Foreign. Welcome to Meat Eater Trivia, the only game show where conservation always wins and there is a prize. Meat eater will donate 500 to the Conservation organization of the winner's choosing. I'm your host, Spencer Newarth and today we're joined by Giannis Randall, Brody, Seth Alex and Bobby Classen. This is a 10 round quiz show with questions from meat eaters. Four verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation and cooking. Meat Eaters. Meat Eater trivia is brought to you by one of my favorite beers, Bush Light. Head for the mountains. Bobby, this is your first time on the show. Tell folks what you do here at Meat Eater. I am the assistant controller here at Meat Eater.
Phil the Engineer
Sorry, Bobby, it's your first time. You gotta beat up on the money. Kissing that microphone right here. Thank you.
Spencer Newarth
What does a controller mean?
Randall Williams
Yeah, I've always wondered this.
Spencer Newarth
I control the money. Assistant controller of the money. Okay, that's it.
Phil the Engineer
That's it.
Spencer Newarth
Okay, Bobby. Strengths and weaknesses when it comes to meat eater trivia. Hunting, fishing, conservation, cooking. Hope I don't eat these words. Strength is probably fishing. I was a fishing guide in the past. Oh, we're at here out of Big Sky. Okay.
Phil the Engineer
Trout for your guiding.
Spencer Newarth
Trout for trout.
Randall Williams
Yep.
Spencer Newarth
Gallatin and Madison, mostly. Hunting is probably going to be my weak point. All right, we'll find out Here we got 10 questions to learn more about Bobby's wisdom. We have a mailbag question to start today's show. If you have a question you want the crew to answer, send your question to Trivia at the meat eater.com the subject line mailbag. This is from Clark Newsom. I'm going on my first elk Hunt this September in Tennessee and looking to buy some gear. If I could only buy a single first light top for the hunt. What would be your choice? Yanni, what's your recommendation to Clark? September Tennessee elk.
Giannis Patelis
I believe we have that piece called the approach hoodie. Now it has a built in face mask.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Giannis Patelis
It's like a light to mid weight synthetic. That's what I'd be in in September.
Spencer Newarth
If you're gonna give Clark another recommendation or two, what would be like your top three, you think?
Giannis Patelis
Then I'd probably just go with the merino quarter, zip the wick sleeves on that.
Randall Williams
Or no,
Giannis Patelis
in September in Tennessee I'd probably cut them off. You know, just keep the core warm, make it more breathable. Give Clark one more and one more. Probably the. The just the hooded wick.
Spencer Newarth
Any. Any other recommendations in the room for Clark?
Giannis Patelis
I'd get a pair of gators to keep the ticks off your pants.
Spencer Newarth
I bet that is some ticky country there.
Randall Williams
In September, I would say it's tough to recommend base layers because one man's body in The Humidity in high 70s, low 80s of Tennessee in September. Not the same as another man's body, but I would say the navigator.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Randall Williams
It's a nice. Like when it cools down. That weighs nothing. A lot of insulation value for the weight. I think that'd be a really nice piece.
Spencer Newarth
Brody, what do you think? I'd just go with the old school kiln because it's very versatile. You can use it for like just the outside layer. You'd use it for a mid layer. Like it's just a good piece all around. All right, a lot of recommendations there, Clark. Good luck with that elk hunt.
Randall Williams
Sweaty.
Spencer Newarth
We have some housekeeping elk in Tennessee. He says he's doing his first elk hunt.
Giannis Patelis
I thought it was deer. Hold on. That changes. All right, all right, I'm kidding.
Spencer Newarth
You have anything to add then?
Giannis Patelis
No, thanks.
Randall Williams
All I can just think about is sweating, that's all. Yeah, I just keep thinking about sweat.
Giannis Patelis
Sounds hot.
Spencer Newarth
We have some crew news. Giannis is holding an event at the Milwaukee meat eater store. Johnny tell folks about it?
Giannis Patelis
Oh, he could. Our buddy that we just answered the question for. He could come visit. Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
Fly up to Milwaukee.
Giannis Patelis
Up to Milwaukee? It's June. July. What's the date?
Spencer Newarth
July 30th.
Giannis Patelis
July 30th. Almost the last day of the month. I believe it's pretty close. Is it the 31st? I can't remember how many days July has. I'm not good at that game. Guy like A controller, probably. Easily. He knows big numbers guy.
Randall Williams
The thing. It falls into the. All the rest have 31 if I did the rhyme right.
Giannis Patelis
But yeah, I'm gonna be doing an elk seminar. So an hour of me just yakking about what I know about hunting elk. And we're gonna do an hour of Q and A and then an hour of hanging out and BSing.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Giannis Patelis
At the Milwaukee Stor.
Spencer Newarth
What? Five, five thirty.
Giannis Patelis
Five.
Spencer Newarth
Five o'? Clock?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah. If you're listening to this on the day it drops, it's tomorrow. Whoa.
Giannis Patelis
Oh, yes. So you're gonna have to be in the vicinity.
Randall Williams
If you're in Tennessee, get in your car right now.
Giannis Patelis
You might make it. You're in Wisconsin. You can wait till tomorrow and drive on.
Spencer Newarth
What are you gonna teach people? If I was there, what would I learn?
Giannis Patelis
Oh, man, I'm trying to really frame it, you know, from a guy that's maybe never done gone into elk hunt and lives in Wisconsin now and trying to really push them towards, you know, pulling the trigger and taking that step to do it. So trying to just make it seem like it is something that's attainable to them and make simplify it all, you know.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Giannis Patelis
That's my goal.
Spencer Newarth
That is an elk hunting seminar with Giannis. Thursday, July 30th at 5:00pm it's the Milwaukee Meat Eater store at the corners of Brookfield. All right, the Shelby index for today is a three. So our winner should get six correct answers. And with that, we're on to the game of trivia. Play the drop, Phil. Look, I need to know what I stand to win.
T-Mobile Advertiser Voice
Everything.
Spencer Newarth
How's that? Just tend to win everything. Game on, suckers. Question 1. The topic is wildlife. This will be multiple choice and this first great question is via John Schlesinger. One of our trivia question, goats. What percentage of mammals are nocturnal? Is it 30%, 50%, 70% or 90%? What percentage of mammals are nocturnal? 30%. 50, 70, 90.
Randall Williams
That's a wild question.
Spencer Newarth
That is a wild question. A wide spectrum of answers. Feel like we could see all four answers today. What percentage of mammals are nocturnal? 30%. 50%. 70%, 90%. This is a stat via National Geographic.
Randall Williams
A3 today.
Spencer Newarth
3. It's a tough round. What percentage of mammals are nocturnal? 30%. 50%. 70%, 90%. Brody, are you ready?
Randall Williams
Was she bummed out by that?
Giannis Patelis
Shelby was in?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Giannis Patelis
Come on, Brody.
Spencer Newarth
Things along here. Sure, I'm ready. No, because she like kind of. It was. It was like a one, I think going into the final three questions. I think she got two of the last three and so she felt relieved that she had three. Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says 70. Bobby, 30. Randall, 30. Alex, 30. Giannis, 30. Brody, 70. The correct answer is 70%. Brody and Seth got that one right. It's estimated that 70% of mammals are nocturnal, 20% are diurnal, 8% have irregular activity and 2% are crepuscular. The International Dark Sky Discovery center says that some nocturnal animals are in decline because of human lighting practices. They recommend limiting unnecessary outdoor lights as it can interfere with animal migrations, courtship and pollinating.
Randall Williams
Name them.
Spencer Newarth
The 70%.
Randall Williams
Yeah, name them.
Spencer Newarth
Well, I'll name 10 for you. Seven of them are going to be nocturnal. Here's question to the top of the conservation. The Wild Sheep Foundation's sheep show is held every year in this city. The room has their swagger back. This whole side is very confident. Seth and Randall look like they have it. Bobby, do you think you have this one? This is a total guess. Topic is conservation. The Wild Sheep foundation sheep show is held every year in this city.
Giannis Patelis
I haven't been yet. You've been a few times.
Randall Williams
I'm still driving.
Giannis Patelis
That's not true because we went and did it. We. We did a. You're still drying out. We went and did a trivia there. All that podcast there once.
Spencer Newarth
Oh, yeah, I think attendance there early. Early meeting the crowd. I assume you had been there like three or four times by now, Yanni.
Phil the Engineer
That was like eight years ago or something.
Spencer Newarth
Randall, how many times you been?
Randall Williams
Oh, five.
Spencer Newarth
Damn.
Randall Williams
It's a good time.
Spencer Newarth
Okay, is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says Reno. Bobby says Bozeman. The rest of the room says Reno. The correct answer is Reno, Nevada.
Randall Williams
I almost said it's a great time of year to be in Reno. Almost blew it.
Spencer Newarth
The next sheep show will be held February 3rd to February 6th, 2027. It will be their 50th sheep show. There are dozens of big game tags that are given out via auctions and raffles at the event, with about 90% of the funds going back to state agencies. And the two most expensive auctions at the 2024 Sheep show were for bighorn tags in Colorado and New Mexico. They sold for $600,000 each. Question 3. The topic is fishing. This next great question is via Brian Parks. The alliterative phrase, quote red right blank refers to how boats should navigate marked waterways. Didn't even finish the question. And Randall had his answer. Captain Randall expired. Captain Randall, the alliterative Phrase red right blank refers to how boats should navigate marked waterways. Yanni, do you have this one right?
Giannis Patelis
Yes, sir. I was taught this by the same man that sent you those devil's pocketbooks.
Spencer Newarth
Oh, okay. Very nice. Gift from Yanni's father in law, who Yanni was wildly complimentary of. I said, how is he as a father in law? And Yanni said, perfect. Those were his words. Sent me some mermaids purses.
Randall Williams
I'm still trying to think of a nocturnal mammal other than bats.
Giannis Patelis
I have a lot of questions, like, do we count as that? Because we operate around the clock, I
Spencer Newarth
would guess we're either part of the 20% that's diurnal or the 8% that's irregular.
Randall Williams
I'm crepuscular.
Giannis Patelis
You are not.
Randall Williams
I am.
Spencer Newarth
So he's most active?
Randall Williams
Yeah, I'm kind of. During the day, it's just a big.
Giannis Patelis
Come dinner time, you get a couple little upswings, huh?
Randall Williams
Yeah. Coffee and then happy hour.
Spencer Newarth
The alliterative phrase red right blank refers to how boats should navigate marked waterways. It's tough to be crepuscular in the summertime when happy hour falls, like four hours before sunset.
Randall Williams
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
Yeah, still figuring that one out. Red right blank. Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says green. Is that what that says?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
Bobby says right. Randall, return. Alex, ready. Giannis, return. Brody, without an answer. The correct answer is return or returning. Red right returning means that you should keep red channel markers on your right when returning to a harbor. That means if you're leaving the harbor, then you should keep green markers on your right instead. This rule applies to waters in North America, South America, Japan and South Korea. But for those in Europe, Australia or Africa, it is red left returning. Oh, so if you're in those international.
Randall Williams
Did you get the first one right?
Giannis Patelis
No.
Spencer Newarth
Nice question. For the topic is hunting. Willie Robertson, Jason Aldean and friend of the show, Luke Bryan are among the crew members of this Duck Commander spin off that focuses on Big Game. Willie Robertson, Jason Aldean, and my favorite country artist, Luke Bryan are among the crew members of this duck commander spin off that focuses on big Game. Now, are you being facetious there, Spencer?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
I mean, if. If Luke were to ever turn on this show, which I'm guessing has not happened, there were two episodes where he would feel a little bullied. I think probably the one where I declared one of his songs the worst. What's going to happen when you guys, like, run into each other in airport parking lot? I don't think anything will happen.
Giannis Patelis
Is he the type of personality that likes to have, like, public confrontations and have someone record it or that? Not him?
Spencer Newarth
I don't know about that, but he will, like, respond to Instagram comments. The last time we talked about one of his hunting or fishing songs, we read some of the Instagram comments that he was responding to people who were critical of him with Willie Robertson, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan are among the crew members that of this Duck Commander spinoff that focuses on Big Game. Randall, do you have this one right?
Randall Williams
I don't think so. I know it somewhere, but I'm not getting anywhere.
Spencer Newarth
Seth, you have this one right?
Phil the Engineer
I think so.
Spencer Newarth
Have you watched this show, you think?
Giannis Patelis
Yes.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Randall Williams
Because I remember hearing this fact at one point and sort of being astounded, just blown away and then forgot about it.
Spencer Newarth
Willie Robertson, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan are among the crew members of this Duck Commander spin off that focuses on Big game. Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says, Buck Commander. Bobby, Buck Commander. Randall, Buck Commander. And then he put in parentheses, bony Brigade.
Randall Williams
I wanted that one. I wanted that to be my answer, but this is the real one.
Spencer Newarth
Okay. Alex without an answer. Yanni, Buck Commander. Brody, Buck Commander. The correct answer is Buck Commander. Buck commander started in 2007 and is currently on their 15th season. Their crew of Buckman include country singers Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean and baseball players Adam LaRoche, Ryan Langerhans and Tumbo Martin. Their sister brands include Duck Commander, Strut Commander and Fin Commander.
Randall Williams
Wow.
Spencer Newarth
Whole franchise. Good brand. Question 5. The topic is woodsmanship. This is our listener question of the week, which was won by Aaron Campbell for sending this great question. Aaron is going to get a $150 first light gift card. If you want a chance to win the listener question of the week, then send your questions to trivia@the meater.com Vault, toilet and outhouse are synonyms for this five letter word that's defined as, quote, an outdoor waterless toilet. Oh my God. The room is stumped. Vault, toilet and outhouse are synonyms for this five letter word that's defined as an outdoor waterless toilet. Randall, do you have this one right?
Randall Williams
Boy, I think so.
Spencer Newarth
Okay, this is question five. So we will get a scoreboard update from Phil the Engineer after this. Oh my God. Phil has it set to sauna setting in the podcast studio today.
Randall Williams
Is a waterless toilet a contradiction in terms?
Spencer Newarth
I don't know. That's the definition I found for this word though. Vault, toilet and outhouse are Synonyms for this five letter word that's defined as an outdoor waterless toilet. Bobby, do you have this one right? Decent guess it is five letters. I don't think so. Okay, I think Bobby and Randall are the only players with an answer. Yanni, can you address the sleeve situation? It's been a few months since we've seen you wearing sleeves. Some folks have commented on it, they've wrote emails about it. What's going on?
Giannis Patelis
Good. I'm glad that they're paying attention because they need to start doing it too and realize the freedom that they'll feel. Okay without sleeves. But if I take this time now to do this, and then you're going to give me the time to also think about my answer because I know it's in there.
Spencer Newarth
How long of a response do you possibly have?
T-Mobile Advertiser Voice
About.
Giannis Patelis
Oh, no, I got a whole deal going here. Okay. So like, personally for me, I still now, after two months, sleeveless, I walk into the grocery and I'm like, I'm not quite comfortable and that's stupid. So I'm just going through like a thing where I want to become comfortable in my, literally in my own skin.
Randall Williams
The next logical extension of this program by which you're working towards equality and dress code, the bare midriff, I think that's your next frontier.
Phil the Engineer
Maybe.
Randall Williams
Yeah, just everything from the ribs down.
Phil the Engineer
That's too much.
Spencer Newarth
So Yanni now does Jesse too much at work. And he recommends if you're, if you're a banker out there, if you're a teacher, start wearing the sleeveless shirts to work.
Giannis Patelis
No, see, unfortunately, not everybody can do it at work. But as soon as you get out of work, change into your sleeveless.
Spencer Newarth
All right, Yanni, answer the question.
Randall Williams
Rip those sleeves right off.
Spencer Newarth
Answer.
Giannis Patelis
Oh, gosh, just give me just 30 seconds.
Spencer Newarth
Vault, toilet and outhouse are synonyms for this five letter word that's defined as an outdoor waterless toilet. Brody, did you come up with it?
Giannis Patelis
Nope, nope, nope, nope. I got a million.
Spencer Newarth
Probably be real mad when I got
Giannis Patelis
a million names in my head for this, but none of them five letters.
Spencer Newarth
It is a tough round of trivia. So far, the shelby index of 3.
Giannis Patelis
Did Shelby get this one looking solid.
Spencer Newarth
She did not. Is everybody ready?
Giannis Patelis
I got something written down.
Spencer Newarth
Go ahead and reveal your answers. Without an answer, Bobby says potty. Randall says privy. Alex without an answer, Yanni says privy. Without an answer. The correct answer is privy. Yeah, if you watch some Westerns, you get it right. The other definition of privy is quote, to have secret or exclusive knowledge of something. The privy council definition plus its use as an outdoor toilet is because privy traces back to the Latin word privatis, which means private art. Phil, halfway through the game. Scoreboard update.
Phil the Engineer
Scoreboard update is that Alex and Bobby are tied up with one point.
Giannis Patelis
Good job.
Spencer Newarth
Correction. I have zero honesty, Alex.
Podcast Advertiser Voice
I've got zero.
Giannis Patelis
Really?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Randall Williams
Can we clip that as a sound effect?
Spencer Newarth
I promise you, I got zero.
Phil the Engineer
You got.
Spencer Newarth
You got commander, right?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
You did get Reno. Sorry, I'm just jaded by my past experiences.
Giannis Patelis
I mean, I can take it off.
Randall Williams
Let's take it out. Let's take it off by my past experiences.
Phil the Engineer
On this show, Seth and Brody are tied up with three points. And in first place, it's Randall Williams and Giannis Sleeveless Patelis.
Randall Williams
Man, I. I didn't think you had privy in you.
Spencer Newarth
Yeah. Oh, you got that?
Phil the Engineer
He did.
Randall Williams
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
I thought you were just gonna flip over a blank whiteboard, Actually, nowadays we're

Question 6. The topic is wildlife. Ace is tasked with finding this pro sports team's abducted mascot in the 1994 comedy Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Thank God Randall has it. Alex has it. Ace is tasked with finding this pro sports team's abducted mascot in the 1994 comedy Ace Ventura Pet Detective.
Phil the Engineer
Comeback season, baby.
Spencer Newarth
Alex is going to double his score.
Randall Williams
The biggest year in a single comedic actor's life.
Spencer Newarth
Yes.
Phil the Engineer
Really?
Spencer Newarth
What else did he do? I suppose the dumb and dumber.
Giannis Patelis
The mask.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Randall Williams
And Ace all in the same year.
Spencer Newarth
Wow.
Podcast Advertiser Voice
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
I mean, you could probably just pull off like comedic at that and just be like any actor. Right? Like, as far as box office numbers would be hard to beat that.
Randall Williams
That's fair.
Spencer Newarth
In a year.
Randall Williams
But now he's just lost his mind.
Spencer Newarth
He has. He's lost his face. He's significantly altered. Ace is tasked with finding this pro sports team's abducted mascot in the 1994 comedy Ace Ventura Pet Detective.
Phil the Engineer
I think he's fun. And then those. Those Sonic movies could be worse. And he's pretty good.
Giannis Patelis
Okay, so you need the. You need the team name.
Spencer Newarth
The team name. That's right.
Phil the Engineer
Not looking.
Spencer Newarth
The pro sports team.
Giannis Patelis
Yeah.
Randall Williams
I'm a bigger fan of you need the city, too.
Spencer Newarth
When nature calls, you can just tell me the. Just tell me the mascot. You don't have to say city. You could just say if it was Montana State Bobcats. Just. Bobcats would work. Phil, would your kids think of the Sonic movies? I want to hear their review. Since it was for them, not for you.
Phil the Engineer
I mean, they're not. We don't have them on Repeat in the house. But we saw the last two in theaters.
Randall Williams
Nice.
Phil the Engineer
And I've had worse experiences during kids movies in theaters.
Spencer Newarth
Are they familiar with Jim Carrey's older work?
Phil the Engineer
Yeah, we've watched this film as a family. You know, the Grinch is a classic.
Randall Williams
What about Liar, Liar?
Phil the Engineer
We have not watched Liar, Liar.
Randall Williams
It's a little racy.
Giannis Patelis
Yeah, that might be for when they're teenagers.
Podcast Advertiser Voice
Yeah.
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
Is everybody ready?
Randall Williams
Some of them are.
Phil the Engineer
One of them is.
Spencer Newarth
Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says the Chicago Bulls. Bobby, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Randall says the Miami Dolphins. Alex, Miami Dolphins. Giannis says the Miami Marlins. And Brody says Miami Dolphins. The correct answer, the Miami Dolphins. Now the Florida Marlins. Ace Ventura is hired by the Dolphins to find Snowflake, the bottlenose dolphin. The thief is a retired Miami kicker, Ray Fin, a fictional player who missed the game winning field goal in a prior Super Bowl. Finkel also kidnaps hall of Famer Dan Marino, who Finkel blames for the botched kick. Ace saves the day when he frees Snowflake and Marino just before the second half of that year's super bowl, which the Dolphins are playing in. There is the movie poster for Ace Ventura, Pet Detective. Randall, do you have a review for us of Ace Ventura?
Randall Williams
I mean, I'll be honest. I saw When Nature Calls the sequel before seeing the original Pet Detective. I think that's a better, more complete film.
Spencer Newarth
Okay, rank it for us among Dumb and Dumber and the mask.
Randall Williams
His 1994 the Mask is one I haven't revisited in quite some time. But I almost said somebody stopped me during this as a joke, but then I realized that was a bit of dialogue from the Mask.
Spencer Newarth
I think it is. Can any of them really be better than Dumber and Dumb?
Randall Williams
No.
Spencer Newarth
Dumb and Dumber is.
Randall Williams
I think Dumb and Dumber is hard to.
Phil the Engineer
Yeah, we. We've also recently watched Dumb and Dumber and the Mask as a family that's about Rushmore. Dumb and Dumber is. Is probably the best out of those.
Randall Williams
That's the Mount Rushmore of comedies.
Spencer Newarth
Question seven. The topic is conservation. This next great question is via Tristan Le Manuel. It was not so good for this food brand in 2025 when they admitted to 5,400 violations of the Clean Water act at the Mommy River. Good. That's. M apostrophe M exclamation point. M apostrophe M exclamation point. Good. Exclamation point. It was not so good for this food brand in 2025 when they admitted to 5,400 violations of the Clean Water act at the Mommy River.
Giannis Patelis
Hey, you know what I learned about on a podcast today? That there are. There are herbicide, forensic. What do you call something that works in forensics?
Spencer Newarth
Forensic scientists.
Phil the Engineer
Forensic scientists.
Giannis Patelis
Forensic scientists.
Spencer Newarth
Investigator.
Giannis Patelis
That, like, if you go overboard on your herbicide use and you don't follow the label the way it's written, and then all of a sudden there's like, a fish kill downstream where you get some drift and the neighbors, like, half their crops dies. They can come in and test your place and be like, oh, yeah, Spencer didn't follow directions when he was spraying the gly around.
Spencer Newarth
Yep.
Giannis Patelis
And get you.
Spencer Newarth
Do you spray that stuff on your farms, Spencer? Now that I have, like, started planting things that I plan to eat, I've cut back probably, like 90% or 95%. So I'm not totally free of pesticides and herbicides, but I've significantly dialed it back.
Phil the Engineer
Where's the Maumee River?
Spencer Newarth
Not gonna tell you. Okay. It was not so good for this food brand in 2025 when they admitted to 5,400 violations of the Clean Water act at Ohio's Maumee River. Randall, do you have this one right? Ohio boy over there?
Randall Williams
I don't think so.
Spencer Newarth
King of Ohio, they call him.
Randall Williams
I don't think so.
Giannis Patelis
Good.
Spencer Newarth
Is everybody ready? Flip them over. Go ahead and reveal your answers, Seth. Without an answer. Bobby says kfc. Randall, M M's, Alex Campbell's, Giannis Campbell's Brody Campbell Soup. The correct answer is Campbell Soup. The violations occurred between 2018 and 2024. That's when their canning facility was discharging wastewater containing phosphorus, ammonia, E. Coli oil, and grease into the Maumee River. The river is Lake Erie's largest tributary, and environmental groups said the pollution was contributing to the lake's toxic algae blooms. The exact civil penalty for Campbell Soup is still pending the outcome of a trial.
Giannis Patelis
Now, why would all that stuff be coming from a food?
Randall Williams
To put a silver lining on this. At least that stuff wasn't going into the soup cans.
Giannis Patelis
Or was it right?
Spencer Newarth
Yeah, I think Seth's right. It was probably getting in a little bit of both at that point.
Randall Williams
I read way too much into you repeating for the listeners. That's M apostrophe M. It is insane punctuated.
Spencer Newarth
When I. When I saw your answer, Randall, I was like, that's actually even a better answer than the correct answer. M M's.
Randall Williams
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
All right. Question eight. The topic is cooking celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, whose recipes Include venison stew, garlic studded venison, and Tex Mex. Venison chili is famous for this three letter catchphrase. Randall has it. Yanni and Brody going to their whiteboards.
Randall Williams
Is this the one you have the video for?
Spencer Newarth
Yes, we have a video for it afterwards.
Randall Williams
I was so hopeful that you're going to play part of Ace Ventura for us.
Spencer Newarth
No, this is even better.
Randall Williams
Okay.
Spencer Newarth
This. This deserves an Oscar. Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, whose recipes include venison stew, garlic studded venison, and Tex Mex. Venison chili, is famous for this three letter catchphrase.
Phil the Engineer
We had a. We had a spoon rest in our kitchen growing up that had this catchphrase engraved on it. Wow.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Giannis Patelis
Wow.
Phil the Engineer
My dad was a big Emeril fan.
Spencer Newarth
I think all dads should be big Emeril fans. Seth, I'm a little surprised you have this one, right?
Randall Williams
Seth's the man of culture.
Spencer Newarth
Good. Ridiculous question. Does spelling count? I'm going to say it does. For a three letter word, spelling does count. Are you trying to make the same
Randall Williams
noise or are they just three letters? The correct letters out of order.
Spencer Newarth
I don't know how to spell the noise. Yeah. Great TV show.
Giannis Patelis
Write something down and we'll. We'll judge you.
Spencer Newarth
Emeril Lagasse, it had a live studio audience. It had a live band there with him. He knew how to get people fired up. I would watch it if it was on TV today.
Giannis Patelis
I don't think I've ever seen an episode.
Randall Williams
Rachel Ray had a live studio audience.
Spencer Newarth
She did, Yeah. I mean, that part's almost not even relevant for me to bring up, since any Food Network show probably has a live studio audience. And I think. I think in the video we're going to show afterwards, you see a young Rachael Ray there. I was like, is that Rachael Ray? And then I watched it a second time and I was like, I think that is Rachael Ray. Big Rachel Ray fan. Is everybody ready?
Giannis Patelis
Yes.
Spencer Newarth
Looking for the three letter catchphrase. Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says, bam. Bobby, bam. Randall, bam.
Giannis Patelis
Hey. Oh.
Spencer Newarth
Alex says, hey. O. Yanni and Brody say bam. The correct answer answer is bam. And I appreciate the exclamation points we saw in the room.
Phil the Engineer
Giannis, that's going to be your new catchphrase on Roast now, right? Hey.
Giannis Patelis
Oh, maybe.
Spencer Newarth
Emeril Lagasse is an award winning Creole chef with a dozen restaurants. He rose to fame in the early 90s when he started hosting the Food Network show How to boil water. His signature catchphrase, bam, is used to fire up studio audiences when he's seasoning a dish.
T-Mobile Advertiser Voice
Wow.
Giannis Patelis
I'm surprised that some hunting influencer hasn't co opted that.
Spencer Newarth
The Bam catchphrase could be you, Yanni. All right, Phil, scoreboard update. We have two questions left.
Giannis Patelis
Two left.
Phil the Engineer
Oh, it's a tight one.
Giannis Patelis
Anybody's game?
Phil the Engineer
Bobby works way up to two, Alex has three, Seth has four. But all tied up in first place, with six points a person are Giannis, Brody, and Randall.
Spencer Newarth
Question nine. The topic is fishing. Name three of the four states that touch the Delaware River. Name three of the four states that touch the Delaware River.
Giannis Patelis
Son,
Spencer Newarth
I got my Mama Rachel Ray cookbook one year for Mother's Day when I was a kid, and I feel like she's the one who popularized the phrase evoo Extra virgin olive oil. Name three of the four states that touch the Delaware River. Is that river run north or south or east and west?
Giannis Patelis
Good question.
Spencer Newarth
Anybody know? Seth, do you have this one right?
Giannis Patelis
Yes.
Spencer Newarth
Randall, do you have this one right?
Randall Williams
Pretty sure.
Spencer Newarth
Alex. He already has his whiteboard down. I've got at least one of those right. Okay.
Phil the Engineer
Who has fished this river? Oh, same.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Phil the Engineer
Many times.
Spencer Newarth
You're gonna tell us about it after we reveal the answer. Yanni, do you have this one right?
Giannis Patelis
Probably not.
Spencer Newarth
Name three of the four states that touch the Delaware River.
Giannis Patelis
Yeah. Not my geography of expertise.
Spencer Newarth
Okay. Bobby, looking confident, though. Yay or nay? I feel good about at least one of them. Okay. I don't know about all three. Alex, are you ready?
Giannis Patelis
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
Let's do it. Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey. Wow, what a show off. Bobby says Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York. Randall. Pennsylvania. Delaware, New Jersey. Alex? Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. Yanni. Pennsylvania. Delaware, Maryland. Brody. Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey. The correct answers are Delaware, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Brody and Seth got that one without even putting Delaware down. Yeah, I don't think of it as a Delaware River.
Phil the Engineer
Yeah.
Spencer Newarth
You know, it's weird. Good job, Brody and Seth. The Delaware river forms the border of Delaware and New Jersey, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania and New York. The Delaware River Club says the upper stretch of the river is, quote, home to the best wild trout fishing east of the Rockies. The middle section is known for its legendary American shad. And the lower stretch is famous for its striped bass. Seth. Delaware river. What were you catching?
Phil the Engineer
Middle section.
Spencer Newarth
Take a middle section. American shed.
Giannis Patelis
Yep.
Spencer Newarth
Okay.
Giannis Patelis
What'd you do with those, shad? You know, I don't remember what we did with them. We might threw them back.
Spencer Newarth
What do you do to catch an American shed?
Giannis Patelis
We were. We would just get in like runs.
Phil the Engineer
They would like kind of stage before,
Giannis Patelis
like a, a quick section of river and you, you would get in there with shad darts and they would just kind of flutter back there in the current and as they were coming up through, they would hit them.
Spencer Newarth
Any bycatch doing that?
Giannis Patelis
No, we always just caught Chad.
Spencer Newarth
All right, here's a correct answer review so far. One was 70% of mammals are nocturnal. 2. Reno. 3. Red. Right returning. 4. Buck Commander. 5. Privy.
Randall Williams
6.
Spencer Newarth
Miami Dolphins. 7. Campbell Soup. 8. Bam. 9. Delaware. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania. Phil, scoreboard update.
Phil the Engineer
Giannis hit a hurdle with that last question, but he's still in the game with six points. Brody and Randall have pulled ahead with seven points.
Spencer Newarth
Final question, question 10. The topic is hunting. National Deer association says this six letter plant is, quote, perhaps the most popular food plot for deer. Alex, real quick to answer. Seth real quick to answer. Randall quick to answer. And now we race. If Randall and Brody can get this one wrong and Yanni can get this
Giannis Patelis
one right, I have it right. Okay, But I doubt these two are gonna bomb Brody.
Spencer Newarth
Do you have this one? I have a six letter word. Okay, Plant, that I see deer eating sometimes. When I was driving home from Michigan, all I saw in these fields were deer. Every time. Okay, Randall, do you have this one right?
Phil the Engineer
You could.
Randall Williams
I don't think so, but I have six letters.
Giannis Patelis
You could see what it is from the interstate. Huh?
Spencer Newarth
Wait, now you're making me second guess, man. We'll find out if you got it right.
Randall Williams
All the apples on the trees,
Spencer Newarth
pretty distinct. And you can, you can see that. See it from. I mean, it's only a few things. Okay, says this six. Now you're making. Letter plant is perhaps the most popular.
Randall Williams
I don't like my answer.
Spencer Newarth
Food plot for deer. Is everybody ready?
Randall Williams
Oh, yeah.
Spencer Newarth
Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says clover. Bobby says clover. Randall says barley. Alex, clover. Giannis, clover. Brody, clover.
Randall Williams
Oh, God.
Spencer Newarth
The correct answer is clover.
Giannis Patelis
Just gave it to Brody. Shut it down.
Spencer Newarth
Clover varieties include arrow leaf, crimson, Ladino, berseem, red, and more. Its popularity is because it provides high protein, has a long growing season, is highly digestible, fixes its own nitrogen, and is relatively inexpensive in the right environment. A clover plot can last for five years before it needs to be replanted. Yeah. You got a clover plots?
Giannis Patelis
I do. Well, we just have all of our new roads now that we put in after we did the logging they're all clover. Clover and chicory and oats, I believe. But yeah, oats are just there to kind of what variety go with? Oh, I don't know. I got the, the, the mix. The clover, chicory and oat mix from my boy over there at Vitalized Seed.
Spencer Newarth
Jared, Deer like them?
Giannis Patelis
They do. Okay, but I was just gonna say I did a earlier, like a road and a turnaround in the woods maybe four or five years ago. And every spring is the first thing to green up and the deer and turkeys are in there eating it.
Spencer Newarth
Okay, clover. That makes Brody today's winner for getting question 10 correct. He got eight right answers. Yanni and Randall got seven. All right, Brody, what are we gonna do with that 500 donation? Let's send it to the National Deer association since they got me the win. Oh, good for you, Brody. That's a good reason. They'll appreciate that, putting out all that good material and how you can best make a food plot that the deer want to eat you.
