What's the league saying? What should they do? That's what today's show is all about. Two days until the NFL draft. You good men.
Todd McShay
I'm great, man.
Daniel Jeremiah
Tucker, roll that beat. FanDuel is a wonderful sponsor of this show. Said it from day one. I dabble in it. I love it. I love the app. And with NFL gms, utilize it. I hear you. I hear everyone out there. Yeah. I said Bailey one day I said Reese the next I said Bailey. I said, oh, interesting odds on +480 or whatever the number was. You're listening to the McShay show, presented by FanDuel, and soon we'll all be listening to all the names called in this year's NFL draft. But with FanDuel. And you don't have to just listen because FanDuel has all kinds of bets on where players will land. You know, I love this stuff. Not only can you bet on who will be drafted first overall, but you can also bet on whether a player will go in the top five, top ten, and so much more. So if you don't already have it, be sure to download the FanDuel sportsbook app today. Must be 21 and older in select states. 18 plus in D.C. kentucky or Wyoming. Gambling problem. Call 1-800- gambler, call 1-887-897777 or visit ccpg.org chat in Connecticut. Hey, listen, let's get, let's get this straight. I'm talking to NFL teams every day and I'm, I'm getting information that is from an organization. We're talking about the other 31 teams and I'm talking to a GM and then I'm talking to an executive and then I'm talking to a scout. And so there's just a lot of information flowing, right? And so I may have, and I probably did get used on the jets number two overall pick. I don't like, I do care. I'm not going to, like, hide from it and retreat. And I'm sure as shit not going to be stubborn and not come back and say, hey, 10 days ago, I had the right information then. And that lasted about eight days and for 48 hours. I think I might have been used as a friend of a former friend for a friend of this to get out there because maybe, maybe Arvell Reese could drop some more interest in the number two overall pick. Who knows? And it's not even about, like, do you. Well, all that matters is I get it right at the end. It doesn't really even matter then It's a mock draft. What are we talking about? Fanduels is wonderful sponsor of the show. I love the app. Mensch loves the app. NFL GMS check in on the what are the odds and all that and and yeah, we have a sponsorship and so one has nothing to do. There's church there. State promise you okay, that's number one. Number number two is both players made sense And I promise you this. The decision came down to Bailey or Reese And I know 10 days ago they were still kind of ironing out all those things, so. So for 48 hours we got misled a little bit and we're back on it. Today's show is not about the information though. I will share it.

feels like 10 days leading up to every draft mensch you and I get like throwing on this roller coaster of all right, we've worked 360 days or 355 days watching tape, studying, preparing, go to all star games, going to the combine, all that stuff. Get our draft boards up top one hundreds coming out tonight, right? Yep. Mock drafts coming up tomorrow. They're two separate entities. This is the mock draft. Get the sources. What's going to happen and it's exciting and it's fun and some real good football conversations happen and you learn some different things about organizations and what they view. And so it's really all good. But I don't want the stuff to get lost. I don't want like the real to get lost in all this. So let's today I'll tell you what I'm hearing, okay? And it's from NFL teams and it's what they think and they're calling and asking me questions and I'm asking questions, but mostly there and we're going back and forth. So it's what they're talking about. So hopefully if you're in it for that today, you're going to get plenty of it. But like, let's kind of remember this is what we do, right?
Todd McShay
Is it the right thing?
Daniel Jeremiah
Will we make this decision? So number two, David Bailey is going to Be the pick for the New York Jets. Then at number three, it gets interesting. We've all heard, oh, are you good
Todd McShay
with Bailey over Reese?
Daniel Jeremiah
I would take Reese.
Todd McShay
I would take Bailey.
Daniel Jeremiah
I would take Arvell Reese. I think he's going to be a more dynamic, explosive player. We'll see why, where he winds up landing. I think it's very important you have the right plan for him, the right utilization of him. I think when 10 years from now, Arvel Reese is going to be the better NFL football player, more dynamic, impactful defensive player in the NFL than David Bailey. I obviously love both of them. They're both in my top six players. I believe I gotta go and look at the definitive board, but it's out and you're looking at it. What do I have? Bailey? Six.
Todd McShay
You have Bailey at six.
Daniel Jeremiah
Thank you. So six.
Todd McShay
I'm with you. Either one I like, of course. But if I'm. If I had to choose between the two, I would take Bailey.
Daniel Jeremiah
Okay, so now we're on to pick three. Pick three. Here's the information. Why does the love stuff leak in the last hundred hours? Is it phony? Is it real? Jeremiah Love. Ownership is the word that I'm hearing for every team. Here it's the owner. Yeah, yeah. Here's the owner, too. The owner wants. Bidwell, wants the. Wants Jeremiah Love. But. But Monty wants Austin Fort. The general manager wants whatever edge. Whatever edge, assuming they stick. What I do know and what I know, everyone in the organization is united on let's try to get a trade out. So for these purposes, we know it's if. If they stick and pick, it's either love or it's the other edge, which it. Which it will be. Reese. So it's Love or Reese, then you have the history. Well, let's. Let's get into this. You're Austin for owner says I love. I love Jeremiah Love, but it's your decision. I hired you to do your job, and that's what a good owner does. Do your job. Who is it?
Todd McShay
Reese? I'm taking the edge.
Daniel Jeremiah
Are you worried about the history of A hundred percent. We've. We've brought in conversion players before. Isaiah Simmons being a great example. A day on Buchanan's a different deal, but still there's a third one that I keep forgetting that Darius Robinson was
Todd McShay
the defensive tackle size.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yes, sort of. So there's been first round guys that have not been. This is a specific role. And they've tried to convert or use in hybrid. Hybrids.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
That have not been worth the Value doesn't factor in.
Todd McShay
Oh, it does factor in. I just think that running back, I mean they have so many other issues. That running back at threes is too rich for me. As much as I really like the player, Jeremiah Love is the best player in this class. I think edges are more valued for good reason. They help you win football games quicker than a running back will. And I don't know if they're built to really have Jeremiah Love come in and hit the ground running. So to me, you take the edge, you take the safer pick. My question for you, other than that, do you want to talk about whether you would take Love or Reese? I want to know. Everyone in the world knows these guys want to trade out. They want to trade back. Would you take a less than market value deal to move back? Because that's. They might.
Daniel Jeremiah
You might have to take that. Absolutely. Within range.
Todd McShay
What's range? Give me a range.
Daniel Jeremiah
So here's what I'm concerned about. If I'm Monty Austin Ford. Okay. I'm concerned that there's. There's two offensive tackles that you believe can absolutely solve my problem. And that's assuming that you believe both can. In Francis, Maui Noah and Spencer Fano. Miami, Utah, respectively. It's draft week. Can't assume that. Everyone's watching.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
We got to make sure that we, we let everyone know. So there's two offensive tackles that are sitting there atop the board. Right. And then you have the question of beyond that and looking at their situation, obviously they just resigned. Paris Johnson at left tackle. We know that they brought in Isaac Sumalo. Now you've got Elijah Wilkinson at right tackle and Oli Udo like it's. They need a right tackle. We all know they need a right tackle.
Todd McShay
Yep.
Daniel Jeremiah
So Maui Noah and Fano are both veteran long time veterans at the right tackle position. 24 starts for Fano. And Ma, we know is a three year starter at Miami. After Fano played his first year. I think it was 11 or 12 starts at left tackle.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
So both are like. But there's Maui. No. The reason why these offensive tackles aren't in the Joe alt range. Or you go back to like we could go all the way back. But is because Maui Noah could be a guard. You worry about that a little bit. Better fit at guard. I don't think. I think he's a right tackle. So if you're asking me who I'm taking, I'm moving back with the hopes of getting Maui Noah. But can I move past six?
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
So Tennessee. Am I going to just move back one spot. Yeah, I'd do it.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
I don't care what you give me.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
If I don't want Reese and I want to move back, but then I'm still faced with him, I take him. Maui Noah, too. I don't view it as too high. It's like if I need to solidify my offensive line. But I do view it as this. There's Jeremiah Love, there's Arvell Reese, There's Sonny Styles, There's Caleb Downs, and there's Bailey in this class. And Bailey's gone. So on my board, the best four players are still sitting right there. I'm taking Fernando Mendoza out of this, obviously.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
Jeremiah Love, Reese Stiles and. And down.
Todd McShay
So who are you taking?
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm taking Arvell Reese. Okay. I'm taking Arvell Reese because I'm not prepared. I'm telling you, I have this offensive tackle issue.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
I want to move down, and I'm taking a bad deal to move down, but I can't move past.
Todd McShay
It's got to be. So it's got to be Tennessee.
Daniel Jeremiah
I can't move past six.
Todd McShay
No.
Daniel Jeremiah
I can move to five. But Giants aren't moving up.
Todd McShay
Nope.
Daniel Jeremiah
They don't. Cleveland's retreating if they can.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
But you got to assume Cleveland's gonna stay at 6, so. So if you're comfortable with both offensive tackles, I can go to seven and I can go to eight. I can't go to nine, because if I let Maui Noah or Fano get to andy Reid at 9, I gotta believe that they could take him. Even though they need an edge and a wide receiver.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
They could take them.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
So that's the move for Arizona. At the end of the day, I think you just stay and take the second best player on my board at a premium position. And that's Arvel Reese. And that's what you said, so maybe that's what they decide to do.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
Ownership throws a wrench. Number four, Tennessee. Here's the information. It was Jeremiah Love, then it wasn't Jeremiah Love. Right.
Todd McShay
Is it love again? Are we back in love?
Daniel Jeremiah
No, I'm told it's pass rusher or Sunny Styles at number number four.
Todd McShay
Okay.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Tennessee's number four is pass rusher or style. And the pass rusher would be Bailey and Reese. So in this situation, whether it's Arizona taking recent three or a team moving up it, and Reese goes three, if it goes Bailey, Reese, then. Then you're sitting there and I'm told it could Be Sunny Styles over Jeremiah Love. That's the information right now because of the Fred Warner in that system. Everyone I talk to in the league is like, yeah, we view it this way, but Salah is. I've even heard sort of like went into meetings, head coach. It's about like build the defense around the off ball linebacker. Right. So yeah.
Todd McShay
You know what's kind of interesting about that?
Daniel Jeremiah
What?
Todd McShay
Is we keep hearing that the Giants are out on Styles. Maybe that's because they know he's not going to be there. Maybe that's why the Styles. The Giants talk has all died down because now they think he's going for.
Daniel Jeremiah
I don't believe anything right now.
Todd McShay
I know this is. I'm just trying to put all these things together and I hear you like conspiracy theory wise. I feel like Charlie Day and always Sunny in Philadelphia with all the threads connecting and all that.
Daniel Jeremiah
The smart information is go back to. Honestly the combine. Yeah. And. And definitely go back to 10 days in prior when teams were still feeling this thing out rather than, you know. Yeah. Ping ponging off of leaked information. But more often than not is leaked for a reason.
Todd McShay
Do you like Styles there?
Daniel Jeremiah
No. I would take Jeremiah Love.
Todd McShay
Really?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. He's the best player on my board. I'm sitting at 4. I've got a quarterback that now I can get. I can throw him. I can throw him a screen pass and pick up six. I can, I can get him involved in the passing game. I got Pollard. We can keep each other healthy. I, I get it. I understand. But the, the edge rushers are gone.
Todd McShay
Right. That's what justifies it.
Daniel Jeremiah
Right. And I've got. I'm staring at Jacob Rodriguez and C.J. allen and Jake Galde in the second round.
Todd McShay
Good players, good player, good values in that range. Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
And I absolutely. You know how much I love Sonny Styles. Got a third on my board, but I got a young quarterback, man.
Todd McShay
Would you get Carnell Tate there? Would you consider it?
Daniel Jeremiah
No, no, I'm kind of. He's safer. He's. He's really. He's going to be a really good player, but I don't know that he's ever going to be this like A.J. brown. JSN. I don't think he's.
Todd McShay
That it makes sense in this situation. Like, I don't love the running back that early, but he's the best player in this class. And the two edges that you would take, I mean if Reese or Bailey are there. We both agree that it's one of those guys, right?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yes.
Todd McShay
But in this situation, they're not there. And as much as I love Sonny Stiles and think he's one of the top five players in the draft, he's an off ball linebacker. I'd rather take Jeremiah Love to. I think it does surprise me when you do this though, because you're just, you're, you're not as bad as Mel Kuiper, who would never take a running back in the first round. But this is early for a running back.
Daniel Jeremiah
I've never had a running back number one on my board.
Todd McShay
So there you go. So the Giants.
Daniel Jeremiah
So the Giants. This is the interesting part, right? So here's the information. The information is now all of a sudden, again, it's Jeremiah Love. Right. I've got to assume it's Styles based off the information, despite where we're going. So let's, let's live in a world where it's Mendoza, Bailey, Reese Styles off the board. Okay. And also our top four players on the board. So you're sitting there at number five and you're the Giants. No, I said no, not Love. So Love is still available, the number one player. Right.
Todd McShay
You switched it because you believe Styles is going to Tennessee.
Daniel Jeremiah
Correct.
Todd McShay
Even though we would go in a different direction.
Daniel Jeremiah
Correct. Okay, so Jeremiah Love is on the board. Right. Jordan Tyson, who you just made this trip, is on the board. Caleb Downs is on the board. Right. Francis Maui Noah is on the board. Here's the interesting part for the Giants. Okay? I'm getting used to these new cameras. As you can probably tell if you're watching on Netflix or you're watching on Spotify. I the red always means it's on, but there's green on the other one. So I'm going to go green. But now I'm back to red, so I gotta follow the red. So I'm retraining my brain. So we're gonna go red here. Wait, it's gonna go red there, but then we'll go single shot back to red. So here we go. So Shane part is fascinating because how much power does he ultimately have in this? And Joe Shane, for all of his faults, managed the hell out of the 2026 NFL Draft. Okay, pick the perfect spot to go get Jackson dart after Abdul Carter. And I know all the nonsense that went on in the background more than I, a lot. But they nailed it. You were looking at another situation. But you could also say, well, the last time they had two top 10 picks didn't quite nail it. Todd Thibodeau and Neil. Right. So there's all that. But now you've got to manage this thing because we know they like Jordan Tyson. The Giants are not one of those teams that hide their interest. They. They went out to Arizona for a second time, sent Shane out there. They love Jordan Tyson. But there's also that downs factor at the safety position with Harbaugh. Okay. And I'm told they really like downs then I'm told recently. And do we trust recent information? Jeremiah Love. But you can't go Jeremiah Love and then Jordan Tyson because Jordan Tyson ain't going to be there at 10. And I got news for you. Downs very well may not be there at 10, but could be better shot that he's there at 10. So if I'm Joe Shane, I'm looking at this from a managerial standpoint and I'm trying to work with Harbaugh and Harbaugh's, from my understanding, getting the last trigger on things.
Todd McShay
But what's our best one, too?
Daniel Jeremiah
But I don't even know that you can look at it as a one two, because what's our best one? That's what I'm trying to say. Looking at our board, our situation, our roster.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
Is it taken Jordan Tyson, even though it's higher than what you'd like to at wide receiver, is it taken down? Caleb Downs at safety, is it taking Francis, Maui Noah at tackle. I wouldn't do it because I think you get four guys we talked about yesterday.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
To fill one spot, figure it out, coach it, coach it up. Or take another guy in the third and try to help them. Or is it. Who did I not mention there?
Todd McShay
I think you got them all.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Love. Tyson Downs, Maui Noah.
Todd McShay
Yeah, it's love. Jordan Tyson. I. I love the tape. I worry about the durability concerns. It's too early. Caleb Downs, I love the player, but for safety, that's just too early. So. And then Francis Mountain Noah, like, are we going to talk about the fact that he might have a hurt? He has reporting of a herniated disc. And now there's just one more layer to that evaluation, so. And again, like you said, there's bodies there. They have players there. Jermaine Illuminor is coming back. A right tackle. They don't need a right tackle. They need a guard. I think now you could, you could fill that knee by kicking a luminor inside. I understand all of that. But then you have Jeremiah Love and you have a young running back in Scatter Boo who's coming off an injury and has, you know, I don't I think reckless is the wrong word for his running style, but it is a very aggressive, physical runner that's more likely to. To get hurt, unfortunately, and I hope that's not the case. But we, you know that that's the reality. And you have this unbelievable talent at running back that can come in and help your quarterback by not only improving the ground game, but also being a weapon in the receiving game. And one of the things we've talked about with Jeremiah Love, that I don't think it's enough attention is the leap that he made as a pass blocker over the last year. He was so talented in 2024, 2025, he was a different person in pass protection. He just got way better. You're adding all of these things. I mean, that just makes me more comfortable. Again, the offensive line is not as big as a need. Jordan Tyson, the injuries too early, and Caleb Downs a safety too early. So it comes down to Jeremiah Love.
Daniel Jeremiah
I AM Absolutely, positively, 100% taking Jeremiah Love here at number five. And I'm going to make that the establishment. The establishment is we've got a strong offensive line that we've been trying to build for years and we're going to line up and we're going to punch you in the mouth. We got two backs that can beat you and one's got four, three, six speed. The other one is a pounder and
Todd McShay
is just what a great complimentary backfield that could be.
Daniel Jeremiah
And then we're going to take pressure off of Jackson dart there and, and let's see who's available at 10. Maybe it's still Maui Noah. Maybe it's Fano.
Todd McShay
Maybe it's down.
Daniel Jeremiah
Maybe it's down.
Todd McShay
Yes.
Daniel Jeremiah
We'll work that out later. I'm taking the best player in this year's draft with the number 5 overall pick. See you at pick 10. Yep. No question about it. And honestly, that's what the, that is what the information is in the league. Not necessarily that the Giants will absolutely take love at five, although it is the recent information. But the, the information is more is more. So he ain't getting out of the top five.
Todd McShay
So remember Harbaugh in, in Baltimore had good backfields and then they had injuries hit the backfield. I mean they lost multiple running backs in one season. He might want to sit. He's going to say to himself, we need more than one or two. We need depth.
Daniel Jeremiah
There.

Daniel Jeremiah
All right, so we have Cleveland at six. We all know that they would like to trade back for the same thing and and I've heard from Maui Noah to Fo to Proctor and I don't know if Proctor, like Proctor could be the surprise because Cleveland's capable of anything. The 6 overall pick. There are people in the league that are a lot higher on pro on Caleb Proctor.
Todd McShay
Kaden Proctor.
Daniel Jeremiah
Kaden Proctor. Not Caleb Proctor. Who? The defensive tackle from Southeast Louisiana who's probably going to be a top 100 pick around 94.
Todd McShay
Love it.
Daniel Jeremiah
Kaden Proctor from Alabama fits the analytical portion of it with the longer arms and he did everything at the combine and he is big and traits matter at tackle and the flying J. The analytics from DP D Podesto to and it's this is what they do. Right. I'm not saying he's going to be the pick there. It could very well be Maui Noah who didn't work out at the combine like right. But it's going to be an offensive tackle if they stick there. I don't even think I have to ask you who you would take. You would take Spencer Fano. Yeah.
Todd McShay
And I would. I wouldn't even look back.
Daniel Jeremiah
You think he's the best offensive tackle in the class? I think is I think honestly if I'm, if I'm a gap scheme, if I'm like Power O. I'm gonna line up with Maui Noah if I want to be a zone. Wide zone. And like, Utah's offense was wild, man. Like tackles pulling out on screens. And it was. It is. Yeah, it was a wild ride.
Todd McShay
So Fono's also played on the left side, so I. I like that aspect of it because I think they need. I think they need a left tackle. So, you know, it's not that I don't think Maui Noah can do that. And it is an. It's abnormal for a guy with arms that are that short. I mean, we talked about Will Campbell last year and how short his arms were. Well, Spencer Fonda's arms were a half inch shorter than Will Campbell's at the combine.
Daniel Jeremiah
So that's.
Todd McShay
That's what we're talking about. But the athletic profile is of a left tackle. The way he moves is like a left tackle.
Daniel Jeremiah
We got Monk in there, like with Georgia. Think about the Georgia off the Georgia offensive linemen that come out who actually test really well. Bigger guys test well.
Todd McShay
But we're talking about.
Daniel Jeremiah
We're talking about Baltimore.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
Maui Noah.
Todd McShay
Yeah, we're talking about.
Daniel Jeremiah
It's Maui Noah.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
Glad we solved that.
Todd McShay
That's one we can count on.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, but they could also trade out because. Right, but. Yeah. So Cleveland. And they'll get their wide receiver later. There will be a wide receiver at 24. Those receivers are going to go, but they're going to go after the offensive tackles and some of the edges and the two safeties and all of that. So there's that. So we both agree, like, as the gm, you got to look at. Okay, Todd, what do you need? Monkey net. Is not myself enough. You know, third. What is it speaking myself in third person.
Todd McShay
Yeah. Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
So Monkin, you want Maui Noah? Fine. You get Maui Noah. Got it. That. That solidifies the offensive line. Now we get to wide receiver at 24.
Todd McShay
Right, right.
Daniel Jeremiah
And there's going to be concept. Casey Concepcion or. And. Or Denzel Boston and. OR Omar Cooper Jr. Yeah, those are the three names. The and ors. Those are the three and ors at wide receiver.
Todd McShay
I mean, there's an Omar. Do you say Omar Cooper Jr. Yeah. You did?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Okay, so that's what. That's how they're going to manage this draft is. Is everyone's understanding and it's the right way to manage it. So at seven, we get to Washington. Styles went three, Right?
Todd McShay
Yep.
Daniel Jeremiah
Sorry. Four. So in this situation, we've got Mendoza going one to the Raiders, obviously, Bailey two to the Jets. Three is Reese to the Cardinals. Four is Tennessee taking Styles to be their Fred Warner. Five is the Giants to of six is Maui Noah. This is actually how this could thing could wind up working out. Seven is Washington Sunny Styles is not sitting there. Caleb Downs is there and Carnell Tate are the two. There's been a lot of talk about Tyson there. I'm told I was told a while ago they're a tape team.
Todd McShay
Yeah, we're take guys.
Daniel Jeremiah
Well, David Blau, if you look at I actually did was looking into David Blau and what he wants to do. He's looking for physical rece guys like Carnell Tate. I can simplify it for that. The description of what he's looking for in his first year's offensive coordinator surprise decision. Either a big mistake or they got ahead of someone who's going to be an absolute star in this league. Obviously pulling for the ladder. Yeah. But he wants a big physical receiver. Carnell Tate is. Is a big physical receiver, right? Yeah. And so that's. That would be a perfect complement to a former. Another former Ohio statewide receiver. What would we do? Because I'm told it's that it comes down to Downs and Tate. But I want the. To give you the honest to God truth. The last conversation I had was very authoritative and that was this pick will be defense. Quinn has got it. What's the word I want to look. It is priority. Is a. Is too light a word. It is. It's a. It's a demand.
Todd McShay
Mandate.
Daniel Jeremiah
It's a mandate.
Todd McShay
Thank you.
Daniel Jeremiah
My brain doesn't work that well this week. It's a mandate that. That we get that defense fixed and we'll give you the resources. But if it's Caleb Downs and that it's got to be Caleb down.
Todd McShay
Monsore Delane from lsu maybe could be.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm. This is the information portion of it it in this scenario it would be Downs or Tate. But I'm told defense is going to win out with this pick. So I would expect if Sonny Styles is not there, it's going to be downs. Now I'm asking you with Styles off the board and Delane is there and Tate is there and Tyson is there and. But I think we can rule out Tyson because it won't fit what offensive coordinator is looking for. So it's Downs and it's Tate and it's. It's Delane.
Todd McShay
I'm taking Tate. You got to get Jane Daniels another playmaker. And as much as I like Jordan Tyson and think that he could be the best receiver in this class, if he's healthy and didn't have injury history, that's just not the case. He.
Daniel Jeremiah
He does.
Todd McShay
I mean, he's had a hard time staying healthy. And to me, the risk versus reward there isn't good enough for me to pull the trigger on Jordan Tyson. I'm taking Carnell Tate. You've had success with another Ohio State receiver and Terry McLaren. Bring in this guy. And I know it's a different leadership group, but bring in Tate, you get that weapon on the outside. There's no such thing as a safe pick, but I like the risk versus reward of Tate there. You stay in defense.
Daniel Jeremiah
Caleb Downs is in a different class of. And. And it's. You look at the board and you're like, well, you have Downs at five, and you've got Tate at seven.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
I mean, there. You know me with my tears, right?
Todd McShay
He's a different bucket. Yeah, different.
Daniel Jeremiah
Different tier. I'm taking Tate, too. I am. I am. I believe. I believe this organization. It. Now, if Downs was an edge rusher or even like an interior defensive lineman, I'm not talking team specific here. I'm talking like. Like, that would trump it for me. But we're talking about a safety versus a receiver. And you just look at the.
Todd McShay
The.
Daniel Jeremiah
The annual. You know, the top five paid at each position. It's not even close. Like, safety's near the bottom. Wide receivers, number three only behind quarterback and edge. And I can't let my. I just can't let my franchise quarterback, who already is coming off a year of injury, be in a situation where he doesn't have the tools he needs to be successful. So I would take Carnell Tate.
Todd McShay
Yeah, I agree.
Daniel Jeremiah
And I actually wouldn't blink, even though there's. There's a difference in grade, and it's slight, and it looks like a 93 to a 92, but in my mind, that. That's something. Yeah, I'm taking carnotape. All right. But I think just for the folks at home, I think that that could be Downs.
Todd McShay
So are we going with Downs off being off the board?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Okay, now you get to number eight. They got Tate. They get Tyson, they get Bane. The New Orleans Saints do, and this is what they want. If they don't have to trade up to go get a guy in this situation, it's Tate, Tyson Bain, and. Oh, and Monster Delaney.
Todd McShay
Yeah, this is the. This is the delaying range. I think. I think seven might be a little too early, but we're getting in right now. This is when I would Start to look for him to come off the board. The corner from lsu.
Daniel Jeremiah
I don't disagree. That's the intel. It's, it's Tate, Tate and Tyson. It's Delane and Bane and Mention's getting calls right now from the league. No, I, I, It's not dissimilar from what I just said. Except now we've got an edge in there for. And I know the importance of that position. Brandon. Brendan Staley. Brandon Staley needs like an explosive get off guy. He also needs a Monsour Delane. Exactly. To a T. But I'm looking at Chris Olave and, and I gotcha.
Todd McShay
I, you, you don't even say it.
Daniel Jeremiah
The V. Yeah. With his 25 catches a year ago. And I'm like, I don't know what. How do I roll? How do I roll a guy out there. How do I roll a guy out there with a lava in that. And so that, that's the frustrating part for me. Right. I'm looking at New Orleans and they pick, they pick again at 42 and 73. They get eight picks overall and one each round.
Todd McShay
That's what I was just gonna chalk.
Daniel Jeremiah
So now I gotta look at this as a combo pick in the second round. There's going to be a run of these corners. Yep. And you're gonna have like the Avion Terrell's and the d' Angelo ponds and Brandon's. Brandon C. Brandon C. Say we think
Todd McShay
Chris Johnson will be gone at that point.
Daniel Jeremiah
Chris Johnson will probably be gone at that point. Jamad McCoy if he falls it's only. But it won't be that far. It'll be because of the knee. Colton Hood will be gone. Yeah. So. But there, there will be a couple corners when we pick again that would be worth the value. There'll be a couple edges worth the value. There will be a couple receivers like there will be.
Todd McShay
Yep. That's what I like. I like you need a receiver.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'll take Carnell Tate here again.
Todd McShay
You would?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah.
Todd McShay
I like getting a delay, a monsoon delaying right now and then getting a Jeremy Bernard a stribling in that second round rage. That's a better, better combo for me than the corner you're going to get in the beginning of the second. I think I, what I'm basically saying is that I like the depth at corner more. I mean a receiver more than I do at corner. And I am very high on Monsor Delaney.
Daniel Jeremiah
But they're pick, they're picking a 42 and to get. I'm picking at 42. And so you're looking at Chris Bell, Stribling Bernard. Those guys.
Todd McShay
Yep.
Daniel Jeremiah
Or you're looking at Avion, Terrell, Brandon, Sissy Ponds, d' Angelo Pons. Yeah. Yeah.
Todd McShay
I like getting the corner now, but
Daniel Jeremiah
I also need an edge.
Todd McShay
I know. That's. That's.
Daniel Jeremiah
That's where it's like Malachi Lawrence, our Mason.
Todd McShay
Thomas Akis, maybe.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. But. Yeah. Yeah,
Todd McShay
I think the lane's different than the rest of the corners in the class. You're getting the top player at the position. Although Reuben Bain Jr. Would be really, really tempting to me.
Daniel Jeremiah
The beauty is New Orleans kind of can't go wrong here. They're going to get a great football player here.
Todd McShay
It feels like if you take receiver, you're. You're not reaching. I'm not saying that you're reaching, but I feel like there's better players, maybe available.
Daniel Jeremiah
Honest to God. You know what I'm doing? I'm taking. I'm taking Reuben Bane. Okay.
Todd McShay
I'm fine with that.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm taking Reuben Bane because I can get a corner down the line. And honestly, my corners, a lot of times are only as good as my. My safeties, unless they're transcendent. And I think Monsor Delane is really, really good. I don't know that. He's not Patrick Surtan. He's. We'll see. Yeah, he's. No, he's not.
Todd McShay
He's not built like that. That's true.
Daniel Jeremiah
I'm talking the transcendent guys, you know, so I'm taking the edge. Even though. Yeah, I'm taking the edge there, but I don't know which. I honestly don't know which direction they're gonna go.
Todd McShay
They have. It's a good problem for them to have.
Daniel Jeremiah
It's a great.
Todd McShay
I mean, if you're choosing between Delane Bane Jr. And Carnell Tate, the B, the board has fallen your way.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Sounds like Tater. No, it sounds like Tater Tyson could be the. Could be the pick there, though.
Todd McShay
Okay.
Daniel Jeremiah
But, yeah,
Todd McShay
you're taking Tate over Tyson, though, right?
Daniel Jeremiah
I. Yeah, I am, personally. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Kansas City's nine. I'm hearing this. Edge. Bane if available, or wide receiver. Tyson if available.
Todd McShay
No offensive tackle.
Daniel Jeremiah
But Andy's saying we got to get that. We got to address that. So maybe they feel like they can
Todd McShay
move up a little bit in the. At the end of the first round. I don't know.
Daniel Jeremiah
That would be my guess. Okay. Is that we then make a move to go up. If you're Kansas City that's how. So who do we give? Who do we give to New Orleans?
Todd McShay
We didn't.
Daniel Jeremiah
Tyson. I think. I think Tyson would wind up maybe being the pick.
Todd McShay
Okay, Mark comes out tomorrow. Let's see how many changes there are.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. Kansas City. Bain. My intel is Bane, if he's here, or wide receiver. So we're going to give him Bane.
Todd McShay
I would.
Daniel Jeremiah
And I would. I'd take Bane too.
Todd McShay
Yeah. I mean, I think that is as easy a pick as you can make.
Daniel Jeremiah
So Tyson goes eight, Bane goes nine. So now you're the Giants. And we talked about this before. Tyson's gone. Downs is gone to seven. Washington. I've heard Yoana.
Todd McShay
That makes sense to me.
Daniel Jeremiah
Me too.
Todd McShay
Yeah. Makes sense to me more than Maui Noah.
Daniel Jeremiah
And Maui Noah's gone six. Anyway, it makes more sense than Fano. Yeah. Yeah, it actually does.
Todd McShay
Yeah. For what Harbaugh does. That mentality. And they need a guard more than a tackle, I believe.
Daniel Jeremiah
It's funny, like I said in the top of this thing, why don't you just go back to the combine, Todd, when you were having real conversations with people and just looking at the. This board and you'd watch the tape and then you go back and you watch more tape and it only confirms that Love and Reese and Styles and Caleb Downs and Bailey are the best football players in this class. And there's a second tier and it's Carnell Tate and it's Monsour Delaine and it's Mansour Delan, and it's Jordan Tyson, Spencer Fano. It's Reuben Bane and it's Venga Yan. And quite honestly, Yan is right in the fringe of that first tier and the second tier.
Todd McShay
For me, the only knock on him is he's not as athletic as, you know, some of the elite prospects. But watch the tape, man.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, he's damn good. All right. Eleven. Eleven's Miami. Honest to God, it's.
Todd McShay
Who's literally the best player available?
Daniel Jeremiah
What's our board? Yep. Him. Is there an offensive lineman or defensive line? Can we keep it on the fronts? Same grade. Okay, let's take the. Let's take the offensive line.
Todd McShay
Okay.
Daniel Jeremiah
All right. Yep. Turn it in. Yep. Thanks. That's John Eric Sullivan. Yeah, that's my impersonation of. Of John Eric. Solid. Why?
Todd McShay
Because they need everything.
Daniel Jeremiah
They need everything. And. And they are setting themselves up rightfully so. And I'm pulling for the guy and I'm pulling for Jeff Halfley and I. I think they're really good at what they do, respectively. But they got Their hands full. Unlike many other situations I've ever seen in this league, we're from a roster standpoint, but you know how quickly you can turn this thing around when you start hitting like that. Yeah. The Dallas Cowboys with the Aikman and the Emmett and the. Yep. Like that. They were a disaster. And then bang. So you can do the same thing in this day and age of football.
Todd McShay
They got 11 picks.
Daniel Jeremiah
They got 11 picks and they've got four in the third, one in the second. So the seven of those 11 are in the first three rounds. First hundred players in this draft pick wisely and pick the best, you know? Yeah. So who's the best on our board?
Todd McShay
Delane.
Daniel Jeremiah
So. So you take Delane. Yeah. Truly, that's who we would take, right?
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
Because Love's gone. Reese is gone. Styles is gone. Obviously. Mendoza's gone. Caleb Downs is gone. Bailey was gone at 2. Carnell Tate was just gone a couple picks earlier to do. We give tape to anyone?
Todd McShay
Oh, do we not?
Daniel Jeremiah
We didn't. This went Mendoza, Bailey, Reese. Mendoza, Bailey. Reese Styles to Tennessee Giants was Jeremiah Love. Yep. Maui Noah went six. Downs went seven. Tyson went eight. Bane went nine. Yep. And Yoana went ten.
Todd McShay
So card I'll take.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, take them. Yeah.
Todd McShay
I mean, they have a knee there.
Daniel Jeremiah
Absolutely. But you could. You could argue Delane. Yeah. And Maui Noah is still on the board, right? No, Maui knows six. So Fano is still on the board.
Todd McShay
Yep.
Daniel Jeremiah
I could see them going Fano.
Todd McShay
Right.
Daniel Jeremiah
Just FYI. Okay, so let's do two more picks. 12. That was 12, right?
Todd McShay
No, that was 11.
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah, 11. So what do we. So right now, left on the board at 12 for Dallas is Mansour Delane. Turn it in. It's over. Yeah.
Todd McShay
Yeah.
Daniel Jeremiah
There's nobody else. No. They don't need Fano. They don't. And Bane is gone.
Todd McShay
Bane's gone too, right?
Daniel Jeremiah
Yeah. So. So that's Monsoon Delane. Thirteen is the. We're sitting there with the Rams.
Todd McShay
This is where it gets interesting.
Daniel Jeremiah
I think Les Snead is a wild card on Thursday night match five stars.
Todd McShay

This episode dives deep into the top-12 picks of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, offering both what league insiders expect to happen—and what analysts Todd McShay and guest Daniel Jeremiah would do if they were in the GM’s chair. They compare league “intel” with personal evaluations, debate key prospects, and break down the first dozen picks pick-by-pick, exploring the decision-making logic of each team and each spot on the board.
Their approach isn’t just rumor-mongering—they make clear distinctions between what’s likely vs what’s ideal in their eyes, reflecting on how front office politics, shifting draft boards, and recent trends affect each selection.

The episode is lively, authentic, and at times self-deprecating (“I feel like Charlie Day…”). Both hosts openly challenge and cross-examine one another’s picks, modeling the debate inside real war rooms. They separate gossip from grounded rumor, and their mock is a blend of “what’s likely” and “what’s optimal.” For draft fans, it’s a crash course in both league logic and the value of sticking to your board.
