It's a Sam-solo casual Friday and Digby is here to wrap up the week that was. Sam takes in the Fox News discussion about the pope, which acknowledges that Jesus would be on the side of migrants if he was alive today, but also wonders whether he'd be...

My name is Sam Cedar. This is the five time award winning Majority report. We are broadcasting live steps from the industrially ravaged Gowanus Canal in the heartland of America, downtown Brooklyn, usa. On the program today, Digby from the blog Hullabaloo or you may know her as Heather Parton, contributing writer at Salon. Also on the program, David Feldman from the David Feldman Show. Sort of like a throwback lefty from way back. David Feldman will be joining us. Also on the program today, Trump now says he'll take an 80% tariff deal with China as China reports a huge surge in its non US Exports. Whoopsie. US Car makers fuming over Trump's UK Car deal where UK Cars can now come in cheaper than partly made American cars coming in from Canada and Mexico under our existing trade deals.

Good night from my Rolls Royce.
Sam Cedar
Trump named psycho Jeanine Pirro the new interim D.C. u.S. Attorney after dumping psycho Ed Martin. The Republican reconciliation bill, the one big beautiful bill, is a mess. Trump floats increased taxes for people earning over $2.5 million, 3% bump. I wonder if they can handle it. Democrats block corrupt genius act for the time being. Fetterman's polling in Pennsylvania in the toilet ICE rolls back protections for pregnant women and infants who are in its custody because of course, Pentagon moves to discharge 1000 openly trans service members, gives 30 days for others to self ID. Federal court finds Alabama to have intentionally diluted the voting strength of black voters, opening them up to section 3 pre clearance under the Voting Rights Act. And rest assured, folks, 54 Afrikaners given refugee status in this country will be flying in either on a chartered jet or commercial jet within days. And lastly, the new pope is American and thinks J.D. vance is a douche. All this and more on today's Majority Report. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Thanks so much for joining us. Emma is out today. I guess I need to apologize in advance for my voice. I mean, it actually probably sounds better than it normally does. It, it sounds a little bit more radio and, but I think it's confusing people. I have some type of frog in my throat. I don't know what it's from. I didn't even notice it until both Russ and Matt were like, are you, do you have a cold? I can't hear myself. That's, that's the only way I'm able to do this job.
Emma Vigeland
Despite that monitor in your ear right now.
Sam Cedar
I, I have the headphones, but that's just for, that's just so I look like I'm listening to myself. But that's really more just to complete the look, we got a lot to get to today. Of course we have David Feldman on the program. So we just got to get through that. New pope announced yesterday during the course of the show, he's going to, he's adopted the name Pope Leo xiv. I'm not gonna lie. I didn't dig too deeply into what that's about. I'm a lot less interested in the Pope than I think most people are. I mean, I think it's good to have a Pope who's not a former Nazi or something like that.
Emma Vigeland
That's an improvement, which is.
Sam Cedar
So that's an upgrade. And the last Pope was helpful, I think, in some respects, in terms of, like, helping Catholics move into the 20th century, probably, if not the 21st. And this pope seems to be more or less similarly aligned to the last Pope. I'm sure there's some things that this Pope doesn't support that I do, and there's some stuff that he probably does support that I am happy about. But I can't get too excited about the Pope, except for the fact that he was sort of slamming JD Vance on Twitter before he thought he was gonna be the Pope. Yeah.
Emma Vigeland
Even as a raised Catholic, I can only care in this sort of negative polarity of. So if they're. And if they're making JD Vance mad and people are calling them commies and woke, then, you know, sure, I'll take it.
Sam Cedar
Exactly. I prefer woke Marxist pope over some other version of him.
Emma Vigeland
Youth Pope.
Sam Cedar
Exactly. But I will also say, and there's a video going around, and I don't know if it's actually real, but it appears that, you know, back when the Pope was a kid, in his late teens in Chicago, he had a situationship with some woman. And I watched the family get super excited about the fact that their mom hooked up with the Pope, which also, I mean, that sounds like fun. But here is Will Kane. The last time we checked in with Will Kane, he was. What was he going on about? Like, oh, it was Max Frost. Not Max. Congressman was returning from El Salvador. And. And I think Frost made a claim that the President, United States was interested in deporting US Citizens homegrowns. Homegrowns. And Wilkin got very, very indignant. Did you have a citation for that? He said it multiple times. Oh, is that really true? Over and over again. And then took a break and came back and said, well, it turns out, yes, there's a lot of evidence and, like, multiple video. The examples of when the President said this. But nevertheless, my point stands, even though the evidence. I have one. Hate.
Emma Vigeland
Yeah, why didn't believe it.
Sam Cedar
But here is Will Kane with Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo. And they are an interesting sort of, like, parsing of. I can't tell. Maybe they have a problem with Jesus Too.
David Feldman
The record is a mixed bag, but there are indications. When you saw the Pope come out today, okay, he was wearing the traditional mazzetto, that red garment, you know, atop his white cassock. That is a. That's kind of a cry back to the past. That's a wink at tradition. So a lot of traditionalists and conservative.
Sam Cedar
People said, oh, look, he's dressing like a pope.
David Feldman
We frankly haven't seen this in 12.
Sam Cedar
Years with Pope Francis. So maybe Leo will be, as he.
David Feldman
Mentioned in his speech today, bridge builder, one hopes. I mean, when you look at his.
Sam Cedar
Twitter feed, you know, he was for open borders in the United States and.
David Feldman
Kind of took potshots at J.D.
Sam Cedar
Vance and the Trump administration.
David Feldman
But look, all popes are going to support migrants, support the poor, support peace. That is, their heart goes out to humanity. That's with the job.
Sam Cedar
I don't. Jesus would do the same.
David Feldman
I don't know if he'd get so political and that they're going to have to be careful of. But maybe.
Sam Cedar
Positive one second. Once you contemplate, like, now, let's just for the moment, assume that Jesus existed and the reports on his activities are accurate and that even Arroyo is like, well, you're going to your hearts, you're going to be supportive of migrants and, you know, feeding people, that type of thing. I don't know if Jesus would get so political. Like, what. What do you imagine politics were like at that time when Jesus walked the Earth? Like, were politics like sort of more like, well, the prefects, there's, you know, 42. There's going to be a reconciliation bill, and it's hard to know. Or was it basically just like, hey, we should either, you know, be nice to people or not be nice to people? Like, what were the politics of the day that you really had an opportunity to sort of weigh in on? Would you like to die by spear or by sword or just have your head bashed in with a rock? Those are the multiple choices you have at that point. You don't want Jesus getting too political. All right, go back. Let's listen to this guy again. I wonder if they ever catch themselves saying stuff like this and go, oh, oh, damn it.
David Feldman
They're going to have to be careful.
Sam Cedar
You know, he was for open borders in the United States and kind of.
David Feldman
Took pot shots at J.D. vance and the Trump administration. But look, all popes are going to support migrants, support the poor, support peace. That is, their heart goes out to humanity. That's with the job.
Sam Cedar
I don't.
David Feldman
Jesus would do the Same. I don't know if he'd get so political and that they're going to have to be careful of, but maybe Pope Leo can bring together the broken parts of this church and Christianity and our society and offer a countercultural moral clarion call that I think we need now.
Sam Cedar
Oh, how about the moral clarion call for not rounding up immigrants on the streets of the country? How about that?
Emma Vigeland
That's the political stuff you're complaining about.
Sam Cedar
Literally yesterday they just ice, just grabbed a, a woman off the streets in Worcester, Mass. We'll play some footage of that. I don't know if Jesus would weigh in on that because it's more of like a municipal thing. I don't know that he would get that political about it.
Emma Vigeland
Like he sometimes got political with like would Jesus tweet?
Sam Cedar
Unbelievable.
Heather Parton
You know what I haven't dug into, but I'm going to this weekend. The Pope served in Peru and there was, you know, a civil conflict there involving Marxist insurgents and then right wing death squads and a right wing president who waged a terribly violent war against the Shining Path, killed, you know, thousands of indigenous people. Really curious what his track record is there, but that might be illuminating.
Sam Cedar
Can't we check Twitter? Wasn't he not, was he not tweeting at that time?
Heather Parton
I don't think they had Twitter in the 80s, but maybe there's some rudimentary form of Twitter.
Sam Cedar

Sam.

Glad to be here.
Sam Cedar
Just another fun week we've got. We're past the 100 day mark, but it really honestly feels like 100 years at this point of the Trump administration to some extent the active DOGE is no longer as active. It's just now embedded and slowly corrupting our government, both degrading its capacity and in many respects I think just sort of out and out corrupting it. And I feel like that's going to be a story that we're going to end up circling back to in the coming months depending on how they mess up Social Security. And when we start getting numbers coming out of the irs, all the auditors they've cut, we're looking at with the air traffic controllers at this point. Sean Duffy's out there trying to blame the Democrats for this. It really is stunning. But the big news of course is tariffs. And we are everyone I talk to from like I've run, I literally ran into an economist last night and she's like we're cooked. Business people I've talked to are like, well, we're cooked but we may be able to if, if he, if he changes something this weekend, we might be okay. They may Trump made a deal yesterday with the British and it with the UK and pissed off the car manufacturers because it ends up letting in British cars with no American parts will actually be cheaper in some instances than US Cars because they have a certain percentage of their parts that are made either in Canada or Mexico. And even if they're compliant with the U.S. the USMCA, a trade deal is still going to be subject to like 25% tariffs. I want to play this clip from JD Vance. For whatever reason, the Trump administration seems to have it in their head that it's a good thing to keep telling people they're not going to have there's not going to be enough dolls for kids. So the president said, you know, maybe.
Tim Pool
American kids should have three dolls instead.
Sam Cedar
Of 30 or whatever the number was.
Tim Pool
Do you agree? Do you tell the people of this.
Sam Cedar
Country that you need to make some sacrifices in order to reorganize this bad trade relationship? Well, I think the president's point here is that yeah, we do need to become more self reliant and that's not.
David Feldman
Going to happen overnight.
Sam Cedar
And it' always going to be easy, Martha. But What I'd ask people is not whether they want two dolls or five dolls or 20 dolls for their kids. I'd ask American moms and dads, would you like to be able to go into a pharmacy and know that the.
David Feldman
Drugs your kids need are actually available.
Sam Cedar
To you as an American parent, would you like to, God forbid, if it goes to a. Now, Heather, help me on that. Like, we're gonna put. We're gonna put tariffs on. On drugs. Or we may. I don't know. It depends on what?
Tim Pool
The day about it.
Sam Cedar
Yeah, but there haven't been shortages of drugs. As it stands now, we can manufacture drugs in this country more than we do. It's unclear that's what's going to happen. The US Government could be manufacturing generics right now, as we do for, like, the va and. And certainly, like, you know, they're rolling back some of the price cuts that we had on, like, Medicaid drugs. Like, what's the connection here?
Tim Pool
I do not know that one. Just. I'm going, is that a thing that people are taking their kids into the pharmacy and they can't get the drugs they need? So we need to put tariffs on drug manufacturers to raise the price, obviously, of those drugs and make them even less accessible. I mean, this is the kind of logic we're dealing with across the board. It made no sense. I don't think he knows what he's talking about. And it's kind of interesting that even JD is now basically turning himself into a pretzel trying to explain what they're doing. It's kind of amazing.
Sam Cedar
I mean, it's kind of amazing because nobody can come up with a rational sort of explanation for it. I mean, I am certainly open to the idea that, you know, maybe access to drugs is a national security issue, and so let's have the US Government manufacture these drugs again. We have provisions where we do do some generics for the va. We could easily do this. We could easily manufacture these drugs or have some manufacturing capacity. But that's not what he's talking about. There's actually no incentive structure whatsoever for these drugs to be manufactured. It's crazy. All right, but let's continue. All those are five dolls or $20 for their kids. I'd ask American moms and dads, would you like to be able to go into a pharmacy and know that the.
David Feldman
Drugs your kids need are actually available to you?
Sam Cedar
As an American parent, would you like to, God forbid, if your country goes to a war and your son or daughter is sent off to Fight. Would you like to know that the weapons that they have are good American.
David Feldman
Made stuff, not made by a foreign adversary?
Sam Cedar
What President Trump is talking about, have we been using foreign made weapons in this country?
Tim Pool
I'm just thinking arms manufacturers in the world. Nobody comes close to manufacturing as many arms as we do. Come on.
Sam Cedar
Well, wait a second. What about in the Revolutionary War? I bet you, I'm going to bet that some of those weapons probably came from France, right?
Tim Pool
There were some French muskets being being used there and it was a problem, you can bet, because they just weren't any good.
Sam Cedar
Because what is the connection in his mind between toy manufacturing and weapons manufacturing? Can you retool something that's making a Barbie into like, like making F15s?
Tim Pool
I guess, I guess we're gonna. This is that modern manufacturing everybody's talking about, where they're going to be able to just retool them instantly with AI or something and make, you know, Barbies into, you know, M16s or something. I don't know. The fact that he even went there and started talking about sending your kids off to war. When I heard it, I went, oh my God. What, what is he talking about? Where's that coming from? That suddenly we're, we're concerned about our inability to fight a war. We have, you know, I mean, this idea that, you know, that, I mean, forget the ability to fight, you know, the fighting of the war. The idea that the United States is in any way, you know, lacking in our ability to, you know, obtain military equipment or arms or anything like that is absolutely ridiculous. If you look at the budget which they're trying to slash, you notice they're going to actually raise the military spending again in the, in all the budgets. This is the least of our problems when it comes to manufacturing military equipment. We are unparalleled. And the idea that he would use that is just unbelievable to me. I mean, it's shocking that he would go there in that, in that, you.
Sam Cedar
Know, it seems so desperate. Like, you know, like I let's, I can't in any way justify what the President's talking about. I have no idea what he's saying. But let me remind you, we could all die in a war and that's a lot more important. I mean, the, the, the interesting thing though is like, you know, there is an argument from a technological standpoint, like we had problems with cars during COVID because of all the chip manufacturing that was happening in China. And so that explains why during the Biden administration, they pushed the CHIPS act, which was, you know, one part tariff, one part, maybe even two parts, incentive structures and retraining and whatnot. But they don't, they can't even make that argument because there's no other part to this except for a blanket tariff on the entire world. Like there are countries who were not aligned with China and we're still as a baseline with a 10% tariff.
Tim Pool
Well, yeah, I mean, look at what this British deal that they just did with the UK yesterday. It's not a deal. I mean, nothing happened other than he lifted the car manufacturing stuff, actually made it, you know, less, made American car manufacturers less competitive. But it's a 10% tariff that's, that's still on all the British goods. And that was something that existed, you know, on April, on Liberation Day, he put a 10% tariff across the board and they didn't lift that. And apparently they're not going to. This 10% tariff is going to exist across the board. They have no intention of lifting that in any case, anywhere, which is ridiculous because that's 10% more. We're all going to be paying for everything going forward. And the idea that Britain, we had a trade surplus with, with the uk, so by Trump's logic, they should be tariffing us, not the other way around. It's absolutely bizarre. But see, this is the problem with this whole thing. It's like you sit here and try to figure it out. I mean, I watch these guys on tv, like Justin Wolfers, the economist from Michigan, he's all over TV and he's pretty good at explaining things and he's got a good sense of humor. And you sit there and even he, who has, you know, very obviously a very strong grasp on the meaning of all these terms and what's going on, he's just sitting there with, you know, kind of shaking his head in wonder because there is literally no logic to anything that we're doing. And I guess that's the art of the deal, which is kind of a weird economic madman theory, I guess, that you scare the hell out of everybody and you're so unpredictable that nobody knows what you're doing, that they'll all capitulate.
Sam Cedar
But the point is, like, what is capitulation? Look, like nobody knows. That's the problem is that the madman theory works if there is an outcome that you want. And the madman theory is a tactic or towards an end game. But it's unclear what the end game is here. Like, they. Are they looking just to raise money? Are they looking to build US manufacturing The. You wouldn't do the same. You wouldn't. If the answer to that. You can't have the answer that question. Both. Right.
Tim Pool
It's one or the other.
Sam Cedar
It's sort of one or the other. If you raise all this money from tariffs, it means it's because there's no other option for people to buy something and therefore you're not generating U.S. manufacturing capacity and vice versa. All we're going to get is inflation. But it also appears that we're going to have, and we are literally a couple of weeks away from starting to see spot shortages. Except for the, the outside chance that this weekend Trump is, or I said, I guess Scott Passant maybe is meeting in Switzerland with Chinese representatives and Trump today or yesterday. Do we have any of those tweets up? This is what Trump had tweeted out. Let's put that Trump, I guess Besant, is like pitching the idea of maybe dropping the tariffs from 145% to 80%. Now, here is Trump on Truth Social. He says, pop this up. This is 80% tariff on China. Seems right up to Scotty B. Now, from what I've read and what I've seen economists say over and over again, anything over a 50% tariff is essentially an embargo. Right. Like nobody's, no one's going to ship anything here. And then he goes on to say China should open up market to the USA would be so good for them. Closed markets don't work anymore. And I guess, well, he's, he's saying that there are, you know, that China has tariffs on us, but they've certainly like tripled or quadrupled the tariffs in response to his.
Tim Pool
Yeah.
Sam Cedar
Imposing these tariffs. Tariffs are bad. Except for when I do it, his tariffs are good.
Tim Pool
Well, look, I mean, all the, all of this, you have to kind of, you know, pull back, back every once in a while and try to realize what it is that Trump's actually doing. And what he's doing is trying to prove that he was right about tariffs. Now, all that means is, is that he thought that tariffs were good and that tariffs would make America great again. And that's it. There was nothing more specific. You know, when you ask about, you know, what are they bringing manufacturing, is he bringing more money? And it's all those things. He didn't realize that there was any. He doesn't understand that a trade deficit or a trade surplus is not a bad thing in and of itself. He hears the word deficit and it sounds like loser. Right. So he decided that that's the we're losing. We've got a deficit. So he's decided that, you know, that's the bad thing and that he had any. But of course, he hit tariffs on countries that didn't even have a trade deficit. He just threw it up on everybody. So it's all about him proving, you know, he wears that stupid ha. That says Trump was right about everything. And there's a, you know, T shirts and they're all running around doing that. I really think a big part of this is just him. He's just frustrated by the fact that people don't believe him about this tariff thing. He's out there all by himself. The economists are doing. I'm sure he gets a little pushback even from Scotty B. From time to time. It seems like he does that, you know, maybe this isn't the best way to go about this. And that he certainly did in the first term when he had guys like Gary Cohn in there telling him, no, you know, this, you'll tank the economy if you do this. He just won't believe it. And he wants to prove that he was right. But the problem is. And so he just is doing it.
Sam Cedar
Just.
Tim Pool
It's. It's no different, really, than him waking up and going, oh, I'm gonna, you know, put tariffs on movies because we got to make movies American again, you know, or whatever it is.
Sam Cedar
I mean, also, it was my idea to take bleach to get rid of COVID just in case we ever use that.
Tim Pool
Right, Right. You know that this is, this is where he's at. So you can't look at this in any way as having any kind of economic logic. It doesn't, clearly, and we know that. But the consequences of it, on the other hand, are obvious. And it really appears. I'll be a common. I'm no economist, but from. I read a lot of them and they're all saying it looks like a recession's coming, folks. And that's even if this weekend that Trump makes the big 80% deal with China, Scotty B. Makes the 80% deal with China, it's still going to happen because you've got this, you know, this since April 2nd, you know that we've had the ships that aren't being loaded and aren't coming over from China. They're doing a lot of local news here in Los Angeles because the big port of LA here, Port of Long beach, is one of the biggest in the country. I think it's the second biggest port.
Sam Cedar
Louisiana. Is the biggest. I Think and Long beach may be the second biggest.
Tim Pool
Yeah, huge. And they've got, and you know, they're already laying off people because it's already started. You know, they're just, they just have, they've been getting empty containers. The boats aren't coming in. They've been much less shipping. And the truckers are all being laid off. They're not getting the work. This is already happening. And as you know, Trump said yesterday when they asked him about it in the press avail that he had for the UK tariff deal, they said, well, you know, they're doing that. You know, all these truckers are being laid off and the longshoremen and all that. And he went, well, that's good. That means we're not spending that money. You know, like, I mean, what kind of, what president would ever say something like that? But again, he's got to prove to himself or prove to the world somehow that he's right about this and he's completely wrong and I guess it's going to have to be proven. Now, he does have a habit of, you know, capitulating and calling it a big win. And I suspect that is sort of what he's starting to, you know, he has said he has kind of a feral survival instinct. So there's a part of him that may be sort of grokking that this isn't really going his way.
Sam Cedar
Yeah.
Tim Pool
And so he'll start to find, try to figure out ways like he did with the UK deal. Oh, it's a big, big deal. It's huge. It's gigantic. You know, Bigley, Bigley made a big, big deal and we finally made a new ally. Exactly. So, you know, maybe he's going to find ways and people will find ways around it and they'll do and they'll come and, you know, kiss his feet in, you know, and do a big performance at the White House and that will, that will be the end of it. But the damage is already done. Yeah, it does feel, I don't think there's any going back.
Sam Cedar
I want to just read this report that I saw today or yesterday. Chinese exports surged in April on the back of shipments to Southeast Asian countries. Now it's quite possible, you know, companies are exporting to these Southeast Asian company countries because they have less tariffs imposed on them. And then sort of like, it's almost like a drop shipping type of situation.
Tim Pool
Situation.
Sam Cedar
Reuters had estimated a 1.9% rise in Chinese exports. It was 8.1%. However, China's exports to the US dropped 21%. Now the, the guy from the L A Port of L A said that his anticipation was anticipating like a 35% less imports essentially from that year. Imports from China dropped 14%. That presumably is not getting American goods. They're not, we're not, they're not buying American goods.
Tim Pool
Well, all the farmers and all that, you know, there's all that agriculture.
Sam Cedar
So it's not necessarily working out like we thought. They're able to export their exports going up now that may not be sustainable. Maybe it was just a one time deal to go to these other countries. I don't know why that would be the case but clearly like the whole point was what are they going to do with that 12, you know, those imports? Well, those exports. Well, they figured it out where they were going to do with it. And in the meantime where are we getting this stuff from if not from China? Because people forget like, you know, these Southeast Asian countries, they're still paying like a 30 tariff on it. Yeah. So we're going to get the inflation, we may get some of those products but it's going to be inflated, no doubt the cost of these things. We're going to see a bunch of like companies go out of business I think over the next month.
Tim Pool
They're already saying it that they can't, they can't sustain it. These, you know, people, people in, especially in smaller and medium sized, medium sized businesses, they, they operate on a very narrow margin. I mean these aren't people who've got, I mean it's one thing to be dealing with, you know, I don't know, Nike or something, some big company, Apple, but when you, these, all these small businesses, they just don't have any margin to deal with it. And they're already saying we're already feeling the strain of this because they were sort of forced to try and pull in as much inventory as they could. They went out on a limb, they don't know what's going to happen. And by the time, you know, they're, they're buying now for the fall and for Christmas, this is when you start doing that ordering and it's already falling apart. There's going to be a huge, there's going to be a huge, you know, economic fallout from this. And when you combine it with some of the other stuff that Trump is doing, laying off massive numbers of government employees, I know in the D.C. area, I just read an article today that they are really feeling the effects of all these layoffs. These people, you know, they are going into recession in the Virginia and Maryland area all by itself because of all the layoffs. It's like a third of people there have someone in their family or an acquaintance of somebody who's been laid off by the federal government. You've got the west coast here in la, where we were just talking about the ramifications of that whole, the whole port and everything, that the imports that are being affected. This is starting to cascade all across the country. And it's going to happen, I think, pretty fast, at least from what we're seeing, that there's almost, you know, as I said, there's no way out. And it all depends on just how deep this recession goes. And then, you know, everybody's talking about stagflation, which most people. I don't know. I lived through a period, I was pretty young, and I don't, you know, I can't say that I was super aware of economic details at the time, but I certainly remember living through it, which is that when you're living in a time of high inflation and high unemployment, they used to call that the misery index, which was a good way of putting it, which was, you know, how bad can it be? It's really, really unpleasant to go through that, that idea of having to deal with both of those things at the same time. People on fixed incomes are just screwed because the inflation is high. People, you know, there's no jobs. That may be what we're looking at. Also, that Trump can prove that he was right about tariffs, an idea he got back in 1980 watching Larry King one night, and he decided that he, you know, that he.
Sam Cedar
Don't discount that. He also got it from, what is it? Ron Varro or.
Tim Pool
Right, whatever.
Sam Cedar
Navarro's. Peter Navarro.
Tim Pool
Has he been sidelined? I mean, I keep hearing sort of this whispering that he's been sidelined. I saw him on TV yesterday. Is that true?
Sam Cedar
I don't know how much he's been sidelined, but it's almost like, like he's impregnated Donald Trump with the idea. So it really doesn't matter at that. At this point, it seems like, you know, Trump is. It's interesting to watch. Like, if he's going to do this 80% and then step down from there. Well, actually, so Scotty B. Said 80%, now he's saying 60%. Okay, I can do 60%. And then if he goes down, you know, maybe he gets it down to 20% or something like that, but we're still going to get. That's still going to be incredibly inflationary because again, we're not building anything in this country to compete with that. So it's just a matter of people are just going to pay that price. Then all we're going to see is the extent that there's any other US products that can compete with that, they're just going to be able to raise their price by 10%. And so it's, it's crazy.
Tim Pool
No reason, none of this, there is no reason for doing any of this. The economy was percolating along quite smartly coming out of COVID We did the best of any country in the world in trying to deal with that. I mean, Biden, for whatever anybody thinks of him, he did a pretty good job of bringing America out of that without what they said was a soft land, bringing a soft landing. And everybody else in the world was looking at the US Going, wow, that really, you know, that was smart. That really worked. And, you know, yes, it came at the price of inflation because they had to flood the country with money to keep us all above water. So he didn't go into a recession. And it worked. It worked. So, you know, inflation coming down, everything happening. He came in and has just taken a wrecking ball to that economy, which was, which was doing just fine. I mean, of course there are long term issues, including with tariffs and competition and, you know, manufacturing in the US all these are real issues that exist. But this is not the answer. It's completely the wrong answer. It's something, you know, it's making everything work.
Sam Cedar
It's, it's like asking the right question. It's so far afield from what, what's going on. Although I will say credit where credit's due. I just picked up a McLaren. My new McLaren is like, only going to be like $240,000.
Tim Pool
Wow. Wow, what a deal. Sam, that is so awesome, you know, that is so good. I love mine. I love mine. So you're going to love it.
Sam Cedar
I got a bright orange one and I'm pretty happy. There's nothing like that new car smell.
Tim Pool
It smells like money.
Sam Cedar
I mean, the flip side of this too. Let's just talk about, you know, what's happening in terms of, like, you know, we have this ongoing assault on our, our government. All these Doge people are embedded in there. It feels like as the economy gets worse, we're going to see Trump get even more sort of like aggressive on the immigration front with immigrants. And I want to play this footage. This is from Worcester, Mass. Yesterday. It's unclear to me how many of these people are ICE and they also brought us, I mean, us Worcester city cops to essentially, I guess, protect ICE from the crowds of people that were there. So, and this. This. This is in process. And so they're going to take this woman, a mother of what appears to be a. Maybe like a. A teen or another woman in their 20s. They're taking her mother away. And then we'll see this woman get the. The daughter get arrested. We'll see another person getting arrested who is running for school board in Worcester. And then a city councilor shows up and starts admonishing one of the cops. Worcester is not a sanctuary city. Boston is. I believe Somerville is. I think there's one. Or the Cambridge is. There's maybe three other major cities in Massachusetts that are sanctuary cities. The city does not hand over immigrants to ice. But in cooperating with this arrest by just keeping other people at bay, it seems to me that's, you know, part of the problem. And Worcester, we should also say, was under a consent decree. They recently had to become a. They became a sanctuary city for trans folks. But maybe it's time for immigrants as well, because the mayor is speaking out, the city manager. There's a lot of people pissed about this. This is just a nuts. We have a couple of different angles, but check this out. I mean, and you can see right there, there's a couple of cops tackling the daughter. I think at that point.
Tim Pool
They shove her face right into the street. It's horrific.
Sam Cedar
And look at. I mean, there is, at the very least. There is at the very least a dozen, maybe more, 20 police officers at least, including the ICE, maybe even more in this, like, I know this neighborhood in Worcester. It's just like a completely. I don't know, just about as typical of a neighborhood as you can get. And, you know, this is it. It's a. It's amazing the resources that are out there to arrest this one woman who's just a mom, right?
Tim Pool
This is not. This is not a. You know, not that they should be doing it to anybody, but it is not a trend. Aragua gang member or somebody. This is just some immigrant. I mean, just some migrant who's there. I don't know the full story of this person.
Sam Cedar
It's not clear yet what. What is the full story, but they. Here. And here is the new video. This closer up of the Ice Age and here, slamming this woman's face into the ground. And I believe this is one of the daughters of the mom who's arrested, and I think her sister and their baby were there Trying to stop the car to take the woman, the, the mother away, the baby's grandmother, I guess. But here, watch this. I mean, look at all those cops there. I think she's literally got a pacifier in her hand or like a little baby toy.
Tim Pool
I think she had been holding the baby.
Sam Cedar
Yeah.
Tim Pool
And handed it the baby off and ran down the street and that's when they tackled her.
Sam Cedar
Yeah, she.
Tim Pool
I don't know if she's the mom of the baby.
Sam Cedar
She is the. I think it's. I think it's her. I think it is. I, I don't know if it's her baby or her sister's baby. Right. But this is the type of stuff. I mean, this is really serious sick, sick, sick stuff. And I'm afraid all over the country.
Tim Pool
I mean, this is, you know, you're. We're starting to see these stories. They're coming up, interestingly, they're coming up from local media, which I think is really important because local media is showing this stuff. I mean, we had some here in LA where, I mean, they're going into elementary schools here. They did big raids on restaurants here and in D.C. the last couple of days where they're just coming in and raiding the places. And it's these guys with ice wearing the, you know, sort of balaclavas or having these gaiters on their face where they're not showing their whole face. What's that about? Why aren't they wearing uniforms? I mean, this is not, you know, this is like you just see some thugs running at you. I mean, it's horrible. Who would lucky nobody's been shot, to tell you the truth, because they're not identifying themselves.
Sam Cedar
Well, exactly. And it's interesting. I wonder. I don't know that there's been any sort of like national statistics or any type of like full on database, but I wonder how many of these are done in blue states versus red states because I would imagine, you know, red states there start dealing with their own voters more and people can start seeing this. This, I mean, this feels like intimidation tactics to me.
Tim Pool
It sure does. Of course it is. And it's basically scary. It is terrifying people. And by the way, it's not just the immigrant community that's being terrified. In that footage that we just watched, those were not all migran that were in the streets screaming at those cops and involving themselves. Those were neighbors. Those were just people who lived there going, what is going on in my neighborhood? It's like you said, the city councilman came in, they Were calling people, trying to get people to, you know, to gather there to stop this. This is state violence that's happening. I mean, look, I don't know about you, but I don't. Gee, I wonder why. I have watched and read a whole lot about the 1930s in Germany in recent months, and particularly lately. I know it's on my mind, but I gotta tell you, this is. This has a very strong echo of things that were happening. That kind of street, you know, thing that happened there, that is something that was happening in Germany. Everybody was, and I'm sure a lot of people like us were in Germany at the time, were going, whoa, what's going on here? Some people were upset, others were cheering them on. And. And this is. I have never seen anything like this in America. If you would have made that footage black and white, you could easily see that. That kind of frenzy of people running around and screaming and these thugs just thuggish, you know, Gestapo agents pushing people and shoving them to the ground and, you know, using violence against them. I've never seen anything quite like that in America in those kind of circumstances. I mean, we've certainly seen plenty of police violence, but nothing like this, where it's just some innocent person being abducted off the street, some woman and her teenage daughter being intimidated and kidnapped, essentially, and dragged off. And it's happening all over the place. And, you know, you mentioned the blue state, red state thing. It happened in Oklahoma. There was a story that came out of Oklahoma, I think it was a.
Sam Cedar
Week or so ago, a family that was. They weren't immigrants.
Tim Pool
No, but they were Latino. They were Hispanics, and they had moved there from Maryland. They were citizens. They had moved into that house. And apparently the ICE was after the previous residents of that house who didn't live there anymore, but they went in and terrorized that family. And it made the news in Oklahoma, too. There was a lot of local coverage of it. You know, this is, I think, part of what is spurring the. You know, we saw all the polls from the hundred days over the, you know, the last couple of weeks showing that Trump has lost approval on his immigration policy. And that is a big part of it, I think. I think people are seeing things in their towns, and then they're seeing it on the national news, too, and reading about the, you know, the stories of the guys being, you know, sent off to the Gulag and El Salvador and all that. And Americans are seeing this, you know, as for what it is, which is basically, you know, a fascist policy where they are Targeting and taking people. And it's not just Hispanics. It's not just, you know, undocumented workers from, you know, Latin countries. They're doing it to tourists, people who are coming, you know, who are being detained in airports. They're doing it to scientists who are coming over to attend a conference. And they won't let them in the country because they see something on their phone that they don't like. I mean, they have empowered the customs and Border Patrol and ice and then the local cops are helping all along the way, apparently, as you just pointed out, that they're just terrorizing any non citizen in the United States. I mean, if I were a non citizen, if I were a foreigner, I would not come to the United States right now. It's much too dangerous.
Sam Cedar
There's been a huge, huge drop off in tourism from Canada, from Europe. And I don't know that I've had a single conversation with anybody flying out of the country who hasn't like, brought up the idea that maybe I should have a burner phone.
Tim Pool
Yeah. Oh, for sure.
Sam Cedar
And, and to avoid this. And I will also say there's a third sort of like pillar to this, which is the use of anti Semitism as a way of basically disappearing, ostensibly disappearing people under the guise that it is a. It is hindering our foreign policy or something, to that fact that it becomes a national security, all three of those of these elements. It seems to me, in the event that what we were talking about in the first half of this conversation, that Trump's tariffs or Trump's tariff policy, whatever it is, is likely to create a recession in this country and maybe something even like more severe than a recession. And you can see like you, that that clip of J.D. vance gives us a sort of a blueprint, right?
Tim Pool
Yeah.
Sam Cedar
Like you want to talk about dolls? Well, I want to talk about what happens if we're attacked and what weapons are we going to have. I mean, that's where, that's where you know, leaders like this go is to, you know, how do we create a sense of we're being invaded or how do we make this about how do we shift this? And this assault on immigrants is what we're gonna get because that's what they're gonna go to.
Tim Pool
Absolutely. Boy, you're so right about that. I hadn't thought about it. But what Vance was actually sort of, you know, vaguely kind of implying there he was relating it to the idea that Trump has used this excuse of invasion, you know, by invoking the Alien Enemies act, which now, two judges have said no is complete nonsense. But that's the underpinning of these immigration policies is that we're being attacked, we're being invaded by gang members from a. You know, from a foreign country, Venezuela. And then somehow or another, Venezuela's directing this or whatever, and they're using that excuse to enable them to use the Alien Enemies act, which lets them deport people without due process. Now, all that's going through the courts, and we know in many, you know, it's been stopped in various places, and they're having to fight it out in different districts, and it'll eventually get to the Supreme Court. But nonetheless, that idea of America being under attack, of being invaded, of being, you know, as Trump has ripped off for, you know, for centuries, we've been ripped off. That's what this is really about. Underneath it all, this is Trump basically declaring war on the world, and he's basically saying, everybody's taking advantage of us. They're trying to invade us, they're trying to destroy us, and we have to defend ourselves. And so in order to defend ourselves, I'm going to have to do all this stuff. The Constitution's a nice idea, but we're at war, and we're going to have to do this. I mean, he's not saying that explicitly in every way, but that's really what is doing that. And Vance, being the. Ooh, you know, the cunning little fascist that he is, kind of has a way of maybe insinuating that idea into all this stuff, maybe by talking about war, maybe, and, you know, having good American weapons. Maybe that really is part of that, is him sort of understanding that they've got to create this sense of siege. And, you know, they did it when Bukele, the president of El Salvador, was in Washington and they had them meeting. What Bukele said was very interesting to me because he said El Salvador, when he took over, really was, you know, under siege from gang violence. They really were. They were calling it the murder capital of the world. I mean, it was out. It was really a problem. There was. That's one reason why there were so many Salvadorans that came to the United States was to escape the gang violence that was there. So Bukele gets elected, and the first thing he does, he brings the hammer down and, you know, he. He builds this prison, and they start really just dragging people off the streets and throwing them in and throwing away the key. A lot of this is very interesting because there's some evidence that he actually made a deal with the Gang.
Sam Cedar
Yes, I am. I'm quite convinced of that, frankly.
Tim Pool
Me too. Me too. But, you know, but in any event, there. There was an actual crisis that was happening in the. In El Salvador. But Bukele says to Trump, well, you've got a crisis here. Like, I had basically said that and said you have to liberate 350 million people from it, and the only way you can do that is to imprison people. And Trump is sitting there nodding his head yes. Oh, great. Yes, for sure. You know, you got to do that. So, you know, this is the idea that's kind of percolating in MAGA circles is this idea that the. They're trying to create this idea that we are under siege from foreign invasion and incursion. The problem is we all feel this. We're under siege, but not from foreigners. It's from him and his people and his policies. And so he's taking advantage of that by creating this. By sort of creating a sense of crisis and then blaming it on foreigners, I guess. I mean, and it's very disturbing because I just don't know how to. If I don't know how you fight it. I mean, I guess we have to hope that the Supreme Court comes up with something. You know, I mean, I'm. At this point, I'm. I just don't even know what to think.
Sam Cedar
I, you know, more people in the street. There was a great story coming out of D.C. i guess it was maybe a couple of days ago. I can't remember, it was last week, where there was rumors that they were coming into restaurants. Maybe it was last Friday.
Tim Pool
Yeah, yeah, they were doing it.
Sam Cedar
And the restaurant workers basically just all. Basically blocked the door and said, unless you got a warrant. Warrant, get the F out. And I think there needs to be, you know, more of this. And there are apps out there now where you can put. You can post where ICE is. And so it's super important, you know.
Tim Pool
Like, it's happened here in LA at the, like, the schools. They've been coming into elementary schools trying. ICE has been trying to infiltrate elementary schools. We're here to do a wellness check. They say, you know. Right. Well, the school, the school system's not having it, and they won't let them in. They're saying, no, these are children. You're not allowed to come in. It's really important that anybody, you know, who has any connection or any ability to kind of put up some form of resistance to this. Those of us who are not immigrants, you know that we do what we can, because that's going to make it. That does make a difference, I think. I think that even, you know, if you get the people see this, it's just. It's un American. I mean, un American in the sense that it's inhuman. It's just a nightmare. That's all it is. And it's wrong. And I don't think that most. I have to believe that most people in this country don't look at the scene that we just looked at of them chasing down that teenage girl and throwing her to the ground. Some big, you know, big white ice guys throwing some teenage girl to the ground like that. That. That's something that most Americans feel good about. I mean, there are a lot of them. I know the MAGA people love it. You know, they cheered Trump at his rally, played footage of them shaving the heads of those guys down there.
Sam Cedar
We played that. It was gross. I mean, it just thing I've seen.
Tim Pool
I mean, so, you know, we know that exists too. And, you know, can't forget that. There are plenty of people who think that way, but good Lord, I don't think most of us do. I really don't.
Sam Cedar
Heather Parton. Digby. We will obviously link to the Uber blog Hullabaloo.
Tim Pool
Thank you.
Sam Cedar
And to your pieces on salon.com and it's always, I want to say a pleasure, but we have. I feel like we have this dilemma every time.
Tim Pool
I know someday it'll be Jesus.
Sam Cedar
I'm happy for the opportunity to have. I'm always happy to have the opportunity to talk to you.
Tim Pool
Oh, yeah, me too. It's cathartic, if nothing else.
Sam Cedar
I mean, increasingly, it just seems to be on a slow trajectory, just the more disturbing. Heather, thanks so much. We'll talk to you soon.
Tim Pool
Have a great weekend.
Sam Cedar
All right, folks, call in here into the phone. We are anticipating a phone call. Is this set up? Is this thing been unplugged? Check one, two. Okay, I'm gonna have to recall in. Bear with me, folks, one second. All right, all right. I believe I'm. Hopefully he's been able to figure out how to work the phone. It's been a while since our next guest joined us. Praise Lord David Feldman hosts the David Feldman show, which is available wherever you get your middling podcasts. David Feldman, are you there?
Joe Biden
Hello?
Sam Cedar
Are you there? Can you hear me?
Joe Biden
Can you hear me?
Sam Cedar
Yes, David, can you hear me?
Joe Biden
I can hear you. Can you hear me?
Sam Cedar
Yes, I can.
Joe Biden
Not even hello? Not. Not even hello, David?
Sam Cedar
Well, I was. I said, literally said, david, can David? Hello? David, can you hear me?
Joe Biden
I don't know, I'm sensing. I'm. Should I be sensing? Because I'm sensing.
Sam Cedar
Well, you may be sensing. It's just, you know, I gotta be honest with the last time you're on, it was the day after Trump got shot. Shot. And you turned your segment into a 20 minute infomercial for your brother's. Your brother in law's sandwich shop in Atlantic City.
Joe Biden
Cifarettos.
Sam Cedar
Yeah. Okay.
Joe Biden
Cifarettos, 1504 Ventnor Avenue. That's it for. Yeah, okay. Home of the 16 inch Dr. Melfi Gabagool. Just a hop, skip and a jump from Valleys, right off the right of the boardwalk.
Sam Cedar
So, David, what are we talking about today? It's been a while since you've been on the program. We're gonna. You're gonna give us your sense of the. The new Pope, or did your brother in law open up a Cifferettos on Staten island that we need to know about?
Joe Biden
Nope, still at 1504 Ventnor Avenue, right off the boardwalk in Atlantic City. The new Pope. Sam. Yeah. I want to talk about the moral urgency Americans face, especially when it comes to immigration.
Sam Cedar
Oh, okay. Well, just like the Pope before, this one's very critical of Trump's border policy, apparently. And yesterday we learned ICE deported two more American citizens, this time to Mexico. These were children we just talked about. Mother taking off the street. And Worcester, Mass.
Joe Biden
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I feel a lot. It's your tone. I can't help but think. This isn't about them. You're angry at me. It's not about the migrants.
Sam Cedar
No, but it's not about you, literally. We're just talking about what happened in Worcester, Mass. Which I think you may or may not know is my hometown.
Joe Biden
Angry.
Sam Cedar
They.
Joe Biden
You're angry.
Sam Cedar
Yeah, I'm angry.
Joe Biden
Yeah. Don't take it out.
Joanna
I just.
Joe Biden
Don't take it out on me, Sam. Okay?
Sam Cedar
I'm not taking out on you.
Joe Biden
You seem really angry.
Sam Cedar
No. Trump says that ICE is rounding up the worst of the worst, right? Violent criminals, drug dealers, gang members. But all we're seeing is either like American citizens, citizens or children or babies or moms, people going in for a routine check in with the immigration, getting deported, and this just so that Trump can claim that he's removed more immigrants than Biden or Obama. It's sick, it's twisted, it's sadistic. And the only reason why he's doing is to satisfy the bloodlust of his supporters.
Joe Biden
Okay, all right. You're definitely angry with me. I don't know what I did, and this is not what I came up with on to talk about, so I don't know.
Sam Cedar
David, I'm not angry with you. You told Russ you were going to come on and talk about immigrants. All right, so I'm looking at the notes and you it supposedly, according to us, you were upset about ice.
Joe Biden
No, I'm upset by the way people like you in the media dishonor our troops. That's what I'm upset about.
Sam Cedar
What are you talking about? What troops?
Joe Biden
Am I just what, the people from ice. The ICE soldiers.
Sam Cedar
Wait, what? Not dishonoring them, they're trampling all over the constitution. What are you talking about?
Joe Biden
I don't. I don't know about that, Sam. We're a nation at war.
Sam Cedar
No, we're not. We have a president at war with the constitution of anything, but that's it.
Joe Biden
Well, we're a nation at war, Sam. And all I want is, and this is why I came on to make sure the brave men and women from ICE out there on the front lines fighting the war against Venezuela. I just want to make sure they're given the thanks and gratitude they deserve. Whether Sam Cedar approves of our war with Venezuela or not. Okay? That's all I'm saying, David.
Sam Cedar
There's no war with Venezuela. I mean, it's self evident. Not to mention, not only are they not invading us and there's no war. Tulsi Gabbard's DNI just came out with an assessment that's. It says none of that is even.
Joe Biden
Remotely true, that nobody wanted this war. Okay, but we've been attacked, ok?
Sam Cedar
No, we haven't. There is no war with Venezuela. It does not exist.
Joe Biden
There's a. If a state of war with Venezuela doesn't exist. And why did I change the name of Pablo Crio to Freedom Fries? Answer me that, Neville Chamberlain. Why am I now calling Venezuela's national dash Freedom Prize? Do you even follow what's going on in the world outside your little bubble?
Sam Cedar
No, you know what? I don't know what Papa decree. I don't know what that is. And I can tell you, as a matter of fact, I can assure you we're not at war with Venezuela, David.
Joe Biden
Okay, so you know more than the President of the United States. You know, you're. You're the expert.
Sam Cedar
I mean, we're at war.
Joe Biden
The President says we're at war. That's why he invoked the Alien Enemies Act. So Our brave ICE soldiers can round up terrorists and enemy combatants who are waging war against our homeland.
Sam Cedar
No, I get it.
Joe Biden
Why do you hate our homeland?
Sam Cedar
I don't hate our homeland, David.
Joe Biden
Don't you want to protect our homeland? Blood and soil, Sam. Or are you the enemy within? I think you're the enemy within.
Sam Cedar
No, listen, David, we are not at war. Venezuela isn't invading our homeland.
Joe Biden
Look, we got off to a bad start. Whether you're for our war with Venezuela, that's a whole other matter. And I may not agree with the war with Venezuela. Venezuela. All I'm saying is we support the men and women of ice. Let's not blame ice. That's all I'm saying.
Sam Cedar
But, David, there is no war, okay? The courts agree with me on this. The. The DNI agrees with me. There's no war. No one thinks there's a war.
Joe Biden
The courts. The courts. We're in Article 3 of the Constitution. You ever heard of the Constitution?
Sam Cedar
I have.
Joe Biden
We're in Article 3 of the Constitution. Does it say the courts declare war? Pretty sure Congress declares war.
Sam Cedar
That's also a very good point, David, because Congress has also not declared war.
Joe Biden
Why hasn't Congress declared war, Sam? Congress hasn't declared because we're at war. There's no time for constitutional niceties when a ticking bomb, ticking time bomb, has to be dismantled by Donald Trump. You're a child.
Sam Cedar
There's no ticking time bomb, David.
Joe Biden
There's a ticking time bomb. There's a ticking time bomb.
Sam Cedar
There's no ticking time bomb. There is not.
Joe Biden
No ticking time bomb.
Sam Cedar
We're not under attack. No.
Joe Biden
Huh?
Sam Cedar
No.
Joe Biden
Okay, then tell that to the family of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia. Pretty disrespectful, Sam. To his wife and children.
Sam Cedar
What are you talking about?
Joe Biden
Why don't you look Kilmer Abrego Garcia's family in the eyes and tell them America is not at war with Venezuela.
Sam Cedar
How dare you?
Joe Biden
Dare you? How dare you?
Sam Cedar
What are you talking about, David? You're talking about the immigrant with protected legal status mistakenly shipped to that El Salvador and dungeon. The one place, literally, a judge said.
Joe Biden
You can't send his family, that we're not at war.
Sam Cedar
I would gladly tell them we're not in a state of war with Venezuela. I would do that right now. I don't know why they would care.
Joe Biden
You're a sadist. You're a sadist, dude.
Sam Cedar
The sadism was deporting him to an El Salvadoran dungeon.
Joe Biden
Yeah, and what makes it even that more sadistic? Is for his wife and children to hear you denying that America is in a state of war with Venezuela.
Sam Cedar
We're not in a state of war with Venezuela. We're not.
Joe Biden
And you're. You're willing to tell his wife and children that their father, her husband, was taken from them for absolutely no reason?
Sam Cedar
Yes, exactly.
Joe Biden
You're willing to say that it's all been in vain and it should never have happened?
Sam Cedar
That is exactly what I'm saying. Yes, I am.
Joe Biden
Wow. You know the sadism. I knew you were cynical, Sam. I'm stunned. And how sadistic you are, David.
Sam Cedar
I am not sadistic. What is wrong with you?
Joe Biden
You are a. Don't take this the wrong way. Okay. You're a brain dead child.
Sam Cedar
Oh, okay.
Joe Biden
Don't take that the wrong way.
Sam Cedar
No, I won't take that the wrong way. No, I got it.
Joe Biden
You don't understand. You know, but listen to me. Sometimes, right or wrong, America gets itself into a war not of our own choosing. And we commit soldiers to fight that war. And more often than not, we eventually learn that the war might have been a mistake and in fact, was a war of our own choosing. But by then, it's too late. And here's what you don't understand, Sam, because you're a child. By stopping the war after realizing it was a mistake, admitting, yes, it's a lie, that it was actually a war of our own choosing. If we do that. We do that, then we're dishonoring the brave soldiers who already paid the ultimate price. So the adults in the room, Sam, the responsible patriots like David Feldman. No, we must keep fighting that war because to admit it's all a mistake, to say it's based on a lie is a disservice to those brave men and women on the front lines. So, yes, America often, if not always, goes to war based on a lie. Lie. But to end that war dishonors our troops and their families. So let's just finish the job. Sam.
Sam Cedar
Did it.
Joe Biden
Just finish it.
Sam Cedar
I can't tell you.
Joe Biden
Finish the job.
Sam Cedar
How demented and horrible that is.
Joe Biden
The war is demented and horrible, Sam. Maybe you think our war against Venezuela is based on a lie. There's a sacred lie. And I don't want to look at Brago Garcia's wife and children in the eyes and say your father is languishing inside a prisoner war camp for nothing. I'm sorry. I won't do that to his wife and his kids, David. Maybe you will.
Sam Cedar
He is not in a prisoner of war camp. He is Not a prisoner of war.
Joe Biden
Yes, he's our. He's Our Generation's John McCain. And you just want to forget he's there.
Sam Cedar
No, I explicitly want to bring him home. Home. In fact, I want to bring all of them home.
Joe Biden
We all do, Sam. And hopefully, one day, Venezuela will surrender.
Sam Cedar
Now, you do realize that El Salvador and Venezuela are not the same countries, right? Like he's in El Salvador. It has nothing to do with Venezuela.
Joe Biden
Here we go. So this isn't about. This isn't about foreign policy. This is all about Sam Cedar proving he's the smartest guy on the. This is precisely why Democrats lose elections. You make people feel stupid, Sam. You don't care about Garcia.
Sam Cedar
Do you know that there is a difference between El Salvador and Venezuela? They are two separate countries. You know that, correct? David?
Joe Biden
Yeah. This is how you argue.
Sam Cedar
You.
Joe Biden
You look for some obscure piece of historical trivia that your opponent might not be aware of, and then you use it as a cudgel to prove you're smarter than I am. You know what, Sam? I'll concede your point if you say El Salvador and Venezuela are two separate countries. Fine. I don't know why you're throwing geography in my face. It's completely irrelevant. What if your argument is based. If your argument is based entirely on facts and we're not going to solve anything? I know what I know, and that should be enough for you.
Sam Cedar
You're aware. Now, hold on. You are aware that Garcia is not Venezuelan, right? You know that he's El Salvador.
Joe Biden
Oh, go ahead, Sam. Cedar went to college, so he gets to decide where everyone is from all by himself.
Sam Cedar
You know what?
Joe Biden
I've always wanted to be French. Can you make me French, Sam?
Sam Cedar
No, David.
Joe Biden
French.
Sam Cedar
David. David. Let's just say, okay, he's from El Salvador. Trump invoked the Alien Enemies act to fight Trend Agua, which is a Venezuelan gang. Abrego Garcia is from El Salvador. There's no relationship here between any of those things.
Joe Biden
Okay? And he has MS.13 Photoshopped onto his knuckles. MS.13 is a gang, a very dangerous gang saying. And he had MS.13 Photoshopped onto his knuckles. Can you at least admit that? Can you?
Sam Cedar
David, did you hear what you said to me? You said he had them photoshopped. Photoshopped? Trump's claiming he's Ms. 13 based upon what? The guy has photoshopped on his knuckles. Not on his knuckles. Photoshop.
Joe Biden
You admit. So you admit he's ms.13?
Sam Cedar
No. Didn't you hear me? I just said someone photoshopped MS.13 on his knuckles.
Joe Biden
Look, I don't know what the toughs are doing these days. Photoshop, tattooed. It's the same difference.
Sam Cedar
No, actually, David, it's not the same difference. One is actually on someone's flesh. Another one has been put there by somebody else who is in no way related to the guy. Just the photo.
Joe Biden
He's afraid of needles. I don't know how it works. Instead of a tattoo, he said, just Photoshop the Ms. Thirteen gang symbols.
Sam Cedar
David.
Joe Biden
Knuckles.
Sam Cedar
Photoshopped. Photoshopped. It's on the photo. Mississippi 13 was photoshopped. He didn't do it.
Joe Biden
Of course he didn't do it, you moron. Are you stupid? Don't be. Have you ever tried to Photoshop your own knuckles? You're an idiot.
Sam Cedar
Oh, my God.
Joe Biden
Can't Photoshop your own knuckles. I can do my right hand when I have to switch hands. It's a total mess. You're a moron.
Sam Cedar
David, do you know what photo. David, do you know what. Do you know what Photoshop means? I mean, it's fake.
Joe Biden
I know it's fake. People aren't born with MS.13 on their knuckles. You need to Photoshop them on. It's like my mom's breast implants. After a while, you forget they're not real. I know you did, Sam.
Sam Cedar
You did.
Joe Biden
Was really creepy. Really creepy.
Sam Cedar
Dude, he's not Ms. 13. That's my point. He's not a gang member. He doesn't belong in that dungeon. Nobody does. Frankly. ICE made a horrible mistake. They admitted it.
Joe Biden
ICE made. There you go again, blaming the soldiers. Stop demonizing ICE Stop it. It's traumatizing. And not just for them, but for their children.
Sam Cedar
Okay, you know what?
Joe Biden
Whatever you think about Trump's war on Venezuela, leave the kids out of it. Okay?
Sam Cedar
There's no. I'm not talking about kids. What about the kids who are U.S. citizens who are getting deported? There's literally a baby.
Joe Biden
They should leave the children of ICE soldiers out of it as well. That baby should. Should leave the children of ICE soldiers out of this. A lot of the children of ICE soldiers are ashamed to tell their friends what their fathers and mothers do. Sam, that's tragic. To be ashamed of your father or mother. Feel shame for who you are and where you come from. That's a trauma a child never recovers from. Trumps.
Sam Cedar
You know what else is pretty traumatic? Being rounded up in the dead of night and getting shipped off to a country you've never been to before.
Joe Biden
David, I didn't know that was happening. Is that what they're doing to the children of ICE soldiers.
Sam Cedar
No, that is not what they're doing to the children of ice. It's what ICE agents are doing to the children of migrants. ICE agents are detaining and deporting children. And some of those are U.S. citizens.
Joe Biden
Let's leave the children out of this, okay? They didn't ask their parents to work for ice, so leave the children out of. Why do you hate children?
Sam Cedar
I, for the most part, love children, David. That's why I find it upsetting that ICE agents are supposed to be going after supposed gang members and are instead deporting it. Two year old children. I mean, doesn't that upset you?
Joe Biden
No, what upsets me is how you traffic and guilt by association.
Sam Cedar
What?
Joe Biden
How you want to blame the children of ice. You want to blame the. Them, I'm sure the children.
Sam Cedar
I'm not talking about the children. I'm not talking about the children whose parents work for ice.
Joe Biden
Well, you should be talking about them. You make the children of ICE soldiers ashamed of what their parents do for a living. These kids are living in the shadows, afraid of being found out.
Sam Cedar
Yeah, it's not the issue. I don't believe that's the case. I'm sorry, that's not. That's not. That's not happening.
Joe Biden
Are you even aware of what's going on? Do you know that because of people like Sam Cedar, ICE soldiers are now wearing masks? They stop flashing their IDs before making an arrest. That's how ashamed people like Sam Cedar have made the ICE soldiers because of people like you. They're terrified of being ridiculed just for doing their job. So they disguise their faces. They won't even say, I'm with ice. You're under arrest. Did you know that, Sam?
Sam Cedar
Yeah, I did, actually, David, we were just talking about it. And that's a serious problem. People are grabbed off the street and they have no idea who's grabbing them.
Joe Biden
And that's because of people like you, Sam. Who make ICE soldiers feel too embarrassed to show their faces or even say, I'm with ice. I mean, look what you've done to our country. ICE soldiers too intimidated to speak their truth, to say, yes, yes, I am a soldier for ice. This is who I am. For better or worse, accept me as I am an ICE soldier. David, you're under arrest.
Sam Cedar
That is not why they're hiding their identities. It's not because I'm suppressing their truth. No, that is not the case.
Joe Biden
Brave soldiers hiding their faces in shame. They don't even wear their uniforms now.
Sam Cedar
Yes, that's my point. That is not why they're hiding their identities.
Joe Biden
Unmarked van. Sam, they don't even. They're not even driving in their ICE vans. Unmarked. Nobody should live this way.
Sam Cedar
David, I am telling you, that is not why they're hiding their identities. It's not that they're embarrassed about what they're doing, okay?
Joe Biden
That's not why they're hiding their identity.
Sam Cedar
No, it is not.
Joe Biden
It is because you're the expert. You're the expert. I'm disassociative identity disorder. But no, I didn't major in psychology the way you did. My mother isn't a well respected psychiatry professor at Columbia like yours, so I.
Sam Cedar
Guess my mother is not. My mother's not either alive or at Columbia or a psychiatrist.
Joe Biden
I guess I'm not qualified to diagnose someone's struggle with their own identity because I didn't grow up on the Upper west side of Manhattan like you did with Leonard Bernstein and the Black Panther. Sleeping on my couch.
Sam Cedar
Okay, all right. That's not how I grew up. I grew up in Worcester and nobody. We had a couch, but nobody slept on it.
Joe Biden
All right, Sam, I don't want to fight. You know that. I don't want to argue.
Sam Cedar
That doesn't feel like that, okay?
Joe Biden
The fact is, these ICE soldiers and their children. You're traumatized. Right or wrong? Lie, Half truth. Let's see this war against Venezuela through until the end. For the children, Sam. Okay? For the children. Otherwise, the sacrifices we have all made will have been for naught.
Sam Cedar
But first of all, what sacrifices are we all making? And second of all, it is for naught. There's. It's nothing. It's not. It's not.
Joe Biden
It's all for naught.
Sam Cedar
All of it.
Joe Biden
No, Sam, you're depressed. That's all. You sound like a high school. Sound like a high school sophomore at Miss Porter's reading Camus for the first time. It's not all for naught.
Sam Cedar
It's all for naught. David. It's not for naught the invocation of the alien. Yeah, it is the invocation of the Alien Enemies Act. Declaring a national emergency, saying we're being invaded by Venezuela. Rounding up children, rounding up mothers. It's all for. Not.
Joe Biden
It's not for naught. You know not what you're talking about. And why do you hate our troops?
Sam Cedar
ICE agents are not troops, David.
Joe Biden
See, you hate our troops. That's erasure, okay? By saying ICE soldiers aren't real soldiers. That's Erasure. Why do you hate our troops?
Sam Cedar
ICE agents are part of law enforcement. They are part of the Department of Homeland Security. They're not part of the Defense Department. They're not part of the Pentagon. They're not soldiers.
Joe Biden
Why? Why do you hate the brave men and women from ice, Sam?
Sam Cedar
You know what? I don't think they're that brave. And I don't care. I don't hate them. I just want them to stop and go away.
Joe Biden
Yeah, and you don't care about their children either, or their wives or husbands. Look, Sam, I don't want to fight. That's not why I came on here to argue with you. I wanted to have a conversation. Yeah, and I don't want to happen to the children of ICE soldiers or to the ICE soldiers. What happened to my father after he came home from Vietnam. That's all we can disagree with Trump's policy.
Sam Cedar
Wait a second.
Joe Biden
Our war with Vietnam, with Venezuela. Let's not have happen to the ICE soldiers and their families. What happened to my father?
Sam Cedar
You see, David, with all due respect, honestly, you seem a little bit old to have a father who came home, who went to Vietnam. Your dad. Your dad went to Vietnam. I find that very hard to believe.
Joe Biden
Why?
Sam Cedar
Well, just your age, David, with all due respect.
Joe Biden
Well, that's what we said, that my dad was too old. My mom said, chance. That was my father's name. Chance. We said, chance, you're too old to drive us to our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Just stick with the group. But no, dad wanted to rent a car and drove it straight into that orphanage. And then when he comes home from Vietnam, they call him a baby killer and spit on him, all because of those babies he ended up killing. I don't want that to happen to our ICE soldiers and their families, Sam.
Sam Cedar
Okay, David, so you're saying your father did not fight in the Vietnam War. Your father went on vacation to Vietnam, and when he got home, he was spat upon and called a baby killer because he drove a car into an orphanage.
Joe Biden
And they called him a baby killer for that. And because he was an abortionist. But they called him a baby killer because he was an abortionist. That was pre Roe, by the way. Back in the good old days, when you didn't need a medical degree to.
Sam Cedar
Perform an abortion, your father performed abortions without a medical degree.
Joe Biden
You think that's wrong? I can tell that your judgment, you're judging him. I'm sorry, Sam. I grew up in a household that believed a woman has a right to choose all right. David, what happened to you?
Sam Cedar
You know, why do you.
Joe Biden
Why do you want to control a woman's body?
Sam Cedar
Okay. Goodbye, David. It was great to talk to you. So long. You had written here that he was going to talk about ice.
Heather Parton
He did.
Sam Cedar
I guess the soldiers.
David Feldman
Yep.
Sam Cedar
Oh, can't wait to talk to David again in another 10 or 15 months. That was odd. I've lost my sound sheet. Yeah, I guess we'll freebie. Oh, I got it. Freebie. Freebie Friday.
Heather Parton
I must confess, we did a freebie Friday. Last Friday.
Sam Cedar
If it really.
Heather Parton
If it matters. Well, when the cat's away, the. The mice play.
Sam Cedar
Well, one more conservative mind virus. Sam, you decrepit a Gen X irony golem. I'm starting to believe it would literally give you an aneurysm to sincerely express love to a friend. Speaking of cowards words, when do you bravely release the clip compilation of Bradley that explains why you fired him and is not welcome back live? Luigi. Sam, you are entirely unreasonable in this debate. Not your best showing, Jimmy Dore. Sam completely lost this debate against David. Couldn't even make one point without his anti American fact based arguments. Don't Forget to buy 1775 Freedom Coffee Coffee where 1% of the profits go towards the children of Ice Soldiers. International Socialist Sam. David threatened to get into his bath with a huge birthday cake if his video stream didn't work. Can you ask David to broadcast this event when it next happens? Boosh. Wow, Sam, so much for the tolerant left. All right, let's take a look at.
Emma Vigeland
Some breaking news here. This is CNN's Natasha Bertrand. A federal judge in Vermont has ordered the immediate release of Rumesa Oz Turk, the tough university student from Turkey on Friday. She was detained by federal immigration offices near her Massachusetts home on March 25th.
Sam Cedar
Oh, that's fantastic. Pop this up. And is this the same Vermont? What now? What is this? Because there is an ICE detention facility up in Vermont. There must be. Right? Because it's the same one that Madawi. What? Peter Welch visited. It must be up in Vermont, I would imagine. Oh, that's good news. All right, let's. Oh my God, is this new?
Emma Vigeland
Yeah, this is from four days ago.
Sam Cedar
Oh my God.
Emma Vigeland
Only 700,000 views on it.
Sam Cedar
You. You'll recall when I was last on Tim Pool's program, one of the things we talked about is I complained to him that like, he spends so little time talking about stuff that are meaningful, like Social Security. Although he did opine on it after reading two paragraphs of an article.
Tim Pool
That.
Sam Cedar
Was his Words, not mine. And I said, you spend so much time on, like, the notion of civil war in this country. You've been. He's been saying there's a civil war for, I would say close to 10 years, or that one's going to happen. And I still don't think that there's going to be a civil war in this country. Country. But I guess if it gets him on to trigger nometry.
Emma Vigeland
I mean, we have mass shootings, some of which are, like, politically motivated. We have.
Sam Cedar
We have militias.
Emma Vigeland
Yeah, right.
Sam Cedar
Without a doubt. But that's not a civil war per se. But here's Tim Pool. Remember, you got to feel for Tim because his favorite band turned out to.
Emma Vigeland
Be led by trans person.
Sam Cedar
Be led by a trans person. That was very hard for him to deal with. And he thought a couple years ago, I'm going to be making all this money from Russia. He didn't know it was from Russia at the time, from Gerard Depard or somebody like that. And. And then all that money went away. And so he's got to get back to the Civil War thing. Curious. Also, you know what else I notice he's wearing the exact same sweatshirt, too. Every day. Now, was he wearing that same one the other day that we were looking at the clip of him?
Emma Vigeland
Sometimes he has a blazer over the.
David Feldman
Hoodie, but yeah, like Abraham Lincoln was the bad guy. Or do we say talking about how.
Emma Vigeland
Abe Lincoln suspended habeas corpus in the course of the Civil War.
Sam Cedar
Oh, so in other words, there was an actual war going on in the country and Lincoln suspended habeas corpus. Okay.
David Feldman
In times of war, a wartime president makes difficult decisions which are outside what our principles purport to be.
Alyssa
But we're not in the time of war.
Sam Cedar
And it's also as well, Tim.
Joe Biden
No, we're not.
Sam Cedar
So when. Tim, can I just make a point? And this is. Right. Okay, we'll come to that in a second. When you take. When the government takes away rights, it.
Joe Biden
Is very difficult, if not almost impossible.
David Feldman
For you to get them back. Can we just agree that.
Sam Cedar
Yes. So you are willing to give up rights in this society for the government to then come in and then enact against the enemies?
David Feldman
When have humans ever not done.
Sam Cedar
Done that?
David Feldman
Give me one example. One.
Sam Cedar
In. In civilized society.
Joe Biden
Not true.
Sam Cedar
In World War II United States, for one second.
Tim Pool
This is.
Sam Cedar
He wants an example of when people have never taken away.
Emma Vigeland
It's funny because he's listing exceptions.
Sam Cedar
Right. Well, that's the thing. It's like a double negative. Right. When have humans not taken away habeas corpus.
Emma Vigeland
It's like well I can mention the time that it was in world in civil war. And also. Okay, I'll do another example which was World War II, which is again like also we shouldn't have done a lot of things that we did do during World War II.
Sam Cedar
Well yeah, I think we can look back in all of our history and say there were things that we shouldn't do like slavery, like extermination and genocide of Native Americans, like internment, like current immigration stuff, Jim Crow laws, etc. Etc. Like I'm not even necessarily convinced that once you take, once you suspend rights they never come back. I think, I mean be much harder to put people into concentration camps, at least I like to think so that are American citizens today may not copy but I would like to think it would be a little bit more difficult. It's going to be even tricky for them to put undocumented immigrants in mass concentration camps in this country. I think they're going to do it. I think they're going to be able to. But there's going to be I think probably a little bit more pushback. Now maybe if we were at war with El Salvador or something, I don't know. I'm trying to come up with a scenario but we're not at war right now by any stretch of the imagination or any definition. Let's put it this way, if we're at war right now, there is no time where we've never been at war. Good.
David Feldman
Give me one example. One.
Sam Cedar
In in civilized society, not in.
David Feldman
World War II, the United States implemented the US Office of Censorship Leadership and banned people from exploring.
Alyssa
It's interesting that you say this because all anti Ukraine people in America keep calling Zelensky a dictator for having martial law which is in line with the Ukrainian constitution and not having an election like the Ukraine.
David Feldman
Well, he declared it and the Constitution says that he can declare it and congressman uphold it. There's an argument that it can be he can overturn it.
Alyssa
Well, but my point is.
David Feldman
But I, but I agree in a time of war, residents do crazy things. But.
Alyssa
But you are stretching the definition of war war way beyond its remit.
David Feldman
No, I'm not. It's called fifth and sixth generational warfare. So we have technological advances in conflict and they alter how we perceive what war is. If you go back to the earliest days, what is the purpose of a conflict? Why do wars happen? Sometimes they're silly. You don't believe in the same God as me, so you Must be destroyed. I mean, these are largely silly, but they have to do with cultural cohesion. So they come from somewhere from an evolutionary psychological perspective. But typically it's resource conflict. Resource is the principal driver. I do think it's absolutely hilarious that the East India Trading Company engaged in warfare that resulted in the death of 50,000 people because black peppercorn was a delicacy. It was a luxury in, in, in Europe, in the uk. But typically it's, I don't have enough food or water and I will take it and my people will not die. I, I don't care how I have to get it. And it's the same thing you see at the root level with a man who steals bread.
Sam Cedar
We're pausing for one second. A second. I just want you to know, like, I think this, what he was arguing is that we're at war right now. Instead, he clearly like has boned up for this and studied about like, what is war about? And I'm going to. I don't know what he, he read or listened to and memorized for this interview. And he. But he's so excited to be able to project fact that he is smart enough to know that war is about resources. Unless it's not. And it's just about, you know, my God's better than your God and peppercorn. And one of the anecdotes that amused me about the peppercorns. But the question is, well, how is it that we're at war? And he's basically come up with a new definition of war, a more modern definition, which is war that is so subtle. Subtle that we don't know about it. Now they, you people used to call this like economic war or just trade.
Emma Vigeland
Also, lawfare is another sort of type.
Sam Cedar
Of without a doubt diplomacy. Diplomacy is really just sixth generation war.
Emma Vigeland
When you think about it. We actually have been doing World War III for the last.
Sam Cedar
Don't make me quote classical of it. But even though I do actually happen to have the quote right here. All right, let's continue.
David Feldman
Family is hungry or whatever, we still frown upon it. So the generations of warfare, they evolve. We see the advents of new technologies and new methodologies in warfare all the time. If the purpose of warfare is to secure control of a population so you can control its resources, a tendency for that reason sometimes it's, you know, my God is better than your God and your people must adhere to my worldview and my beliefs. So in the United States, we are going through. And this is not my opinion, this is academics who have assessed what warfare is.
Sam Cedar
Okay, well, wait a second. If it's academics who decided this, well, then, hello.
Emma Vigeland
Okay, I'm not gonna name.
Sam Cedar
I mean, yeah, all the academics, too, have lined up. Again, we all have met and have decided. Excuse me while I draw on my pipe. That Jim Pool is correct in his assessment of our type of war. Good.
David Feldman
Sixth, which war we are going through. And this is not my opinion. This is academics who have assessed what warfare is. You get to fourth and fifth generational warfare. Now, Sixth, which people are going to argue it as we. We form these ideas in academia. Sixth, may change, but fourth and fifth have to do with online political manipulations. Manipulations of influence technologies and use of insurgency. Today, it's fair to say that we are in a kinetic conflict. Civil strife began several years ago in the United States. Civil strife is not civil war, but there are many people dying.
Sam Cedar
The.
David Feldman
One of the easiest examples, of course, is Aaron Danielson took two balls to the chest from a far leftist, Michael Reinhold with a communist tattoo on his neck. First, no reason for a second.
Sam Cedar
So one guy getting shot and wasn't that like four years ago?
Emma Vigeland
It's a shot heard around the world.
Sam Cedar
Wasn't that four years ago?
Heather Parton
I don't even know if it's the actual violence, though. He's saying, like the Internet engaging on the like.
Sam Cedar
No, no. There's kinetic activity right now which constitutes a sixth generation war according to academics. Russ, it's. You're arguing with academics, not with me.
Heather Parton
I just want to be careful because it seems like we might be engaging now in an act of war.
Sam Cedar
This could be. We're both being kinetic. I mean, it's true.
Heather Parton
Maybe by the seventh.
Sam Cedar
There's kineticism here. There's kineticism. Let's continue on here. I want to hear about this chest.
David Feldman
From a far leftist, Michael Reinhold with a communist tattoo on his neck for no reason. And now we have the swatting swatting of conservatives and the firebombings of Tesla facilities for the specific goal of destroying a company for political reasons, for which now Tesla stock has gone down partially. It's not the only reason. And we've seen Tesla evicted from the Vancouver auto show out of fear of terror attacks.
Sam Cedar
Oh, wait a second. I didn't know about the eviction of the Vancouver auto show. We got. Oh, whoa.
Emma Vigeland
I gotta take your mic down a little bit.
Sam Cedar
Oh, boy. That was a problem. Yeah, we gotta cut that out of the audio.
Heather Parton
Yeah, that might. That was kinetic.
Sam Cedar
That was kinetic. I didn't. I'm sorry, folks. I Didn't realize about the Vancouver auto show. We are at war. This is war. Suspend habeas corpus for the sake of the auto shows.
Emma Vigeland
I'm going to actually skip a little bit ahead here. I mean there's.
Tim Pool
Oh, I will.
Sam Cedar
Convenient Matt.
Emma Vigeland
Okay.
Sam Cedar
So that we, we take him out of context. That I guess.
Emma Vigeland
Fine, I'll play this a little bit more. And then Muscab is war.
David Feldman
Now, it may not be full blown hot kinetic conflict, but when you have the arrest of Donald Trump's lawyers, we are dealing with administrative warfare, which is a degree of administrative conflict which we don't see in previous times based on communications technologies. If you go back several hundred years.
Sam Cedar
What is he talking about? Words mean anything. He's just stringing together words. Words, administrative conflict. The, the, the arresting of his. Is he talking about Rudy Giuliani and.
Emma Vigeland
The other woman who got that? Remember when you said I don't care about the people that got arrested when you were in his studio?
Sam Cedar
I feel like I swore. I certainly said that to myself many, many times in my head while I was there. But administrative conflict, that is now. Like what? So this is. So when you arrest a lawyer of Donald Trump's, then we're at war. Who are we at war? Okay.
Emma Vigeland
If a judge is arrested for like immigrant stuff, or whatever, you know, not so much worry.
Sam Cedar
That's not worry. Okay.
Emma Vigeland
It's given a little bit ahead here where it gets a little bit more testy.
David Feldman
I sending American citizens to El Salvador, I will be opposed in every form that I can. And it's going to be interesting if it gets to that degree. That being said, said when it comes to an actual wartime president in Trump is when Trump issues a legal order, executive order, saying we will not have these people in our military. I'm the commander in chief. He's allowed to do it. If a judge tries to stop him. In this administrative conflict, Donald Trump, I believe, is obligated to say, I have heard the ruling from the court. Now try and enforce it, which is a plan. Andrew Jackson's famous quote when the Supreme Court ruled against him in the conflict we are in.
Emma Vigeland
I love how professorial he is.
Sam Cedar
It's unbelievable.
David Feldman
Was a commensurate fact.
Alyssa
This guy wasn't the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court, there's a whole legal process yet to go through which is part of the American process now. I appreciate what you're saying, but it just sounds to me like you're redefining wars to give yourself more power, which is what every dictator is always academics, which Is to say, the situation so bad I need extra power.
David Feldman
Dictators.
Sam Cedar
Dictator.
David Feldman
Well, look, yes or no?
Alyssa
We are not in a war situation.
David Feldman
Is Abraham Lincoln a dictator?
Alyssa
We are not in a war situation.
David Feldman
Was Abraham Lincoln a dictator?
Alyssa
We are not in a war situation.
David Feldman
Okay, you are right. I'll just say you're right. Okay, now is Abraham.
Alyssa
So look, Tim, the theoretical examples you.
David Feldman
Give, it's not a theoretical. It's American history.
Alyssa
Fine. But it's not related to the current moment, which is what we're talking about.
David Feldman
So in the, in the.
Alyssa
So you're saying. Let me just lay out the argument that you made. If I represent it incorrectly, you tell me the core of your argument that you're making. Right. Is that because we are in a fourth, fifth, sixth generational warfare situation, a different set of rules ought to apply. It's a wartime. Therefore, just like you can apply martial law, just like you can suspend this or this or that or whatever. Right. And. And the point I'm making to you is this is the argument that every dictator in history has been made. Now, I don't know American history as well as you and maybe posit.
Sam Cedar
Hold on for one second. I got to take issue with that. I find it hard to believe that someone doesn't know American history as well as. As Tim Pool, but fair enough. Good.
Alyssa
The point that you make about Abraham Lincoln is relevant in some way. But what I'm saying to you is something.
Emma Vigeland
But again, like, it's not relevant because that was during a war where Lincoln said, hey, maybe Maryland, you can't go with the Confederates, otherwise it's going to be a problem for you. And didn't let them. And that was a suspension of habeas corpus. People don't view him as a dictator because he did that during the course of a just war.
Sam Cedar
There was also like a huge fracture within civil society during that time, which was the attempt of half of the society to secede from that society.
Emma Vigeland
Quite a lot more violence.
Sam Cedar
Yes, I think that like, like the. Just a reminder, half a million people died in that war, minimum. I mean, soldiers. Don't know about the knock on impacts of that, but. And I would say, what was our population at that time? It's probably a sixth of what it is today. I mean, that probably represented close to 10% of the population, maybe more war.
Alyssa
Completely different, which is we're not in a war.
David Feldman
Okay, so let me ask you a question.
Sam Cedar
Yeah.
David Feldman
Was Abraham Lincoln a dictator? Yes or no? I don't know if a leader suspended the right to do Process for all peoples. Is that, is that a dictatorial move?
Alyssa
It depends on the context.
David Feldman
So like right now, if Trump said I'm suspending the constitutional rights in due process for far left territory terrorists.
Alyssa
Look, I'm not a legal scholar that. See that seems.
Sam Cedar
Pause it for a second. Hold on for a second. Here's the problem with what, who gets to decide that they're far left terrorists? If there is no due process, it is. I just can't imagine that there's this many people who don't understand what due process is. Due process. Due process means that you can't just look at somebody and say you are a criminal, that you need to actually prove that they're a criminal.
Emma Vigeland
Yeah.
Sam Cedar
So the idea that you're going to suspend due process just for a subset of people is a ridiculous concept because you cannot determine that they are actually part of that subset of people unless you provide due process. When you suspend due process for any given person, you have essentially suspended due process for all people.
Emma Vigeland
We've already seen American citizens kept by ICE or Immigration services in Florida got let out after.
Joe Biden
Well.
Alyssa
Yeah.
David Feldman
What if Donald Trump decided he was going to arrest the Washington half of the Washington state body because they were voting in favor of groups that were attacking Tesla facilities?
Alyssa
What does that mean, voting in favor of?
David Feldman
So in, in let's say in their state body, someone proposes a bill that they will not arrest nor provide any assistance to any individual, any individual in their state who's caught firebombing Tesla facilities or other right aligned institutions. The state will not enforce the law against them, nor will they aid federal law enforcement.
Alyssa
Yeah, I don't know what the answer to that question is legally. But my point to you, so like.
David Feldman
This is the problem. If you don't know and you have no thoughts on the matter, then I don't know what we're arguing. You can simply say Tim may be right. I don't know.
Alyssa
No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm taking the argument that you're making and interrogating it as I do with every other guest.
David Feldman
So let's, let's.
Alyssa
So what I'm saying to you is you've made the claim that we're in the war.
Sam Cedar
The guy, the guy with the glasses, I don't know. Are these the two regular hosts on the show?
Emma Vigeland
Yeah, this is the two. True.
Sam Cedar
The guy with the glasses is looking at Tim Pool thinking, my God, I don't know if we've ever had someone so stupid but yet so arrogant about it. At the same time, it really does look like this guy is looking at. Like he's never seen anything quite like Tim Pool.
Alyssa
So what I'm saying to you is you've made the claim that we're in a war in order to be able to justify suspending the rules, applying equally to everybody. That's basically what you've done.
Sam Cedar
Right.
Alyssa
So when I look outside to the conflict. When I look outside, I don't see a war that justifies that.
David Feldman
When you look outside in a largely liberal jurisdiction where everyone agrees with each other, you don't see anything justifying.
Sam Cedar
No.
Alyssa
We've traveled around the United States plenty, and I have never seen anything that justifies.
Sam Cedar
Pause it for a second. Now, I was in West Virginia. Granted, this was six months ago, but did not seem like there was a war going on.
Emma Vigeland
Did you ask the academics that were.
Sam Cedar
Now, I will say this. You know, Tim is living in a chained compound, and it is sort of the most. One of the more awkward things like a chained compound down. And so he may feel like he's at war, is taking money from a.
Emma Vigeland
Country that is actually at actual war in terms of Russia, is taking money from them. To say another country is undergoing civil war. Is that six generations, that fifth generation generation of warfare?
Sam Cedar
It's not kinetic. If you've convinced yourself the guys from Belgium.
David Feldman
Or in this country, firebombing of Tesla facilities, the shooting of them up, the murder and killing of people for political.
Alyssa
Should be dealt with with through the criminal justice system.
David Feldman
So first, you are incorrect. I'm not arguing that. What do you say the conflict we are right now warrants anything close to what Abraham Lincoln did.
Alyssa
Okay, well, you kept bringing him up.
David Feldman
Because I'm trying to understand what your philosophical and moral view is.
Sam Cedar
Oh, here we go. Watch out.
Alyssa
Saying to you is you.
Sam Cedar
Where do you fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
David Feldman
I'm asking you right now.
Sam Cedar
Yeah.
David Feldman
Based on the American Civil War and what was going on, was Abraham Lincoln a dictator for suspending habeas corpus and.
Alyssa
Arresting, which is sidestepping my point, which is right now, I don't think you.
David Feldman
Can answer the question.
Alyssa
I already did answer that question.
Sam Cedar
You're.
Alyssa
I answered the question by saying you know more about it than me. You remember that?
David Feldman
So do you want to say I don't know.
Alyssa
I already said that.
David Feldman
So you're not sure.
Alyssa
I've already said that. But what I'm saying is the example you're bringing up is not relevant.
Sam Cedar
Should.
David Feldman
Should Donald Trump invoke the Insurrection act and send us army into California, Oregon and Washington to start hunting down and arresting the terrorist cells that are organizing these attacks.
Alyssa
No, I think the law enforcement can take care of that.
David Feldman
They're being, they're not doing it.
Alyssa
What do you mean they're not doing it?
David Feldman
Well, I mean we've had. Far left.
Sam Cedar
I can't, I can't even like, honestly like I feel like subjecting the audience to this at this point. It really, it. This is, we're total rubber necking now. This is a total like car accident like he is now suggesting. And I don't know when they recorded this and it doesn't, it has not aged well. If it was, you know, presumably it was like a month or two ago when there were eight Tesla vehicles that were lit on fire and Tesla was prevented from going into the Vancouver car show. And I mean you had reportedly the board of directors of Tesla waging war on Elon Musk by trying to find a replacement general for the Tesla Motor Company. But Tim apparently has some inside information that law enforcement is not looking for these people. But wasn't somebody arrested?
Emma Vigeland
I imagine so. I mean in this Tesla thing it's like they're being very antagonistic to Canadians right now. I can imagine that probably made it targets of putting.
Sam Cedar
He's suggesting that Trump should send in federal. I mean it's quite possible that if it's happened over the course of three states, the FBI could very well be involved. But he's talking about sending in some type of militia to round up these, the Tesla terrorists, these cells of terrorists that exist.
Heather Parton
A quick Google search would indicate that people in fact have been arrested for some of these activities. But maybe not buying Teslas is also. Maybe that's like 8th generation kinetic.
Sam Cedar
That is amazing. Amazing Tim. I feel like Tim is spiraling.
Emma Vigeland
I want to know what those are friendly interviewers too.
Heather Parton
What happens if you say yes, I think Abraham Lincoln was a dictator? Then what happens like in his argument? I, I was trying to piece that together.
Sam Cedar
Well then Donald Trump can be a dictator because he's president too.
Emma Vigeland
I mean to be fair, like Lincoln did suspend habeas corpus. The original name of the term dictator, you know, wasn't, was value neutral in the Roman sort of era. But the reason we don't look at Lincoln as a dictator is because we agree with what he did. Most of us.
Sam Cedar
Well, I mean, I think, look, the question is, is, does the circumstance justify extraordinary unconstitutional measures? And I think there's an, an, an argument on some level that like maybe some of the things he did was unjustified and I think probably had he lived and we had a sense of whether he had suspended them or not. But it's all, there's no like. What Tim doesn't seem to understand is there's no sort of like. Although he has the academics behind him, all you ultimately ever get is a broad consensus. And the broad consensus is there's no, like, court case that comes down and go, like, we found you guilty of being a dictator.
Emma Vigeland
There's a broad St. Peter at the pearly gates.
Sam Cedar
There's a broad consensus of, you know, you know, whether a historical figure was a dictator or not. And sometimes contemporaneously you cannot, you can't get a broad consensus. There are people who believe that, you know, Trump is authoritarian right now and others who would say, no, he's not, or others who might say, we need an authoritarian figure right now. Tim doesn't seem to have like that, understand that nuance that two people could see the same facts and say, I don't think, I do think that Lincoln was a dictator and I don't think that Lincoln was a dictator. But I, I, I think the act of suspending habeas corpus in and of itself during a civil war is probably, I would think that most academics. Yeah. Would not consider that a, consider him a dictator. Is that dictatorial? Maybe. Some might say maybe a little bit.
Emma Vigeland
Well, you live in a liberal area where everyone agrees with each other, so you don't see that we're actually at war right now.
Sam Cedar
It's true.
Emma Vigeland
According to academics.
Sam Cedar
It's true.
Emma Vigeland
Why doesn't he go out and cover the war?
Sam Cedar
He's a war report studio. He's getting ready. I feel like he's gearing up now. We're going to take one phone call. This person's been hanging on for a long time. I don't know how they snuck in. Call from a 61 7-area code. Who's this? Where are you calling from?
Joanna
Hi, my name is Joanna. I'm calling from Massachusetts.
Sam Cedar
Joanna from Massachusetts. What's on your mind?
Joanna
Yeah, I want to give some more information about the ICE kidnapping in Worcester.
Sam Cedar
Oh, yeah, please do. Are you calling from Worcester?
Tim Pool
Worcester?
Joanna
No, I'm in Medford, but I am in contact with comrades in Worcester, so.
Sam Cedar
Okay, great. We played some of the clips of it.
Joanna
Yeah. It's disgusting.
Sam Cedar
Disgusting, horrifying.
Joanna
So the daughter that was trying to protect the granddaughter. Baby granddaughter, yeah. Was charged with multiple felonies, including child endangerment. But it was actually the cops that was doing that were doing the danger.
Sam Cedar
This is the 16 year old girl?
Joanna
Yes.
Sam Cedar
Oh, geez. Okay.
Joanna
Yeah, so she was bailed out by fires out there, but you know she's gonna face felony charges. I did want to mention the loose hotline. This is their Instagram is L u C e underscore H o T L I N e. And after the roomsa kidnapping, you know, they came into power and started distributing information and trainings on how to resist ICE in your communities.
Sam Cedar
I'm sorry, it's Lucy. Will you give me that Instagram again? Oh, you have it? Okay, we have it. All right, sorry, go ahead.
Joanna
Okay, great, great. And I also wanted to mention Bill Shayner. He's a reporter and in, he's. He has a substack. It's B I L L S H A N E R and he's on Blue sky and he has like, he was there on the scene during this kidnapping.
Sam Cedar
What is his substack?
Tim Pool
So.
Joanna
Don'T be offended. It's.
Sam Cedar
Oh yeah, no, I, I subscribe to that. I subscribe to that.
Joe Biden
Okay.
Sam Cedar
I do subscribe to that.
Joanna
Okay. Yeah. So yeah, I just wanted to, you know, give some resources and you know, I don't think at this point it's. We can wait around.
Sam Cedar
What is the story of. Do you know anything about the mom who was picked up by ice? Like what was what. What do we know why she was targeted by ice?
Joanna
No, no, those details aren't available yet, but hopefully we can find out. It wasn't, you know, I don't believe she was like a, you know, Palestinian dissentful voice or anything like that. But it does seem, you know, Massachusetts being a blue state, you know, seen an uptick in enforcement.
Sam Cedar
Yeah, it does feel like they're, they're trying to go across the state. They were, they were in the, you know, obviously they, they, we saw that high profile arrest of a woman in Medford who went to Tufts and now they're just, it feels like they're coming west to let everybody, you know, put everybody on notice that they're going to do this. I hope they're, you know, like, I'm reading a little bit of like what the, the mayor said in the city manager and certainly there was a councilwoman on the scene. I don't know if she just lived in that neighborhood. Neighborhood or what. But hopefully this gets the city to become a sanctuary city. And you know, if those ICE people are going to go out there. What's that?
Joanna
I would say I, you know, that sanctuary terminology is a bit of a different, you know, Just a turn of phrase. You know, any police officer in those jurisdictions, even if they're called a sanctuary city, would be, you know, some of them would be happy to turn, you know, copper with ice.
Sam Cedar
I have no doubt that some of them would be happy to do it, but if there's a restriction on them from doing it, in other words, like, you know, they are not obligated and the city is not obligated to cooperate with ice.
Joanna
Right.
Sam Cedar
And, you know, I don't know how many of those people there were ICE versus Worcester city cops, but it would be more helpful in my estimation if. If the city said, you know, you guys need backup, bring your own. We're not providing anybody there to do crowd control for you.
Joanna
Well, I don't know. You probably also heard a couple months ago the report on the Worcester.
Sam Cedar
I know, yes, about. I. Yeah.
Joanna
So. But at any rate, there is going to be a. Oh, it probably is already underway at the YWCA in Worcester. The Worcester NAACP and City Councillor King are having a press conference and there's also going to be a. At Worcester city hall at 6pm I saw the Worcester protest.
Sam Cedar
Oh, great.
Joanna
So, yeah, definitely organize within your community, join a hotline. And if there's anyone that's willing to infiltrate these rogue institutions, that's probably what we're gonna start needing to be doing.
Sam Cedar
Yeah. All right, well, I appreciate the phone call. Glad I picked up. I had a feeling. 617. All right, have fun in Medford.
Joanna
Thank you so much. Okay, thank you so much.
Sam Cedar
Bye.
Joanna
Goodbye.
Sam Cedar
That reminds me, I've been carrying around this flyer for like a week now. Saturday, 5:10 tomorrow in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, at 77th street and 5th Avenue, there is a Nakba protest, 77th street and 5th avenue, 12:30pm you can follow on Instagram @Pal A W D A. That's Pal Awda on Instagram. This is so disturbing to me. You know, when following the debate there was an attempt to get out Biden, a lot of the reporting was that like Hunter and Jill Biden were the ones who were basically telling Biden to stay in. And you know, it's very difficult to sort of like assess these things from a distance. But it seems clear to me now that this is a Jill Biden problem because I just don't like the level of delusion and the level of value of bringing Joe Biden out in public in this way in some type of reformation project. Project is so blinkered. Like if you're a political aide to the guy or like your PR or even like, if your sort of, like, political future is in any way bound up with him or his legacy, you would just go, you know what? Now's not the time. The time really is maybe after the 26 election or, you know, now. It's just not the time.
Heather Parton
Because.
Sam Cedar
Like, people are still paying the price of Donald Trump. And it's not like people are blaming you more than they were a month or two ago. The trajectory is basically just, like, flatlined. Everybody has their opinion, and that's. That's it. Let's not stir the pot. Somebody's telling him, you got to get out there, Joe, and build your legacy. And that same person does not seem capable of recognizing Biden's ability. This couldn't be less helpful to fighting Donald Trump. This couldn't be less helpful to, you know, the burgeoning fight within the Democratic Party. And this couldn't be less helpful to Joe Biden. But for some reason, he decided to go on the View yesterday and I guess, address the questions as to whether he's, you know, as sharp as he used to be. Boy, oh, boy.
Tim Pool
Anyway, of course, can't be too out there.
David Feldman
Yeah.
Tim Pool
Mr. President, since you left, left office, there have been a number of books that have come out, deeply sourced from Democratic sources, that claim in your final year, there was a dramatic decline in.
Sam Cedar
Your cognitive abilities.
Tim Pool
In the final year of your presidency. What is your response to these allegations, or are these sources wrong?
Sam Cedar
They are wrong. There's nothing to sustain that, number one. Number two, you know, think of what we're left. We left with a circumstance where we. We had an insurrection. When I started, we did not sense a civil war. We had a circumstance where we were in a position that we. Well, the pandemic, because of the incompetence of the last outfit, end up over a million people dying. A million people dying. And we're also in a situation where we found ourselves unable to deal with a lot of just basic issues, and which I won't go into in interest of time. And so we went to work and we got it done. And, you know, one of the things that.
Tim Pool
That, well, and, Alyssa, you know, one of the things.
Sam Cedar
Hold on for one second now. Wait a second. I just want to, like, see if I can understand this and map out this answer. There's been a lot of books reporting that you were having, like, cognitive problems in your last year in office. Let me address that. Number one, nothing to sustain that. No, I'm certainly not going to get nitpicky about people's, you know, addiction I'm not sure that's the word that he was looking for, but nothing to sustain that. So that's the multiple sources, except for the multiple sources in the reporting and.
Heather Parton
The things we saw with our eyeballs.
Emma Vigeland
Right. The visual of it, including what we're seeing right now.
Sam Cedar
The way I'm responding to this. And number two. Number two, just to be clear, the question is, how do you respond to the fact that you were losing your cognition a little bit in the last year of your presidency? Number two, we had a bunch of circumstances. First of all, January 6th and pandemic. A lot of people died, and we were unable to deal with basic issues. But then we went to work and got it done. And then other things. I'm not going to end it because I've been talking too long. And then let's pick up Joe Biden.
Emma Vigeland
Have shown shame because she.
Sam Cedar
She.
Emma Vigeland
She can tell what's going on. You can see the way she jumps in here.
Sam Cedar
I don't know what she's thinking. Like, maybe he's just. Performs much better when he's not on set, but, you know, like. Like when he's around the house, he's just so fluid and this and that. How many times you have to bring him out to realize it's not going to work. Both unable to deal with a lot of just basic issues. Issues and which I won't go into interest of time. And so we went to work and we got it done. And, you know, one of the things that. That.
Tim Pool
Well, and Alyssa, you know, one of the things I think is that the people who wrote those books were not in the White House with us, and they didn't see how hard Joe worked every single day. I mean, he'd get up, he put in a full day, and then at night, he would. I'd be in bed, you know, reading my book. And he was still on the phone reading his briefings.
Sam Cedar
Pause it. You know what the problem was, though, is he's on the phone, but nobody else is on it. He's talking into the phone. There's Joe again.
Emma Vigeland
Also reporting was that he was not doing that late into the night, full day sort of stuff.
Heather Parton
His face sitting there while she's talking with his head down, and he's gone. It breaks my heart.
Emma Vigeland
I know.
Heather Parton
Sad.
Sam Cedar
It's just like, let him be. Don't stop. Like, it's. It's like she is so desperate for some type of reformation project for him, and. And they blew it. They blew it. If he had stepped back a year earlier than he did.
Emma Vigeland
There's a primary. If he magnanimously stepped aside, let a primary happen there. That. That you missed your stop. Joe.
Sam Cedar
I can't. Like, it's just. You got to be kidding me. Enough. Man. Oh, man.
Emma Vigeland
Four more years, right? Am I right?
Sam Cedar
I'm staying in the race. That's why I'm coming back. And I'm announcing my candidacy for, like, what. What is it with. I mean, God help me, please, if I retire, when I retire, if I keep coming back, you know, like, if.
Emma Vigeland
I had a special feed for you, Sam. Talk about the Social Security Trustee report from 2013.
Sam Cedar
Yeah. Okay, here's. Here you go, Sam. Here's your microphone. Okay. Hey, everybody.
Emma Vigeland
A lot of basic stuff.
Sam Cedar
It's. It's one of the days of the week, and it's the five okay. Time award. It's hard. It's hard to win awards. What? Okay. Oh, Lord. Oh, Lord. This is fun. Bobby Kennedy made an argument about his recommendation for the Surgeon General. What's her name? Clancy. She is not a doctor.
Heather Parton
Casey means.
Sam Cedar
Casey means she went to medical school. And according to. Well, Kennedy says one thing. Do we have that Kennedy clip? Let's start with the Kennedy clip because it's sort of got two different stories about this. A little bit. There's a little bit of divergence of stories. Here's Kennedy asked about the doctor who never finished her residency and does not have a medical license because she never finished her residency. Now, I will say this. I'll be the first person to say, I. I couldn't go through medical school. I would not be able to finish my residency.
Emma Vigeland
Looks tough.
Sam Cedar
No. And also, I would add to that I should not be Surgeon General. Some of the things she's advocated for. She never finished her residency, and she doesn't currently have an active medical license. That's not. She was the top of her. At the very top of her medical class at Stanford. She's in every.
Joe Biden
During her residency.
Sam Cedar
She won every award that she could want. She walked away from traditional medicine because she was not curing patients.
Joe Biden
She couldn't get anybody within her profession.
Sam Cedar
To look at the nutrition contributions to illness. And she said, if we're really going to heal people, if we're healers, we can't just be making our life about billing new procedures.
Joe Biden
We actually have to figure out new.
Sam Cedar
Approaches to medicine, and that's the kind of leadership that she's going to bring to our country. And last thing on this. Okay, so just. Just to be clear here, there is at Stanford, it's Hard to say, you know, who's at the top of their class at Stanford because they don't have traditional grading there. They have a master history type of grading. My kid actually goes to a school sort of like this. It's pass, fail, or marginal pass or continuing or incomplete. They don't. You don't get an A. So you're not very difficult to determine who's at the top of the class at Stanford Medical School. But, you know, she was at the top of her class. That's why she left.
Emma Vigeland
I would just say, like, maybe she should have continued. And then she could have been one of the doc. The qualified people looking into those things that she's so upset. Allegedly nobody with qualifications looks into.
Sam Cedar
Also, like, how long is your incomplete residency that you can make the assessment? Like, I'm not curing any. Anyone. You know what? I'll tell you what I also.
Emma Vigeland
Sales pitch.
Sam Cedar
I'll tell you what I've also noticed. I'm not curing anybody either. I'm not a doctor and I'm not curing anybody. I don't have a medical license and I'm not curing anybody. Maybe what I need to do is start to look into supplement business, the.
Emma Vigeland
Things that definitely cure people.
Heather Parton
You say she's not the top of her class, but what if, like, there's a class photo and she's standing sort of in the top row and then there's platform.
Sam Cedar
Yeah, platform shoes.
Heather Parton
The top. The top, the highest.
Sam Cedar
Well, here's. Here's Donald Trump. And Trump is. Remember, folks, the buck stops here.
Tim Pool
New nominee for the US Surgeon General who never finished her residency and is not a practicing physician. So can you explain why you picked her to be America's top doctor?
Sam Cedar
Because Bobbi thought she was fantastic. She's highly. She's a brilliant woman who went through Stanford. And as I understand it, she basically wanted to do. She wanted to be an academic as opposed to a surgeon. I think she graduated first in her class at Stanford and Bobbi really thought she was great. I don't know her. I listened to the recommendation of Bobby. I met her yesterday and once before. She's a very outstanding person, a great academic, actually. So I think she'll be great. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Is she a teacher now? Is she a professor? She's academic in the sense that she. A general, more general account academy.
Emma Vigeland
Is she like the academics who think we're in seventh generational warfare?
Sam Cedar
I don't know. I don't know how important the surgeon general is.
Emma Vigeland
She's born A year and some change before I was okay.
Sam Cedar
So this is, she's been.
Emma Vigeland
So she has a lot of experience, I guess.
Sam Cedar
Unbelievable entrepreneur. Cool.
Heather Parton
Is he like setting up? He was saying, well Bobby liked her. And then earlier he was tweeting about Besant Saying Bessant says 80% is good. Like is he sort of like protecting himself by saying, oh, these are decisions made by these other guys.
Sam Cedar
It does starting to feel like he's feeling the heat a little bit and he's like shopping around for somebody to jettison. If Scott says It's okay at 80, I'm not. It does feel a little bit like he's, he's like, I don't know, trying to escape, maybe some accountability for things. All right, let's play just one more clip and then we'll go the. The Supreme Court the other day basically greenlit the Trump administration's ban on transgender people in the military. The Pentagon basically began the process. Not quite sure of the details because the way they, they write about this stuff is so sort of like, like it's so sterile. The Pentagon, NBC reports, will immediately begin moving as many as 1000 openly identifying transgender service members out of the military. I don't know if that means what kind of discharge they'll be getting. We don't know. I don't know. And now they're basically issuing a 30 day window in which you can self identify. And this was a directive issued yesterday. The Defense Department in the wake of Tuesday's Supreme Court decision is going to be begin going through medical records to identify others who have not come forward. Board Hegseth wrote in a post on Twitter. No more trans at DoD. Hegseth said that his department is leaving wokeness and weakness behind. No more pronouns, he told Special Operations Forces conference in Tampa. No more dudes in dresses. We're done with that shot, right? He says no more pronouns. So everybody's just going to be known as their first name. I'm not sure what that means. Active duty troops will have till June 6 to voluntarily identify themselves to the department. And troops in the National Guard and Reserve will have until July 7th. Here is a post from supposedly a they can't confirm whether he's a member of the military, but it certainly appears. What number is this? Number 10, the that one guy nick on tick tock. It's a seven minute, eight minute clip, but we'll just play the first minute or two to get a sense of one trans person story. You know, what's involved in getting undercut, kicked out of the Military for no reason after literally almost two decades. Today I'm not okay. Two days ago, the Supreme Court ruled on the injunction place to stay on the injunction that protected trans service members from discharge. Today, Secretary Heg says released his policy for the DoD and it outlines and paves the way for discharges to begin within 60 days, which for me means that a career that I have been working for, for going on 18 years is going to be stripped away from me within the next six months.
Tim Pool
Months.
Sam Cedar
To have something that you have worked so hard for, for such a massive portion of your life, dedicating energy and mental stability and missing holidays and birthdays and major life events, to have it taken away for something that is arguably a political act. I've worn my uniform Every day since 2013. Every day. Prior to that, I enlisted in 2007. Two deployments in that time frame. I worked full time as a technician during that time period. I've done a lot of time. Done a lot of time. And I did all of it because I knew that at the end of my career there were going to be benefits that would set me up for success so that I wouldn't have to struggle. I gave up freedoms and choices and things that my friends and those around me, my family, enjoyed. I gave that up because I knew that at the end of my career here that something better was coming and it's being taken away. All right. I mean, that's. Don't know the details of the discharge, but if it's a dishonorable discharge, they're going to lose all their veteran benefits. And I have heard numbers, you know, up to 14,000 members of the military. I don't know if that's the actual numbers. I don't know if we know the actual numbers yet, but just amazing.
Emma Vigeland
This is betrayal.
Sam Cedar
Unbelievable. It is completely harbor breaking. And I'm not even that much of a fan of people being in the military, to be honest with you, but that's what you want to do. The idea that. And here's the, the irony of the whole thing, in no way is this based upon merit. Like, this is everything they accuse DEI of and affirmative. Like every, like being identitarian, all of those things, that's exactly what this is. There is no assessment of whether these soldiers can function in the military. That happens every day. That happens every day. Day. Tell me after 18 years and two deployments, they realize like, oh, yeah, no, there's a problem. Of course not everything that they project on to DEI and how these admissions are unfair and it should be based upon merit goes completely out the window because of their religious fundamentalism or sex pestery, whatever the word would be.
Heather Parton
So according to the Guardian here, about a thousand people have already self identified and the Pentagon says they'll quote, begin the voluntary separation process and then they quote a person named Ray Timberlake, a spokesman, spokesperson for Sparta Pride, who's one of the thousand people who chose to self identify, who says there's. There's no guarantee to access for your pension or severance as an honorable discharge.
Sam Cedar
Yeah.
David Feldman
Horrible.
Sam Cedar
All right.
Emma Vigeland
So like, you know, guys like Peak, he can say we're done with guys and dresses. Just the brainless cruelty of it.
Sam Cedar
Yep. Stephen, Alaska. I'm retired Air Force. If there's a retention problem, maybe these dipshits should keep the people that want to be there. Yep. All right, read oh some of these and then get out of here. Mia Pink chat. GPT says Lincoln was not a dictator. Apparently the computers are still on our side. Kowalski from Nebraska. Sam Abraham Lincoln only suspended habeas corpus along railroads unilaterally because Maryland wasn't exactly a loyal Union state in order for Congress to get back to Washington, who then voted to suspend habeas corpus as a sizable chunk of the nation was an open rebellion which all judges at the time agreed with Lincoln's assessment that we have to had to guarantee the legislature to convene to prepare for war.
Emma Vigeland
And Lincoln held elections.
Sam Cedar
Tim's pool bald head. But what is the implication of saying Lincoln overstepped his power? Should the Civil War victory in the Union be declared null and void and the Confederacy brought back? I'm not sure what he's arguing or I'm not sure he's arguing, but he doesn't want to say that he's a neo Confederate explicitly.
Emma Vigeland
That's what's funny is Tim is definitely hearing that stuff from the type of libertarian who would call Abraham Lincoln a tyrant.
Sam Cedar
Space tacos. I arrived last night to JFK airport from Mexico City. About half a dozen plainclothes officers searched in every passenger's luggage arrival. In all my years of flying, I never seen them searching the entire flight which the majority were American tourists.

Podcast Summary: The Majority Report with Sam Seder Episode 2494 - Trump Tariff Failure Will Be Taken Out On Migrants w/ Heather 'Digby' Parton & David Feldman Release Date: May 9, 2025
Introduction
In Episode 2494 of The Majority Report with Sam Seder, host Sam Seder delves into the intertwined issues of economic policies under former President Donald Trump and their repercussions on immigration enforcement. Joining him are Heather 'Digby' Parton, a contributing writer at Salon, and David Feldman from The David Feldman Show. The episode navigates through Trump's tariff strategies, the ensuing economic turbulence, and the intensified actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
1. Trump's Tariff Policies and Economic Impact
Sam Seder opens the discussion by addressing recent tariff maneuvers by Donald Trump, highlighting the president's attempt to strike an 80% tariff deal with China. This move, according to Seder, has led to significant strain within the US automotive industry.
Notable Quote:
"Trump floats increased taxes for people earning over $2.5 million, 3% bump. I wonder if they can handle it." [04:26]
The tariffs have not only affected Chinese exports to the US, which saw a sharp decline of 21% in April, but also led to cheaper imports of UK cars lacking American parts under existing trade agreements. Economists and business owners expressed deep concerns about potential shortages and an impending recession.
David Feldman emphasizes the detrimental impact of high tariffs, labeling them as "essentially an embargo" that disrupts trade and inflates prices across the board.
Notable Quote:
"Anything over a 50% tariff is essentially an embargo. Right, like nobody's going to ship anything here." [36:05]
The conversation underscores the unpredictability of Trump's economic strategies and questions the long-term viability of such high tariffs, predicting widespread economic fallout and business closures.
2. Immigration Enforcement and ICE Actions
The episode transitions to the escalating immigration enforcement actions, focusing on a distressing incident in Worcester, Massachusetts, where ICE agents detained a mother and her teenage daughter. This event epitomizes the harsh realities of the current immigration policies.
Notable Quote:
"ICE agents are detaining and deporting children. And some of those are U.S. citizens." [87:23]
Heather Parton provides additional context, discussing the broader implications of such enforcement actions and the emotional trauma inflicted on families. The episode highlights local resistance, with city officials and community members organizing protests and support networks to combat these aggressive tactics.
Joanna, a caller from Massachusetts, shares firsthand insights into the Worcester incident, emphasizing the brutality and injustice faced by immigrants, including U.S. citizens being wrongfully targeted.
Notable Quote:
"She's gonna face felony charges. But it was actually the cops that were doing that were doing the danger." [125:07]
The discussion also touches upon the psychological and societal impact of ICE's operations, drawing parallels to authoritarian practices and expressing concern over the erosion of civil liberties.
3. New Pope Announcement
A brief segment covers the recent election of the new Pope, Leo XIV, highlighting his progressive stance on migration and critiques of political figures like J.D. Vance.
Notable Quote:
"I think Pope Leo can bring together the broken parts of this church and Christianity and our society and offer a countercultural moral clarion call that I think we need now." [13:31]
Sam and Heather discuss the Pope's potential influence on global and domestic issues, particularly his support for migrants and the poor, while acknowledging the skepticism regarding his political involvement.
4. Gender Policies in the Military
The episode addresses the Supreme Court's decision to endorse the Trump administration's ban on transgender individuals serving in the military. This policy reversal mandates active-duty and reserve troops to self-identify within a 30-day window, leading to the potential discharge of up to 1,000 openly transgender service members.
Notable Quote:
"Active duty troops will have till June 6 to voluntarily identify themselves to the department. And troops in the National Guard and Reserve will have until July 7th." [148:00]
Sam Seder and Heather Parton discuss the emotional and professional ramifications for transgender service members, criticizing the policy as discriminatory and harmful to the affected individuals' careers and lives.
Ray Timberlake, a spokesperson for Sparta Pride and one of the self-identifying service members, narrates the personal distress and uncertainty faced by those impacted by the policy change.
Notable Quote:
"It's being torn away from something that you have worked so hard for, for such a massive portion of your life... I'm going to have to..." [150:53]
5. Surreal Debate with Impersonator
A particularly unusual segment occurs when a guest named David Feldman attempts to impersonate President Joe Biden, leading to a heated and surreal exchange with Sam Seder. The dialogue becomes increasingly incoherent, blurring the lines between reality and satire.
Notable Excerpts:
"Does Abraham Lincoln a dictator? Yes or no?" [112:14]
"You are a sadist. You're a sadist, dude." [86:59]
This segment serves as a stark contrast to the serious discussions, injecting a surreal and comedic element into the episode. While unconventional, it underscores the chaotic nature of contemporary political discourse.
6. Breaking News and Ongoing Issues
Towards the end of the episode, Sam Seder shares breaking news about the federal judge's order for the release of Rumesa Oz Turk, a Turkish university student detained by federal immigration authorities in Massachusetts. This development is presented as a positive outcome amidst the broader immigration enforcement narrative.
Notable Quote:
"This is fantastic. Pop this up. And is this the same Vermont?..." [97:17]
Additionally, the hosts touch upon the persistent economic challenges, mass shootings, and the rise of militias, reinforcing the episode's overarching theme of societal instability.
