You better watch your back, Donald Trump, because J.D. vance seems like he's continuing to throw you under the bus. He sees that you are physically and cognitively deteriorating at a very rapid pace. And JD Vance keeps on leaking to the media that he's the real decision maker in the White House, that he was the reason why the war in Iran now has a ceasefire. He was the reason that there was a voice of dissent in the White House telling you, Donald, not to invade Iran, but you made the decision with Hegseth and Netanyahu and others, while Vance said he was the one who was saying, donald, don't do it. J.D. vance keeps on leaking to the New York Times, my opinion and to other outlets to cast himself as someone who is ready to take over the White House at a moment. Notice as Donald Trump's health is rapidly declining and he's throwing Donald Trump under the bus in so many ways. You know, I don't think that Donald Trump even read or even knew about the 10 point ceasefire plan, Iran's framework, because either Donald Trump didn't read it or Donald Trump just knowingly entered into a deal that gave Iran quite literally everything Iran could have wanted in its wildest imagination of its wish list. Right? Iran, their ten point plants, as the US Military bases in the Middle east all need to be shut down. The US Needs to give full reparations to Iran. Iran can continue to enrich all of its uranium. Iran, Iran gets security guarantees for itself, Hezbollah, the Houthis, the Shiite militias in Iraq. Iran has all the sanctions against it removed. Iran is recognized as a major player now in geopolitical affairs. And apparently J.D. vance was in the room. He was the one who told Donald, hey, Donald, I think you gotta do this deal. It's a really strong deal. And I think J.D. vance, in my opinion, knows that Donald Trump is cognitively and physically declining. I think he knows the fear that Donald Trump had as he saw the markets crashing. And the US framework for negotiation was a 15 point plan of basically full surrender for the Iranians. The Iran plan, their negotiation strategy was a full surrender for the United States. And, and so people were wondering, how could you bring these sides together when Iran said it wasn't going to move off of its 10 point framework for negotiations unless Trump just adopted the 10 point framework? And I don't think Donald Trump knows the difference between the number 15 and the number 10. I think Donald Trump was desperate for a deal. He's pathetic. He's a very weak negotiator. He knew that the deadline that he set could not be met. He was too scared to execute on his plan, although he talked a big game about blowing up the Iranian civilization. And who was in the room, who swooped in to kind of finalize the deal and tell Donald Trump to take it, which will go down as the worst deal in American history. And this is the biggest, most embarrassing, most humiliating loss in American history. So J.D. vance casts himself as the person who helped bring peace. That's how he tries to frame it, which is BS While having Donald Trump take the brunt of the fact that you just gave up everything. You surrendered. Donald, you see what J.D. vance has been doing here. And then yesterday morning we read this New York Times expose about how the war in Iran started and it could have been avoided. Trump's unlawful invasion and, and it looked like it was written by J.D. vance, talked about how strongly J.D. vance was working to behind the scenes to stop Donald Trump from going to war with Iran. And J.D. vance was yelling at Netanyahu and yelling at Hegseth, and he was the voice of reason behind the scenes. But he couldn't prevail upon Donald Trump because Donald Trump was bloodthirsty. Remember that he. Bloodthirsty is how Axio said it. New York Times didn't use that exact language, but they described, you know, a frenzy and frantic Donald Trump working with Netanyahu and Hegsethanos. But Vance was the voice of reason. J.D. vance was also taking a major international trip in the past 24 hours where you know, how Donald Trump is a Putin puppet, in my opinion, a Putin sycophant, a Putin bootlicker. Right. I think J.D. vance is angling himself to be kind of that Putin snake, that Putin sidekick, if you will, because J.D. vance took that trip to Hungary. He held a campaign rally with Viktor Orban, he attacked Brussels, he attacked the European Union. He told the people vote for Viktor Orban. He gave a lot of Kremlin talking points.
Interviewer
Right.
Political Commentator
J.D. vance, in my opinion, if you look at what he was saying in Hungary, he was just spewing Putin talking point after Putin talking point after Putin talking point. And so I think you put these puzzle pieces and also other statements JD Vance has made recently saying, you know, if something happens to Donald Trump's health, he's incredibly healthy. We all know that. Right. But if something were to happen, I've gotta be ready to step in on day one, Right? So I think there's an intense amount of pressure going on there and I think Donald Trump knows what's happening and he's getting deeply paranoid. And I think when Donald Trump was saying recently at one of those speeches, I love surrounding myself with losers and stupid people, that was his way of attacking J.D. vance, who he now sees as a threat, in trying to basically undermine him in every way. As people are seriously Talking about the 25th amendment now, people aren't throwing around the 25th amendment in hyperbolic terms, Right. It's not like they're saying, oh, the 25th Amendment. No, no. I mean, very serious lawmakers, dozens of lawmakers are saying, 25th Amendment. You got to remove Donald Trump. He's physically and mentally unf. Fit for this position. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who knew Donald Trump better than anyone, says he's physically and mentally unwell, he needs to be removed. People like Alex Jones, lots of kind of right wing former MAGA people who know him well, say that this guy is physically, mentally, he can't do it anymore. He's all over the place. I mean, the fact that Donald Trump was posting all of last night, Iran's victory statement, Trump was posting on his social media, Iran's foreign minister, Iraqi, declaring victory and talking about how, yeah, there was this 15 point plan, but Donald Trump agreed to Iran's 10 point plan and Trump reposted that like that was a victory. And you know, whether Donald Trump actually understands, I mean, the 10 terms were complete surrender for the U.S. and again, I think we all know Trump was panicking and he was going to try to do some sort of kind of fake deal or give up or taco as it's called. But I think J.D. vance put the dagger in also because all the reporting is J.D. vance was working with the Chinese diplomats from China as well as Russians. They were the ones really kind of working with Pakistan to formulate this. And then they put it on Donald as though Donald embraced it. And I my theory is I think this ceasefire is going to fall apart very soon. I don't think it holds when you actually dig into it. I mean, Iran says it controls the Strait of Hormuz, should have mentioned that earlier. And it will charge $2 million per ship that goes through the Strait of Hormuz and it will maybe allow 10 ships a day where in the past it was 150 ships a day. And the Iranian army will be the ones who take these ships through the Strait of Hormuz. And so I think with dynamics like that, once the details are kind of more known, which they should be known, I think this falls apart quickly. And when it falls apart quickly also, who's it going to fall apart on? It's going to fall apart on Donald. And waiting in the wings, I think is J.D. vance again, who's ready to pounce and be like, look, I'm the guy who's trying to make it work and I've been working with the Chinese and I've been working with the Russians and I've been working with all of that. But again, I'm not going to try to be conspiratorial here. Is there a plan there at this point to try to push Donald Trump aside and put J.D. vance in power? Because let's face it, I mean, I don't think J.D. vance is going to be electable, you know, at this point.

So let me just give you a few more data points and receipts right here. Okay? I've showed you all the politicians saying 25th amendment, 25th amendment knew him, even MAGA people are saying it. Here was the scoop. Just so you understand about how this so called ceasefire, which is a total surrender by the United States came about. As Farnoosh Amiri explains, an official from one of the mediating country tells me that the 11th hour deal between the US and Iran came together after involvement of two unlikely actors, JD Vance and China. Vance was looped in late Tuesday and China helped get Iran on board. And so if you're My theory was this, that if you're Iran, even if you know the ceasefire is going to fall apart, the fact that you can get the President of the United States to make a social media post that says that he's negotiating within your 10 point framework. Can you think of anything more humiliating for the United States to be put through where the President of the United States is admitting to a full surrender to give up all of its bases in the Middle east and not even realizing that that's what he's doing. Look at what Trump said. This is what Trump posted. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the agreement to be finalized and consummated. Did J.D. vance write that for him? I mean when you look at the 10 points about what they're saying this deal is all about, I mean the deal is complete and total surrender for Donald Trump in the United States. It's wild. It's wild. So there was that story. As Jeet here explains, it's very telling that Vance has been leaking to suggest he opposed the war before it started and was the lone dissenter in the White House and that he played a key part in this ceasefire but distance himself from the actual Terms of the ceasefire. Right early yesterday, this was the article how Trump took the US to war with Iran. In a series of Situation Room meetings, Trump weighed his instincts against the deep concerns of his vice president and a pessimistic intelligence assessment. Here's the inside story of how he made the fateful decision. As Matthew Iglesia says, important lesson here from J.D.

For all high level politicos, if you give the scoops, you get to shape the narrative. Here's what it the reporting underscores how closely Mr. Trump's hawkish thinking aligned with Netanyahu's over many months, more so than even some of the president's key advisors recognize. Their close association has been an enduring feature across two administrations. And that dynamic, however, fraud at times has fueled intense criticism and suspicion on both the left and the right of American politics. And it shows how in the end, even the more skeptical members of Mr. Trump's war cabinet, with stark exception, with the stark exception of Mr. Vance, the figure inside the White House most opposed to full scale war, deferred to the president's instincts, including his abundant confidence that the war would be quick and decisive. The White House declined to comment. Who do you think is feeding that information? Come on. That's coming from J.D. vance. Remember a few weeks back when J.D. vance, or recently, I'm not sure if it was a few weeks back, but it was recent, this interview where he says, yeah, Donald Trump's very healthy, but I'll be ready if tragedy strikes. What a strange thing to say. I'll be ready if tragedy strikes. Play this clip.
Interviewer
You seem to go with the flow pretty well. Do you have quiet moments? You think about that?
J.D. Vance
Honestly, Sean, I try not to. I mean, one, I serve under Donald Trump, who is very healthy.
Political Commentator
That's a pretty big shadow.
J.D. Vance
He casts a big shadow. But if I served under Joe Biden, I'd probably be worried every minute of every day that he was gonna croak and that I'd have to become president. But because I serve a president.
Political Commentator
Okay, did it just happen?
J.D. Vance
Like, I'd never be able to sleep. I'd always have my cell phone as loud as possible. But no, the president, the president won. He's got a lot of energy, he's extremely healthy. So I don't think about that. Obviously, that's part of the job, is you've got to be ready if tragedy strikes.
Political Commentator
And then I have another example, too, where J.D. vance was leaking about his involvement in negotiations to try to bring a ceasefire about in the war in Iran. Remember the Story of Kamal Kharazi, Iran's former foreign minister, who was involved in negotiations with the help of Pakistan. And they wanted to bring this guy in to try to negotiate a ceasefire. It was about a week ago. Remember, the US And Israel then bombed his home and killed his wife when he was the person picked by Pakistan. Two Iranian officials told the New York Times that he had been overseeing engagement with Pakistan to arrange a possible meeting between Iranian officials and J.D. vance. So you have J.D. vance's name coming out again and again in these types of contexts. Remember when Donald Trump said, I like to hang out with losers because it makes me feel better? This was clearly directed at JD Vance. Here, play this clip. What is missing in leadership?
Interviewer
Well, it's winning. You gotta win. You know, I've watched a lot of people, leaders, great leaders, and you know, the one thing about sports is you break it down into, you know, two hour period, something nice. You don't have to wait a lifetime to find out is somebody a winner or a loser. You got a lot of losers, mostly losers. Fortunately, it's a good thing to have a lot of losers. I always like to hang around with losers, actually, because it makes me feel better. I hate guys that are very, very successful and you have to listen to their success stories. I like people that like to listen to my success.
Political Commentator
And then there was this story right here. Another leak to Axios, the Trump regime's favorite source to leak things to. This was from March 27, 2026. According to Barack Ravid, US Vice President J.D. vance had a difficult call with Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu on Monday where he said that Israeli assessments for toppling the Iranian regime were not realistic enough, saying you were too optimistic in your assessment regarding the overthrow of the regime in Iran. So do you see the barrage of leaks coming from J.D. vance? And that brings me to this following conclusion, which is JD Vance in Hungary doing the role that Trump usually does, the Putin puppet, The Putin sycophant. J.D. whether he's working with Russia on this right now in China or whether he sees this as his path to power, take a look at what he says, where he says we have to go get Viktor Orban reelected. Here, play this clip.
J.D. Vance
It's obviously a tough act to follow, but I'm going to do my best because we have got to get Viktor Orban reelected as Prime Minister of Hungary, don't we?
Political Commentator
You know, and he's quite literally parroting Putin's talking points like this, where he says Ukraine is interfering with elections in the US and in Hungary, which they're not. But this is a direct Putin talking point. Play this clip.
J.D. Vance
So, to answer your question, yes, we're certainly aware that there are elements within the Ukrainian intelligence services that tried to put their thumb on the scale of American elections, on Hungarian elections. This is just what they do. This is, this is part of the cost of doing business within some elements of their system.
Political Commentator
And finally, there's this Putin talking point where J.D. vance says that Hungary's under attack from Brussels, from the European Union. Again, another Putin talking point here. Play this clip.
J.D. Vance
What has happened in this country, what has happened in the midst of this election campaign is one of the worst examples, examples of foreign election interference that I've ever seen or ever even read about. The bureaucrats in Brussels have tried to destroy the economy of Hungary. They have tried to make Hungary less energy, independent. They have tried to drive up costs for Hungarian consumers, and they've done it all because they hate this guy. But I think that what the people of Hungary, what I would encourage them to do is ask themselves the question, not who is pro or anti Europe, not who's pro or anti the United States of America, but who is pro you? Who is pro the people of Hungary?
Political Commentator
So to me, you put it all together. I think that J.D. vance, you could disagree, but I think J.D. vance sees what's happening to Trump's physical and mental health and he is nudging it over the finish line. You tell me what you think. We're all entitled to our opinions, but I wanted to back up my opinions with the data points of what I see. But you could disagree. Hosts: Ben, Brett, and Jordy Meiselas
This episode centers on Vice President JD Vance’s growing public and behind-the-scenes splits from President Donald Trump during America’s controversial ceasefire deal with Iran. The Meiselas brothers examine the mounting speculation—within both political circles and the media—that Vance is positioning himself as Trump’s potential replacement through the 25th Amendment, highlighting a cascade of leaks, public statements, and Vance’s international posturing. The conversation further explores Trump’s cognitive and physical decline, the disastrous Iran deal, right-wing disillusionment, and Vance's embrace of Putin-aligned positions in Hungary.

The episode paints a vivid picture of a White House in factional crisis, with JD Vance leveraging Trump’s perceived decline—and America’s diplomatic mess—to boost his image domestically and globally. The brothers warn that Vance’s opportunism, foreign alignments, and the GOP’s internal doubts present serious risks for democracy. Their analysis—rooted in sharp humor and detailed citation—offers listeners both the receipts and repercussions of contemporary power struggles at the highest levels.
