So all that aside. Oh, one more note. We're doing a TMS fantasy football league this year. He's at punishment, by the way.
Daniel Jeremiah
Is there going to be a punishment?
Bucky Brooks
He's at you good men. I'm at McShay 13. I want a couple things from you. First names for that league that should just be the TMS fantasy, the McShay show fantasy football League or give us some names, maybe even team names. Right. I'm interested in maybe getting someone from the audience to be a part of it, but we'll see. Logistically, I can already hear Tucker and Dan being like, oh, here he goes again. The other thing is what should be the award for the winner. And most importantly, I want suggestions for what the punishment should be when Mensch comes in dead ass last and we have to embarrass him with it. Okay, let's dive right into these. Okay. We're going to get to the, we're going to get to the running backs, the receivers, the tight ends and then we'll get to a bunch of different over unders at the end of this. For the rookies, I want to start right off the top. The rookie running back by season's end. Your RB1, RB2 and RB3. You want to list them off?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, I'm going to Arizona's Jeremiah Love, Seattle's Jadarian Price and Minnesota's Damon Claiborne.
Bucky Brooks
I like, I considered Claiborne. RB3. I went for RB3. Jonah Coleman, as you know, if you've been following the show, I just think he's NFL built. I think I'm excited for what he can do and I think in Denver they've got two backs there but Jake AK Dobbins. We'll see about his health and how it goes. RJ Harvey, who they drafted in the second round last year, they have high hopes for him. But I think Jonah Coleman could have a big year, especially around the goal line. Here's where we're different, though. Interesting Neither of us want Kaylin Black.
Daniel Jeremiah
You know, it's tough behind McCaffrey. I don't.
Bucky Brooks
I just. Right. I want Jadarian Price, RB1. This is. I want to remind everyone, this is for fantasy football at the end of the year, like, throughout the year, I went with Jadarian Price over Jeremiah Love.
Daniel Jeremiah
So I.
Bucky Brooks
Price one. Love to Jonah Coleman. The offensive line is the same and should be better than a year ago. We saw what Kenneth Walker was able to do, especially in the playoffs. Right?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep.
Bucky Brooks
They obviously, with Kubiak, they want to be a physical run first team and set everything up off of it. That's always been the Shanahan Kubiak way with that. You've got. You've got an offensive line that, as I said, should get better. You've got Jadarian Price coming in. I don't even care about the fresh legs and all of that. I think he's a better. He's got a better supporting cast. And if you say, well, well, they drafted Jeremiah Love or they did in the, you know, pick number three overall, he's going to be the feature. Yeah, I think he's going.
Daniel Jeremiah
Is that what I sound like?
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. In my mind when I'm, when I'm, when I'm typing price 1. And I know I've got to defend this and like, if.
Daniel Jeremiah
For. For all of.
Bucky Brooks
Here's where I struggled for all of the negativity around Ashton Genty last year. You know, he still wound up with 1338 yards from scrimmage.
Daniel Jeremiah
I did not until I went back and looked. Yep.
Bucky Brooks
So I'm not saying that we're going to have this, like, mediocre year. And by all accounts, Ashton Genti was a huge disappointment last year. Right?
Daniel Jeremiah
Right.
Bucky Brooks
975 rush yards, but he had 1338 total from scrimmage. So I think that Jeremiah Love is going to have a really good year. But I could see a world in which Jadarian Price comes in and finally gets to be the number one overall back in an offense that is ready to go with better blocking up front and is still involved in the passing game. And I could see for Seattle, he has just a more productive year. Remember, Zach Charbonnet is coming off the acl. Obviously, Kenneth Walker's out of town. He's gone. They. Why they use the 32nd overall pick, the last pick in the first round. Charbonnet is gone. And then George Holani, like, he's a nice piece, but this is an Emanuel Wilson. Right. Like, this is absolutely his backfield. So that's.
Daniel Jeremiah
I don't know if it's his backfield. I don't. I don't really know if that's absolutely the case. I think that Charbonnet, when he's back and ready to go, and if you're telling that Charbonnet is not going to be 100% and he hurt the knee in the, in the playoff game, I believe the first round or their first playoff game, if you're telling me that's the case, then I get your argument. I really do. I think Zach Shardman is. It's going to be 1A, 1B with those two backs. I mean, an ACL is not what it used to be, and I think ideally that's what they want. They want both of those backs to get a lot of carries. Whereas I know that Arizona's got some talent on this, on the, on the roster.
Bucky Brooks
Like, don't open that door for me.
Daniel Jeremiah
About what? Oh, no, I, I'll dis what exists
Bucky Brooks
in the backfield with Jeremiah Love compared to what exists in the backfield with Seattle with Jarian Price.
Daniel Jeremiah
But this is about touches. Right. So this is what I would argue with you.
Bucky Brooks
Yes.
Daniel Jeremiah
That.
Bucky Brooks
That, that is.
Daniel Jeremiah
I understand what you're saying, but you don't take a guy third overall and it does. At that point, I have no more concerns about who's in the backfield with him because they're going to get him the ball. You don't take a guy third overall and not give him the ball. I know Jeremiah loves getting the ball. If, if Jeremiah love was taken 32nd like price and was going to this Arizona roster, you'd be saying to yourself, I don't know if he's going to get as many touches as I thought he was. This is a different. It's a different animal. And, and Jeremiah Love is a far more prudent.
Bucky Brooks
And I'm sick and tired of making your arguments for you. But Bejan Robinson, 20, 23, was, was, was the draft pick for the Falcons. Was it seventh overall?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep, it was.
Bucky Brooks
And so, so, so same neighborhood. Right. Like very, very high top 10 pick. And Bijan had 976 rushing yards that year and had. But had 1463 from scrimmage.
Daniel Jeremiah
Right.
Bucky Brooks
So I'm making the argument for you because Tyler Algier was there now. Sorry, Bijan was eighth overall. Thank you.
Daniel Jeremiah
I swore seven, but. Okay. Thanks, Dan.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. So anyway, my point is you can still have another back in the backfield. And Algier now goes to Arizona, thinks he's going to be the guy wakes up April 24, I think it was, and is like now I'm back. Basically an identical role that I was in Atlanta.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
And James Connor, who's a local hero and I know coming off of devastating injury, but reports are he's going to be back and be part of this, this, this backfield. So I looked at it and I said, here's the, here's one of the reasons this is important. Arizona is not winning the Super Bowl.
Daniel Jeremiah
Right.
Bucky Brooks
This year. Right. And I want to obviously get a lot out of my rookie and I want him to be a star and all of those things. But I also want to protect for years two, three and four when we've got our quarterback, assuming it's not Bret or, or Beck or, or Muu. Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
Right.
Bucky Brooks
So I just wonder. Let's, let's, let's get him going. Let's have an, a really good year, but let's also not take away from what he could be in the next couple years. I don't know.
Daniel Jeremiah
Fact or fiction. Yeah, fact or fiction. Jeremiah Love will have more catches then Jadarian Price will have targets as a rookie.
Bucky Brooks
But usually when you target your running back, he catches the. I mean, in the NFL. But I hear what you're saying.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm saying that did Jeremiah Level have more catches than Jadarin Price will have? Am I saying that right? Do you know what I'm saying?
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, of course you're saying. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. You're saying it right. I'm just poo pooing. The concept that there's a lot of targets to the running back that don't turn into catches. That's all I'm saying. I'm being a smart ass, but I'm not wrong. Yeah, I would probably agree with that.
Daniel Jeremiah
That's where the fantasy stuff is coming in for me. I think that there's such a. There is a wide gap in the passing game and that's where Jeremiah Love will do his work and separate himself from Price.
Bucky Brooks
But we don't know that with. We don't know that with. I think Price is a better pass catcher than people think.
Daniel Jeremiah
I don't know. I don't know if you're wrong. I'm not going to argue that you're wrong. I just don't know if they're going to target him. I don't think they, like, is that
Bucky Brooks
going to be a.
Daniel Jeremiah
It doesn't matter what he is. It matters how they use him and will they use him that way. And I'm not sure we'll see that at least as a rookie. I hear your point but fantasy isn't about what guys could do because then we would just take the most talented players. It's about the situations and the schemes that they're in and I'm not sure Price is going to get enough targets.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. And. And Love will get a lot of targets.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
In that. In that offense out of the backfield. But you're back there with Connor as your third back who's. Who's been your star forever and you just brought in Tyler Algier fully expecting that he was going to be your. I don't think he's going to. I think Price is going to get more. I think that's. It's going to be close to an equal share and I could see a world in. Let's put it this way. I feel pretty good about Price having more rushing yards than Love. I.
Daniel Jeremiah
You. There is an argument to be made. I don't agree with it but I. It's. You're not out of your mind.
Bucky Brooks
Wide receiver.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep.
Bucky Brooks
Who's your wide receiver? This is for fantasy football again. Wide receiver 1. Wide receiver 2 Wide receiver 3.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm going 1. Jordan Tyson from the Saints. I just love that. I love the. The fit and I love the. The quarterback Carnell Tate for the Giants. I mean for the Titans. Excuse me the alternate reality. Carnell tape for the Titans number two and then number three Denzel Boston for Cleveland. And I would not be surprised if number three was Casey Concepcion from Cleveland. I Two receivers is going to pop.
Bucky Brooks
It's an interesting take.
Daniel Jeremiah
I have a hard time getting Ted
Bucky Brooks
who's throwing them quarter. Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
Another big bodied receiver who I think you're.
Bucky Brooks
You're expecting a big year from Shador
Daniel Jeremiah
then I think that Shador is going to benefit from having a big target he can throw the ball up to and have some. Some 50. 50 balls outside the hashes. Yeah, I do think that's going to help them.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. I wouldn't totally disagree with that. And they'll be. You would presume they'll be behind in a handful of games and trying to throw their way back in. I kind of went chalk man and I didn't want to and I kept going in different directions and. And I, I really wanted to get Antonio Williams in because I think he's gonna have a big year with Washington. Right. And there were several other receivers. Quite frankly. I. Whatever. I'll give you my 3. Jordan Tyson we agree on at 1. Carnell Tate at 2. Jordan Tyson's. Well, I'll get to it. And then I went with Makai Lemon at three.
Daniel Jeremiah
All right, get into Tyson. You got something there. Something, something's, you know, a little B under your bonnet right there.
Bucky Brooks
The concern is tight with Tyson. Stop. I'm not that worried about. I know who he is as a receiver. He's not going to be a tough through the catch guy and all that stuff. It's. That wasn't the concern. The concern was the longevity of his knee. The. Is it degenerative? Is it going to be a long term issue? And quite frankly, I'm just going to be honest here. I don't love him being in New Orleans because I don't love some of the, the medical stuff from what I understand from people in the league and I don't love what's going on with Olave and I'm talking about long term. But if we're talking about rookie year, interesting.
Daniel Jeremiah
I haven't heard anyone else mention that. It's a good point.
Bucky Brooks
If we're talking rookie year, Tyson, like we're going to be good to go. He ran 28 routes for scouts. He's good to go. No, but seriously, joking aside, he, he's good. He's good to go. And when he. Jordan Tyson, when he's right, is the best wide receiver in this class in terms of dynamic ability to separate, get open and he's not even great after the catch. But I just, I think he's going to be, it's going to be a like a quantity thing. I think he's going to be, I don't know, 70 plus catches as a rookie. I really do. I could see him getting to close to a thousand receiving yards. I think that offense is going to open up. I also love the play caller who happens to be their head coach. I love his ability to, to get him open scheme him open, you know, not that he needs a ton of it, but he is a rookie. And I also love the play caller in Tennessee. The former Giants head coach Brian Dabel and I love having a young receiver with that connection and Malik. We don't even know what he's going to be in terms of full health early in the season. There's some concern that he won't. Maybe he's not even the start. Like he's not ready to go completely week one or maybe he is but he's. They're like being careful with them. So with all that said, I think Tyson and Tate are pretty. I feel good about them. I consider Concepcion I considered Boston. I think both of them could have big years but I think they, they kind of take away from one another with Jerry. Judy, right?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep. I just, I have a feeling I, I understand your logic there though. And Harold Fannin's an absolute monster over the middle of the field too. Is going to take, he's going to eat. So they're, it's, it's about, A lot of this is about target share, like what kind of target chair are these players going to get? And that's why I trust Tate and Tyson. I don't think you draft a guy in the top 10 without feeding them the ball.
Bucky Brooks
But how is it that Philly with all of this offseason mess and with AJ Brown gone and obviously you've got another, you know, smaller, not big wide receiver in devonte Smith opposite him. But how is it that and, and as you said on last week, on Thursday Eli Stowers comes in. Essentially he's another receiver in the room, you know, but, but I'm, I drafted Makai Lemon because he is so ready today for the Philadelphia Eagles. I drafted him at what, not 20 overall? Because yeah, he may not be the biggest, he may not be the fastest he runs. His heels touch the ground when he runs a 40. He's, he's funny at the podium and all that stuff but this dude is ready. So I think he's gonna have a big year and I think they need him to have a big year.
Daniel Jeremiah
Wouldn't surprise me. Again, it's all about. I worry about how many targets he will get. I just do like devonte Smith's gonna be the guy. Then you have Goddard and Stowers, then you have the running game. I think he'll have a very good year. I think there's a difference between having a very good year and feeling comfortable about a guy in the top three.
Bucky Brooks
Who's your third, third receiver again?
Daniel Jeremiah
I want Denzel Boston Denzel Boss and I get it, man. You could throw that right back in my face. I understand. It's just about a feeling. It's about that big bodied receiver who can make 50, 50 balls. I think they are going to come from behind or they're going to fall behind in games. I think Shador will be better in his second year. Their offensive line should be better, a little bit better protection. So it's an interesting, really leading the quarterback room right now. Is Deshaun Watson supposed to start?
Bucky Brooks
I, I kept trying to, I kept bringing it up during the pre draft. I don't know if it's ownership leaning. I don't know if Monkin was brought in with the. Hey, we're gonna give him another ch. I. I'm hearing different things, man.
Daniel Jeremiah
Thanks for the heads up, Dan, by the way. Yeah, I guess.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, it was. That was. That was out a few last week.
Daniel Jeremiah
So I guess a better way of cleaning that up is saying I think the quarterback play will be better. Although I'm fascinated now by what that's going to look like.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, it's a whole. It's a whole nother show. It's a whole nother show. Flying J's and everything else took a real turn.
Daniel Jeremiah
I didn't. Yeah, I didn't. I did not.
Bucky Brooks
I was just. While you were talking, I was looking what's. What's fascinating about this class. Right. Like, I obviously Tate and Tyson are chalk. Lemon is chalk. Beyond that. Concepcion, if he had a monster year this year wouldn't shock me. Denzel Boston, the same. I could. The only one I couldn't see being in the top three receivers in production is Omar Cooper Jr. And I could be wrong there because it is Geno and like they'll spread it around but I don't feel great about that. Stribling could have a really good year. The way. The way Shanahan will dial him up in his like the production. He can get down the field with his speed. No, I don't mean. I'm talking. Not after catch and some down the field. Jeremy Bernard won't be in the top three.
Daniel Jeremiah
I don't think he'll be in the top three. I think he'll have a very good year. I don't think.
Bucky Brooks
No, I do too. I don't. I do too, but I don't think there will be enough big play explosion. But Antonio Williams, I told you. Malachi Fields, like I like like that fit. I like that fit in the.
Daniel Jeremiah
Can't go. Can't go top three, though.
Bucky Brooks
No, I'm just saying Zachariah Branch could have a big year. Yeah, we can't go top three. I'm Chris Brazel. Chris Brazil is one. Watch out for. For that with Ted with Tet Tetoa TMac.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
He could have a big year. So I don't know. It's an interesting group. What's not that interesting is the tight end one tight end, two tight end three tight end one tight end two. I don't know. Well, go ahead. Who do you got?
Daniel Jeremiah
I went Stowers first even though I like Sadiq better as a prospect. I just love Eli Stowers. And that offense and think that he's gonna have a big year. So I went with him first for Philadelphia, of course, and then I put Kenyan Sadiq second. I just think he's going to get enough targets. I don't think you draft a tight end that early and not. And not really work them into your game plan. And I like the idea of Garrett Wilson and, you know, taking some pressure off on the outside. I even think Omar, Omar Cooper is going to help him a little bit. I think Kenyan Sadiq will be too. And then with Marlon Klein, the tight end for the Texans, who I talked about this the other day, I really believe they know what they're doing with this kid and I think they like to use tight ends. Nick Kaylee, the offense coordinator, is a former tight ends coach. Keep an eye on Marlon Klein. And I know they have all these receivers on the outside, but all those guys have had a hard time staying healthy and I think before it's all said and done, Marlon Klein is going to have a nice season. When you look back at it.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, I, I wouldn't be surprised either. I went Sadiq1 because I feel like if you draft them in that spot, they're like there's going to be an emphasis on right, right, like you're going
Daniel Jeremiah
to get them the ball.
Bucky Brooks
But it won't shock me at all because yeah, they have Mason Taylor and they obviously have Garrett Wilson and they have. I don't think these tight ends are going to be super productive as rookies. And in terms of previous year comparisons, if you will, I think Sadiq, he's still developing as a route runner and how to separate, I think it. But. But there's going to be a level of explosion and commitment too with Sadiq Stowers. I mean, yeah, I get why you put him tight end one, I really do. But you still have Goddard and drafted a receiver in the first round and you still have Devonte. So like there's only so many balls that go around. But tight end three was fun for me. I think Jolly was the 11th tight end. I could have made an argument, quite frankly. There was some stuff like the durability stuff a little bit I think led to the fifth round with him. But I could make an argument that he's the third or fourth best tight end in this class. I really could. And I.
Daniel Jeremiah
And receiving tight end. Absolutely.
Bucky Brooks
I would actually argue he's the best route running tight end in this class in terms of like separating natural skills like in and out of breaks, those sorts of things.
Daniel Jeremiah
Interesting.
Bucky Brooks
I, I just love, I love this. I don't know. I, I understand that you've. I understand he's a rookie. I understand he's a fifth round pick. But I also, I look at him and I think, gosh, Sean Payton just love the jokers, you know, he loves the guys that are chess pieces and he can move around now. I also get that they've got. What's his name? Evan Ingram. Yep.
Daniel Jeremiah
On the back nine.
Bucky Brooks
Away on the back nine and getting close clubhouse. I guess he's my surprise tight end three if he's the 11th one drafted.
Daniel Jeremiah
But I do, I like the um, with the 11th guy.
Bucky Brooks
I envision him having this surprising year where we're like, we should have seen that Sean Payton's got this weapon at tight end and he's like, he's younger, fresh legs ready to go, coming in like, you know, 43 catch is like back to back years, minimum 43 catches. I don't know. I just think he's. He's ready. So that one's going to be interesting to me, but I don't think it's going to be a big tight end producing year. I don't.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, we're going to. This is going to come up in a minute and I tend to agree with you, but I want to wait. Wait for it. As McShay likes to say.
Bucky Brooks
Okay. A player with pedigree, name recognition that may not have as much opportunity to put up counting stats in year one that we're going to call this the most likely to be overdrafted category. Fantasy football owners.
Daniel Jeremiah
This is going to stun you comer, but I didn't really read the fine print on this one because I didn't really see the counting stats in year one. I don't know what that is. Maybe let's dumb it down for the big guy. I'm going to go with. I went with Jeremiah Love. And that's because I just think that people. The expectation because of his talent and the amount of touches he's going to get that when you compare him to other running backs that people are going to end up being like, I think Jeremiah loves a first round pick in the draft and I get it because I love the player and I and you in the workload and all that. But I don't think he's going to be. I think he's going to be too focused on. I don't think they're balanced enough for him to really do his thing. And I think it's going to Take a year or two before Jeremiah Love turns into like a Bijan Robinson terms of fantasy. So I think it's going to take a breath, but I think a lot of people are going to draft him early this year because of just how good a player he is. He's a damn good player. But when you compare him to other, other backs, like take him out of the rookie class and look, overall, you, I, I think that a lot of people are going to take Jeremiah Love too early. Yeah. Not a knock on the player at all. Not a knock on the player.
Bucky Brooks
Well, obviously, I mean you've argued every, every other step of the way you've argued for Jeremiah Love. So I, I know it's not a knock on the player. I'm going Omar Cooper Jr. I, I just don't, I, we just talked about two tight ends there. You know, you, you drafted Sadiq, who's essentially another slot receiver. You got, you got Garrett Wilson, who's your star receiver. You got Mason Taylor who is not, not a massive impact receiver, but he's a reliable, consistent target. I think Omar Cooper Jr. Will have a good year. I think he'll have a really good career. But I think he's, you know, a little bit nuanced. I think it'll take time.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
And by time I mean maybe like half a season or a season. Not that he's not ready, but I think like to develop that rapport. I don't know, I just, I, I, I, it's not even gut. I just know that he compared to some, compared to Jordan Tyson and what he's going to be for that offense compared to Makai Lemon and stepping in with A.J. brown gone and looking for fresh faces and let's get this thing rolling. Compared to obviously Carnell Tate and what he's going to be for, for that offense. Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Gino's coming off a bad year, man. I like Gino, but he's coming off a bad year. Like we'll, what do we, what do we have with Geno Smith? I'm not sure we know quite yet. I don't know whether we're getting, you know, so we'll see with that. And that's another reason to maybe take a breath with the Omar Cooper Jr. Market.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. But if you're, if it's a one year league and you're drafting and you say, well, national champion. Remember that catch he had against Penn State and he's awesome. Yeah, he is awesome.
Daniel Jeremiah
Oh, no, I get it.
Bucky Brooks
Oh, you know what I mean? And so I, I Think people know Omar Cooper Jr. More. More or better. He's no more name recognition because of that. Sick. Was a 160 run that they had and the big moments.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, that's crazy, right? But yeah, right. Yeah, I agree with you.
Bucky Brooks
Then maybe they even know Concepcion or they know Stribling certainly.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
So I just. There's this. When I read the description of what we're doing, I would just say like, be careful. Let's wait for year two or year three as a, if you know, single season fantasy team owner to on Omar Cooper Jr. Let's see who's throwing him the ball in the future and where we're going to be. This isn't like this. When you bring in the second receiver. I'm trying to think of a good example where it's like both guys are going to feed, you know.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Like Higgins and Chase in Cincinnati.
Bucky Brooks
Perfect. Thank you. Thank you.
Daniel Jeremiah
I mean obviously Chase is the guy, but Higgins is going to get his too. Right.
Bucky Brooks
All right, next one. The Puka Nakua League winner.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm proud of myself.
Bucky Brooks
Just, just, just, just wins you a league when you, when you pull in a fifth round receiver after you notice he had a little production and training camp or, or, or even week one and you wind up getting that guy for the rest of the year. Late round prospect most likely to start the season on waivers in your fantasy football team but end up in your starting lineup. Who's your guy?
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm going with the Minnesota running back Demon Claiborne. And I think the reason is I, I had him as my number three back, but I think his production is going to be backloaded. And what I mean by that is I think you're gonna, you're gonna sit there for six, eight weeks and say what the hell was men's thinking? But he's behind Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason. Aaron Jones is an older guy who's had some problems staying healthy. Jordan Mason's had some problems staying healthy. Demon Claiborne is one of the most ex. He's not big, but he's one of the most explosive runners in this class. He's got talent. He's a guy, one of those guys who could take 15 to 20 touches and turn it into a monster fantasy production. So if I, and the other thing I was going to say, like, I don't know what the passing attack is going to look like for Minnesota because of the quarterback position, but I do feel like it's going to be at its best when we get into mid October and November and he's had some oconnells had some time to really figure out what they do best. And they still have Jordan Jefferson. They still have Jordan Addison. Like, think that that's prime for a young running back to get on the field, work his way in the rotation and have this kind of run from the midway to the end of the fantasy season. And people will be psyched that they had this kid on the back end of their roster for the whole year.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. And. And psyched can mean like three weeks, three weeks of the season. He stepped in and provided for you. And, and if there is durability stuff now, he's not, correct me if I'm wrong, he's not great catching the ball out of the backfield. He had some fumble stuff. Go ahead.
Daniel Jeremiah
The fumble stuff. I like the way he catches the ball out of the backfield. He just gets very angry when he has a drop and he will spike it. That. We gotta, we gotta cut that out.
Bucky Brooks
All right. So. But I, I can see that one. I, I actually. And, and I should. I think it's important to tell people, like coming into this. I think it was a 2 SE. No coming into last season. It was like he could be a second, third round pick, you know.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
The talent is there. I'm going Deion Burks, he was like the fourth or fifth to last draft pick.
Daniel Jeremiah
Ride or die, baby. I love it.
Bucky Brooks
I'm going down with the ship, man. But I'm telling. Hang on to just keep an eye on Dion Burks. Okay. Just keep an eye on Dion Burks, the Oklahoma wide receiver. He is undersized. He is in the past he has been an outside vertical receiver who looks like a slot body type wise. And I think he can work a little bit inside and out. I like Shane Steichen with this kind of receiver. Think about, you know, Devonte Smith, it with Philadelphia. I like, I like how Steichen will utilize this. Now, obviously we'll see Daniel Jones back healthy. Let's get it going. Dion Burks was a top 100 talent. His back. There's some back injury concerns I still haven't gotten. Like, I know there were texts going on around the league like, what do you have on? Why is he falling? And then like, I think teams got really nervous. Well, Chris Ballard takes advantage. You got an opportunity of a guy falling off, falling all the way to the seventh round. Who you thought was going to go in the top 100 picks because that's what the league kind of thought of him in worst case, top 120 I want to remind people of this. This is a vertical receiver with explosive speed. I'm talking 430-40149, 10 yard split, 42 and a half inch vertical 1011 broad jump. His testing was exceptional. He is a right.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep.
Bucky Brooks
And he had Jackson Arnold, who can't throw the ball vertically as his quarterback and John Mattier with half a hand. When he had John Mattier healthy, the healthiest he was this first two games. I'll even exclude the first game because it was against lesser competition. But he blew that game up. First game and then the bowl game after mater had a little bit of time to rest and kind of rehab a little bit. Those two games were against Michigan and Alabama and in those two games he combined for 14 catches, 208 yards and two touchdowns. Everyone wants to beat on him because the production wasn't there and he's a vert. But they didn't have a quarterback who could throw in the ball down the field. Now you get to the NFL and yeah, they brought Alec Pierce back and they got Josh Downs in the start in the slot. But Akeem Westbrook is is their other receiver. Anthony Gould, Ashton Doolan, Laquan Treadwell. Are you picking up what I'm putting down here?
Daniel Jeremiah
I am. I'm hearing you, man.
Bucky Brooks
Opportunity.
Daniel Jeremiah
You're on. You're on to something.
Bucky Brooks
All right, next one. I'm just saying hang on to hang on. Keep an eye on Dion Burks.

Daniel Jeremiah
I'm. I'm looking ahead here now because we're going to get into some of these odds and I hope this is a typo, but I'm seeing something that says dandel. Is Dandel a thing? Is that what we're doing now?
Bucky Brooks
I. I think our guy, because he's had a couple Dan Comer joints that he's produced for us, is getting a little, you know, this could be a
Daniel Jeremiah
scooter congust concussion situation here. Maybe the scooter accident the other night. He's not himself. I'm a little worried, but I.
Bucky Brooks
He did have a scooter accident which is like don't get me started. It is intentional though. Is. Is the information I'm getting from the. The control room. FanDuel doesn't have necessarily all of these odds out, so he's going off. So he's calling it Dan Duel. But we'll, you know, we'll, we'll take them and run. But we do want to make the very strong point that FanDuel is the greatest partner in the history of partnerships. Thrilled.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yes.
Bucky Brooks
And so all these, as we get closer to all of these kinds of, of odds will be out there for you. But, but if in the case where it's not at FD Sportsbook at FanDuel, you and go out and get the app and you'll be able to get all these odds and a whole lot more. There's a ton out already on the futures. Tony. That Chargers future, you love it. A 1600 Super bowl and I think it was like ten and a half wins over, under, bang, the Chargers. Anyway, let's just go over, call them. I don't. Dan dual like get out. Nine and a half.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm calling it Dan dul. I love Daniel.
Bucky Brooks
Okay. Of course you do. Suck up.
Daniel Jeremiah
It's my guy.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. Hypothetical odds. Fernando Mendoza starts. This one's fascinating to me. Nine and a half. I feel like you're our rookie quarterback overs guy. So I'm guessing you're going to go over here. But I want to, I want your take. But this was. Because we know how it's going to start. But how's it going to end with
Daniel Jeremiah
Mendoza Look, I don't think it's because I'm optimistic or that I feel like these guys should be starting. I think I'm realistic. And after seeing some comments from the owner the other day about, you know, there's reasons for fans to be excited about Fernando Mendoza being our starting quarterback, and it sounded more sooner than later when ownership gets involved in like that, I think this is going to be an over. I think he's going to start more than nine and a half.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. And there are. There are majority owners and they're minority owners in life.
Daniel Jeremiah
Right.
Bucky Brooks
I learned that lesson the hard way when I. Me and Elio went in with Portnoy on a. On a horse, and he was the majority owner.
Daniel Jeremiah
And Elliot, Netflix, there's a documentary here. Netflix. Just letting you know.
Bucky Brooks
Gosh. And. And Portnoy made a decision. I didn't. We shipped him off to California and we never saw Smoke Show City again. But the point is Brady is the minority owner here and certainly has strong say in a lot of things that are going on. I'm not even. Brady absolutely wants. And Brady wisely is planted his flag in. Rookies don't come in the league ready to go. Kirk Cousins comes in and he's the perfect bridge the gap because Kirk Cousins is in a place in his career and is the human being to have in that Alex Smith role for a year, like Patrick Mahomes. Right. And so this is all set up beautifully. We know. I shouldn't say we know because you're right. Like, I'm already feeling the winds blowing in. The Santa Anita wins. Santa Ana wins, whatever they call them. I think it's very, very, very likely that Kirk Cousins is the week one starter. Okay. I would have said half the season or so I could see it being five games. And. And he's in. Mendoza's up. I wouldn't shock me if it's three or four, you know, So I think we're both. We're both going over here. I do wonder how strong the head coach is and the minority owner is if they view it where it's like, listen, we know he's ready. We know he's awesome, but he's not ready. Ready. And we don't want to put it. Or, or. Or. How about this one, Steve? Or we're not ready for them.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, I love that idea. I love that idea.
Bucky Brooks
Smarter than you in this. In this regard. You know what I mean? I've coached forever. I played forever. We got all these Super Bowls combined. I don't know.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. I think that's, that's a better argument to make if you're winning football games with Kirk Cousins, because that's the other thing. Tom Brady likes to win. I mean, he hates to lose. And, and no one. I mean, it's going to be tough if Cousins starts losing games right away. That's the other aspect.
Bucky Brooks
No, I, I understand that, but what if you're watching Kirk Cousins do that and you know that Mendoza is more talented at this point in his career and all that, but do we want to put him out there because we're not ready? I don't know. But I, I, I think it's going to be over. I'll be shocked if it's not. Minimum ten games. This one's even more fascinating. Carson Beck, nine and a half. Same Dan Duel number for Carson Beckett. Nine and a half. But it makes you think,
Daniel Jeremiah
yeah, I'm going, I'm going under here, but I think it should be over. This is the, this is the almost the exact opposite take that I would have from the other team. And that's, that's, I agree. I know what I have Jacoby with Brissette. Throw in Carson Beck. Let's see, man, we're gonna have.
Bucky Brooks
I know what I got in Gardner Minshu. I know what I got in both of them.
Daniel Jeremiah
Let's see what Carson Beck can do. Let's, I want to see the press conferences. Is he rolling guys under the bus again? Like, what are we doing here? Let's throw Carson Beck in there and see how well he plays.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, and he's got 43 starts. It's not like, you know.
Daniel Jeremiah
No, reg, let's go.
Bucky Brooks
43 college starts for Beck. I, I, yeah, I don't, I don't envision it for some reason, though. I think they should.
Daniel Jeremiah
I think it's going to be under.
Bucky Brooks
I do, too. I got under. I wrote under two. I, I just, I could see it being like the final six games or something like that to get a feel, but quite frankly, like, honestly, after three games, if it's not looking good, put them in the rest of the year. Find out what you've really got to know and, you know.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
So I think we're, we have the same. This one's interesting. This is totally Dan Duel because fanduel, this one's at zero, but Dan Duel's got. Cole Payton starts at quarterback. He put in parentheses, which is, I get his point. Like, he's, could play like a fullback.
Daniel Jeremiah
Watch out, Saquon. Here comes Cole Payton.
Bucky Brooks
But the, the Dan Duel book is going to take a beating on the under here. Here's the deal with Cole Payton, though. I assume you said under, right? Yeah. Oh yeah. I didn't even tell you. Point 0.5, half a game. So it's either not starting a game or he starts a game. Listen, I, I, I, the question is begged and you know, I'm the Cole Payton guy. The question is begged. If the Eagles at some point in the season, it, it goes sideways and by the off season you would think it, we're headed towards disaster. Right. But we always are with the Eagles and then they come out and they win 12 games and they win a Super bowl or they, you know. Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
They're in the mix.
Bucky Brooks
The thing that is interesting to me though, all fantasy or wagers and Dan Tools aside, Tanner McKee is in his last year. They're not going to pay Tanner McKee to stay here. This is what they. So he'll go somewhere else, right, as a backup. Unless something really does go sideways for Jalen Hurts. McKee comes in and he lights it up. Right. So that, that part is intriguing of, of how that plays out in terms of does Cole Payton get a little bit of run? I do think Cole Payton's going to see the field this year. I think Cole Payton was drafted to be the push tush. The, the tush push guy.
Daniel Jeremiah
A billion pounds. We're not going to use him anymore. Can we. All right. Let's just go move on. I can't believe we're doing Cole Payton again for, for 20 minutes.
Bucky Brooks
Future all pro quarterbacks in this draft over under 1.5.
Daniel Jeremiah
This number could be 0.1 and I take the under. I mean I would, I like would. This is another one. Daniel, I love this book. I, I don't know what odds we're getting here, but I'm gonna go. I, I think I can make some money here. Do we really like all pro All Pro? We're talking like Matthew Staffords of the world.
Bucky Brooks
I'll give you this. Only 10, only 10 names have shown up on first and second team all pro in the NFL quarterback in the last seven years. Those 10 names are Stafford, May, Lamar, Allen, Prescott, Mahomes, Hertz.
Daniel Jeremiah
All right, all right.
Bucky Brooks
Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.
Daniel Jeremiah
Maybe not as bad as I thought, Daniel, but still pretty, I mean all pro. I think that's pretty tough to do. And I don't like as much as I like Mendoza. Like do I think he's one of the top two. What is it to be all Pro? You Got to be a top four quarterback or a top two quarterback.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, the problem, I mean, I just, well, there's a couple problems with this. The first is like, if I place this bet, I'm waiting 15 years to get a payout. Dan Duel.
Daniel Jeremiah
That's, that's, it's pretty zen, bro.
Bucky Brooks
No, I think what Dan Dul is going to do is they're going to take my money to place the WAGER and in 15 years, Dan D. Is going to be out of business and they'll be off. They'll be off on an island, scootering somewhere, crashing into telephone poles. Dan. But, but it is, in all the, in all the comedy of this, it's, it's going to be a tough list. The quarterback position is in a great place. Like, we've got Mahomes, we got Alan, we burrow. This is the list I was reading Burrow. Lamar Herbert. Now we get the influx of some young guys with Drake.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Bucky Brooks
Caleb and Jaden. And you still got Dak looming around and Jalen Hurts was one of them, you know, and, and we got this 2027 group that's going to inject another four to 12, you know, so. Yeah, so it's going to be, that's going to be tougher than maybe ever in the next decade to be a first or second team All Pro at quarterback.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, I think they have a better, I think that number if you had gone, I would have been more comfortable like arguing the over for super bowl wins than I would for All Pro. Like, I think Mendoza can lead to a Super bowl.
Bucky Brooks
What if McVeigh in three years, four years has got Ty Simpson playing at that level? And what if, and what if the
Daniel Jeremiah
I, I hear you. And this is my argument would be, and this is what awards get into and this is why it's complicated. And I, I'm gonna punch myself in the face for extending this even longer. Is that when you look at Ty Simpson, he's not going to look like an All Pro guy. And so he's going to have a hard time beating. His numbers will have to be so much better than a Josh Allen or a Lamar Jackson because he won't pass the eye test. People aren't going to look at him and be like all Pro. They're going to be like, oh, he's a product of the system and he's a product of the roster around him. When they see Josh Allen running around making plays that he makes or Lamar makes, and they're going to be like, he's more of the archetype. He's more of the what you want at quarterback. It's going to be difficult for Tyson Simpson to convince people because of his limited skill set physically, that he's an elite guy ever. I think no matter what he does.
Bucky Brooks
You're. You're right. Let's move on. Jeremiah Love yards from scrimmage. I'm gonna kick this off. I've been. I've let you kick off these. Shut up. I'm gonna kick this one off. I.
Daniel Jeremiah
Over.
Bucky Brooks
Under 1400 yards. And the reason I'm gonna kick this off is because you're gonna say you're. You're a hypocrite. It. I'm going over. This is yards from scrimmage, not rushing yards. 1400 on Dan dual. I'm going over. I'm just saying that. That Jadarian Price says 1402 to. To Jeremiah loves 1401. And the reason is as I dug in and started doing research, as I said before, Ashton Jinty was an absolute disaster last year.
Daniel Jeremiah
Right.
Bucky Brooks
They had no business the Raiders drafting him that high. He wasn't. He didn't belong. They weren't ready for him.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep.
Bucky Brooks
He had 13:38 from scrimmage. Bucky Irving had 15:14 from scrimmage in 2024. Bijan had 14:63 in a rotation with Algier his rookie year in 2023. Kenneth Walker had 12:15 in a rotation back in 2022 and was kind of considered a little bit of a no, not that he has. He's had some up and ups and downs. Naji Harris had 1667. This guy's better than. This guy's better than all of them except Bijan. And I think he's in the same neighborhood as Bijan talent wise. So, yeah, I'll take you. I'll take the over.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'll take the over. And I think. But that's a pretty good line. Dan Dul, That's a pretty good line.
Bucky Brooks
Oh, I think it's a very fair line.
Daniel Jeremiah
I think it's going to be about that. It's going to be about that.
Bucky Brooks
I agree. If you look at the history of it, it's. If you average all those numbers going back to 2021 the last five years, it's probably right around for 1400. Jadarian Price from scrimmage. I'm an obvious over because I had him at RB1 in the. In the fantasy rankings. Are you going over on Jadarian Price? A thousand from scrimmage.
Daniel Jeremiah
I think it's another good line I'm going under. I just am not convinced. It's not that I'm. I'm not convinced he can't be a good receiver. I'm not convinced he's going to play enough of a role as a receiver as a rookie. And I do think that Jack Sharman is going to get a lot of touches when he's back and healthy. Now if that changes in that I'll. I'll change my outlook. But I'm assuming that Zach Sharpen is going to be back even though it's the ACL late in the season. I. I'm gonna go under but I think it's a really good line.
Bucky Brooks
I'm over obviously. Total wide receivers to finish seven with 700 plus receiving yards in year one. The over under is five and a half. This one's an interesting one. Felt obvious right when you said over.
Daniel Jeremiah
Well it's 42 yards a game over a 17 game season which isn't nothing but like that's. I feel like there's enough talent and enough people in the right places and the way offenses are now, I feel like over is. It feels pretty good to me.
Bucky Brooks
I'm going to go over too. But I want you to know we should have good odds if we're going to place the over because last year only two receivers got over 700 receiving yards. That was Tedro McMullen and a Mecca Abuca.
Daniel Jeremiah
Interesting. I did not know that.
Bucky Brooks
That's good to know in 2024 only five and that class was pretty damn good and talent wise coming in and opportunity. Brian Thomas Jr. 1282 Malik neighbors 1204 Lad McConkey 1149 Marvin Harrison Jr. 885 and Romeo Dunze 734.
Daniel Jeremiah
Okay, interesting.
Bucky Brooks
Only five that would have been under each of the last two years. Yeah but I still like we talked about Tate and Tyson and Lemon. I would say Concepcion or Boston.
Daniel Jeremiah
One of those two unless the they prevent the other one from doing it. But I hear you.
Bucky Brooks
So that gives us three. I think Stripling could four, right? No, I said oh no sorry four. Sorry. Tate, Tyson, Lemon, Concepcion or Boston. That gives us four hopefully Stribling and Antonio Williams. I would put next up on the like I could see it it I could see it Stribling in in San Francisco, Antonio Williams in Washington but I'm not like I'm not betting on it. But then I also could see one or two from Brazil. Omar Cooper Jr. Even though I don't I would hold off on him this year. I think he Could Branch is an interesting one in Atlanta. They need a second receiver desperately and he could provide that.
Daniel Jeremiah
700 is going to be tough to get to but yeah, it is going to be.
Bucky Brooks
Chris Bell as they're trying to throw their way out of trouble if he's back healthy. Bryce Lance with the saints. 700's a lot but like that's. That's like that would be two rookie
Daniel Jeremiah
receivers with 750 yards.
Bucky Brooks
20. It's 2050 yard catches fields and even my guy Dion Burkson with the Colts. All right, let's switch it. Tight ends to finish with 500 plus receiving yards in one year over under three and a half under. Hammer it.
Daniel Jeremiah
I tend to agree with you and I think when you look at the tight ends take a little bit longer to adjust to the league too. I feel like that's a. That's true too. There is a path here and it's interesting that you missed mentioned the odds. If the odds got good enough here, I'm taking a flyer because if you think Sadiq and Stowers can get there, you need two more. Do you think like Marlon Klein could pop? Eli Raritan's another guy for New England who I think could have quietly could have a nice year and get to 500. Jack Andre is a late round guy in a crowded Cincinnati tight end room. Does he somehow pop as a really reliable guy for burrow and sneaks in that range?
Bucky Brooks
Yeah. But those guys who are really reliable and all that.
Daniel Jeremiah
I agree with you.
Bucky Brooks
Gunner Hellman like 389 last year, had
Daniel Jeremiah
a great rookie season season burrow thrown on the ball like there's a difference there. I agree with you. I just think that the, if the, if the odds are good enough it starts to get interesting to me because I could see a path. But I tend to agree with you. I would take the under.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, I'm hammering it. Warren, Tyler and Fannin were the only three with 500 plus receiving yards last year. Tight end.
Daniel Jeremiah
All right.
Bucky Brooks
Last one dudes. Yeah, last one. First or second team. The lesson I learned in doing the research is it was a reminder. It wasn't a lesson. How freaking hard it is to become a.
Daniel Jeremiah
It's so hard.
Bucky Brooks
All Pro selection, right? First or second team 2026 All Pro selections in this class over under 1.5. What do you got?
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm taking the under. And it's no disrespect to this class. It's just what you said. It is so difficult to come in and be that young and be that good at your craft and that that at your position.
Bucky Brooks
Tamiri DK was the only all pro from last year's draft.
Daniel Jeremiah
As a return guy.
Bucky Brooks
Yeah, as a return guy. That's it. And the 2021 was the most in the last decade for rookies that were on first or second team all pro and Mike Micah Parsons was first team.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yep.
Bucky Brooks
Rarity Jamar Chase and Rashawn Slater or second team. But I want to remind people 2021 class is going down as one of the strongest impact classes and maybe the modern the modern era of the NFL draft in football. This class is not 2021. It's just not so under on that. This has been fun. Yeah. I mean Dan duels at least. At least we have something something else to laugh about. So three three and a half stars to comer 5D you mention.
Daniel Jeremiah
Thanks man.

Episode: A Rookie Class Fantasy Football Preview. Plus, Hypothetical Over/Unders
Date: May 18, 2026
Cast: Todd McShay (as Bucky Brooks), Steve Muench (as Daniel Jeremiah)
Topic: Deep-dive on the 2026 NFL rookie class for fantasy football, focusing on rankings, breakout potential, and hypothetical over/unders.
This episode provides a comprehensive fantasy football preview for the 2026 NFL rookie draft class. Todd McShay (as Bucky Brooks) and Steve Muench (as Daniel Jeremiah) dissect the top prospects at running back, wide receiver, and tight end, offering their fantasy rankings and in-depth analysis on player roles, offensive schemes, and early-year production. The second half leans into hypothetical “over/under” player props for key rookies and NFL storylines, sprinkled with plenty of friendly banter and classic pod vibes.
“We're going to get to the running backs, receivers, the tight ends, and then we'll get to a bunch of different over/unders at the end. For the rookies, I want to start right off the top.”
— Bucky Brooks (04:12)
[04:42–14:00]
Top RBs Ranked:
Key Arguments:
“You don't take a guy third overall and not give him the ball. I know Jeremiah Love's getting the ball.”
— Daniel Jeremiah (09:07)
[13:51–22:01]
“If we're talking rookie year, Tyson... when he’s right, is the best wide receiver in this class in terms of dynamic ability to separate, get open.”
— Bucky Brooks (16:25)
[22:35–26:40]
Top prospects:
Consensus: Rookie TEs will have limited fantasy production; those drafted early will likely be prioritized by scheme, but the year one explosion is unlikely.
“I would actually argue [Jolly’s] the best route-running tight end in this class in terms of separating, natural skills in and out of breaks.”
— Bucky Brooks (25:09)
[26:40–36:12]
Most likely to be overdrafted in fantasy:
Puka Nacua “League Winner” dark horses:
