aside, the mock just came up.
B
Let's get into it.
A
Let's take three things off the top. Tucker, put that graphic up for for the folks. All right, top 10 picks. It got a little wild, man. And I can already smell a Mach 5.1 in the air.
B
Wasn't going to do it, but I was going to do it.
A
But I do feel good about the tenor of this thing. I think players are going to come off the board a little bit earlier. On the defensive side, I think Mansour mansour Delaine from LSU. It's somewhere in that 7 to 12. I don't know if he gets to 12 range. I think Reuben Bain could very well go 8 to 8 to the Saints or 9 to the Chiefs. But let's start right off the top. Fernando Mendoza, we know is the number one overall overall pick to the Raiders. Number two. I laugh at the folks who are busting my balls about the jets in that pig. Meanwhile, every single national analyst and every local one all admits and to his credit and the organization's credit for the first time I can remember, I can remember the things of Vault man. Yeah, I've got really good sources. I trusted one the that led me in the wrong direction and I'd gotten to the bottom of the y for about 48 hours. Other than that we a were first to market on David Bailey over like a month and a half ago and B after some Reese talk, we came back and for the last 10 plus days outside of 48 hours, we were on David Bailey. And the messed up part of all of it is because of the secrecy with the number two pick for the New York jets and with Mendoza already well known, I still think like 2% of me, maybe 5% of me.
B
Here we go.
A
And maybe it's not Reese. Maybe it's a trade that we don't, you know, like it. So like get out of here. Oh, and I were and FanDuel is our biggest sponsor so everyone's on. Oh he said don't. The only tweet I sent out about David Bailey, which, by the way, I had him going to the jets for fanduel. Let me let you know how this thing works. I have been working the draft with my sources for 26 years, developing a reputation, and the people in the league don't give a shit if I'm tweeting something out. We all have business and work. Guess who the lights are on in this studio, right? You know why? Fanduel. If you looked at our website, our beautiful new website, guess who's sponsoring it? Fanduel. They're wonderful to work with. Guess what's happening in sports today. Gambling is a part of it. I understand all of it. There's no conflict. So I get an email a couple times. They're saying, hey, let's send out. We're doing a FanDuel thing. So I look at the board, they send me the board, and they're like, what kind of jumps out to you? I put out a couple things. Do you think that. That my integrity is any different? Do you think that has anything to do with the 30 phone calls? I'm talking to NFL executives like, get out of here, scumbags. Like, there's scumbags that are drifting off of our information, and. And then there are other ones who are questioning my integrity. Get out of here. And honestly, it seems like I'm worked up. I'm not even that worked up, but it's kind of like, stop. Of all the things you're going to question me on, it's the integrity of what we're doing here. And meanwhile, we've got the Schragers and Schefters and the Brers and all the local people. It's like everyone has kind of been in and out. And yes, he's planted. Schrager planted his flag on Bailey. And I have, except for 48 hours, because I got information. If you knew the source, you'd be like, oh, oh, I get it. I get why Todd did that. Seems reasonable. There's a relationship with the. With. With Muji going back, like, 25, 30 years. Might have been a source. I would so, like, stop. Please stop. Better.
B
Feel better and get that off your chest, right?
A
Yeah, I feel better. Like, it's a joke. And I honestly talked to. I've talked to three teams since all of this stuff, and, like, no one's even. Like, it's not even on the radar of people that matter. So I shouldn't even. I shouldn't even entertain it for those. Those folks anyway. Arvell Reese, I have going three. I want to get these three picks out of the way because Arizona one is interesting because Arvell. I put Arvell Reese there because I think there is a chance that. That Arizona could take them.
B
Yep.
A
I think there's just as much a chance that. Let's put it this way, if the Cardinals get their number one priority wish on that wish list and are able to move out, the team that's moving up is moving up for one of those two edge rushers. So if Bailey goes to as everyone's projecting now, then that would be for Arvell Reese. Okay.
B
Yep.
A
So now it gives me. Even if it's. It's 70, 30 with Bidwell and everyone in the league thinks. Thinks this and people are sharing it, so I'll share it, too. There seems to be a. Bidwell is really pushing and I've been telling for a month. Plus there's a voice in that Cardinals organization that is pushing for. For Jeremiah Love while others are pushing for an edge rusher at three. So we'll see on. We'll see tomorrow night. But let's say for these purposes, whether it's Arizona at 3 or it's a team moving in, Arval Reese is that pick.
B
So you feel good about the first
A
three players off the board? I feel good about the first two. Well, not the order, though.
B
You. It's going to be Mendoza, Bailey, Reese. Whatever order the second two might be, it might be Reese Bailey.
A
I feel good about Bailey. I really do.
B
Okay.
A
And I think if. If there's a shock there, we'll all be shocked together and it'll be a lot of fun. What I, what I like, honestly, if Arizona sticks and picks the guy who writes the checks and there's other people in the building, I gotcha. I think Jeremiah Love right now, it's. If, if you told me, absolutely, we're on the clock, there's no Arizona takes it. I probably am shifting that to Jeremiah Love, even though I know there are people in the building, the football side, not all, but some in the football side that would think that they should go, whether it's our Val Reese or Maui Noah or they should go in a different direction than Jeremiah Love.
B
Yeah, I wasn't getting that at first. Okay. What else do you feel good about? What else do you feel really strongly about?
A
I'd say the next thing here. Here's what I feel really strongly about. Okay. And it seems like, well, it's. It's a big range. It's actually not a big range. The thing that I'm taking away from all of these calls is Jeremiah Love, who a lot of people were saying, well, if he gets to seven, he's not getting to seven. Jeremiah Love, the Notre Dame running back is going three. As we just talked about it, the possibility with Bidwell ownership and some other people in the building. If not, I think Tennessee is very much back in play. I think a lot of the noise that started to come out was what Sonny Stiles, edge rushers. And listen, I know there are people in the building that want edge rusher. And if Jeremiah Love goes three, I think it could be Sonny Stiles there at four. Okay, so it's not like. Not everything is misinformation, but the context of it is hard to get because there are people in the organization that may be talking to other people or people who know somebody saying, well, you know, they like. They like Reese and they do. There are people who do and they like. And we all do. And they like Sonny Styles and they do. And I think they like him more than other teams because of that Fred Warner position. But I think Jeremiah Love would. My understanding is could rule the day and understandably so. I think pairing him up with Cam Ward would be the right thing to do. I think Brian Dabel could. Would love a weapon like that. I get the Tony Pollard's there, but as you've referenced, not a lot of carries last year. Let's balance this thing.
B
As a team, he was fine, but as a team, they just didn't have. Everyone loved Tajie Spears, but he just does not stay healthy and did not carry enough of a workload. He's more of a number three, I think, than a two.
A
I think the Giants pecking order. Is this at five?
B
Is this the second thing you feel strongly.
A
No, no, no, no. This is. This completes the three. Jeremiah Love is three, four, five. Okay, so we just talked about three. Bidwell owners, ownership just talked about four. I think it's. That would be the pick. But if he goes three and a lot of people are assuming Jeremiah My Love could go three, then they would probably be a Styles team. Okay. And now I'm getting to five, and that's the New York Giants. I understand the pecking order is Jeremiah Love then Caleb Downs and they do really like Jordan Tyson, the wide receiver for Arizona State, but more hopeful that that could get done at 10.
B
Right.
A
And I. Which I don't think it will. So that's my first thing I'm strongest on. Yeah.
B
What's your next thing? What's the next thing you love that you really feel good about.
A
Can I get a drink of water if you know. Let me ask you this.
B
I'll give you a second to take a drink of water really quickly. What's the best landing spot for Love out of those three?
A
That's a good question.
B
It's probably five. The Giants, right?
A
Five.
B
I think their offensive lines in a little bit better position than other teams.
A
I agree. They've got four spots that I feel good. Real, you know, good to. Real good to really good about.
B
Yeah.
A
And then you got three guys that can figure out right tackle, right guard.
B
They'll figure it out, right?
A
I think they'll figure it out. And you can also. Yeah. You can draft someone. I mean, let's face it. You. You can draft someone in the second round of guard. You can grab draft someone in the third round of guard.
B
Yeah.
A
This doesn't have to be tackle like a lot of these other.
B
I agree. That's why I think it's interesting so many people want to give him one there at five.
A
Now that you're hydrated. Yes, I am. Number two is a simple one. Okay. If Sonny Styles doesn't go four, as we just outlined to you, the how that could happen if. If Jeremiah Love is not on the board, Sonny Styles is the likely pick at number four. He goes number seven. That's the interesting one to look at. Right. So he's not going five to the Giants. He's not going six to Cleveland. That's an offensive tackle or trade out team. But I think his floor is actually seven to Washington.
B
That's. That's it.
A
That's it.
B
I love it. I love that you got in out of that one. That's great.
A
Yeah.
B
What's your next one?
A
The Rams will not sit at 13 and take wide receiver.
B
It doesn't make your point.
A
Makes sense now. I put Ty Simpson in there. I get it. Most people reading it are like, I get it. Here. Here's what I know on this situation. I know they've had a lot of interest in day two wide receivers. That's less need Sean McVeigh. I know that for a fact and I know that there are sec. And this goes back to like the evaluation part. The part that we. That's our bread and butter. Not all this other TMZ shit that goes on 10 days leading up that everyone's all worked up because I flip flopped on Reese for 48 hours.
B
Scumbags.
A
The football part of me is very clear in the vision that McVay and Snead have at wide receiver. And that's why they can find receivers typically a little bit later receiver still is a priority. I mean Puka Nakua, God bless him and let's hope that everything works out. And this was. He looks back on an important bump in his, in his journey. Right. However there's, there's that mild concern, you know, but, but even with even Puka at his absolute best, they want to bring in another receiver. The most important part of this is, and I've said this before but Dejan Stripling, Jeremy Bernard, even a Chris Bell, the blocking is not there. But, but that big, that physical, sturdy, strong, badass, will block, will break, tackle, contact, balance, that kind of wide receiver is available in the second round. They can get one of those guys. And so why am I using the 13th pick? What makes less a wild card is they're either one of two things. This F them picks 2.0 all in on 2027. We don't know if McVeigh is going to be here beyond Stafford. This could be their swan song. We're doing a two year deal. Maybe it's only one year deal with Matthew. It's not B.S. they are. Look how close they were to winning a Super bowl last year. But there's also an organization to run and so if it were to be Ty Simpson, this is also what I know for fact, they really like Ty Simpson more than other just like they really like Jeremy Bernard and Stribling a little bit more maybe than others because of fit and I know there was a point in time where there was maybe communication between, between the Rams and Ty Simpson's camp. Like I know for a fact they really like Ty Simpson. Now what I don't know and I'm throwing a dart with is at 13 are they going to take Ty Simpson? But here's the other thing I keep getting from people, people that I trust that Simpson's going round one and probably higher than you think. So is that Pittsburgh at 21? I don't think so, but it could be. Is it The Rams at 13? I don't know. I don't. It seems, it seems crazy. But what I do know is don't expect the Rams to just sit there at 13 and take Mai Lemon. Right.
B
Do you think they'll move or you think they'll take a different player there?
A
I think he's a wild card man.
B
Yeah. It could be anything.
A
I think if he. I think if there's a player, let's say it's Carnell Tate that they really want. I think it's like, yeah, take 27. Take the 20, 27 second round pick and we'll give you a second this year and go up for him. What if Jeremiah Love. It all shocks us.
B
That would be something.
A
What if Jeremiah Love gets to five and the Giants are like, yeah, we, we, we, we're enamored with it, but man, we'd love to have 13 and another pick next year and, and, and a second rounder this year or something. Something like that.
B
Right.
A
I'm just saying less is less is most dangerous when he's not beholden to I gotta get a tackle or I got. You know what I mean?
B
Yeah, I mean, I think all GMs are. But especially he's aggressive.
A
And I promise you there are teens sitting at 14, 15, 16 that are like, yo, what's up? What's less up to? That's so, so that's, that's my number three.
B
Give me one more.
A
I just mentioned 15 and 16. That's the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Jets. I know for a fact strong, strongest on. I probably could have put this at number one, but it's not as interesting as the others. They're getting calls already. And why? Because the biggest bullseye on anyone's back is Detroit offensive tackle at 16.
B
Now 17.
A
Sorry, 17. So with the, with Tampa Bay at 15. Yeah. They need an edge. They could take a tight end. I mean, they need a few things to that point. They need a few things in Tampa Bay sitting there with pick pick 15, but also picking at 46 and 77. They're chalk, man. It's like one in the one in the first one. They've seven picks. So they're a team with those needs that we've talked about. They'd like to get a tight end, someone a little, a little bit more dynamic. But before that, they'd like to get a pass rusher. Then it wouldn't like to. They need a pass rusher, they need a cornerback, they need a linebacker. So how do we address all these needs?
B
Gotta get more picks.
A
Our phone's ringing. Right, so watch for Tim. Jets are the same at 16. Yeah. There's a chance they could move up if Carnell Tate started or something like that. I think they're more likely to trade back. And so the opportunity, not only that Detroit at 17 has a target on its back, but that's kind of the, the foundation of all this movement or potential movement. It's that Detroit, then. Detroit's not stupid. Detroit knows that there's a target on its back.
B
So they.
A
Brad Holmes is like don't mess with him in the draft.
B
Right.
A
So, so don't be surprised if if maybe it's. Maybe it's a flip flop with Tampa Bay and Detroit or maybe it's going up to fort the Ravens. Like the rate this is what the Ravens do. This is what Ozzy passed down. It's like, it's like generational wealth from Ozzy down to down to Eric dacosta Costa Rica and Eric will sit there and the phone will ring and like yeah, Detroit. Okay. Yeah, well, sure. We'll move down two spots and still get Yoana and if we don't get Yoane, we'll get
B
another offensive lineman.
A
No, no, Sadiq, we'll get. Or we'll get a wide receiver or I've heard there's even interest in like a Peter woods if they move. So just keep an eye on that range of like 14, 15, 16, 17. And the thing I can't get out of my head and I reflected in this mock 5.0. Howie rose.
B
Yeah, there it is.
A
I was going to ask you Howie Roseman. He's not anyone who knows Howie. He's not sitting there patiently. Just our pick will come, we'll get our tackle, take the best one on our board. There's one they want and maybe it's Monroe Freeling because of the traits and develop them and have a year. Maybe it's Kaden Proctor, maybe it's, maybe it's Blake Miller but Freeling just feels like an Eagle.
B
Yeah, they did have an offensive line coach change and I wonder if that's going to change. I wonder if it changes their approach
A
multiple times but those are the four things I'm strongest on. Now let me flip it on you. Yeah, you get this mock draft last night and appreciate texting you for some. Let's talk some not research but like let's dig into this makes sense.
B
Let's.
A
Let's do the best football sense and it's 11 o' clock and I'm exhausted. So you handle this, I'll handle that. The McShay show is brought to you by FanDuel. Did you guys know that you can bet on the NFL Draft with FanDuel? That's right. You can bet on everything including which teams will draft which player over unders on draft positions, what position a team takes first and of course who's going number one overall. Basically if it's draft related, you can probably bet on it. Couple things I would keep an eye on. All information is going towards David Bailey, Texas Tech edge rusher at number two. Get in on that before the the numbers just start to skyroc. Also, Ty Simpson's going to be in Pittsburgh for a reason, whether it's Arizona moving up to get him, the jets maybe surprising us taking them a little bit earlier. If I had to bet on it, I would say Arizona is the team for Ty Simpson and it will be in round one. Okay, so if you want the chance to turn your mock draft into some real cash, FanDuel is your place to get in on the action. Just open the FanDuel app. You're officially on on the clock 21 plus select states or 18 plus DC, Kentucky or Wyoming. Gambling problem. B
I'm going to go with three I like because I there are three that I really like. And listen, we hear the Spotify comments, we hear what you guys are saying. All you guys talk about is a top 10 picks. When are we going to get into my team? Let's get into some guys in the back end of this draft. Let's start with the Detroit Lions getting Blake Miller, the tackle from Clemson. And this may surprise some people who have watched the show because I'm not the biggest fan of Blake Miller and pass protection, but I just think he's such a good fan fit for this team. He's a glass eater, he's a road grader. He's, you know, a tough guy. I love that the Lions have the, the ability to take a left or a right tackle because even though they last, they lost their left tackle and Taylor, Decker, Penny, Sewell can play anywhere. So they can take the best tackle. They don't have to worry about position fit. Miller would play on the right side. That's where he played in college. Sewell would kick over the left. I think you're getting a day one starter at pick 17 in the draft and a guy that's going to be a great fit in your locker room.
A
I love that. And I love, I love the. You know, we're here at the draft and you've come to a reasonable spot with some players and it's hard to do.
B
I'm evolving as a human being.
A
You are.
B
I'm trying.
A
I've actually recognized that. All right, what next?
B
The Houston Texans getting T.J. parker. And I get it. Look, if you're a Texas fan, you're like, hey, man, we got Will Anderson Jr. He's pretty good. And Danielle Hunter, still signed to 2027. I think he had 15 sacks last year. What are we doing here? You're getting a third.
A
Yes.
B
You're getting a third and you're getting in a great spot. And I think a player that's been really undervalued by some people because the statist stats weren't as great last year. Give me a break. Throw on the tape. Go watch him at the Senior Bowl. Look at the workout. This is a player that I really believe when we look back on this draft and we do all these redrafts, he's going to be a guy that we're going to wonder how didn't go in the top 15 picks.
A
I was looking at it last night, too. Yeah. Offensive tackles that need. Right. And so is guard or however they want to do that.
B
What needs, needs do they have, though?
A
They don't.
B
Right?
A
They don't. And so they also. Here's the thing that I forgot about last night. They pick again at 38, bro. So like, you know, whether it's. Whether it's Chase Bantis or Emmanuel Pregnon or Keelan Rutledge, one of those three at least is going to be on the board at 38. And so, yeah, we're like they brought pregnant in for a visit, by the way. Like, I like looking at the visits late in the process to see. And then I go back to last year's and it's like some teams, like, if they bring you in, ain't being drafted by him. Others they bring you in like you're you're on the short list.
B
Right.
A
And some. Some of them. You can look at all the positions. Like they brought in these four positions and then they wind up attack. So. But they brought in pregnant. Probably not going to be drafted by the Texans. So it's probably Besantis or Rutledge.
B
Yeah.
A
But anyway, Nick Casario has earned this right as the GM with the roster he has built to sit back and take the best player available. And for me, that was Parker in that scenario. It was the best player. I think there were a couple wide receivers that were slightly higher, but they drafted two last year. It was best player available at a position where what can make us better this next year when we're trying to make a Super bowl run.
B
Yeah.
A
And I like the draft isn't going to solve quarterback play getting better from. From. From C.J.
B
if there was a guy there, great. But I don't think there is.
A
So. So what else can we do to support. And support would be another pass rusher. So yeah, that, that one was intriguing to me. And then they turn right back around the second round and get their guard, you know.
B
Yeah.
A
All right. What was. Give me a third one.
B
What about the Seattle Seahawks getting San Diego State corner Chris Johnson. My guy through the whole process, really January, but the whole process. My guy. I. I just love the pick. Look, you could say that, you know, Reek Woolen's gone, but Josh Jobes is still there like. And he played well enough, I think to be in, you know, to the driver's seat of being the starter if their roster doesn't change. But Job's not a playmaker. He has two picks over the last two years. He had one pick last year, Chris Johnson. We already know he has a very high football IQ. You give him a guy like Mike McDonald and the things that they can do with that kind of a corner opposite Devin Witherspoon.
A
Man, Job's been up and it's all. It's like Frank D. Felice, my old baseball coach.
B
Here we go. It's been a while, man.
A
Boys, boys. Put you up to three in the bat in order nosebleed. So you wonder like now that he had Job has to be the guy, right? Does he get. Is it a nosebleed situation? So let's protect against that. I've also heard, interestingly enough, don't be shocked if that's a trade in Stukes spot. Arizona Cardinals don't mind that. Arizona Wildcat for. For Seattle at 32 Heroes.
B
I'll say this about that football Sense wise, I do wonder. He's. He is really a nickel. Trade in sticks is a nickel.
A
He's a nickel safety.
B
Damn good nickel. But isn't that Nick Heman warrior? Isn't he a nickel safety?
A
Yes. So I just. I was gonna say I've heard that I, I do believe strongly that John Schneider wants Jadarian Price. I don't know that he wants to 32.
B
Right.
A
I think the number one intel on Seattle is they're going to trade out. I tried to limit the trades in this because it's frustrating when I. You read through the, like a mock draft. At the end, it's like all these trades, like what does this even mean? You know, So I tried to not make it messy and, and also perfectly. To be perfectly, like blunt, like allow the 32 teams that have a pick. It kind of sucks. If you're a Seahawks fan, you go to read a mock draft and we've got a pick in the first round and now I don't, I don't get one.
B
Right.
A
So I did that. And also Chris Johnson I truly believe will go in the first round. I didn't have a perfect spot for him, so I wanted to make sure that, that he got in there as well. So it's kind of a mixture of different things, but I do think the Jadarian Price, the Notre Dame running back connection is very much real. Okay. And so it could be a 32, but I think it's more likely trade back. You look at the history of those last like seven picks in the first round, it's like average of like three to four of them wind up getting moved.
B
Right.
A
So. So keep an eye out on that. All right, let's. Let's do this. So one wild card or something?
B
Wild card, yeah. Love it.
A
And you started off.
B
My wild card is I think you have Alders receivers going in the. We'll say a 24 to 32. Okay.
A
Yeah. The Carnell Tate thing was a lot of shrapnel and I don't believe for a second he's gonna be sitting there at 16. I think the jets are among a couple of teams that could wind up moving up to get a receiver. If Carnell Tate were to fall a little bit, my money would be on that Jordan Tyson's the first receiver to come off the board, but I wouldn't put a lot of money on it. So. So I do think keep an eye on, like, don't expect when you do these mock drafts, you try to put the. And then there's One player that starts to fall and I'm like, that's fine. Yep. Right. It's not accurate to where I think that's where Carnell Tate is going to wind up going. But every once in a while, there's a player or two in the mock first round that catches some shrapnel. Tate cotted here. But the other point I want to make going through this exercise is I felt very comfortable with these receivers falling. And it lines up with the conversation we had like a month, month and a half ago where I was like, listen, I like all of these receivers. I really like Concepcion and what he can do after the catch and with the ball in his hand. I really like David Boston with the contested catches. And you argue that he's a little bit better as a route runner. And Denzel Boston. But Denzel Boston, I'll take David Boston.
B
I remember him yoked up receiver.
A
I won't take David Boston. All time bust is the top 10.
B
He was so big.
A
Yes. And Omar Cooper Jr. So. But I think all the. With so many teams looking for offensive tackles and then some of these, like, there's going to be a safety that goes. There's going to be a cornerback or two that go. There's going to be a guard or two. So there's. The receivers could wind up coming down to the bottom. I was worried at one point. I'm like, am I going to get these guys off the board?
B
This is what. You're stealing my wild card.
A
Oh, sorry. Go.
B
No, no, it's good. You actually bought me some time because I should have done this before. That was bad prep on my part. You got six wide receivers going in the first. I'm actually going to take the under there. And it's. It's exactly what you're going into right now. It's these offensive linemen. I. I think it's an offensive lineman. I think it's an edge and I think it's starting to be a corner class, too. I think Colton Hood going to go in the first round. Chris Johnson's going to go in first. Some of these corners that we liked as maybe early second round, I think are now sneaking into the first. Keep an eye on the Buffalo Bills. I think they need interior offensive line help. I think one of these guards is going to go. I think you're going to. With going two guards and with all those positions, those three positions I'm talking about, one of these receivers I think falls into the second round.
A
I wouldn't surprise me at all. And you Know what actually pushed them down so far. And this is another thing. Go back. Just go back to my tape and what I believe in. I don't think they're great, but I think they're better players than anyone's giving them credit for. What did I say to you over a month ago about the interior defensive line class? I believe two should go in the first round. Peter woods and Kaden McDonald. And here we are in this final mock draft. And I wasn't doing it for that purpose. The intel is. I mean, honestly, I heard Peter woods like the Ravens, if they trade that far enough, could be interested. I heard that Minnesota has interest with Hargrave and Jonathan Allen both.
B
Yep, both gone.
A
I heard the Houston Texans are Houston. Nick's going to sit back, man. Take. Yeah, there's an offensive tackle. That's good. They're awesome. If there's a defensive tackle, awesome. If there's an edge rusher, awesome. You know, that's. So don't be surprised if one or both of those defensive tackles go. And so you add those to all the offensive tackles in the edges.
B
And do you see the Caleb Banks thing, too? I saw it on the way in. Supposedly his agents handing out a letter that he's been cleared or will be cleared and ready to go by the summer.
A
I think that's awesome, man. And I think he's an awesome talent. I think.
B
I. I'm not saying first, but he's a second. He's one of the most interesting players in this draft.
A
His range is pretty massive, I'm sure. And, yeah, I just know talking to a lot of teams like, he's too talented to. To last too long, but big guys with foot injuries, as we've. As we've discussed ad nauseum here. Yeah, there's a bad track record for that being reoccurring. Right. And so it's. Availability is the most important ability in the NFL. And you start to worry about, is this going to be like a 3, 5, 6, 7 game per year issue? Yeah. Caleb Banks, what's your wild card?
B
What do you got for me?
A
What is my wild. My wild card?
B
So much information swimming around that head.
A
Dallas is only traded in the first round one time, going back to 20 in the first, second and third round, 37 opportunities. 30. 37 picks they've had in the draft dating back to 2014. And DeMarcus Lawrence in 2014 since that pick, they have not traded up. That was the last time they traded. Okay. So every year we do this, Jerry's gonna go Lose his mind. Let's go Cowboys and trade up and give. They don't do it and they actually draft pretty well. However, I don't envision a trade up to three for Dallas. I don't envision any trade that requires them to package 12 and 20 to occur. I do envision and I saw Schrager did this. I will never like maybe we go up to three, I mean go up to nine with Kansas City Chiefs. If we're Dallas and we just flip flop the four picks so you get 12 and 20 Kansas City because you need. You can afford to get what you're looking for. Maybe at 12 we can't and I'll get to that in a second. But you can also at 20 get your offensive tackle right and that's a big thing for Andy. On the flip side. Dallas. Dallas. I've already been told that they're looking to trade back from 20 but they really want to get up a little bit from. From 12. And why? Because every scenario it was like a, like a mock draft simulator in my brain in my hotel room last night. Texting mensch and and all my notes. There wasn't a single scenario in which Mansour Delaine and Caleb Downs were still on the board or one of the two. And so they want an edge rusher and there was talk about them moving up for an edge. Bain ain't going to be there and we know that Bailey and Reese aren't going to be there. So now you're saying the three edges gone, the cornerback gone, the safety gone. Yeah, they could sit at 12 and there was some interest in Dylan Thieneman but really would rather get Caleb Downs or Mansoor Delane. And the other thing that I think is not a far fetched concept is nine George Pickens right now there's not a lot of headway and I didn't quite grasp that until the last like 7, 10 days. CD Lamb they drafted when they had wide receivers.
B
Yeah.
A
And yeah, they can. Then you go back to 29, pick 29 and you can. So I'm just saying there are options there that include Dallas and I'm not saying it's just Kansas City. What about six? Cleveland? Cleveland wants to move back. I had Cleveland taking Caden Proctor. I don't think they're going to take him at 6. I'm just trying not to create a lot of a muddied picture with this mock draft. I think Proctor would be if they trade back a little bit. I look at Kaden Proctor as a perfect fit. He's Kind of the big guy. They need a left, not a right tackle. Yeah.
B
Don't love it, but I. You're it. It makes sense.
A
So six is a possibility. Nine is a possibility. The problem is seven is in your division. Five's in your division, seven's in your tens in your division. So limited offseason.
B
So they're all.
A
All those are NFC east picks. So. Yeah. Keep an eye on Dallas. Even though it's not historically what they have done and it's what the media has gone crazy about, a small move up for. For Dallas could be something that throws a. I wouldn't say it's a monkey wrench into the whole thing, but it could be a little bit of a. Oh, here we go. You know, Are we gonna.
B
Are we gonna get a 5.1 on the McShay report? Do people need to look for that? What are we thinking, putting you on the spot?
A
Do you want it?
B
Do I want it?
A
Yeah. Do the people want it?
B
I think they do.
A
If there's. There's a couple things I'm working on.
B
Sorry, Dan.
A
I've already alerted Dan. I'm not committed to doing one, but there's a couple things that are very easy tweaks.
B
We could clean it up right here. What would you change?
A
I want to get more clarity on Arizona. I don't think I'm going to get that with the Jeremiah Love situation. It's kind of annoying.
B
Okay.
A
If I were to get information that sounds like Arizona could be dealing, then I'm sticking with Reese there. I do think the one. The one. This Jeremiah Love, if he doesn't go three, I think could go four. I don't know that he gets there. So. Then I would give love to. I would give love. 4. Tennessee to Tennessee Downs, 5. Read. Read it tomorrow. I think there could be some shifting.
B
You still got to work it out.
A
No, I. I have it worked out, but I also. There could be. So, like. Yeah, there's a chance there's a 5.1.
B
There always is. There always is.
A
Yeah. I mean, why not, right?
B
We're here.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
That it? That's all you got for the mock?

The McShay Show – Mock 5.0: Todd’s Strongest Leans, Muench’s Favorite Picks, and Wild Cards
Date: April 22, 2026 | Host: Todd McShay & Steve Muench (The Ringer)
With the NFL Draft just 24 hours away, Todd McShay and Steve Muench unveil and dissect McShay’s final mock draft (Mock 5.0), offering premium insider analysis, confident leans, favorite picks, and a forecast of potential wild cards across the first round. The hosts break down draft-day scenarios for top prospects, detail rumblings from league sources, and provide informed guesses on likely team moves, all while reflecting the high energy and nervous anticipation just before the draft’s kickoff.
Mendoza at No. 1 to Raiders:
Ridiculous secrecy around the New York Jets’ pick at No. 2, but McShay is confident the top three are largely set—barring a late trade or Arizona shake-up.
"Fernando Mendoza, we know is the number one overall pick to the Raiders." – Todd [04:13]
Bailey/ Reese to Jets or Cardinals:
Despite outside rumors (and some industry ribbing about shifting projections), McShay affirms his sources on David Bailey as the Jets’ target. He’s frustrated by accusations that his reporting is shaped by gambling sponsorships.
"I have been working the draft with my sources for 26 years... The people in the league don’t give a shit if I’m tweeting something out." – Todd [05:19]
Arizona's No. 3 Decision Drama:
If the Cardinals stay put, ownership is divided—some lobbying for Notre Dame RB Jeremiah Love, others for edge rusher Arvell Reese. A trade could scramble this.
"There's a voice in that Cardinals organization that is pushing for Jeremiah Love while others are pushing for an edge rusher at three." – Todd [08:07]
i. Jeremiah Love Will Not Make It Past Pick 5
ii. Sonny Styles’ Draft Floor
iii. Rams at 13 Are a True Wild Card
iv. Big Trade Watch: Picks 14–17 in Motion
Tampa Bay (15) and Jets (16) taking calls; Detroit (17) has a "bullseye" for teams needing offensive tackles; movement likely here.
"The biggest bullseye on anyone’s back is Detroit offensive tackle at 17." – Todd [18:20]
"Don’t be surprised if maybe it’s a flip-flop with Tampa Bay and Detroit, or maybe it’s going up to the Ravens..." [19:33]
Bonus: Eagles' O-Line Target
i. Blake Miller, OT, Clemson, to Detroit at 17
ii. T.J. Parker, Edge, Houston Texans
iii. Chris Johnson, CB, Seattle Seahawks, at 32

On Reputation & Integrity:
"I have been working the draft with my sources for 26 years... Do you think that my integrity is any different? Do you think that has anything to do with the 30 phone calls… get out of here, scumbags." – Todd [05:19]
On the Rams’ Aggressiveness:
"Less is most dangerous when he’s not beholden… he’s aggressive." – Steve [17:40]
On the O-Line Run in the Middle of Round 1:
"The biggest bullseye on anyone’s back is Detroit offensive tackle at 17." – Todd [18:20]
On Draft-Day Surprises:
"A small move up for Dallas could be something that throws a… little bit of a... oh, here we go." – Todd [37:50]
On the Energy of Draft Season:
"I like this show. This is a fun one. There’s no sense in going an hour and a half today. We’ve covered every angle of it." – Todd [39:28]
