We absolutely LOVED talking with Connie Clotworthy, Founder of Worthy Beyond Purpose on The Mark Howley Show, bringing her passion and knowledge for serving mindfulness in elementary schools across LA. When we asked what impact this work is having she shared a startling line..."we may have already prevented the next school shooting." Connie and her team are heading into school systems to teach children as young as eight years old the profound skill of mindfulness, emotional regulation and resilience through breath and meditation. Connie discussed some big topics: how WBP exploded in 2020 during pandemic chaos, why we need to arm young children with emotional resiliency to prevent conflict and perhaps reduce school shootings, and the stories of young children taking control of their chronic anxiety and/or ADHD. Worthy Beyond Purpose is an in school curriculum based in LA providing weekly mindfulness and meditation practices to elementary school children. The curriculum runs the entire school year and this year their impact report reads "30% less school conflict in the last 5 years serving over 1,600 children." You can head to their website to read the impact reports as well as access their full offerings including online options for those outside of LA. Connie offers a FREE meditation on Zoom every Wednesday 10am PT for all ages--the whole family can participate!
