To conclude our 4-part series celebrating Black History Month, The Lovecast pays tribute to legendary Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, activist, and the father of Afrobeat music, the late great Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The subject of numerous documentary films, in-depth podcasts, and a Broadway musical based on his life. Now, 29 years after his passing, Fela has just been honoured with the 2026 Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music. In honour of Fela, Dave O Rama mixes up a Lovecast tribute passionately crafted from Fela originals, cover versions of his songs, and musical tributes from recording artists influenced by his massive recorded output.
