Europe, I can. I can tune in and tap into their energy, or I can feel their energy, or I can work with anywhere or anyone, despite their location.
Jay Sling
Yeah. But I guess that is true, now that I think of it, that our energies do have no boundaries. But it's your job to let people know that and unlock that so that they can get the highest potential out of themselves.
Tara Camp
Absolutely.
Jay Sling
Nice. And then also, you're writing a book or you wrote a book, right? Yeah. Yeah. So tell us a little bit about that.
Tara Camp
It's called the Secrets to Lasting Bliss and Happiness.
Jay Sling
Oh, nice.
Tara Camp
It's a modern path to oneness, embodiment, and love.
Jay Sling
What are some of the tips that people can do to kind of tap into their inner power and that energy?
Podcast Announcer
Yeah.
Tara Camp
You know, I feel like right now, one of the main things going on out there is that people are really loving their humanness, which I love my humanness too.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
But a lot of times I feel like that gives people a reason to hold on to the negativity or the blame or the resentment. And what's important is that we. We, yes, we. We own those and we feel them, but that we're also willing to let them go. And what I say is to clear them. Because before I did my own clearing work, I would try to just be aware or just feeling into the energy to. To just let it come through me. And it does, but it Wouldn't go away. The mind kept coming back or the emotions kept looping. And. And so what I help people to do and I give them the tools, I mean, I help them is to clear it. And it's gone like that and it doesn't keep coming back and we don't keep thinking about it. And so that's a huge part of it. Because if that's in our field and those energies are heavy and they are. They're more like human energies, then it's harder to keep our vibe high if that's what we're holding onto, because the spiritual energies are higher. In order to raise our vibration, we got to let go of the heavy stuff.
Jay Sling
Yeah. I also feel like we're losing kind of a piece of our humanness as, you know, it's almost like after the 80s, you know, and then into the advent of social media and just how social media, you know, it was built to have more human connection, but what it's grown into, where everything has to be content. Everything that you do is no longer something you experience, but, you know, filmed or captured to create content that we're losing this human touch that we used to have so much of, you know. Yeah. How do you fit do, do people kind of talk about that in your retreats? And how do you think about that?
Tara Camp
A place where a lot of people get stuck is, you know, I refer to David Hawkins, Map of Consciousness. Are you familiar?
Jay Sling
No.
Tara Camp
Okay, so it's a massive. Did you say Stephen Hawking's David?
Jay Sling
David Hawking. Okay.
Tara Camp
David Hawkins, I believe it is. Map of Consciousness. So he has, like, put everything on a vibratory scale.
Jay Sling
Okay.
Tara Camp
And people get you like around 400 is the vibration of mind.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
And, and logic. And that's where a lot of people get stuck, especially highly intelligent people. And that's where I got stuck for a long time too, because I was like, stubborn. I was like, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it. And, and so when you speak of that, that's. They're making it mental. They're making it more about the product of what they're doing rather than the experience. And the experience is what draws them in and makes them present and aware and wholehearted. And so I feel that it's, it's, you know, it's an impediment to embodying spirit or releasing the day to day things. And it's just, it's creating more of that mental looping in which, you know, neuroplasticity the more we, we repressed, the more we repeat something, the. The more it's ingrained in us. So it's like retelling the same story in the same way over and over and over makes it easier to retell that story because that energy is inside of us. It's becoming who we are. Like, it's concreting that into our neurology.
Jay Sling
I was actually sitting here with a, with a hypnotist not so long ago, and that was having to do with kind of rewiring the brain. Right. If you keep on repeating something and that could be negative. Right. The neural pathways get stronger. So in order to rewire your brain, you tell yourself something else. Right. You manifest something. Tell yourself something. Stop using the old pathways and they'll kind of weaken. Start using these new pathways and those neural connections will strengthen.
Tara Camp
Absolutely.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
Yeah. There's a couple of ways you can do that. Like one, you override the old or the undesirable with a new behavior. Kind of like me going, hey, I'm leaving Georgia. I'm going to go and snowboard now, thank you very much. But. And you can also do it on a quicker trajectory by clearing. Like you clear the old stuff. The light comes in. The light comes in and it just kind of zaps it away and fills in that darkness with the light. And then it's just easier to be happy without like forcing yourself to either, either like think a new thought or, or go and create new experiences. Does that make sense?
Jay Sling
Absolutely. And what about these vibrations? I know that you've talked about, you know, higher vibrations and kind of living your life with these experiences that help you attain higher vibrations. Is there kind of more. And you mentioned this guy, David Hawkins, who talked about a certain 400 level vibration. Right. Is there more of like a scientific kind of background to vibrations? Right. Because me as a normal Muggle, I'm just like high vibes, you know, And I'm always in those high vibes, you know. But it seems like there's a bigger, deeper understanding to it all, you know? Can you kind of talk to us through some of that?
Tara Camp
Yeah, yeah. I don't know if you can quote me and say, because I, I don't. I do, I do intertwine this. And I've intertwined a lot of it in my book too. And I'm not sure if I can recall it in accuracy. To quote, this is science. So scientifically, there's heart and mind coherence. Right. Do you know what that is? Like, it's Flow.
Jay Sling
Okay.
Tara Camp
When we're in heart, mind coherence.
Jay Sling
Gotcha.
Tara Camp
Both of the heart, the heart and the mind are like rowing the boat in the same direction. They're like, let's go snowboarding.
Podcast Announcer
Yes, yes, yes.
Tara Camp
Or if I, when I was 20, if I would have wanted to go snored snowboarding, but instead I was like, you know, my heart wanted to go, but my mind was like, no, no, we should stay back and get a college degree. Because that's the right thing.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
Then there's a dissonance. There's a. I would be out of coherence.
Jay Sling
Gotcha.
Tara Camp
And I would.
Jay Sling
So what my Filipino mom would tell me to do and what I wanted to do.
Tara Camp
Yeah. So scientifically, I think they call it heart and mind coherence.
Jay Sling
Sure.
Tara Camp
And, and if we look at that scale of consciousness, I don't, I don't think it's, I don't know if it's scientific or not, but basically, you know, Einstein said it, he's like, you can't solve, you can't solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it. That's because, like, if we're trying to, we can't think our way through the problems. Sure, we can solve, we can come up with solutions, but certain things we can't solve because they need especially like with, with raising your vibe or being in flow. Because the mind and logic is on the lower scale, whereas spirit is on the upper, you know, 500 plus. And so if we call spirit in to utilize it, that takes our mind to do it. And so that, that gets the heart and the mind on the same page and back in coherence. But if the mind's refusing to, to integrate spirit or to use spirit, then there's going to be a lack. So I don't know if I, if I actually said anything scientific there, but
Jay Sling
scientific or not, it is good to know about the flow state and talking deeper into that. And is that something that you help people realize how to tap into their flow state so that they can achieve these higher vibrations and achieve the life maxing as we've now coined.
Tara Camp
Yes, yes, yes. So if a person is in their head and in their emotions, then, then they're not surrendering to spirit. They're not surrendering to the high vibes. What I teach is people to just really quick do something. And it will, it clears the, the negative emotions, it stops the mind looping. But also it's, I think, neuroplasticity wise. Again, it brings light into the darkness and and heals that part on a certain level.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
And so that it's. It's taking them out of their mind. And that mind looping, that's creating the getting stuck in the ruts. Right. So you can feel coherence, you can feel flow. And once you get used to feeling that, like, I teach people how to tune in and tap in. You knew that long enough, and it just. It becomes your field. And then you become really sensitive to energy. You can feel when you're out of flow.
Jay Sling
Yeah.
Tara Camp
You can feel when the mind's pulling you out and you're like, holy wow. I mean, I've been experiencing energy my whole life, but I didn't realize it. But now I'm, you know, like, oh, God, I can't overthink this. I'm going for a walk.
Jay Sling
Yeah. And you've had, as we went through during your interview, you had a lot of cool stories about people that are being able to experience this and that have grown so much from all of your retreats and. Yeah, it's amazing that you're able to kind of just bring these people to a higher level and. Yeah. So how do people find you?
Tara Camp
My website is elissanhappiness.com and I'm on Facebook, I'm on Instagram.
Jay Sling
All right.
Podcast Announcer
Yeah.
Jay Sling
What are you. What are you most excited about in the future?
Tara Camp
Oh, my gosh. What am I excited about? I'm always pretty much excited about everything I'm excited to. And it's. Where I'm at right now is I'm moving into. I'm working with people that are, again, pushing their edges. I work with all types of people and really pushing their edges, wanting to make, you know, millions, because I want to impact people that want to make impact. Yeah, right. And. And it's wild how when we shift our. When we shift our vibe, it then affects our family members. I see one person that I work with, their entire family dynamic changing. I mean, last year's text around Christmas, like, with one client, she's like, my whole family's blissed out right now. What's going on? I'm like, hey, I don't know. I mean, you're the one oozing bliss now. Like, I'm not doing anything here. You've shifted. Therefore, the family shift, therefore the community shift. I mean, I've seen my community shift. It's crazy. Like, the animals in my local area, like, there are so many baby. Baby dolphins, so many baby herons. Whereas when I move there, it was depleted. Not to say I did it, but source did it my intentions to be better, to have that impact create a ripple effect. And that's what I see in my clients lives. So. Oh my gosh, what am I excited about? Everything.
Jay Sling
Well, there's so much to discover in her episode, her incredible journey to get to where she is now. But thank you so much for joining us here and thank you guys out there for joining us and we hope you tune in to another episode and. All right, thank you.
