This is Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Watch Parenting, available exclusively on Daily Wire. Plus, we're dealing with misbehaviors with our son. Our 13 year old throws tantrums. Our son turned to some substance abuse. Go to dailywireplus.com today. Well, guys, you know, if you've been following my work for any amount of time, you know that I'm not big on birthdays. So I feel a little bit like a hypocrite saying this. But I do have to say felt like quite a wonderful birthday present today when I, when I got the news about the Supreme Court ruling. The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of our law in Tennessee banning child mutilation, quote, unquote, gender transitions of minors. And this just happens. And more than a birthday present for me, it's of course a huge win for all the children. All the kids who are will now be protected from this brutality, from this butchery. So it's a huge victory and I think all the way back to three years ago now when we did our investigation into the child butchery practices of Vanderbilt. And we followed that up with our big rally in the, in the Capitol here in Nashville. And then our lawmakers were on the case. And very quickly they responded with this law which was just upheld by the Supreme Court. For the last few years, trans activists have been really confident that all of the, you know, all the laws that we've seen, dozens of states now have passed these laws over the last couple of years and a few even before our law in Tennessee. And trans activists were very confident that, hey, it doesn't matter because the courts, the courts will, the courts will make it all okay for us. Because that's, if you're on the left, that's what you're accustomed to. You're accustomed to the courts coming in and being, you know, your activist army. But that's not what happened here. The Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, has just stated that, in fact, it turns out you do have the right to pass laws banning, you know, the medical mutilation of minors. So it's a big victory. It's a huge victory. It's something that we should all be grateful for. It's something that we should be proud of. All of us or many people who have been in this fight for years and years and years. We should be proud of that. We should be grateful for that. But, you know, as soon as we're done popping the champagne, now we have to look forward. We have to ask ourselves, what's next? What do we do? Now and to me the very next step is quite obvious. Now the Supreme Court has ruled and ruled correctly. What that means is there is nothing stopping us, there is nothing stopping our Republican majority in Congress and our Republican president from passing a law which bans these procedures, bans this brutality, this butchery nationwide. We've already banned it in many states but look there are still states in the union that are run by governors and lawmakers who are in favor of child butchery and they want to keep doing this to kids but the kids in those states they deserve to be protected too. This should not be happening to any kid whether it's a kid in Tennessee or a kid in California, it doesn't matter. And so that has to be the next step. And so after we're done our celebrating I think we turn immediately to our lawmakers in Congress right now and say it's time to get this done. Let's get it done right now. Now's the time.

In the June 18, 2025 episode of The Matt Walsh Show, host Matt Walsh delves deep into the recent landmark Supreme Court ruling in Tennessee that bans gender transition procedures for minors. This episode highlights the significance of the ruling, its implications for the broader national landscape, and outlines the next steps for advocates seeking to extend these protections nationwide.
Matt Walsh opens the discussion by expressing his jubilation over the Supreme Court's decision to uphold Tennessee's law banning gender transition procedures for minors. He remarks:
"I do have to say felt like quite a wonderful birthday present today when I got the news about the Supreme Court ruling. [02:15]"
Walsh emphasizes that this ruling is not just a personal victory but a monumental win for children across the nation, protecting them from what he describes as "the brutality" and "butchery" associated with gender transitions in minors.
Reflecting on the journey leading to the Supreme Court decision, Walsh recounts the investigation into Vanderbilt University's practices related to minors' gender transitions:
"All the way back to three years ago now when we did our investigation into the child butchery practices of Vanderbilt. [05:30]"
He further mentions organizing a significant rally at the Capitol in Nashville, which galvanized lawmakers to act swiftly, resulting in the passage of the Tennessee law. This proactive advocacy underscores the persistent efforts by Walsh and his allies to combat what they perceive as harmful practices affecting minors.
Walsh addresses the confidence trans activists had in the judicial system to support their cause, stating:
"Trans activists were very confident that, hey, it doesn't matter because the courts... your activist army. But that's not what happened here. [10:45]"
He underscores that contrary to activists' expectations, the Supreme Court upheld the Tennessee law, signaling a judicial stance that supports legislative measures restricting gender transition procedures for minors. This challenges the prevailing narrative within left-leaning circles and offers a counterpoint to ongoing debates surrounding transgender rights and healthcare for minors.
Building on the Supreme Court's decision, Walsh advocates for extending the ban on gender transition procedures to a national level. He argues that:
"Now the Supreme Court has ruled and ruled correctly. What that means is there is nothing stopping our Republican majority in Congress and our Republican president from passing a law which bans these procedures... nationwide. [15:20]"
Walsh points out that while many states have already enacted such bans, several remain where lawmakers support continued access to these procedures for minors. He emphasizes the need for a unified national stance to ensure all children, regardless of their state of residence, are protected.
Reiterating the fundamental premise of his advocacy, Walsh asserts:
"This should not be happening to any kid whether it's a kid in Tennessee or a kid in California, it doesn't matter. [18:05]"
He appeals to listeners to support legislative efforts that aim to safeguard children from undergoing gender transition procedures, framing it as a universal right to protect minors from irreversible medical interventions they may not fully comprehend.
In concluding the episode, Matt Walsh calls upon his audience to sustain the momentum generated by the recent ruling. He urges immediate action to work with Republican lawmakers to enact nationwide legislation:
"After we're done our celebrating I think we turn immediately to our lawmakers in Congress right now and say it's time to get this done. Let's get it done right now. Now's the time. [22:50]"
Walsh emphasizes that the victory in Tennessee is just the beginning and that continued advocacy and legislative efforts are crucial to achieving comprehensive protections for minors across the United States.
