The MAGA Republicans in the House of Representatives just showed their cover up on live tv. So once again they voted against releasing the Epstein files. But here's what happened Tuesday afternoon. They voted on the House floor to block any debate about releasing the Epstein files. So their vote was to stop even discussions about the Epstein files. Yet alone the release of the Epstein files. Let's take a look at the COVID up by the MAGA Republicans in clear and plain view on the House floor.
Co-Host
Let's play it on this vote, The A's are 211. The nays are 2 10. The previous question is ordered. The question is on adoption of the resolution. Those in favor say aye. Those opposed say no. In the opinion, the chair, the ayes.
Host
Have you had Democratic Congress members pushing for transparency? Here's Democratic Democratic Congressmember Jamie Raskin. Let's play it publicly.
Co-Host
The Democratic members of this committee sent a letter today at 2pm demanding that the President keep his word and release the files to the American people. And that Chairman Jordan call a bipartisan hearing where we can work together to get to the bottom of this. How about a hearing on that? Do any of my colleagues want to talk about that? Or does everybody want to talk about George Soros?
Host
But the MAGA Republicans were taking their orders from Donald Trump. Late Tuesday afternoon. Donald Trump was at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. And Donald Trump said, I don't really even understand why people care about Epstein. It's boring stuff. What, sex trafficking minors and covering up for elites is boring stuff? And then Donald Trump says, you know, Epstein was never even a big factor in terms of life. Never a big factor in terms of life. What does that mean. Then he goes on to say, and it was fake news. It's all fake news, like Russia, Russia, Russia. Here, play this clip.
Co-Host
I know you urge people to move on, but I'm curious. Why do you think your supporters in.
Host
Particular have been so interested in the Epstein story?
Co-Host
I don't understand how it's been here. I don't understand it, why they would be so interested. He's dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life. I don't understand what the interest, what the fascination is. I really don't. And the credible information's been given. Don't forget, we went through years of the Mueller witch hunt and all of the different things. The Steele dossier, which was all fake, all that information was fake. But I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff. It's sordid, but it's boring. And I don't understand why it keeps going. I think really only pretty bad people, in including fake news, want to keep something like. Like that going. But credible information, let them give it. Anything that's credible, I would say, let them have it.
Host
So that's where the MAGA Republican Congress members were getting their orders from. But let's be clear what the Democrats were doing. Democratic Congressmember Jamie Raskin says, so why, after promising all these years to release the Epstein files, why isn't Trump releasing him? Here, play this clip.
Co-Host
And it's an attempt to change the subject, obviously, from what America wants to talk about now, which is why, after promising for all of these years to release the Epstein files, will President Trump not release them? And we know they were friends and we know they hung out, and we know there are all these pictures together. We know that Michael Wolf, Trump's biographer, said he saw photographs of Donald Trump and Epstein with minor age girls. Well, where does that leave us? That doesn't look good. If they then cover up all the information, come clean and release the information as the Republicans have repeatedly promised to do. So I look forward.
Host
And here's Congressmember Raskin again. And here he is speaking with MAGA Republican Congressmember Van Drew. And Van Drew's like, I fundamentally disagree with everything you're saying about Epstein. So Raskin's like, well, what do you disagree with? And Vandru's like, I'm not gonna tell you right now. You're not gonna tell me right now, huh? Here, play this clip.
Co-Host
All on anything. At the very least, the Judiciary Committee should be demanding that the Epstein files be made public. That is a bipartisan agenda. At least I thought it was. And if something has changed, please let me know. But I thought that we were all for that together and we should move on that today. Thank you. You're back.
Host
Mr.
Co-Host
Ranking Member.
Host
I thank you for your testimony and fundamentally disagree with you on everything. Without objection, all other opening statements will be included in the record. We're now going to introduce today's.
Co-Host
And please elaborate if you would, Mr. Chairman. I'm happy to hear it. I don't want to hold up the.
Host
Whole hearing, so it would take a considerable amount of time. It really would. Now, the MAGA Republicans who voted against there even being a debate about releasing the Epstein files, they leave. You saw them vote against it, right? They voted against the ability to even debate releasing the Epstein files. But now MAGA Republicans like Congress member Tim Burchett are out there speaking to the media and saying, well, I think the DOJ is involved in a cover up. I don't trust them one bit. Okay, well if you believe that, shouldn't you vote in favor of releasing the files? Why did you vote against releasing the files? Here, play this clip.
Co-Host
Should there be an investigation or a special counsel investigation? I don't know. I'm not an attorney. I just find them guilty and hang them publicly. I mean, I'm not.
Host
That's not over the top either. I'm ready.
Co-Host
I'm over disgusts me.
Host
I'm big on clarity and transparency and. And you know, that's a good reason.
Co-Host
People don't trust government, either party. But you don't believe what the Justice Department is saying. I don't know. You know, I don't. I don't. I think. I don't. I don't. I don't.
Host
Now back to the House floor. Democratic Congress member VC let's play it.
Co-Host
With the general wish to yield additional time.
Congressmember
An additional 30 seconds. Thank you.
Host
Gentlemen's recognized.
Co-Host
In our America, no one is beyond accountability. We will not forget, we will not look away. And we will not stop demanding the truth. We demand the immediate release of Epstein files. No more games, no more lies. No more protection for predators hiding behind the rich and powerful. I yield back.
Host
Back to the House floor, Democratic Congressmember Ro Khanna. Let's play it.
Co-Host
Last night the Speaker's Rules Committee voted to block my amendment that called for the full release of the Epstein files while protecting the victim's identity. Let's just be clear. They voted to protect rich and powerful men who were abusing assaulting and abandoning young women. That's what this vote is about. A nation that chooses impunity for the rich and the powerful at the expense of our children is a nation that has lost its moral purpose. So you ask why did they vote this way? Speak plainly. Because these rich and powerful men donate to the politicians in Washington D.C. play golf with the elites in Washington D.C. they are foreign leaders who we don't want to offend. They interact with our intelligence agencies that we don't want to disobey. There is something rotten in Washington and this is a question of whose side are you on? Are you on the side of the people? Are you on the side of America's children? Or are you on the side of the rich and powerful who've had their thumb on the scales and shafted Americans for decades? We are going to get a vote again this afternoon and I hope people will find the courage of a Republican like Ralph Norman or a Republican like Marjorie Taylor Greene or a Republican like Thomas Massie or the many, many MAGA Republicans who are demanding the full release of the Epstein files. It's not a question just of Epstein. It's a question of trust in our democracy. It's a question of of restoring a government of the people. By the gentleman's time has expired.
Host
Just a moment.
Co-Host
Does the gentle a wish to yield Any additional time?
Congressmember
30 seconds.
Co-Host
Gentleman has an additional 30 seconds and it's a question of the rebirth of a nation that stands for our children. I hope everyone in this up or down vote will vote to make sure that the Epstein files are released while protecting victims identity.

This is Crypto week. It's also Tax Evaders Month, National Drug Dealers Day and Human Traffickers Tuesday. Vote no on this rule. Release the Epstein files and don't try to distract us and say you want to that the reason we can't protect girls in our country is because I'll ask for another 30 seconds. Jim is recognized. 30 seconds. And don't tell us we can't release the Epstein files because you hate Joe Biden or because you hate leftists. People on the right, people on the center, everyone who wants to protect girls.
Host
In America says release the Epstein files now. I yield back Back to the House floor, Democratic Congresswoman Scanlon. Let's play it.
Congressmember
Thank you Mr. Speaker. If we defeat the previous question, I will offer an amendment to the rule to make in order amendment number 50 to H.R. 3633 offered by representative Khanna which requires the Attorney General to preserve and release any records related to Jeffrey Epstein. I applaud my colleagues, Representatives Veazi and Khanna for their work to release the Epstein files. I strongly support these efforts and the release of the files. Last night at the Rules Committee, Republicans rejected an amendment that would have required the Department of Justice to release the Epstein files. Multiple criminal investigations which allegedly documented trafficking of young women and girls with by Jeffrey Epstein, a sex offender and financier with whom the President often socialized. For years. The President and those in his orbit, including Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, alleged that prior administrations had covered up the identities of the rich and powerful people to whom Epstein had trafficked the girls and the facts surrounding his allegedly suspicious death. They came into office pledging to seek accountability for the horrific crimes by revealing Epstein's client list and and other information, but recently backtracked and refused to release any further information. There appear to be only two explanations for this about face either the Epstein files did not contain the explosive Information that Trump and his allies claimed during his campaign or this administration, is the one covering up what's in the files. So last night, all of the Republicans on the Rules Committee, except one, voted against releasing the files. Why would they try to prevent the truth about Epstein's abuse and those he enabled from coming out? That's anybody's guess. But with this previous question, the entire Republican conference has the opportunity to correct that mistake. They can vote today to release the Epstein files. Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to insert the text of my amendment into the record along with any extraneous material immediately prior to the vote on the previous question.
Host
Now, earlier in the day, Donald Trump, before he did a trip to Pennsylvania, and then he was back at Joyne Andrews base in Maryland, he said, I don't even understand why, you know, this is even a big deal. He said, it's an Obama, Comey and Biden hoax. It's, it's a, it's a one massive hoax. Here, play this clip. This is what he said in D.C. let's play it.
Co-Host
Did she tell you at all that.
Congressmember
Your name appeared in the.
Co-Host
No, no, she's, she's given us just a very quick briefing. And in terms of the credibility of the different things that they've seen, and I would say that, you know, these files were made up by Comey, they were made up by Obama, they were made up by the Biden. You know, and we went through years of that with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, with all of the different things that we had to go through. We've gone through years of it.
Host
So Pam Bondi was asked about it. And Pam Bondi said, look, our memo about the Epstein files where we say the Epstein files don't exist at all and we're not releasing anything. It speaks for itself. I'm just going to refer you to the DOJ memo. Play this clip. The President said today you would release credible files related to Mr. Epstein. Are you prepared to do that?
Co-Host
And when our, our memo.
Congressmember
Today, our memo is. Speaks for itself. And we'll get back to you on anything else. I haven't seen all of his statements today. Thank you.
Host
Okay, but Donald Trump's not saying that it doesn't exist. Donald Trump saying it's a Comey, Obama, Clinton, Biden hoax. And if there is no list, and if there are no files, then why would you block the release of something that doesn't exist? Or is what I just said too logical? As our Editor in chief, Ron Philip Koski. Right. So Trump woke up this morning thinking that insanely accusing Senator Adam Schiff of mortgage fraud was going to make Epstein go away today. Not so. That's the old way corporate news was. Now, with Midas touch and independent media leading the way, we're holding Donald Trump's feet to the fire. But remember earlier this morning, Donald Trump's like, I've always suspected shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist. And now I learned that Fannie Mae's financial crimes division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible mortgage fraud. Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in Maryland to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America when he must live in California because he was a congressman from California. I always knew Adam Schiff was a crook. The fraud began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated a second home on October 13, 2020. Then he goes, I want him brought to justice. So Donald Trump is having his goons at the various departments run audits and attack his political enemies and then make up stuff about them the way the Gestapo would do. Democratic Senator, former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill had something to say here, play this clip.
Co-Host
I'm saying he was close to the fire. He was. And somebody said over the weekend there.
Congressmember
Are more pictures of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein than there are trans athletes in the NCAA by multiples. So the bottom line is he wants this to go away now.
Host
And finally, Fox noted that, well, Donald Trump said they were made up by Comey and Obama. So that's the end of it. And then the Fox host refers to Donald Trump as President Daddy. Here, play this clip.
Co-Host
That. You must be kidding. What a wasted question. Also had some news about Epstein saying the Pam Bondi gave them a quick briefing about it. He said that those files were made up by Comey and Obama, that Pam Bondi has been handling this very well and whatever decision is made regarding the Epstein files is up to her. There was a real dust up between Pam Bondi and Cash Patel and Dan Bongino, the President Daddy, as Mark Ruta has dubbed him, stepped in and ended that feud the other day with a lengthy post on Truth Social. So we'll see where it all goes.

Summary of "GOP Gets Busted on House Floor in Trump Cover-Up" - The MeidasTouch Podcast
Podcast Information:
In the July 16, 2025 episode of The MeidasTouch Podcast, the Meiselas brothers delve into a significant political event surrounding the GOP's actions on the House floor regarding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The discussion is marked by sharp analysis, brotherly banter, and a commitment to uncovering the truth behind political maneuvers that impact democracy in America.
The episode opens with the host addressing a pivotal moment in Congress where MAGA Republicans in the House of Representatives actively blocked the release of the Epstein files. At [00:56], the host emphasizes the gravity of the situation:
“The MAGA Republicans in the House of Representatives just showed their cover up on live tv. So once again they voted against releasing the Epstein files.”
The brothers break down the vote details, highlighting the overwhelming opposition to releasing these files. At [01:31], the co-host provides the voting summary:
“The A's are 211. The nays are 2 10. The previous question is ordered. The question is on adoption of the resolution. Those in favor say aye. Those opposed say no. In the opinion, the chair, the ayes.”
This decisive vote signifies a substantial barrier to transparency, raising questions about the motivations behind the GOP's stance.
Shifting focus to the Democratic side, the podcast features Democratic Congressmember Jamie Raskin advocating for full transparency. At [01:56], Raskin is quoted urging:
“The Democratic members of this committee sent a letter today at 2pm demanding that the President keep his word and release the files to the American people. And that Chairman Jordan call a bipartisan hearing where we can work together to get to the bottom of this.”
Raskin's persistent push for accountability underscores the Democrats' commitment to unveiling the truth behind Epstein's connections and activities.
A significant portion of the discussion centers on Donald Trump's influence over the MAGA Republicans' decision-making. At [02:19], the host connects the GOP's actions to Trump's directives:
“But the MAGA Republicans were taking their orders from Donald Trump.”
Trump's dismissive remarks about the Epstein case are scrutinized. At [02:54], a clip of Trump is played where he states:
“I don't really even understand why people care about Epstein. It's boring stuff. What, sex trafficking minors and covering up for elites is boring stuff?”
This statement not only downplays the severity of Epstein's crimes but also suggests a deliberate effort to divert attention from the scandal.
The co-host further dissects Trump's stance at [02:58]:
“I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff.”
This sentiment reflects a broader strategy to undermine investigations and maintain alliances with influential figures implicated in the Epstein case.
Democratic Congressmember Jamie Raskin continues to press for the release of the Epstein files. At [04:13], Raskin challenges his Republican colleagues:
“And it's an attempt to change the subject, obviously, from what America wants to talk about now, which is why, after promising for all of these years to release the Epstein files, will President Trump not release them?”
Raskin highlights the contradictions in the GOP’s promises versus their actions, emphasizing the need for bipartisan support to achieve transparency.
The podcast details a confrontation between Raskin and MAGA Republican Congressmember Van Drew at [05:16]:
“Representative Raskin: So why, after promising all these years to release the Epstein files, why isn't Trump releasing him?
Representative Van Drew: I fundamentally disagree with everything you're saying about Epstein.”
This exchange epitomizes the deep partisan divide and the obstruction faced by Democrats in their pursuit of accountability.
Throughout the episode, the hosts provide critical analysis of the events. At [05:48], the host questions the rationale behind MAGA Republicans’ actions:
“Should there be an investigation or a special counsel investigation? I don't know. I'm not an attorney. I just find them guilty and hang them publicly.”
This reflects the hosts' frustration with the lack of progress and the perceived evasion by Republican members.
Democratic Congressmember Ro Khanna delivers a passionate plea at [07:36]:
“Last night the Speaker's Rules Committee voted to block my amendment that called for the full release of the Epstein files while protecting the victim's identity.”
Khanna's remarks emphasize the moral imperative to hold the rich and powerful accountable, challenging the systemic protections that shield perpetrators.
Despite repeated attempts, Republicans continue to block the release of the Epstein files. At [09:43], the host highlights:
“The MAGA Republicans who voted against there even being a debate about releasing the Epstein files, they leave.”
This persistent obstruction underscores the hurdles Democrats face in their fight for transparency.
A crucial segment features Donald Trump’s characterization of the Epstein case as a “hoax.” At [15:05], Trump is quoted:
“These files were made up by Comey, they were made up by Obama, they were made up by Biden.”
This blatant dismissal aims to delegitimize the investigations and shift blame onto previous administrations.
When questioned about Trump's claims, Attorney General Pam Bondi responds at [15:58]:
“Our memo speaks for itself. And we'll get back to you on anything else.”
Bondi's terse reply suggests either a lack of substantial information or an unwillingness to engage with the allegations, further fueling skepticism.
The host critiques the GOP’s strategy and integrity at [16:08]:
“Donald Trump's not saying that it doesn't exist. Donald Trump saying it's a Comey, Obama, Clinton, Biden hoax. And if there is no list, and if there are no files, then why would you block the release of something that doesn't exist?”
This line of questioning challenges the logical consistency of the GOP's actions, implying a deliberate attempt to suppress incriminating information.
The discussion shifts to allegations against Senator Adam Schiff. The host states:
“Adam Schiff was a crook. The fraud began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated a second home on October 13, 2020.”
These claims aim to discredit Schiff, portraying him as another target of Republican-led attacks intended to divert attention from the Epstein case.
Former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill adds to the discourse at [17:54]:
“There are more pictures of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein than there are trans athletes in the NCAA by multiples.”
McCaskill's statement underscores the extensive connections between Trump and Epstein, suggesting a long-standing complicity.
The hosts emphasize the importance of independent media in holding powerful figures accountable. At [18:25], they criticize mainstream media's portrayal of Trump:
“Fox host refers to Donald Trump as President Daddy.”
This critique highlights perceived biases in media coverage and the need for vigilant, unbiased journalism to expose the truth.
Wrapping up the episode, the hosts reiterate their commitment to uncovering and disseminating the truth:
“That's what was going down today. We'll keep you posted every step of the way on the Midas Touch Network.”
They invite listeners to stay engaged through subscriptions and further content offerings, underscoring the podcast's role in providing critical political analysis.
