Three things you'd probably never put together if you could guess. But DJing, taxes and manifestation.
Charlie Sacco
It's crazy how I mixed both together because when I was out at events I would promote that I do taxes and I started getting a lot of people in the industry to do their taxes with my tax clients. I would tell them my dj and then when I do events, I'd have tax clients come to my DJ event.

I noticed a whole life change when I started believing manifestation is real. And I started doing things small and got bigger and bigger. And then I manifested I'm going to make $100,000 that year. I didn't make 100,000 doing taxes, I made 99,700. Right. Almost there.
Host
So if I just believe a million dollars will appear, how's a million dollars going to show up? How would you answer that?
Charlie Sacco
I would say that it's not just going to show up. You have and it spans the globe

Hello and welcome back to another episode of Legacy Makers. Joining me today is Charlie and he has a trio of things going on. Three things you'd probably never put together if you could guess, but DJing, taxes and manifestation. Right? Three totally different subject areas that he's passionate about. He helps small business owners and entrepreneurs with their taxes and he DJs for fun and also professionally. So welcome to the show.
Charlie Sacco
Thank you.
Host
So let's. Where do you want to start? I'd love to just hear, you know, maybe give everyone an overview. Obviously I know what you do, but a bit of an overview of, you know, the tax side, the DJ side, and then also something that's close to your heart. The manifestation motivation side.
Charlie Sacco
Yes. So I started doing taxes probably in 1990, 1989. I was, I worked part time for tax accountant. At the same time I got my job at dhl, which I got my degree in computer programming. And the tax business is always like a side thing. And over the years it was building more and more. And I always had a passion for music. And probably back in 2011, I started messing around, DJing just for fun. But when everything really took off is in 2017, when I went to Burning man for the first time, that kind of changed my life. I seen a whole other side of things and the spiritual side. And I got into meditation, and then I started studying Manifestation Law retraction. I started following two my mentors, which is Dr. Joe Dispenzer and Master Sri Axon. And I've been on some of their retreats. And I really got into that more and more. And I noticed a whole life change when I started believing manifestation is real. I started doing things small. I got bigger and bigger. And then basically in 2020, I was manifesting that the tax business is going to be my main source of income over my main job at dhl. And I did that. I said, I'm going to make $100,000 that year. I didn't make 100,000 doing taxes. I made 99,700. Right. Almost there. And it led me to move to Florida. I lived in New York my whole life. Now I have a beautiful dream penthouse condo, which I manifested I paid cash for. I quit my job at DHL in December, Just blowing up my tax business. The DJ career is actually getting bigger and bigger for the show. I actually was going through the B roll and I started just pulling out. I'm gonna take all the DJ flyers of places I DJed. And I didn't realize until I put them all into a folder. I have about 50 different flyers of venues I have done over the years, which is like. And I want to get into producing now and more of the coaching because I got so many of my friends into meditation and manifestation that never in a million years would have done this.
Host
So let me ask you, then, you're a tax expert. You love Manifestation. Can I manifest paying zero taxes?
Charlie Sacco
It's possible. I do my best. And I have a lot of my clients that they came to me the first time and they owed money. And after me, I got them back a refund. And then within a few years, I'm not only doing them, their friends, their family members, everyone. I mean, I take that like, also that's a passion. Because I want to help people and maximize. And if you don't know what you're doing, the tax laws are so.
Host
Yes.
Charlie Sacco
Not in favor of the average person.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's very complex.
Charlie Sacco
Yeah. And I know how to. I'll do every Tax returns as my own.
Host
Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
And I'll spend hours trying if I to just to try and figure out, oh, maybe I could do this. So maybe I could do that.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know, obviously I'm joking with that question, but taxes are a, you know, a thing that we all have to face.
Charlie Sacco
Right.
Host
And most of us have to pay. And, and, but there are a lot of advanced legal ways to lower your taxable income if you understand the tax code. Right. Which is what the IRS puts, puts it out for, for you to understand it. So let's start there and we can go into manifestation side if someone's listening, they're an entrepreneur, they're probably paying taxes, you know. So what are some general advice like mistakes or tips that they can use to start improving their tax situation?
Charlie Sacco
If you have a small business, first of all, one of the good best things to do it depends on what you're making is if you have lots of people start with like even getting an LLC is if it's a small business and you're making a decent amount of money, you want to transfer that business LLC into an S corp. Yep. Because with an S Corp you could do a lot more savings, a lot more expenses and it funnels into your personal taxes. But it is one of the best things to do if you have a small business.
Host
Yeah. And I did that many years ago. And it's just a form. Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
It's just 2553. You fill out to have it transferred.
Host
Yeah. And what are some. Just give free examples of how that helps as an S Corp tax.
Charlie Sacco
So S Corp doesn't. You don't pay taxes on escort.
Host
Yeah. So basically it's a flow through.
Charlie Sacco
It's a flow through and you want to keep that separate. So you open up a separate business account, have a business credit card.
Host
Yes.
Charlie Sacco
And you could. There's a lot more deductions that you can legally claim on S corp and also on an S corp depending on if you have employees or if you don't have employees, you'll w to yourself some of the income. But a lot of it you could put on what's called a K1 which is investment income and you'll see what's on self employment taxes with a 12.9% tax.
Host
Yep, yep. That's a good tip. What, what else do you see as common mistakes or issues with tax? You know, with entrepreneurs and taxes and small businesses. Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
That's one of the main things. And people just not keeping proper records because when you're doing the Expenses, you should really have a P and L profit loss, a balance sheet. And a lot of people intermingle their personal with their business stuff. And you don't have to send the receipts. You don't have to send the stuff when you do taxes. But they look at it a lot more. And if you get a audit, which could be a paper audit, they want to see where these expenses. Income came from. You don't have it. Now say you made $100,000 and you have $50,000 in expenses, and then they want to see where those expenses came from. And you don't have it logged. Right. You don't have it. Right. They override it. And now you're paying taxes on $100,000 plus the penalty. Plus the penalty and the interest, when maybe you really did have the correct expenses, but you don't have proof of it.
Host
Yeah, yeah. So keeping receipts, invoices, linking them in QuickBooks or whatever you use to the transaction. Right.
Charlie Sacco
Yes.
Host
Yep. Good. What else in terms of other tips? You know, I have been audited. I've had an IRS audit and, you know, done. I, I didn't pay any penalties. But you learn a lot through that process, too, about itemization and record keeping. And I think most entrepreneurs do a very bad job of that, like all the contractor, you know, all those employment docs and invoices. So any other tips around record keeping?
Charlie Sacco
Well, especially if you have employees, you want to make sure, like a lot of people know they have to have worker's comp and stuff like that. And, and on payroll, keeping correct records on that.
Host
On that contract. And a lot of entrepreneurs start with all contracts.
Charlie Sacco
Yeah. With contract.
Host
And then they don't have the form filled out.
Charlie Sacco
The form filled out, the 1099 and 1096 that you have to send to the IRS for that. So that's another thing. And again, if and when we got
Host
audited, we had to provide every single.
Charlie Sacco
Yeah.
Host
You know, we'd had hundreds of contractors. Luckily we had most of them. There's a few we didn't have, but. Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
And again, if you're not. If you could submit everything and if it might go through, fine. But you don't want to take that chance of them, you being the one that could be a random order just picked by a computer.
Host
Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
Not even you did anything wrong. And then.
Host
Well, I got ordered to because I had, I had spent too much on advertising because I spent so much on Facebook ads. I got flagged in the system because I spent millions and millions of dollars on advertising.
Charlie Sacco
And it could be random and it doesn't matter. Like some people, oh, if I make a little bit of money, it doesn't matter because I've had a client that made a considerable amount of money and had a lot of expenses, never asked for anything. And then another client who had 100 1099, I think it was only for like I'm a little under 20,000 and had like 5,000 expenses and they ordered and want to see every receipt on that. But so it's like there's no rhyme or reason behind it.
Host
Sometimes it's like the secure at the back. You know, when you get your bags at the airport, they pull a few of the bags to the side. Right. It's just totally random.
Charlie Sacco
Yeah.
Host
Good. So let's talk about a bit about taxes. Let's. You know, fascinating topic, the mind manifestation. Right. And it's. I think it's kind of strange for someone in taxes, which is so like analytical data, like this is what it says versus manifestation is literally the opposite.
Charlie Sacco
Whatever we can imagine.
Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Charlie Sacco
And what's crazy, before 2017, that was me.
Host
Yeah, yeah.
Charlie Sacco
I was totally didn't believe any of that. And one of my good friends was always like about meditation and this and I'm like, ah, stuff that's all garbage. I've never, I never believed in it.
Host
Yeah, yeah. I used to be more like that too because I was a data scientist. Yeah. So I was similar and like I want to see it written down, you know, in a study or whatever. Right.
Charlie Sacco
And like I said, I was on the time with a burning man and I had some experiences there and I was like, now started second guessing. I'm like, there's more to this world than this, this three dimensional reality.
Host
So. So let's just start. If someone's listening, they don't understand it or believe in it. What, Explain what is manifestation?
Charlie Sacco
Manifestation is I believe that your thoughts create a reality.
Host
Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
So manifestation is you'll visualize something that you want in your future and you manifest it into reality. You cannot do that with your analytical mind. So the best way of doing that is you want to meditate where you're emptying out everything from the analytical mind and you're basically in your subconscious where you're not thinking of anything. You're almost in like this, what's called the theta. Theta brainwave state is all frequencies and then you can reprogram your brain and visualize your future. And I've done this over and over and you have to believe in it.
Host
Yeah.
Charlie Sacco
And I started small when I watched the Secret. And there was one thing that caught me. This one person was like, I started small by manifesting parking spots. And I said, let me try this one day. And I used to go to the city and clubs and everything. And me and my friend were driving a separate cost of Brooklyn, and there's never spots. And the whole way I'm manifesting two spots, like visualizing exactly where on the block of the club. And we're coming around the block, and my friend went to park two blocks away. And I call him, like, just follow me. And he's like, why? This is a good spot. I'm like, follow me. We come down the block. Literally, the only two spots in the whole block were two spots together next to each other.
Host
That was a start for you?
Charlie Sacco
Yeah, that was a start. I'm like, but now I have to prove it. Once is a coincidence. And I do it over and over. And then started doing bigger things. And the more you do it, the more you believe. But it's not a matter of, like, you're going to close your eyes, meditate, and manifest these things. When it gets bigger, you also have to take action and prepare to take the action. Because the universe could drop what you want right in front of your face. But if you're not taking action, it'll just pass you by.
Host
So. So let me follow up. Someone's listening. And I had someone ask me this when I talked about it one day. They said, so if I just believe a million dollars will appear, is a million. How. How's a million dollars going to show up? How would you answer that?
Charlie Sacco
I would say, that's not just going to show up. You have to take action. And I'll tell you, one of the latest things I did was the biggest is how I met one after I moved down here from New York, and how I manifested. I had my house in New York I was trying to sell for like seven months. And I. And I was looking for houses down here. I never thought I would get a condo because I like it. Houses. And then I seen from Dr. Joe Dispenza, he put up one video on. It's called 369 manifesting technique. Which it's basically you would. In the morning, you would say in your mind what you wanted to manifest. And I was like, okay, I'm going to manifest. I get my dream house and pay cash for it. Then you would close your eyes, do a little meditation, and visualize that. Then you would write that down three times in the morning. Six times in the afternoon, nine times at night.
Host
18. So 18 times.
Charlie Sacco
And then the next morning you're going to do the same exact thing, but you're going to add, you're going to take some action to make that goal happen. So I did this the first day. I'm going to manifest my dream house and pay cash for it. Now my realtor. The next day I was looking, I've been looking online, looking online and I found, oh, good price on a condo, it seems, really, really good price for it. And I had my realtor set it up, set it up this week to look at three places. So I did that whole thing the second day and then we looked at it and she set me up for three places. We looked at a house, I didn't really like it. We looked at a townhouse. Oh, that's pretty nice. And then we looked at this penthouse condo. I walk in, I'm like, whoa, I think this might be the place. Five days later, I was in contract, I sold my house one month later and I paid cash for this. And I was looking for eight months within five days if I did that.
Host
Well, even if you take manifestation out, that exercise is good because it gives you focus. Even if manifestation wasn't true, let's pretend, yeah. That exercise alone makes you hyper focused on your goal, which we all know is going to achieve.
Charlie Sacco
And it's also pre programming your brain. So now you're putting, you're making these new synaptic connections. We're in your subconscious now. Your, your subconscious is now at that goal.
Host
Yeah, yeah. And then, you know, a big part of manifestation, I'm not a manifestation expert, but a big part of it, at its core is, which I teach not about manifestation, about achieving your goals, is if you don't believe something's possible, it's never going to happen. Like this, this is irrelevant. Right. Like so. So the first step to achieving any goal which is kind of manifestation is you've got to at least under believe and understand and accept that you can achieve it. Right. And, and that's kind of like the whole red car theory or yellow car fear. If you think about red cars, you'll start seeing red cars on the road, right? And that's part of, you know, manifestation at its core, which it helps, apart from all the other magic and brain stuff, is the, the focus and the attention to it, you know, And I think that's so undervalued, like you know, just being hyper focused on what you want. And that's how I responded to the Million dollar thing. When someone asked me, I said, look, I'm not a manifestation expert, but what I can tell you is if you don't think you'll ever make a million dollars, you'll never make. Whereas if you believe you'll make a million dollars, you'll start figuring out ways to make a million dollars. Right? And I think that in itself is so important too.
Charlie Sacco
Yes, 100%.
Host
So, last question, DJing side. Tell us about, about the DJ side. Well, it's all because I. Because again, you've gone from accounting numbers to creatives, right?
Charlie Sacco
So I always love music. I go out, like always going to clubs, always, like out of my group, I'd be the ones who get everybody in the clubs, vip, this, that. And I just had this way about my, my, my, my friend, My friend Sal used to say I had to do the Jedi mind tricked to get to get what I want all the time. And then one day we used to get. I used to get Hampton Houses. I used to run Hampton Houses for the summer, like the whole summer. 25 people in the houses, throw parties. And then. And I used to have other DJs come to the house as a DJ. And then one day I just started messing around. I think it was like 2010 with the music. And like someone was like, oh, that's pretty good. And I just started doing it on my own.
Host
Yeah, yeah.
Charlie Sacco
And then it's crazy how I mixed both together. Cause when I was out at events, I would promote that I do taxes. And I started getting a lot of people in the industry to do their taxes.
Host
Well, New York's a great place for that, right?
Charlie Sacco
And with my tax clients, I would tell them my dj. And then when I do events, I'd have tax clients come to my DJ event. So I actually really started merging it together. And then when I moved down here, I said, I've always wanted to do this. And I found because I always had two different cards and I have one up right here. And I finally did it this year. I actually took my business cards, which is Sacko Tax accounting on one side and you flip it over and it's
Host
my DG business on the other side.
Charlie Sacco
And people thought it was crazy, but it works. I merged two opposite completely things that you never think together.
Host
Well, I think that is the beauty of entrepreneurship in the modern Times. Because, yeah, 25 years ago, no one would hire you as an accountant if you got DJ on your side. But now, but now I think the world is more open to these pursuits of goals and dreams. And doing what you want to do in life. Right? Like, I think that's. You know, I always say I'm an entrepreneur, but I'm a big kid at heart. I want to make things fun and my office is fun and everything we do and how we advertise and create content. So I love that. Good. So last question. People want to hire you to dj, hire you to do their taxes or learn more Manifestation from you. Where do they go to find you?
Charlie Sacco
Okay, so all my tax business, I have my website, sacco, taxaccounting.com. i'm also have my business account on Google for the taxes. DJing is my Instagram. I have DJ underscoreSacco, and I also have on Facebook my regular. My regular personal page. And then I have my DJ DJ Sacco page. And I have also on Facebook, my tax accounting page. And I also have my SoundCloud for DJing, which is DJ Charlie Sacco. And there I have my sets and some music and some remixes.
Host
Good. Love it. Well, there you go, guys. Check him out. Awesome business that he's doing and having a lot of fun along the way. And obviously go follow for the Manifestation stuff. Super powerful stuff if you're not doing it already. A lot of big entrepreneurs have it all in common and they also probably pay taxes, so they have good tax people to help them too.
Charlie Sacco
And one more thing which I want to get more into coaching with the Manifestation. I also have a page on Facebook. It's called. It's my coaching page too. Right now I'm just putting on different, like, meditations and stuff throughout mentors.
Host
Good. Well, we'll throw it all in the show notes and as always, follow your dreams. I hope that today's episode inspired you to do that and have some fun along the way and make it your own. Right? That's a great takeaway from today's episode. So work hard, have an impact, and I'll see you guys soon. Take care.
